BnHA Chapter 407: Wait Why Are You Running Away

Previously on BnHA: Kacchan figured out how to control his quirk upgrade and was totally chill and normal about it. Definitely not terrifying at all. He actually spent the entire chapter smiling and laughing like the wholesome little boy he is. I don’t know why Kid For One is so freaked out about it. He even politely introduced himself using his childhood nickname. Clearly he just wants to be friends with you, KFO!

Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “sorry to keep you waiting, here’s the AFO and Yoichi flashback you ordered at long last” and proceeds to serve a nightmarish stew of HUMAN MISERY and RATS and STABBING and CARNAGE and SO MUCH MURDER and THE SINGLE MOST FUCKED-UP CASE OF CODEPENDENCY ANYONE HAS EVER WRITTEN. I was not even remotely prepared for any of this, and if anyone else claims that they were, I will call you a liar to your face. If this chapter had a mouth it would scream. Or just sob, ceaselessly and uncontrollably. I’m really glad Horikoshi is on break next week because that man needs to take a fucking nap. My god.

anyone else read the first two words and just immediately say to themselves, “oh okay, so it’s gonna be one of those chapters”? I mean, I guess we were due for a darker chapter after last week’s Kacchan Comedy Tour. but idk, I just wasn’t expecting “homeless sick prostitute with a drinking problem” levels of dark

the lil baby arm covered in blood with the AFO hole on the palm. lying next to the dead mom hand. what an image to sear into our minds. I guess it’s been a while since he killed any dogs. gotta keep us on our toes somehow

also wasn’t expecting AFO and Yoichi to be twins! that puts an interesting spin on their relationship, because it’s usually a closer bond than even regular siblings. especially with all of that delightful shared trauma from a young age!!

so the narrator is saying that some of the quirks manifested later in life, in “pubescent and pre-pubescent stages”, which is interesting because it’s the first time I can recall hearing about someone actually manifesting a quirk that late. maybe Deku’s old OFA cover story was more plausible than I realized

anyway so eventually it occurred to everyone that they should maybe freaking study this shit, idk. and eventually the researchers concluded that the superpowers came from a new gene that apparently isn’t human. and upon hearing that, society apparently lost its freaking mind. which is fascinating to me because it implies that the turning point wasn’t actually the superpowers themselves, but the realization of what it meant

like, so they were apparently fine with it when they thought it was a “mysterious disease”, but somehow it hit different when they learned it wasn’t actually a sickness at all, but instead the Next Step in Evolution. and it became an “us vs them” thing, as opposed to a “we have to cure these poor people” thing. damn

anyway so now Japan is a dystopia and we’re cutting to a big crowd of merc-looking dudes who are getting ready to attack some “meta freaks”, how lovely

BABY YOICHI. OH MY GOD. HOW THE HELL DID YOU GROW UP TO BE SANE AND KIND AND GOOD. THAT’S MY QUESTION THAT I NEED ANSWERED RIGHT NOW. YOU ARE LITERALLY A MIRACLE. YOU ARE AN IMPOSSIBILITY, DO YOU KNOW THAT

small and weak, but also so, so cute. all of the cuteness genes went straight to him. no wonder AFO was jealous

(ETA: just want to press pause for a second to speculate about what type of twins AFO and Yoichi are, since it has some relevance to the story, and especially to the OFA/AFO quirk lore. so! at first glance the two of them would appear to be fraternal twins, just based on the fact that they have very different appearances, and also the fact that Yoichi doesn’t have the AFO quirk – no holes in his hands, etc. identical twins are born from the same fertilized egg, so in theory they would both have the same sequence of DNA, which means Yoichi would have had the same quirk as AFO. but that doesn’t appear to be the case. so all of that points to them being fraternal, not identical.

on the other hand, there is one piece of evidence in this chapter that does support them being identical twins, and that’s the fact that per the narration, AFO absorbed most of the nutrients from their mother. a few minutes of google fu informed me that this condition is relatively rare, and only happens in cases where two twins share a placenta, which typically is only the case for identical twins. HOWEVER, for what it’s worth, there have also been rare instances where two fraternal twin placentas fuse together and become a single placenta. AND this apparently also increases the chances of one of the twins gaining more of the nutrients and causing the other twin to have a lower birth weight.

so based on the evidence here, my conclusion is that the two of them are most likely fraternal twins with a case of placental fusion. besides, you can’t tell me that stealing his baby brother’s placenta while the two of them are literally still in the womb doesn’t sound like exactly the type of BS that fetus!AFO would pull, lol.)

I genuinely couldn’t ask for a better AFO backstory. it’s so incredibly twisted, and you actually do feel sorry for him. or at least I do. but it’s also beyond clear that this kid was FUCKED UP BEYOND ALL REASON right from the get go. zero goodness in him. literally doesn’t see other people as people. sees them as possessions only. things to rule over. not other thinking, feeling human beings. and that includes his own little brother

but. even if it’s not actually what I would call love, there’s still... attachment, there. it’s the closest he can get to actually caring about someone. guh. just, somehow they have both managed to humanize him, and at the same time made him less human than ever. this manga, man. this fucking manga, though

one teeny-tiny boy with one too many identity is what fushiguro megumi is - until he isn't. with lots and lots of sniffles and sniggers...

"yeah, yeah, i've got it all planned."

a discreet eye roll is all megumi gives as he goes through the menu card in his hands. a little distance away, he can spy tsumiki and you seated at a table, you tying his sister's long hair into braids while the latter laughs, probably at a joke you cracked.

a tiny smile rests on the little boy's face at the sight - which vanishes when he feels a large hand tousle his hair. you had spent hours and hours righting his hair into a proper shape; why must this idiot always mess everything up?

megumi looks up to find his guardian looking down at him with a shit-eating grin; though he can clearly see the nerves it's covering.

idiot.

phone wedged in between his ear and shoulder, gojo mutters a "one sec, suguru," and crouches down to the boy's eye level. the latter gives back an unimpressed stare.

"decided what you wanna have, 'gumi? remember mom and sis there asked you to choose for them today."

megumi feels an urge to say you two aren't his real parents - but stamps it down instantly. the both of you have been as good as real parents can be to their kids - or maybe even better. the boy has read books, watched movies and listened to his classmates talk about their families; the tiny urchin-head knows.

with a huff, he points at the double chicken fillet burger box - it's tsumiki's favourite and you too don't seem to dislike it. with a nod, gojo rises and placing his orders, returns to the call, beaming expression again directed at megumi.

"yeah, yeah, don't worry, man," he speaks into the phone, then drops his volume to a mere whisper, "'my little kiddo here is a born actor. he remembers the entire plan, step by step - don't you, buddy?"

megumi gives an imperceptible nod, itching back to get back to the table. he already would have - needless to say, the little munchkin prefers your company to gojo's, way way more - but their orders have not been delivered yet and the boy promised to be-

a little tap on the shoulder draws him from his musings and he cranes his neck up to find gojo frowning. "no, megumi didn't want to discuss the plan with me before leaving. no, he doesn't like you better- hey," the man looks at him, sunglasses sliding down the bridge of his nose revealing his indignant gaze, "you wanna discuss with uncle suguru one last time?"

an indifferent shrug is all the reply he gives.

while uncle suguru isn't the best uncle he has, he isn't the worst either. the others are- oh, wait. the others include uncle kento and uncle yu. they are literal angels compared to him. so... maybe... he is the worst... never mind. it's too late to back out anyways.

grumbling, gojo hands him the phone. "hello uncle," megumi greets just like you and tsumiki have taught him to. the man behind mutters something along the lines of ''traitor" or something; the boy pays him no mind.

"hey champ," the voice floats over the line, pleasant, kind and the way people talk to babbling babies. megumi's bored face turns irritated. "let's discuss the semantics one last time before boarding your flight, okay?"

"yeah, okay," megumi says, and casting a sideways glance at his bundle-of-nerves guardian, continues, "we're going to reykjavik," he looks at gojo, silently asking if he pronounced it correctly. the man sends him a thumbs-up with an encouraging grin.

the kid continues, "the plane will land at noon day after tomorrow, which is mom's birthday. first, we will go to the hotel. then, after resting, in the evening, we will head out in a car to watch the northern lights. and then-"

"-when it's the right moment, your dad will pop the question to your mom and you'll click the camera. got it, mr. future ringbearer?" finishing the rest of the sentence for him, the man at the other end asks, sounds of pans clacking and food sizzling in the background. nana-chan and mimi-chan must have woken up.

megumi nods. "yeah, got it, mr. future best man."

a chuckle comes in response to his comment. "you're a lot like your mom, y'know?"

"yeah," he mumbles, waving back to you and tsumiki, a little smile on his otherwise-impassive-but-always-adorable face, "i know."

"good," the man says, then pauses when a loud crash booms through the air and through the phone, a set of two wailing voices following it not soon after. megumi can quite literally picture the wincing frown his uncle is wearing as he says the next words in a hurry, "okay, 'gumi. talk to you later. bye, and best of luck! satoru's counting on his little assistant."

"yeah, thanks," he responds but is too late - the call is already cut by then.

giving the phone back to gojo, who's tapping his sneakers-clad feet on the floor, he looks back ahead, wondering when the hell heck their token number will be displayed and when they will get their food.

to the kid's great relief, it doesn't take a lot of time.

before long, the four of you are seated around the table, gojo stealing a sip from your drink and you stealing fries from him, all the while tsumiki giggles loudly at your antics. megumi smiles, before he hides it behind the burger which he takes a bite from.

the four of you really look like a family, don't you?

"hey, guys, can i have your attention for a sec, please?" your sudden question startles him from his mind. the boy turns to find you with your usual grin, albeit a smidgen of anxiety can be found in the way your fingers drum on the table.

megumi shares a look with tsumiki and gojo. they look as confused as he feels. "do i have your attention, people?" you ask again, manner growing a tad solemn unlike your usual, though the affection is still evident in your tone.

gojo and tsumiki nod immediately. you turn to him, gently smiling, "can i have your attention too, 'gumi? please?"

the boy nods his head instantly. "yeah, yeah. sure," he replies, scooting his chair closer to yours. you send him a relieved smile. "good, 'cause what i'm going to say next is very important. so, listen to me carefully, 'kay?"

all three of them are eager to nod in affirmation and anticipation.

scouring through your backpack, you retrieve a couple of pretty important-looking papers, and placing them back on the table, clasp your hands atop them. the kid spots gojo shoot you a worried look to which you respond with a reassuring smile.

the man's frown fades a little.

gaze now darting from one kid to another, you begin, "you two know, right, we love you very much?"

"yeah!" tsumiki exclaims, but is quick to fall silent when megumi shoots her a glare. you proceed, lips pressing into a thin line, "but we cannot adopt you two, in spite of how much all us want it to happen. we tried to, many, many times. but those higher-ups just won't let us do that."

a second passes - one wherein his young brain registers your words - before, lower lip wobbling, the boy casts his gaze down upon his light-up sneakers.

is this where you'll say he'll be sent to those zen'ins? away from his sister? away from you and gojo? away from all his uncles, aunts, nana-chan and mimi-chan?

megumi feels a hand card through his locks gently. looking up, he finds you with a soft smile. "but the thing is 'toru and i didn't let them defeat our purpose. we thought, you two can choose to be my clan's wards. not 'toru's, because of fucking - sorry, please forget i said that word - i meant, idiotic clan politics. so, what do you think?"

megumi turns to his sister, a pensive look plastered on her face the way it is on his. gojo adds, a tender smile in place of his usual stupid grin, "no pressure, kids. the both of us won't love you two any less and will be equally fine in case you choose not to."

"you guys can take how much ever time you need to think. there's no hurry," megumi hears you say, your warm hand rubbing circles on his back, as he turns back to his half-eaten burger.

a long moment passes.

passengers enter the cafeteria, they leave the cafeteria. the four of you remain seated, quietly munching on your food.

the boy finally removes his gaze from his now-empty tray and sends an inquiring, confused, hopeful look to his sister. tsumiki smiles back with a tiny nod. the little kid feels his heart burst with joy.

"we want to," the two of them answer in unison, and within a fraction of a second, megumi finds himself swept up in a warm hug alongside his sister, by you. "thank you for giving me, for giving us a chance," he hears you mutter quietly in a tear-choked voice. the boy simply pats your back the way you do to him. he soon feels another set of arms wrap around the three of you.

megumi thinks he has never felt happier or safer than in this moment.

a while passes with the four of you in this manner, enwrapped in an embrace, before you all finally pull away from each other.

the boy returns to his seat, rubbing his eyes. a minute passes in composing all of yourselves before you state, munching on another fry, "so, step one, including tsumiki and megumi into my legal family is done and successful. thank you, my loves."

tsumiki beams back at you; megumi returns a tiny smile. you grin at them - which, the kid watches, turns slyer as you switch your focus to your boyfriend.

the little boy stares at you, then stifles a snicker - he thinks he has a pretty good idea of what's gonna happen next. his gut instincts are rarely wrong, after all.

"but, 'toru..." you drawl, grin giving way to a smirk as gojo smiles back - perplexed but loving all the same. "for the step two, making you my legal family too, guess i need to wait to say 'yes' until the northern lights viewing two days later... don't i?"

a beat passes, then another, and another.

a loud gasp sounds from tsumiki. megumi turns to his dad - who's gaping wide-eyed at his mom now, the man's face whiter than his ugly hair - and smirks. just like the imp the goggles-wearing idiot always calls him at home, despite you repeatedly telling him not to.

gojo looks back at him, shock written on, engraved into his features.

"though i didn't really help you propose, i'm still the ringbearer, right?"

lol okay so on twitter there's that dunmeshi post of "anime only are in the WTF area" and then a qrt explaining how "Oh but its so good bc its not the problematic kind of wtf"

like I'm so sick of that narrative that you can only like something because its not "problematic"

Like it really is a matter of perspective with dunmeshi which arguably isn't like....raunchy or crass or torture porn. But its appropriately violent for something dealing with magic similar to how you read a fairy tail in its original source and its like...wow this shit is dark and violent. But its not JUSt that.

But even if it WERE "problematic" should you not watch something because of that?? Stop being such fucking cowards when it comes to media. Just enjoy something because YOU enjoy it not because you got the Moral Police Seal of Approval from a bunch of teenagers who are still figuring THEMSELVES out. Or from weird adult people on the internet who feel like its their duty to police what everyone else does because of some misguided responsibility to make sure "The kiddos are okay"

Enjoy fucked up media. OR DON'T. But stop letting people on the internet tell you whats okay to watch and whats not. Imagine if for whatever reason a bunch of people decided that DunMeshi was BAD because of what happens to Senshi (I'm trying not to spoil the story lol). OH ITS SO BAD AND PROBLEMATIC YOU SHOULDN'T WATCH IT BECAUSE OF THAT.

What a waste that would be.

The reason these horrible censorship laws get traction is because they ALLOW this narrative to play out online and spark a bunch of discourse over who can woohoo who or what kind of media is OKAY or BOOKS SHOULD HAVE TAGS or shit like that. And all of that gets turned into keeping stories form being told that aren't fucking BORING or vapid or tasteless because we've blocked all forms of "problematic" content.

anyway watch Dungeon Meshi its a lot of fun but watch it because you want a fun fantasy anime(read the manga too!) and not because it gets a gold star from the morality police

You might as well complain about the artist or mangaka who made nsfw manga about underage anime characters. Honestly, i bet they didn't even bat an eye on your comment. It is what they do for a living or maybe for some, a side income. Honestly,you criticise them when it should be the one who read or buy those nsfw manga. Be honest with me, do you think there will exist an nsfw manga about some underage anime characters if no one ask for it? You are still a minors then act like it. Get out of this app if you didn't want to see it. The artist who does it need the money to make a living, to live. It's was the same with sex workers, they may or may not enjoying it but it was their way to make a living. Don't critisice them. You prove you are a minor with your stuck-up brain. You still got a lot learn,kiddo.

first of all most of theses adults writing smut for minors are not doing this for a living. most of them already have lived and jobs. so i don’t not understand why you bring this up. sex workers are not having sex with minors are they? and yes manga creators who make nsfw manga for under age character are BAD. but you say this is their source of income. but if they can make an nsfw manga for underage characters that’s a CHOICE. they could make one about adult anime characters. so manga creators creating underage manga characters for nsfw is a CHOICE. they could still make money with adult anime characters. and again i still do not understand why you are brining this up. because like i said most of these writers writing smut for minors are doing this as a CHOICE. not for commissions that will bring them money because they need. also yes, even if no one asked for it, nsfw mangas for underage characters will still exist without people asking for it. why? because some people are simply sick pieces of shit who are choosing to write about minors. and the fact that they are writing nsfw shit for underage characters because the public is asking for it is not better. they could simply choose not to and target another audience who want something else and it still brings in money. after all it is always a choice. it always is. being disgusting and writing/drawing weird shit about minors is a choice. as a source of income or not. because drawing/writing these things are not the only options. you could draw normal things and their are still people willing to pay. you can still make money. and AGAIN the adults i’m calling out for writing smut for MINORS and “aging them up” are NOT doing this for money.

infodump more about welt suffering and welt in general. please?

I've played quite a bit of HI3 and have been playing HSR, which made me finally interested in welt. the gravitas of his eng VA's voice his chef's kiss - I think he's one of the few characters who doesn't sound like "I'm reading this from a paper in a studio" in english - and I dig his design and powers. but what side material do I actually read to get welt lore? there's so much manga and I've only seen screenshots

ASK ABOUT WELT AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE!

Quick side topic about his English VA. I love how it fits Welt so well, in my opinion. I play Impact 3rd with CN dub, but for Star Rail he doesn’t have the same CN voice actor so it threw me off at first, but I gotten use to it after I tried to stop associating with another Impact 3rd VA.

I am putting this here already, this is gonna be very short explanation. Is this post short? No absolutely not, but I’m trying to cut details to try and make it short as I can and have it make sense.

Let us start off with some basic information about Welt Yang and now he inherited the name plus the Herrscher of Reason core.

Before there was Welt Yang, there was Welt Joyce, the first Herrscher of Reason. Sadly Impact 3rd does not explore much of Joyce, and most of the information on him, Otto, Anti-Entropy, and even about Tesla and Einstein is all a Visual Novel that never got a true English translation. However, it did get fan translations and oh goodness it’s a lot there. We will speak only of the information we got about Welt Yang from this Visual Novel.

Around the time this VN takes place Welt Yang is 8 years old since it’s 1955. He is the kiddo in the middle, and man oh man he went through a lot!!!

Welt’s dad, Elias Nokianvirtanen, really did care for Welt. He would often travel with his dad who was working for Schicksal.

There is important information to note, and if I don’t explain it I feel like so much will be lost and the reason all of this is important. There are two major groups at the time (1955). Schicksal and Anti-Entropy (AE). At first AE was just the Northern American branch, and there was a lot of tension between the two. After a bit of… fighting, they did manage to make Anti-Entropy.

The reason they were with the AE, was because Elias was forced to sabotage AE because Otto was threatening Welt’s life.

Than there is Welt Joyce. Welt Joyce is one of my personal favorite underrated characters, and the way Joyce really wanted to protect humanity tells you everything.

Now what does these gentlemen have in common-? Their deaths are connected to Otto. Otto killed Elias due to the reason he was there slipped, and Joyce risked his life to protect New York from being nuked by Otto.

At this time as Welt was trying to help Joyce, Joyce asked him what he thought of the name Welt. Welt mentions he likes it, and Joyce not only passed on the name Welt, but also the Herrchser core.

Now, here is where we get to the fun bits. Fun fact: in the manga Second Eruption, Otto was legit like flabbergasted. Cause you know, THE FACT HE KILLED IS SUPPOSEDLY ALIVE. Only than to see it wasn’t Welt Joyce, but someone else and this manga just really shows you how strong Welt can be.

Now in Second Eruption, their goal at the start was just “hey we need to find this new herrchser.” So guess what? They gotta work together a bit. There was a small comment that I feel gets over looked and that is, Otto never really taught Siegfried or Theresa how to use their divine keys, and Welt made a small jab at this. I don’t hear people really mention this, and I don’t know why it is such a small fact I love to bring up.

There is a really important fight scene that happens among these pages/chapters between Welt and Sirin. Here we get to see more of what Welt can do as the HOR, which is once he learns the structure of a human creation, he can make a cope with honkai energy. Now I don’t wanna go to much detail into this fight cause how I’m typing won’t do it justice, but we get a tiny new conflict pop up! What is this conflict? A clown, more specifically, Otto. That’s Otto Apocalypse himself.

When I saw Otto has basically made it his personal goal to take down Welt, it being Joyce or Yang, to take down AE, and just do his plans, I mean it. This man goes so far, and I can do a whole essay about Otto, because he is an extremely well written antagonist. However, that will be for later in case anyone wants that just tell me. But Otto could have done more to Welt here, however Siegfried was there! Since Siegfried is key to Otto’s plan he just leaves and they both luckily make it back to safety with VERY bad injuries.

Here some random fun facts about Welt Yang that I recall on top of my head cause he gives the brain serotonin!

Welt Yang for the first bit having the core couldn’t sleep tho to the fact that the core houses over 300k people, and he never really complained of any struggles it gave to him, but we learn during the HoD arc when he speaks with Bronya he is concerned about her and ask her all the things she is experiencing.

It’s mention in Second Eruption that Welt would try and ask Einstein to play the piano, also he mentions around that same chapter I believe that if he didn’t inherit the HoR core he thinks/wonders if he would have become a teacher or linguistic like his father.

Facts relating to Arahato is that one his company had a whole copyright issue with Otto’s game company, the Arahato is heavily based of Joyce, and the line “Witness the stars shatter before you!” Comes from Joyce, but Herrchser of Truth Bronya (HI3RD) and Welt (HSR) say this line! Also around the Thus Spoke Apocalypse arc, it is mentioned by Einstein that one morning Welt made breakfast for the crew but it wasn’t much since he made it but implies he knows how to cook!

This is more from Star Rail, but is Serval is in your express she actual mentions Welt cause he asked some questions, but here is the tumblr link for that!

🥹🥹🥹 Omg of course, Anonym. Please take this lil Daddymatsu headcanon post (with a lil x reader thrown in there - you know, I love marrying you and the matsus for these!) Under the cut!

Osomatsu

It happens when all he's doing is simply lazing about. Mindlessly watching some game show on tv, he doesn't realize at first that anything's even happened until he hears his child babbling near the doorway. He shoots up, a little more urgently than normal however because the baby somehow managed to crawl away from his peripheral vision. Yet...when he turns to face the door, he sees his son holding steadily onto the nearby frame, small wobbly legs just getting the hang of holding up his weight. One step. And then another. And suddenly the baby is lifted into his father's arm, laughter ensuing shortly after. In Osomatsu's eyes there's beaming pride, "You did it, kiddo! Holy crap you did it!"

Karamatsu

An ongoing trial trying to get his little one to take her first steps was proving to be a more difficult feat than imagined. Karamatsu is nothing short of a cheerleader however every time he watches his little girl crawl her way around the house. It wasn't until he sat down with her after coming home from the park, with his shades still on and him untying her shoes that it happened. Her tiny hands grabbed onto his hair, effectively pulling herself upward (and causing Karamatsu to yelp in pain) while straightening herself out. She clapped at her success, leaving her poor father stunned for a second. The thought came and went however and Karamatsu kneeled, leaving her grasp and scooching back only a hair so that he gave her space. With his arms spread out he ushered her forward with is hands, "Come sweet pea, walk to Papa, I've got you!" Her little feet made only a few steps in before she began to wobble. Before she could fall, Karamatsu gently tucked his hands under her arms and pulled her in for a hug. "Daddy's so proud of you," he sniffled, snuggling her close in sheer delight.

Choromatsu

He had figured it was bound to happen any day now and he'd been accurately planning for it. Trajectories calculated, numbers crunched mercilessly into the calculator, he had tried to map out all of it, much to his spouse's confusion. And yet every instance that seemed to line up with the "math", never seemed to be the moment that his son finally start to walk. "You have to just let it happen, Choro," were the gentle words you lent him, "He'll walk soon, don't worry." Realizing they were right, Choromatsu took it upon himself to find patience. And boy was he glad he did.

As he was relaxing in bed with his son next to him and reading the newest manga he'd been looking forward to catching up on, small fingers came to gently pull at the book he was holding. Choromatsu set the book down slowly, realizing his son had stood up on the bed at some point and walked over to approach his reading father. In order to confirm his suspicions, Choromatsu moved a few inches towards the end of the bed. He smiled at his child, "You can do it". A few curious blinks, and those same little feet moved towards his father, arms stretching out to reach Choromatsu. The elation the green matsu felt was incomparable - the shout he let out seemed to shaking the whole house as a result.

Ichimatsu

A happy accident is really how it happened! Ichimatsu had taken his daughter to the nearby park, often where she gets to safely meet a lot of the strays that he's befriended over the years. He was feeding a few, carefully watching his daughter crawl around as he did. Her little hand reached out to grab the tail of a black cat that had been sitting in a loaf close by. When her fingers reached around the soft tendril of fur and pulled, the yowl caught Ichimatsu's attention immediately. The fourth brother whipped around immediately, ready to scoop his daughter up and apologize to his fuzzy friend. The sight he beheld however, made him freeze. His little girl was standing on her feet. She watched as the cat she tugged on took a few steps forward and seemed to look back at her, seemingly waiting for something. With an uncertain lift of her foot, she took a step forward. And then another. And two more to follow, her confidence in her steps growing each time. Finally, she reached the observant feline, which switched its initial reaction and instead opted to come under the little girl's hands in order to keep her steady. Bright slitted green eyes met with Ichimatsu's, followed by a small mew of delight. Ichimatsu could not hold back his tears.

Jyushimatsu

For Jyushimatsu this was a matter of simply meeting his babies at their level. Quite literally. The yellow clad brother crawled with his fraternal twins as often as possible, whether trying to get an understanding of what they were doing or perhaps planning a way to teach them how to walk in the future, you were unsure. But it was funny watching him worm his way around on the ground with their children. "Jyushimatsu!" you called from the kitchen, "Dinner's almost ready, could you round up the children please?" "Yup!" he shouted back. He pushed himself up, dusting off his sweater and shorts before leaning down to scoop up his kids. What he didn't plan for - was the babies holding onto his elongated sleeves. His daughter on the left, his son on the right, Jyushimatsu gently lifted them up. He was expecting them to simply sit up, but the raucous giggling below him caught his attention. On both of their feet, the babies held on tight as they tried their best to hold themselves upright. Eyes wide with sheer joy, Jyushimatsu took one step forward, "Now you two! C'mon, do it just like Dad just did!" The twins looked at each other and then looked at their feet. Trying not to wobble, both twins took a simple step. "Ah! You did it! Okay, one more!" and Jyushimatsu repeated his actions, taking another step forward. The twins followed suit, babbling incoherently as they were finding their newfound footing. After a few minutes of what sounded like shuffling, and a ton of laughter, your husband stood a the entrance to the kitchen, tears streaming down his face. You were ready to ask what was wrong before catching sight of what had him so emotional. "Ah ha ha!" Jyushimatsu laughed, a small sniffle cutting through his trademark smile, "Guess what just happened!"

Todomatsu

"Alright, princess, you can do this, come on!" came the soft cheer of Todomatsu, as he held his phone up and hit record on the camera. He watched his daughter carefully, as the other he caught sight of her trying to hoist herself up with the couch end - and today she did the same, trying to use his leg instead. And by Kamimatsu, he was NOT going to miss getting such an important milestone in her life (and his fatherhood accomplishments). So with his camera at the ready, he watched attentively at her every move. It wasn't until the small ping! of his phone ripped his focus away if only for a moment. It was you, asking him if he wanted you to pick up dinner on your way home from work. Todomatsu pressed his knuckle to his chin in thought, "So many options..." he mused to himself. However just as quickly was he thinking of food was he pulled from his thoughts. The cooing of his daughter sounded in front of him, and as he looked up - she was on her feet! Todomatsu gasped in delight, dropping his phone in the process. He immediately ran up to her small frame, stopping short just before her to kneel. His eyes glittered with tears, "Walk to Papa, hunny, c'mon!" The simple step she took had Todomatsu squealing, seemingly unable to process the happiness that overwhelmed him. When you would come home shortly after (which some hotpot ingredients because he never texted you back) and inquire what he was currently crying over, he screamed in delight about your daughter taking her first step! "Look!" he exclaimed, snatching his phone up and unlocking it, "I even got it on-" And then he froze. The color drained from his face when he realized in his adoration he completely forgot to record the entire thing! "Todomatsu...?" you questioned, watching your husband suddenly roll around on the ground in agony. "I DIDN'T THE GET THE VIDEO I WANTED!"

Your mothers(not mikasa I this ikik) had been abusive and neglectful to both you and him. Eventually when you where about 4-6 (your choice) he won custody.

•the best dad anyone could ask for

•always picking you up and holding or carrying you around.

•absolutely loves to ruffle your hair •wants the best life for you, and works hard to see you smile.

•loves when you try squeeze/pick him up- since your so small. • definitely has lots of nicknames for you ex: kid, kiddo, squirt, light of my life, silly thing etc.

•whenever you get hurt, he instantly panicks before calming down and helping you- usually letting you pull his hair or tell you funny stories of his childhood injures.

•definitely guys you a treat at least once weak

•a lot of fun trips in things with armin, mikasa, jean etc. •you call levi papa, erwin grandpa and hange auntie

•lots and I mean LOTS of adventures with eren.

•(mondern wise, he definitely takes you to amusement parks,movies, etc. )

•(back to regular snk-) he's has and WILL use his titan from to protect if he feels your life/wellbeing is being threatened.

•loves when you draw little things over/on his titan marks.

•did I mention he would absolutely be VERY overprotective

•doesn't want you to have to fight when your older- but would love to see you in the survey corps.

during his final year you became really emotional and pretty stoic, you pretty much were only smiling/laughing around just him.

You absolutely DID NOT leave his side, very clingy. When he could barely leave his room you slept in there with him, as you made him meals, and helped him out in every way possible.

On his last day you spent alone with just him, reading to him or just goofing off.

When he finally went, it was at night, you were sleeping in his arms, and woke to find he was gone. You spent that whole day just laying in his arms either crying or just blankly staring at him.

At night you quickly ran over to either armin and mikasa or levi and hange, and told them- few day later he was buried at the tree the two of you were always at(from their childhood)

You barely ate, slept or did anything for a few months before one night you had a dream of him(paths realm) and pretty much you guys hugged before saying you missed each other and to take care of yourself immediately waking up you started getting better, taking care of yourself, getting stronger and in the end joining the survey corps- mainly yo keep your father's memories burning.

He's also much more prone to tickle attacks- part of it is him having a soft spot for the kiddos (Daki, Gyutaro, Rui) so he lets them win, and part of it is because Douma's too powerful when it comes to tickle attacks. The blonde is sneaky!

He's also suuuuper sensitive to air tickles (Something Hantengu and his clones take advantage of quite regularly) so just wiggling your fingers at him is enough to break any real defense he has karkaekrjke

Like- Douma and Kokushibou when desired can hide their reactions fairly well; Akaza...can't. Not very well, anyway. He's the type of ticklish that even the smallest of prods or pokes will get him squawking and giggly.

Akaza I like to think also lowkey really likes tickles? He couldn't tell you why but something about them feels nostalgic.

I think when he was Hakuji, Keizo and Koyuki would tickle him all the time whenever he started to feel down about his past and whatnot. Also cause even as a human he was pretty ticklish ajrjkaejkraekjrjk He'd let Koyuki win all the time cause he never wanted to hurt her, plus seeing her smiling and laughing with him always made it worth it.

The street was busy, illuminated by neon lights casting hues of pink, purple, and yellow. Grandma poured everyone a glass of her personal sake stash, "Kanpai!"

"Ahh... Today was a good day for business," She smiled, surveying the lively street.

"Yeah, it was busier than usual... Damn, I still can't believe we met Red Riot and Dynamight," Geto chuckled, handing you a cigarette, despite your recent decision to quit. You comtemplated the idea for a moment before refusing.

Grandma chimed in, her brows furrowing with worry. "Is there something on your mind, kiddo?"

"Nah, It's nothing..." you admitted, your voice tinged with frustration. There was more than a few things on your mind but you couldn't share any of it with them.

"When you say 'nothing'..." Geto air-quoted, "Are you referring to Dynamights fine ass?"

"W-What?!" You choked on your drink, "No! What the hel-"

"Come on Y/n~ Your eyes were glued on him the whole time-"

"BE-CAUSE! He was being a jerk to Gran' and you!" You shot back, "tch, can't believe you even let him treat you like that..."

"I mean, did you see the guy? I'll let him treat me however he wants." He wiggled his eyebrows.

You feigned a gag, "ugh... I thought Red Riot was your type?"

"He is." He shrugged, "But I'm not that picky you know."

"Oh, I know-" You rolled your eyes at him.

The topic changed course abruptly, giving your mind a short rest while your heart already felt a bit lighter. Time seemed to slip away as you enjoyed the company and the calming atmosphere. As people passed, you couldn't help but overhear snippets of conversation, most of them centered around a certain vigilante who seemed to be gaining popularity in the neighborhood

7. A Tale of a Thousand Stars [Thai] [Literally got me back into bls during pandemic. The bgm, the village vibes, THEM, chefs kiss. I have even sent @hereforb99 crying vids way back in the days.]

8. Be My Favourite the series [Thai] [I genuinely just watch it for the theme song that they kept playing every 5 seconds (am I one of the few people who was obsessed with it?) plus the surprising chemistry of gawinkrist. Loved it. Did rewatch a lot of eps cuz of it.]

9. Triage the series [Thai] [There wasn't anything comforting abt the series per say throughout 🤡 but like IT WAS CUTE AND SOFT SHUT UP]

10. Bite Me the series [Thai] [SEE so the ending was crap and the last 2 to 3 eps were also crap :). But I LOVED the first few eps and the BGM 🥺 I LOU ME A BGM THAT CAN HOOK ME OKAY LEAVE ME ALONE.]

i’m doing this for haikyuu on my kagehina blog and after reading Onee-chan by @patamon, i’ve been inspired to do it for my chosen bbys so here it goes:

the chosen have a discord server that started for digital world-related things but evolved into a chaotic mess of digimon/pet pics, tv show/book/anime/manga/music recs, memes, school/homework help, advice, and other random shenanigans

koushiro gets a dog. yes i know i wrote abt this already but i can’t stop thinking abt koushiro being a lonely kiddo and his mom knows

food is a great way to bribe someone—jou with coffee, takeru & hikari with sweets, koushiro with tea, etc.

hikari has a massive sticker collection, she hoards them the way taichi hoards video games

miyako is not above commissioning fanfics from takeru; she writes them herself too but gets a lot of writing pointers from takeru

mimi has a big following on social media and she pulls a lot of the other chosen into it, including an exasperated jou, a very confused koushiro, and ofc famous rock icon Ishida Yamato

after (prbly accidentally) learning that ken suffers from depression, the older chosen create a separate chat for mental health <333 they’re always finding ways to spend time together so nobody is lonely (lookin at you, takeru)
