Kenfetti Week is returning for 2023, but due to various mods' schedules, it will be pushed to July this year. Our tentative dates are July 9th-15th for Kenfetti Week proper, with works due on July 1st. Prompts suggestions will likely not be opened up until April.

14. Who kills the spiders?

this is more a question of who does something about the spider (jango) vs who sits down on the bathroom floor to look at the spider and looks up the species and takes a picture to send it to jango once he's finally found its species' name (and THEN. he does something about it.)

29. Who is the better cook?

jango. obi-wan's a competent cook out of necessity (raising a child), but i feel like he has very little patience for cooking. he knows how to cook well a few dishes and that's about it, he's not interested in experimenting and he won't go out of his way to learn how to make something unless he has to.

jango on the other hand 1. enjoys cooking, 2. actually has the patience for it. i also think that for him it is something that connects him to his family (to his parents and to jaster), and probably one of the very few parts of his heritage he allows himself to engage with by the time he is living on kamino.

49. Who is the driver/ Who is the passenger?

it depends! i think jango's usually the pilot when it comes to ships and obi-wan drives when it's a speeder. jango's the better pilot and obi-wan is the worst backseat driver in existence, so it all works out.

I am rereading Mandalorian Courtship again for like the third time this month and am slowly simmering in excitement (just simmering! Please don’t feel like this is a nudge to update or anything I can wait lol!)

But like. Does Jango learn that the knife Obi-Wan gave him was one that got stabbed into Obi-Wan. I feel like this would heighten an emotion or two (though I don’t know which ones).

Anyways you made Jango so wonderfully smug in that fic. I’d hate him if I ever met him in real life. It’s so easy to sympathize with Cody, but it’s also so much fun to watch him show off to Obi-Wan while he’s oblivious. It feels like Jango’s a cat doing a big stretch and then scratching his scratching post while Obi-Wan watches on, mildly amused. I have no clue how else to describe it.

Awwww! I’m so glad you enjoy it, Anon. I’m so happy you’re excited for the next chapter! I am working on it, slowly. So I really appreciate you’re patience and that you’ve read it multiple times. 

I wasn’t planning on revealing that in the story. Buuuutt Jango would have some serious complex feels about that. On the one hand, He would find it impressively attractive that he won the knife off of someone in hand to hand combat. On the other... Now that he’s engaged to Obi-Wan, he would maybe feel more justified in tracking down and kicking the responsible party’s shebs.

I’m very happy you enjoy smug, annoying stretchy cat Jango. Its one of my favorite types of Jango, and I’m glad you caught that lol

Mandalorian Courtship: In Four Easy Steps

A Jango excerpt:

“He was stabbed with that you know.” The medic informed him, nodding to the blade Obi-Wan had gifted him as he diligently applied bacta to a blaster shot that had struck between his beskar plates. 

“What?” Jango grunted, brow furrowing.

“The General.” Kix said, tone implying he thought Jango slow on the uptake. “Was stabbed by that blade. A tussle with a merc in the outer rim. Damn near bled out.”

Jango felt a twist in his gut at the context. He’d been blissfully unaware of how the jetii had come to possess it. It was undoubtedly a lovingly crafted engagement knife, though he was well aware that Kenobi wasn’t privy to that. Nor what his actions had truly meant. The added layer of having been won in a fight for his life. Well. Jango had always admired competency. “And the merc?” He inquired after being silent a beat too long. 

“Escaped.” 

Well that wouldn’t do.

It took relatively little effort for Jango to track down the offending mercenary.

“Fett.” The man bared his teeth in a hostile smile, when Jango loomed over his table.

“Krull.” He was a mediocre warrior from Concord Dawn with possible ties to Kyr’tsad. “Found something that belonged to you.” He flipped the knife out of his sheath and into his palm, showing the hilt to the other man.

“Last I saw that, I left it in a Jetii.” Krull’s grin widened. “Though from the sounds of it, the shabuir lived.” The men sandwiching Krull snickered and chortled.

Jango flipped the blade towards them. “And he then gifted it to me.” Krull’s smile fell slightly at Jango’s proclamation. It was all the warning he gave them before he vaulted over the table.

His Mando’a was still in Jango’s own accent, and though his face was composed, he still looked as though his eyes could weep with all the sadness of the galaxy.

All the verde had removed their buy’ce, and were now glancing with horror and admiration between the holoprojection of the young harbinger and the fifteen-standard son of their leader. The Jedi Killer, he’d been named. Plural, Jedi. Last survivor of a killing field.

“Ben,” Myles kept his voice calm. “I was looking for you.”

Jango’s head whipped around, staring at Ben in shock. There hadn’t been time between stumbling on the fight and getting involved in the fight for Myles to explain just who it was they’d just found.

Ben’s gaze darted toward the street again. “Why’s that?” Ben asked, tone not-quite conversational. He sounded exhausted, Myles noted, even with only two words to judge and Myles could hear the strange slowness to the words that came when a person was struggling to string a sentence together.

Myles tapped at his ribs where the two lies lay. “Found a few scars on my body that hadn’t been there before.”

The answer is mostly likely that I yoinked a line from Shakespeare. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I have some Star Wars fics whose names are original and I loved them- but do I know where I got them? No.

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

Answered the main ones in another ask, but let me see if there is anything else...... I am still going through a bunch of the prompts for the Bashnag/Reader stuff, and I have a Mandalorian Short after the Kenfetti, worst day ever as well.

Q: Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?

:((((((( No, all my docs got corrupted last week. So everything I have is now limited to 16k on a word document and everything on ao3. Pity me, there was stuff from 2010 on there.

So, I found this on someone else’s blog somewhere sometime ago and thought it was a cool idea. Looking over this made me realize just how much Star Wars and Stucky I read this year. Whoops?

In no particular order:

- A Variable Star by twigcollins

This is a WIP about 13/14ish Obi-Wan going through an absolute adventure that is completely not by choice, and the fun part is that he gets to do it with a Sith’s voice in his head! 1000/10 recommend

- The 212th Attack Battalion’s Guide to Saving the Galaxy by Accident by antigrav_vector and Quarra

This one is sort of cheating on my part because I originally read it in 2020/1, but I keep coming back to it and it is absolutely amazing! The series is technically still in progress and has everything I could ask for. Time travel shenanigans? Check. De-aging shenanigans? Check. Adults giving a damn about the trauma these men/boys have experienced? Check. Plo Koon being buir? Check. Just beautiful! ∞/10

Just a warning for it, the text can be a bit anti-Jedi at times, but I don't think it was super often?

This is a chat fic of sorts, BUT it is Stucky and has lovely team dynamics (even if that is nothing like canon) and has Liberal Steve and happy Bucky. Just, my type of 2012 version of canon. 20/10 if it matches your tastes and political views

Did someone say Pre-Serum Steve in the modern world with a slow burn touch with Bucky who gets some help? Absolutely love it, and it’s definitely in my top 5 Stucky/MCU fics.

- Myths and Fairytales by kj_feybarn

This fic series was absolutely spectacular. It scratched by Greek Mythos and Star Wars itches simultaneously and left me both satisfied and wanting more. The first one was Codywan in place of Calypso, and the second was Kenfetti in place of Andromeda and Perseus and both were breathtaking. 

This was so much harder than it had any right of being. I didn’t realize how many fics I read or started reading until I went looking through my AO3 bookmarks, and uh, I have so many more I want to put on here. Honorable mention would be the multiple Anti-Tony Stark series written by Gibbs_yeah. They all helped me keep my sanity and time I ran into a prop-Tony. 

As for my own work... Well. I published 10 works this year, but the ones I finished I think are meh and the one I didn’t finish hasn’t been touched since the semester started in August so. My favourite to write was Mission Report: Ploo System, which was actually the drabble/fic/whatever that sparked the rest of the series it belongs to.

Jango/Obi-Wan

Kind of a silly one but I do daydream about this AU a lot. At some point before AotC, Obi-Wan sets up an account on what is basically space Tinder for a mission. As a way of getting info on a target. Mission concludes, he forgets about the account until the datapad he's using stops working and he grabs another one and it ends up being the one with the dating app on it and out of just boredom that's all it is, he swears he starts scrolling though but quickly beings bored and disgusted and stops, his account is now active though and he wakes up to a message from a Mandalorian of all people. I think Jango was probably just using it for hookups but Obi-Wan's profile had a quote from the Supercommando Codex, translated into Basic, but still. And they start exchanging messages that are first kind of awkward verging on antagonist that then shifts into flirt fighting and more craziness ensues from there!
