Koi no yokan
Kim Seungmin x reader
Synopsis: Knowing you’re going to fall for him eventually.
Tumblr media
Koi no yokan doesn’t mean love in first sight, it’s closer to love at second sight, it’s the feeling when you meet someone that you’re going to fall in love with them. Maybe you won’t love them right away, but it’s inevitable that you will.
In your case the second you met Seungmin, you had this strange feeling you never felt before but you thought nothing of it.
You both first met in your favorite cafe, after you ordered your regular order before accidentally sitting across someone at their table. When you noticed them you instantly apologized.
He was a handsome guy, who was just stairing at you with a cup of coffee and a red velvet cake beside it.
“I’m so sorry,Sir I wasn’t paying attention and-“You can sit here” he interrupted you with a smile. You let go of your apple pie with ice cream leaving it where it was with your hot cocoa.
“What’s your name?” He asked you liking how clueless you are when you still haven’t noticed who he was.
“My name is ___, What’s yours?” You asked back making him tilt his head adorably.
“My name is Seungmin” He answered as he watched you take a bite on the pie and you seemed to noticed his glaze because you took a fork full of pie and held it to his mouth.
“This is my favorite thing to get from the Cafe, they have the best apple pie” You stated proudly making him take a bite without hesitation. For some reason he trusted you and would take your word for everything without hesitation.
He slowly chew on the apple pie before his eyes went wide with how right you were. “T-This is so good” He said craving more.
“See I told you! Try it with the ice cream it tastes even more better” You said giving him a second fork filled but this time with vanilla ice cream on it. He gladly let you feed him the pie smiling in enjoyment.
You ate the rest of the pie feeding him most of it at the end, and then Seungmin remembered he still had his red velvet cake and you were packing up to leave.
So Seungmin secretly packed the cake and wrote a little letter as you left to the bathroom and put it in your bag when you left it with him. “I’m so sorry Seungmin but I have to attend a meeting, goodbye” You said rushing for your bag and leaving him before he could say goodbye.
As you made it in your car you forgot to ask for his number, you weren’t in love but it was a different feeling. You looked in your bag for your phone until you saw a red velvet cake and a fork in a clear container with a hand written note.
I had a good time with you maybe we can hang out again and show me different foods or desserts - Seungmin
You smiled hoping you’ll see him again before pulling out the parking lot to head to that meeting.
A week pass by and your back to your favorite cafe, you been thinking about Seungmin 24/7 and you miss his smile and clueless look.
You were an absolute foodie and this time you ordered a brownie sundae. You sit at a table waiting for the waitress to bring your order till a guy sat across of you making you confuse before realizing it’s Seungmin.
You squeal in excitement before rushing over to him and hugged him. “Well someone missed me” He said jokingly.
“I did miss you” You said with no hesitation making him blush. “I missed you too Love bug” He said back.
You pulled away slightly where he can see your face “Love bug?” you asked dumb founded making him laugh.
“What? it’s cute” he whined making you roll your eyes playfully before going back to your seat. The same time the waitress came with your order, you thanked her noticing she been staring at Seungmin in shocked before she rushed away.
“What are we trying now love bug?” He asked excitedly just wanting to enjoy his time with you quickly.
You scooped a spoon full of ice cream before putting it in his mouth as he opened it slightly for you to feed him. “It’s a brownie sundae, it’s another thing I love here” You said as he swallowed the frozen treat.
“Mmm” he said enjoying the flavor.
With this Seungmin felt human around like he was a normal, regular person and he loved it. You just saw him a normal citizen instead of a famous k-pop singer.
You were falling for him and he was falling harder for you. Koi no yokan was a thing between them where they just fell in love after time.

koi no yokan
-------------------------------
6.
"Thanks." You grabbed the soda Nanami was handling you.
You two had just finished a mission and stopped by a convenience store to buy something to drink.
After a while, Nanami spoke. "You have been quiet."
"I thought you didn't want me making small talk." The words had come out harsher than you had intended and he glanced at you. "Sorry", you muttered, "I..."
"I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. But I did not mean you are quiet just today. I thought you liked talking to Haibara, but he thinks so too as of the last few days." He did not sound bothered, rather, if you squinted, he seemed a little concerned. "Is something bothering you?"
"Not at all!", you blurted out too fast, loud enough for a couple of bystanders to spare a glance in your direction. You cleared your throat and repeated softer this time "I mean, no, there is nothing bothering me."
The real answer had assaulted your mind at full speed. There is something bothering me. That library thing. The fact I could not fight and the fact I have no idea of what would have happened if I had. The fact that I had to be saved. That Gojo kid. The possibility of being weaker than I thought. Not that you could tell him all that.
Nanami nodded. "I see. My apologies then. We should get going." He got up and started walking.
It was true you were not usually sent on missions alone with Kento, and when you did, most times, Yu was around to strike up conversation among the three of you. But you hadn't felt uncomfortable until now. Lying to someone's face was a way to upset them, so maybe a little honesty would not hurt.
"I've just been thinking...", you started, "Nanami, if you were to rate my strength on a scale of 1 to 10, what would you give me?"
He seemed to think for a couple of seconds, still walking by your side.
"A strong 6."
"Straight forward..." You wanted to ask what he would rate himself, but you didn't.
"Don't take it the wrong way. You will probably become stronger. I just don't think being a sorcerer is all about strength though, so I wouldn't think much of it."
You nodded and continued walking in silence until you reached station.
Besides, there is always a shortage of sorcerers. It does not matter if neither of us is strong; we have to fight because we can. That thought crossed Nanami's mind as he waited for your train to arrive, but he remained silent.
As the train entered the station, you looked at Nanami. "You are right," you spoke, and he wondered if you were still thinking of what he had said, some remorse dawning on him, "I like talking to Haibara, but I like talking to you as well." You smiled at him and got in the train.
However blunt, Nanami's words had given you some comfort. But your words just now had made a light blush appear on his face. It was a shame you had not seen it.

Gai, very serious: “Do you believe in koi no yokan?”
Kakashi was immediately unimpressed, showing his distaste for the question by rolling his eyes. Love at second sight was more for the romantics of the world. He hadn’t experienced love at first sight, and he hadn’t felt anything close to the possibility of falling in love with Itachi.
Kakashi, refusing to think about Itachi: “Now you sound stupid.”
Gai: “Heh. And that is a response that I’d expect when you know I’m right!”
Kakashi, acting uninterested: “Did you say something?”

________
Teyvat was once a land where Gods or Archons ruled over. Once a land not so developed. As time passed, so did the fashion, era and mindsets of people change. Today, Teyvat is one of the most developed countries of all. With its advanced technology, no more Gods ruled over their regions. All of them retired and decided to mingle with the mortals. Now, the tales of the ancient Teyvat were spoken in history classes. You were a student in the prestigious academy of Teyvat. Only those gifted with visions were allowed into this school. Luckily, you were granted a vision. Of course, people did still believe that these Archons still exist somewhere. I mean, how else will people get visions?
You weren't that skilled with using your vision, considering it was illegal to use them. Many envied the ones with a vision. I mean, if someone got granted a vision that means even the Gods noticed their fiery passion and gave them a gift to help them along the way.
The Teyvat academy was a rather closed-off one. What everyone knew was that in this academy, kids were trained to use their visions properly and to benefit others. Kind of like heroes. Once someone graduated from the academy, it gives them a free pass to be able to wield their vision without any restrictions. But there was one big danger, the danger of death.
Heroes and villains, one fought for 'the greater good' while one fought for 'a world without visions.'
Will you survive this ride to hell with people killing for your love? Will you be able to handle the guilt of the deaths caused by you? Will you be able to escape and survive this disaster? Both villains and heroes want your love, they will kill for you. Will you be able to endure this all?
If you will not reciprocate their love, they will even kill you. Dear reader, are you sure you want to proceed? I will help you along this ride, maybe with a few hints here and there. But will that be enough? Your life is always on the line, tread carefully on these god-forsaken ropes of misery now. Make one wrong choice and you die. I hope you will live long enough to run away from them all. I wish you all the best...

Despite my shock, I wrapped my arms around her, holding her against my chest, her sobs being muffled by the fabric of my hoodie, her tears staining it.
“I never wanted you to do this to me, to make me feel these things for you,” she cried. “I’ve seen people around me, I’ve seen how it goes, I’ve lived it on my own skin… and it never ends well.”

I didn’t expect her to come and apologize the next morning.
She didn’t.
As the last day on the road unfolded, Lia moved through the tour obligations deliberately avoiding me. We caught each other’s eye a couple of times, and I tried to at least signal to her that I was reaching my limits, but she remained elusive. Myfrustration grew with each passing encounter that we had in the hotel and then in the venue where we were playing that night.
After the final notes of the music faded away and the crowd’s cheers had dimmed, I retreated backstage. I skipped the quick gathering of the team to celebrate the tour’s success. I couldn’t muster the enthusiasm to join them, and I guess my anger had been visible on stage.
I went straight for a shower once the show was finished, letting the water wash away the physical and emotional residue of the performance, and changed into comfortable clothes.
An hour later, as the backstage bustled with the dismantling of the equipment and the loading of the truck, in a narrow hallway I crossed paths with Lia again. My patience had grown thin, and this time I was going to take matters into my own hands.
I called her name, my voice echoing in the tunnel, straight and hard. Lia stopped and lifted her eyes from the iPad’s screen she was holding in both hands. She had been a mess all day, the consequences of last night’s events showing off in her face, in her eyes, but if she was one thing, that was resilient, and no matter how fucked up she was, she always managed to keep going and get her work done. It was admirable, in all honestly, but when it came to us… She was lost and helpless.
“We have to talk.”
“I’m busy right now.”
Her eyes dropped back to the iPad and she started moving. Before she could disappear from my sight again, I raised my voice.
“We have to talk and we’re gonna talk right now,” I declared, catching her attention. “So come here before I lose my fucking patience.”
She hesitated, her shoulders slumping as if my words had triggered something within her. She resisted, but she knew it wasn’t convenient for her to see me losing my shit. She reluctantly approached me, and I gestured towards the green room, now mostly empty. She walked past me as if I wasn’t there. The air in the room crackled with tension as I closed the door behind us.
“Okay,” she said, breaking the silence and setting the iPad on the table. She walked to the sofa and reclined herself on the back of it, crossing her arms over her chest in a defensive posture. As I scanned her eyes I detected a hint of insecurity and fear that she was trying to mask with an air of overconfidence. “Go on. What do you want to talk about?”
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the conversation that we should’ve had a long time ago.
“Maybe we can start with the fact that you do remember everything that happened that night.”
“What night?”
I couldn’t contain my frustration.
“For gods sake,” I was tempted to raise my arms into the sky. She was as infuriating as she was beautiful. “The night we fucked, Lia! You’ve been excusing yourself with that cheap story about not remembering anything but you do! You remember every fucking detail,” I emphasized each word, letting the weight of my emotions settle.
I watched as her cheeks reddened, a sign that my words had struck a nerve. She stood frozen in place, letting her arms fall to her sides. The air in the room crackled with the tension that had been building for weeks, and I knew that this time we were going to settle it down, for better or for worse.
“Okay, yes, I do remember!”
That was something. I let out a silent breath, grateful for the honesty. I had spent the whole night with her voice in my head, the way she had said those things to me the night before.
“And what the hell do you want me to do with that?” She retorted. “Shout it from the rooftops, write a book, maybe?”
I shook my head, trying to convey what I wanted to say.
“It’s not about that. It’s about the fact that we could have talked about it, about you and me, and you didn’t give me a single chance.”
“We did talk the morning after, Noah. I told you everything that there was to say. Why are you so stuck with the idea that we need to talk? What is it that you have to tell me? Because surely there has to be something if you’re so insistent.”
“I never wanted to lose you.” Desperation laced my words.
“I’ve heard that before.”
“Don’t be so damn condescending, Lia. Not with me. What happened wasn’t just my fault. It was yours, too,” I countered.
“Yeah, we were both drunk, and it happened. That’s it. You told me to pretend it didn’t happen. Okay. I’m coming to terms with it, and you said it wasn’t like it meant anything, so—”
“That’s not what I said,” I interjected.
“Well, it is what it was, then. It didn’t mean anything, and now you want—”
“Of course it meant something!” I exclaimed, my honesty catching her off guard. She looked frustrated, unprepared for the raw emotions I was laying bare.
“Look, Noah. I don’t know where you’re trying to get, but I’m paying for my mistakes, alright? So don’t worry.”
“Of course I worry. Fuck! That’s all I do! Worry about you! I’ve been worried about you since we were kids, and now just because we had drunk sex, we’re supposed to throw everything out of the window?” My voice rose with desperation, and that desperation traveled to her.
“Then stop! Just stop worrying about me! Stop thinking of me!”
“I can’t! Don’t you understand?! I can’t get you out of my head! And I need you to be here with me! I can’t stand the fucking thought of this life without you!”
The confession spilled out of me in broken pieces.
“You need to make that stop,”she said after a few seconds, lowering her voice, struggling to keep her composure and emotions. I could feel her heart shattering. I knew it was.
“Why should I? Because you’re really willing to give me up? Because you think you’re gonna be okay without me?” She knew I wasn’t talking about her agency as an independent woman. I was talking about us as the soulmates we were.
“I can try,” she replied, her voice a fragile promise.
“Bullshit,” I answered back, straightening up and fixing my hard gaze on her. I took two steps towards where she was standing. “You and I both know you don’t want that. So what is it? What is it, Lia? What’s that that scares you so much? And why? Why are you scared? And don’t give me that crap about jeopardizing our relationship, and don’t bring up the promise. Don’t you dare. We were just kids.”
“No, we weren’t. I was serious.”
So, she was still clinging to that. Why?
“Is that from where this is coming? The promise?” I asked, rising an eyebrow.
Her eyes were watering, the memories of our childhood, our struggles, the pain inflicted on her by her mother and then by the man she thought loved her. Everything was rushing to her mind, and her heart wasn’t taking it.
“Answer me, Lia.”
“No.”
“Yes, right now. I’m not letting you go. So be honest with me. Give me something, a reaction, scream, hit me. Do whatever you need but tell me why the fuck you’re so scared before I lose my fucking mind and—“
“Okay, you want me to be honest?” She straightened up, too, and I could finally see a resolve in her eyes. However, nothing would have prepared me for what she said next.
“I’m in love with you!” She shouted. “I’m fucking in love with you and I don’t want to be!”
She cracked.
Tears started streaming down her face as she pushed me, my limp body stumbling backward.
“Lia…” I whispered, trying to bring myself back to my senses. The words came out of me as if on autopilot. Everything that had been simmering inside of me the past weeks had now come to an end, only to be replaced by the realization that Liawas trapped in the same whirlwind of feelings I was. “It doesn’t have to be like that with us. We’re different and… I’m not like him. You know that.”
I couldn’t get a hold on myself. My arms were holding her, but I felt I was floating.
“This is so fucked up…” She whimpered.
Then, she struggled to remove herself from me, trying to get a grip on herself. She cleaned her eyes and nose with the back of her arm, and her watery eyes looked at me as if this was the moment in which she lost all hope.
“What am I supposed to do now?” Her voice trembled.
“We’re going to find it out together.”
“What do you mean?” She interrupted, her tearful eyes searching mine.
“If we… We could give it a chance.”
My words hung in the air. I could see her trying to process them, her emotions flickering across her face. Before I could gather the courage to elaborate, she stepped further back, shaking her head.
“I can’t risk it further than this, Noah. I’d rather have you like this, as fucked up as we are right now, than try something that could destroy us forever.”
“We’re not fucked up,” I ushered to correct her. “We’re just two kids that grew up, and all those ideas and perspectives we had of the future got shattered. That doesn’t mean that we’re fucked and that we don’t stand a chance. We’ve been there for each other since the beginning. It makes sense that we…”
That we fell in love.
Lia's head continued to sway, her internal struggle evident. This time, however, she approached, placing her hands on my chest with a soft touch. I wanted to drown in her scent and hold her, but I didn’t. I kept my arms at my sides as she looked up at me, her eyes red, the dark circles under them proof of her sleepless nights. Her cheeks were stained with the remnants of tears, and the silent communication between us seemed to speak more than we did.
The room held its breath as Lia and I stood there, suspended in a moment of realization.
“You’re the most important person in my life and I might be in love with you,” she said. I still couldn’t process the magnitude of her words. “But I rather see the world on fire than putting all those years, our history, at stake. I’m capable of damaging everything and everyone around me because I don’t know how to handle my emotions, but I’m not damaging us any further than this.”
With those words, she pulled away, leaving me reaching out for her touch, her warmth, her whole being. The emptiness she left behind was palpable, and for a moment, I stood there, grappling with the echoes of her honesty.
I let her go because I knew that was a battle I wouldn't win that day.
As she retreated, the door closed gently, sealing myself and my own feelings within the confines of the room. I spotted her iPad abandoned on the table, and I felt just the same: abandoned despite the sort of comforting warmth spreading through my chest at the knowledge that Lia had fallen for me.
