Freed: Do you ever look at your family and wonder how stupidity hasn't killed them yet?
Bickslow, from the other side of the room: Hey, Laxus? If you put a fork in a plug socket would you be hurt or would you get stronger?
Laxus: No clue. Let's find out.
Freed: ...Cuz I sure do.

HELP idk but i titled this after the taylor swift song cs ngl it lines up SO well with the gmg arc..
anyways we alr know who its for 🤭🤭 (LAXUS DREYAR‼️‼️) during the gmg where reader in one mermaid heel n opposing until she sees him?? prob js an extension of my right where you left me oneshot!
Tumblr media
everything has changed, laxus is back. she has a reason to smile again, but still, her guild was competing with his. she love him, but she hated losing. despite that though, she had her doubts, should she drop the games? should she try to purposefully lose? winning this would be huge for him and his guild, and it would make them forgive him, right? so wouldn't it be worth it for her to take a loss for him?
she was dragged out of her thoughts when she walked straight into a brick wall, stumbling backwards.
someone had grabbed her, stabilizing her.
"ma'am? are you alright?" mumbled a man as he kneeled by her, sting from sabertooth. a blush grew on her face as she realized.
"oi! isnt that the girl from mermaid heel? the super strong on?" said a voice from next to sting.
"i'm fine.. thank you. i must get going though." she replied, flustered as she ran off into the crowd.
"hey! i dont even know your name yet .. oi! lady you dropped your hairclip!" sting called out after her, as she disappeared.
she entered the stadiums and walked over to the stands where her guild was situated.
"oh! y/n, you're in a much better mood today!" kagura exclaimed.
"some things happened.." she muttered with a huge grin on her face.
"oooh, was it boy things?" risley asked, with a giggle.
"oh! y/n, its about time you've gotten a man in your life!" kagura continued.
"oh? did y/n finally find someone?" arana asked, a smile curling up her lips.
"no! its not like-" she squeaked, flustered, before milliana chimed in.
"who is it? is he cute? like a cat?" she asked, as all 5 of started giggling.
chapati began to announce the games for the day, hidden, and some fight afterwards.
"oi, could i play in today event?" y/n asked, still giddy.
"you're gonna be in the arena losing us points 'cause you're too busy giggling about your boyfriends," risley joked, as kagura shook her head.
"yes, you may participate." kagura said in a stern tone.
as she walked into the arena, she saw grey fullbuster - an ice mage, juvia lockser - a water mage, and rufus lore - a memory mage? 3 recognizable faces and 2 vaguely familiar ones - lyon vastis, and eve tearm. one ice mage, one snow mage.
nullpudding and jager were her main concerns, unsure of what magic they used.
a city formed behind them as mato explained the rules, saying it was a kind of hide and seek.
her lips curled into a smile as they were all teleported around the arena, and had to make a choice of where to hide.
but instead, she decided to not hide, but instead to actively hunt members of other guilds. it was easy with her magic, the magic of bones, they spoke to her, revealing locations, and once that happened, she could strike them down with one hit.
the points were easy to rack up.
one from eve. one from juvia. one from nullpudidng. one from jager. none of them were able to react fast enough to counter the information she already had, she slinked through the shadows, striking them down one by one until it was her versus rufus for 1st place.
she knew his magic, memory make. it didn't necessarily work to duplicate hers, as it was something she was born with and not something learnable.
as the games timer ended, rufus's meteor shower had racked up loads of points, but still - only one more than her. as she realized what she had to do, she shot out of the shadows, dashing at him, but ss her fist connected, the clock rang zero, and time was up - she didn't get the last point needed to win.
meanwhile!
"whoever goes up against her's gonna have hell to pay.." laxus chuckled, watching the event.
"what do you mean by that, laxus?" mirajane asked, a little confused.
"shes probably the strongest mage in this whole damn stadium." laxus recalled, he remembered how strong she was before, but now? 7 years of training, 7 of experience, no one stood a chance.
"can't be so sure, sparky.. she doesn't look very strong, 'm sure i could beat her." gajeel laughed, a mouth full of metal.
laxus just scoffed, knowing they would be forced to realize at some point.
however, it didnt seem to be them who would have to realize, as his name was called into the arena to verse her.
"good luck, laxus!" mira exclaimed as he walked into the arena.
"hey!" y/n said, as they were now facing each other in the arena.
she walked closer to him, before embracing him into a hug that he gladly reciprocated, and pressing a deep kiss to his lips.
with her arms around his neck, she was kissing all over his face, before telling him, "just like how it was when we used to train together, ok? nothing too much.."
"crowd seems interested." laxus noted, their response to her kisses on his face consisted of booing, probably directed at laxus.
her guild was going beserk, with the girls in the stands shrieking and cheering, as his seemed to be freaking out, with his frandfather passed out on the floor and natsus jaw hanging slightly open.
"oi, no bone stuff right?" laxus called out, as they both backed up, only to receive a no in response. "good girl," he laughed as she lit up bright up, her hands covering her mouth as she shook her head no.
eventually they did get to the fighting part, but it was just an extended spar, nothing too special about it, until she requipped into a swimsuit and flooded the arena.
"you're gonna get electrocuted, sweetheart," laxus chuckled, seeing her stunt to end the fight.
"'ts been going on for too long.." she laughed, before splashing some water at him.
"oh yea? so you give the points to me instead of letting it draw?" he teased, a smile on his face.
"exactly!" she smiled, "i'm tired."
"come take a nap in my room," he offered.
"hey laxus.." she laughed, "how about.. we hug, and you strike us both with lightning to see who lasts the longest?"
"it's gonna be me." he said, unwilling to lose this. "come here."
"take off your shirt." she mumbled, as she hugged his chest.
lightning struck around them, buzzing in the water, hitting both their bodies, it went on for a minute or two, until y/n went limp.
laxus picked up her body, making sure there was a pulse, before holding it above his head, demonstrating his clear victory, and to get her out of the water.

Chapter Four: Bixlow
Lucy was walking briskly towards her work. She hummed as she walked, occasionally glancing around. It had been a few weeks since she was attacked by Kit and met Cana. She hadn't seen Kit since the attack and she was beginning to think that she didn't need to keep an eye out every time she left her home. Nevertheless, she continued to take her keys with her everywhere. After all, Kit did say that she was hired by Lucy's father to bring her back to the Heartfilia Estate, so Lucy doubted that the green-haired woman would stop. Although, the question was, why was Kit waiting so long to attack again? Surely she would try again. Lucy softly touched her cheek, the cut has already healed without even a scar.
The possibility of being attacked by Kit again wasn't the only thing she had been thinking about since that night. For some reason, Lucy was unable to stop thinking about Cana. Whenever she wasn't doing anything or doing menial tasks at the cafe her mind would always turn to the brunette mage from Fairy Tail. It was driving her crazy. Every time she caught herself, she would blush and try to think about anything else.
The blonde would often imagine meeting Cana again and spending time with her. She would feel a fluttering feeling in her stomach and her face would burn with a deep blush, especially when she caught herself. She had never felt this way about someone. Was she in love? What was this feeling? She was confused but didn't have anybody to talk to about it.
Of course, she had found herself being attracted to men and women that she saw in magazines and read about in books, but the way she felt about Cana was different in a way that she couldn't even hope to explain. Several times in the past few weeks she had thought about summoning Aquarius and talking to her, but was never able to go through with it.
Lucy was so deep in thought about Cana that she hadn't seen the small, wooden totem on the ground in front of her. She let out a yelp as she tripped over something on the ground. She landed on her front, her chin hitting the stone ground and her arms splayed out in front of her in a failed attempt to catch herself. She laid there for a few moments, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
She soon pulled herself up to sit on her knees, rubbing the spot directly under her chin as she groaned at the pain. She pulled her hand away and looked at it, relieved that she didn't seem to be bleeding. She would probably have a bruise, though. Minnie had freaked out when she saw the cut that was on Lucy's cheek and wouldn't let her get to work until she explained what had happened. Lucy had managed to come up with a believable lie, saying that she had gotten the minor injury when she was training with one of her spirits. She didn't like lying to Minnie, but she also didn't want to worry the kind older woman. She didn't want to see how Minnie would react if she had a cut on her face again.
Lucy looked around her on the ground, searching for the wretched object that made her trip. Her brown eyes zeroed in on what resembled a small, wooden drum. She picked it up as she stood and turned it around in her hands, examining it. It was painted yellow and what she assumed were supposed to be small, dark brown, wooden wings on each side. The wooden totem thing had a wide, open-mouthed grin colored red painted on it and two black dots for eyes. She stared at it, wondering how it got here and where it could come from.
Suddenly, she heard a deep, slightly raspy voice say behind her, "oh, hey, you found Pappa."
Bixlow was angry at Evergreen, very angry. The two of them had decided to take a job in Crocus together because they were bored and had nothing else to do. Laxus wasn't in the mood for a job and Freed was too busy trying to find more books about some rare magic that had struck his interest. Apparently, he had only managed to find five books that focused on this rare magic. Bixlow wasn't interested enough to inquire what the rare magic was. He instead told Evergreen that it would just be the two of them and that he should grab an easy request. Evergreen had chosen a job request that was asking for at least two mages to escort some rich girl to a fancy party, then act as bodyguards for her until she was ready to leave, and finally, escort her back home.
Neither Fairy Tail mage was particularly interested in playing escorts and bodyguards, but it provided them with something to do. The reward was also quite good, five-hundred-thousand jewel. Evergreen had insisted that they travel to Crocus a few days before they were supposed to begin their job because she wanted to shop, much to Bixlow's dismay. He eventually gave in, deciding that he could find something to do, it is Crocus after all.
What he wasn't planning to do was get dragged around by Evergreen to every clothing store in Crocus just so he could carry her bags for her. This led to an argument that ended with Evergreen grabbing one of his "babies" and flying off with it. Bixlow had followed the fairy mage until eventually losing her when he ran into a crowd. He was finally able to find her at the hotel, but she didn't have Pappa with her. When questioned about where his small wooden totem was, the woman had said with her arms crossed and nose turned up into the air haughtily, "I dropped it."
"Where?" Bixlow had asked through clenched teeth.
Evergreen looked up at him, her brow furrowed and eyes slightly narrowed as a show of her annoyance. "Somewhere around a bunch of apartments and restaurants."
Bixlow had quickly decided that he didn't want to spend most of the day fighting with her, especially since one of his babies was laying on the ground somewhere and could be picked up by a little kid or passerby. He cussed at his partner under his breath as he ran out of the hotel to look around for Pappa.
He had been looking for much of the morning when he heard a yelp from across the street. He looked to see a young woman, a blonde, holding what looked like his missing totem. He crossed the street and walked closer to the blonde. He stopped when a was a few feet from her and leaned forward slightly to look at what she was examining in her hands. Sure enough, it was his baby."
Bixlow grinned and spoke in a voice that was louder than he meant to use, "oh, hey, you found Pappa."
The blonde jumped in surprise and whirled around to look at him. Bixlow froze when he saw her.
She was gorgeous.
Her blonde hair that reached just below her shoulders seemed to glow in the sunlight as if every strand had been woven from the sun itself. Her brown eyes, an enchanting sight that he could stare at for hours, had quickly gone from displaying surprise and slight fear to curiosity, possibly at both what he had just said and his attire. Her cheeks were flushed ever so slightly in a way that made her look even more lovely. Her forest green sheath dress hugged her curvaceous body beautifully. Around her hips was a brown belt with several keys on a key ring hanging from it, leading the seith mage to suspect that she was a mage too. His babies had taken refuge behind his back in response to his frozen state.
He was so transfixed on her beauty that he hadn't heard her calling to him until the young woman waved the small, wooden totem she holding in his face, asking, "Is this yours?"
Bixlow mentally slapped himself. He took a few moments to bring himself back to reality before answering, "y-yep! That's my baby!" He silently cursed at himself for stuttering and hoped that his voice hadn't actually sounded as strained as he thought it did.
The blonde chuckled before saying, "here" and handing it to him. Bixlow accepted his baby back. He rested it upright in his hand and watched the blonde's facial expression change to one of childlike amazement and wonder as she watched the small totem begin to rise in the air and fly around once more. The other four babies quickly joined their brother. Lucy laughed at them in amusement, extending one hand to Puppu and allowing it to land for a few moments before it began flying around the pair again.
Bixlow watched with a serene smile on his face. The blonde looked so pretty when she smiled that he didn't want to look away. The woman then looked up at him, asking in amused confusion, "did you call that totem your baby?" She pointed at Pappa, which had taken to resting almost affectionately on top of her head. The five totems repeated the word "baby."
The seith mage nodded, answering, "yeah, that's what I call these little guys, my babies. It's pretty weird, I know." The words "weird" and "know" were repeated.
The blonde shook her head. "I don't think it's weird. I actually think it's cute."
Bixlow looked at her, amazed that she hadn't scoffed and said that him calling his small totems his "babies" was weird or strange like so many people had done before. Was this the woman of his dreams? The fact that his heart's beating was picking up speed and the slight heat on his cheeks seemed to say so.
The blonde raised an eyebrow, asking with a small chuckle, "what? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Bixlow hesitated, suddenly unable to think of anything witty to say like he usually did. "Um...w-what do you mean?"
The blonde chuckled again. "You're looking at me like you're surprised."
The man continued to stare at her in that way. How was she able to tell? Only the bottom part of his face was visible. "How can you tell?" His question came out sounding unsure, much to his dismay.
The blonde answered with a sweet smile, "just because half of your face is covered doesn't mean I can't read your expression."
Bixlow was at a loss of words. He stared down at her, surprised that this young woman was so unlike many people he had met that thought him calling his totems his "babies" was weird, his choice of clothing was strange and off-putting, and his personality tended to be a bit too much. However, this young woman, who seemed to be a few years younger than him, thought that it was cute that he called his totems his "babies" and was having no difficulty talking to him, in fact, she seemed to be enjoying talking to him. He wanted to spend more time with her.
The blonde's question caught his attention, "what's your name?"
"Bixlow. What's yours?" He answered, guessing that her name was as pretty as her. His babies repeated his name.
"I'm Lucy."
Yep, he guessed right and he decided to tell her what he thought, "you have a very pretty name."
Lucy blushed at the compliment and looked away as she smile, causing Bixlow to smile at how beautiful she was, especially with a pink ting on her cheeks. She responded, still blushing and looking away, "thanks. I like your name too."
The two stood in a strangely comfortable silence, which was quickly broken when Bixlow caught sight of something gleaming on Lucy's belt. He looked down at her hip to see the several keys, colored gold and silver, that he had noticed earlier. He pointed at the keys and asked, "what are those?" The babies echoed the word "those."
Lucy looked down and then smiled up at him. "I'm a Celestial Spirit Mage. These keys are how I summon my celestial spirits. They are magical beings that can perform all sorts of tasks."
Bixlow noticed the way her eyes gleamed when he asked about her keys, making him believe that she cared about these celestial spirits of hers very much. "You really like your spirits, huh?"
Lucy nodded enthusiastically, answering with a large smile, "I love my spirits with all my heart. They are my friends." She then asked him, "what's your magic?"
"I can seal souls in objects that I am able to manipulate as I please. My babies can perform various tasks and attacks. I also have a type of Eye Magic called "Figure Eyes." I can take control of the souls of any person that makes eye contact with me and so, control their bodies as if they were dolls. Once I am done controlling them, I can release them from my control." After his answer, he gave her his signature grin with his tongue sticking out. Once again, his babies repeated after him.
Lucy nodded with a smile before she laughed at his strange way of grinning, obviously finding it amusing. She then said, "that's very interesting."
Bixlow could feel another blush creeping onto his face. His heartbeat picked up speed once again. He thought about asking her out but wasn't sure if she would be interested. Nevertheless, he decided that it wouldn't hurt to ask. In the worst-case scenario, he would gain a friend with whom he could spend an entire day talking to without getting annoyed. In the best-case scenario, he would gain a girlfriend.
Just as he was about to ask her out, Lucy gasped with her hand on one of her silver keys that was glowing slightly. Bixlow gave her a confused and worried look. Lucy looked up at him, panicked. She said hastily, "I'm so sorry, Bixlow! I'm late for work! I need to go! Bye!"
Bixlow watched as she ran off in the direction she had previously been walking. He was about to call after her to at least ask her if she wanted to hang out later, but she was too far away by the time his brain had caught up enough to react. He frowned. After he saw her retreating figure disappear, he turned around and began his walk back to his hotel, his babies flying around him with what seemed like glee.
As he walked, he began to think about Lucy. He thought about the conversation he had with her and how a date with her would probably go. He thought about waking up in the morning to see her beautiful face next to him. He thought about kissing her plump, lovely lips. These thoughts brought a soft smile to his lips. He eventually reached the hotel and walked into the room he was sharing with Evergreen, still smiling to himself as he continued to daydream about the blonde he had just met. He passed by Evergreen, who was sitting on her bed, and sat in the chair at the table that sat against the wall. He rested his elbow on the table with his chin resting in his palm.
Evergreen's giggling brought him out of his daydream. He turned to her, asking, "what?"
The brunette gave him a knowing smile. She turned back to her magazine before saying smugly, "you met someone."
Bixlow blushed before he grimaced, knowing that his partner would ask him continuously to tell her who it was that he met. He also knew that she would tell Laxus and Freed about this development once they returned to the guild.
He knew that he would not find peace from his friends for a while.
Lucy rushed into the cafe she worked at, stopping immediately when she saw that there was nobody inside. She grabbed her black apron and walked into the cafe as she tied it around her waist. She called, "Minnie?"
An aged voice answered from the kitchen, "ah, Lucy! I hope you didn't run into any trouble." The older woman walked out of the kitchen with a tray of freshly baked cookies. She placed the tray on the counter behind her and asked, "what's their name, dear?"
Lucy approached her, walking around the counter, and asked in confusion, "what?"
Minnie gave her an amused smile. "Oh, Honey, I know that look on your face. You just met someone, that's why you were late."
Lucy's blush that was calming down had renewed. She looked away. "I-I don't know what you mean."
Minnie chuckled. "I won't push it, but just know that if you need anybody to talk to, then I'm right here." Lucy looked at her and smiled, grateful to have found such a kind woman to work for. The older woman then said, "could you put these cookies in the case, please?" Lucy nodded and happily did as she was asked while Minnie walked back into the kitchen. Her thoughts turned to Bixlow. She quickly caught herself, blushing yet again at having thought about someone she had just met in a romantic way.
First Cana, and now Bixlow. What was going on with her? Why was she feeling this way about a man and a woman? Maybe she would take Minnie up on her offer of a talk.

Warnings: insecurities (feeling like you’re too clingy)
genre: angst to fluff
Other versions:
Laxus ~ Erik/Cobra ~ Bickslow ~ Gajeel ~ Natsu  ~ Jellal ~ Freed ~ Sting ~ Rogue
❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄
Gray had just come back from a job with Natsu and the crew and to say he was in a bad mood was putting it lightly. He wanted nothing more than to go home and go to bed.
It was no secret that he and Natsu weren't always on the best terms, but for some reason, he was working even more on his nerves putting the ice-magic user on edge.
If Erza wasn't there he would've punched the dragon slayer right there and then in the face, but he didn't want to deal with her wrath, so he just cropped it all inside.
After he grumbled a goodbye to everyone in the guild he made his way home, where you were patiently waiting. You knew how tired he gets after he went out on a job, so you decided to make his favourite food and even picked his favourite film to watch tonight.
Once Gray was home, you immediately greeted him by the door with a wide smile. "How was the job? I made your favourite food"
"I'm not hungry" He replied in a rather cold tone.
"Oh... Okay." You said a bit taken back by his tone and answer, but you didn't want to let that ruin the mood "How about we watch a film? I got your favourite"
"No, thanks," He declined once again as he made his way further into the house with you trailing behind."Is everything okay? We could just cuddle if you want?" You suggested carefully, noticing how tense he was.
"Fuck (Y/N)! Can't you see I want to be left alone?" He suddenly exclaimed making you flinch at the sudden rise in volume "I don't need you making me food, I don't need you picking up after me after I throw off my shirt, I don't need you to cling on me every second of the day! Can't you see that you're smothering me? You are not my mother so stop acting like one! It's like you're suffocating me. I can't go one minute without seeing you everywhere. Just give me some space, God damn it"
You took in his words carefully as you slowly nodded at his little outburst. If you looked over all your actions you couldn't help but feel like he was right. You were almost 24/7 with Gray, so he wasn't wrong. Had he always thought this and had it now only come out?
"I'm sorry" you softly spoke, afraid to set him off further. He ignored your apology and went to your shared bedroom, slamming the door shut after him. You once again flinched at the sudden sound. Tears start pricking in your eyes as your mind went over everything that just happened.
You didn't mean to smother him. To you, it seemed like small acts of kindness. You didn't mind cooking for him as it was something you enjoyed doing. He always threw his clothes God knows where, so you made sure to pick it up, so he wouldn't lose it. As for the attention, you didn't see yourself as a clingy girlfriend, but he was right that you were around him almost all the time. Being in the same guilt meant having the same friends and even going together on missions from time to time.
It wasn’t the first time you two had an argument. You knew he was just frustrated and stressed. Most of the time it blew over by the next morning, but this time it kept running through your head. You quietly grabbed your coat and made your way over to Lucy. You didn't want to upset Gray even more, so you decided to give him the space he wanted.
The next morning when Gray woke up, he noticed the cold spot where you normally laid. He frowned at not seeing your figure but just thought you had gone to guilt early to help Mira-Jane as you did from time to time.
He got dressed and wondered what he had made for you this morning only to see you had nothing prepared for him. As he looked around more he noticed that the plate with his favourite food was still on the table, along with the unwashed dishes in the sink. That was some very odd behaviour for you.
Maybe you had overslept and were in a rush this morning? He shook it off and went to the Guilt only to see that you weren't there either.
"(Y/N) and Mira went out to do some grocery shopping," Cana said as she noticed the frown on the boy's face.
"Gray! We have a new mission! Let's go!" Erza called out to him as Natsu sprinted out of the guilt followed by Wendy and Lucy who were laughing about something.
As the night fell the group got back from the job. Normally you would sprint up to Gray and engulf him in a hug, but today you hardly lifted your head at the sound of him coming back. You were carelessly chatting away with Cana as she chugged down another glass of wine.
“Hey, babe,” He said as he came up behind you and sneaked his arms around you.
“Oh hey,” You replied and gave him a small smile before continuing your story. When he noticed that even Cana looked at you two weirdly, he knew something was up.
“Can I talk to you for a second?” He asked.
“Oh, I just made plans with Levy to go out and get something to eat-“ He cut you off before you could completely deflect him “please?”
You nodded your head at him and followed him outside. You didn’t miss the reassuring Lucy had sent you and gave her a small smile back.
Once you were completely alone, Gray sighed heavily “Is something wrong?”
“No why?” You asked as you chewed the inside of your cheek nervously.
“You’ve been kinda off today, you didn’t even give me a kiss when I came back from the job. Why is that?” he clarified.
“I thought you needed more space” You answered softly as you stared at your feet.
“More space? Is this about the argument yesterday?” Your silence confirmed his question, making him take your hands in his “(Y/N), look at me. I am so sorry about yesterday. I was in a terrible mood and shouldn’t have worked it out on you”
“You were right though, I am too clingy,” You said softly.
“No, you’re not. You’re perfect. It was never my intention to make you feel insecure about that. I promise you I do not think you are smothering me. You’re just incredibly kind, and I was an asshole for making you feel that way.” He assured you.
“You really mean that?” You asked unsure.
“With all my heart. I really am sorry for making you feel that way, my love.” He apologized as he pulled you into a hug, not planning on letting you go anytime soon.
“Good, ‘cause I don’t know how long I would’ve lasted without hugging you” You mumbled in his chest.
His laughter vibrated against your cheek, making you automatically smile as well “You have no idea how much I love you”

A Fairy Tail Christmas Miracle- Ch. 1
Yes, I know, cheesy title is cheesy.
I was suddenly in the mood to do this, so I wrote the first chapter just a short while ago. This isn't really canon in my fanon-verse by any means, but it's just for the holiday.
And don't worry, there's a happy ending.
@thenaluarchive @rougescribe @petri808 @ljf613
December 24th, Year X784. Christmas Eve in Magnolia was usually such a magical and beautiful time. A time for families to huddle up against a warm fire, eating good food, and decorating their trees with all sort of colorful ornaments and tinsil garland.
However... this was not the case for the Fairy Tail Guild on this night. Instead of spending the night at the guildhall... they were out in the East Forest, holding lit lanterns as they traversed the snow-covered trails. They had spread out in different directions, but also made sure to stay close so as not to get lost... and as they did, they called out a name.
"NATSU~!!"
There was no response. Just the sound of the wind and the silence of the falling snow.
"Natsu?!" Romeo called as he held up a ball of Purple Fire while his father did the same. "Are you out there?!"
"Hey, Natsu, where are you?!" Macao asked.
"Answer us!!" Mirajane cried. "Please!!"
"Natsu! Where are you?!" Elfman shouted with usual manliness.
And yet, there was still no answer from the Salamander. Wendy was being carried by Carla, flying alongside Gajeel, who was being held aloft by Panther Lily, as well as Lisanna in her Take Over: Harpy Form.
"See anything yet?" asked Carla.
"Just snow, snow, and more snow!" Wendy answered.
"Dammit," Gajeel cursed. "It's freezin' cold out here! You'd think Salamander would at least some kinda trail!"
"He has to be around here, somewhere!" Lisanna called as she kept flying. "Keep looking!"
Down below, Erza looked around as she held up her lantern with Gray standing behind her. At that moment, Cana walked up to them with Juvia at her side.
"Any luck yet?" Gray asked.
"No," Juvia shook her head. "No sign at all."
"Not even tracks or anything," Cana replied.
"Keep looking," Erza urged. "There's bound to be something."
"Natsu!" Levy called out as she held up a lantern that she had made using her Solid Script while Jet and Droy walked behind her. "Answer us! If you're out here, give us a sign! Natsu!!"
"Natsu, honey?!" Elektra called as she walked alongside Makarov and Laxus. "Natsu!!"
"Where are you?!" Makarov shouted.
"Natsu!! Say something!!" Laxus called out, his coat flapping in the wind... and yet, there was still no answer. Nearby, Alzack and Bisca stood close together, their hands clasped around the hands of their little girl, who looked up at them with big, bright, and worried doe eyes.
"Mommy? Daddy?" she asked. "Where's Natsu?"
"That's why we're out here, darlin'," Alzack replied.
"I miss him," Asuka said, sadly. "I want him to come home."
"We miss him, too, sugar," Bisca said as she held him. "Look... it's cold out and it's past your bedtime. Maybe we should get you home, huh? You want Santa to bring you lots of presents, right?"
"No!" Asuka cried. "I don't wanna go home! I wanna find Natsu!"
The two Gun Wizards glanced at each other, sadness and concern welling up in their chests. They knew that Asuka must have been so tired, but they also knew that they couldn't just leave knowing another member of their family was lost. That's when Erza walked up and placed a hand on Bisca's shoulder.
"Take her home and make sure she gets plenty of rest," she told them. "We'll continue the search." She then knelt down in front of Asuka, gently cupping her face. "Asuka... I know you're very worried, but we promise we're going to find Natsu and bring him back home. Right now, you need to go home and get nice and warm and get some sleep, okay?"
"...You promise, Auntie Erza?" asked Asuka.
"I promise," Erza smiled as she stood up, and soon after, Alzack scooped his daughter into his arms and he and Bisca carried her off back to Magnolia.
Meanwhile, Blue Fang trudged his way through the deep snow, sniffing the ground for any kind of scent trail while he pulled a large sled behind him. In that sled was Haru, who sighed as she looked around with her oil lantern... and yet, she found nothing. No sign of her older brother, at all, and that only made her heart drop more. That's when she glanced back at the two passengers: Lucy and Happy.
The Celestial Spirit Wizard had the little blue coat wrapped up inside her coat, holding him close to her bosom to keep him warm. They both stared distantly into the forest, expressions of great worry on their faces. As Happy whimpered, Lucy gently stroked his head in an attempt to calm him down... even though deep down, she was trying not to panic.
Natsu left on a job 4 days ago... but he never came back. It wasn't even anything hard for him to do. Just defeat a gang of robbers in a neighboring town, and the reward was supposed to be quite hefty two. The town wasn't even that far, to begin with. He could have easily walked from Magnolia to there and back again... but he never turned up.
At first, everyone simply thought that maybe he decided to stay at an inn in the next town over... but when they got no such report and as time passed, they started to realize that something was definitely wrong. Thus, the search party was formed, and they spread out, searching all over the forest... but with the darkening sky and the encroaching snowstorm, things were starting to look bleak.
As Lucy looked up at the sky... all she could do was hope and wonder...
'Where are you, Natsu?'

A misfit's life - Ch 5
Link: AO3
Here you can find Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three, Chapter Four.
Poker
It had been two months since Freed left the hospital. He couldn’t say that he was completely used to his condition, but by now he had gotten over it and was trying to do his best not to be overwhelmed by sadness and anger. Working in the workshop helped him, as well as going out with friends and also shooting and beating the assholes.
He almost didn’t recognize himself anymore, by now he didn’t even have any qualms about stealing if he was short of money, most of the time he was the first to instigate a fight, especially if he met the asshole who had stabbed him. Laxus pulled him back most of the time before he started a fight, but Freed wasn’t always hanging around with him by his side now. He was tired of being an easy victim, he wanted people to be afraid of him, not of Laxus.
Freed came out of the workshop with the month’s money in his pocket, and immediately noticed a group of guys across the street watching him, evidently they knew that this was payday. Freed was tempted to pull out his gun and shoot them all, but before he could even try Bickslow and Evergreen joined him.
“Yo bro, let’s go party tonight?” Bickslow said cheerfully as usual. Freed continued to stare at the departing boys and felt his nerves throb in his temples. Why were they afraid of others and not him?
“Will you stop getting in trouble?” Evergreen snapped pulling his sleeve, noting that Freed had started walking towards the group. Freed growled through his teeth and wriggled away from the grip.
“Of course I’m coming,” Freed told Bickslow, ignoring Evergreen, who was looking at him obviously irritated. The girl, however, didn’t want to drop the subject.
“I understand that you wanna take revenge, but walking around alone is much more dangerous and you risk losing the other eye too,” she said venomously.
“Fuck you,” Freed snapped and the girl started to throw a punch at him, but Bickslow intervened.
“Not between us,” he said trying to calm them down.
“I’m right, Laxus says so too,” Evergreen snapped crossing her arms.
“Fuck him too,” Freed muttered. He was beginning to hate the treatment they gave him. True, he was the newcomer and wasn’t in their business, this didn’t mean that he was unable to fend for himself. Those weeks spent there had made him understand a lot of things, he now knew how to move.
“Freed, we’re just worried about you,” Bickslow said.
“You’ve no reason to,” Freed growled as he picked up his pace. He wasn’t in the mood, he realized he was acting like an idiot and an asshole but seeing those guys waiting for him outside the workshop had made him nervous.
“Impossible. Stop being proud, we all care for everyone and not just for you for who knows what beliefs”.
“Yet no one says anything if Laxus walks around alone,” Freed snarled.
“Fucker,” Evergreen muttered.
“Ain’t true. He doesn’t go around alone either. And if he does, he’s a dickhead like you,” Bickslow said. Freed pursed his lips nervously, honestly he didn’t care much about what other people were doing. He hated being dependent on them, he hated having to be protected and he hated being treated like a naive kid in constant danger.
“Look,” Bickslow sighed. “Surviving alone here is difficult, if not impossible. Everyone goes around in groups, no matter how strong you are. Our group exists because we trust and help each other all together. If you can’t get used to it then go alone, but then don’t complain if you lose the other eye,” he said harshly.
Freed didn’t answer, knowing Bickslow was right. He put his hands in the pockets and refused to apologize, but shot a meaningful glance at Bickslow, he thankfully understood.
***
Freed looked at the cards he was holding and glanced at his fellow players. Laxus was smoking a cigarette, Bickslow continued to have the usual grin on his face, while the other boys tried to keep an expression mostly neutral. It didn’t work very well, according to Freed. One thing they found was that Freed actually knew how to play poker. He had learned in college and thought he was pretty good. Well, he also knew how to count cards, but his teammates didn’t need to know.
“Fold” sighed Loke and ditched his hand in the burn pile.
“Out already, Loke?” Bickslow mocked with a satisfied smirk that concealed little of what he was holding. Freed doubted he was bluffing.
“Bad luck haunts me,” Loke said. “Ain’t too sad, on the other hand, those who are unlucky in the game are lucky in love. Freed, how about a drink just the two of us?” he asked clearly flirtatiously. Bickslow chuckled as Freed ignored him and called.
“You better be careful Loke, someone could electrocute you” Bickslow laughed and Gajeel and Evergreen giggled. Freed frowned and looked up from the cards only to see that Bickslow and Loke were looking at Laxus.
“I know how far I can go,” Loke laughed and leaned over to Freed, reaching for his arm. Freed let him do it, more interested in winning the game. “Besides, someone has to give him a wake-up call,” he added. Freed gave Loke another look, not understanding what he was referring to and Bickslow laughed again. Were they making fun of him? He wasn’t sure.
Laxus called interrupting their chat but Loke didn’t stop his flirting. Not that Freed cared, he was still focused on the cards.
“He doesn’t see you Loke, he’s too focused on cheating,” Laxus growled at one point. Freed looked up at him with an impassive expression.
“How would I cheat?” he asked.
“You count,” Laxus said. Freed was silent for a moment, wondering how he had figured it out. He hadn’t realized that Laxus was staring at him so intently. He quickly realized that lying would be stupid.
“Technically it’s not cheating,” he then said. Laxus raised an eyebrow.
“It is,” he retorted. “If you were in a casino, they’d have kicked your ass out by now,” he grunted, more irritated than he should have been.
“Luckily we’re not there,” Freed said with a smirk.
“I’ve always known counting is illegal,” Gajeel interjected, irritated maybe because he was losing and wanted to kick Freed out of the game.
“Bullshit,” Freed said.
“I agree with Freed” smiled Loke, leaning towards him flirtatiously. Laxus gave him a dirty look and Loke widened his smile. “Maybe the boy is waking up.”
“Maybe you should kiss Freed,” Bickslow chuckled. “But I don’t promise for your life.”
“What are you talking about?” Freed asked, observing his playmates. Evergreen had a smirk that she tried unsuccessfully to hide behind the cards, Bickslow was much less discreet as Gajeel rolled his eyes.
“You’re so naive,” he said. Freed pursed his lips in irritation, he wasn’t fucking naive. He turned his gaze to Laxus but the blonde’s jaw was clearly tense.
“There’s no point in getting angry if I’m more capable and luckier than you,” Freed said, thinking that was the reason. Laxus said nothing and Evergreen giggled again.
“I can’t believe it,” she murmured, amused.
“I said, he’s naive,” repeated Gajeel.
Freed decided to ignore their comments, he was no longer sure he was the victim of their jokes. He just kept playing cards, until they decided to quit with a win for Bickslow. Loke at the end of the game grabbed Freed’s arm and dragged him to the bar.
“Let’s go get a drink,” he offered and Freed followed. They ordered for everyone and Freed glanced again at the table, where Laxus was obviously annoyed talking to Bickslow. More than anything else it seemed that he was growling at him, while Bickslow giggled amused. Who knows what they were saying, Bickslow was probably bragging about winning poker.
“You could sleep with us tonight. After the bar we keep drinking and partying” Loke said with a provocative smile.
“Sorry Loke, but I’m not interested,” Freed said at that point, hoping he didn’t feel bad. He doubted however that could happen, Loke’s interests changed every day.
“Of course you ain’t.” Loke laughed and Freed frowned. If he knew, why the hell was he flirting with him all evening? He decided he didn’t want to know and took the drink, starting to drink as his gaze returned to Laxus. He still looked irritated as Evergreen was saying something to him. Suddenly Freed was curious, he wanted to know what they were talking about.
“You could end up in Laxus’ bed, he has more space,” Loke said and Freed spat out the drink.
“What the hell, Loke,” he growled feeling his cheeks flush.
“Come on, drinks are ready” Loke said taking the tray with the glasses and carrying it to the table. Freed followed him and hoped that Loke didn’t know about his light crush. There was no way that he knew, Freed had been very discreet. But even more, he hoped Laxus didn’t know.
Loke stole Freed’s seat and Freed was forced to sit next to Laxus.
“Another round of poker?” Bickslow asked.
“I’ve already lost enough money,” Loke retorted.
“I want a rematch,” Evergreen said instead. The others joined immediately and Freed started playing again, while Loke continued to pass him several drinks, so much so that after a while the boy’s mental faculties clouded and he decided to leave the game, also because he could no longer bluff.
He was not the only one. Laxus got tired quickly because he kept losing, and Evergreen was getting drunk faster than Freed had thought. Loke must have been as drunk as he was because he leaned on Freed’s shoulder.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to walk all the way home,” he mumbled.
“What? Do you wanna be carried by me?” Freed asked skeptical.
“Yes,” Loke smiled immediately.
“You’ll fall immediately,” Laxus grunted, giving them a dirty look.
“We won’t,” Freed objected.
“You both stagger,” Laxus pointed out as they stood up. Freed refused to lean on anyone, but Loke had grabbed his arm and was practically drooling on his shoulder.
“At least try to stay straight,” Freed said annoyed by his weight, which didn’t help his already precarious balance. Loke laughed slightly and straightened his back. He looked at Freed, looked at Laxus and then Freed again and laughed.
Laxus rolled his eyes. “Someone help him,” he growled in annoyance.
Freed joined Loke.
“Not you,” Laxus snapped annoyed.
“I can carry him,” Freed retorted, passing Loke’s arm over his shoulders. Loke had a hiccup and then ran his fingers through Freed’s hair, pushing aside the bangs and freeing the covered eye. Freed tensed slightly. He hated when someone did it, it reminded him of what states his face was in, and it was definitely not a pretty sight.
It wasn’t like Laxus’s scar which merely passed from one part of the eye to the other and which gave it an almost fascinating aura. Freed’s went directly into his eye, his pupil was cut and he couldn’t open it well, so people could practically only see the scar, which then extended even up to above his eyebrow.
Freed moved Loke’s hand badly, rearranging the bangs.
“You know, you’re attractive even so, you shouldn’t cover it up,” Loke said.
“You’re drunk, let’s go home,” Freed snarled not wanting to talk about that and dragging him out. With satisfaction he demonstrated to Laxus that he could both walk and take Loke with him. He walked a bit wrong and every now and then he had to stop, but he didn’t risk falling with his face on the ground.
They arrived at the building and climbing the stairs was another problem, so Bickslow took Loke, while Freed found himself with Laxus’ arm around his back, pushing him up the steps. Before long they arrived at his apartment and Freed greeted the others as he entered his apartment, followed by Laxus.
“You don’t need to stay here, I’m home by now,” Freed said. Laxus just snorted.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if you stumble upon your nightstand,” he objected. Freed didn’t reply and walked to his room. He didn’t even have the strength to take off his clothes, he threw himself into bed with his shoes still on. Laxus followed him and glanced at him. “I said so”.
Freed was about to retort that he hadn’t stumble but when Laxus sat on the bed and took off his shoes the words died in his throat. He was silent as the blonde threw Freed’s shoes on the floor, then pulled the blanket out from under Freed’s body and threw it on him.
“You’re strangely nice,” Freed said after a while.
Laxus snorted and blushed slightly.
“I just make sure you survive the night,” he objected. Freed laughed slightly.
“As if alcohol could kill me,” he retorted ironically.
Laxus turned to him and stared at Freed longer than necessary. He reached out to Freed’s bangs and brushed his hair back, freeing his face. His gaze lingered on the blinded eye and Freed placed a hand on Laxus’s wrist to move it, but the blonde remained still. He kept staring at him with eyes filled with guilt and silent apologies. Freed didn’t want to hear them.
“Loke’s right,” Laxus said after a while. Freed frowned slightly and blushed as he saw Laxus’ face approach. “You’re really attractive,” he whispered. Freed couldn’t say anything, suddenly his throat was dry and his heart was beating furiously in his chest.
Laxus lowered himself even more, his breath tickling Freed’s face now. Then he gently placed his lips on him, giving him the sweetest kiss Freed had ever received in his entire life. He closed his eyes and let himself be lulled by the rough and gentle lips of Laxus, by his fingers that brushed his face with an incredible sweetness.
Freed couldn’t believe that Laxus’ strong hands could touch him so gently, as if he were almost afraid to push too hard. When Laxus lifted his face Freed opened his eye again, looking intently at Laxus.
“You’re beautiful,” Laxus whispered so softly that Freed could hardly hear him. It seemed that Laxus was afraid of doing something wrong. Freed smiled and wrapped his arms around Laxus’ neck.
“You too,” he murmured. He saw the blond’s cheeks blush and Freed craned his neck to kiss him again. Laxus lay on top of him pressing their bodies against each other and Freed’s stomach twisted with emotion.
Laxus was truly beautiful, and he was touching him with a delicacy that Freed would not have attributed to him. The blond’s hands were resting gently on his hips, the kiss was soft and slow, his eyes full of emotions every time they detached only to kiss again a moment later. Everything was perfect. It was just the two of them moving calmly, as if time had stopped just for them. Just to let them enjoy that intimate moment without any rush.
Laxus broke the kiss and rested his forehead on Freed’s, breathing slowly as his fingers caressed Freed’s abdomen.
“Do you sleep here?” Freed asked.
Laxus nodded and moved to take off his shoes. He put his hands on his belt and glanced at Freed, as if he were asking permission. Freed just nodded and Laxus took off his jeans and sweatshirt to lie down beside him under the covers.
“Do you sleep with your clothes on?” Laxus asked quietly.
“I… yes?” Freed asked.
“As you wish. We ain’t to do anything you don’t wanna do,” Laxus whispered. Freed looked at him in surprise, then took off his jeans and sweatshirt and threw them out of bed. He approached Laxus and the boy hugged him in his arms leaning his forehead against him. His hands were warm and his body was welcoming.
“You’re fantastic,” Laxus murmured. Freed smiled with his heart bursting with joy and closed his eyes almost not believing what was happening. He fell asleep shortly after in Laxus’s arms, dreaming of his lips all night.

Summary: Bickslow loved Halloween; he always had. So when his first Halloween in college happened when he was sick, he was less than pleased. But thankfully, his new roommates were kind of amazing and knew how to make it up to him.
Notes: Hey all. This is part of my Raijinshuu Building series, set in a college dormitory. You don’t need to read the previous fic, but it might help with context. I hope you all enjoy it. Also, given there's a bit of Fraxus in this, I'll consider it the Halloween submission for @fuckyeahfraxus Fraxus Day event.

Sick, Spooked, Surprised
Bickslow was really trying to prove a point, and it wasn't working very well.
The point he was trying to make was that he was feeling fine, and that the cold he'd been dealing with for the past few days had passed. The reason it wasn't going very well was that his head was spinning, his body aching, and a near constant spluttering of coughs continued to leave his mouth without his consent. It slightly undermined his point and made arguing with Freed particularly difficult.
Freed, who apparently took illness rather seriously, had taken it upon himself to act as Bickslow's nurse over the last few days. He'd consigned him to his bed, refused to let him go to his classes, and was currently telling him to get back into his pajamas because there was no way he was going out that night.
Which might have been fine, but it was Halloween! Halloween.
For a man like Bickslow, Halloween was a holiday cut above the rest. You got drunk on weirdly coloured drinks, you played games and danced with strangers, and you wore costumes and just had a good time. It was the best day of the year, and Freed the Dictator was trying to force him to skip it.
"I'm fine," Bickslow tried to argue, but the nasal voice was evident even to him. "Just need to flush it out of my system."
"If by 'flush it out of my system', you mean go to bed and continue to rest until you start to actually recover, then I agree," Freed said, leaning on the kitchen counter with an unflappable expression. "But if you mean you'll pretend you're okay, go to a party despite your body clearly not being ready for that, eventually call me, Laxus or Evergreen to come and get you, then I completely disagree and I'm incredibly irritated by you."
"You're such an old man," Bickslow grumbled, and Freed raised an eyebrow as if to challenge him. Bickslow's head hurt too much to rise to it. "Fine, you're not an old man. You're a hot-ass son of a bitch who's kinda grumpy. Better?"
"Slightly," Freed hummed. "Now, go to bed."
"Make me," Bickslow crossed his arms.
"I very easily could," Freed pushed off the counter and walked towards Bickslow. "The state that you're in currently, I expect I'd only have to clap my hands near your ears and your head would hurt so much you'd be debilitated beyond saving yourself."
"You wouldn't dare," Bickslow gasped as he crossed his arms, playing up his fear just a little.
"I wouldn't need to, if you had any sense of self preservation," Freed grunted, apparently not in the mood to play along with Bickslow. When he spoke again, it was in an annoyingly parental tone. "Now you need to go to bed, Bickslow. You're practically dead on your feet."
"You sound like my Pa," Bickslow mumbled.
"And would you listen to him?"
"Not on Halloween," Bickslow said, petulantly.
Freed went to say something more, but the door from the stairwell opened and Laxus walked through, clearly having just gotten back from one of his classes. As always his eyes immediately flickered towards Freed - pining moron, how had Freed not seen it yet? - but then he quickly looked towards Bickslow. He spoke as he walked inside. "You feeling better, man?"
Both Bickslow and Freed spoke at the same time, seemingly disagreeing on Bickslow's state of wellness. Laxus sighed, as this wasn't the first time Freed and Bickslow had argued over this disagreement, and walked towards Bickslow. He was clearly trying to see if Bickslow was feeling good. Bickslow squared his shoulders, met Laxus' gaze and tried to convey so much confidence that Laxus might somehow be tricked into thinking that Bickslow's nose wasn't running.
"Get into bed, Bicks," Laxus stated. "You're gonna faint if you don't."
"Don't be dramatic," Bickslow grumbled, looking away from them both. "You know I'm going to go out in matter what you say, right? You can't stop me."
"We probably can't," Laxus agreed, nodding and placing a hand on Bickslow's shoulder. He started guiding him to his room, and Bickslow couldn't find the energy to fight him. "But if you're gonna go out, you're definitely taking a nap now, or you'll fucking die out there. You understand me?"
"Yes dad," Bickslow muttered.
"I thought I was your father here?" Freed mused, apparently amused.
"You're both my dads. My gay dads who love each other," Bickslow grumbled, and was very happy when Laxus glared at him. If they were going to bully him for being sick, he was going to bring up their stupid crushes on one another. That seemed fair.
A moment later, Bickslow found himself in his room, Laxus with him. A shame; Bickslow had hoped the first time he had a hunk in his room, they might be more nudity and less snot involved. Laxus very gently, very fatherlyly, guided him to his bed, pushing him down and covering him in his duvet. Bickslow involuntarily buried his face into the pillow and snuggled into the covers; the warmth and low light of his little room really was nice.
He heard scuffing around, and only realised he had closed his eyes when Laxus spoke again. He blinked his eyes open and tried to understand what Laxus had said - it was all sort of muffled in his ears. Laxus was looking at his costume, which hung from the bathroom door.
"What?" Bickslow asked, frowning.
"I said you put a lot of effort into this," Laxus commented, stroking the costume. "Looks great."
"I take Halloween seriously," Bickslow shrugged, nuzzling the pillow again. "Best Holiday of the year. Makes Christmas look like a lil bitch."
Laxus snorted a laugh, stepping back from the costume. He looked at Bickslow with an expression of sympathy, and spoke again. "Sorry you're feeling shitty today, but it's for the best that you're in bed."
"I'll still go out," Bickslow protested, but even he knew he wouldn't.
"Sure ya will," Laxus grinned a little. "G'night, Bickslow."
"Night," Bickslow yawned, and when Laxus flicked off the night, he reminded Bickslow so much of his Pa that he had to speak again. "Daddy."
"Shut the hell up, Freak," Laxus grinned, closing the door.
Left alone, Bickslow cuddled into his bed and allowed himself to sleep.
---
November 12th
Bickslow absentmindedly nodded his head as he walked towards the Raijinshuu Building, managing to listen to both Evergreen's complaints about another influencer who was apparently trying to start drama with her, as well as the music he was blasting in his headphones. He was trying to pay attention to Evergreen, but she had voiced her complaints about Erza for quite a while now, and it was getting a tiny little bit annoying.
They walked into the building side by side, and Bickslow was glad to be out of the cold. Throughout his time tucked away in his room, he had been thinking wistfully about the feeling of the wind on his face. Only now, as he walked back from his classes for the first time in weeks, did he remember how cold it could get this time of year.
If he got another cold, he was going to scream.
As they walked into the elevator, Bickslow decided that maybe he should actually try and pay attention to Evergreen again. He was only annoyed with her because he was still not pleased that he had been forced to miss the nightclubs on halloween. While he'd forgiven his newly acquired father figures - they didn't like it when he called them both dad, so he was of course going to do it more often - he still wished he could have attended at least one of the parties. In his mind, Halloween was going to be his debut in the Magnolia party scene, and he was going to take the city by storm. Needless to say, it hadn't gone his way.
When he looked towards Evergreen, he realised she had stopped talking and was looking at the doors while fiddling her hands. It was weird, and Bickslow didn't like it. What was she nervous about?
The elevator opened before he could broach the subject, and Evergreen walked towards their accommodation's door with a level of intensity and speed that really didn't seem needed. He jogged to keep up with her, confused even more when she stumbled to get the key in the lock. It looked like she was a moment away from exploding, until she unlocked the door and her body relaxed entirely. Weird.
"You okay?" Bickslow asked.
"Yes," She smiled at him, as if she was perfectly fine all of a sudden. "Go inside."
"Why?" Bickslow laughed a little at the order.
"Because if you don't I'll scream," Evergreen retorted, smiling.
"Okay weirdo," Bickslow shrugged.
Doing as told, he pushed open the door to their kitchen, halting as he walked through the threshold.
The kitchen was decorated. Heavily decorated. The walls were covered both in orange and black streamers and fake cobwebs. The worktops and dining table were filled with pumpkins, cauldrons and fake spiders. Paper bats were hanging from the ceiling, and the normal lights had been replaced by lanterns and orange projectors. Laxus' bluetooth speaker was blasting out halloween music pretty damn loud, and Bickslow felt a giddy thrill flowing throughout him as he walked further inside.
Freed and Laxus were standing in the middle of the room, both wearing costumes. Freed had gone full gothic vampire, with a pretty hot looking blood-stained suit, a long red cape, and fake teeth that weirdly added to his vibe. Laxus made one sexy looking viking, with a fake axe strapped to his back and his hair covered by a horned hat.
"Is this-" Bickslow began, dropping his bag to the floor. "Did you- for me?"
"It felt cruel to leave you deprived of at least one party," Freed said in explanation. "Like taunting a puppy with food then starving it."
"You guys are the best," Bickslow beamed. "And ya know what's gonna happen now, right?"
"What?" Laxus asked, a little cautious.
"Group hug, obviously!" Bickslow exclaimed.
Immediately, he gathered his roommates into a hug and crushed them as best he could, because they deserve a nice strong hug. It couldn't last too long, of course, because very suddenly he realised that he was at a Halloween party thrown especially for him, and he was wearing jeans and a tee. That was totally unacceptable in every way - morally, ethically and physically - and it needed to be amended immediately.
He pushed his amazing friends away, and scampered towards his room, ignoring the shot of pain that flickered through him when he slammed his knee into the door. Just before he stumbled into his room, he turned and looked towards Evergreen, who was also without costume.
"If you don't dress up I'm donating to Erza's ," He threatened, grinning at the afonted look on her face before slamming his door shut.
Despite wanting to get to partying as quickly as he could, he took his time while dressing in his costume. He had created a pirate ensemble that was going to make the costume designer for Pirates of the Caribbean feel like they had wasted their life, and the makeup was a big part of the overall effect. He would not ruin the first party of his college life because of bad eyeliner.
Once he was dressed, he checked himself out in the mirror to be sure he looked good: of course he did. He then went to open the door to the kitchen, not even trying to fight back his grin.
His friends had thrown him a Halloween party! They were amazing!
With giddy excitement, he opened the door and walked into his party.
---
Two Hours Later
The party was incredible, and Bickslow was loving every moment of it.
Freed, Laxus and Evergreen had apparently all worked together to create a kickass party, and it had worked so damn well. It had the exact right level of spookiness, cheesiness, drunkenness and hornyess - mainly from Freed and Laxus, who kept stealing glances at each other - that Bickslow had been craving for the past couple of weeks. Even though it was just the four of them, it had the same energy as a nightclub, and Bickslow loved it.
He didn't know what his favourite part was. The beer-fuelled game of Cards Against Humanity? The drinking game where they had to pick between a cup of Mountain Dew or a green punch that looked exactly the same, and was more alcoholic than any drink had any right to be? Or maybe it was what was happening now, with Laxus strumming manically at his guitar while he and Evergreen screamed out an off key cover of It's My Life.
They both had been very bad at the drinking game, that was probably the only reason they were doing it.
Freed sat beside Bickslow, and it was incredibly amusing to see him flick his cape up just before he sat down so it wouldn't be crushed below him. Bickslow immediately convinced himself that this wasn't the first time Freed had worn a cape, and from this point onwards he would believe that Freed was a secret cosplay mastermind and nobody could convince him otherwise.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" Freed asked, voice a little hoarse from the drinks.
"Hell yeah, baby," Bickslow cheered, raising his half drunk glass of punch. "This is kickass. It's awesome."
"I'm glad," Freed hummed. "I must admit, I felt a little at sea with this. I was tasked with decorations and most of the ideas I had were from Pinterest, so it could have been somewhat cliche. What a horrible website that is."
"You kicked ass, man," Bickslow assured him, nudging his shoulder in a gesture of support. "You never been to a Halloween party?"
"No, the opportunity never presented itself," Freed shrugged.
"Then you better make the most of tonight then," Bickslow demanded, rather than dwelling on the absolute tragedy that was a man Freed's age never going to a Halloween party. "And next year I'll take you to a nightclub and get you drunk enough you'll be vomiting pumpkin flavoured vodka."
"If you insist," Freed chuckled to himself.
"So, if you were decorating, what were your little helpers doing?"
"Laxus was in charge of the entertainment, which I'm glad about. Drinking games and impromptu karaoke are better than the games I had planned. I doubt trying to convince you peeled grapes were actually eyeballs would be quite as fun," Freed laughed a little, and Bickslow grinned. He would have enjoyed that. "And Evergreen decided she would spend most of the time recording us as me and Laxus worked, for her YouTube channel. I assume the video will be uploaded tomorrow."
"Well, she does get good views when the two of you are with her," Bickslow chuckled. "And if you were wearing those costumes, you'll be click bait for all the thirsty viewers she has. It'll be trending."
"You're ridiculous," Freed laughed, then frowned. "When you said they were my helpers, what did you mean?"
"Assumed you were in charge," Bickslow shrugged, spilling a little of the punch on the sofa. "You're bossy."
"And you're an idiot," Freed grinned, an expression that he would probably have hidden if he weren't at least tipsy. That was something Bickslow was going to work on; Freed needed to be less of a stick in the mud when he was sober. "But, to give him his credit, this was Laxus' idea. He was most certainly in charge."
"Laxus huh?" Bickslow mused, glancing towards the man. "Why'd he do it?"
"Apparently he saw how much effort you'd put into your costume and realised how important Halloween was to you," Freed explained, and Bickslow smiled a little. Laxus was softer than he portrayed himself to be. "It was a shock when he suggested it to me, I must admit. I met his grandfather the day he moved in, and he told me that Laxus could be prickly at the best of times and that he wanted me to try and befriend him."
"Don't tell him that, he'll explode," Bickslow chuckled. "Maybe he just likes us."
"Maybe he does," Freed agreed.
They were quiet for a moment, watching as Laxus and Evergreen finished their cover of It's My Life and moved onto a somehow even louder and more off key version of Titanium. They were definitely going to be getting a noise complaint tomorrow, but Bickslow didn't give a damn. Especially when he had a front row view of Laxus, drunk off his ass but playing his guitar expertly, gyrating his hips without a care in the world. The man could dance.
Glancing towards Freed, Bickslow barked out a laugh. The poor little vampire was doing everything but drooling at the display. The idiots really did need to either get going and make out, or at least be less obvious about their crushes,
"Maybe I should do something to thank him," Bickslow mused. "Maybe Laxus likes spin the bottle, or seven minutes in heaven. That's a good party game."
Freed slowly turned to Bickslow, and he glared at the expression of open glee staring back at him. Bickslow wasn't the most subtle man in the world, and as such had openly stated he knew of Freed's attraction to Laxus. They'd had conversations about it before, mostly with Bickslow saying he should just talk to Laxus, and Freed saying that he didn't have time for relationships no matter if Laxus reciprocated his attraction or not. Whenever Bickslow spoke to Laxus about the same thing, he got pretty much the same reaction.
"You won't do that," Freed stated firmly. "And keep your voice down."
"You think they can hear us over their singing," Bickslow laughed. "And imagine how happy you'll both be, getting a little kiss from your crush."
"Please stop," Freed asked, sighing.
"Maybe you slip in a little tongue and see where it goes."
"If you don't stop talking about this, I will take the cauldron of punch and pour it down your pants," Freed threatened.
"If you did that, I'd make your life hell," Bickslow threatened back, though was laughing. If Freed did carry out his threat, Bickslow would honestly be too impressed with him to care. Still, he wouldn't let himself be distracted. "Why don't you just ask him out for coffee when you both sober up, baby? Say you wanna celebrate how good a job you did and hope you end up having a smooch or something."
"Let it go, Bickslow," Freed sighed. After a moment, and with slightly reddened cheeks, he spoke again. "Though, I must admit, it was pleasant spending time with him planning things."
"Oh really," Bickslow grinned. "Lots of planning dates? Hands touching over the punch bowl. Longing looks in the costume store."
"You're intolerable," Freed sighed. "And be warned, the moment you show the slightest interest in anyone then I will be so much more unbearable than you could believe."
"Hate to break it to ya, Freedy, but that day ain't coming," Bickslow cackled. "I'm the kinda guy who you happened to meet once, you have a jaw dropping, amazing time with, and then spend the rest of your life wishing you could feel the rush of being in my company again," He took a drink, grinning. "I'm basically a jump scare with laughter and orgasms."
The look of confusion on Freed's face made Bickslow cackle.
---
Four Hours Later
Bickslow loved his friends, but they apparently were not party people.
While he could happily go on partying throughout the night, his roommates apparently had a limit. Evergreen had crashed out first, curling up on one of the sofas with a cushion trapped in her arms. Her fairy costume was in a slight disarray, and Bickslow would have paid a lot of money to put her messy state on her Instagram, just to annoy her.
Freed had gone next, and it had been while he and Laxus were watching a video on Laxus' phone. This had created a perfect situation where Freed's head had fallen onto Laxus' shoulder, and the poor man had a genuine Gay Panic. Bickslow had never seen it in person.
Laxus eventually drifted off himself though, and as he hadn't moved for fear of disrupting Freed, his cheek was now resting against the crown of Freed's head. It was far too adorable, and Bickslow had been forced to take a picture of them.
Poor guys, all tuckered out after their party.
Thankfully for them, Bickslow had an extensive blanket collection. He first wrapped a small red one around Evergreen, who grabbed it in her sleep and cuddled into it. Next, a large purple one around the lovebirds, who seemed to get even closer together. Too cute.
Yeah; these idiots were his idiots. For now and for ever.

Pick-Up Lines
Summary: Gajeel hits Reader with a pick-up line that’s just a little out of line causing Reader to slap him for being inappropriate. All is well in the end when Reader and Gajeel make a deal.
TW/CW: Gajeel Redfox x Reader. Dirty pick-up line. Reader slaps Gajeel. Angsty Gaj.
Requested?: No
Word Count: 1,315
A/N: I started this out with a happy, funny, path in mind but that path somehow managed to make a detour though Angstville. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Gajeel and Laxus tie for my favorite in Fairy Tail so I felt it was only fair to do an imagine for him too. This was prompted but I tweaked the prompt slightly. It’ll be in bold as usual. Anyways, requests are open and love to all!
Tumblr media
Your POV
As I enter the Guild Hall, I look around for a certain metal head and thankfully don’t see him. Thoughts of him invaded my brain the entire time I was gone on a job all because of his stupid pick-up lines that he constantly bombards me with. The weird thing is, if he’s not testing pick-up lines on me, then he’s picking on me and it annoys me to no end. Especially considering I have a massive crush on him. I take a seat at the bar and smile as Mira makes her way over, “Hello (Y/n)! What can I get ya?” I order a drink and soon after she hands it to me, my Thunder Legion teammates are calling me over to join them at one of the tables while they watch Natsu and Gray bicker at the one beside them.
I sit down beside Evergreen with my back turned to the table like her as we laugh as Natsu and Gray hurl halfhearted insults at each other. Bickslow drops down onto the bench from his previous seat on the table and leans over to whisper in my ear, “Bet you’re sad he’s not here, huh?”
I elbow him in the ribs, “Shut up, Bic. I’m not in the mood.”
Ever giggles on my other side, “I’m sure he’ll turn up soon. He always does when (Y/n) is around.” Soon, for some reason, Natsu and Gray are challenging Droy and Jet to a pose off. Happy is flying above them to referee. At the other table, Levy and Lucy have their heads together reading a book and Juvia is drooling over Gray as per usual. Out of the corner of my eye, I notice the Guild door open but don’t notice who comes in. Ever and I are talking about the job we just got back from when Panther Lily hops up on the table across from us to inquire about what the girls are reading. Butterflies swarm around my stomach as I realize who had entered the Guild moments before. I silently hope that he has other business to tend to and won’t talk to me.
Just when I think my luck is good today, the table shifts a little bit and someone sits down behind me with one leg to either side of me and he pokes his head into view between me and Ever, “You know (Y/n), you’re so hot that my zipper is falling for you.” Ever gasps and several people around us giggle. I can feel a blush spread across my cheeks as I stand, slap Gajeel across the face, and then stomp over to the Request Board to find another job so I can get the hell out of here.
As my eyes roam the board, Lily steps up beside me, “I tried to tell him that pick-up line was no good but he won’t listen to me. A red handprint on the face on the other hand, now that’s a teacher you can’t ignore.”
    I sigh, “Did I overreact?”
“Considering that line stepped across a certain line in the sand he seems to have been toeing lately, no. However, I do encourage you to give him a chance. He may be a complete idiot sometimes but he has a good heart that seems to be entirely in love with you. He simply does not know how to show it,” he responds, and I can feel him observing me, “And if I’m not mistaken you feel the same for him.” I hear Lily leave and drop my head to look at the floor. I probably shouldn’t have been so harsh on him, that line just threw me for a loop. I expected something but I didn’t expect it to be so dirty and loud, usually he just mumbles them so only I hear. I sigh and head back to the bar.
I find that he also had the same idea as he’s seated on a stool with a bright red handprint on his cheek. Feeling guilty I lightly trace the print, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to slap you so hard.” He sets his glass back down on the bar and just as I’m about to pull my hand away he takes it in his and kisses my knuckles.
He returns back to his drink, letting my hand go, and stares at the wall ahead of him, “It’s okay, tiny. I crossed the line. I probably should’ve saved that one for if I actually manage to win you over one of these days.”
I grab one of the barstools and place it closer to him so that when I hop onto it I can lay my head over on his shoulder. It’s quiet for a moment as thoughts bounce chaotically around in my head. Finally, I decide to say something, “I honestly thought you’d never feel the same way I do.”
He glances down at me, “How could I not? Did you really think I wouldn’t fall in love with the way you always have your teammates’ backs or the way you kick ass every time you fight even if it looks like you’ll lose. You never give up or back down. There’s also the way you always act like everyone annoys the hell out of you but when it comes down to it you’re there whenever they need you as soon as they need you. Hell, I even fell in love with the way you look so adorable when you get angry. That’s why I always pick on you.”
He hesitates before continuing, “But I just managed to push you away. I always break things. I don’t even like myself sometimes so I don’t know why I thought you might be interested in me. You’re too good for me. You’ve always been good.” It’s now that I realize he’s beating himself up over his past. I turn my head and place my chin on his shoulder so that I can look at him. He’s staring down at the bar and I can tell he’s fighting back tears.
“It’s funny that the reasons you fell in love with me are the same reasons that made me love you. Gajeel you’ve always been one of my favorite people around here even if you do annoy me sometimes. I think there’s a lot that you still need to learn about me because my past isn’t as pristine as you and everyone else thinks it is,” I pause, trying to decide how to ask this, “Truth be told I’ve always admired the way you’ve redeemed yourself and I never thought I’d be good enough for you. So, if I think I’m not good enough for you and you think you’re not good enough for me, how about we say they cancel out?”
He’s quiet for a few moments so I decide to try to ask this his way, “Gaj, I’m no photographer but I can definitely picture us together. This causes him to look over at me with a grin plastered on his face but I’m not done, “I like your shirt, it looks like it’s made out of boyfriend material.” He laughs now so I keep going, “Life without you is like a broken pencil, pointless.”
Finally, he pops off with his own line, “We’re not socks, but I think we’d make a great pair.”
It’s at this moment that Panther Lily hops onto the bar and makes his way over to us, “Is this your two’s way of asking to start a relationship?” Gajeel and I look at each other and then back at Lily and grin, nodding our heads.
Lily rolls his eyes and wanders off as Gajeel turns his attention back to me, “This means your mine now, right tiny?”
I giggle, “I’ll be yours as long as you’ll be mine.”
    He grins again, “Deal.”

Envious Farewell
Her fingers tapped her chin as her eyes trailed over the Request Board, searching for a job that would put an end to her boredom while Freed finished up with the Raijinshuu and whatever it was that they were discussing with Master Makarov. There were a lot of them she wasn’t allowed on, mainly the ones that involved a lot of contact with humans, so she stuck to the monster hunting ones. She was good at that, at least.
Just when she spotted one she liked — something about wyverns invading Clover — an olive skinned hand slammed down on the paper, making her turn to face an almost vicious grin and red serpentine eyes. She scowled back at the Dragon Slayer, her upper lip pulling back in a small snarl. His grin only widened.
“Gihi, whatcha got there, demon?” Gajeel asked, snatching up the paper to read its contents. Pantherlily gave him a disapproving look, which went ignored. “Monster huntin’ again? Who’s going with ya?”
She went to grab the flyer, only for him to pull it back with another of his signature laughs. She growled in annoyance, feeling the markings on her arms grow hot, and took a deep breath to calm herself. “None of your business, Redfox.”
“Oh, so you were sneakin’ out without yer boyfriend knowing, huh?” Gajeel snickered at the look on her face. “Yer still on probation, little lady,” He pointed out, pointing down at the monitor clamped around her right ankle, “which means ya have to be accompanied on these things.” He waved the sheet of paper in his hand.
Since when did that delinquent enforce the law in the guild? Fuck, she wanted to punch his smug face so badly. She glanced over at the Raijinshuu in hopes that she could do so without them noticing, but Freed was watching the two of them intently, his green eyes flicking back and forth. She sighed and turned back to face Gajeel, racking her fingers through her hair.
“Fine.”
She squawked in indignation when he reached out to ruffle her hair, moments away from clawing at his face before he ducked away with Pantherlily to fill out the needed paperwork. Huffing, she sat down at one of the empty tables, resting her cheek on her fist as her eyes fell upon the Raijinshuu’s table again. Freed was staring daggers at the back of Gajeel’s head, a disgruntled expression on his face. She could feel his annoyance through their bond.
Her other hand slipped into her pocket and her fingers curled around the little remote. Her thumb hovered over the button as she watched Master Makarov leave their table, Evergreen arguing fervently about something with Bickslow while Laxus sighed deeply. Freed was still distracted, half listening to the argument while watching Gajeel fill out the permission papers with envious eyes.
She pressed down.
Freed jolted in his seat, gasping sharply as the toy inside him started buzzing pleasantly against his prostate. His green eyes instantly locked onto hers, wide in alarm as his mouth fell open. She giggled to herself, grinning cheekily and increasing the speed. A soft pink colored his cheeks and he sat very still, his fingers gripping onto the table until his knuckles turned white.
A shiver ran down her spine, an echo of his own pleasure travelling through their bond. She sighed softly, watching his chest heave as he struggled to breathe properly without uttering a sound. She leaned more of her weight on her arms over the table, her core throbbing and growing wetter and her master’s pleasure increased. As much as she wanted to go to his table and take him away, she couldn’t do that in front of their little Thunder God.
Speaking of, Laxus tilted his head slightly and looked around the guild hall, most likely searching for the source of the quiet buzzing. Finally, his eyes fell on a trembling Freed, who curled up in his seat with a mortified look on his face. The blond blinked at him for a moment before it clicked and his eyes snapped over to meet hers.
The demoness stared back at the lightning mage and promptly pressed the button again to increase the intensity of the vibrations. Freed flinched as if struck and bit down on his bottom lip harshly, wide eyes focused on the table. A disturbed yet amused expression took over Laxus’ face and he shook his head. No sooner than he’d made a dismissive gesture with his hand, Freed was nearly sprinting in her direction and pulling her into the bathroom.
She grinned widely as she was pushed against the wall, the door closed and locked behind them. Freed pressed their lips together in a desperate, open mouthed kiss that made the hair on the back of her neck stand on end. He sucked her bottom lip into his mouth, his soft hands cradling her jaw. She sighed into the kiss, tilting her head to brush her tongue against his and wrapping her arms around his waist to tug him closer before flicking the vibrator to a higher speed.
Freed cried out, breaking away from the kiss. A soft purr came from her throat as she licked away the strands of saliva hanging between their lips. She slid a hand down his front to cup bulge of his erection through his pants and buried her nose behind his ear, her eyes fluttering shut as she submerged herself in his scent.
His hips bucked into her hand, his hands sliding under her shirt to run over the soft expanse of her stomach and settle under her clothed breasts— ever the gentleman. She traced the sharp edge of his jaw with her tongue and blew over the moist skin, causing him to shudder. Freed bit his lip and tilted his head back, letting the demoness lick, nip and suck at the unblemished skin of his neck all she wanted. She let out a delighted little sound, taking off the rubber band from his hair to thread her fingers through the soft strands.
Lapping at the fluttering pulse thrumming just under his flesh, she undid the buttons of his pants and pushed down his underwear with her free hand to reveal his weeping erection. Freed popped open the buttons of his shirt, allowing her to nose at the markings branding his collarbones which trailed down his torso. Her markings.
She curled her fingers around his shaft and gave swift, even strokes while nibbling on his collarbones. Freed moaned softly, bucking his hips into her fist and running his hands along her sides. She pressed a kiss against his pulse and swiped her thumb over the head of his cock, smearing more precum over his length.
“I wish I could go with you,” She grumbled into his skin, nuzzling her face against his throat. Then, she grinned, “But you always let me get away with everything, and that’s a big no-no from the Council.”
Freed huffed, cheeks red as he looked at her, “Not everything.”
She raised her eyebrows and tightened her fingers around his cock, making his hips snap forwards with a strangled curse leaving his lips. She didn’t correct him, if only to keep him from getting into one of his moods— a petty little thing he is.
“I wish I could go with you.” She repeated, prepping kisses over the side of his face, “We’d have fun like last time. Keep you warm and snug inside my pussy during the night, wake you up with my mouth around your cock in the morning,” Freed whimpered at her words and his pleasure doubled, making her grin grow even as her walls fluttered around nothing. “Would you like that, beautiful?”
“Yes.” Freed moaned, “God, yes.”
A pleasured shiver racked her spine and she dropped to her knees in front of him. She ran the flat of her tongue along the underside of his cock. Freed groaned and buried his hands into her hair. “We’ll do that when I get back,” She murmured, sliding a hand under his cock to fondle his balls, “I promise, lovely, but right now I need you to come for me. Then I’ll be back home before you know it.”
With that, she took him to the root, closing her eyes and swallowing around his length. Freed threw his head back, tightening his fingers around her hair and rocking his hips into her mouth. She wrapped an arm around his waist to settle her nose against the trimmed patch of hair on his pelvis, and turned the vibrator on its strongest setting.
His knees buckled, but she kept him up by her hold around his waist. Freed slapped a hand over his mouth to smother an embarrassingly loud shriek, his eyes rolling into the back of his head as the assault on his prostate became too much to bear and he painted the inside of her mouth with his release.
His pleasure was hers and she hummed happily around his cock, swallowing most of his cum before he was pulling her up. Freed pressed her against the wall again, leaning most of his weight against her, and caught her mouth in hiss. She cupped the sides of his face as he pushed past her lips with his tongue, swallowing the remains of his release from her mouth. He suckled on her tongue for a moment, then pulled away with a soft whimper when the vibrations continued.
She laughed breathlessly and turned it off, pecking his lips. She ran her fingers through his disheveled locks, ensuring that her scent was all over him, and pulled out a bag from the shadows of the bathroom. It contained a change of clothes and wipes, something she’d packed for occasions like these. Freed snorted and opened his mouth to say something when someone knocked on the door harshly. She scowled.
“Hurry your ass up, demon! We’re burnin’ daylight!” Gajeel barked in between loud, obnoxious knocks. She vaguely heard Pantherlily scold him from the other side of the door.
“That son of a bitch…” She growled, laying a hand on the doorknob, but Freed caught her chin between his fingers to plant a soft kiss on her lips, melting away the anger.
“I’ll see you later.” He uttered, pulling away and looking at her through his lashes.
Warmth travelled to her cheeks and she was, undoubtedly, smiling like an idiot. God, she was so whipped for this human. “I—”
“Hurry up!”
“Redfox, I fucking swear to god—”

Gajeel: Are we flirting or are we fighting right now because I’m kind of getting mixed signals…?
Laxus: I swear I will sink my teeth into your fucking throat if you don’t shut up…

how would you envision a kid or kids that freed and laxus adopted? I just need fraxus daddies in my life 💞
Hi! Sorry that it took me time to answer this, Fraxus is not one of my usual ships, so I did not know whether to answer or not. And well, I didn't come up with a design for him, I'm not good at drawing, but I said to myself, my strong point is writing, 🤔 after all, I'm a fanficker, so I decided to respond in this way. I hope I do not offend any Fraxus shipper with this headcanon, 🤞 even if it is not one of my ships I think it is a nice ship and I treated it with all the respect it deserves. 🙌 I apologize for any typing errors as English is not my first language. 😅
💛 FRAXUS ADOPTIVE SON HEADCANON 💚
》The first time they meet the boy was in a town were they were on a mission, the boy saved them from drinking a poisonous beverage.
》The second time they found the boy, he was lying on the street unconscious.
》They took him to a doctor and learnt from the village people that the boy is homeless and a orphan. A Dark guild killed his family when he was three (right now he is seven), that Dark Guild used people as experiments to practice forbidden spells and curses, the dark guild was taking down by a group of braves and unknow mages, Laxus realizes it was Crime Sorciere who defeated them.
》The doctor says to them that the boy has an strange disease and he doesn't know what to do.
》They decide to take the boy to the best healer they know: Porlyusica.
》Even sick, the boy talked a lot with them during the trip. The only way to stop his chattering was when illness caused him to pass out, or when Freed taught him to write letters using his magic, or when Laxus loaned him his headphones.
》The boy decides that he wants to have long hair like Freed, but he gets sad thinking how many years that is going to take and that maybe he doesn't have that many time. Freed and Laxus feel their heart ache a lot.
》Porlyusica receives the request in her usual bad mood, but agrees to treat the boy. Obviously, she throws Laxus and Freed out of her house, but first, the weak boy, between sobs, asks Laxus to lend him his headphones, Laxus agrees immediately.
》Freed decides to camp outside Porlyusica 's house still defying the healer's bad mood.
》Laxus is the one who brings his meals every day.
》Evergreen and Bickslow offer to fetch whatever rare medicine or herb Porlyusika needs.
》One day the boy gets really sick, Porlyusica asks them to prepare for the worst in the next days.
》Freed cuts his hair as an offering to the gods for the boy to get better.
》Seeing the sadness of his friends, along with Freed's hair, Bickslow offers one of his "babies/dolls" as a sacrifice on the altar of Kardia's cathedral and Evergreen her most favorite fan.
》Laxus asks his grandfather for help. Makarov sees how desperate he is and advises to find Wendy and bring her back immediately.
》Like a miracle, Team Natsu arrives a few hours later to town, Wendy goes to help the boy but she can only help alleviate the symptoms a bit, but when Porlyusica leaves her alone for a moment, Wendy asks Irene's soul piece inside her if she can help the boy, Irene feels sorry for the boy and analyzes him and realizes that the boy is actually linked to a curse, if they could find out what curse it is, she could remove it.
》Wendy says this to Laxus and he remembers that Crime Sorciere took care of that dark guild, so he looks for Erza to communicate with Jellal, again, luck is on his side (or rather Freed's offering continues to take effect ) because Jellal is with Erza in the guild and informs him of what happened years ago in that town and that he knows pretty well wich was the curse that those dark magicians were perfecting using the citizens.
》Upon receiving the information, Wendy and Irene can remove the curse, Porlyusica takes care of the last symptoms with her herbs.
》Laxus can't help but feel a lump in his throat when he arrives at Porlyusica's house and is given the good news, Freed breaks down in outrageous tears and Porlyusica throws them all out of her house again.
》The first thing the boy asks Laxus after he fully recovers is if, now that he is no longer ill, he can no longer use his headphones, Laxus smiles gently and tells him that those headphones are already his, that he gave them to him as a gift.
》Makarov seeing his grandson so happy and relieved asks Laxus if he is going to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and take children without families into his care, to Makarov's surprise, Laxus smiles warmly.
》When Laxus tells Freed about the idea his grandfather gave him, Freed tells him that he had already sent Evergreen and Bickslow to get the adoption papers in the boy's hometown and he just had to sign. Laxus is surprised, but then he just lets out a long sigh and signs the papers.
》The guild throws a big welcome party for the boy.
》Aside from the great news that he already had amazing parents, a loving grandfather, and a large family by his side, the boy's favorite gifts were the huge cake Erza bought for the party, and his parents' request to Lucy to use the Cancer's key to growing his hair long and beautiful like his father Freed had before offering it for his salvation.
》His favorite way of wearing his hair from then on was in a high ponytail with his father Laxus' headphones decorating it.
... FIN...
Tumblr media
Hope you like it!! Btw, I didn't give the boy a name cause I am really bad at choosing names. 😅

Fraxus Day 2020
Not even sure what this is, but inspiration was running wild today so I decided to give it a try. Given that this is only my second time writing Freed and Laxus as a couple, I ask that you please go easy on me.
Hope you enjoy the prompt nonetheless!
Title: Cold Day, Warm Heart
Summary: All Laxus had wanted was to be alone on this painful day until he spotted the most important person in his life at the cemetery and was reminded of how lucky he was to have Freed.
Warning: There is major angst in here as a major character dies.
Word count: 1.5 K
He just wanted to be alone. Not in the mood to talk or even fight. Just space. That's all he needed, but not everyone got the message. The Thunder Legion; well Freed and Ever;  followed him to the guild even though he told them not to. They were worried, he could tell, but still they should respect his wishes.
"Can't you see I want to be alone now?" He finally snapped after constant concerned comments and attempts to get him to share.
Silence. They stared at him in shock, but soon that was replaced by understanding. Letting out long sighs, they finally stepped away and let him be; after reminding him that they were only a call away if needed. He was grateful, really, but wouldn't tell them now.
After a quick meal and drink, he returned home only to grab the bouquet of white orchids which he had purchased the day before. They reminded him of his grandfather, but Laxus tried not to think about Makarov, as he made his way towards the cemetery. So much pain and grief; it was always overwhelming.
Arriving at the huge gates and let out a long sigh, closing his eyes and letting the cool breeze envelop him. It was a cold morning which perfectly symbolised the coldness and harshness of this date. It was strange how every year it was the same and even though the rational side of him knew it was due to the winter season, unconsciously he wondered if the weather was like this because his grandfather was gone.
Makarov had been such a warm presence in all of the lives of his loved ones. Always bright and cheerful; truly the best grandfather Laxus could have asked for. Someone who had always been there for him and helped him become a better person.
He was gone now, though, and the warmth left with him.
Laxus didn't want to think about that anymore. It was depressing enough to be standing in front of the cemetery on this freezing day. Thus he took in a deep breath, trying to recompose himself even as the lump in his throat tightened and his eyes watered.
Step by step, he started making his way towards the grave. Per Makarov's wish, he had been buried alongside his beloved wife whom Laxus had never met and the mother he barely remembered. Laxus didn't expect that anyone would be there because even though Makarov had certainly been beloved as a guild master and grandfather to many young members, everyone knew that Laxus wished to pay his respects in private and therefore they only visited the grave after the dragon slayer had done so.
Expecting to be alone, Laxus was deeply surprised when he heard voices upon reaching the grave. Familiar voices too. Normally this would annoy him, but somehow his heart warmed at the thought of who was there.
He rushed, eager to reach his destination, and continued to listen to the sounds.
"So, why was his name Makarov?" A child asked.
"Well, that is because of Master Mavis. Do you remember I told you about her?" A man answered. Even though Laxus couldn't see him yet, he could picture him exactly. That long, wavy green way hair and eyes like emeralds. The adoring look and soft smile which were usually on his face whenever he glanced at his husband.
Laxus couldn't deny how grateful he was to have someone like Freed in his life. The love and care he had given him over the years that they had been together were incomparable. Irreplaceable too.
Freed had always been by his side and had waited so long for him. The dragon slayer knew that no matter what he did, he could never repay his husband for all the years of uncertainty and heartache. All he could do was try to make him as happy as he felt.
He was close enough to see Freed now. His husband stood in front of the grave, holding in his arms a beautiful little girl of 5 years old. She had bright blue eyes like and spiky blonde hair; a perfect mix of her parents. Her name was Nova, after Laxus' long deceased mother.
It always made him proud and incredulous when he remembered that she was his daughter. Someone he hadn't expected to ever meet nor love so much. He remembered clearly a time when he would have disregarded that this could be his future, but now he couldn't be happier with the direction his life had taken.
This was the path he had chosen and the one that made him happy. Because he was happy; perhaps more than he had ever thought possible.
"Yes, daddy, I remember." Nova's sweet voice broke him out of his thoughts. Watching as Freed smiled before booping her nose, Laxus thought once again about how lucky he was to have such a wonderful family.
"Good, so you remember that she was the guild's first master, right?" Freed asked the five year old who nodded.
"Yep yep." She was adorable. Everyone who met her said so and Laxus agreed with them. Though he had to admit he was not the biggest fan of children, his daughter was simply...amazing.
Wondering about Nova led him to think about her mother and how grateful he was to her too. Mirajane had always been kinder to him than he ever deserved and when she had volunteered as the surrogate, he had decided it was time to treat her with the same kindness.
She had also been a good influence which helped him change for the better and become the man that Freed deserved. Over the years, Laxus and Mirajane had grown closer and become close friends which was also unexpected but still a pleasant surprise. Nowadays he might even say she had become his romance coach since she was the one he turned to when dealing with romantic issues.
Laxus also enjoyed co-parenting with her even though sometimes that could be confusing. There were some hard times when Nova wondered why her biological parents weren't together which led to some difficult conversations, but overall parenting was a successful experience for all parties involved.
More importantly, everyone had found a way to be happy. Mirajane, though not having found the right partner yet, was content being an aunt to her nephew and niece as well as a mother to Nova. Her life felt complete; she always reiterated; and Laxus chose to believe that.
His life felt complete too, with the most faithful partner and beautiful family. The only way it could be better was if his grandfather was still there, but there was nothing he could do about that.
"Laxus..." Hearing his name, the dragon slayer realised that he had unconsciously kept walking and was now only a few meters away from the grave.
"Hey." He sniffled, still trying to contain the tears. "Didn't expect to see you here."
"I know." Immediately, Freed's expression sombered and he offered an apologising look. "I'm sorry for intruding, but Nova really wanted to pay a visit to her great grandpa."
Laxus glanced at his daughter, who excitedly called him. "Hi, papa! I missed you."
"I missed you too, darling." He offered her a soft smile before turning back to his husband. "And I'm glad you're here."
"You are?" Freed seemed genuinely surprised.
"Yeah." Laxus embraced them both; enjoying the feel of the two most important people of his life in his arms. Pulling away a few minutes later, he genuinely told his husband. "I feel like I should apologise for shutting you out on this date every year."
"It's okay, I understand." Ever forgiving, Freed didn't accept it.
"No, it's not." Laxus shook his head. "You and Nova are the two most important people in my life. I should be comfortable sharing every moment with you, even the darkest ones."
"Laxus, you don't have to. I know why you don't feel that way." Freed insisted, taking his husband's hand and squeezing it. "You always want to be strong for us, but everyone needs to break down once in a while."
Looking into his emerald eyes and noticing all the love and empathy there, Laxus couldn't contain his emotions anymore. Taking both by surprise, he broke down in tears, prompting Freed to carefully lower Nova to the floor before hugging him tightly. The little girl was silent, understanding they needed a moment.
Just like that, this day didn't feel so painful anymore and the coldness around them faded in comparison with the warmth in Laxus' heart. Being with his family, with the partner who loved and supported him through it all, helped ease the darkness and lighten the weight of losing his grandfather.
For once in a long time, Laxus chose to let himself be vulnerable and appreciated the feeling of being loved and protected. Admit his tears and sobs, he managed to let out two simple words but which carried so much meaning. "Thank you."

Of Nightmares and Promises Chapter 2: Gray
Note: This oneshot in Gray's POV, a follow-up to Juvia's oneshot, unexpectedly took me 7 months to complete. More than half of the draft had already been written; I could have posted it earlier with some addition; but I felt that it lacked something. Or perhaps I was afraid, since I was still a new writer back then. In any case, I'm satisfied that my writing has improved tremendously since.
Dedicated to @allie-and-her-fandoms, who was a major source of motivation to write this continuation. Here's a surprise for you girl. I hope I didn't disappoint you.
Next one in this collection of oneshots will probably be Laxus'. Expect some angsty Miraxus coming up!
Word count: 1.5k.
Read this on AO3.
Chapter 1: Juvia
-----------------------------------------------------
Quiet sobs.
The steady beat of the rain tumbling onto the pavement.
Soft whimpers.
The sorrowful symphony slowly filtered into Gray’s sleep-fogged brain and roused him from his slumber. What’s happening? Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, his puzzled gaze instantly landed on the sparkling droplets of water on the window. They slid down helplessly despite the slight friction between their liquid body and the glass panel, leaving behind only disjointed parts of their body in their slippery descent.
It’s raining, he thought sleepily. There was a nagging familiarity about the natural event, almost as though it was teasing him to guess its hidden meaning. However, at such a godforsaken hour, he had neither the mood nor the mental capacity for such trivia games. If the heavens wished to weep and cause a phenomenon known as rainfall upon earth, then they could weep all they wanted. He wasn’t going to give up his precious sleep to spend the night contemplating the mysteries of the universe. Closing his eyes, he turned to lay on his side as he tried to resume his disrupted sleep.
Then it dawned on him.
It was soft, almost inaudible even, but he was almost certain his ears weren’t playing with him – there was a muffled sound of someone crying.
Wait. Rain...
Juvia.
The realisation jolted him awake – any trace of sleepiness now completely gone – and he hurriedly glanced over to the other side of the bed. In a subconscious gesture to either comfort or protect herself, the water mage lied curled on her side in a fetal position. Her face twisted in anguish. “Gray-sama...” his name fell upon her lips in between her strained sobs.
He gently nudged her. “Oi, Juvia.” No use – she showed no signs of waking.
“Juvia tried but she failed,” she whispered, pain lacing each word.
His heart constricted in his chest to see her in this broken state. She was the one experiencing the nightmare, but it hurt him to witness it.
“Wake up and it’ll be fine,” he urged her.
“Juvia is so sorry...”
What was she dreaming to feel sorry for?
Gray pushed aside the stray locks from her forehead – her skin was wet. It was that moment that he noticed she was sweating profusely. Whatever she was dreaming about, it must be intense to invoke such strong reactions from her. Tears silently rolled down her porcelain cheeks. Despite his attempts to pull her from her nightmare, she was lost to him in a torturous realm – one he was all too familiar with.
“Wake up, Juvia,” he pleaded her. It was killing him slowly to see her tormented and being powerless to do a thing.
The ice mage prided himself in having a cold, impenetrable heart. Much like his ice creations, it was solid and incredibly resistant to outside influences. Her cries, however, felt as though someone placed a nail on his heart and pounded mercilessly to create fractures. With each broken call for him, the fractures cracked open.
Just like how Juvia once told him that he kept the rain away, he yearned to prevent her liquid sadness from flowing down her face – now and for as long as he can.
Before he knew what he was doing, he leaned in and placed his lips on her tear-stained cheeks.
Drip.
A tear escaped from the corner of her eye and trailed down.
“Gray-sama.”
Kiss.
His lips caught the elusive tear before it could drop.
“Shh. It’s okay.”
Drip.
No matter how many times she fell apart, he would always be there to catch her.
Kiss.
Down to the last teardrop, he erased their existence with each gentle kiss.
Pulling back, his concerned gaze scanned her face for any signs of distress. To his relief, her features seemed to relax. The iron vise around his heart loosened its grip. His chest immediately felt lighter.
For the first time since he woke up, he could take a breath without feeling strangled.
Lying back down on the bed, he angled his head to watch her. The warm glow of the streetlamps cast a soft spotlight upon her, highlighting her angelic features. Her sapphire tresses was splayed out on the pillow underneath her head. They reminded him of a curved wave frozen in time. He gently pushed back the stray locks on her forehead. She was ethereally beautiful. His heart squeezed in his chest as he took in the sleeping beauty before him. As someone who only experienced heartache all his life, the ice mage didn’t think he was worthy of someone so beautiful and pure.
All I do is scar her.
His gaze dipped down to her abdomen – to where she sacrificed her life for him. The evidence of her suicide was well covered by her nightgown, but he could picture it all too clearly in his mind. Jagged lines winded up and down to narrow peaks, its almost-circular trek engraved forever on the right side of her navel.
Gray wasn’t ashamed by scars, nor did he feel the slightest disgust towards them. His own body exhibited the permanent mark of several scars from years of battling as a mage. None of them bothered him; whether they were large or small; wide or narrow; he only demanded that they were visible to the world.
But Juvia...it didn’t sit right with him for her to have them. Not that he thought they marred her beauty – hell, she was pretty no matter what. It was the history behind the engraved remnants of her sacrifice which troubled him.
If only I was stronger then...Juvia wouldn’t have had to kill herself.
It was my duty to protect her, to keep her safe.
He clenched his fist as an avalanche of failure crashed over him.
And I failed in both for Juvia.
For his entire life, all the people dearest to him had been snatched away. It didn’t matter how strong they were; one by one, they ceased to exist on the physical plane on earth. Though the abrupt conclusion to their story played out in different scenarios, they all shared a crucial common factor – their untimely deaths were all because of him.
Involuntarily, the final memories of his loved ones came flooding back – the disbelief, the immense despair, and the hopelessness – they all hit him like a train wreck.
His father, previously the strongest man in his eyes, now lying immobile in the destruction left by Deliora.
Ur’s motherly smile when she bid farewell to him as ice engulfed her mortal body.
Her daughter, Ultear, trading her priceless youth for him to be granted a second chance at life.
Juvia’s lifeless body, cold and unmoving in his arms.
The tsunami of his painful past threatened to wreck him and drown him under in their onslaught. His tensed muscles began to tremble from the effort of controlling the turbulent emotions which the flashbacks had evoked.
You killed them, a voice hissed inside his head.
He squeezed his eyes shut in an attempt to block them out – the memories, the self-defeating voices, the fears – all of them. I’m not there. I’m not there anymore.
When he opened his eyes, his gaze landed on the soundly asleep form of Juvia. Her lips were slightly parted as she breathed in and out slowly. The nightmares had stopped tormenting her. Seeing her resting peacefully – and breathing – calmed his frayed nerves considerably. His ragged breaths began to slow.
She’s still alive. Here, with me.
The ice mage carefully wrapped his arms around her as he pulled her in close for an embrace. Instantly, she instinctively leaned into his warmth and pressed her face into his naked chest. With that simple trusting gesture, her own warmth spread deeper into his chest to envelope his heart.
For hours, he was content to simply hold her in his arms as she slept. She even snored lightly at one point; this he would never tell her. He couldn’t complain, not when the greatest thing to had ever happened to him was lying in his bed.
He didn’t sleep a wink that night.
Not from her snores, but from the thoughts that raced through his mind and the plans he dared to envision – all of which involved a particular sapphire-haired woman. His dreams splashed every inch of his greyscale mental landscape with bright, invigorating colours of spring. Like the plants which grow from the emergence of the sun after the rain, the seeds of his wishes quickly sprouted to form endless possibilities together with her.
In the near future, they wouldn’t just be mere visions his mind conjured up. No – he would make them materialise into the real world.
When dawn arrived with its hopeful transformation from darkness to light, the ice mage was set with his conviction.
I don’t deserve you, but I will become a man worthy of you, Juvia.
Placing a chaste kiss on her forehead, he sealed his unspoken promise to her.
I’ll keep you safe.
