okay headcanon time

Midori Gurin and Kuu Dere are best friends. They met in year 1 when the teacher paired them up for the first project. Midori started to follow Kuu around, which didn't bother Kuu, since other girls usually expected Kuu to respond or to start talking first, and Midori has no such expectations. They hang out after school like every day and Midori rambles nonstop but Kuu listens to every word of it. She doesn't really respond, but Midori knows that Kuu is listening and thats enough for her. She plays video games with Midori and Midori reads whatever Kuu recommends to her, and she always has a good time with it.

When Midori has a problem, she can usually solve it on her own while telling Kuu about it. She says Kuu's blank yet understanding face gives her the wisdom she needs to find a solution. When Kuu has a problem, she tends to read books about characters with similar problems to try and find an answer. Midori always asks about whatever Kuu is reading, and will sometimes infer that Kuu has something on her mind and will give advice accordingly.

Ayano used to hang out with Midori and Kuu in middle school, but ever since coming to high school they haven't been in the same class, so she hasn't made much of an effort to maintain her relationship with them. Midori and Kuu are worried about Ayano being on her own, but they can sense that she's going through something and have decided that its best to leave her to her own devices.

Kuu is a lesbian and would appreciate another quiet girl to settle down with. Probably not Horuda since she's too gloomy, but there aren't any other girls in school described as quiet, so Kuu would probably remain single throughout high school.. Midori I'm gonna say is either aroace or straight. If the latter, she would probably appreciate a guy like Kuu. Maybe even Senpai...
