And I, I would not go near the sea for nearly thirty years, I would not drink tea for another twenty, I would not undress, use pockets, read Walter Benjamin or listen to a bumblebee even if he bent the right wing of my scarlet runner, modeling myself after a woman who could only say one thing at a time, and found herself one day in hell, where she went casually and without purpose, having read every poem ever written, and finding not a single one even remotely sad enough.

Teresa: Well, Lisa, if you've never been caught alone with a man, then explain this.
*She dramatically whips out Lisa's handkerchief.*
This was found in Rodolfo's room. Whose is it?
Chorus: YEAH WHOSE IS IT
Teresa: IT'S LISA'S!
Everyone: wait WHAT
Teresa: Now, perhaps Rodolfo could explain this—
Lisa: Rodolfo could you do me a solid and please explain this pleeeeeeeeeeease
Rodolfo: ...
Rodolfo: Wouldn't you like to know, weatherboy.

Everyone hates Sonnambula. I understand sopranos and tenors hating it, because both Amina and Elvino's parts are HELL to sing, but the audiences? The music is heaven, ste plot is simple but not as stupid or unintelligible like some other operas in the repertory (Trovatore... 😈) and it's not incredibly long. I know, I have a soft spot for straightforward good and innocent characters (I like Don Ottavio...😅) and Amina is one of them, so? Not a bad thing that happens to her is her fault. My inner Cinderella can only empathize with her.
Bonus, here Anna Moffo sings like an angel.
