Don’t think I ever quite said what my LGBTQ+ headcanons are for the boys, so these are my current thoughts! Always changing of course but this is what I feel most strongly right now.

Potato leek soup and some honey whole wheat bread from yesterday.

#they go very well together but not quite as good as if id made soda bread. the honey is a little too much for soup i think ?#was glad to try out the recipe tho. i wrote it up from memory for a friend and have been worried i was wrong #abt proportions and all but its fine.#tbh the way i cook is like. if the recipe require specific amounts of stuff and substitutes dont work #then im not gonna make it. im a #'throw stuff in a pot on autopilot' kinda guy. like with stuff like quiche especially #i dont HAVE a recipe i just do some stuff with what i have and then bam. delicious quiche every time #so... writing up recipes is a little difficult but im glad this one at least worked for me xD #cooking #baking #now all i need is some tea... too lazy tho

hmmm well i did very much enjoy the episode where Lassiter & Henry bond over fishing... i also like the episode where Shawn gets kidnapped & ends up on top of a moving car <3

#ive seen some episodes out of order #since my friend used choice ones to get me interested lol (it very much worked!)#but i only started watching it all the way through yesterday #so im only on season 2 :/#i also loved the one i just watched - the counterfeiting episode! twas funny #but really since im binging the show they're all kinda blending together lmao #And its mostly on as background so there are some where i have no idea what happened or what it was about #rambles from the bog #tbh a lot of the time watching it #i find myself sitting here and going: man. if it was made pretty much the exact same way just with today's climate #it wouldve been even fucking funnier #bc obviously the humor in the show is kinda Dated! there's a lot of times where im sitting here going 'oh that was bad taste'#or 'oh that would Not fly today'#but it is a really good show #easier to enjoy when you understand the era it was made in & accept that there's gonna be unsavory bits #honestly its interesting! im on s.2 which was released in 2007 i think #and i believe i was like... around five years old? i dont really remember Living the time period!#so its interesting to see! its a whole different range of slang and american culture & tech!#all i really remember is the phones... i remember the awe when someone at school turned up with a touchscreen #they were pretty fuckin new so they were expensive & my parents could afford one #so my first phone was your average flip phone. it served its purpose! i loved listening to the ringtones! that was my spotify <3 #anyway wait fuck what were we talking about #OH RIGHT PSYCH. um. yes🤝#i dont like shawn's dad! lassiter is probably my favorite! i may have a crush on juliet! shawn is the most bishrekxual man i have ever seen #gus deserves better & more screen time! the whole show is just really good #*old man voice* they just dont make em like they used to....#said both positively and negatively. some aspects are good they're gone. other aspects... sigh

i find dennis' toxic love for the gang sooo interesting. the lengths he goes through to ensure that their group dynamic never changes. the amount of planning he puts in implies that this is one of his fears– how they might one day change and abandon him.

an example of this would be in "frank retires" where he had formed the franquito plan seven years before he needed to use it, which felt devious (towards frank) to charlie, dee and mac, but dennis had justified it by saying he just didn't want them to change. the ending had dennis acting like he didn't mean a word he said, but i doubt it, because just a few episodes before (the gang misses the boat) he concluded that he just wanted things to stay normal in the gang after a minor freakout about how they're all gradually getting more and more insane staying in the bar together.

dennis resisting change is a consistent theme for his character. he does not want the gang to live in virtual realities, charlie to get smart, mac and dee to leave, mac's mom to stay with them, mac to connect with his dad, dee to actually be successful, mac to be so forward in his advances, frank to retire, etc etc. because he already likes the gang so much the way it is.

that is, unless he personally seeks the change. he could get married in a day, because he wanted to. he could kick mac out. he could leave the gang and start a family. he could change his car to a more modern one. but each time he tries to change and leave, he comes back to the gang... and his range rover.

and this is why he seems to hate them too, because most of his hatred comes from his resentment from loving them too much and being unable to leave. and the love he has for them is toxic, because he wants to drag them down together with him. the s13 narrative wants us to know that he's the main reason the gang stays the same for 16 seasons.

it's what makes dennis takes a mental health day so notable to me though. the commentary on systems throughout the episode, and how dennis is sick of it. dennis' rejection of technology when it takes away real life interactions, parallels the episode "charlie rules the world" in s6 which was the major turning point for dennis developing a god complex (where british dennis tells him that 'you create your own reality'). i believe dtamhd will also be a turning point for dennis, perhaps where he starts letting things go without putting as much control (systems) because he wants to live in a reality where he doesn't need to do these things anymore.

#probably has been said before too lmao #like u see. he isnt against technology when it gets him and his friends closer #like a modern tv is cool #bc he could watch shows w his buddies #a groupchat is annoying but fine too #he was glued to his phone in mac n charlie writes a movie but it was ultimately to write his own movie for the gang #like dennis loves the gang so much eventho he would neveeeeer admit #like yeah hes using them too but he loves hanging out w them #also kinda made me think of the johnny thingy #imo just another example of the lengths dennis goes through to make sure their dynamic doesnt change tbh #bc as we know it mac is actively searching for boyfriends himself which is a no no #bc if dennis isnt there to actively monitor the progress of the relationship then itd be jover for him if mac leaves him for his bf #and thats why seeking a bf for mac is ok bc he has already inserted himself into the relationship as a middleman and can monitor it #and yeah catfishing mac is even better bc hed be in full control to make sure the relationship doesnt progress #he is also in love w mac but thats another convo #wait why did the tags slowly become mcdn... uh #whatever #iasip posting #dennis reynolds

Oh dear...

Alex is attending one of the most prestigious magic academies in the country, on the orders of his parents of course. Even though Laiz Fier Academy reviles even the name of the only type of magic he's ever been good at. His parents swore he'd find another specialty here, and he'd let himself believe them, like the idiot he is. He's scraping by in classes. Barely. At least he's managed to make a couple of friends and figure out how to sneak into the library stacks to find books that will actually help him hone his skills.

However, Alex realizes now there's a reason why it's not recommended to do your first summoning alone. Because, while he does manage to summon a demon, it doesn't exactly end up in the silvery urn he'd laid in the center of the pentagram.

So now he has a talking, demonic Furby to hide. One that, despite its too-wide eyes and disconcertingly smooth voice, Alex thinks he might be developing feelings for.
