plot info: You are a Jedi Knight in the order and fight during the clone wars for the cause of the republic. The story is set after Obi-Wan’s alleged death through the hand of the bounty hunter Rako Hardeen. Obi-Wan and you joined the Jedi order together when you were only children and are consequently life long friends. However, like Anakin you are not informed about Obi-Wan’s faux death and under cover mission disguised as the bounty hunter Rako Hardeen in order not to endanger his endeavor. A month has gone by and you are still not over Obi-Wan’s death.

summary: Master Yoda speaks with you about your troubles and commands you to go to Naboo and help Mace Windu to protect the chancellor from a planned kidnapping.

a/n: Here is the planned second part. The reader still hasn’t confronted Rako Hardeen alias Obi-Wan Kenobi, but please be patient. A third part will follow.

“You must not let personal feelings distract you. Let your thoughts find rest. Be one with the force,” you advised the Jedi younglings who sat gathered in a semi circle around you. “Can you feel the calmness taking over? Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Let it go. Now repeat and completely empty your head.”

You had not been on a mission outside the Jedi temple since the night he died. You simply were not able to seek the action of battle anymore, you were tired of fighting, tired of the inevitable violence of war. Although you had sworn to go on as you usual, to honor Obi-Wan's course, you had not properly left the Jedi temple for a little more than a month now. Instead you had committed to training younglings in meditation repeating to them the same mantra that was ceaselessly chanting in your own head. Rest your thoughts. Sooth the pain. All this time and your heart was still aching, weeping, bathing in sorrow. Of what use were all the wise words you directed at the younglings if they could not help yourself feeling more at ease. Instead your mind was racing and your thoughts were wandering off constantly.

"Younglings. It is time. We are going to wrap this up for today. You can proceed with your further lessons now." You slowly left the room with the younglings and headed to the archives. Doing research and educating yourself further was the only thing that could distract you at the moment. Even practice fights could not cheer you up. As a matter of fact, you had not wielded you light saber for what felt like an eternity. Of what use was your light saber anyway, if it did not save Obi-Wan? Never again would you look into his blue eyes, never again would he comfort you after battle, never again would you laugh about his sarcastic little remarks and witty jokes. Was he now watching you? Being one with the force? Trying to tell you to move on? You would never know. And he would never know about your little secret-

“Good morning, Master y/n.” You turned around facing the source of the sudden voice. “Padawan Offee. What is it?” You asked still caught in your thoughts.

“Master Yoda wanted to speak with you. He asked me to tell you to meet him in his meditation room.” You frowned. “Did he inform you why?” - “No Master, but he told me that it was urgent,” the Padawan proceeded. “Well, thank you Padawan Offee, I will seek him immediately.”

You bid the Padawan goodbye and navigated to Master Yoda's meditation room. Did he notice? Was he going to lecture you? What if he found out about your troubles to let go, about your failure? Would he dare to expel you? He could not, he must not. Somehow, you could manage. You were still a loyal Jedi, you did not do anything wrong, did you? Obi-Wan would not want you to be expelled because you were not able to let him go, this was not right. Nothing was. You had not noticed that you were already standing before Master Yoda’s door. Collect yourself, y/n. All will be well. You took a deep breath and proceeded to open the door.

Upon entering you found Master Yoda sitting on one of the cushioned chairs turning away from you. “Master y/n. Sensed your arrival I have,” the little Jedi Master uttered. “You wanted to speak with me, Master Yoda?” - “Yes, indeed. Turned from fighting you have. A great disturbance in you I feel.” He should have noticed earlier. You were not horrible at hiding your feelings, but you were not excellent at it either and definitely not in front of the greatest Jedi Master of your time. After all, you had shut up yourself in the Jedi temple for over a month now. By now almost everyone should have noticed that Obi-Wan's death hat not left you untouched.

“Why only now, Master Yoda?” you asked. “Hidden your heart well you have. Tried to give you time to rest we have. But time to move on it has come.” That was easy enough for him to say, but for you it was not. Of course, he did not understand, how could he? “Yes, Master, naturally,” you managed to respond. “Your mouth approval it gives, but silent your heart remains. An important mission for you we have. The Jedi council decided it has.” - “A mission, Master?” - “Yes, Master y/n. Go to Naboo you will. To help Master Windu your task is. An attempt on kidnapping the chancellor we sensed. Stop the attackers we must.” - “Why did you not tell me in the council in front of the others?” - “To respect your condition I wanted. Trust me you must.” - “Master, in vain I have tried to sooth my sorrow, but time has not yet been able to aid the hole that Obi-Wan’s death left in my heart. Please understand me, we have been friends since childhood, I trusted Obi-Wan with my life and he trusted me. I know the code forbids us to form attachments, but it is hard to lose a close companion. That is why I have been isolating myself, I need time. I am working on myself, trying to let go, trying to go on as before. I am meditating and studying, I am toiling hard. Thus, I want to be frank with you. I have failed the Jedi code for now, but I want to make it right. I am not ready yet. I will continue work. I- will... I-” - “Master y/n. Understand your sorrow I do. Hard to lose a friend it is. Your work not unnoticed it was. Acknowledging your recovery we are. But trust me you must. Go to Naboo and aid you will find. Sometimes, this aid with grief it comes, but in the end mirth ensue it will.” - “You are not angry with me, Master Yoda?” - “No, I am not. Jedi never free from missteps they are. As long as they find their way, all will be well. Recovering you are. Your work appreciated it is.” - “Thank you for your understanding, Master. I will trust you. I will go to Naboo and help to protect the chancellor. Maybe, some distraction outside the Jedi temple does wonders.” - “Thinking I did so too. Now return to your chambers you should. Time for me to meditate it is. May the force be with you!” - “And with you,” you answered and got up leaving the room.

WRITING IN GENERAL (For those who don't want to die like Stormtroopers)

SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).

ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I've ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, with +20 different in-depth reports, for only the first 500 words. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn't mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you're writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit it too.

LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the word limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence (3 a day), even if it doesn't raise any flags; it's very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn't feel quite right.

Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.
