Hi! I was just wondering if there will be Kenfetti week this year?
Also just want to say thanks for all your work on this event!
- Mod A -
Hey there, thanks for asking, and we're glad so many people have enjoyed the event!
Kenfetti Week is returning for 2023, but due to various mods' schedules, it will be pushed to July this year. Our tentative dates are July 9th-15th for Kenfetti Week proper, with works due on July 1st. Prompts suggestions will likely not be opened up until April.
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please feel free to send in an ask or DM this account directly and we will be happy to answer!

Hi anon!
I have already talked about it, but I am once again going with the first one (i'l add the link later lol--i am obviously on my phone right now). The prompt was Mand'alor Jango, and for me a huge part of planning that fic and deciding on an approach was Jango's character. He's not the POV character, but I feel like he's the most interesting part about that fic: in this AU, Galidraan doesn't happen the same way. Mace Windu goes instead of Dooku, and that affects how everything else happens. He and Jango end up becoming something close to friends (friends who butt heads and fundamentally disagree with each other about a lot of stuff precisely because they're a bit too similar), and tjey're also not quite political allies.
This Jango is--softer, I guess. Or not softer, but kinder. He's not as guarded. The fact that he's friends with the man who chopped off his head in canon is just the cherry on top for me.

📓
For the fanfic daydream ask meme:
So self-indulgent, but Casablanca-ish AU with Jango and Obi-Wan. Set in a vaguely our world setting with SW place names and characters and species. Uhhh spoilers for a film from 1942 but the flashbacks in Paris where Rick is so happy and in love? Then contrasted with how he is in Casablanca? Gives me major Jango vibes.
And Obi-Wan trying to do the right thing but getting stuck in impossible situations.
LOTS of angst obviously but would have a hopeful/happy ending.

Is the discord only for kenfetti week or is it open and usef year-round? If that makes sense...
- Mod A -
Not to worry, that question makes complete sense! As this is only our second Kenfetti Week ever, and our first with a Discord server, the community of Kenfetti enthusiasts we've built thus far is small enough that we see no reason to restrict the server use to only around the time of Kenfetti Week itself. We may be small in number, but our love for these two absolute disaster men is strong and never-ending, and we hope that members feel comfortable discussing all things Kenfetti whenever the mood strikes, even when Kenfetti Week is over!
For those who haven't yet seen but have gleaned from this post, Kenfetti Week 2022 now has a Discord server! If you're interested in joining—either because you're participating in the week or because you're just a Kenfetti enthusiast who's happy to find a Discord dedicated to them—there's a permanent invitation link at the bottom of our Kenfetti Week 2022 Masterpost.

Is there a Discord for the event/do the mods know of any other servers focused on the ship?
- Mod A -
As last year was our first year doing Kenfetti Week, we weren't sure how much interest there would be, so we didn't want to commit to making an entire server that wouldn't get much use. Since you asked, though!

Hello! I thought you might want to know that your discord link has expired; to edit how long an invite link can stay active for, you can go through the little 'Edit invite link' link under where the link's url is generated (if you've been generating a link through the 'Invite People' section) o/ Thank you for running such a great event!
- Mod A -
Ah, thank you for letting us know that the link was expired! ^^;

Oooo for the writer ask game, 🤩, 👀, and 🧠 for Fox!
hi anon! thanks for asking!
🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?
it depends but more often than not it's cody 😶 i really enjoy being in his head, i guess. the way i write him, he's very funny and very clever and very prickly and very full of righteous anger he can't often express. idk man. i love him!! he's the blorbest and he's also kind of a bitch
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
i have a bunch of stuff in the wip folder right now! i'm working on the codywan au fest fics (two down!), i'm writing the fake dating au not-sequel thing (it's going to end up being much longer than i expected lmao), and then i have a few more fics that as of right now are kind of on ice.
one of them is the codex persuasion au, with cody as anne (i reread the novel this summer and. well.)
the other one is a clone wars au where jango doesn't die at geonosis. it's hmmm. it's kenfetti AND codex lol, and i think that's a pretty common fandom trope by now, but let's just say that's my spin on it, i guess.
🧠 Pick a character, and I’ll tell you my favorite headcanon for them.
assigned Nice Young Man TM by every single woman over 50 he has ever met in his life, very much despite himself. it's the costumer service demeanor, and how quiet and polite he is by default with people who 1. aren't brothers 2. he doesn't really know, after 3+ years working the senate

...just thought I'd send in a quick sneak peek of something I'm working on for Pride and Pretentions! (With a small side of Alpha-17/Obi-Wan, because it's fun)
Obi-Wan held back a scoff. “Can’t have your second in command marrying a Jedi, I suppose.”
A smile played around Fett’s lips. “I can’t have my second in command marrying you.” Fett leaned forward. “You’ve already been claimed, and he’s well aware of the fact.”
A flash of cold ran down his back. “Claimed,” he repeated. He had the vague memory, once, of Alpha having once said something similar during a bout of sex. I know you’re claimed, but right now you’re mine. Obi-Wan had dismissed it, had assumed that Alpha had meant claimed by duty or by the Jedi.
He was claimed by neither, now. The Jedi disbanded and his duty non-existent.
“Oh yes.” Fett’s smile had grown dangerous. It was the smile Obi-Wan had seen during campaign strategy sessions, back when he’d been grateful that Fett had condescended to help the Republic win their war. Back when he’d been almost fond of the man. “You see, you’ll be marrying me.”

Do written works have to be a certain length? Like, is there a minimum requirement, or are drabbles & oneshots okay
- Mod A -
No minimum! Whether you write a single old-school drabble for a single prompt or a 20-chapter epic for every day of the week, we just want to have a good time and put more Kenfetti out into the world. If all you feel like contributing is a 100 words, that's still 100 words that didn't exist beforehand! One raindrop raises the sea and all that—we want Kenfetti Week to be fun, not feel like homework.

Maybe asking the authors to update their fic posting date to the reveal date upon reveal will help with discoverability as well?
- Mod A -
Yup! As mentioned in our Full Kenfetti Week Schedule, and as expanded upon in our Posting To AO3 Collections Tutorial, we highly recommend anyone posting on AO3 alter the publication date of all Kenfetti Week works to match the day on which it is revealed so that the work is not backdated to the date on which it was initially submitted to the Kenfetti Week 2022 collection. We will also be posting additional reminders and reblogging the tutorial post as we near the submission deadline, as well as leading up to the event week itself, and will include smaller reminders to do so within each prompt day masterpost.

I’m not sure if this is a dumb question or if I’m just not used to AO3 , but is there a way to ‘follow’ the collection or do I just keep the link open in its own tab? I just don’t want to miss anything, I’m so excited to see what everyone does
- Mod A -
Not a dumb question at all!
Unfortunely, there is currently no option to subscribe to or follow collections on AO3, only individual creators. However, as Kenfetti Week is moderated and operates on a set schedule viewable here (prompt list and corresponding days found here), you'll be able to view all the works for each prompt in Kenfetti Week as they are revealed en masse each day of the event. Additionally, over here on Tumblr, we will be reblogging each individual work in the #kenfetti week 2022 tag, and we encourage creators to draw attention to their posts by either @ing this blog or directly sending us a link to boost its visibility. And since we really don't want anyone (including ourselves) to miss any works during the event, we will also be creating individual masterposts for each prompt day with links to all applicable works for easy viewing and navigation.
Basically, you'll be able to see all new works in the collection each day of the event, and if you miss any, you should be able to find them in the masterposts over here the day after.

Hey guys! We’ve gotten some anons wondering where this event came from following on the heels of the lovely and delightful JangObi Week. They did such a great job and we were all really excited to see the fics and art coming out from it, but we also didn’t really know it was happening until it was too late for our own schedules to allow us to participate! So we were spitballing ideas and, as a group of writers and artists who very much enjoy the pairing, we decided to create Kenfetti Week as well! Two weeks of Jango Fett and Obi-Wan content! We chose a point several months away for the actual event to give ourselves and all of you lots of time to prep.
Plus, who doesn’t like more Jango/Obi-Wan content? On the subject of Kenfetti vs. JangObi, there’s really not a difference. One of our mods joked about disliking the name jangobi, but it was really more just a way to keep our event distinct, and not infringing on the awesome work the JangObi Week people have done! Plus, I did get a bit excited about the art I could make off the play of Kenfetti/Confetti  ^.^ Our event is set up a little differently, mostly because we decided this was an easier way for us personally to run it. If anyone ever has questions or comments, you’re always welcome to send us a message here!

I'm planning on writing for kenfetti week, but I was wondering if we had to do all the days?? there's some that I'm pretty stuck on, so I just wanted to check :0
- Mod A -
Oh, not at all! You can do as many or as few fills as you like, all we want is to make content for Kenfetti and have fun doing it. If you write 20k for each prompt or just a single ficlet for one, we’ll be delighted by your participation!

Hi! Popping by to say that I'm really happy you elaborated on this event. The previous posts really did make it seem like this week was created simply because you thought that "jangobi was an ugly ship name" and that by creating this event would draw more attention to the kenfetti ship name and boot jangobi out.
Sorry it just seemed odd because it also felt like you were discrediting the jangobi week mods and when you used the jangobi tag I was even more confused because you claimed it was an ugly ship name
But I'm glad you elaborated because I was a little sad about it seeming the way I thought it was.
- Mod A -
Lol, that’s fair! I’m the only one who gets particular about my use of portmanteaus, so the mod who wrote the first few posts added that in as a joke to poke at me. It was just a joke, though. It’s not like the ship name is important to us or anything, it was just a delineation that we already had off of Tumblr, so we leaned into it for the event. (It’s all about the pun-potential, man!)
Most of us just didn’t really know that JangObi Week was happening until it was right on our doorsteps, and the lot of us are in a few different Discord servers with a bunch of shippers who weren’t really aware of it either, so we figured we could put together a second one for later in the year to fit our schedules better and boost the amount of Jango/Obi-Wan content even more along the way. And since it’s the same ship and Kenfetti is, for the most part, a ship name we use on Discord, we cross-posted in the “jangobi” tag so that people who’d also missed the window for JangObi Week would see that there’ll be a second event later on that they can plan for and participate in without having to wait a whole year.

Hi! Quick question. When you say make any adjustments- do you mean you will tell a writer to edit their fic?
- Mod A -
The only time a mod should contact you personally about your fic is when it pertains to the rules of the event: appropriate tags, bashing of Jango or Obi-Wan, explicit underage younger than 14, etc.
If you mean to ask if the mods will contact you about the, shall we say, ""quality"" of the fic? Absolutely not; this is a fun fandom event, not FanFiction.Net. Everyone has their own unique style of writing, their own level of fluency in written English, and their own methods of editing (or not editing! No Betas We Die Like Men is a common tag for a reason!), and none of that is any business of anyone else's.
It just happens that we mods are also writers and know that sometimes you'll post something to AO3 and find 17 new typos, mistakes, and little word choices that make you facepalm. "Hot of the presses" is a perfectly valid way to post, I (Mod A) do it all the time, but this way everyone has some extra breathing room to make any additional edits as they see fit before the works are revealed.

Hey there! How are the prompt submissions going? Getting a lot? (Also I am sorry if I've submitted too many or accidentally sent in dupes.)
- Mod A -
It's going good! We've gotten several dozen so far and, with half of February and all of March left, we hope to get many, many more. And, please, don't feel like you're sending in 'too many'; we want as much variety as possible and there's no limit on how many or few any one person can send in for exactly that reason.
Send in as many prompts as your hearts desire, everybody, the more the merrier!
