Rocket Raccoon's Knowhere Apartment

Copy the image above and use it here: https://renderstuff.com/tools/360-panorama-web-viewer/
His apartment is just a small bachelor apartment sized place, you can see in the holiday picture the worktable's edge on the right, and his bed on the left. The place looked way bigger in the Vol3 movie, but it's actually tiny. Am guessing the red door on the right leads to his bathroom.
The biggest thing in the apartment is the very nice big window, a feature of the whole place. Would be shame if anything happened to it- oh nooo!
Edit:
Sinikettu over at AO3 was helpful enough to point out stuff I missed and got wrong.
So that big gap on the left of the apartment isn't a door to the outside as I thought, it's just a section of the set that got moved, that's where the smaller window is that you can see in the background of the holiday image.
That means this bachelor pad doesn't even have a bathroom! It's just a small room with a kitchenette between the 'ship part bed' and the door to the outside.
Someone can try and do a layout if they want the challenge.

It’s kinda funny that Quill killed his Celestial Dad-Planet and still wound up living on a Celestial anyway.

Every morning, Mr. and Mrs. Obfonteri wake up in their cozy apartment
Kraglin turns on Knowhere Radio, which is basically just the Zune playlist on a loop
Nebula uses the spatula function of her arm to make breakfast
Kraglin asks the dog if she wants to go for a ride (she does)
Nebula commands them, in a voice of ice cold fury, to have a good day at work
Kraglin whistles the Yaka arrow into making a heart shape as he and Cosmo leave
Nebula puts on a nice hat and goes to her own job as a teacher of refugee children
You don't have to believe it but I do.

Knowhere
Masterlist
Words: 848
Summary: The Guardians of the Galaxy search for spare parts on Knowhere to fix the Milano, when a series of weird events unfolds and Peter meets someone else from Earth.
Tumblr media
The Guardians of the Galaxy were on a stroll through the bustling streets of Knowhere when they suddenly saw a pair of grumpy looking Ravagers strolling towards them. Peter, or rather Star-Lord as he proudly proclaimed, was leading the group in search for Cosmo. One of the Ravagers, a big brutish looking fellow with a shriveled face and a long strain of black hair at the top of his scarred skull, shoved Peter to the side, making everyone stop in their tracks.
"Ey earthling, are you the Star Born?", the Ravager grumbled, his eyes fixed on Peter's face as he snarled.
Peter was taken aback by the question, his pride scratched at the thought of one of Yondu's man miscalling him, Yondu's former favourite, but he quickly regained his composure. He had been a part of the Ravagers for many years, and it would come in handy, knowing how to handle tricky situations with morons like this. With a flick of his wrist, he pushed the Ravager's hand away and straightened his deep red leather jacket.
"Star Lord!", he huffed, "I thought you guys would at least know my name!"
“The boss told us it's a woman, you idiot!”, the other Ravager yelled and signaled his companion to move along, both of them trotting away, their heads hung low in annoyance.
The Guardians of the Galaxy were left standing there, looking at each other in confused amusement. Gamora was the first to speak up.
"What just happened? How could they mistake you, oh great Star Lord, for someone else?", she giggled mockingly.
Peter shrugged his shoulders, rolling his eyes. He knew she was just teasing him but a small part of him deep down still felt hurt.
"I have no idea. Maybe he's been living under a rock or something." Rocket interjected, "I wouldn't be surprised if they were all living under a rock. These Ravagers don't seem to know much about anything. I mean look at Quill", he guffawed, not even trying to hide his amusement at the sight Peter's grievously offended expression.
"Perhaps they were testing their knowledge of the names of the Guardians of the Galaxy.", Drax chimed in, “it is always remarkable to test your skills and knowledge alike as a warrior.”
Peter rolled his eyes.
"Testing their knowledge? Really Drax? Besides, everyone should know I'm the Star Lord. Guys we saved this galaxy, why does know one remember our names?”, he threw his arms up, looking at the others.
“I am Groot”, the tree spoke, glancing at Rocket.
“Groot says “talk for yourself, everyone knows my name”, the racoon crossed his arms, winking.
“I bet that is not what Groot said!”, Peter almost yelled, wondering how that little trash panda always managed his way crawling under his skin as soon as he opened his trap.
The group laughed as they continued their journey through Knowhere, leaving the Ravagers behind them. But as they walked, Peter couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if he had answered differently. Who was this Star Born that the Ravager was talking about, and why was he mistaken for him? Could it truly be someone else from earth. And they mentioned a...woman. Peter shuddered at the thought that a possibly good looking woman from earth might be walking around on the same spot in the endless universe as him in this very moment. He didn't know anything about her, not even if she's even real but he would definitely try and find her, and may it only to find someone who'd finally understand his references.
“Pyotr Quill, also named Star Lord,” a rough voice with a heavy Russian accent popped up in his mind as a golden retriever in an old Soviet spacesuit ran towards them, “Cosmo heard Star Lord thinking to Continuum Cortex”, he panted, wiggling his tail happily, “and Cosmo heard pesky raccoon's thought about broken ship.”
“Hey Cosmo, yeah sorry we jus-”
“No need to speak Pyotr Quill, Cosmo can read mind. Follow Cosmo, he knows where you can get spare parts for ship”, the dog interrupted Peter, turning around and ran off down the street.
Quill had seen his fair share of weird things in the galaxy, but a telepathically talking dog from the Soviet Union that could read minds was something else entirely. Despite coming from the same planet, the dog had little understanding of Peter's references but he liked him anyway. The friendly mutt spread warm feeling of home and kindled fond memories of his childhood, a rare occurrence here far out in the depths of space. Without any hesitation, Cosmo led them to a shabby metal hut three blocks away, well hidden behind one of the last corners of an empty street. The Guardians followed the talking dog, trying to keep up with his fast pace.
"Tell mechanic that Cosmo sent you and don't break anything.", the dog gnarled at Peter before disappearing around the next corner.
But as they entered the hut, they were greeted by the sight of dozens of machines whirring and buzzing away while some oddly familiar yet unknown tunes echoed from what looked suspiciously like an old earth radio.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3 Review
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️SPOILERS BELOW‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
This is not a simple overall review. It has specifics. If you haven’t watched the movie or don’t want to know what happens in it do not read this post.
—————
Originally, I thought I was going to be obsessed with Gamora in this movie. Just the idea that Gamora from 2014 is in 2025. Unsurprisingly, I was right. I loved Gamora’s storyline. Her finding a family with the Ravagers was unexpected but endearing. However, I didn’t really like how they kept insisting that she was the same person. I know Quill acknowledges it at the end quoting Rocket and everything but it didn’t feel that genuine. Probably because they ignored her every time she told them she was someone else and Quill’s apology was more about him saying goodbye then offending Gamora.
Nebula is one of my favorite Guardians and she was perfect in this movie. I was not expecting her to fight with Drax and Mantis as much as she did but it does make sense. Nebula only joined them on Titan and then spent five years with Rocket before the others came back. And while Peter and Nebula bonded over loosing Gamora, Mantis and Drax had nothing to connect them to Nebula. They are essentially new acquaintances/team members so Nebula doesn’t really know them and vice versa.
Speaking of Drax and Mantis, them acknowledging what they mean to each other at the end had me teary eyed. They are more like brother and sister than Peter and Mantis. But I guess in Peter’s defense he was more focused on Gamora and Yondu.
I couldn’t wait to see Adam. I didn’t think he was going to be the sweet goofball that he is but it’s great. I mean he’s essentially a grade schooler so. Something unexpected was the character change for Adam’s mom, the High Priestess. I wish they would have specified more the pressure they were under and their love for each other. It was present and clear but i think they could have added one more quick scene between them. The day before I watched the movie I saw a review where a person said that they thought Adam was a worthless character and if they removed him and changed the ending the movie would be the same. When i first watched this my immediate thought was “okay then Adam must add emotional plot” and I was right. I figured that was the situation simply because the creator of that video is male and sadly many people driven by the male gaze don’t register emotional plot (See all the people who shit talk Black Widow). I’m excited to see Adam’s story continue with the Guardians.
I literally gasped when Lylla said the story has always been about Rocket and when he did the whole “my name is” to the High Evolutionary.
I don’t know if the writers and James intended for this but Rockets childhood was so reflective of parental abuse it was crazy. I’m sure it was on purpose because it’s so obvious. The parent only wanting you to be prefect and only seeing you as an extension of their greatness. The drunken nights when they stumble into your room to talk about your future and success you’ll bring to them. And the physical fighting with the youngest sibling screaming on the sidelines. Crazy. So amazing really to see that showcased in cinema. Especially since Marvel likes to omit character childhood trauma. And if it is shown it’s usually glazed over. (See Tony Stark. Actually that scene where the High Evolutionary tells Rocket that they were never meant for the new world reminded me so much of Howard and Tony)
Honestly do not really care about seeing Quill again. To me he is the least interesting Guardian but I’m assuming that since he is now back on earth and he’s definitely not going to a nine-to-five that he’ll be on the new Avengers team and we’ll see him in Secret Wars (or Kang Dynasty, i can’t remember which is next). So there’s that.
To all the people giving Volume 3 a bad review simply because the tone was too serious, my one question is, what did you expect? We left these people just recovering from saving the world after 5 years of grief, one died but a “clone-like” version of them is walking around, and the story focuses on a member who was tortured and experimented into full existence. You should have known. Also i’d like to say it isn’t even like Love and Thunder where the serious and humor tones are unbalanced. They are both perfectly shown and timed in this movie. The humor is not at all missing.
Overall, beautifully shot and smooth cgi. Fight scenes were great, especially the one where they all entered the High Evolutionary’s Ship together. The music score was of course A-MAZ-ING! but they always kill it. I am definitely buying this record when it comes out so it can be with it’s siblings.

How does one work measurement of time in a city that floats in space with no sun to deem it day or night?
Knowhere is literally the city that never sleeps, as it has aliens from all walks of life with different sleep cycles living there.
The best I could figure it out for the average joe living there was that it could work on three 8 hour schedules, like 8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of work, 8 hours of rest.
But if someone could come up with a better measurement of time for Knowhere, or if there is like comic canon explanation, then I'm all ears for it.

A few days ago, I made a post about some of what could happen for Lorna with Fall of the House of X #2. I actually have more things I can say about it, I just stopped where I did cause I felt like I had already typed up quite a lot. More below.
According to Marvel wikia, Knowhere is currently in orbit around Jupiter. At its most basic, her powers could simply pull or push Knowhere from Jupiter to Earth. However, there's another possibility.
In X-Men The End, an AU comic, its versions of Lorna and Magneto worked together to create a wormhole linking two ends of the universe.
Tumblr media
Given there's already precedent in an AU comic, it's possible that Lorna could create a wormhole and pull Knowhere through that wormhole to get it to Earth. The AU comic had Lorna and Magneto working together, but who's to say 616 Lorna (as well as 616 Magneto) couldn't do such a thing alone?
Second, and this is something that my pointing it out doesn't automatically mean advocacy (my thoughts aren't settled on it any which way): Lorna's powers post-Decimation were restored with Celestial tech. And Knowhere is a Celestial head.
Now, an important thing to do as a reader in thinking about this is whether or not you accept the events of the most recent X-Factor.
If you do, then Lorna's died and been resurrected at least once, which means any technology she had in her body is no longer there. (Side bar: this also means the eye camera that Harrison Snow had surgically put in her eye, that hasn't been talked about since All-New X-Factor ended, is no longer there either).
If you don't accept the recent X-Factor, then all that technology is still there.
But, also depending on how you view Celestial tech, Lorna might have some knowledge or tools at her disposal to interact with the head that's unique to her. I use the term knowledge because maybe she doesn't have the physical tech inside her anymore, especially if she was resurrected. But maybe having that tech inside her made her aware of and able to access wavelengths that nobody else, including her father, could access. If this is the case, it would be necessary to reckon with why she never used them before, and there are plenty of possible explanations for that. Really just depends on where plans fit.
Okay, that wraps up this little addendum piece!

GOTG Christmas Special Review
I just saw the Christmas Special of Guardians of the Galaxy and I have to say it was so hilarious it should have been the third movie of the GOTG MCU series. But sadly it is considered to be a special to Disney.
A few things to note out:
1. The Kevin Bacon cameo. I love the every single moment of his on screen with Drax and Mantis.
2. The flashback animated scenes. In my opinion they were kind of bad but the story behind these flashbacks were amazing. Of course they’re not trying the same art style of What If... but hey who am I to judge? I don’t work for Disney.
3. The fact that Mantis is Peter Quill’s half-sister. To be honest, it actually makes a lot of sense when I think about it because why on Earth would Ego abduct a random girl and keep her in his celestial planet body thing and not impregnate her then kill her? But when she told us (and Quill) about her being an offspring of Ego, I knew everything was adding up.
4. Cosmo’s voice activation thing (I forgot what’s it called): I don’t know if my ears are playing tricks on me or if that was the intent but I could swear Cosmo sounds like a female. I really don’t have a problem with it but I guess the people working on the set might have heard it differently then the audience of the Christmas special. I’ll have to rewatch it again but if y’all want a TLDR: Cosmo’s voice sounds weird and I felt like it didn’t belong to Cosmo at all.
I’ll rate the GOTG Christmas Special a 8.5/10 for amazing humor, basic storyline of sister wanting to give her older brother the best Christmas he’ll have in his life, and the music. I love it when people make new music in the movies and I want to say that I want the soundtrack now. My mother (who was watching the special with me) also wants the Christmas Special Soundtrack but I guess I have to give it to her as this year’s Christmas gift (if I’m able to)
I know November is not over yet and Thanksgiving could be celebrated late for some families but dang it when I finished watching the special I knew I needed to write a review about this. If you ask, yes I’m now writing reviews now for any content from Star Wars, MCU, other Sci-Fi stuff no matter if it’s new or old. Currently I am working on beating Pokemon: Legends Arceus and I’m at the point where I’m close to finishing it so be on the lookout for that one.
