Uberhood (60) - Landgraab

Malcom Landgraab proposed to Marissa Cleveland during their fancy dinner date at Londoste in downtown.

Their wedding took place in spring and it was a big event nobody wanted to miss. Many high-carat sims were there like the Roths, Rutherfords, DeBateaus, Upsnotts etc.

Brittany Upsnott brought her friend, Heather Huffington, to the wedding with her and it seems like she met an eligible bachelor there. Armand DeBateau is still single and I'm struggling to find someone for him. Samantha Cordial married Gabriel Green, Kimberly Cordial married Geoff Rutherford and since Armand had such an awful marriage with Jessica Peterson I want him to be with someone he can grow old with. Sadly Heather Huffington isn't any better than Jessica in my game so I guess that's not an option.. they seem to get along tho. We'll see.

Tara: I used to live in a castle. Penthouse suite? Ever heard of it? I had a king size bed and a gym and -- Kimberly: Pffft, that wasn't a castle! You had a landlord, it wasn't anything you owned! The bed was a rental, sweety. Tara: I know you're a witch. I saw your voodoo doll. Kimberly: And the cauldron and herbs. Glad you catch on to common things around the house. Tara: So, you admit it? You're a witch. Kimberly: Soon I'll be an Atrociously Evil Witch. I can turn you, if you'd like. Tara: No, thanks.

in case you were wondering and don't have the time to look at my barely comprehensible spreadsheets (understandable), the only playable woman with the knowledge aspiration in the base game is indeed olive specter. circe has a hidden knowledge token but that means literally nothing it's just a fun fact. including all the main hoods, the only fem knowledge sims are the aforementioned ms. specter, opal contrary, samantha & kimberly cordial (who were almost def intended to be popularity sims before maxis realised that they had to be knowledge otherwise they'd react negatively to becoming witches) and tara debateau, who is also the only teenager from a main hood with the knowledge aspiration. there's also faith goodie who is technically an occupant of the magic stealthhood but she is vaguely associated with a main hood so she gets a mention. but if you're like me and 95% of your love for this game is directed towards strangetown then yeah it is just olive. sorry </3

On the day Patricia is set to leave for college, Henry Greenman appears on her doorstep. They're not-quite-dating, and Patricia seems to have forgotten about Henry completely. Well, he's here to remind her! Henry is a good boy, but maybe meeting Patricia's dad while not wearing a shirt isn't the best move....

The Cordial's Honeymoon + High School Graduation Vacation!

It wasn't Tara's idea AT ALL to share her graduation gift with her father and stepmother. She would have rather stayed on the other side of the island. She loves her dad dearly and if anything, a few more moments with him before uni is time well spent!

Tara: this is the worst. No straightener, no privacy, and watching my dad make out. Send me home, please.

Watcher: Kimberly, are you okay? 🚼 Armand, outside the bathroom: I've called the maid, don't worry about any mess, just take rest.

Kaylynn Langerak gets a free vacation to the island after getting an emergency work visa. Nice!

Meanwhile, Tara proves sims can really do anything when they put their mind to it. She makes walking on water look so easy!

Kimberly doesn't want the vacation ruined and powers through the nausea, convinced it's just the Luau Ribs from earlier.

She and Tara bond over playing pirates and meeting the Captain! They join together for an uproarious rendition of the Sea Chantey.

Armand: how are you and Kimberly getting along? Tara: She's all right, I never did not like her, Dad. Armand: Well, she likes you. You two have a lot in common. Tara: Doubt it 🙄

Armand still hasn't quite grasped the concept of fishing, apparently. It also seems that Kimberly has grasped the idea of being pregnant! She and Armand have been thinking and talking nonstop about it.

Tara and Kimberly become best friends over the course of the vacation. Both of them pulling only boots out of the ocean (Armand caught three fish! Must have been casting for hotdogs earlier that gave him the practice he needed). They also learned how to Hula Dance.

Kimberly: I think we can do this without help. What do you think? Tara: Oh, yeah, totally!

Time to go home! The gang puts on their BDC attire and heads back to the Cordial Home. Promptly upon arriving, Tara starts gossiping about Buck Grunt (one of her BFFs) and how she wants him... dead? Jeez, Tara...

And so, we wave goodbye to Tara as she heads out the door to start a new adventure at University!

Kimberly is suddenly awoken by a bump in the night. Her first trimester! Armand was so excited; he woke up and immediately went to feel for the baby. He's too precious.

Later in the morning, Kimberly began the thousand-year-old ritual. The First Warlock of the Cordial name would be born. In the dead of Winter he will arrive and become the most atrocious, most evil Warlock to ever live.

I keep playing and taking notes on my latest modern Ubermegahood, and then just... not posting anything. So here we go, I want to try and catch up. Hope somebody’s interested!

(I also have a Lake Buena Vista post to make sometime soon, and still need to get both the colonial-start-BACC-through-time I got so excited about and the Megakingdom CC-cleared. The former needs to have a lot more cleared out and installed, the latter... well, there is a potential culprit I am hoping might eliminate all crashing, but it’s really exhausting to do endless testing on that beast, so I keep putting it off. Not abandoned, just set aside for a bit.)

Anyway, the Ubermegahood! When last I posted, I was still way back in Belladonna Cove, on the Cordial sisters!

Cordial, Summer/Fall 2001:

 I was hoping one of them would get a witch-related LTW, but no such luck. Kimberly wants to become a Media Magnate, and Samantha wants to Achieve Maximum Lifetime Happiness–at least with her, I have a valid reason to add a secondary aspiration and test out my trait-based aspiration choosing method!

They became Evil and Good witches respectively, and Samantha successfully got engaged to Armand DeBateau and began training her powers, but Kimberly struggled with her Grumpy trait leaving her in a foul mood in no shape to get a new job. At one point, I tried resetting her, which unfortunately also reset her witch status and I had to give it to her again. She’s doing okay now–I temporarily removed the Grumpy trait and rolled her a random new one, and I’ll have to see if adding Smarter EP Check helped anything before I really decide what to do. Oh, and Samantha quickly got a Secondary Aspiration: Family.

Kimberly: Grumpy, Unflirty, Loner, Rebellious, Irresistible

Samantha: Daredevil, Loves the Outdoors, Over-Emotional, Socially Awkward, Loser

And to keep the ball rolling, here’s the next family, the Patels!

Both Ana and Ramir rolled normal boring career LTWs; I might have considered changing it but then Ana gave birth to QUADRUPLETS. I had my hands plenty full just juggling four baby girls and still getting Ana and Ramir to their jobs (did manage to get them moved to their dream career tracks, though!). They hired a nanny to help out in the evenings, and did pretty well all things considered. At one point, something glitched with the spiral stairs in their apartment preventing their use, and when I used the stuck object remover I couldn’t replace them… whoops. That was just one day until Winter, though, so I moved them to a house, played them one day, and then advanced the season to Winter to get them back on track. The girls are technically the first sims born in-game, with their birthday of Fall 1 2001 beating the Cleveland twins’ Fall 4 and Ruth Gavigan’s Fall 5. I think Pascal’s alien child might be due a little earlier, but we’ll see how the timing works out for everybody. I really do love keeping track of Actual Birthdates like this, even though it is going to get complex and confusing when sims start going to college and I have to figure out what days of the week to add each sim to make it work.

...and now I’ve realized I took virtually no pictures of them. I AM SUCH A GOOD SIMMER.

That’s all for this post. I’ll be able to get through the next several quickly, as long as i actually get around to posting anything. I’ve already played through the Peterson, Green/Gere, Riley & Cho, Baldwin, DeBateau, and Rutherford/Weir households completing Belladonna Cove, and in Desiderata Valley the Kim, Mole, Contrary, Joqcue, Bell, Aspir, and Una households--all that’s left in DV is the two bin families I moved in there, the Picasos and Julian Cooke. I got very very far ahead!

I have also been getting unreasonably excited about the prospect of setting up Simlogical schools for the children and teens to attend, and am keeping an eye out for prospective principals and teachers. So far, being unsure community lot schools can operate unowned, I think I might end up having wealthy elders be principals--say, Mortimer Goth, and Betty Goldstein or Catherine Viejo, maybe--and sims in the Education career will be be teachers. Ana Patel is already gonna be one. I’m really excited about having all the premades attend school together! I don’t know how to make this work but I also want to have the high school have seasonal events--a fall pep rally (since I really don’t think a sporting event is particularly doable), a winter band concert, a spring formal dance, and a summer field trip. But we’ll see how well that works out, I have no idea how to do these at all!

In reality, Kimberly wasn't yet as powerful as Samantha and Tara feared, but she was trying her best to learn actual destructive spells. Her favourite pastimes included flying to the park and pranking innocent bystanders.

She didn't always get away with it though, but she brushed it off.
