Also, I used to participate in Drawlloween a lot, so you're bound to find plenty spooky art as well. Oh, there's also this comic, that apparently resonated with way too many people.

My personal art tends to have a more surreal/magical quality to it, as it's usually a way for me to illustrate my thoughts or feelings.

Pride Valknuts - Two designs depicting the Valknut made of Pride flags/Pride colors. Valknut literally means “knot of the slain warrior,” so I’ve designed these Pride versions- because think of how many have already died for this cause? Either fighting for it, or murdered because of it. Think about Stonewall. The AIDS crisis. Think about how many people had already risked their safety just being open about who they were, or protecting those in the lgbt+ communities. And how many still do. Let's take back the symbol from those who use it for less noble/hateful causes. (2023)

It's hilarious to me that there is talk about korg being gay in the new thor movie bc already people are going "taika made korg queer!"

Korg is gay in the comics. Once again, Taika is getting credit for something he didn't create. It's almost a meme at this point and I live for it.

Marvel's Thorn

Has Thor ever been a strong entry in the MCU? Yes... and no.

Yes, in that it gave us Loki; a major setpiece in as many films as each of the core heroes have plus a series (with another on the way) ...and he's just supporting cast.

No, in that the fanbase tends to defecate on each entry of the film past the first; especially when talk centers around the portrayals of his character.

Personally, I thought they were all serviceable; with "Ragnarok" being the shot in the arm the Thor subfranchise needed.

Thor had a similar problem to Hulk; he worked much better as part of an ensemble than as a headliner. Both being hard fits as deity-esque beings surrounded by mere (and somewhat mere) mortals.

On their own, they need credible threats and with that, a sense of foreboding and dread that comes with it. Instead, we got mirth and sassiness. A norseman beserker locked in a room with politicians and forced to play nice.

What should've been a character shrouded in Shakespearen level tragedy instead gets treated with less gravity than a television dramady.

Sitting in with a small number of theater patrons during the coming attractions; I hear one exclaim (during the Wakanda Forever preview) how the first Black Panther film was so boring that he had to get up and leave midway through. I waited for him to do the same about a third way into "Love and Thunder".

The villain wasn't thrilling, threatening, complex or even that developed... and he wasn't all that original (came off as an understudy of Thanos).

The protagonists didn't even gel as a motley crew.

Putting a meme into a movie and then running into the ground (figuratively and literally) didn't make it taste better going down.

For all the criticism of it being a "woke" film, it never fully committed to being woke; it literally cut or rushed through any hint of representation (save the Korg mating ritual)

The story didn't flow smoothly either.

Sometimes it seemed that Taika was poking fun at all the below surface flaws; like when I felt that Asgard was underdeveloped (compared to Wakanda) and he pointed that out through Thor addressing the Asgardian children in the latter part of the film. Or how he used theater within a theater to mock the seriousness that the film perhaps needed.

I did respect how they slid a gore scene past the R rating by making the blood gold. I also dug how Gor the God Butcher was upstaged by Thor the God Butcher.

I may watch it once more once it gets to Disney+ but IMO, this was a wholly forgettable film. (My wife thought it was "cute" though)

The Mosley Review: Thor: Love and Thunder

If there's one character that has had the most growth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while his solo films have dropped in quality since the first entry, its Thor. His first film was a shakespearian epic that was simple, but the character development was superb. It understood the assignment and passed with flying colors. Then by the time we got to Ragnorok, the character's films became a joke and bad one at that. I'm all for switching things up mid stream, but not to the point where you ruin the foundation that bore its existence. I was truly saddened that one of the greatest Norse Gods was filed down to a Saturday morning cartoon and not taken seriously. Now comes a new entry and it started off so powerful and introduces something that this character has needed since the The Dark World, a great villain. After that gorgeous opening, the same problems emerge that the previous film had and just keeps getting worse. The tone of this film is all over the place and only seems to finally focus up towards the mid section of the film. There seems to be a fear to let your fanbase that has been there since 2008, see a more dramatic and mature toned story. Instead of embracing death and a many scenes of tension, they pull back on the reigns and drop a joke that completely stops the story progression. It was truly a big disappointment that this film really didn't learn from its past mistakes. At least some of the characters this time around get treated better for the most part.

Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor and he is still great as the character. I've wished for him to step back into the version of the character that is more serious and less a buffoon and that wish has partially come true. He does take things more seriously this time and I did like his self deprecating humor. His comedic charm is still intact and he is always great in action scenes. Natalie Portman returns as Jane Foster and she gets a hell of an upgrade in character development. I truly loved her chemistry with Hemsworth in the first Thor film and thankfully that has finally returned. There are some moments where her dialogue was a bit rough and she did the best she could with it. Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie and I liked that she was more toned down. She wasn't as in your face "I'm a strong woman with no flaws" type of character this time around. She was more relatable. Taika Waititi as Korg was alright this time around and there was a decision that was made with the character at first that I was hoping would stay, but of course its then played for jokes. Russell Crowe was good as Zeus and I liked that he played him as a pompous, arrogant and a lazier God. I do wish he was the ZEUS we know but once again, comedy. Christian Bale delivers a truly heartbreaking and sometimes creepy performance as Gorr. I loved that he got an amazing arc in the film and you understand his quest. He may not have been exactly what he looks like in the comics, but I dug this more human look. He was the best villain this franchise has seen in a very long time and I loved every second he was on screen.

The score by Michael Giacchino and Nami Melumad was fun and I liked the new themes that were created for Jane and Gorr. When its not Giacchino and Melumad, we are treated to almost all of the greatest hits Guns & Roses and the songs were used pretty well in the film. Visually the film was just as or more colorful than Ragnorok and is pretty to look at and actually fits this time. I know it seems like I'm ragging on the comedy alot, but it truly stops the movie everytime chance it gets. There were so many scenes where the story started to actually try to get you invested and finally show some form of tension, but it is violently ripped away by dropping a bad joke or showing off memes that have died more than 5 years ago. It was so maddening and I really couldn't stand. Director Taika Waititi is a talented filmmaker, but he has damaged this characters' image and ruined almost all chances for him to be the epic hero he’s supposed to be. He needs to step away from this character and do something that is in his wheel house instead forcing his comedic style on someone that isn't a comedian. Thor has been my favorite character since the MCU started and it pains me to see him like this. Overall it's still worth watching for Gorr but other than that, its barely a step up from Ragnorok. There are 2 end credits and I loved the second one the most. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Chemistry - Ⅱ - Research

Pairing: Valkyrie x Bisexual!Female!OC

Summary: Reese Majors decides to join a tutoring program hosted by her favorite professor for volunteer hours. She gets set up to tutor a girl named Valkyrie Brunnhilde, a bombshell she’s never met before. Reese finds herself in a world of trouble as she grows closer to the once stranger that she is meant to help with her classwork.

A/N: I write new warnings for each part of the story. You are responsible for your own consumption of stories online. DL;DR. As always, if you find anything that needs to have a warning or I mislabeled something, please let me know~

Chapter list (ongoing)

Reese's time outside class was spent aimlessly scrolling through Val's social media, admiring her photos and funny captions. She considered texting Val numerous times to see if she was doing anything and wanted to hang out, but Reese was easily intimidated by the prospect of asking girls out.

Yelena arrived back at the dorm and saw what Reese was up to immediately.

"That's called stalking." She pointed out as Reese scrolled from one photo to the next. Reese looked at her with big eyes,

"I'm not stalking her!" She said defensively. At least Reese didn't see it that way.

Yelena peered over her shoulder, "She's cute. Not my type, though." She said. Reese rolled her eyes,

"You don't have a type, Lena." She told her asexual, aromantic friend matter-of-factly. Reese glanced back at her phone, and she spotted a red heart. She realized she must have had her finger on the screen while talking to Yelena and accidentally liked the photo. The problem was the picture was from 9 months ago.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Reese exclaimed, dropping her phone quickly. Yelena looked confused, unsure of what she was freaking out about. "I liked a photo from nearly a year ago! Fuck!" She said. Reese began to feel nauseous, understanding now what all those poor souls from the internet memes were talking about.

"Just unlike it, it's not the end of the world," Yelena said, trying to get Reese to chill out.

"I can't! It'll still show up in the notification, and once she goes to the photo and sees that my like isn't there, she'll know I unliked it! But I do like that photo! God dammit!" Reese explained, still pacing and avoiding looking at her phone. "What if Val doesn't even like me like that? I mean, there are many photos of her with some dude named Korg."

"I don't understand the big deal. So you liked a photo from a long time ago, and? It could be flattering." Yelena said, trying to soften the blow. Reese flopped down onto her bed and sighed,

"Or she could see it as stalking, as you said."

It was time for Reese's first session with Thor, and she was not excited. She and Thor were best friends in school, but that all changed when his brother decided that Reese was evil for going on one date with him and deciding she doesn't like him like that. Few people knew about that, and Reese wanted to keep it that way.

She was trying her best to walk Thor through a basic equation to determine his understanding of Professor Colson's class, but he needed to pay more attention to what she was saying. Instead, he was on his phone.

"Earth to Odinson; what's the answer to this? I've basically spelled it out for you!" Reese told him, trying not to laugh at her use of the old phrase from school. The big, blonde himbo looked up from his phone and to the paper, squinting.

"That would be... nine?" He answered in the form of a question. Reese sighed heavily and wrote the big number "6" on the page without a word. She didn't mean to be an ass, but she was still beside herself about what had happened earlier.

Thor sensed this, oddly enough. "You seem glum, chum." He told her. Reese rested her head on her palm,

"Just girl troubles." She admitted. She had no intention of getting deeper into it with him, knowing well that they weren't buddies like they used to be. Thor was delighted to hear a topic more interesting than calculus and decided to pry.

"I'm pretty good with girls! What's the problem?" He asked, suddenly giving Reese his full attention. This was when she realized that they wouldn't be getting much done in the way of tutoring today. Fuck it. She thought to herself before explaining the picture-liking incident with him, leaving out the detail of whose photos she was perusing at the time but making sure to include that Reese isn't positive that she swings that way.

Thor let out an exaggerated gasp. "That's brutal, but you should just play it cool if you see her. Pretend it didn't even happen, and if she asks, tell her the truth." He told her. Reese reflected on the advice for a moment, realizing it was better than just avoiding Val entirely. "By the way, who is this girl?" Thor spoke back up.

Reese started to remember what it was like with her old friend. He was a jock but the kindest jock you'd ever meet. She leaned in closer to him. "You keep this to yourself, alright?" She told him, wide-eyed. Thor nodded, swearing himself to secrecy. "Valkyrie Brunnhilde" She whispered to him.

This took Thor aback for a moment as his brain put together everything he had ever heard around campus about Val. "Well, you'll be happy to hear that she plays for your team." He told Reese with a grin.

Reese lightly hit Thor's enormous arm with the back of her hand. "Shut the fuck up." She laughed, thinking he wasn't being serious. Thor shrugged,

"I swear, up and down." Reese took a moment, still not believing him,

"What about that Korg guy in a ton of her pics?" she asked.

"Her buddy, nothing more," Thor told her. He was one-hundred percent certain.

"I think you're bluffing," Reese said, trying not to smile with giddiness in case he was playing her. Thor threw his hands up in defense,

"I've been around. I hear and see everything, like Heimdall!"

While Reese and Thor were meant to discuss independent and dependent variables, Valkyrie was attempting to get the skinny on her tutor from her roommate, Wanda.

"Reese Majors? She was a huge nerd in high school, but she had her 'She's All That' moment and glowed up over the summer break before our Junior year. Was a bit of a party animal after that, but it didn't last very long." Wanda explained, giving Val more detail than she originally asked for. "Also, that year, Thor Odinson set her up with his brother Loki, but apparently, she didn't like his attitude, so she shut that down. She started dating Clint Barton after that, though." Wanda continued to explain.

Val sunk a bit at the idea of Reese being straight until her roomie spoke up again. "Nobody really knows why she broke up with Clint, but she hasn't really dated anyone since. The running theory is she's gay."

"Really? Why do they assume that?" Val asked, hoping for substantial evidence. She wasn't looking to pursue a relationship with Reese immediately, but she was very enamored with the strawberry blonde.

Wanda chuckled at Val's question. "Because somebody found her lesbian Game of Thrones fanfiction account online. Unless she's just a slut for Cersei Lannister; lesbi-honest." She stated, putting extra emphasis on somebody like she knew who. Val pried for more information.

"Who was the somebody?"
