Free! the Final Stroke - Budapest pilgrimage part 1

After being in love with Free! for 10 years now and visiting Iwami 3x already (soon it will be the 4th time) - you cannot imagine how surreal it felt when I heard about the Budapest part when the movie was released last year. Thanks to @fencer-x​ who confirmed many details and directed me to Japanese Twitter users (39_Free and Ladyoscar_1990) who actually found the exact location of the HaruRin train crossing and the little shop where Rin met Ai - I could visit the places quite quickly, living in Budapest myself. This particular post focuses on Makoto’s parts - Keleti Railway Station (I pass it 2x a day on my way to work and back), the Fisherman’s Bastion in the Castle district, the No 41 tram (they don’t use the same type of vehicle on that line anymore, so I went to Deák square to take photos of the type shown in the movie), the lower quay on the Buda side, the Chain bridge from the Pest side (it’s still under renovation and probably the red bench where Makoto and Haru sits and talks won’t be there after the reveal...) and last but not least the Parliament (photo take from the Castle district). Anyone who needs exact locations and addresses, just send me a DM!

I was super lucky with the weather - could take almost the exact same shots as were shown in the movie.

Been making my way through a re-watch of Sound! Euphonium to refamiliarize myself with the content, but it's been taking ages as I constantly stop to soak up the art. Season 2 has had such a night and day different to season one across the board, but all the same these environments catch my eye more than anything else (though the instruments are definitely a close 2nd).
