The fact that not only did Imogen kiss Laudna, but Laudna (after being surprised by it but accepting) reciprocates and kisses Imogen back, is truly such an earned and beautiful moment. They’re honest and open with each other, they’re vulnerable, they know each other well. Moving from friendship to romance is almost as easy as breathing because they were already so close, so comfortable. This is just another step in the relationship.

I am fascinated to see them discuss this more later/interact more later. I’m also very interested to see when the party finds out, since it didn’t come up again this episode.

I still can't believe Critical Role in the span of 2 weeks went 'hey remember that ship you like? Me: Is this Farmer Boy sequel written in 2012 really going to be able to feel like a legitimate follow-up to the style and atmosphere of the original, or is it just another modern cash-grab?

Heather Williams, on page 2: Best of all, he knew that fall meant crispy spareribs and sweet cider and hot roasted potatoes with melting butter and all the pumpkin pie he could eat.

#little house #farmer boy goes west #i'm about halfway through and i'm fairly impressed #she seems to be making a legitimate effort to match some of the stylistic quirks of the original #there are pieces that are anachronistic or too modern #or elements that fit better into the laura books than the almanzo one #(mrs. wilder of farmer boy would not give an explanation of the history of jenny lind trunks even though caroline ingalls would) #there is a lot of focus on food (good) #perhaps a bit too much focus on horses (he wouldn't spend *all* his time thinking about starlight) #the throughline of 'what does he want to be' is stupid when we know he wants to be a farmer #the parents feel less old-fashioned than they did in the original #the sibling dynamics are pretty good (especially with alice) #there are some things that are fun in light of the later books but aren't obnoxious wink wink style foreshadowing #the author's note makes it clear that she did try to do her research and stick to real history and to laura's heavily altered timeline #and i can totally forgive her for a really shoehorned in conversation #because when you find out that the future founder of sears was in spring valley at the same time as almanzo #you *have* to stick that in no matter how clunky it is

King Arthur Flour is my go-to 1:1 flour replacement, and they have a new line of GF bread and pizza flour that's made with (gluten free) wheat starch; the kicker for me is that while their GF all-purpose and premade cake/bread mixes all have GFCO certification, these two new products do not.

According to their site, they go through the same allergen screening process as their other GF products, but I feel like if they're claiming it meets the FDA standard for >20ppm, having a third party confirm that gives your customers better peace of mind.

I really wanted to try their bread flour mix, but I just dont know how much trust I can put into a mix that contains wheat (even scrubbed wheat) that hasnt been tested externally.

I hate the Literal Brain that cinemasins, et all. reinforced in the general tv and media consuming public. then again, this is really more of a personal preference than a criticism, because Metaphor is just how my brain works. but very sparingly the 5 times now I've watched russian doll has it occurred to me to care about the schematics of the time loop, the literal impossibilities of the world, etc. And I hope they continue to be vague about this in the potential next season.

Poor Nick be struggling like hell Pre-Gilead. 

Damn the Sons of Jacob for preying on his desperation and vulnerable position. Their recruitment tactics are so manipulative and effective for this reason. 

My boy made a dumbass decision joining them for sure. Hindsight is 20/20. He didn’t know what they were until it was too late and now feels such guilt over it. 

I just really want to see Nick find a way to forgive himself and feel like he’s making amends, such as working with the resistance next season.
