😺 An animal related headcanon

Nick Jr is not the first rat in Glenn Close's life! When he was a teenager, and spending months on end without seeing his dad, he found a small next of rats in the back of his closet and decided to look after them until the babies were grown. He emptied an old shoebox and put some warm winter scarfs in it to keep them cozy, came up with names for them all, and imagined them as a family on the run from the government who was trying to persecute them and he was the kind soul who sheltered them on their journey. He had a whole elaborate backstory for them. He'd strum his guitar for them when they were sleepy and accidentally conditioned them to fall asleep on him when he starts playing 😭❤️ when they got too big (and when he found out bill was on his way home) he took them to the local golf course to release them on the next leg of their journey. He saluted them as they left. He cried. A lot.

🍫 A headcanon about food

99% of meals glenn has ever eaten have been fast food. He's an horrendous cook. However, the one thing he can cook at home is rice, in the ancient rice cooker he inherited from Christine. She always told him to have rice in the house, and it's the one lesson of hers he actually internalised. When days when he can't be arsed reaching for his phone to order uber eats he'll just eat a plain bowl of rice and think of his mum ❤️😌

i can't get over the moment after the for knights tournament when the prize giving dog refuses to get pats and henry scoffs and says "that's dogs for ya" with sooo much disdain ahaha. so! i think henry isn't really a dog person (he's a WOLF person ;P). they only got laserwolf fartblaster because the boys wanted a dog, so he had to put up with it. i think that this stems from his youth in the forgotten realms, as all things do for henry. Horsy Sy'Oak had a minion called Pup Py'Oak who was one of those yes men kinda people; they were too chicken to pick on beay ry'oak's kid on their own, but they were more than happy to stand behind horse sy' and go "yeeeaaahhh" and "ooooohhh" every time horse sy' insulted henry.

🍫 A headcanon about food

i have a couple, but i'm gonna put the second under a readmore because it involves eating disorders; i won't go into detail but i know that can be triggering for some people so heads up ❤️

first, i did research a couple of months ago about ecuadorian vegan food and apparently there's not a whole lot. so when the oak-garcias visit their family in ecuador they rarely go out to eat, they make a lot of homecooked food so they know what's in it. mercedes brings a new vegan recipe to ecuador every time she visits, and her favourite cousin has a cookbook full of them so she can practice them between visits to feed mercedes and her family 🥰❤️

henry often had food restricted for him in oakvale as a punishment from barry, so he has a pretty unhealthy relationship with food that he has worked extremely hard on with love and support from mercedes ❤️ his beautiful boys have full access to food 24/7, and once at a party someone made a comment to lark when he reached for another cookie about how many he's already had and henry went absolutely apeshit on them.

Had an idea for a fic....

Forgotten realms-less fic, but not entirely realistic au. It will end up a Nark fic. And a soulmate au because the lack of my favorite fic genre in my favorite fandom is sad.

ALSO I'M USING MY LARK HEADCANONS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T STOP ME. So be prepared for bisexual aromantic Lark Oak-Garcia.

Lark Oak-Garcia was a simple man. Wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, come home, hang out with his family, eat dinner, go to sleep. He rarely strayed from his schedule. Unless his brother dragged him out to an event or get-together, Lark would stay home. When his niece and nephew were younger, it was perfect because Sparrow would allow him to be on babysitter duty. Now that Normal and Hero were older, he couldn't use that excuse anymore.

"Oh, come on, Lark! It'll be nice to get out of the house! Talk to people other than us yknow?"

Lark Oak-Garcia was a simple man. He just wanted to lay down face flat against the couch in his basement apartment. He didn't want to go to whatever party his twin brother who owned the house above him had planned on attending.

A sigh. "Look, it's been a while since we hung out with the guys. That's all it is. No new faces. Come on, Lark. For me?"

Lark Oak-Garcia was a simple man. He was very close to his twin. When Sparrow asked him to do something "for him" it was a lot more convincing than any other argument. They had been through thick and thin together. But then again, so had the people they were about to meet with.

"Fine. Let's see what the Doodlers have been up to."

Lark Oak-Garcia was a simple man. Seeing his brother smile as if he had just caused their childhood dog Laserwolf Fartblaster to come back from the dead when he had only agreed to begrudgingly go to a get together of friends... Well, it broke his heart a little.

New Saints Row time! I’m not sure how well ‘struggling twentysomething is always supportive of his three roommates and his orange cat Snickerdoodle’ fits in with ‘nigh-unkillable gun-frenzied war-whooping ex-military murder machine’, but Saints Row has always been ridiculous, so I’m willing to play along.

I’m mostly enjoying it. On the positive side, it’s a lot of fun, especially the whole LARP storyline, which is just pure joy to play through; on the negative side, the game is a bug- and glitch-riddled mess and not even the fun kind.

I demand you admire the Boss’ elaborate flame-colored dye job (whole evenings of watching telenovelas with Kev while wearing a plastic showercap) and I especially demand you admire his amazing laserwolf van.

And of course, some lovely new posters! He’s getting quite the collection, peeling them off the -- um -- I’m not actually sure what that thing is. It’s square and metal, I can tell that. . .

ANYWAY, Eric also spent some time making a few new friends -- which is easy when you have like every freaking advantage in making Sims like you. Most notable among his new besties was Chell, who was taking a break from selling baked goods to sell lamps of all shapes and sizes. I had Eric buy one to justify him chatting to her -- hey, he’s gonna take up her sales time, he ought to make it worth her while!

With new purchases in inventory, Eric did a quick swing by the karaoke bar to sing a song to an audience of none, then headed back home to hang his posters and replace his couch with his new three-seater. I WAS going to replace his old reading chair, but it turns out that it’s actually more comfortable than his new one, so I kept both. Look at that, looks like Eric has a living room now!

And one other thing he has too -- a seance table! I went ahead and got him the all-in-one kit and shoved it into his office. Eric did a test spin, sensing the spiritual volatility of the house. Turns out the home is happily haunted, as evidenced by the arrival of some happy green blobs --

And good old Guidry! Eric of course instantly made friends with him just by saying hello (seriously, this guy is the most likeable Sim on earth), and they chatted for a while about haunted houses and how Eric could handle his. And I decided it was high time for Eric to do his first ceremony. . .

ooooooh! Thank you for the ask! I haven’t talked about them in a while :3c

A (realistic): Like most seeker siblings and cybertronian siblings in general, they HATED getting separated. This meant for the first few months of training it would take at least half an hour to get them to calm down enough to do anything. Eventually Blackbird got very invested in training. It took Laserwolf CONSIDERABLY longer, she would spend a good hour sulking. If Starscream hadn’t been so furious, he would’ve been impressed!

B (comedic): So I mentioned in this AU Cyclonus and Starscream are both important decepticons at the same time, but absolutely LOATHE each other. Well, sometimes Laserwolf and Blackbird would intentionally get them to pick fights with each other and take bets on who would win.

C (heartbreaking): Energon was scarce. Laserwolf would end up giving a portion of hers to Blackbird, back when they were sparklings and even still to this day. Starscream ended up figuring it out, but Laserwolf managed to convince him it was good training- someday she might be on a mission where no energon was available. This ended up having a lot of negative ramifications, since she was still growing. Blackbird feels incredibly guilty about it now, he often thinks about ho she could have been one of the greatest fliers the Decepticons had ever seen if only he hadn’t taken her food. 

D (noncanon): I’d like to give them superpowers :P Laserwolf would have something that seems tragic at first but ends up incredibly useful and cool, and Blackbird would have something that seems super cool at first but like... kinda lame in comparison. Like Skywarp’s teleportation or maybe he regens really quickly.

Their IPA’s are ALWAYS fire and have some of the friendliest faces around. Then I headed over to @invasivespeciesbrewing to meet up with @beardbrewsandfood and @brewedinbuffalo ( + George 😬) to drink some BOMBBBBB beer 🤙🏽 Seriously two of dopest guys out there who truly LOVE beer. From there we all hit up @laser_wolf and then finished out the night with a visit to @americaniconbrewery_ftl 😍 We talked about everything from failed home brew attempts to when it’s ok to get a present for someone else’s wife for Christmas 🤷🏾‍♂️ Oh, and we ALL marveled at George laying down the mack-sauce at the bar too. Please include my two favorite henry facts!

The Oak family has three pets: a goat named Earth, a bird named Cloud, and a dog named LaserWolf Fart Blaster (a combined effort of Lark and Sparrow).

Henry's ashamed that his favorite "child" is actually his dead bird, Beanie. Beanie was a wild parrot Henry found in his 20s when he was going through a rough time. After nursing the bird back to health, he continued his life, married Mercedes, and had the twins. When the twins were 7, their roughhousing caused the cage to fall and kill the bird. Henry feels guilty for both that death as well as his inability to control his kids.
