Hal Jordan beefs with Batman because deep down he knows that Green Lantern Bruce would be so much fucking cooler than him and the fact that the only thing holding Bruce back from getting a ring is massive trauma and self-hatred isn't exactly reassuring. Portals to the infinite realms have been popping up regularly for 2-8 hour periods all across the universe centered around Earth causing mass panic. The Lantern Corps to work with the Justice League to investigate the source of these inter-dimensional portals.

In completely unrelated news Danny is struggling to with his new powers over portals after the permanent Fenton portal was closed. It’s the worst when he’s asleep and doesn’t have any control.

Once more unto the Breach writing prompt

"Run Dann-o! RUN!" Jack Fenton slams his armored fists into an undead Maddie Fenton flying at them, her hazmat suit bearing a rudimentary hand shape. He grabs the figure's hand as it grasps his chest, Danny hesitates before turning invisible and flying back to Fentonworks and through the portal.

"This needs to be put to an end. Everything's gone..." Phantom blurs as his speed increases, looking for a specific haunt. Passing destroyed lairs and islands; Skulker's hunting grown withered, Ghostwriter's library is burning and the Zone is quiet.

Pariah's keep still stands, the skeleton army long gone, inside Phantom finds the Crown of Fire and the Ring of Rage. Their spirits weeping inside their artifacts.

He heads to Duat region; spotting who he was looking for he slams into them, causing her to scream and blast him. "Phantom! I never thought, they couldn't have gotten you."

"They haven't, Desiree. Everyone's gone, I need your help." Phantom floats up and sets her right as he apologizes.

"I-I can't. I can't fight them, I can't.." She

"I need you to grant a wish."

"No! Please don't, a wish is what caused this. I can't undo it. They've gained to much power."

"Desiree... Please, I- As your king, you must do this, I command you."

"Yes, sire..." Desiree glowers as she bows.

"I would go to Clockwork or Frostbite for the map but I can't; their," Phantom bites back a sob, "They're gone."

Desiree's anger lessens slightly and sighs, "Make your wish my sire and make it a good one."

"You may not be able to stop the Black Lantern Corps but I can. Not now but back then, I've lost to many people, my core is breaking. I Wish for you to send me back in time before the Black Lantern Corps came to be, before the Black Hand used the cosmic divining rod when he was William Hand. I will save our loved ones and our people."

"So you have wished it, so shall it be." Desiree gives her king a kiss on the cheek before casting him back in time. A black fist erupts from her chest, her core shattering, "You will not get me, you will not get my king. I am at peace because there will be Balance... He has wished it."

Hello! I have question.

So you know how Lantern rings choose their wielder's??

How do you think Hal Jordan (Green lantern) would react to the reader just putting a handful of different lantern rings in his hand? And the reader's only explanation is they keep finding the rings in their (Reader's) room.

BYE- I think he'd be so shook like what do you mean you just keep finding them??? He'd probably suggest "training" you (it's just to keep track of how powerful you're getting)

Hal's jaw is practically on the floor as you explain the abundance of lantern rings you have. It's practically the whole collection. "They just show up ya know." You shrugged, finishing your explanation. "You-" Hal cut himself off as he tried to rationalize whatever the fuck he was hearing. "Stop, ok, back track- so you just have these lying around?" You nodded, "They look a lot like yours that's why I called you. At first I thought maybe you'd accidentally left one over here ya know but then they kept showing up." You sighed, "I was hoping you'd be able to help but judging by your reaction I'm guessing you're just as confused as I am?" He'd never admit it, but Hal was a little jealous. If you have this many Lantern rings deeming you worthy you must hold a lot of power. At this point he just accepts that you're gonna be very strong and he's honestly a little scared/intimidated, not that he'd ever show it.

And another thing! Because I've been thinking today.

What lantern corps would various DC character be in?

Like, Billy would be in blue (hope) or indigo (compassion). I say this because Billy is extremely hopeful. He sincerely believes that things can get better and that people can do good. But he's also very compassionate, always standing with the underdog. Billy has the powers of five gods and Solomon, who I'm pretty sure isn't even a god, but he'll go out of his way to help an old lady cross the street, or get a cat out of a tree for a little girl. He'll save the world from impending doom, then help get a pregnant woman to the hospital faster. I also considered putting Billy in violet (love) because he absolutely adores his family and would do almost anything for them, but they rarely let men join, and my trans Billy headcanon won't let me put him in a place that only typically women are allowed in. It just feels like I'd be misgendering him.

Damian depends on when and which comic run. In some he's red (rage), others more green (willpower). I personally lean more towards green, that kid works hard to be where he is, and struggles through stuff that would permanently scar grown adults, what also being, like, eleven. He is extremely mentally strong, and it's extremely hard for any character to fully wear him down. Putting him in red feels like ignoring that development. And Damian being treated like a feral child who does violence ™ feels like a microaggression, given the amount of anti-arabian stereotypes rely on Arabs being unruly and aggressive. It doesn't sit right to me, but that's not my place to judge as I'm not Arab.

I love doing this exercise with any character, because it forces me to think about what motivates a character and what their core traits are.

Lantern Corps for Ruby Characters

I’ve had this idea for a while and since RWBY is doing plenty of cross over material with DC as of late so I figured it was about time to do something like this and discuss the possible lantern corps that I think would best suit the characters of RWBY 

For those who may or may not know Lantern Corps are organizations that have rings that give their wearers superpowers and they are powered by different emotions and in order to wield one of these rings you have to have a strong connection to the emotion that wears it

And these Lantern Corps are; 

The Red Lanterns of Rage

The Orange Lantern of Avarice

The Sinestro Corps of Fear

The Green Lanterns of Willpower

The Blue Lanterns of Hope

The Indigo Tribe of Compassion

The Star Sapphires of Love

As well as the; 

Black Lantern Corps of Death and the White Lantern Corps of Life

As well as the newest corps being; 

The Ultraviolet Corps

Note; it is unclear what exact emotion powers this corps other than it is negative in origin and as such many people believe it to be Shame

With that established I will be doing 4 characters at a time starting with Team RWBY
