warnings: choking, breath play kinda, kink exploration kinda, making out. hands. 🔞
[ 18:46 ] you sigh, dazed and horny and breathless as you pull away from seungmin’s lips. he came over a few minutes ago or you think it’s been a few minutes, but the screen in front of you has a ‘are you still watching?’ message displayed and you have no recollection of when the background noise stopped—too consumed by everything kim seungmin to notice something as unimportant as the netflix show he put on for the pair of you.
you rest your head on his shoulder softly, gulping in air. his hand sinks into your hair, softly scratching at your scalp. you can feel the warmth of his hand on your entire head and you aren’t sure if the scratching is just that pleasant or his hand is just that big.
both thoughts make you want to grab his face and kiss him some more, lest you start actually purring at your boyfriend of two months.
“what were you saying?” he asks, kissing your head softly as you keep resting on his shoulder.
“what?”
“before i kissed you, you said something.”
“no fucking clue,” you scoff at him.
you lift your head and seungmin smiles softly at you. god, his smile is beautiful.
then he starts smirking and you’re already preparing your eyes to roll at whatever he’s going to say.
“finally found the way to shut you up,”
you do roll your eyes, before shoving him away from you with a chuckle, “you’re insufferable.”
“you’re obsessed with me,” he corrects you, pulling himself closer to you every time you push him away.
“i’m so not,” you comment maturely.
“soooo are,” he smirks, before his large hand wraps around the back of your head, pulling you in for another kiss.
your lips melt against his, molding perfectly together, and seungmin doesn’t wait long before licking at your lips for more.
you slip your tongue into his mouth, sighing lightly at the soft velvety feeling.
you let him control the pace, follow his movements half dazed as he slows everything down. soft, slow, soothing. his lips barely moving against yours and all you can feel is him wrapping around your sense.
you feel his hand move towards your cheek keeping you close to him, and with the size of his hand his pinky sits just beneath your jaw. pressing lightly.
anticipation tickles your gut as you feel his pinky moving around slightly—as if downwards.
you’ve been waiting for seungmin to do something like this, something bold. well, you’ve been begging seungmin to choke you. but only in your brain—you were too scared to say it out loud. it was all so new still and you didn’t want to ask for something unless you knew he’d want it, too.
still, the way his hand is cupping your jaw gives you (and your pussy) a little bit more hope.
you slowly bring your fingers to his elbow, shifting slightly closer to him. you let him kiss you, the back of your eyes tingling by just how slow he’s going, as you—just as slowly—run your fingers all the way up to his wrist.
you wrap your hand around it, softly caressing the back of his hand with your thumb. you can’t even feel where his hand ends.
ever so slightly, you nudge his hand further down your jaw.
seungmin doesn’t react, lips still clashing together. maybe you were too subtle.
you tug on his wrist again, this time his hand slips and all his fingers lay flat against your neck. you’re sure he can feel your pulse thumping heavily against your skin.
a small moan slips out, and you give his wrist another tug, until his palm lays flat against your throat.
you love kissing seungmin slowly, sensually, but the thought of his hand just resting right where you wanted him to touch you turns you desperate and so you surge forward as your kisses turn eager.
moving forward causes seungmin to put more pressure on your throat, and you can’t help the quiet desperate pants that follow. you know seungmin hears you, you know he sees and feels your reactions, and he slowly starts pressing into the side of your neck.
you moan.
you want to say something, affirm him that this is exactly what you want, but you’re too intoxicated by his kisses to pull away now. you need more of them.
he keeps pressing, so hard that you need to pull away when all the breath stops reaching your brain.
you slowly open your eyes when seungmin relaxes his hand—but still keeps it resting on the entirety of your neck.
his pupils are blown wide, his lips slick and swollen and red. you want to bite them.
“this is what you wanted?” he says lowly, voice rough from kissing.
“yeah,” you start saying, but the words die out when seungmin presses down on the side of your throat again.
a small smirk sits on his lips as his eyes dart all over your face—both studying your reaction and relishing in it.
“gonna say it for me?” he asks, eyebrows raised slightly. he relaxes his fingers.
“choke me,” you let out, weakly, but you make up for it when the hand still around his wrist pulls him closer to you.
seungmin, smug as ever, gives you exactly what you want.
until you’re lightheaded and giggling and back where you started; head on his shoulder as his large hand rests on the back of your head, scratching lightly.

Wonwoo knows he can be a little aloof at times and he doesn’t mean to be. It’s just too easy to get lost in his head and his work so he really tries to focus on the little things. He refills your tea when it’s empty. Covers you with a blanket when you fall asleep on the couch, taking an extra minute to watch your even breathing and kiss your hair. He holds your hand in the car and he always touches you as he walks by, just to remind you that he’s here even when he’s not able to be fully present. There are short handwritten notes left all over the house. Some practical like “grabbing milk after work” and some more intimate like the one left stuck to the lamp on your bedside table, “I’ll be thinking about you all day. Dinner tonight, making reservations. I love you, xx” 🖤

I. HEARTS IN HERBOLOGY
Over the years you've spent at Hogwarts, your love for Herbology has blossomed into a deep passion. Contrary to what your peers say about the class being boring and useless, you believe they couldn't be more wrong. Herbology is an underrated and misunderstood subject that offers unique elements not found in other classes.
At first glance, certain plants looked welcoming, but from what you’ve learned, the most attractive herbs can be the most deadliest. This could even work the other way around. Growth patterns of the plants can directly affect its magical properties, which explains why the professors created emphasis on the care for plants.
Although Herbology looked like any other ordinary subject at Hogwarts, there were a lot more layers to its content. You suppose this was the reason why you grew to love the subject.
“What’s the difference between you and those flowers over there?”
Enter Choi Yeonjun. The main reason why advanced Herbology isn't the perfect class for you, and you mean that in the kindest way possible. Yeonjun is something else. While you hope to simply enjoy the class, he sees it as an opportunity to engage in endless conversation. You once joked with him that his voice could win a competition against a mandrake for being the most ear-piercing, but, surprisingly, he took no offense to this.
To make matters worse, a significant portion of his chatter is dedicated to shamelessly flirting with you. Despite months of this routine, he always finds new ways to keep things interesting, and you have to admit, it's quite impressive.
It was strange how all this had even started. You and Yeonjun were only familiar with each other because he was childhood friends with your fellow house member, Changbin. But after an encounter with the pair at Hogsmeade, Yeonjun started becoming quite adamant about making his presence known to you. And regardless of his motives and advances, you’ve, since then, been choosing not to indulge in his actions.
If you were given a knut every time someone asked you why you never gave him a chance, you’d be rich. Hell, you’d be bathing in galleons if you did, because this was Choi Yeonjun we were talking about. The one and only Choi Yeonjun who could practically steal hearts without the use of some silly charm pulled straight out of a textbook. He was reasonably one of the most attractive guys in the entirety of Hogwarts and his personality was one to adore, so you weren’t surprised with the persistent interrogation of those interested in him.
Though every question was worded differently, each one becoming more and more creative than the last, you hit them with the same, lazy explanation that you knew never left them satisfied.
“I just don’t see him in that way.”
Yeonjun stands by your side, hands comfortably nestled in gloves, which completely disregards Professor Longbottom's instructions that the gloves were not necessary for today's class. He looked ridiculous being the only one wearing the heavy-duty gloves. You hold back a laugh as your gaze follows his pointing finger, which leads you to a cluster of asphodels.
You look up at him, “One is an accessory to a deadly sleeping potion.” You’re cleaning up your area, making sure dirt is only where it was supposed to be.
“Y/N, c’mon~” Yeonjun whines, “Just play along.”
“Okay,” you huff, “What is it?”
Yeonjun stands quietly for a short moment, lips pressed together, “Now you made me forget what I was going to say, but it was something about you being pretty.” Yeonjun turns to put some pots away, leaving you unamused.
Although Yeonjun continues to make such advances, you admit that his playful personality was endearing. Just a few months ago, you regarded Yeonjun as nothing more than an annoyance, constantly looming around even when unwelcome, sort of like a wedgie. However, as time passed, you couldn't deny the odd bond that had formed between the two of you.
Just recently, you had reluctantly admitted to yourself that he’s grown on you to the point where you realize that the day would feel incomplete without his babbling. On a good day, you might even consider him your friend.
When Yeonjun returns, he flashes you a smile, “Do you have any plans for the weekend? Maybe I can take you to Hogsmeade.” He bends down slightly and reaches out, “You have a bit of dirt on your nose.” You feel his finger graze your nose for a quick second before it’s back at his side.
“I’m afraid I already do,” you hummed. Since the period has ended, you grab your belongings and take your leave. With no surprise, Yeonjun is trailing closely behind you.
Yeonjun’s lips were moulded into some sort of pout, brows furrowed, “Maybe the week after?”
“I have plans that week, too,” you say promptly, though you weren’t even entirely sure if you did, “Sorry, Yeonjun.”
Yeonjun narrows his eyes at you but you don’t catch him doing so. Instead, you’re dead set on finding your best friend Yena by the courtyard. Before Yeonjun could let out a sigh, he takes a big step forward and spins so that he’s facing you. Yeonjun executes this with ease. He’s quick on his feet and the next thing you know you’re walking into his chest.
“Don’t apologize.” Yeonjun grabs your wrist and swiftly pulls you to the edge of the hallway so you both aren't blocking the stream of students, “There’s always another week…” He pushes his lips towards one side of his face, eyes looking to the side. He was deep in thought, “Maybe you can come to the final game of the season? I know your house isn’t playing but it would be nice to have the support… I’ll even let you wear one of my extra uniforms… maybe some facepaint?” Yeonjun’s eyes light up at the thought.
“Yeonjun,” you say sternly.
“As a friend?” Yeonjun’s head is tilted to the side, brows knitting as he brings his lips into a pout, “Please?” His eyes pour into yours, making it hard for you to avoid his gaze. He’s waiting intently on a reply.
“I’ll… think about it,” You stall.
Yeonjun smiles, satisfied with your answer. Before he speaks up once again, he hears his name being called from across the hall. It was Wooyoung.
“I’ll see you later, beautiful~”
You groan and call out before you’re out of ear’s reach, “What did I tell you about pet names, Choi Yeonjun!”
Yeonjun turns to acknowledge you, but instead of saying anything to excuse himself, he sends you a wink before reaching his friend.
As expected.
You huff, shaking your head before you finally turn to the courtyard, where you immediately see Yena kicking dirt underneath one of the smaller trees. She pulls up her robe slightly, engrossed in watching the dirt particles defy gravity and form swirling clouds.
You say nothing as you approach her, laughing underneath your breath.
“You took so long I started growing white hair,” Yena jokes. She drops her robe and stands up a bit straighter, “Where to?”
When Yena finally catches a glimpse of your face, her brows furrow, “What’s wrong?” She leans forward to analyze your expression, eyes running back and forth across your face.
“Nothing’s wrong,” you say, “Let’s start heading for the hall.”
Yena clicks her tongue against her teeth and grabs your wrist, “I’m not stupid, you know. I can easily tell that something’s up. So, what’s up?”
“The sky,” you say wittingly. Yena gives you her stern, rather motherly, look, causing you to break immediately, “Yeonjun asked me to ‘hang out’ again.”
Her eyes widen, brightening, as a smile appears on her face.
The thing about Yena is that, despite understanding that you genuinely do not have feelings for Yeonjun, she still clung onto that ship for dear life. It was quite amusing watching her squeal over the smallest interactions between you both. You could say she was more delusional than Yeonjun was.
“Please tell me you said yes!”
“Well… I didn’t say no?” You look over at her, “I just told him I would think about it.”
“Progression!” She exclaims, “Character development!”
“Oh, shut your mouth,” you groan. You look around to make sure no one associated with Yeonjun was around, “I don’t even think he’s being serious.”
You and Yena are nearing the great hall and the smell of food is drifting out the big wooden doors and up your noses. You both are walking rather slowly, moving to the edge of the corridors to keep out of the other students’ ways, “Why would you think that? From how long he’s been at it, he seems rather serious about this.”
“Yen…” you sigh, “Have you seen the way he interacts with other people, better yet, girls? I don’t want to give him a chance because it already seems like he’s just doing this for fun. I don’t wanna be… sought after for entertainment.”
Yena throws an arm around your shoulders, “If you think that, then tell him you can’t go. Simple.”
“The Choi Yena telling me not to hang out with Yeonjun?” You scoff, “Please.”
“I’m actually giving you helpful, wise advice and this is what I get?” Yena huffs, “Fine. What I really wanted to say is that you should give him a chance. Who knows, he can actually be serious about you and you might end up liking him back.”
You shake your head, "Not until I know he has genuine feelings for me. Besides, I would have given it a shot if I had as little as a single cell in me that was interested in him. But, as you already know, I don’t.”
Yena eyes you down as if it were going to knock the honest truth out of you. But it doesn’t, because you were telling the truth. You have no feelings for Choi Yeonjun.
“Now let’s go eat,” you grumble, “Because you say the most unpleasant things when you’re hungry.”
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
When Yeonjun reaches Wooyoung, he’s greeted with a big fat thwack to the back of the head.
“Ow!” Yeonjun jumps, rubbing the area that the other had smacked, “What in Merlin’s name was that for?” The two begin making their way down the corridor, keeping a look out for Changbin who they should be crossing paths with sometime soon.
“For being a lovesick fool,” Wooyoung shoots, “Get yourself together!” He slaps Yeonjun’s back, “Why are you wasting time over someone who clearly doesn’t like you back when you can literally be with anyone else you want?”
Though Yeonjun knows that Wooyoung means well, he can't help but feel a twinge of offense at his friend's statement. He could go on about the reasons why he’s still trying, but he knows for certain that Wooyoung could not care less.
Frankly, when Yeonjun sets a goal for himself, there is no doubt he’ll be working towards that goal with no uncertainties. And this trait easily applies to this situation.
Yeonjun really likes you.
Sure, he doesn’t know the tiniest, intricate details about you, but based on what he’s heard through Changbin and things he’s learned while talking to you in class, he has this rather strong urge to get to know you better.
And he’s serious about this.
At a loss for words, Yeonjun blurts out the first thing that comes to mind, “She’s different.”
Wooyoung blinks back at his friend, “You better not be serious.”
“I’m just summing things up, Wooyoungie,” Yeonjun flicks Wooyoung’s shoulder, “I don’t take you as a guy who likes hearing things about feelings.”
“True that,” Changbin butts in. He slides in from a nearby classroom, briefly greeting the other two wizards.
Wooyoung glares at Changbin, “Do you even know what we were talking about?”
“Yes,” Changbin shrugs, “Y/N. Yeonjun. Who else?”
Wooyoung hums, “And you support Yeonjun making a fool out of himself?”
Before Yeonjun can shoot a remark at Wooyoung, Changbin quickly interjects, “Well, no, but I just want to see where it goes. Plus, Y/N didn’t explicitly say she didn’t like Yeonjun.”
“Wait, really?” No one notices but Yeonjun’s eyes light up at the information.
Changbin nods, “I mean to me at least. And you’d think she would tell me because you and I are friends. She just says that she has her own reasons or something.”
Yeonjun smiles to himself. That’s all he needed to know.

II. DOUBTS AND DUNDERHEADS
Yena’s reading the ingredients of a newly learned potion as you scan over the list yourself.
“You know, I don’t get why we’re even making this potion,” Yena grumbles. As you prepare the cauldron, Yena leaves the table to grab the ingredients, plopping them down carefully in an organized manner, “It’s much more dangerous than Amortentia, don’t you think?”
“I can see why you think that,” you chuckle under your breath. You eye the ingredients that Yena has set down, using your finger to track each one of them, “You forgot the moondew.” But seeing that your friend had already settled in her chair, you took it upon yourself to grab the plant at the bench at the back of the room.
“Moondew… moondew…” you mumble. You look around for the plant, shuffling back and forth in hopes of it catching your eye, “Where are you?”
Before you know it, the herb is being dangled right in your line of sight, causing your eyes to cross for a brief second, “Here you go~” Your eyes flicker up and you immediately spot the green lining of the sleeve.
You reach up to take it from him before turning around, “Thanks.” Yeonjun was standing rather close to you, though it wasn’t a creepy proximity. He’s just… tall. So to him you could guess that the distance between you both wasn’t as close as it was for you.
“Anything for you,” he hums and sends a smile and a wink your way.
You groan and shoot him a look, walking right past him, “Choi Yeonjun, is this your way of asking for me to give you this potion?”
He feigns hurt, “No. And even if it was, I know you wouldn’t do it.” Yeonjun follows you to your bench and you see that Yena’s placing the ingredients in order of which to drop in first. She smirks at his presence.
“And how would you know I wouldn’t?”
“I don’t know actually,” he shrugs, jutting his lip out in a pout. Yeonjun takes a step back to his bench, which was conveniently the one next to yours and Yena’s, before he continues, “I just feel like you wouldn’t.”
You furrow your brows right as Yena adds wormwood infusion into the cauldron. Your nose crinkles, “If I were you, I wouldn’t trust your gut.”
Yeonjun mindlessly takes the same step, gesturing for Wooyoung to go ahead with the next step, “I have a good intuition!” Yeonjun sounds like he’s genuinely trying to convince you of his secret powers.
“Well, okay, what number am I thinking of?” You add the asphodel into the cauldron before turning to look at Yeonjun. From the way his eyes were looking off to the ceiling, lips resting into a pout, you can tell he’s thinking.
“Eight.”
“Wrong, it was two.”
“Hey, you could have easily changed the answer!” Yeonjun exclaims, giving you the accusatory finger, “Cheater.”
“I thought your intuition was good,” you say, “Doesn't your intuition say something about if I really did cheat or not?” You make sure Yena’s stirring the mixture the way the textbook had instructed. She even went ahead to plop the sloth’s brain into the pot.
Then your professor speaks up, “Remember, students, that the hardest part of this potion is the stirring, please please pay attention to the stirring patterns.”
The entirety of your attention is brought back to your cauldron, you and Yena taking turns adding the needed components of the potion before preparing yourselves for the stirring. Meanwhile, Wooyoung and Yeonjun have already started stirring the mixture.
“Counter… counter… clockwise…” Wooyoung says slowly, making sure that Yeonjun’s stirring in the same direction as he instructed. When Wooyoung realizes that he’s on the other side of the table, he gasps, “Wait, that’s my counter, counter, clockwise!”
Yeonjun’s eyes widen before stirring the mixture the other way as if it would cancel out the stirs that he’s already completed. Then it dawned on him, “You dunce! It’s the same for you and me—”
And right as Yeonjun finishes his sentence, the mixed elements burst onto Yeonjun, leaving him covered in an odd-coloured substance.
Screams of surprise echo through the room before the same individuals burst into laughter, seeing that Yeonjun was now drenched and filthy. Yena was laughing out loud, fingers gripping the edge of the table to keep herself stable. You were trying your best not to laugh out loud, pressing your lips together to hide the growing smile on your face.
When the situation finally clicks, Yeonjun knocks himself out of his state of shock, using his own robe to wipe the substance off of his face. It was sticky, so there was a good amount of resistance keeping him from successfully cleaning himself up.
Now you feel bad.
You watch Yeonjun for a few moments to see if he truly needed help. But when you realized that he was practically hopeless on his own, you sighed and stood up, grabbing the boy by the wrist, “Professor, may we be excused? We will be back before class ends.”
He nods, allowing you both to leave. And at that, you’re dragging the long-limbed Slytherin out the door of the classroom. You take him down the stone corridor and towards the girls’ washroom. Your steps echo against the walls of the hallway as you fast-walk towards the end of the hall. Once you reach it, you sit Yeonjun down on a nearby window ledge, “Stay here, I’ll be back.”
Yeonjun nods, making himself comfortable. He watches you leave and disappear into the bathroom for a good thirty seconds before you return with one hand full of wet paper towels and the other with dry ones.
You start wiping off the gunk from the boy’s face, starting at his forehead and working your way down his face. You're half an arm’s length away from the boy, still trying to keep distance. You’re surprised at how easily the potion slides off his face with the help of water.
“I thought you were good at potions,” you grumble, “Next time you need to be careful… you’re lucky that the potion doesn’t get absorbed into skin because this situation could have been worse…” You continue scolding him under your breath, but it was so quiet that even the closeness between you doesn’t allow Yeonjun to hear what you’re saying.
You don’t notice the way Yeonjun is looking at you. His eyes are crossing just to catch a proper glimpse of your focused state, flickering between your lashes to your cheeks, and your lips… He mentally shakes his head to rid of all thoughts clouding his head, squeezing his eyes.
“You know, I don’t need help to clean myself up,” Yeonjun says, but his expression completely contradicts his words as he grins at your actions.
You freeze and take a step back to reassess the situation, “You’re right.” You hold the paper towels out to him, “Here.”
“Wait, but I do need help.”
You sigh and start wiping the remaining stuff off of his face, “You’re a dunderhead, you know that right?” You put pressure onto his cheek bone for a moment and plaster a playful smile on your mouth.
Yeonjun snickers, “Yeah, a dunderhead for you.”
Your smile drops from your lips and you frown, “Oh, shut up.” His face was basically clean from the potion. All that’s left was the dried liquid in his hair and some lingering on his robe.
“It’s true,” Yeonjun sighs. He wonders why you’re so against him and his advances. It’s not like he’s done anything wrong to you. You haven’t even given him a chance.
You roll your eyes and attempt to scrape off the dried up potion that was clinging on to his hair, “I’m guessing you’re a dunderhead for Chaewon and her friends too.” There’s a slight tone of passive aggressiveness in your voice but you don’t notice.
“What do you mean?” Yeonjun’s ears perk up, genuinely confused.
You let the question sit, finding the appropriate way to explain to Yeonjun what you meant. It was a difficult thing to put simply and you and Yeonjun were currently bound by time.
“Yeonjun I…” your eyes search Yeonjun’s as if he could physically hand you the help you needed, “I don’t believe you actually like me.” You almost cringe because it sounded as though you were accusing him of lying, but this was truly how you felt.
Yeonjun’s eyes widened, “W-what? Why do you think th—”
“You flirt with me—a lot—but you flirt with other people too,” you explain, “One second you’re calling me pretty and treating me nice and everything that, I admit, someone who likes that person would do… but the next you’re doing practically the same things for another person… How am I supposed to believe that you like me?”
Not that it mattered—you didn’t even have feelings for the boy—but it was good that he knew for someone he actually was interested in.
Yeonjun is taken aback by the confession. Is this how you felt the whole time? Is this why you haven’t actually given him the chance to take you out? “How can I prove to you that I’m serious?”
“You’re an expert at flirting, aren’t you?” you retort, “I’m pretty sure you can figure that out yourself.”

III. A SLYTHERIN’S EFFORT
After confronting the Slytherin about your feelings towards him and his actions, there was a period of complete silence over the following days. It was like radio silence—as if something had gone wrong with the antenna and you were forced to scramble to fix it. Encounters with him in the halls or in class were kept minimal by the boy, only going as far as saying a hi and goodbye before going on his merry way.
Judging from his actions, you took it as a confirmation that Yeonjun really didn’t have feelings for you. This realization evoked mixed emotions within you. Sure, you’re glad that you got him off your back, having the peace and quiet in herbology that you used to have. But you’d be lying if you said that you wished that Yeonjun would still speak every once in a while to fill that silence.
It was odd if you think about it. Why did Yeonjun even ask how he could prove his feelings for you if those feelings were non-existent? Was that just part of the ‘fun’? An attempt to get your hopes up before stopping altogether?
Ouch, you think, shaking your head to get rid of these thoughts from your head. If Yeonjun didn’t actually like you, he could’ve just said so. But hey, you should be ecstatic that he's finally done with this whole act, right?
At least he’s making it easy on you.
That is until Yeonjun came unannounced to the Gryffindor table one morning. He, surprisingly, did not don the smirk he often wore on his lips. Instead, his lips were curved into a gentle smile, his eyes mirroring the same warmth.
“Morning, Lions,” he greets.
“Changbin’s still at the dorms,” you mumble, dipping your head to sip on your soup.
Yeonjun shakes his head, “It doesn’t matter. I’m here for you.” He held out a small, white plastic bag toward you. It was full, but you weren’t quite sure with what.
You guess that Yeonjun read the confusion on your face, quickly following up his disorderly actions with, “My mom usually sends snacks and I asked her to send these for you.” You hear Yena almost choke on her food, but she shuts herself up by downing water.
Odd. “Oh… thank you?” You’re not even sure how to act, reaching out for the bag before sticking your nose into it to catch a glimpse of the aforementioned snacks. And funny enough, this is what catches you off-guard.
They were your favourite snacks—ones you couldn’t get here or at Hogsmeade.
“How did you know I liked these?” Yeonjun warms up at the way your eyes light up. You look up at him and thank him again.
Yeonjun shrugs, “You might have mentioned them a few times during herbology. Anyways, I gotta go back to the table. But I hope you enjoy those!”
“I will,” you say mostly to yourself. You set the bag on your lap and stare at it, puzzled.
“Ooo—”
You clamp your mouth over Yena’s mouth and side-eye her, “Shut your mouth right now or else I’m lodging a breadstick down your throat.”
Yena’s eyes widen but she grabs your hand and peels it off her face. She whispers, “I thought you said Yeonjun didn’t like you.” You nod, “I did but… No. I don’t think this means anything.”
“Are you crazy?” Yena’s eyes look like they’re about to pop out of her head, “He remembers what you’ve told him and he’s asked his own mother to send you these!”
You don’t look at Yena because she’s right. The process into actually pulling this off is… sweet. And thoughtful.
With a dismissive shake of your head, your gaze falls on the closest person, who happens to be Soobin, “Binnie, can you please pass the breadsticks?”
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
“Why do you like herbology?”
The question causes you to freeze, gloved-fingers stuck in the dirt when you try to process Yeonjun’s question of the day. When you look over at him, you realize he wasn’t even looking back at you. Instead, he was fiddling with the herbology textbook sitting on the table, flipping back and forth between the pages of today’s lesson.
You let out a sputtered "Huh?" as your head tilts to the side in confusion. The question seemed to have come out of nowhere, leaving you uncertain whether it was asked out of genuine curiosity or sheer boredom.
“I never really asked you why you liked the class so much,” Yeonjun takes a quick glance at you through the corner of his eye, “I mean well. I genuinely want to know.”
You wanted to continue questioning what was going on. First the snacks and now this?
Was Yeonjun broken?
Your mouth had opened just a bit in preparation to interrogate the boy, but since he had made it clear that he was being serious, you shut your mouth before mustering up an answer.
“There’s just something… interesting in the fact that all the plants we deal with can be used to create things that can either benefit or create drawbacks to a person’s life. Others have such useless purposes, too, but I still find it captivating that plants can do things you could hardly expect… Like mandrakes. They’re god-awfully annoying, but they can help heal curses and stuff.
“Then there’s dittany… I think it’s easily one of my favourites. They can help heal wounds easily so they come in handy in a lot of situations… like my grandma’s created her own ointment recipe with dittany and it’s done wonders in my family. I guess the main reason I like herbology is the idea that we can somehow use these things to help people. That’s what I prefer, at least.”
When you finished speaking, you realized that you have never said that out loud to anyone before. It was something that never came up in conversation—a topic you knew no one cared about—yet here you are blabbing on to Choi Yeonjun about your love for the subject.
“Wow, when you put it that way, herbology does sound cool.”
You furrowed your eyebrows and looked at him, “You’re saying that as if you’re not in an advanced class right now.”
The softest grin appears on Yeonjun’s face as he pushes his textbook away from him, “I know. But herbology isn't the main reason I’m here.”
“Then, what are you doing here?”
“For you.”
The corners of your lips lift at the brief appearance of the playful Yeonjun you were familiar with. Of course, you think.
Before you could even question further, Professor Longbottom launched into another rant about the day's lesson, drawing your attention away from the strange, indescribable sensation that was slowly taking over your heart.

You were on your way back to the hall for dinner having taken a stroll around the castle grounds after a nap. With workload becoming heavier and days growing shorter due to the time of year, you were hoping to clear your mind while sightseeing.
You couldn’t say it worked, though.
All your mind could do was wander back to the topic of the upcoming defense of the dark arts exam, the feeling of anxiety continues to creep up your neck despite the efforts to get rid of them. The subject was not one of your strengths, as your strong distaste for dueling led to a lack of effort in the class.
Now that a practical assessment was coming up, you weren’t sure how you were going to do… and frankly you didn’t like doing horribly in your classes.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
You gasp quietly at the sudden presence of Yeonjun, who’s wearing an odd combination of his quidditch uniform and training attire. In his hand he’s holding his broomstick. By the looks of it, he just came from quidditch practice.
"I don't think it matters that much," you let out a lackluster, breathy chuckle and continue walking towards the castle. Yeonjun adjusts his pace to match yours, even though his long limbs seem eager to move faster.
“That look on your face says otherwise,” he shrugs, “But, do not worry, you still look as pretty as always.”
You stop in your tracks and glare at the boy, who halts two steps too late.
“What?” Yeonjun questions, “It’s true.” He recognizes a specific glint in your eyes and Yeonjun realizes that this was not the time to be flirting, “In all seriousness, though, what’s wrong?”
Yeonjun takes you by surprise once again and you almost stumble in your steps from his efforts. It was nice to see that Yeonjun did have this side of him. While you've grown fond of his playful personality, it's refreshing to witness him in a different light.
You think about what you want to say to Yeonjun. “I think it’ll help more if you just tell me about your day,” you tell him. You needed distraction from the near-overbearing stress that you’re experiencing. In hindsight, you realized that taking a stroll alone may have been a mistake. Being left alone with your thoughts was never a favourable situation for you or for anyone.
Yeonjun immediately understands the situation, and before you know it, no questions asked, he begins to tell you all about his quidditch practice.
Yeonjun’s position was the team’s beater, so he spent the entire practice with his fellow house member, Jongho, who was also a beater, hitting bludgers back and forth to get used to what strength they needed to exert to send it going any way they wanted.
“We were just hitting it back and forth,” he says, “Like we always do. But this time, we decided to use our non-dominant hands to hit them.” Yeonjun swings his left arm as he continues, “And, you see, Jongho’s left handed so we made this a competition between just the two of us to see who was better with their other arm.
“So we went back and forth. It was hard at first, but he and I started getting… cocky about how I was doing better. It was actually terrifying because, you know, the rest of the team was just there… they could easily have been hit and all. But since, we’re the best beaters in this entire school—” Yeonjun sends a prideful smile your way and you can’t help but scoff, “—we didn’t let that happen–”
“Until?” you butt in.
Yeonjun’s eyes widened, “I can’t believe you think there’s an ‘until.’
“Am I wrong?”
Then, Yeonjun's eyes narrow and he tightens his lips into a thin line. "You're lucky you're cute..." he remarks, reaching out to poke your cheek. Surprisingly, you let him do it. "Anyways," he continues, "That was until we remembered that we also have a coach... guess who's at the infirmary with a bruise as big as a crab apple?"
You gasp, “I thought you guys were Hogwarts’ best beaters?”
Yeonjun exclaims, “We are!”
“Then why is your coach in the infirmary?”
“Accidents happen!” Yeonjun defends himself, “He’s alright, though. The nurse says he’s going to be back in shape by tomorrow.”
The conversation turned out to be much more enjoyable than you had anticipated, and before you knew it, you were already approaching the doors of the hall. You could see other students trickling in, and your eyes instantly caught sight of Yena through the doors.
“That’s good to hear,” you stifle a laugh, “Anyways, I gotta go, I’m starving.”
As you’re turning to leave, you’re stopped by Yeonjun, who has reached out to grab your wrist, “I hope your problems will be resolved soon.”
A warm feeling tickles your chest and you let a genuine smile appear on your lips, “Thanks, Yeonjun.”
With that, you give him a small wave and head inside the hall to join Yena and the other students for dinner, feeling more at ease than before.

IV. THE GLOVES
If given the chance to describe your best friend in one word, you’d say spontaneous. Since the day you met her, she has the habit of making a decision in one moment and then completely changing course in the next. It was a trait of her’s that you found rather impressive, because you could never live your life like that. But despite being impressed, it's still hard to deny that it doesn’t occasionally frustrate you.
Last night, Yena was determined to study for the upcoming dark arts exam over the weekend—you even agreed to study with her (which wasn’t the best option on your end)—but upon waking up at right at noon, she’s decided to give up on this goal and, instead, take an impromptu trip to Hogsmeade. What’s worse was that she’s dragging you along with her, practically giving you no choice but to tag along.
Although you had no plans for the weekend but to begin studying, you were planning on staying in the dorms because temperatures were dropping to an uncomfortable low. You were in no mood to visit Hogsmeade since it did take a great deal of walking to get around. But since Yena would not shut up until you agreed to come, you were now digging through your trunk, trying to find the pair of gloves you swear you packed.
“Y/N, make haste!” Yena exclaims from downstairs, “Time is ticking!”
“If you keep speaking like we’re in the nineteenth century, I will not make haste,” you yell back. There’s a sudden urge to bang your head against your trunk. Your gloves were nowhere to be seen and now you have to accept the fact that Jack’s going to be nipping your fingertips during the entire trip.
Slamming the trunk shut, you let out a deep huff and pull your coat sleeves down over your hands.
This will have to do.
Yena makes a beeline for Honeydukes the second you make it onto Hogsmeade grounds. She’s hauling you along with her, and you do nothing to protest.
“My supply of jelly slugs are dwindling,” she mutters, throwing the door open before stepping foot inside. The warmth is comforting, especially since the two of you had been walking in the cold for the past 20 minutes, “Changbin took two packs because apparently I owed him.”
You look at her, “Why did you even give them if you weren’t even sure?” Yena’s arms are filled with jelly slug packages, cradling them as if she gave birth to them.
She shrugs, “I was actually convinced I owed him until I thought about it.” She secures the sweets and looks over at you, “Don’t you want anything?”
You scan the selection of candies and chocolates surrounding the both of you, “I suppose I can use some gum for studying.”
“Ooh, you’re right! Grab me a pack too, please!” She’s jutting her chin to gesture towards the pack of gum laid out on a nearby shelf, thanking you when you grab a pack for you both, “I’ll pay for it since I forced you to come with me.”
You don’t protest again, “Fine by me.”
Plopping all the sweets down onto the counter, you immediately see the look of horror on the employee’s face. You can read her mind—probably thinking that Yena was crazy. “I-is that all, sweetheart?” Yena nods and slides her a note before even waiting for the total.
On your way out, she’s already ripped a pack open, snacking on the slugs, “Want one?”
Before you can even reply, a male voice butts in, “Don’t mind if I do!” To accompany it, a hand slides in from your left and straight into Yena’s new bag of jelly slugs. This slightly startles the both of you, stumbling away from the new presence.
Yena groans, “Seo Changbin, you literally have the ones I gave you back at the dorms!” Yena tucks the candy into her sleeve and gives Changbin a crossed look—one that could kill.
“Wait, I want one!” Wooyoung appears from behind Changbin, who’s closely followed by Yeonjun. Both boys have their chins tucked into their jackets, hands stuffed deep in their pockets, “May I please have one?”
Yeonjun waves at you, and though you couldn’t clearly see his mouth, you can tell he was smiling because it reaches his eyes. You wave back and you couldn’t help but mirror his expression.
Yena blinks for a quick moment, but then moves slowly to give the Slytherin a single slug, “Only cause you asked nicely… unlike someone over here.” She shoots Changbin another deadly glare before moving on, “What are you guys doing here?”
Wooyoung uses his thumb to point toward the castle, “We were just about to head back. You guys?”
Yena shrugs, “I’m about ninety-percent sure we were going to head back, too. Unless you have somewhere to go, Y/N?” Your best friend’s looking at you, waiting for a reply.
“Oh, uh…” you shake your head, “No.”
Yeonjun beams, “That’s great! We can all walk back together?”
You don’t notice the way Yena smirks before she agrees on behalf of the both of you, “Sure, why not?”
And before you know it, you find yourself walking alongside Yena and the boys, witnessing Changbin and Wooyoung playfully shoving each other off the path. Yeonjun takes long strides beside them, unsurprisingly condoning the play-fighting. Yena’s busy picking out specific jelly slugs from her bag, occasionally looking up to make sure she doesn’t stumble over a rock or tree root.
“If you guys hit me, you’re getting hit back,” she mutters, attention still directed towards her sweets.
Meanwhile, you’re freezing your arse off at the rear of the group. You feel the chill in the air seeping into your bones and you’re desperately blowing warm air into your hands in hopes that you won’t get frostbite.
As the castle grows closer with each step, you feel the urge to break away from the group and sprint ahead, painfully longing for the warmth of the castle. Your hands are numb, and at this point, you’re afraid that you’re never going to get sensation back, even if you go as far as sticking your limbs into fire.
The thought makes you panic. Sure it was a bit unrealistic, but still your mind rushes past a bajillion different thoughts that involve things you did with your hands. Herbology, crocheting, playing sports… what if you can’t do those anymo—
“Here.”
You blink to suck yourself back to reality, shaking your head to grasp how Yeonjun was now directly in front of you. His arm is extended, handing you something that you don’t quite recognize at first. After taking a closer look, you realize that he’s handing you over his own pair of gloves.
“Huh?”
“Gloves.”
“I know what they are,” you say softly, “But for what?”
“You’ve been breathing into your hands since we left Hogsmeade,” Yeonjun points out, “So put these on. I can take them back when we get to the castle.” He nudges the mittens towards you, urging you to take them. “Take them.”
You can’t help but feel your cheeks heat up at the gesture. “I’m okay. Besides, you need them, too.”
You attempt to walk around the boy but he stops you, "I don't want to see you freeze. It's either these gloves or... I hold your hands to warm them up." His voice trails off with a playful hint, and you can't help but feel your heart flutter at the thought. But as quick as the feeling came, you knock some sense back into your head before you hastily pluck the mits out of his hands.
“Good,” he grins, patting your head through your toque. As you slide your hands into the gloves, you realize they're a bit too big for you, causing them to slip off easily. You ball your hands into fists and stick them into your pockets. Then Yeonjun asks, “Hey, have you thought about the game?”
To be honest, the invitation had almost slipped your mind amidst the recent events. However, now you find yourself more open to the idea. But before you could confirm that you were willing to go, the yelling of both Wooyoung and Changbin interrupted your conversation.
Yeonjun apologizes and groans, making a beeline to the other two to calm them down.
“I swear it wasn’t this far of a walk to Hogsmeade.” Your best friend stuffs her hands into her pockets and sinks her head behind the collar of her jacket.
“No, I’m not carrying you to the castle,” Changbin looks like he turned his head 180 degrees to look back at Yena, but it was just his coat giving you the illusion.
“Who in bloody hell said I wanted to be carried by you,” Yena gags. She bends down to pick up the nearest pebble before chucking it at Changbin’s leg. The latter flinches, and again, his head spins to look at you both. He sends Yena a dirty look before maturely continuing on (mainly because Yeonjun already gave him a warning).
The five of you trek back to the school grounds in near silence, the exhaustion evident in your steps as the chilly weather envelopes the area. You wonder if Yena actually regrets going to Hogsmeade on such a gloomy day, but when you look over to check how she’s doing, she’s munching on the jelly slugs with a content expression.
As the Slytherins break off, Wooyoung bids a simple "goodbye," forcefully dragging Yeonjun along with him. He knows damn well that Yeonjun’s going to spend an extra 10 minutes talking to you when all he wants is to get back to the dorms to take a nap.
Wooyoung’s so quick to leave that the two disappear in the blink of an eye and you’re not given the chance to return Yeonjun’s mittens. Though, it was also on you for not remembering to give it back.
Yena notices how you’ve slipped the mittens off and are now staring at the pair as if they hold some sort of enchantment. “And you still haven’t fallen for him yet?” Yena smirks, eyeing the item of clothing in your hand.
“Gross, why would I?” Your face scrunches and you hold the gloves out to Changbin using your index and your thumb, “Take them. Give them back to him.”
“Please,” Yena scoffs, “Don’t lie, I know you’re all warm and fuzzy for Yeonjun.” Yena playfully pushes Changbin's arms away, preventing you from giving him the mittens, “And don’t give those to the poor boy. Return them yourself.”
"Poor boy?" Changbin questions, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
You groan, “I’m not all ‘warm and fuzzy’ for Yeonjun.” You look down at the gloves in your hands, “Obviously, I like him better than before but my feelings for him aren’t romantic.”
“Poor boy?” Changbin repeats, but seeing that you and Yena were absorbed in your own conversation, he gives up.
The three of you finally reach the portrait of the Fat Lady. Yena rolls her eyes, “Mmmhmm… it’s just a matter of time before you actually start liking him like that.” She mutters the password and soon, you’re making your way into the common room. It was miraculously empty.
“What do you even mean by that?”
Yena throws her head into her hand and palms her face, “My sweet, sweet Y/N… Think about it. Not too long ago, you were constantly complaining about Yeonjun and how irritating he was. Now you’ve just confessed that you like him better than before. Guess what the next stage is?”
“Best friends,” you answer, attempting to seem nonchalant about the subject.
“You guys talk more than he and I do,” Changbin points out, snickering, “And we’re best friends.” Yena nods eagerly, gesturing to the boy as if he’s made a life-changing statement.
You shrug, “That doesn’t mean anything.”
“Hmm, I don’t know about that,” Yena speculates, “Can I point out that you were in a bad mood the four days Yeonjun barely spoke to you?”
“I was in a bad mood because of the potions exam,” you justify, “And I have you as a partner.”
“Okay, fair, but you have to admit it wasn’t all just because of that,” Yena pushes.
“I won’t because it was all because of that,” you facepalm, “You’re just saying anything at this point.” “You can’t tell me you didn’t feel at least something after all those things that’s happened this week,” Yena remarks, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms in a challenging manner.
“Things?” Changbin’s eyes grow wide, “What things?”
“They mean nothing,” you repeat, “Just… friendly random acts of kindness, which I do appreciate. Nothing wrong with it.”
“There’s also nothing wrong with admitting that you like him at least a smidge,” Yena frowns, “I know you’re a softie at heart, and I know there’s no way that you didn’t feel all warm and fuzzy at least once.”
As Yena continues to probe about your feelings for Yeonjun, your stubborn nature kicks in, and you find yourself reluctant to admit what she’s assuming. Sure, your heart might have skipped a beat or two because of Yeonjun, but it was just a momentary flutter, a reaction that doesn't hold any significant meaning.
Right?
Besides, you weren't ready to admit something to others that you hadn't fully come to terms with yourself.
So you shake your head and deny, “Nope. Not once.”
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
If Yena saw how much of a fuss you were making over something as simple as returning Yeonjun's gloves, she would tease you relentlessly. So you figured that this would be a solo quest, one that required not being caught by Yena.
You stand at the doors of the hall, gloves clutched in your hands as you try to search for the Slytherin. The hall was busier than you thought, but it wasn’t intimidating. You’re not even sure why you’re worried about this. You were simply handing the gloves back and telling him that you were going to the game as friends. It really didn’t mean anything.
A sense of relief washes over you when you spot Yeonjun fooling around with Wooyoung and Changbin in a relatively empty area. This means that you can get this over with. Hand them over, tell him, then you’re done. Simple.
Working up the courage to do it, you slowly make your way down the long room, gripping the gloves tightly with one hand. When you’re near, it's Wooyoung who first catches sight of you since he happens to be facing your direction. He utters something that you couldn't quite make out, but it's accompanied by a gesture that catches the attention of Yeonjun and Changbin, prompting them to turn around.
Yeonjun lights up, which you only interpret as a smile, before he waves at you, “Y/N!”
You don't know why you’re suddenly shy, feeling yourself shrink under the attention of Yeonjun. You grin back and give them all a small wave before you take small steps, “I forgot to return these the other day.” You hold it out to him. Your arm begins to shake at the slightest, so you steady it with your other arm.
“Did you really forget or did you want to keep them?” He teases, sending a wink before gently retrieving them. He thanks you.
You feel your cheeks heat up and you shake your head, “I forgot to… if it weren’t for Wooyoung who dragged you away.” You give the other Slytherin a look, “And… before I leave, I didn’t get to tell you yesterday that—”
“Choi Yeonjun,” a female voice rudely interrupts your sentence. You’re slightly shoved to the side by another Slytherin who you were not familiar with (nor did you care), taking your place in front of Yeonjun. Changbin looks like he’s about to tell her off, giving you a sympathetic look.
“Kim Hyunji,” Yeonjun greets, “What brings you here?”
You start playing with the sleeves of your wool sweater, growing impatient despite the fact that the new presence has barely been there for a minute. The words being exchanged between Yeonjun and the girl soon turn into an unintelligible babble, leaving your mind unable to grasp their conversation. But judging by the way the girl grew gradually closer to Yeonjun, you didn’t need to know what was being said. The exchange goes on for a bit too long for your liking and you can feel your brows dropping to form a scowl.
As you recall the recent interactions with Yeonjun, you realize that amidst all of them, you forgot that Yeonjun was still the flirt that he was. Sure, it probably came naturally to him, but witnessing him flirt with another girl evokes a foreign feeling that tickles your chest.
“I’ll see you there, then?” Yeonjun’s words are suddenly clear and you feel something tap your chest.
“Of course I’ll be,” she replies, a smirk forming on her face as she turns to leave.
The second she’s gone, Yeonjun turns back at you, eyes softening, “Sorry, Y/N, she tends to do that a lot… what were you saying?’
As if you’ve experienced an emotional whiplash, you freeze and lose the words that you previously practiced in your head. Your mouth opens but nothing comes out.
What was happening?
“Y/N? Are you okay?”
You swallow nervously and, in a hushed voice, you say, "I-it can wait." Without wasting a moment, you swiftly leave the room, your hand instinctively moving to your head as you try to make sense of your confusion.
Finding the nearest bench outside of the hall, you sit down and catch your breath, unable to focus on anything else that was going on around you.
“Y/N?” Your eyes meet Yena's, and without hesitation, she takes the empty seat next to you, her brows furrowed with concern. “What’s wrong?”
You’re chewing on your bottom lip, trying to explain exactly what you’re feeling, “What does being jealous feel like?”
Yena hums to indicate that she’s thinking. She presses her lips into a thin line and looks around, “I think the best way to describe it is kinda like… you want to squash whoever you’re jealous of with a boot.”
You’re not sure if that was even an accurate way to describe jealousy, but the way Yena describes it is exactly how you felt with Hyunji. Sure, you’d never ever condone physical aggression, but if you had the power to pull her out of that conversation with Yeonjun like a mandrake, you would.
“Bloody hell,” you mutter. Because why in Merlin’s name would a single cell in your body be feeling jealousy in that situation? You have no right being jealous of this girl. Not when you don’t have feelings for Yeonjun.
Yena’s ears perk up and lean closer, “Bloody hell? What do you mean bloody hell?”
Unless… you do have feelings for Yeonjun.
Which could explain every odd thing that’s been happening to you. The way you practically dreaded the days when Yeonjun spoke to you so minimally. The way Yeonjun has made your heart skip more beats than one. The way you were feeling jealous over some girl you’ve never met before.
Maybe you did have feelings for Yeonjun and maybe it was time that you had to accept them.
“And what does it mean if someone makes my heart race?”
Yena’s jaw drops, finally processing what’s going on. You didn’t even need to explicitly say Yeonjun’s name to indicate that this was about him. She saw it coming. But she doesn’t want to ruin the moment. She’ll let you tell her yourself, “Depends… is it in a good or bad way?”
“I suppose…” you blink, “Both?” Confirmed, Yena holds back a smile, “It means you like that someone a lot.”

V. AND THE DITTANY
No you weren’t avoiding Yeonjun on purpose.
You do embarrassingly admit that you’re afraid to see him after the whole ‘realizing your feelings’ ordeal, but it's as if the universe decided to give you a break today and made sure you and Yeonjun wouldn't cross paths.
By some stroke of luck, or perhaps the mischievous workings of fate, today was a day that you and Yeonjun did not share one class apart from herbology, which had miraculously been cancelled at the very last minute. It seemed almost magical that you didn't cross each other's paths at all during the entire school day.
To be wise with your time, you took the day away from Yeonjun in an attempt to think the situation through. Because what do you do now?
Do you just drop the bomb on him like, ‘oh hey, I like you by the way!” Or should you keep it a secret for a bit to build momentum?
Yena was quick to advise that you should confess ASAP, “And preferably at the quidditch game! Imagine how cute! You’re cheering for him and only him… and when the snakes win, you’re going to be there and—” Then you interrupted her because you weren’t completely sure if that was even the best way to go about it.
But if you think about it, Yeonjun was a simple guy. You could tell through the way he did decide to show you that his feelings were genuine—bullocks! He paid attention to all you had to say in herbology, asked his own mother to send your favourite snacks just to give them to you… he didn’t hesitate to make you feel better the day you were stressed for an exam.
Hell, even before you confronted him, Yeonjun had been showering you with the sweetest gestures that you could only now fully appreciate.
If only you could knock some sense into your past self.
“The library will be closing soon,” you look up and find the library’s student assistant, an apologetic smile sitting rather awkwardly on his face. With a nod, you wait for him to leave, giving yourself a moment to gather your thoughts. You begin collecting your things, the fatigue from the long day making your eyes feel strained and exhausted. Almost as if they could pop out of their sockets with the slightest blink.
As you make your way back to the Gryffindor dormitories, you hear shuffling far behind you before you suddenly hear your name being called out. You turn around to see who it was, and to your surprise, it's Yeonjun, running down the empty corridor with his arms waving frantically to get your attention.
When he finally catches up to you, you greet him with a shy smile, “Yeonjun.”
“I haven’t seen you all day,” he says, a pout appearing on his lips, “I was looking forward to herbology because I finally got to see you, but curse Professor Longbottom for eating bad soup.”
Your stomach flutters at his nonchalant comment and you feel shoving your head into the nearest bush, “Yeah, haha… What are you doing here?”
“I was just going on a stroll to clear my head,” he grins, “Are you heading back to your dormitory?”
You nod.
“Well, let me walk you back then,” Yeonjun offers and you don’t protest. If you hadn’t seen Yeonjun all day, at least you had this, “Don’t want evil creatures creeping up on you.”
You give him a look, “Don’t be silly. There aren’t any evil creatures on the school grounds.”
“I know,” Yeonjun snickers, “It’s just an excuse for me to walk you anyway. But my intuition is telling me that you would have let me regardless.” He leans forward and down to your height, pretending to search your eyes for answers, but you don’t budge.
“Your intuition is wrong,” you say, trying to avoid eye contact.
“Never. At least, not this time,” Yeonjun shakes his head, “Anyways, I’m happy I bumped into you because I was going to ask you if you’ve decided on coming to the game.”
“That… that was what I was going to tell you the other day with the gloves but—”
“But Hyunji, I know,” Yeonjun nods, “I know it sounds like I invited her to the game but since she’s a Slytherin, she was going to go anyways and—” Yeonjun sighs and pauses to find words to explain the situation, “I want you to know that you were the only one I invited.”
The tone in Yeonjun’s voice takes you by surprise. You can tell that he still has his mind set on proving to you that he has feelings for you and no one else. You frown, “Yeonjun… I know you’re only telling me this because of what I told you that day during potions but… I want to tell you now that I believe you.”
Yeonjun’s face lights up and questions, “You do?”
You nod bashfully, “I realized it that day on the way back from Hogsmeade.”
Yeonjun wishes he could tell how much that meant to him, a feeling of relief washing over him like soft waves, “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For believing,” he grins, “It’s one step closer to making you like me.” Yeonjun winks before his eyes squeeze shut, breaking into a wide smile. His expression fills with an exaggerated appearance of triumph.
“Hmm, we’ll see about that, Choi Yeonjun,” You laugh at the irony, “Anyways, I was saying that I will be going to the game.”
“You are—”
“For Jongho,” you tease, “The best beater of the team.”
“You don’t even know Jongho!” Yeonjun exclaims, “How can you—”
“I’m joking,” you poke the side of his arm and roll your eyes, “I’m going for you. The only one who invited me.”
“In that case, I’ll lend you some facepaint and my extra jersey—” He stops when he sees the look you’re giving him, “Just the face paint then?”
Although a small part of you would have wanted to wear his jersey, you were still currently keeping your feelings to yourself. Rejecting the jersey before and suddenly accepting it would look a bit too suspicious, “I suppose that would be fine.”
You don’t realize that you’re at the portrait and you can’t help but feel a bit bummed that the walk was over. It was too short. You barely had the opportunity to talk with Yeonjun about anything else, “I’ll see you then?”
Yeonjun nods, a smile reaching his eyes, “Yes I will.”

The day of the game, you, Yena, and Changbin found yourselves in search of ways to pass the time before it was time to head for the pitch. There was truly nothing to do, so you all opted on taking the longest route around the castle possible.
The three of you were dressed in any green item of clothing you could find in your packed clothes, agreeing that it would have been odd if you all showed up in Gryffindor attire. If you were there to cheer for Yeonjun, you all had to at least look the part.
Yena takes the opportunity to fill the silence, bubbling with excitement as she talks about the day's upcoming events, specifically your plan to finally confess your feelings to Yeonjun. She knows that you weren't keen on going along with her previous ideas, so she gave you the freedom to come up with your own plan. “Tell me what you’ve come up with.”
“Well,” you begin hesitantly. Truthfully, you have not found the time to think the plan through, opting to just ‘wing it’ when the time came, “I was just thinking of simply telling him?”
“That’s the most rubbish plan I’ve heard in my years of living,” Yena blinks.
Changbin snorts, “I don’t even think that’s considered a plan.”
You scowl and give them both a look, “I just don’t want to make too much of a fuss.”
“I know you don’t,” Yena blinks, “But there’s something missing.”
“This is going to be gross,” Changbin grumbles, completely ignoring the problem, “I don’t want to see you and Yeonjun getting all mushy-gushy around me!”
You physically jump, “You could have used any other term and you settled for ‘mushy-gushy’...”
“I’m serious!” The boy exclaims, “I support you two… getting together… but please don’t be those couples that do PDA in the halls.”
“You really think Y/N would do that? She would never…” Yena scoffs. Then she looks over at you with a slight glint of fear in her eyes, “R-right Y/N?”
You nod, “Never. And I give you both permission to knock me into my senses if I do.”
From a distance, the sound of rapid footsteps reach your ears, gradually growing louder and closer.
“Why… in Merlin’s… beard… are you all… the way…” Wooyoung gulps as if he could catch his breath easier, “Back here?” He’s clutching items in his hands and he holds them out for any of you to take them, “Yeonjun said… oh, bloody hell.”
You watch him catch his breath for a couple of long moments before he starts again, “Yeonjun said he forgot to give you these.” Reluctantly, you take them to get a better look. Turns out, it was just two small cans of silver and green face paint, “He was going to give you them himself but he was called in by the coach for a pre-game talk.”
“You ran to find us just for this?” you say, “You could have just met us at the game.”
Wooyoung shakes his head, “Nope, I was sent to find you.” He takes in the outfits that you three were wearing, “It looks odd seeing you all in something that isn’t black, red, or gold.”
Something in Wooyoung’s comment causes something to click in Yena’s head, brows shooting up, “Jung Wooyoung, can you help us out?”
“Depends…” Wooyoung says carefully, “What’s in it for me?”
“I can’t believe you made me steal one of Yeonjun’s extra uniforms,” Wooyoung groans, unamused. He’s out of breath again, having to run back to the Slytherin dormitories and to a chosen meet up spot next to the bathroom.
“We’re not stealing, we’re borrowing,” Yena rolls her eyes, grabbing the jersey from Wooyoung, “Besides you could have said no.” Without another word, your friend grabs your wrist and pulls you into the bathroom.
“Put it on,” Yena says, “And then we can paint your face.”
“You seem more excited than I am,” your voice is laced with equal parts intrigue and nervousness. Finally giving in to wearing Yeonjun's jersey (and without him knowing) was something even you didn’t expect, especially since you had turned down the idea before.
“It’s ‘cause there’s nothing to even fret about,” Yena scoffs, helping you tug the larger jersey on, “Okay, now for the facepaint.”
Yena was wrong. Sure, you knew Yeonjun’s feelings for you were reciprocated, but there was just something about confessing your feelings that was downright terrifying.
Positioning herself in front of you, your best friend blocks your view of the mirror, and with a mischievous grin, dips her fingers into the paint. Without any hesitation, she begins painting the right side of your face, her touch gentle and precise. You can feel her fingers tracing a swoop underneath your eye and on your cheek bones. With the same maneuver, she moves to the left side of your face, creating another swoop, but this time, just overtop your brow bone.
“And for fun,” Yena presses dots on your left cheek and right brow bone to create a reverse image on your face, “Okay, now take a look.” She backs away from you, letting you look into the mirror.
You couldn’t help but cringe at the silver and green paint on your face, not to mention the green jersey you were donning. You looked like you were a Slytherin, which in this case was a good thing, but it still pained your inner Gryffindor.
“You look cute, even though you’re wearing green and silver,” Yena smiles, “Anyways, we should get going. The game starts soon and we need good seats for your boyfriend to see you~”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” you groan childishly. She drags you back out the bathroom, causing you to stumble out through the doors and in line of sight of Wooyoung and Changbin.
“He will be soon enough.”
“Traitor!” Changbin jokes, pointing to you, “Gryffindor’s got a traitor!”
“Can you shut your mouth or I’m stuffing it with the first critter I find in this castle,” you say through gritted teeth.
Changbin puts his arms up in a feigned surrender, “Can’t believe you’re doing this all for Yeonjun.”
“You look pretty Slytherin-y,” Wooyoung nods in approval, “You’re going to knock him off of his broom.”
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
“Welcome to the final game of the season!” The announcer, Soobin, delivers, “Today… Slytherin versus Hufflepuff!” Soobin’s voice is followed by whoops and whistles, livening up the stands. You’re cheering alongside everyone else, feeling the nerves begin to dissipate as your attention is directed toward the game.
You can see the players are making rounds in the air, getting a feel of the pitch before the game begins. Your eyes try to spot Yeonjun, who, at first, was nowhere to be found.
“Where is he?” you whisper. The players zoom by so quickly that they appear as mere blurs, their movements too swift for your eyes to track.
Slowly, the players start taking their positions at the center, facing each other as they wait for the referee to release the snitch, the bludgers, and the quaffle. And there, right by the goals, you spot him, positioned next to who you assumed is Jongho. You feel a kick of energy take over your system and you begin shouting for the green team (mostly Yeonjun).
As if he had a sixth sense, Yeonjun feels your gaze on him. When he manages to find you in the small sea of people his face lights up. His nose scrunches up as he playfully waves, all before he puckers his lips and sends a blown kiss your way.
And although you’re supposed to be used to Choi Yeonjun’s flirty antics, you’re left stunned and internally screaming, unsure of how to react in that moment. You're lucky Yeonjun doesn't catch sight of all this, too busy refocusing on the game that was about to begin.
“The game begins! The Hufflepuffs have taken possession of the quaffle!” You hear Soobin’s voice boom over the speakers.
Although you weren't much of a regular at Quidditch games like the other wizards, you did understand the appeal. The current game was thrilling, both teams proving their worth as the score remains neck and neck. But to be embarrassingly honest, the first two periods seemed like a blur to you, as most of your attention was shamelessly focused on Yeonjun.
“Make sure your eyes stay in your head, now,” Yena teases, leaning over to whisper, “You have all the time in the world after this.”
“Am I being that obvious,” you freeze, eyes widening.
Yena nods, “Yeah, but only to me because I know. I don’t think anyone around here would notice you staring at him.”
Changbin butts in, “I noticed.”
“And no one asked,” Yena redirects Changbin’s head to the game.
Just as Yena leans in to whisper another comment, the booming voice of Soobin echoes through the speakers, announcing, "Slytherin's Choi Yeonjun is currently taking on two bludgers!"
Your gaze snaps towards the pitch, searching for Yeonjun in the sky. True to Soobin's words, you spot Yeonjun veering away from the bludgers that chase after him. The determination etched on his face is evident as he’s trying to carefully time his swings to counter the oncoming attacks. Jongho trails closely behind, swinging his bat in an effort to redirect at least one bludger off course, but his attempts fail.
“Can bludgers even do that?” Wooyoung yells, “They can’t, right?”
Changbin and Yena shrug while your attention is still entirely on Yeonjun. “C’mon, Yeonjun,” you mutter underneath your breath.
Everyone around you seemed to be holding their breath, their eyes fixated on Yeonjun. It feels as if time has slowed down, with the entire crowd sharing a collective sense of anticipation. The other players were, for the time being, long forgotten, completely uncertain about what’s going to happen next.
Was Yeonjun going to be able to out-fly the bludgers or was he going to be knocked?
As you watch Yeonjun continue to fly, you can't quite tell if the bludgers are picking up speed or if he was slowing down. But you’re sure of one thing, the gap between Yeonjun and those bludgers was closing in fast—so close that you found yourself bracing for impact.
“He’s hit!” Soobin yells through the microphone, which was closely followed by a whistle.
Your eyes widen in shock as Yeonjun, in a desperate attempt to regain balance on his broom, slips and loses control of the broom. Before anyone could even process what was happening, the broom shoots straight to the ground, taking Yeonjun with it.
You're left speechless, leaning over the railing of the stands in disbelief, desperately trying to catch a glimpse of what was happening. A group of adults rush to Yeonjun's aid, their faces etched with concern and panic. It doesn't look good from where you're standing, and a wave of worry washes over you.
“I-I need to go down there!” you speak before you think. Your grip around the railings is so tight that your knuckles are ghost white.
Yena shakes her head, “I know you want to be sure he’s okay, but look how much people are down there already.” She’s right, there were tens of people already surrounding the boy and it wouldn’t be a good idea adding to the chaos.
“Bloody bludgers,” Wooyoung mutters, “Since when did they do that? I’ve never seen bludgers do that.”
Your heart’s pumping, beating against your chest while you try to anticipate any news on Yeonjun. The stands sound like beehives, eyes trained on the situation happening down below.
“Ladies and gentleman,” Soobin’s voice returns through the speakers, “I have been informed that Slytherin's Choi Yeonjun will be okay but will be taken to the infirmary for care. The game will start again shortly.”
“I’m leaving,” you say flatly.
“Wait, Y/N,” Yena stops you, “I don’t think they’ll let you visit him right now, if that’s what you were thinking.”
“I’m going back to the dorms,” you frown, “I can’t keep watching the game if I know Yeonjun’s hurt.”
“I’ll come with you, then.”
And you don’t refuse her offer, mainly because you’re still stunned by what just happened, before bidding the boys goodbye.
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
The following day, you made it your mission to visit Yeonjun in the infirmary. According to Wooyoung, hadn't returned to the dorms overnight, so you expect that he’s still there and resting.
“Hello, sweetheart,” the nurse behind a desk greets you, a smile reaching her tired eyes, “May I help you?”
You glance into the infirmary and notice that only two beds are occupied. They were both indicated with privacy screens, “I’m here to visit somebody. He was brought here last night. Choi Yeonjun.”
She nods and you watch her gentle smile slowly transform into a knowing one, “He’s in the occupied bed to your right. I believe he’s still asleep, but you can wait for him to wake up if you’d like.”
You thank her and quietly make your way to Yeonjun’s makeshift room. There's this nagging feeling that visiting him is a bit strange, like you're going out of your way for a guy you're not supposed to be crushing on. But then you remember that Yeonjun is also your friend. Friends check up on each other when they're down, right? So, here you are, paying him a visit like a good pal.
You peek around the screen and see that Yeonjun was, in fact, asleep. Your eyes catch sight of a broken left arm and some bandages that were wrapped around his other arm and his head. He was laying on his side, using his good arm to support his head.
You couldn’t help but frown at the sight of an injured Yeonjun, sitting down at a chair already pushed up near the bed.
“Damn, bludgers,” you mutter, scanning over his injuries one more time. They weren’t the worst injuries, but they were still injuries that needed to be treated.
Treated.
You gasp quietly, almost forgetting what you had brought with you. Digging into your pocket, you fish out a container of ointment that you and your grandma had managed to concoct a few weeks before the year had started. It was the ointment with the dittany. The one you remember telling Yeonjun about.
You swear by your grandma’s recipe.
Leaning back in your chair, you run your thumb over the lid of the container, deep in thought. The room is filled with an overwhelming silence, and Yena's voice echoes in your mind, urging you to confess your feelings to Yeonjun and make him feel better. However, you decide to prioritize his well-being for now, putting your confession on hold and focusing on ensuring that Yeonjun is okay.
Then you can practically hear Changbin gagging from how awfully ‘mushy-gushy’ the decision was.
Air shoots out of your nose when you huff out a laugh.
With a sigh, you shift your focus back to the injured boy who was still sound asleep.
At least who you thought was sound asleep.
As you turn your attention back to Yeonjun, you catch him staring right at you, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. It's almost as if he had been waiting to get caught in the act.
“Yeonjun!?” You exclaim, nearly jumping out of your seat, “Why are you just sitting there and staring at me!?” The nurse shushes you, and you quickly quiet down, collecting yourself. You’re tempted to hit his shoulder, but you remember that he’s injured, “How long have you been awake for?”
Yeonjun doesn't bother answering your question; instead, he leans in, locking eyes with you. The look he gives you is soft, and his lips form a gentle smile. You feel your cheeks heat up, your chest doing the same as you shrink back into your chair.
“What?”
“You like me.”
You freeze and begin to panic. How were you supposed to react to that? You were supposed to be having a conversation about how he was feeling… if he has a concussion… you were supposed to be giving him the dittany ointment you brought with you… but not this.
“N-no I don’t!” you try your best to keep composure, gulping a growing lump in your throat.
“Why else would you be here to visit me?” Yeonjun’s nose scrunches, “You care about me.” His head tilts to the side, still training his eyes on you, “I think it was about time.”
At this point, your heart’s running a mile a minute and the room’s growing hot. What were you supposed to do? You were still in the position to deny everything. That, no, you weren’t here because you liked him. You could say you did care about him but as a friend. It worked. Besides, you were here strictly to make sure he was well. Not to confess.
But then again, this was practically an opportunity that was beckoning for you to go for it and take the chance. Yeonjun was making it easy for you. So, why not?
"And what if I do like you?" You narrow your eyes at him, a playful smile forming on your lips. "Did you forget that you like me, too?"
“Wait, what?” Yeonjun’s eyes widen and his jaw drops to his chest, “You’re not joking right?”
“Joking about what?”
“A-about you liking me,” he stammers. Yeonjun shuffles in his bed, trying his best to sit up, “I-I was just joking about you liking me… I didn’t think that… you’d actually agree to it.”
“Why would I joke about that?” you frown.
“I-I don’t know,” Yeonjun begins to play with the edge of his blanket. He’s a stuttering mess and he can’t seem to muster up the confidence he’s always had around you. It was an odd feeling. He’s never been on this end before, “You’re really… not joking?”
“I would never joke about that,” you shake your head.
“A-are you sure you’re not joking,” Yeonjun repeats, “Like really?” He hopes that he’s not visibly sweating through his bandages and that you can’t hear the hint of nervousness in the tone of his voice. There was even a part of him that thinks that he’s just woken up in a dream and in reality, he’s still passed out on the infirmary bed and recovering from his fall.
What… What if he’s not actually alive right now and his brain is shamelessly walking through his dreams?
Nope. Too much.
He knows that this was real life solely because he could still feel a mix of both stinging and dull pain in his broken arm.
“Choi Yeonjun, I really am not joking!” you groan, frustration evident in your voice. "Do I need to provide you with evidence? Because I can't even pinpoint when I started liking you! It just... happened, okay?"
Yeonjun takes a moment to gather his thoughts, his expression shifting. He realizes you're not joking. Like, really not joking.
You really do like him back.
At the realization, a surge of confidence washes over him and that playful smile that you’ve grown familiar with appears on Yeonjun’s lips.
"You can... prove it to me with a kiss," he suggests, his voice tinged with anticipation. Yeonjun can’t quite read your expression, so he quickly follows up his cheeky proposal with, “Only if you’re okay with it! But I’m just… saying that I’m okay with it.”
Yeonjun's gaze drops, and he focuses on the imprint of his toes in the blanket as he waits for your reply. He hears you shift in your chair and soon he feels a looming presence right by his cheek. He feels a rush of warmth from your breath, causing a shiver to run down his spine and momentarily freezing him in place.
With a mix of nerves and excitement, Yeonjun squeezes his eyes shut, his heart pounding in his chest. He's not entirely sure what to expect, but the hopeful part of him believes that you might be leaning in for that suggested kiss. Just as he thinks you might lean in for the kiss, he feels a gentle peck on his cheek.
You pull back, a mischievous grin spreading across your face. "There," you tease.
Yeonjun's cheeks flush a tint of red, “T-There?”
“Was that not enough to prove it?”
He pouts, “I was… expecting it to be…” Yeonjun gestures to his lips in the cutest way possible. He appeared to be genuinely confused, brows furrowing, “To be…” He’s too embarrassed to say it out loud.
You playfully roll your eyes and lean in once again, aiming for a gentle peck on the corner of Yeonjun's lips. But Yeonjun's curiosity drives him to turn his head toward you, causing your lips to meet.
The contact of his chapped lips on yours catches you off guard, sending what felt like jolts of electricity through your body. For a moment, you consider pulling away, afraid that you've made a mistake, but the gentle hold of Yeonjun's arm around your forearm anchors you in place, easing your nerves. It was like his own way of saying it was okay if you were okay with it too, allowing you both to melt into the kiss.
There’s a brief second that you both forget that you’re sitting in the infirmary of the castle, the world around you fading into the background. All you could hear is the muffled sound of your heart knocking against your chest, and you’re hoping and praying that Yeonjun doesn’t hear it.
Just as Yeonjun brings himself to deepen the kiss, you’re both interrupted by the voice of a certain Gryffindor, “This is exactly what I was afraid of!”
You turn to find Changbin with a bouquet of flowers (which he had obviously picked from the castle grounds’ bushes) and a rather appalled expression on his face. He lets out an exasperated groan before turning away, muttering under his breath as he walks off. His voice fades off into the distance, “I’ll be back later… won’t be mushy-gushy my arse… I wonder if there’s a spell that’s equivalent to bleaching my eyes…”
You and Yeonjun exchange a glance and burst into fits of laughter, unable to contain the hilarity of the situation. Of all people, it just had to be Changbin who walked in at that moment.
As the laughter subsides, you both catch your breath, still wearing wide smiles on your faces. You and Yeonjun settle back into the moment. The interruption may have momentarily disrupted the moment, but it also added a touch of light-heartedness to the intensity of your feelings.
“So…” You say, “Did I prove it to you?”
Yeonjun's warm gaze meets yours, his voice filled with certainty, "That was more than enough to prove it."

dating an nct 127 member and being besties with another
pairing: nct 127 member bsf x reader x nct 127 member bf
type: scenario
warnings: none really
a/n: so each one is the bestie and it says who the partner is. if that makes sense lol
masterlist | info
—————————
Tumblr media
taeyong- besties with doyoung’s partner
so you actually did a little work with nct on a title track. you wrote and produced the demo and worked really closely with taeyong and became besties in the process. you’re more freelance, so your time working with 127 was short but taeyong still wanted to work with you on different projects so he kept you around some. this is also how you met doyoung. you are quite literally the polar opposite of doyoung and your differences made him fall for you SO hard but it took him a little while to actually ask you out. ty was the one encouraging him the whole way but it took soooo much effort for him to not tell you. he was there and helped arrange for you to be at the studio for doyoung to ask you out. the second doyoung left after asking you, the both of you cheered and screamed together. he’s been your and doyoung’s biggest supporter and defender ever since.
Tumblr media
taeil- besties with jungwoo’s partner
from the moment he met you he thought you were adorable. tiny and sweet, like a little sibling. he has a little sister and he’s the oldest in nct so the brotherly protective role came pretty naturally with him when it came to you. he NEVER let’s you pay when y’all are out and he just has a way of looking out for you when jungwoo isn’t able to. you and taeil also have basically the same music taste so you’re always sending each other new music you find. jungwoo thought it was very sweet the way his hyung took you under his wing and grateful to have someone look after you like an older sibling.
Tumblr media
johnny- besties with haechan’s partner
it was just to be expected. donghyuk is pretty much johnny’s son so he had to get to know his new child. at first it started out as a way to protect donghyuk, getting to know you just to make sure he wouldn’t get hurt but eventually you two became very close. as time went on, johnny worried less about donghyuk getting hurt and more about you. donghyuk is actually really thankful to have someone around who might be able to protect you better than he can especially when it comes to the more questionable fans of nct. you had a few moments where he was definitely glad to have johnny around. both of your boys just want you safe. your boyfriend loved that you and johnny were so close… until he became the butt of the joke. all with love though.
Tumblr media
yuta- besties with mark’s partner
you’re literally the perfect mirror of mark, like a little ray of sunshine. all of the endearing qualities mark has like being clumsy, goofy, and sweet, you have and yuta immediately took to you. he’s just as affectionate with you as he is with mark (in a respectful way of course). sometimes he’ll even push mark away when he tries to love on either of you. yuta treats you like his precious little angel and he will fight anyone that hurts you, including and especially mark. he will sometimes call you up on his off days when mark has to work for dream or producing and make sure you’re well fed and not bored. he’ll also just facetime you in general, especially when the boys are on tour. it’s really funny because he never tells mark he’s calling you and mark just walks in and you’re on yuta’s phone. “wait… is that y/n??” “yes, but they’re mine right now. you can call them later.” the thing that warmed yuta’s heart the most is when you started learning japanese just to have something else in common with him… also to shit talk about mark a little. despite being teased so much, mark is actually so happy that you and yuta are close. he’s glad to have him care for you so well and honestly him not liking you would have been a bit of a dealbreaker.
Tumblr media
doyoung- bestie’s with taeil’s partner
funny story… doyoung was actually your bias. the look on everyone’s faces when he said this at your first meeting the boys was priceless—especially doyoung’s face. after the initial shock wore off, doyoung was totally endeared by your admiration and wanted to get to know you for who you were and because you were dating his group mate. his expectations were low, not thinking you would be close but he hoped to have pleasant interactions with you. come to find out, the reason you were always so drawn to him as a fan was because you were so much alike in a lot of ways. taeil actually found it kind of funny and preferred that you weren’t all over him just because of his role in nct. he was glad that you found a friend within the group of boys he’s known for so long and he feels like doyoung is one of the better choices among them.
Tumblr media
jaehyun- besties with johnny’s partner
no one was surprised when johnny started dating a foreigner and he was incredible when you made the move to korea but the new environment had you pretty anxious when it came to making friends. it didn’t help that you were still learning the language too. jaehyun was the first to step up and offer to help you and be a conversation partner. of course, johnny was top choice but it was nice to have someone else. your boyfriend is incredibly confident in himself and never once was threatened by your friendship because he trusts you both so well. at the end of the day, he knows that you’re with him because you love him and not his best friend. when teaching helping you study korean, jaehyun had so much patience with you and never made you feel bad when you messed up your pronunciation or phrasing. this pair is really the best to go out with because they’re so goofy and comfortable with each other and you fit in so well. the three of you are the perfect trio.
Tumblr media
jungwoo- bestie’s with jaehyun’s partner
you and jungwoo were pretty similar and close in age so when jaehyun introduced you to the group you clicked immediately. the two of you started hanging out more often and he would invite you to hang out at practices which threw jaehyun off when you’d walk in and he didn’t invite you. the group called you “the twins” because you were practically the same person and almost always together. jaehyun had to catch himself at first because even though he wasn’t normally the jealous type, he couldn’t help but see how well you got along. he was just so scared of losing you but honestly you and jungwoo laughed when he brought the notion up to you and were almost like school kids saying it was “gross”. truly, you never thought of each other in that way. from then on, jaehyun was happy that his little nct family loved you almost as much as he did.
Tumblr media
mark- besties with taeyong’s partner
mark actually introduced the two of you. you had known mark for years and one day when you were with mark at his studio, taeyong walked in. he was so sweet and shy but very kind to you, it melted your heart. after that you would do all you could to get a chance to see him again. for months, you silently held on to your crush and thankfully mark is pretty obvious despite knowing you so well. it came as quite the shock to mark when you told him but he made it his mission to find out if he liked you too and set you up. years later mark was telling everyone the story during his best man speech.
Tumblr media
haechan- besties with yuta’s partner
honestly, this shocked everyone a little bit. we all know how donghyuk tries so hard to receive yuta’s love, when he started dating you, donghyuk didn’t really try as hard with you. he was polite and kind but kept a distance but you’re the one that found him to be so adorable that he couldn’t help but have hearts in his eyes. you’re kind of like an older sibling with him. you care for him, take him out to eat, you listen and help him with his problems. donghyuk being your bestie meant that he’s over at your apartment A LOT which yuta doesn’t like very much but it’s the best time to poke fun at him. also whenever you come to see yuta at work, he spots you immediately and rushes over to hug you. sometimes even before yuta can get to you (which he HATES). most of the time when you’re with the boys, yuta has to fight him off you to give affection but it’s cute that they fight over you.

Tumblr media
You let out a sigh while placing the last plate on the rack, feigning exhaustion as you turned to look at your boyfriend, who is still carefully rinsing the remnants of soap off the sink. Even in the semi darkness that engulfs you two, you can distinguish his features enough to feel butterflies fly around your stomach at how beautiful he is.
“What?” Eunwoo asks, drying his hands on a raggedy pink towel, and squinting to see you. The candles around the kitchen are barely enough, but with the power out due the storm outside, you don’t have much of a choice.
“Nothing,” you reply, smiling softly at him. It’s been a very long day, but despite whatever happens through it, good or bad, your favorite thing is coming home to him. “I’m just tired.”
Eunwoo takes a deep breath, stretching his arms above his head and lifting his shirt in the process. “Me too, baby.”
You guess it’s around 10 pm, both your phones died before you even started eating dinner and you don’t want to strain your sight enough to look at the clock hanging from the opposite wall. You don’t really want to go to bed, but there isn’t much else you can do with the power out and your electronic devices dead, plus the lack of more candles. You told Eunwoo about a hundred times that you needed to buy more for emergencies like this, yet both of you forgot about it every time you went grocery shopping.
Eunwoo’s shadow covers the orange glow on your face as he stands in front of you, offering his hand.
You stare at him, questioning.
“I don’t want to go upstairs yet,” he says with a small shrug, one that turns into a little jump after a lightning strike illuminates his face silver.
“And you want to dance?” you chuckle with an eyeroll, but still you take his hand and let him press you against his body.
“It’s like that song you always listen to, the one about dancing in the refrigerator light.”
“You know that’s a break up song, right?”
Eunwoo lifts a shoulder again, one hand against your lower back while the other squeezes your fingers. “Good thing we’re never breaking up.”
You smile at him before he makes you turn, which you follow awkwardly until you’re back in place with your hand on his chest. “It seems a lot easier in the movies,”
“You just need to relax,” he whispers, swaying softly to the imaginary music.
You try your best to do as he says, mostly letting him take the lead as he spins you and sways you to whatever is playing in his head. The light breeze from your movements making the light dance around the room, casting shadows on your faces.
It isn’t long until you’re laughing, your moves getting more and more confident until you don’t know if Eunwoo is still leading you or it’s the other way around. But you’re having fun, you feel happiness bubble inside you, and love too, you love him so much you have no idea how you hold it inside you most of the time.
Your laughter gets drowned by his lips soon enough, you’ve stopped twirling and turning, and are standing in the middle of the kitchen, your fingers threading through Eunwoo’s hair while he squeezes your hips.
“I love you,” he whispers softly, his lips still against yours. “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too.” you say before your mouths melt in another kiss.
This is perfect. And you know you think everything is perfect when he’s around way too often for it to be true, but it is true. Things just seem to fall into place when it comes to Eunwoo and you, even the most simple ones.
This is what it feels like to have found your soulmate.

Falling (Jake Shim) 💌
Tumblr media
Prompt: You fell first, but he fell harder. ₊˙♡﹗˚ ༘
Genre: Fluff
AU: F2L!au, highschool!au
Warning(s): N/A.
Synopsis: Jake was committed to finishing school before finding love, except you got in the way, giving Jake an extra task to add to his daily to-do list.
Note: I wrote this on my flight because I was bored, but now I couldn’t even think of anything more to continue it. Anyways, enjoy!
Tumblr media
Jake liked to think that his studies and family were the most important things to him. Nothing could bend his list of priorities, like getting into his dream architecture school with a full-ride scholarship, save for his dog Layla who constantly tramples all over his homework and delays his tasks.
That was until you waltzed into his life.
A lot of girls liked Jake, and he knew that very well, but he simply had no time for a relationship. His school activities were already a considerable load, plus he was on the basketball team and still had to tutor kids after school or volunteer at the local animal shelter. In short, Jake was a busy person.
You, you were different. Some girls would come off rather strong when offering Jake their affection, some rather shy and reserved, choosing to admire from afar. You came off just the right amount, which intrigued Jake.
Rather than straight up confessing to the boy, you just happened to worm your way into his friend group because you just so happened to be best friends with none other than Sunoo.
Jake would notice your friendly advances, noting your attraction towards him with you blushing after the boy sends you a smile. Sometimes he’d even see you admire him during the boring points of class, but your actions only made him even more curious.
His attraction for you started small, denying his feelings and thinking of you as just a friend because that’s what you were, right? You just happened to get along with his best friends, treating him as one of them and being subtle with your attraction. That was what made Jake want to know more.
You, on the other hand, did not know that you were the right amount of subtle, but instead thought you were being quite obvious. Until the day you told Sunoo and Jungwon, leading to the two boys gasping in unison.
“What the hell? You like Jake? I didn’t even notice,” Sunoo exclaims, shaking you by the shoulders. You shrug his hands off and hide your blushing features, you didn’t mean to like Jake, your feelings developed without you even realizing it.
You saw Jake the day you were assigned to the same class, and you only stared, thinking he was pretty and you thought that was the end of it.
It wasn’t.
When he opened his mouth to introduce yourself, or when he even spoke in general, you found your heart racing. You only ever had vague memories of Jake, he used to be a scrawny and awkward kid that played the violin, so who was this broader and deeper-voiced version of the awkward Jaeyun that you used to know?
Your eyes always found their way toward his direction whenever you got bored, your gaze studying every feature on his face. The curve of his nose, his high cheekbones, the stupidly handsome smirk that always rests on his face. He was perfect.
You simply thought you had no chance with him, seeing as Jake was part of the popular crowd and seeing the myriad of rejected girls that would run to the bathroom after receiving a failed confession. It scared you to no end, but that was before you had become friends with Kim Sunoo.
Sunoo was part of Jake’s circle, not in the basketball team but rather as the team’s manager. The boy thought you were the only interesting person in his English class and decided to adopt you as his best friend from then on.
After being friends with Sunoo for a while, he had also done you a huge favor by introducing you to the other people in the popular circle, which was how you had even gotten close enough to Jake, to begin with. Otherwise, you would’ve never been able to even be in Jake’s line of vision at all.
You started off with friendly advances, trying to get everyone used to your presence, but upon seeing Jake’s stand-off attitude towards relationships being discussed, you had put your ministrations to rest. If he wasn’t ready, you would respect that, but Jake only came off even more needy for your attention once he noticed your change in attitude.
It started small. The day after you told Sunoo and Jungwon you liked him, he had offered to walk home with you, using the excuse of everyone else being closer to you and wanting some time alone with you as well.
This came off as normal to everyone since Jake was one of the more welcoming members of the group, so getting more one on one time was important to him.
The walk home was a comfortable and fun change, you usually had your headphones in on your walk home but having Jake around to talk to was great. He made sure his questions hadn’t crossed any boundaries and was always attentive to what you had to say, which made you fall for him even harder.
What you didn’t know was that Jake was falling for you too, but deeper than he’d like to admit. Your smile was radiant, your laugh sounded so genuine and comforting, and nothing was ever awkward or boring with you.
From then on, Jake made it a point to spend as much time with you as he could. He even made sure he got a full-ride scholarship to his dream school before finally focusing on you.
“Y/n, do you wanna study for the test with me and Sunghoon? Heeseung and Jay totally blew us off and you’re the only other person who would actually be willing to genuinely get anything done,” Jake asked you.
Sunghoon, who was behind Jake, hit him in the back of the neck, causing him to wince. You laugh at their antics and agree to go study with them until Sunghoon got bored and left the two of you. Now it was just you and Jake in the library, finally reviewing your notes for the last time.
“Hey, do you wanna stop by the convenience store by your house later? My treat, since you stayed with me and actually finished everything” Jake smiles.
“I think I’d like that actually,” you felt butterflies in your stomach. Your feelings that you had put off were starting to come back, and you just had an itching feeling that your relationship with Jake was starting to take off from just being friends to something more.

han jisung. genre: fluff i guess? + warning: none
Tumblr media
jisung was not one to go out very often, especially on friday nights. he much prefered to stay home with you and play board games or watch movies until you fell asleep after pretending you were not even starting to feel tired. fridays were too crowded anyway. everyone was off from work or school for two days and had to make the most out of their first night of freedom. if jisung could avoid going out, he would.
however, minho had insisted.
"no you have to come. the table is already reserved anyway. everyone is coming and so will you" had he half screamed over the phone as jisung pouted and looked over to you on the other side of the couch.
so, much to his own disappointment, jisung was getting ready when you got back home from work. the pile of clothes scattered around your shared bedroom was enough proof. he never knew what to wear, always scared of being too dressed up or too casual.
he had heard you come home and jisung got out of the bathroom to greet you. he had picked a simple button down and black pants. "safe choice. great choice. incredible even." you thought as he kissed your temple and asked how your day went.
while you told him about the client you had had over the phone at exactly 5:01PM despite being scheduled until 5:00, jisung walked to the vanity placed right in front of the bed. he stared at his reflection and straightened his appearance. gently, his fingers brushed his jaw. the pad of his thumb rubbed his bottom lip and he tipped his head to the side. you couldn't tear your eyes away from him, stumbling over your words.
he looked way too good. jisung played with his hair, made sure the way his bangs were parted was flattering ( and, by god, was it flattering ) and grabbed his perfume before spraying some over his wrist. he rubbed the perfume on his other wrist and then put some on his neck.
you had enough. in one swift movement, you dropped all of your stuff on the bed before walking over to him. jisung jumped a little when your reflection suddenly appeared next to his. the moment he turned his face towards yours, you grabbed it with both hands and crashed your lips right against his.
jisung tried to keep a moan of surprise in his throat but could not help letting it out as he kissed you back. his hands dropped to your waist and he brought you impossibly closer to his chest.
you kissed him silly. after a short while, you had to part to breathe and jisung stared at you in both a daze and disbelief. his hair was all over the place and the first buttons of his shirt suddenly undone. interesting, you did not remember doing that.
you cleared your throat and avoided his gaze as you fastened the buttons and let jisung come back from his high.
"you look good." you said "have fun tonight."
again, jisung was convinced he would have had more fun at home.

that one tiktok alone killed my writer's block.

[ 9:34 AM ]
It wasn’t only the sheets that made you sleep in heaven, but also, the way Seonghwa woke you up would make the two of you end up in hell. Sin was worth it.
If only it wasn’t for that wet dream that got you replaying Seonghwa’s moans throughout your sleep, you wouldn’t have been squirming around in bed with every second of every minute making you dripping wet.
“Is my baby awake?” Seonghwa smirked against your ear, entertained by your soft moans against the pillow.
“Mhmm,” you were half awake by this point, but not a single devilish thought left your mind. It was one of those rare occurrences where you could remember a dream exactly.
And by exact, you were going to bring it to life. Only Seonghwa could make your dreams come true.
You couldn’t wait for him to slut you out.
“Want me to wake you up?” Seonghwa’s hands massaged your naked body ever so gently but still rough at the same time. It was what you loved about him. So gentle, yet so rough.
“Please…” you groaned, sliding a leg up as you continued laying on your stomach. It was this position that just gets Seonghwa moaning like crazy. And that was what you wanted. There was no better way to wake up from a good night’s sleep.
“Oh, you make me so goddamn fucking hard,” he groaned.
It didn’t take long for your clit to be stimulated with his fingers, he was always so good with them. He knew how to exactly use them so well. With that, your juices were already pooling out of your panties.
A small smirk spread across your face. You already knew how this was going to end.
Round after round. A productive morning with loads of cardio.

Flower Knows (Choi Beomgyu)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Huh, this is not what I expected when I said I would see you around, but it’s fancy seeing you here”
Genre: Fluff
Pairing: Beomgyu x afab!reader
AU: Flower Shop!au, University!au
Warning(s): None
Synopsis: A cute guy had recently moved into one of the apartments above the flower shop you work at, but who would’ve thought that he was the missing puzzle piece in your seemingly picture-perfect life?
Note(s): This definitely took way longer than I wanted but it was all worth it in the end. I really liked the concept of this fic and hope you guys like it too! I missed writing and hopefully, I can be more consistent in making fics again. I'm sorry for being gone for so long due to writer’s block and other irl responsibilities. ;;
Tumblr media
Your life hadn’t always been all that interesting if you were honest, but as someone who didn’t want it to be as mundane and boring, you tried your best to romanticize it to the best of your ability. From your cozy studio apartment that had a beautiful city view, courtesy of saving up like crazy and with the help of your parents, to your easy-going study habits that helped you get by in school.
Now adding to that list, you also worked at a small flower shop beside your quaint and cozy apartment building. Life couldn’t have been any better for someone like you, the kind of person who appreciates the little things.
“How do you do it?” You hear from behind you. You were too busy spacing out, head tilted and rested against your hand, that you had jumped slightly when one of your coworkers and friends, Kazuha, spoke to you while arranging a bouquet of white roses. The day went pretty slow considering it was a normal Tuesday evening and it started to get dark, so you only had a few customers coming in now and then periodically. Other than that, the shop had been empty for most of the day, the two of you casually lazing around.
“What do you mean?” You ask, confused as to what she is implying. You were slow when it came to these things, at least that’s what you think.
“Your life is so ideal and romanticized, I’m seriously wondering how you do it. I feel like you also have this super secret relationship where you have a sweet and smart boyfriend who’s good at communication. He can also cook and dress well” she laughs.
You chuckle and shake your head in response, you’d doubt you would even find a partner like that in your, almost, picture-perfect life. Everything else you could romanticize, but a relationship? That was out of the question for you. You didn’t believe in it, you thought it just wasn’t meant to be for you and are content with being single.
“I wish Zuha, it’s so hard to find a decent guy these days. I think that’s the only thing I can’t achieve when I’ve been rejected countless times” you laugh awkwardly, trying to brush it off. Kazuha places the bouquet on the counter and goes to grab a ribbon and some newspapers before turning towards you sharply, a confused look on her face.
“Are you serious right now? I’ll go beat them up and conjure up the perfect guy who can love and appreciate you, not like it’ll be hard for you to do that by yourself since you’re already everything anyone could ever want. People’s standards are seriously lower than hell if they’ve rejected someone like you” she huffs while wrapping the flowers neatly. Your face contorts which causes her to mirror your expression.
As the two of you were laughing and bickering amongst yourselves in the shop, you heard the bell ring, indicating that someone had come into the store. Kazuha’s back was leaning against the counter, so you had noticed the customer before she did, and boy was the wind knocked out of you upon seeing his face. Your world stopped short, he looked to be around your age with dark hair and sharp facial features.
“Hi, welcome to La Fleurette! How can we help you today?” You slap on your biggest customer service smile with your voice going up an octave, this causes Kazuha to whip around and also see the new customer and greet him with an awkward quirk on her lips.
“Hello uh— I just moved into a new apartment in this building and I was wondering if you could arrange a small housewarming bouquet? My mother suggested I needed one” he admits shyly. You nod as you start to get to work, gathering a few lilies, forget-me-nots, and white Transvaal daisies to arrange for him.
“These flowers should be a good combination, the white is very easy on the eyes and it gives off a light and pure vibe to make the house a little brighter” You whip up the bouquet quickly and hand it to him before he hands you the money.
“Thank you so much, I’ll see you around then—“ he squinted at your handwritten name tag. “Y/n, pretty name, and pretty handwriting, I’m Beomgyu. I hope to see you more, along with your friend over here” Kazuha waves awkwardly and you reply with a short smile, a bit flustered at his statement.
“Thank you, I’ll see you around as well then Beomgyu, it was lovely meeting you. Take it easy once you settle in” you say sweetly. Beomgyu then walks out of the shop before you see your friend sporting a mischievous grin.
“What? We always entertain customers nicely, you know that” you whine, but she wouldn’t let up at all. Your friend had finally found some sort of leverage against you, and she wasn’t going to let it go to waste.
“Sure we do customer service all the time, but you two seem like you would have a little something going on” Kazuha teases, nudging you with her elbow.
You groan and walk away from her, he is just a guy that came into the store and happened to compliment you, there was no chance of any feelings blooming from a conversation as small as that.
“Zuha you’re being ridiculous, he is cute but it was nothing other than me being nice and probably him doing the same as well” You retort, and go back to cleaning up.
It was almost time to close up the shop, and you always closed fairly early since it was owned by a sweet older woman whom you and your other four co-workers considered a mother.
"Sure Y/n, keep telling yourself that!" Kazuha laughs from the back, to which you could only sigh in reply. Beomgyu was a customer, it was all customer service, though you also couldn't deny that he wasn’t all that bad looking. It was nice seeing a new face when everyone along your street knew each other.
After finalizing and checking up on everything being in its rightful place, and moving the outside display into the shop, you finally lock up and bid your friend goodbye. Ready for another night full of studying and hopefully achieving your dream as an author, all cooped up in a much better studio apartment, and in a much bigger city.
You walk over to the building just beside the shop and head into the café you frequented and basically became a regular at. You even knew the owner, who was a senior photography major at your university. His name was Kim Seungmin, and the two of you formed a small friendship over the number of times he's seen you at his establishment.
The bell chimes, signaling your arrival and you notice a familiar mop of brown hair from behind the counter making drinks and moving around busily. Seungmin was almost always here working with his friends Jeongin, who was working at the register, and Hyunjin, who was doing his homework in the corner by the looks of it. The café was quite empty, save for four other people including you, so you liked the peacefulness of it all.
“Seungmin! Jeongin!” You smile as you walk towards the register. You were quite happy to see your friends today after a boring day at work, and seeing them immediately brought your mood up quite instantly.
“Y/n! So happy to see you today. The usual? Since you’ve tried everything on the menu at this point” Jeongin chuckles. You nod and roll your eyes jokingly, you’ve tried everything throughout the countless evenings you studied or just chilled there, and it was safe to say you had your favorites and a love-hate relationship with some of the menu items.
“You know me so well innie, and yes! You can just take it where Hyunjin is, I’m gonna go sit with him” you grin, handing over your card to pay. Hearing a huff, you looked in the direction it came from and saw a pouty Seungmin, to which you gave a confused expression back.
“You always pay even though I tell you every time that it’s on the house for my friends, can you at least not do it this once?” Seungmin says. You stifle a laugh and take back your card while giving Jeongin a sheepish smile, but the male only replies with his signature dimpled one.
“Fine, you’re just lucky that I’m feeling tired today to argue” Seungmin does a little victory dance and you chuckle at your friend’s antics. He was always the sweetest thing, so you decided to give in to him at least this once. After all, you deserve a break from working nonstop since the weekend.
You then move over to sit with Hyunjin, who is already looking at you with a grin. It had been quite a while since he’d seen you, so he looked pretty excited upon noticing you walk toward him. The shit-eating grin on his handsome face always meant he had lots of things to talk about.
“Fancy seeing you here Lee Y/n, how has work been in the flower shop?” Hyunjin immediately speaks up the moment you sit on the chair in front of him.
“Can you not address me like that? Hyunjin, we've been friends for four years stupid, and about the flower shop, work has been pretty slow since it is just that” You sigh for the umpteenth time that day, taking out your iPad from your bag and getting ready to study.
“Any new gossip you have?” The male in front of you chuckles. You suck up your pride and decide to tell him about Beomgyu, who had just moved into the same building where the flower shop was situated.
“You better not tell a single soul understand? Especially not Kazuha considering that big mouth of yours” you say in a hushed tone. Hyunjin makes a zipping gesture on his lips and you feel a wave of relief wash over you, he’d never rat you out under any circumstances that’s for sure.
“A new guy moved into one of the apartments in the building next door, he came into the flower shop asking for a bouquet. He’s really cute, but I’m too shy to do anything” you say admittedly, but then grow out of your bashful demeanor after seeing your friend holding in a smile and a laugh.
Truth be told, you were never one to be in love or even have a crush because of how busy your life is, so after hearing about a boy from your own mouth, Hyunjin couldn’t believe it one bit.
“This guy really did a number on you, because this is one of the first times I’ve ever heard of a boy from you. Except for that time you had a crush on Seung–” you hiss at Hyunjin and throw him a flustered expression. Seungmin was your friend, though you couldn’t deny that you definitely did have a tiny crush on him during the early stages of your friendship.
“That’s different! I was rejected, you know that” you whisper to him. Your stupid crush truly was the foundation of your friendship to begin with, but you backed off after a year knowing you wouldn’t have a chance with him anyway and ended up getting rejected after he found out through rumors. That’s where it led you to where you are today, a cafe with three of your idiot friends, one of them being a crush that you were over with.
“Tell me about your interaction with this boy. I want to read into what you two might become” Hyunjin snorts, but you know he only wanted to know more about what happened so you tell him. After all, what did you have to lose? It was just a guy you found cute and met for the first time, he only knew your name after all.
“Well, his name is Beomgyu. I don’t even know, to be honest, the interaction was so short but he called my name pretty and said he’d see me around” Hyunjin’s ears perk up at the name and you feel your stomach drop. He beckons Jeongin over as he’s coming in with your order, which indicates that your friend probably knew something about the boy.
Jeongin looks at Hyunjin questionably as he sets your iced caramel macchiato and turkey sandwich on the table, before tucking the tray under his arm, waiting for what the older had to say. Hyunjin clears his throat awkwardly and grins at Jeongin.
“You don’t happen to be friends with a Beomgyu, who just moved into the city, do you? Your eyes widen in horror as Jeongin nods slowly at Hyunjin’s question.
You were in deep shit, not only were you already talking about a guy you just met, your friends just so happened to know him coincidentally as well.
“Yeah? Why? Did Y/n run into him or something, if I’m not wrong I do know he just moved in next door” You sink into your seat, wanting to crawl into a hole on the spot. There was no escaping the shackles of teasing from your friends as you had always avoided.
“Well, he ran into Y/n today and apparently flirted with her. So what do you have to say about this?” Hyunjin grins like a Cheshire cat, enjoying this entire ordeal way more than you would have liked.
Jeongin turns to you and adjusts his glasses on the bridge of his nose before laughing softly. “Beomgyu isn’t flirty by the way, so you’re one of the first Y/n” he teases, but you make a swatting motion as you all hear Seungmin call for him in the background.
“I have to go back to the counter but take that as you like. Have fun, he’s in the same major as you too” Jeongin says with a teasing tone and walks behind the counter, meeting up with a pouty Seungmin, who directs him to the line of customers up front that were ready to order.
You turn to Hyunjin again and take a sip of your macchiato, before also pouting at him. “Well, I guess the promise went down the drain. Remind me to never ever tell you any of my secrets ever again” You huff and look down at your notes, sulking and fiddling with your stylus.
“I’m sorry Y/n, I thought it would’ve been the perfect opportunity since Jeongin is practically his best bud. It’s honestly funny once you see them together” Hyujin leans back and laughs softly, probably recalling a memory that they had shared. You could only give him a tired smile in response and wave him off, you knew he didn't mean any harm.
After an hour had gone by, you decided to take your leave, knowing you still had to feed your cat and get back on track with the next chapter of your book, not forgetting to buy two extra turkey sandwiches before finally going.
“Bye, guys! I’ll come back tomorrow and stay longer, but you know how grumpy Luna gets” Seungmin gives you his signature puppy smile with a nod, while Jeongin and Hyunjin give you a wave.
You make your way into the building and make a beeline for the elevator, just wanting to take a nice shower and lounge around in a hoodie with your cat, catching up on Reply 1998.
“I wonder if anyone’s moved into the apartment across from mine, it’s been empty ever since Yeonjun moved out weeks ago” you mutter to yourself, before hearing the elevator ding.
Yeonjun had been one of your first friends whom you frequently saw at the flower shop, he always made periodic visits to buy bouquets for his girlfriend whenever her flowers finally wilted and he recently just moved in with her, so you haven’t seen him around anymore.
“Luna! I’m home, get your fat ass over here” You call for your cat the moment you unlock your apartment door and see your little ragdoll strut to the door, meowing as she brushes against your leg. Bending down to pet her, you then pick her up and carry her to the living room.
“You must’ve been so lonely today, am I right? Don’t worry, I’ll go fix up your food because I love you so much, and then we can just chill on the couch watching Reply 1998” Luna meows at your words and you giggle, nuzzling your nose into her fur.
Slipping on a hoodie after your shower, you then go over to the living room to see your cat on the couch already. “I swear you seem like you like watching the show more than me” you mutter, to which Luna can only meow at you again, but before you can even turn the TV on, you notice light coming from the apartment beside yours in your peripheral.
“Seems like someone’s moved into where Yeonjun used to be, do you want to greet our new neighbors Luna?” You pick your cat up and wait by the small window across your neighbor’s apartment.
You see a figure approach and your jaw falls slack, it’s Beomgyu. How sick and twisted did the universe have to be to put your apartments across from each other’s as well? You don't even get another second to react before Beomgyu sees you and gives you a confused look, immediately opening his window as you go to open yours.
“Huh, this is not what I expected when I said I would see you around, but it’s fancy seeing you here” he jokes. You were thankful that you two could speak at a normal volume and not announce your conversation to the entire city, otherwise, this would have been more embarrassing. Just the thought of a noise complaint over a conversation sent a shiver down your spine, you wanted to lay low and be civil with your neighbors.
“I never expected you to live right across from me either. Crazy how the universe works huh?” You joke, and adjust Luna in your lap. Beomgyu chuckles at your words and leaves the window, to which you could only call out his name in confusion as a response. Though, not even a minute later, Beomgyu had a green Amazon parrot perched on his shoulder, leaving you dumbfounded.
The parrot then moves down Beomgyu’s arm and rests on his forearm. “You’re kidding me, you’re telling me you have a parrot in that apartment of yours? Isn’t he loud since those birds tend to repeat everything they hear?” You ask, staring in wonder. This is the first time you have ever seen a parrot owner, and it’s safe to say you never expected it to be your cute neighbor.
“One, his name is Toto, and two, he is not loud, he is perfectly fine and knows what an inside voice is! Isn’t that right Toto?” The bird bounces and you hold back a wide smile, you had to admit, the bird was just as cute as its owner, only adding to the charm of it all.
“Point taken, sorry. Well, you can see I have a pet of my own, her name is Luna and she’s really lazy with an attitude” Luna swats at your hand and you pout, failing to notice the way Beomgyu’s vision is clouded with attraction towards you.
He already found you admirable and pretty, now to top it all off, you lived in the apartment across from his with your adorable cat named Luna? Beomgyu was practically melting on the inside.
“Sorry to cut our conversation short Gyu! I have to finish up my book and put this little girl down to watch Reply 1998, you should definitely come over someday. I don’t have many friends that live nearby, so I’d love to have a visitor” you grin, not sure what came of you.
You barely even invited Hyunjin over or Karina, who was your best friend for that matter, so inviting a boy you barely knew over was definitely out of character.
Beomgyu seems to take in your invitation and smiles yet another charming smile that makes your stomach flip. “I’d love to, and as someone who doesn’t have many friends in this city, I really appreciate it. Thanks Y/n, for your time. You really are more interesting than I thought” he replies cheekily.
“It’s nothing! Think of it as the start of a blooming friendship, and before you point it out, I did not intend the pun” you mentally facepalm, but Beomgyu seemed to be amused at your joke. “You’re genuinely funny, anyways, just open your window if you ever need me. I’ll run over or at least attempt to climb in, but I swear I don’t plan on robbing you” he jokes back.
“Goodnight Beomgyu, see you tomorrow hopefully,” you say softly and shut your window. Though, you would have never expected the boy to actually take your words seriously, because he had quite literally and unexpectedly appeared in the seat beside your usual spot that you always sit in during your last class of the day.
You set your bag down and sit, taking out your laptop and a notebook, Beomgyu still seems to be blissfully unaware of your presence, so you clear your throat in an attempt to get his attention. The boy turns and his jaw falls open, which you could only laugh at.
“Wow, I can’t believe the universe constantly finds a way to insert you into my day. That’s crazy” he laughs, ruffling your hair and then fixing it right after. You wished more of your friends did this, and with Beomgyu, it felt like he’d known you your whole life.
“Do you want to stop by the shop later? I’m the only one working today so I could use some company” you suddenly quip. It was a joke at first, but Beomgyu really did seem to consider it because he gave you a short nod and a grin.
“What?! I was kidding because I’d feel bad, but you’re seriously keeping me company?” You were appalled, Beomgyu actually wanted to stay in the shop with you? That was new since your friends would absolutely dread being in the shop for more than an hour, though you’ve grown accustomed to being surrounded by flowers half the time.
“Well, I have nothing better to do, so why not keep you company? We’re friends now are we not?” Beomgyu chuckles.
The sound had made you flustered and you could only nod as your professor entered the lecture hall, preparing for yet another boring lesson that day, but that would change when you have Beomgyu by your side.
Tumblr media
Once your class had ended, you packed up and walked down the halls with Beomgyu by your side, going over the lesson for the day and groaning at the absurd amount of things that needed to be done. Suddenly, as you were about to leave the campus, you ran into Jeongin and Heeseung, who were shocked to see you beside Beomgyu.
“Beomgyu? Y/n? How do you both know each other?” Heeseung asks. If he were honest, he would’ve expected you and Beomgyu to meet through them, but it seems like you beat them to it because you laughed at his words. “Kind of a long story but we met in the shop and found out we were neighbors not long after” you explained.
“No way? You’re the girl he–” Heeseung is immediately cut off by Beomgyu, who clears his throat and awkwardly peeks at you, almost rushing with his expression.
“I think me and Y/n really need to get going, I still have to accompany her to the flower shop” Beomgyu smiles and leads you away, making you wave at Heeseung and Jeongin without another word.
As you crossed the street where your buildings were located, you wanted to ask Beomgyu what on earth Heeseung was talking about but decided not to pry since you guys didn’t know each other like that yet, so you kept your mouth shut.
“Do you want to get food or anything? I’ll be working until around six or something, so you’re really free to come back since you live in the same building” you say, pushing the door of the flower shop open to greet your other co-worker, Chaewon, who you were taking over for the rest of the day.
“I don’t mind, but you might be bored out of your mind the first three hours, so I’ll keep you company. Contrary to popular belief, I actually like peace and quiet most of the time” Beomgyu explains. You nod and move towards his bag, which he hands to you hesitantly.
“I’m taking these to the back so that you don’t have to carry your bag around, by the way, this is my co-worker and senior, Chaewon. She’s been working here longer than I have and she’s in our circle” Chaewon smiles and waves at Beomgyu before heading back, getting ready to clock out.
“Nice to meet you! Y/n told me about you and how you were friends with Jeongin and Heeseung, welcome to our little group” Beomgyu nods in response and waits for you by the front, sitting on a chair that was just beside the counter. He was happy to find a lot of friends in just a short amount of time, he was worried about not finding anyone at all besides his current friends but was grateful that he met you. It was like fate almost.
You emerge from the back in a simple polo shirt and jeans with an apron thrown over it that had an embroidered ‘La Fleurette’ on the front of it, along with your handwritten name tag that he had grown fond of. “Did you wait long?” You ask, tying your hair in a messy bun just to get it out of the way.
“Not long, don’t worry. By the way, I wanted to ask about that apron of yours, it looks so cute. Did the owner by any chance encourage you guys to embroider that any way you liked?” Beomgyu points at the lettering on your uniform.
You hum at his question, remembering that the owner, Mrs. Kim had taught all the newbies how to embroider and encouraged them to customize their uniform as they liked, as long as it was minimal and not too out there.
“Yup, the owner taught us herself! She teaches all the newbies these things, and she’s the sweetest. You have to meet her some time” you reply softly and start taking out any orders that need to be prepared. Beomgyu watches and his curiosity is piqued, he wanted to help somehow instead of just going on his phone and being a nuisance in the store.
“Hey Y/n, could you teach me how to arrange a bouquet by any chance? I want to help you somehow” he pipes up. You take a glance over towards him and approach him with a few flowers that were on the counter, along with a few brown papers and brown string.
You place the items in front of him and can’t help but beam at his enthusiasm. You liked how he shared some interest in the boring and mundane job that you’ve grown to love after a year of working in the shop near your home and university. It was refreshing and heartwarming to you.
“Here, you can take any flower from here that you think would make a pretty arrangement and then I’ll teach you how to wrap it” Beomgyu inspects the flowers set in the small bins on the table and takes a few baby breath flowers, different colored roses, and some stray stems, before experimenting. Though you wondered how on earth he knew about adding the stems, you decided to ask him after, impressed at his amazing guess.
After five minutes of observing him, you notice how beautiful his arrangement came out and quickly move on to the next step to wrap it, to which Beomgyu eagerly responds to your instructions.
“Ok so put it here in the center, and carefully wrap the paper around it. There, now you can tie it” You show him and Beomgyu wraps the bouquet carefully before finally tying the string around it. You see the little sparkle in his eye as he completes his first bouquet and looks at you for approval. “Pretty for someone who claims they’re doing this for the first time, I like it a lot actually” you admit shyly. Truthfully, you wanted the bouquet for yourself, it was really beautiful and it was from the cutest boy you could’ve ever laid your eyes on.
“Take it then, I mean, your boss wouldn’t mind, right? I could even buy it just so you could have it” Beomgyu says carefully. You blush and shake your head, there was no way you could just let him do this. Ms. Kim really wouldn’t mind, but the thought of Beomgyu giving it to you without a second thought made you flustered. He was really thoughtful because ironically enough, no one had ever given you a flower despite you working at a flower shop.
“Ms. Kim wouldn’t mind, but I’m embarrassed that you’re giving it to me. I mean, don’t you have a special someone or something?” You mutter, hiding your face from Beomgyu’s eyes on you. ‘Why is he so good at holding eye contact? This is making me shy’ you thought.
“Y/n I wouldn’t be here if I had a girlfriend you know, I rather the prettiest girl I know has this bouquet. I mean, you deserve it” he says honestly.
You wondered how on earth Beomgyu was so open with his attraction towards you, but it’s not like you hated it. Maybe it was finally time to pursue a guy you showed interest in.
Three hours had passed since your shift started and Beomgyu still hadn’t left because he seemed to really enjoy your company. Aside from occasional customers coming in and out, you both talked about everything from your families, your dreams, your and even your favorite things. You didn’t want it to end, and the moment felt too good to be true. You and Beomgyu even shared similar views and had a lot in common more than you thought.
“I said I would leave after three hours, but I don’t want to leave just yet, you know. I really like talking to you, and it’s insane how we haven’t exchanged contacts yet, so can I have your number and your socials if ever?” Beomgyu says dreamily.
You giggle at his tone and nod, writing your number down on a piece of paper and your Instagram account before going to the back to get his bag. Three hours passed like a breeze because of Beomgyu, so you had no problem spending the remainder of your shift alone because he also had to get going.
“I told you, I don’t want to leave you!” Beomgyu whines, but you shake your head and scold him. He was stubborn but you found it adorable. “You have to get work done and I can’t keep you here all day you know, you need to keep Toto company too. Tell you what, when I close up let’s go to the cafe next door, deal?” You made a suggestion and Beomgyu seemed to hesitate but took up your offer, pouting at the fact that he had to leave you.
“Fine, but you have to text me right after your shift so I can walk with you” you agree and watch Beomgyu leave with him adorably waving at you, to which you wave back and see his form disappear. Then you sigh and squeal with your heart pounding. You wanted to get to know him for a bit longer though, so you settled for acting friendly and getting to know him as a friend first, you wanted to play it safe when you barely knew him for a day.
Tumblr media
Around a month had gone by since Beomgyu had moved into the city, and he settled into your friend group quite nicely. He got along well with everyone and had no problem talking to any of you, so you had grown even more fond of him the more you hung out with him. It was usually you two anyway, the duo that felt like they were attached at the hip and couldn’t get enough of each other. You studied at the library together, went shopping, and constantly called until late into the morning.
“Are you sure you two aren’t dating yet? Beomgyu posted you on his story last night where you both went to a diner down the block, and that doesn’t seem like something two besties would usually do” Yeji yawns. By now, everyone seemed to see you two as a couple, but you still brainwashed yourself into thinking it was all platonic in a sense. It just wasn’t the same as someone like Hyunjin though, being with Beomgyu was different.
“Best friends in the process of dating I guess, I mean we haven’t exactly established what we want to be, so I’m not sure where to go from here,” you say groggily and without much thought. It was an hour until closing and the day was surprisingly busier than most, so you couldn’t wait to get takeout from Seungmin’s café and lay in your bed with Luna while reading a new book that was recommended by Soobin.
“Well, you need to make the first move or something because you will not get anywhere if you hesitate” Yeji smacks the back of your head playfully, and you frown at her. You didn’t want to make any advances that would possibly make Beomgyu uncomfortable, but you couldn’t find the right time either.
Right at that moment, the bell chimes and you are ready to serve yet another customer, but your heart falls out of your ass when you see it’s the exact person you both talked about just a minute ago.
“Hey Y/n, don’t worry, I’m not here to ask for a bouquet, yet, but I wanted to ask you if you know–” Beomgyu pauses, noticing Yeji sneaking away to give you both a moment alone, before continuing once she’s out of sight.
“As I was saying uh if you wanted to go on a date? Just us, and since we’re both not really the type to go out a lot, I wanted to invite you over” he adds. You look at him, flustered at how open he is, and nod as you take up his invitation.
“I would love to, when?” Beomgyu was now blushing and couldn’t bring himself to look at you, he finally plucked up the courage to ask you out after a month and you were just as eager as he was. His heart couldn’t take it.
“Tomorrow? It’s your day off isn’t it, so yeah I guess tomorrow at like three maybe?” You fiddle with your fingers bashfully and nod, it was perfect and you actually liked the idea of staying in.
“That’s perfect for me, I’ll just come over then,” you say sweetly. Beomgyu looked shy and bid you goodnight before walking back to his apartment.
When he was gone, Yeji burst from the back room and cheered for you. You were finally going on a date with Beomgyu? It felt like a dream, you just couldn’t believe it. After pining after him for a month, you were finally going to be with him.
“Looks like our little miss has a perfect life, finally found the last missing piece of the puzzle, her perfect boyfriend” Yeji teases. You click your tongue and shush her as you both get ready to close up the shop. You just couldn’t believe it, Beomgyu really did feel the same way and you were relieved he made the first move because you both had waited far too long.
In Seungmin’s cafe, you immediately go to tell him and the others the news. Jeongin doesn’t seem to be surprised but Hyunjin was just excited as you were and Seungmin hands you your order with his eyes wide open. “I mean it was bound to happen, he can’t and never will shut up about you Y/n'' the blood rushes to your face at Jeongin’s revelation.
“Hope you have fun and stay safe, you two were cowards but I’m glad he made the first move. Again, Y/n don’t overthink it ok? Just be yourself, I’m feeling a confession coming in so don’t try too hard” You thank Hyunjin and apologize for rushing home, but it was just one of those days and they understood anyway. It was a big thing to see you finally dating someone.
You unlock the door to your apartment and almost scare your cat as you hurriedly place your things down, almost forgetting to leave food for her before showering and doing your entire night routine. Once you were in your pajamas, you proceeded to pick a comfy outfit for you to laze around in. You never thought about what to wear, but you grab a hoodie Beomgyu left and a pair of pajama shorts for tomorrow.
“Luna, should I do my makeup tomorrow?” Your cat meows in response and you nod. Maybe light makeup would suffice, you didn’t want to see your soon-to-be boyfriend looking all roughed up like usual. You then hang your outfit in front of your closet and walk over to your desk which faces the city, you could never get tired of the pretty view as you write your book.
You open the file of the last chapter file and smile at how far you’ve gotten. You were still in the second chapter when you met Beomgyu, but ever since then you’ve been inspired and now you’re finally at the last few pages before you’re ready to publish it.
“Can you believe this is about a girl not believing in love until someone comes along to prove her wrong? Thank you to that song for inspiring this and to Beomgyu for helping me finish this book” You laugh and cradle Luna close, burying your nose into her fur.
To say you didn’t believe in love was an understatement, but it felt like a switch had flipped inside of you upon meeting Beomgyu. You never told anyone about your views on love, usually brushing it off as just you not finding the right person, but ever since you could remember, you’ve only ever been rejected by every person you’ve shown interest in.
You choked it up as maybe you not being attractive enough for anyone, or maybe you were lacking in a way, but Beomgyu had proved you wrong completely. You thought you could survive being single and were content with it for a while until he came along and showed you that love was something worth waiting for.
“I finally feel complete Luna, and I’m grateful I was patient enough to be able to experience the thing I used to dread completely” you whisper. Luna nuzzles back against you and you sigh in contentment.
Love had a weird way of squirming itself into your life at the most unexpected moment and in the most unexpected ways. That night, you went to bed with a smile on your face and with your heart racing for the first time ever.
The date had come quicker than you had initially expected since you woke up at around noon and only had enough time to shower, eat brunch and feed Luna before you started to get ready. You put on Beomgyu’s hoodie and your pajama pants before putting on only concealer, mascara, and brown eyeliner, spraying on a bit of your favorite perfume after.
You pick out a pair of your favorite fluffy socks and put them on, not forgetting to bring your wallet, phone, lip balm, and other essentials in a small tote bag before putting your sandals on and heading over to Beomgyu’s apartment right on time.
“You could’ve texted me and I would have come to get you downstairs, but you’ve been here a handful of times. Come in!” Beomgyu is in awe at your appearance, he never expected you to turn up in his hoodie, making you look even more adorable than ever. You could say the same about him, even in a simple pair of sweats and a shirt, he still looked handsome as ever.
“What’s first on the agenda today Gyu?” You giggle and set your bag down, before seeing a switch wired up to the TV and an array of games right beside it. “No way?! You actually bought a switch, I can’t believe you. I guess scoring a part-time job at a fancy restaurant has its perks” you joke.
“I work minimum wage, I had to save up like crazy but I honestly just wanted to buy one so I could play with you since you had one. I mean, I even started grinding on Animal Crossing like a madman” Beomgyu follows you and plops onto his couch as you inspect the games he had.
You felt shy almost, he really bought a switch just so you two could play together? What kind of person would go through that much effort just for you? Only Beomgyu would.
“You’re crazy you know that, but that’s really cute of you. You should be glad I brought mine, but first, let’s play Mario Kart” You grab the controller and hand Beomgyu the other one, making his heart race.
This date was probably one of the best impulsive decisions he had ever made, and seeing your smile was worth the countless shifts he’s worked to get the console.
From bickering over who won to sharing takeout, and now settling down while watching Harry Potter, you couldn’t have asked for anything better. That was until Beomgyu suddenly got up and you wondered where he was going.
“Wait there, I have to do this no matter how cheesy it might seem” Beomgyu calls out from his room. You chuckle and pause the movie, you needed all of your focus to be on the man since he was doing something special for you.
Beomgyu comes back holding his guitar and your heart starts racing again. Was he going to sing you a song? And your thoughts were correct as he sat in front of you with a bashful look, tuning his guitar to avoid your gaze. He never thought he could ever love someone so much to the point where he could even write an entire song for them.
Beomgyu sucks in a breath and looks at you with love in his eyes, there was no turning back from this and honestly, he had nothing to lose. He liked you so much that he’d be willing to do anything for you, so when he sees you tear up upon him finishing the song, he decided to confess everything he’s felt towards you.
“Y/n, my other half that I would’ve never expected was just within my reach. From the first time I laid my eyes on you, I knew you were my everything and threw every thought away. You were on my mind every waking moment and now I fully understand that I love you,” Beomgyu says and takes your hand in his before continuing.
“You made me learn how to show affection towards the one you cared for, doing everything in my power to even see you happy. The countless bouquets I got weren’t even for anything specific, I just needed to see you because you’re prettier than any flower in that shop for that matter. Seeing how passionate you were about your job and how much you cared for others only made me want you more,” he pauses to take in a breath, and you let out the one you didn’t even know you were holding.
“I was broken when you told me about the countless rejections you’ve gotten, how could they not appreciate the most amazing person right in front of them? I will never understand when knowing you was one of the best things that could have ever happened to me, and I hope you know that I will wait for you however long you want me to because I will love you with all my heart” Beomgyu ends his confession and you don’t take another second before crashing your lips against his. You pull away and look at him before letting out a confession of your own because who knew you both felt so deeply for each other?
“You, are one of the main reasons I started to believe in love again. I was a hopeless romantic writing a book about a girl giving up on love, but you inspired me to make her feel it again. You showed me that love is worth waiting for and that it always comes in the most unexpected ways, I love you so much Beomgyu, I hope you know that. You don’t need to wait a moment longer when I want you just as much” you breathe out.
Beomgyu kisses you again and he smiles against your lips, nothing else mattered at that moment except the two of you. Even if love really did take its time, it brings the right people together and the wait is worth all the heartbreak and growth in the process.

for the virgoracha event! i'd love your take on casually talkative and giggly sex with either jisung or seungmin! like having a normal conversation or gossiping about something while making each other feel good...
omg i love this concept so much!!! thank you for sending it in lovie 🥰
Tumblr media
it's been a busy week for both of you, jisung going from one thing to the other while you only worked mornings--resulting in barely any time together.
you didn't get to talk much, you being a bad texter and jisung unable to wake up early enough to spend any quality time in the morning. it meant you didn't get to speak with him about all the drama happening at work between you and your heartbroken coworker that decided she can just slack off all day. it also meant you didn't get a chance to sleep together either.
all that was being fixed tonight, after a nice dinner--finally together--the pair of you fell on the bed quickly. even though you haven't had sex in a few days jisung didn't rush anything. he kissed you deeply as his arms caged you in, thrusting in lazily as he asked you questions about all the drama he missed.
"isn't she the same one that told on you to your manager when you went home early?" he asked, brows furrowed in confusion, and concentration.
"yes!" you gasped, wrapping your legs around his hips as you pushed him in deeper, "oh, fuck, ji. like that."
he nods, keeping up the movement you liked before he grumbles, "i hate her. every time i come in she gives me this massive side eye."
"yeah, she hates you," you roll your eyes. jisung thrusts in deeper at that.
"what? why?"
"apparently you have a better fashion sense than her," jisung laughs, kissing your collarbone sweetly.
"really?" you hum, grabbing his wrist and bringing his hand to your chest. jisung grabs a handful of your tits, rolling your nipple between his fingers as your eyes flutter shut. "like this?"
"yeah," you moan. "god, i hate her. you know she's the one that booked that weekend off so we all had overtime."
jisung groans, stilling inside you for a second. "i can't believe she's the reason you had to work so hard."
he starts moving again, this time picking up his pace. he lifts your thigh, sliding inside of you easily with the added grip he has on your body. he holds onto your thigh tightly, his eyes fluttering shut as a small moan leaves him.
"i hate her, too," he says, slightly breathless.
you nod, exhaling sharply as jisung finds your sensitive spot now. "what about you?" you struggle saying. "was work alright this week?"
"shut up for a second," he giggles, "i'll tell you in a second."
"oh, really?" you laugh at him, "you're gonna cum in a second?"
"don't--" he hisses, groaning loudly as you teasingly clench your walls around him. you laugh at that, deciding to pause the conversation for a moment while jisung starts thrusting so fast the bed starts shaking with it. you'll have more time to hear about his week later.

Joshua has a lovely singing voice. It’s soft and gentle, blanketing you in serenity like a heavy feathered comforter. At night, you lay your head against his chest and listen to the vibrations that lull you to sleep, one warm hand smoothing over the expanse of your back. When it became too difficult to lay on your stomach, he learned to sleep on his, keeping one arm wrapped around your hips and his lips pressed to your belly as he sang well into the night. Now, you watch him from the doorway as he rocks back and forth with your little one pressed to his chest. The melodic sound of his voice dancing around the room like the lights from the projector painting a moving galaxy on the nursery ceiling. A smile crosses your lips because you know the sweetest of dreams will be coming their way very soon - they always do when he sings to you.

Bittersweet ‣ csb
‣ pairing: choi soobin x reader
‣ genre: fluff, implied f2l, 'drunken confessions' cliche
‣ wc: 2.6k
‣ summary: in which a very drunk soobin is not afraid to tell you how he truly feels about you
‣ warnings?: soobin is (really) drunk, sorta really cliche but I like cliches, mentions of reader being shorter than Soobin
‣ an: first soobin fic huhhh?? this is a product of my severe itch to write, so it's something short but sweet! idk how good this is but I guarantee something cute ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶
Tumblr media
There was a bittersweet feeling behind waking up in daze. On one hand, you knew you had enjoyed a good, deep sleep, leaving you blissfully unaware of the world. But on the other hand, that same grogginess leaves you clueless about what had transpired while you were out like a light.
But in this case, you could say that it was a lot more bitter than it was sweet, all because you were woken up from your phone being blown up by four different boys for no clear reason. In fact, if every single missed call and text message had rendered heat through your phone, you’re one-hundred-percent sure that it would have been blown to bits by now.
You sit up, head throbbing and fuzzy from the sudden change in position, and tap on the most recent caller. It was Beomgyu.
“Y/N! Finally!” You hear him sigh through the line. In the background, you can hear the other boys’ voices, accompanied by the bass of a song you couldn’t quite name.
Your brows furrow, blinking away the sleep. “Gyu? What’s up? Are you guys okay? I was taking a nap.” The mix of confusion and curiosity wakes you up.
There’s more ruckus on the other side of the line and you’re tempted to yell out for them to spill, only you’re sure that they’re not going to hear anything. You glance over at your clock through your pitch-black room and find that you’ve slept through dinner. It was nearing midnight. This only feeds your curiosity.
“Y/N are you able to come to where we are right now?” Yeonjun’s taken over the phone. There’s urgency in his voice and now you’re worried, “We’re at a club downtown.”
“Downtown?” You groan, “I’m not sure if…” To be fair, you’ve just woken up and now you’re being requested to drive down to the city on a Friday night? You were in no mood to—
“It’s Soobin.”
“Soobin? What happened?” You shoot questions, “Is he okay? What is he even doing at a club?” That should’ve been your first question. Soobin wasn’t one to tag along on trips to the club. Usually, he and Kai would opt to visit an internet cafe while the others drank like their lives depended on it.
“We’re… not sure,” Yeonjun retorts, “But he’s just asking for you. If we touch him, he starts yelling and there’s no way we’re getting accused of anything.” You hear a familiar voice start screaming in the background and then you hear Yeonjun’s voice scold someone, “Beomgyu, I literally told you not to touch him until Y/N’s here… I’ll send you the location?”
“Go for it,” you say. At this point you’re already grabbing whatever hoodie you can find and you’re making your way down the stairs, “I’ll meet you guys there.” Yeonjun sighs out a relieved ‘thank you’ before ending the call.
You hastily slip on your shoes and grab your car keys, your mind racing with concern for Soobin. The drive to downtown feels like an eternity as you navigate through the city streets, trying to make sense of the situation. The club they mentioned is known for its loud music and lively atmosphere, and you can't help but wonder what Soobin, usually the reserved and introverted one, is doing there.
Finally, you arrive at the club and park your car nearby. At this hour in the night, you don’t even bat an eye at the parking meter sitting right next to your car. As you step out onto the bustling sidewalk, the thumping bass and muffled laughter spill out from the club's entrance. A small part of you is afraid to even go in, but as you take a deep breath, you prepare yourself for whatever awaits you inside.
The club's neon lights cast an eerie glow on the people entering and exiting, almost creating a movie-like atmosphere. The first thing you notice in the second you enter is the change in humidity. The place was stuffy and filled with people. You felt sticky even though you haven’t been there for an entire minute and you didn’t like it.
With your heart pounding, you make your way through the crowd, following Yeonjun’s text that indicated they were at the far corner of the club. You’re relieved to see that it was in a quieter area of the club, away from the pulsating music and dancing bodies.
Taehyun notices you first, being the most sober out of all of them, he waves you over, calling out your name despite it being drowned out by the music. The other three look over, waves of relief washing over their faces when they realize that you’ve finally arrived.
As you reach the boys, they part to reveal a very drunk Soobin. He sits hunched over a table, his left arm propping up his head while his right hand draws doodles on the surface before him. He looks almost identical to a child being babysat.
“He said he wasn’t going to drink,” Taehyun explains, “Before we knew it he was all… like this.” He gestures to Soobin, scratching his temple.
You’re compelled to palm your face, sighing, “Is he sobering up, at least?”
Kai shakes his head, eyes wide, “No. He keeps finding ways to get more drinks.”
“Yeah, he finished all mine,” Beomgyu pouts. He was sitting across from Soobin, arms crossed. There’s a line of empty glasses sitting right in front of him as evidence, “We’re just glad you’re here though. We were being serious about this.” You watch Beomgyu reach out to touch Soobin’s elbow with his index finger. Right at contact, Soobin scowls and starts yelling as if Beomgyu had just threatened to slice his skin with his fingernail, “He’s been doing that all night. He keeps asking for you, too.”
“He’s so far gone that he doesn’t even realize you’re here,” Yeonjun remarks, blinking at Soobin. "Hey, Soobin!" Soobin's ears perk up at the sound of his name, and he turns his head towards you, resembling a curious meerkat.
Soobin’s eyes meet yours and his face lights up, “Y/N, you’re here!” The lanky boy pushes himself off the table and tries to regain his balance before stumbling over to you. Without hesitation, you rush to his side and throw his arm around your shoulder, attempting to steady him. Being shorter than him, you're not sure if it's working perfectly, but you do your best to provide support.
You suck your teeth, “Choi Soobin, who told you to drink this much? Why aren’t you letting the boys help you?”
Soobin’s in a daze. He's not really catching on to the fact that you're talking to him. All he sees is your lips moving as you scold him. He reaches out to poke your neck and then your cheek.
“I guess it’s a good sign that he isn’t screaming,” Yeonjun points out, “Let’s go, then?”
You nod and then jut your head toward Soobin, “Can you help me out with him?”
Yeonjun gives you a nod and moves over to grab Soobin's other arm, assuming that he would no longer scream. But the moment his hand touches Soobin, he starts yelling just as expected. “Okay! Okay!” Yeonjun steps back and gives Soobin a blank stare, completely done with the younger boy.
You stifle a laugh, “Binnie, can you let Yeonjun help me please?” Soobin nods and watches Yeonjun repeat his actions, taking his arm to support him. This time he doesn’t start yelling.
The six of you navigate through the crowd, keeping your gaze fixed on the exit at the far end of the room. Once you finally make it outside, you direct everyone down the street, gesturing towards the direction to go, "My car's parked over there."
They simply nod and follow you, piling into your car without hesitation as you all get ready to leave. Soobin’s slumped in the passenger’s seat, his head wobbling side to side. He’s muttering words under his breath but you can’t quite make them out.
You’re driving them back to their house, which was conveniently on the way back to your home. Everyone was too exhausted to make small talk, so a playlist you’ve chosen and Soobin’s murmuring fills the silence.
“Thanks, Y/N.” Taehyun speaks up as you near their house. From where his voice was coming from, you can tell he was sitting directly behind you, “We owe you.”
“It’s nothing,” You hum, “I’m just… trying to figure out why Soobin got drunk today. It’s out of character.” You knew your best friend, Soobin, inside out. He was the kind of person who would take a sip of alcohol and be satisfied, not really needing more than that. But then again, he could have just wanted to do it for fun. He didn’t need a reason to drink.
“I think it’s because Taehyun gave him a drink that tasted nothing like alcohol,” Beomgyu says, “Then it went downhill from there.”
“You’re so nice, Y/N~” Soobin giggles, “You’re so so so so nice! The nicest of all persons I know.” He points out the window and continues, “See? You’re driving us to our house! That’s so nice! That’s why I really like you.”
You breath hitches in your throat, eyes widening at Soobin’s comment. Unbeknownst to you, the other boys exchange alarmed glances, silently pleading for Soobin to stop before he reveals more than he intends to.
“You’re a funny drunk, Binnie,” you say, trying to swat the comment away, regardless of the meaning. You turn into their street and park along the curb once you’ve reached their house.
Soobin pouts, his expression displaying a mix of confusion and disappointment. "Funny how?" he persists, his drunken state causing his emotions to be more apparent.
You quickly recover, mustering a playful smile to cover up any potential awkwardness. "Just funny in the way you talk and act," you reply, hoping to divert his attention from his previous statement.
Soobin's pout slowly turns into a small grin, satisfied with your response. "I guess that's a good thing," he muses, his words slightly slurred. "As long as I can make you laugh, Y/N. I like when I make you laugh. I like seeing your pretty smile."
Your heart skips a beat and you quickly turn the car off. Has Soobin always been a flirty drunk? You try to shrug it off, getting out to help the drunk boy from his seat. The others are already out of the vehicle and Yeonjun’s waiting for you to pull Soobin out of his side.
You open the door and a pout has returned on Soobin’s face, “You keep ignoring me… Do you not like me?” Yeonjun tries to speak to Soobin using his eyes, but obviously, with the intoxicated state that Soobin is in, the signals completely fly past his head.
You groan, helping him up, “Let’s get you some water before you go to bed.”
“I don’t want to go to bed,” Soobin whines. He looks over at the older boy and frowns, “I don’t need your help.” He shrugs Yeonjun off and uses both of his arms to cling onto yours. Yeonjun lets the boy be, walking ahead to hold the door open for the both of you.
Soobin kicks his sneakers off out of habit, shifting a bit of his weight onto you in the process, “Do you want to play animal crossing or mario kart or—”
“Soobin, you need to go to sleep,” you say, “We can play tomorrow.” Together, you both ascend the stairs and eventually arrive at Soobin's room. He sighs at the sight of his bed, plopping onto his neatly fixed bed. The intoxicated boy lays down with his legs hanging off the edge. He swings them playfully and you can’t help but giggle at his state. You’ve rarely seen Soobin drunk, but now you know that when he’s drunk, he was like a 6-foot-tall toddler.
You turn to grab water, but you’re met with Kai, who was already at Soobin’s door with a cup filled to the brim, “Do you want anything, Y/N?”
You thank him and think, “Maybe tea would be nice before I leave.”
He nods, “I’ll prepare that for you.”
You thank him again and bring the water to Soobin, who is now sitting up. He's slumped over, head looking too heavy for him to handle, “Drink up.”
Soobin squints at the beverage, leaning forward as if he were trying to read the non-existent writing on the glass. "Water is boring. I want... yakult and sprite... with soju," he declares, giggling at the thought of alcohol. As amusing as it is to see him so enthusiastic about alcohol, you shake your head in disagreement.
“That’s fair,” you sigh, “But I know you’ll regret not drinking this when you wake up tomorrow with a bad headache.” You urge him to take the cup. And after a few moments of deciding, he sighs and shakily takes the cup from you.
Soobin takes a few long sips before he looks up at you, his gaze intense. "Don't... don't tell you that I told you this, but..." He glances around cautiously to make sure no one else is listening, "But... I love how you always look out for me." His words hold a hint of vulnerability, as if the alcohol has loosened his inhibitions enough to reveal his true feelings, “You take care of me, too. And…” Soobin takes another sip of his water and smiles.
You wait for him to continue but he looks up at you, waiting for a response, “Well, it’s what friends do.” You don’t even need to think twice when it comes to Soobin.
"Friends," he repeats, almost as if testing out the word on his lips. "Yeah, we're friends, right?"
You raise an eyebrow at his question, finding it slightly odd that he would question your friendship. "Of course. We've been friends for a long time," you reassure him.
Soobin chugs down the rest of the water and holds the cup out for you to take, “You’re right… but…”
You gently take the empty cup from him, setting it aside. The need for sleep is finally reaching Soobin’s eyes and you can see the way his eyes flutter shut before he forces them open. He scooches closer to his pillow and pouts. You give him the look for him to continue.
“Don’t tell you I told you this but…” he repeats his actions from earlier, looking around, “I think I have feelings for you.” A giggle slips out of his lips and he nods in satisfaction.
You freeze in place and blink at the drunk boy in front of you, “Soobin, you’re drunk.”
He shakes his head, eyes half closed and practically begging him to sleep, “I just drank water, I’m not drunk!”
“You are,” you sigh, trying to dismiss his earlier confession.
“I…may be drunk, but I still have feelings!”
He’s right. When you’re drunk, your emotions are simply amplified, but they are still your real emotions. Surely, this could be the case with Soobin. But then again, not everyone was the same when they were intoxicated, “Soobin, I’ll make a promise with you, okay?”
At this point, he’s being lulled to sleep by the alcohol, but he still nods and his words are coming out mumbled, “A promise?”
“We’ll talk about this tomorrow. When you’re sober and when I’m not tired. I want to hear what you have to say.” And, frankly, you had things (that were far overdue) to say too.
“Promise?”
The moment feels dreamlike, standing in Soobin's room with him being so vulnerable and open about his feelings (even if it could be the alcohol talking). You can't help but wonder if he'll remember any of this in the morning.
You nod. “Now go to sleep, dumbass. I know you want to.”
“I do,” He laughs, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Goodnight, Binnie.”

—————————
han jisung was an interesting person. he had a type of “rizz” that could be described as like weird and slightly off putting in a cool way. to you he was this kid who felt he could definitely pull you given the right opportunity or line—not that you were really that much older than him. it wasn’t the age that mattered, it was more that you were in totally different places in life. he was in his early twenties, in the prime of his life and career while you were moving into your later years of young adulthood and were looking more to settle down soon rather than hookup or casually date. you had dates and people you were getting closer too but none of them were ever the right fit.
in walks crashes jisung. literally, that’s how you met. he crashed into your office at the jyp building one day. don’t ask how, that still remained to be a mystery you couldn’t quite understand no matter how many times you heard the stories from each member.
from the moment he met you he was always trying to flirt with you or ask you, even a few times he just tired to kiss you. every time you dodged his advances with an eye roll and playful shove which only fueled his need to win you over more.
for jisung, as soon as he met you he knew. it was something he felt deep in his gut that he was put on this earth for you. sure he came on a little strong but he knew it would take some warming up for you. he knew you were headstrong and determined. you knew the way life was supposed to go and falling for a 20 yr old popstar was not the way life was supposed to go—especially a popstar at the company you worked for.
once again you came into the jyp building, greeting the receptionist at the front and other coworkers on your way to your office. it wasn’t 20 minutes later that jisung was leaning against your door frame with what would be your second coffee of the day in his hand.
“저기요 누나/형,” he greeted you with a smirk.
you didn’t look up, you kept typing away at your computer and gave him a slightly perturbed, “hello, jisung.”
“i brought your favorite.” jisung set the coffee on your desk.
“thank you.”
“of course! anything for my baby.” he said in earnest.
as usual you rolled your eyes and deadpanned, “i’m not your baby.”
“well, you could be. i was thinking about our talk the other day and i think you’re wrong about me.”
“oh, really?” you finally looked up at him.
“yes!” his eyes rounded and eyebrows raised. he continued to talk about how your age shouldn’t matter and he feels that you could make things work even with his job and how he could take care of you but it all faded to white noise because he was just so damn cute. his brows furrowed together as he spoke meaning he was serious about what he was saying. he was so determined and…
no!
you snapped out of your daze, sitting up straight and squaring your shoulders to continue typing away at the keyboard. “that’s fine, jisung. thank you for sharing your thoughts.”
“wait, so you’ll go with me?” he asked but to be honest, you were trying so hard to ignore him that you simply waived your hand and said, “sure” before you could even process what was happening.
“yes!! you won’t regret this, hyung/noona! this will be the best date of your life!” jisung ran out the door, leaving the words hanging in the air for you to grasp.
“date… JISUNG!” you called after him but it was no use. he was already halfway to the dorms to tell all the boys and figure out where to get a suit so quickly.
he got you.

{9:27 am}
"I am going to jump off a bridge " You said looking at your phone.
Marks head snapped towards you.
"what happened?" he said laughing lightly.
"oh you know just my boyfriend looking at another woman !" you exclaimed shoving your phone in his face.
Mark looked at the picture,it was of him looking at a fan at the fansign they had a mere couple hour ago.
"Babe what?"he laughed
"Nah what is this look at the way your looking at her " you pouted you weren't actually upset but the way he was looking at her made you want to rip your hair out and give out a silent scream.
"I look at you like that" "Do you Mark do you?"
"Yes i do I just think you don't realize . I look at you with more love " he said smiling at you looking at you.
"Plus you can stare at me for as long as you like unlike the thirty seconds she had with me" he spoke with a low voice pulling you in by the waist.
"I'm still jumping off a bridge"
