More Gabenath Headcanons because I love them

Note: Tomorrow the Miraculous Movie releases on Netflix guys! I’m screaming!!!

Nathalie is embarrassed to admit it but she loves being the little spoon

Gabriel always makes sure Nathalie eats and gets enough sleep no matter what

Nathalie made the first move on Gabriel as Mayura

On occasion Nathalie doesn’t mind being the submissive one in the relationship, especially when she isn’t feeling well and wants to be taken care of

Gabriel is a switch

Nathalie and Gabriel’s main love language in their relationship is physical touch (hugs, small caresses, etc)

Nathalie’s love language is words of affirmation

Gabriel’s love language is gifts/acts of service

When Gabriel and Nathalie finally told Adrien about their relationship, he interrupted them and said, “I knew it!”

Gabriel has designed jewelry specifically for Mayura to wear

Hawkmoth gives Mayra back-rubs whenever she starts to feel achy

Whenever Hawkmoth tells Mayura not to do something in battle, she does it anyway because she’s a badass

Gabriel gave some of Emilie’s old clothes to Nathalie (her dresses, skirts, shoes, etc)

Whenever they argue, Gabriel always apologizes to Nathalie first because he’s always in the wrong

Gabriel actually remembers Nathalie’s birthday

Mayura may or may not have created a sentimonster of Gabriel that she pretended was her boyfriend

Gabriel trusts Nathalie with everything, even things from his past

When Felix first saw Gabriel and Nathalie as Hawkmoth and Mayura he immediately knew their identities and was like, “yep they are totally getting together”

Happy new year folks and here’s a crossover idea that’s been in my head for a long time Max Steel and Miraculous Ladybug. The idea originated some years ago after seeing season 2 of Ladybug and the Kwamis somehow reminded me of Steel, minus the turbo energy and untreatable ultralink that is.

Also not gabriel agreste getting two new looks in this film. With the long hair, esp in the rendered art style, he looks like he belongs in a dating sim. but also the final look?? with five o clock shadow and cuts on his face? actually not polished to a t and portraying his vulnerability outwards?? a good move. the greatest move. the characters in the show have the emotional depth of dried seaweed— especially so for the literal cartoon villain— it was nice to see a smidge of realism and not just “grr, get me their miraculouses!” for the thousandth time

* didn’t even realize this until now but I actually really hate how movie!Luka’s design stripped away all the uniqueness from his design

* like in the show he has painted nails, earrings, designs on his sneakers, has stripes on his shirt, has bracelets on his right arm and a ring on his left hand, and his hair is dark blue/black with light blue tips, and in the movie, his nails aren’t painted, he has no earrings, his sneakers are plain black, his bracelets and ring were taken away, his shirt, aside from Jagged’s face, is all white, and his hair is entirely light blue

* like hey Zag would it really cost you that much to add, any of these features? I don’t see why these changes, even if they are small, were made when everyone is almost 100% intact (except for Alya’s hair but other people have already talked about that and I agree with them)

* it really just seems like they tried to make him as plain as possible and I hate that lmao, especially when they had like 5 years to fix the design (ok I don’t want to say “fix” but like, make the design more accurate)

EDIT: @among-us-fungus pointed out that Luka’s shirt stripes aren’t stripes, they are rips in the shirt, sorry for that misinfo (the points still stand though)

Here’s my personal opinions on the Miraculous movie:

So first of all I very much enjoyed the movie. I definitely like the show better and I have a lot of things to complain about the movie, but overall I think it did well for what it was trying to be.

Things I Liked:

Marinette/Ladybug’s design. I think she looked really pretty, and the texture/shine on her suit was amazing

General animation, everything looked really smooth and aesthetically pleasing

The songs, specifically You Are Ladybug and Courage In Me. I really wish they had let Cristina Vee sing, the voice change threw me off, but the songs still sounded great and worked really well with Marinette’s character.

Ladynoir dynamic and hangouts. I loved the banter, the play fighting, the watermelon comments. I like how Chat told her his mother died, I wish we had more genuine moments of friendship/connection like that in the show

The open ending with Natalie and Emilie. I’m very intrigued by where this is going. Emilie is wearing the peacock miraculous, so is this version going into the sentimonster Adrien angle too? Did Gabriel lie about what killed Emilie? Is Natalie going to become a villain and continue to try to bring Emilie back?

It’s also interesting that the story is going to continue after the reveal. I’m excited to see the dynamic of the next movie(s) when they know each other’s identities. I wonder if a reveal to Alya and Nino is in the cards?

Things I Didn’t Like:

My biggest gripe is how they changed the entire way the powers work. I really like the constant battle format of the show. I thought it was confusing how the akumas worked in the movie, going into the person themself and being defeated?? Through violence?? And I really missed the lucky charms and cataclysms.

On a similar note, the lack of the miraculous cure until the very end was weird. They caused a lot of serious damage to really important buildings, and if you’re not going to have it be fixed you need to at least acknowledge the damage in the narrative.

The kwamis. I found them to be annoying, especially Plagg. Neither of them really felt like they had any sort of bond with their chosen the way they do in the show.

Adrien/Chat Noir’s design. I think he looks too baby-faced, and his hair just looks,, off to me? And the fabric of his suit and mask looked really flat. The little sparkles on his mask just looked out of place without any texture behind it.

The reveal. It felt very anticlimactic, especially compared to the reveals I’ve seen in the show and in fanfics. The best part of the reveal to me is the reaction, and didn’t feel like we got any reaction from either of them.

Chloe and Adrien’s relationship? Not a huge deal, but it was weird how Chloe kept talking about him yet we literally did not see them interact even once. Are they childhood friends in this version? Is Chloe just obsessed from a distance? What’s up here.

Things I’m On The Fence About:

Adrien’s personality. It wasn’t necessarily bad, it was just different, which I found off putting. Maybe I’ll get more used to it if I rewatch the movie.

Adrien’s home life. Again, just different. Personally I find the controlling/neglectful/abusive father narrative more interesting than what they did here. Adrien not being able to leave his house whenever he wants adds an important layer to his chat regarding the freedom Chat Noir grants him, and I just felt like that entire dimension of his character was missing from the movie.

Quick Thoughts on Miraculous Awakening

Warning: Spoilers. And I can't let go of the fact that they changed the name.

It's a musical!

The criminally insane difference between Marinette's speaking voice and singing voice. But then again, I am a huge fan of Lou and she sings so beautifully

What happened to Adrien's modeling career?!?!?!

AND HE ATTENDED SCHOOL WAY BEFORE THE MOVIE?!?!?!?!?

Alya is a real one for befriending Marinette despite the rumors (the other kids are jerks)

Speaking of which, Max steals hats now?!?!?!?!?

Still hate Chloé. She still reminds me of my bullies.

THE LIBRARY SCENE!!!!! I love how they just casually met and there was no intense drama

The foreshadowing of Adrien being Cat Noir when Marinette held a book to her face

Honestly, Adrien's personality of being aloof initially is valid considering his mom died*

TIKKI WE GOTTA LOVR TIKKI

They meet

WHAT ARE YOU, A WATERMELON? -Chat Noir

Apparently, Tikki and Plagg don't get along, which somehow influences how Ladybug and Chat Noir did not like each other at first and why they initially did not see themselves as equals?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

The Cherry Blossom Garden scene after the fight! Gotta live for their banter IN FRONT OF MASTER FU

Dammit Tom! We love you for being a great dad, but why are you following your daughter and interrupting her conversation with Adrien right after she says great things about you?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Glad that Ladybug and Chat Noir got along mid fight

Nino's last words were that he loves Alya, but Alya interjecting him with "Ladybug" was for some reason so funny to me

THE ROOFTOO SCENE IS SO ICONIC AND I WAS HAPPY STIMMING THE WHOLE TIME!!!!

Will never forgive the loss of Ce mur qui nous separè, but the rooftop scene makes up for it (somehow)

DAMMIT WHY DO THEY GOTTA YANK MY HEART OUT WITH SUCH A LOVELY SCENE WITH MELANCHOLY BECAUSE OF THE WALL BETWEEN THEM?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Destruction!

Noooo, now Hawkmoth knows that Marinette is Ladybug 😵

He actually stops his madness after realizing that Adrien is Chat Noir? He is more respectable than his show counterpart? I gasp they actually fixed the show in a movie

Chloé, Adrien does not seem into you, have you not noticed this by now?!?!?!?!?!? Nobody is getting in your way

AHHHH THE REVEAL THEY ACTUALLY DID THEIR JOB!!!!!

And they kiss?AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

NO PLEASE NO SENTIMONSTER I AM GONNA BE UPSET

Gotta give credit to everyone who worked in the movie for making it much better than the show! I feel like the show would be so much more enjoyable if they took the set storyline from the movie and expanded it without all of the inconsistencies and controversies that the show has, because this would be a show I want to see. I laughed, I happy stimmed with glee, I cried, and repeat. Overall 100000/10
