Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 202

See? the whole thing about Lisanna wanting to be a bride when she grows up is good here. I'm talking in the context of Juvia!

Juvia found the joy of friendship with Lucy. She then found the joy of family with Cana. Now, she's going to discover love with Lisanna.

I'm not saying this as in she's going to fall in love with Lisanna (though Jusanna seems like it'd be a cute rarepair...), I mean that Lisanna has always been a love-centric, 'raise a family with warmth and motherly love' sort of nurturing character. (She did, after all, roost Happy with Natsu and taught him how to care for and warm something gently. She would be teaching that exaact same lesson to Juvia, who has only known strength-based expressions in her life.)

Juvia knows she loves Gray, but she doesn't know how to express it, or how to handle it at all (the whole regressing to Phantom Juvia thing once she learned about Edolas). Lisanna is here to fix that! She sees a girl in love and wants to meddle!

Juvia's character arc is dependent on the fact that she is already strong, and thus, her journey in Fairy Tail is the journey to find emotions, and the many forms of love she can now experience. She never got any of it when she was a child, and that's why all her new arcs with the girls in Fairy Tail is so important.

Alas, the one with Lisanna that was clearly set up here? it didn't go anywhere. Instead, Juvia found another arc with Meredy. It was also an arc about motherly love! It was also powerful, but it offset everything, and I think Mashima lost sight of it all afterward, because Juvia ended up just focusing on Gray henceforth.

I do wish we saw this. Of course, don't take out the Meredy story--- this should've been a character arc that starts from Juvia getting to know Lisanna and what she experiences in love-- and then applying it when she encounters Meredy. I think it would've still made sense without taking anything away from her fight with Meredy and the whole protecting Gray situation happening then. It'll actually enrich Juvia as a character, add another layer to Gruvia even, and Juvia's care for Meredy should've been built upon further after the arc ended to become the next Juvia-discovering- emotions saga. Alas.

The kiss planted to one corner of his lips was loving, feather-light, alluring - and not nearly enough to sate his longing for her. Being the gentleman that he was, there was no denying that he'd make do with the single gesture if that's all that was in store for him tonight and a placid sigh slipped past slightly parted lips as he floated on the gentle waves of comfort that accompanied her presence, taking him in.

However, that was exactly when her near breathless words reached his consciousness and every single thought he had previously spent on simple quality time, on innocent intimacy, got blown out of the window at once.

     Pupils dilated at the promise for the further procedure of their night, erotic images spun in his mind and all with her in their center. Truly, Cana brought out his BEST and his WORST sides and neither of them would have it any other way. Breath stuttered with the gradual growth of arousal and Freed nodded, not bothering to conceal the effect she clearly had on him.

The water turned to steam as they stared at each other, and Gray had to add another layer of frost to his skin before Natsu looked away. His cheeks were pink, and Gray couldn't decide if it was from the heat or if he was just embarrassed.

Hector being such a chad that he promotes in Chapter 29 when the endgame is Chapter 32 and yet remains viable and can double armored units, Edelgard couldn’t hope to compete with a fraction of his power

At level 20 Hector has capped speed and strength, truly incredible, meanwhile Lyn was level 10 and Eliwood was level 6 throughout the whole game (I early promoted Lyn) lmao

Warp strat-ting the last Kishuna chapter be like - Warp - Rescue so Raven doesn’t get gangbanged by the Berserkers - Warp in again with Killing Edge cheese 

Last boss be like Canas - Athos - Rescue drop so Dragon doesn’t target anyone else but Canas on enemy phase - buff a useless buff with Nils and end the game with Hector’s Armads (at a 70 hit too lmao)

Hector and Lyn A Support (damnnn the changes in the conversations they had during the story was good), Eliwood and Ninian A Support (again, changes in story convo and ending good)

Hector wanting to name his son Uther (knladfadf) and Mark asking what if its a girl, to which Hector replies NAH IT’LL BE A BOY

Anyway the early game MVPs goes out to Oswin, Marcus, Sain and Florina, then late game carries are is Priscilla, Raven, Canas, Florina and Fiora. Raven is the main boss killer and then Canas LUNAs the late game bosses while taking 0 damage to Light Brands, while Priscilla can dodgetank a good amount of staff and Warp strats later on with Canas. Florina takes 0 damage from Flux mages late game and Fiora is there to support, albeit a bit weaker but an earlier promotion solves this.

Raven truly is the Rutger in this game. Has supports with a OP female dodgetank Trobadour, is a cold tsundere... huh...

Priscilla gets A support with Sain this time (Sain is sadly low speed in endgame) and B support with Raven. Canas is sadly no good support until Pent (which I forgot he had) and Vaida (which only manages to get up to C). Florina and Fiora A support each other.

Special shoutout to Hawkeye and Pent for joining at amazing base stats that require no training at all. And to a lesser extent Isadora in her chapter is amazing, and Vaida.

Maps I struggled with a LOT: Merlinus map, Pirate ship map, Kishuna second map just sucked ass cos Kishuna moves around, also have I mentioned how much Sleep and Berserk Staves suck, and BATTLE BEFORE DAWN FUCK YOU

Funnily enough I had to restart the Pent chapter because Pent killed too many people....

Now that I’m done with the GBA fire emblem games, it’s time to move onto Tellius!
