Record Set to Benefit Over 12 Lakh Beneficiaries under Government Schemes in Single Day Mumbai. Probably first time in the country and in the history of the state, a record has been set to benefit 12 lakh 68 thousand eligible beneficiaries under the government schemes in a single day during the Nagar Uday Abhiyan on February 8. Minister for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Maya Singh has informed that on this day, programmes were organised under the Nagar Uday Abhiyan conducted from December 25 to February 5, 2017 in which the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Cabinet Members handed over the sanctioned letters of government schemes to the beneficiaries. Smt. Maya Singh further mentioned that Nagar Uday Abhiyan was conducted with an objective to evaluate the services given by the urban bodies beside identification of each beneficiary of the government schemes for urban areas. Besides this, the aim was to reach out to the beneficiaries to provide them the benefits of the schemes. Six thousand 28 teams were formed in the state for this and evaluation regarding need of beneficiaries and urban bodies was carried out through 7 thousand 286 ward meetings. A total of 2 lakh 6 thousand were benefited in Shahdol division during the campaign. Similarly, One lakh 71 thousand beneficiaries in Jabalpur division, 80 thousand in Ujjain division, 2 lakh 88 thousand in Bhopal, Narmadapuram division, One lakh 52 thousand in Sagar division, One lakh 80 thousand in Indore division and One lakh 71 thousand in Gwalior division were benefited. Under the campaign, 22 thousand 885 beneficiaries in Handcart and Rickshaw Puller scheme, 19 thousand 472 in Street Vendors Welfare scheme, 5 thousand 29 in Kesh Shilpi (barber) Welfare Scheme, 44 thousand 439 in Urban Domestic Women Workers Welfare scheme, 2 lakh 80 thousand 461 in Housing schemes for urban poor, 7,558 in Ladli Laxmi yojna, 7,245 in Mukhyamantri Urban Swa-Rozgar scheme, 28 thousand 885 in Mukhyamantri Arthik Kalyan scheme, 1806 in Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah scheme, 48 thousand 605 in Mukhyamantri Bhavan Karmkaar Kalyan Mandal scheme, 26 thousand 990 in Lok Seva Praday Guarantee Act, 7,222 in School Chale Hum abhiyan, 3,215 in Mukhyamantri Prasuti Sahayta yojna, 39 thousand 477 in Social Security Pension scheme and 17 thousand 5 names were included in the poverty line beside 688 eligible beneficiaries under Mukhyamantri Bal Hridaya scheme. Also pattas to 15 thousand 936 beneficiaries, personal toilet possession letter to 3 lakh 29 thousand 151 and approval letter to 45 thousand 528 beneficiaries were distributed in Atal pension yojna. Works have been carried out on all the aspects for over all development under the campaign. Under this for livelihood of urban poor, urban potable water, urban sanitation and solid waste management, urban sewage, establishment of green area, road and infrastructure development, housing for urban poor, urban transport, fire brigade services, e and mobile governance, financial and administrative urban reforms, smart city, skill development education and process to amend the law to provide ownership rights to the citizens is being started. Moreover, under the campaign an amount of Rs. 30 thousand crore has been approved for schemes under the various schemes of urban development. Under these, Rs. 6191 crore 49 lakh for urban potable water augmentation scheme for 200 civic bodies, Rs. 3227 crore 86 lakh for sewerage project of 40 urban bodies, Rs. 1640 crore for sanitation towards solid waste management in 6 clusters, Rs. 1963 crore for smart city projects of Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur, Rs. 1599 crore 80 lakh for construction of 2 lakh 35 thousand residential units in 105 civic bodies, Rs. 450 crore for 2100 buses in 20 cities’ cluster under hub and spoke model in urban transport, Rs. 1107 crore to 378 urban bodies under the second phase of Chief Minister infrastructure development programme and Rs. 26 crore for e- nagar palika and automated building plan approval system under the city development scheme have been approved.
