Fun fact: the idea that Jeremiah is in any way redeemable is literally something the actor himself disagrees with. In one interview he got this exact question, comparing the twins, aaand he said that that it's unclear if there's good in Jeremiah, but most importantly he just doesn't want to be redeemed because he doesn't think he is bad, so he is irredeemable by definition. Monaghan was unsure about Jerome though (cause he was a victim)

that's for sure interesting to learn(i don't particularly go searching for actor's opinions on things? it's not a habit) because i myself have played with the concept of the twins being each other's breaking point;

but in the sense of jeremiah's betrayal being the beginning of jerome's fall while jerome's push is the final nail in the coffin- as if when jeremiah says that jerome was born bad it is, ironically, the opposite and jerome himself has been made instead

i've said before to a couple of friends that, personally, what i think jerome craved the most was to belong somewhere, because in his life everybody keeps washing their hands clean off him and he rebels against it time and time again but he's so painfully drawn to the connections he still has, he either breaks them or sinks his teeth on them(for example: killing lila, taking to the role of a symbol, going after jeremiah...) so you can follow my thinking that his circumstances coupled with the violence he was brought in(and a couple more internal factors) shaped him;

i guess, that if that specific weakness and strength of his got targeted/nourished, you could break him to either side- it's just that he was doomed from the start as the narrative itself establishes

the thing is, i don't really care for redemption for either of them... it just doesn't hold any appeal to me, undoing their individual developments for the sake of what exactly? if jeremiah's born wrong and jerome's broken, fixing one would be pointless because the other would NEVER let go no matter which one... now, i do believe if they took different paths altogether in the beginning, they could be each other's pillars instead. it's just that the moment they've gone through certain changes? it's gone, they have to find something like peace as monstrous as they are(which i also believe is possible!)

see the thing abt sysmeds is that they sound exactly like the people a few years ago whining that you cant be trans without having dysphoria. its like these people think you have to be miserable all the time to be "valid". but i dont have (a lot) of dysphoria! i love being a system! i love my headmates!

I haven't been on this blog for a hot minute and only scrolled for a little bit, but I can already tell I'm just going to be adding to the choir

But essentially I'm not vibing with it anymore, I've been off the RT train for a few years already and in recent months I've really fallen off of AH too. For a while now they haven't brought me joy, there were only a couple series I kinda kept up with and then they abandoned their schedule and it got even harder to keep up with and the couple videos a week that I did watch were like. so easy to tune out, it just wouldn't grab my attention like they used to, which could be a testament to my own aging and sense of humor/mental health changing a lot these past few years rather than anything to do with their content.

But after the latest drama, I think I'm done. I unfollowed the channels I was still subscribed to and I unfollowed a bunch of the cast on Twitter and I think I'm just going to move on. I'll still listen to Red Web cause it's one of the few things from them that does still make me laugh and the stories are usually interesting.

I'm not going to delete this blog, there is still a lot of my writing here that I am proud of (even the stuff for CC, which I want nothing to do with anymore but most of it was in the FakeChop universe which always felt completely disconnected from the people it was based on to begin with).

not to be a critic of other people's perspective because i'm a firm believer that different interpretations of characters are what make fandom fun, but i personally will never understand the idea that Jeremiah is in any sort of way redeemable or good. which is a big part of Wayleska, from what i gathered, though there's darker versions out there.

it IS funny indeed, i mean they meet in That's Entertainment and 'click' right then(for Jeremiah at least), then we get it somewhat hinted that after Jerome's death they start working on building a respectable amount of Jeremiah's generators and the second they're ready to go he starts his debut performance as Joker. thing is that Xander('good') only ever interacts with Bruce in That's Entertainment— aside from then, the Laughing-Toxin's already poisoning his mind and making him Jeremiah('bad') through and through... assuming that the Toxin is the 'tragedy' of it all?

so, that potential friendship had the duration of ONE day which makes it even fucking funnier.
