people's misconception about neurodivergency is a huge part of why a lot of people are surprised and even defensive when they learn things like epilepsy, Tourette's, schizophrenia, and ocd make you neurodivergent.
neurodivergency ISN'T "autism and things that are similar". autism and ADHD aren't the standard for being neurodivergent.

in light of recent events I feel that it's important to highlight that being afraid for your life at school is not normal. being scared to die at school or at a store or out in the streets is not normal.
this is a serious issue that multiple countries have resolved, US politicians's refusal to do anything about this is obscene and immoral. anti gun control politicians are directly responsible for the murders of thousands of American citizens by being complicit.
gun control is a huge part of reducing the risk of gun crime, especially in schools. other factors such as rehabilitation and (mental) healthcare also play a part.
US schools are a death trap for children right now and politicians sit on their asses cradling their guns. this is unacceptable.
May you find peace: Tate Myre, 16, Hana St. Juliana, 14, and Madisyn Baldwin, 17.

queer ppl who are attracted to men are allowed to be proud of their attraction. sick of seeing "unfortunately I like men 😔" shit floating around. men are rad and liking men is also rad. ppl shouldn't have be ashamed or embarrassed of their attraction to men

the bisexual manifesto supports creating and inventing new terms and labels to help identify yourself and feel comfortable within your identity. the bisexual manifesto SUPPORTS pansexuality, omnisexuality, polysexuality, and any other multiattraction label.
stop using the bisexual manifesto to be shitty towards mspec folk.

kids on tiktok are actually mad that some trans people like the name Arson. "it's a crime and ppl have died from it!!" I'll name myself manslaughter because it sounds fucking cool, get over yourself.
I guess we can't name our kids Winter or Snow because people have died from hypothermia, and the name Hunter is also banned because people have died from guns :(((

really do not like how the conversation about nonbinary people has been boiled down to afab vs amab. People are so obsessed with knowing if a nonbinary person is afab or amab. ofc those labels have an important purpose but I can't be the only person who sees the irony of putting nonbinary people into a binary.

"neurodivergent people aren't entitled to tolerance and patience from neurotypicals" is not a take I expected to see today but I am 100% going to take issue with anyone who thinks this is even remotely okay to say.
I am so fucking sick and tired of you people acting as if neurodivergent ppl aren't disabled. as if we are happy to be an inconvenience to you, as if we're just a broken toy you're allowed to discard when you feel like it.
WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS WITH A DISABILITY.
it is a totally different topic in whether or not you as an individual have the knowledge and capability to interact with a disabled person on a daily basis, that is understandable. but this is not a conversation we can have yet. not when disabled people still face so much stigma and discrimination in all aspects of our life.
and yall want to make yourselves a fucking victim because we told you to have a sliver of patience and take our disability into concideration.
disabled people are always told to conform and force ourselves to be "normal" so that people won't hate us, so that we can get an education and a job. what we're asking of you is the BARE MINIMUM.
this is some shameful bullshit to be spewing as if you said something intelligent.
fuck this shit.

way too many new/young lgbtq people act like they know lgbtq history, terminology, and culture better than those of us who've been out for 5+ years. you are 14 and you came out last month do not lecture me about what nonbinary means.

how people think autism works:
Tumblr media
how it actually works:
Tumblr media
autistic people are an incredibly diverse group of people with different traits and different ways of showing those traits. there's no such thing as "less" or "more" autistic, just autistic but in a different way. there is also no bridge between allistic or autistic, there is no middle ground no "24% autistic". if you aren't 100% allistic you're autistic.

as infuriating as it is to see people spreading misinformation and faking mental illnesses online. I've found that the most disgusting behaviour is often found under "mental illness fakers cringe compilation" videos.
I cannot even begin to count how many times these people who "oh so dearly care about the mentally ill!" belittle and mock ACTUAL symptoms of mental illness in the comment sections of these cringe comps.
I've specifically seen this happen a lot with autism and DID/OSDD and it is ALWAYS people who aren't part of those communities who then go and decide what are the "real symtomps" of those conditions and what aren't.
the ableism in these comment sections is the reason we cannot have nice things. it is proof enough yall are hateful enough to create cringe compilations that are 80% of minors, and most of these comps often include people who actually do have the disorder they're being fakeclaimed for.
anyway if you have a problem with fakers I suggest you do something actually useful and spread factual information and educate about the symtomps of different conditions instead of mocking kids online.

stumbled on a tiktok of a person reacting to someone with Tourette's and the comments are filled with shit like this. and as someone with Tourette's it makes me feel so incredibly frustrated.
tic disorders are DISORDERS, they are a neurological condition. not a cute quirk. please just for a second imagine yourself saying this to someone with any other disorder. it's offensive and really weird.
