It's hard to overstate how much of a phenomenon Spongebob Squarepants was. I have in my mind that it was a latecomer to the golden years of Nickelodeon animation, following highlights like Rugrats, but I can't really argue with the fifteen seasons, three feature films, the Braodway musical, and whatever else Spongebob there is that I don't know about.

And the Barbie.

Barbie Loves Spongebob was a 2002 Barbie featuring the lady herself in a Spongebob shirt and trousers featuring Spongebob jellyfishing.

But sorry, did I say Barbie? I meant Barbies.

Spongebob Squarepants bobble buddy Barbie is a surfing Barbie in a Spongebob-themed swimsuit, with her pal Spongebob and a cardboard cutout of Patrick Star.

Two Barbies was not enough for the sponge though.

Spongebob Squarepants Barbie has a third different Spongebob themed outfit, with a different Spongebob top and plain yellow pants. She also features a Spongebob keychain.

Not to mention the Kelly and Tommy Spongebob and Patrick.

Which are adorable, but really puzzling.

They're more unsettling the more you zoom in.

As much as I enjoyed the barbie movie I was very disappointed by the lack of Kelly/Chelsea references. Unless I blinked and missed it or it happened while I was in the bathroom. I didn't expect either of them to be actual characters, but like Skipper was named and pictured, and even Stacie was one of the dolls featured in the credits.

Kelly was just a huge part of my childhood personally so it made me sad not to see her even mentioned :( but i think I'm in the minority so i get why they didn't try to fit it in

Alright

Barbie lore time lol

So I've done the math of Barbie's many siblings (cause I'm bored)

And if some of these characters aren't the same person (Tutti, Kelly number 1 and Anastasia, aka Stacie)

And assuming that Kelly number 2 and Chelsea aren't the same person despite what Mattel says since their ages don't match up

Barbie would canonically be the eldest child of 9 kids

Including a possible set of quadruplets (Tutti, Todd, Kelly number 1, and Stacie since they're all supposed to be the same age)

I was looking through the wiki for Barbie and her family, and it starts with Barbie obviously, then Skipper, Tutti, Todd, Kelly number 1, Stacie, Kelly number 2, Chelsea and Krissy

But the younger siblings' ages also don't match up either of how old they're supposed to be vs. debut orders, as well as where they stand in the family tree

Tutti came after Skipper making her 3rd oldest, then her twin brother Todd but

Kelly number 1 came after Tutti and then came Stacie, who has also been called Todd's twin

Are Stacie and Tutti the same person and just look different as they got older? Is Tutti a nickname and Anastasia aka Stacie her real name? And what about Kelly number 1? Who came after Tutti but before Stacie?

Or did something happen to Tutti and Kelly number 1? Did Tutti get sent away to live else where since she looks like trouble? Was she the trouble maker of the family?

Again: What happened to Kelly 1?

Also, where does Todd stand? Is Todd in the middle if they actually are quadruplets and what number order of middle since he's listed as both Tutti and Stacie's twin brother? Or is it Tutti, Kelly 1, Stacie, then Todd?

Then there's Kelly number 2, the apparent 7th oldest, yet her age range is listed as 3 and in preschool while Chelsea is listed as 6 and in elementary school

Is Chelsea actually the 7th born child and Kelly 2 8th?

And if all these other siblings really are different from each other and not the same people going by different names or nicknames, where are they? Why do people only know of some of Barbie's siblings but not the rest

Do all of Barbie's best friends and Ken know about these siblings? Many have known Barbie for years but only ever see and hear about Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea

Then again, these are also best friends who have never even heard of her siblings and vice-versa

Or is it because these 3 accompany Barbie the most throughout her adventures since apparently these 3 live with her and not their parents

When the heck did Barbie leave home? Why is she allowed to have custody of some of her siblings? Because of her many career moves? Also, isn't Barbie 19 since that's when she apparently stopped aging? Skipper is between 14 and 16 now, and I know Stacie is between the ages of 10 and 13 with about a 4 year age gap between her and Chelsea, who's 6

So modern age time wise: Barbie: 19, Skipper: 14 - 16, Tutti, Kelly 1, Todd and Stacie: 10 - 13, Chelsea: 6, Kelly 2: 3 and Krissy: 1

Meaning Barbie's parents were having kids about every 3 years

Many questions about the Robert's family

Maybe I'll do the extended family since they have some cousins and I wonder where they fit age wise

They focus their efforts in Brownsville which is the most impoverished neighborhood in New York. Brownsville's incarceration rate is three times the city's as a whole, and higher than every other neighborhood in New York State. In their work they consider, trauma, oppressive structures, and how can a community build resilience. . Power of Two focuses on the strong and healthy attachment between parent and child that avoids passing ‘toxic stress’ to their babies. Their work has shown how working with babies, from six months old to two years old, has measurable and immediate effects on the baby’s cortisol levels resulting in a life long impact on brain development and overall health of children. . Even though they can’t currently provide the family therapy and coaching because of the pandemic, their site is overflowing with information for families titled the “COVID19 Emergency Resource Guide”. It includes resources for remote learning, housing , financial assistance, at-home learning activities, mental health, medical care, meals, voting information and so much more (also available in Spanish!!). I highly encourage you to check it out, google their website and get involved. You can also donate to benefit the psychologists, specialists and teachers that work closely with these families. The Roberts Siblings

Over the years the family has undergone some changes so just to recap quickly!

First and foremost we have Barbie. As we all know, Barbie debuted in 1959. Barbie was introduced as a "teen fashion model" but in subsequent years has run for President so we have to assume she is at least 35.

Skipper is Barbie's oldest younger sister. Skipper was released in 1963 - 1964 as an elementary school student, though over subsequent releases she aged into a teenager. (see also my post about the Growing Up Skipper.)

Next up was the Bendable! Poseable! Terrifying! Tutti. This sinister little sister debuted in 1965 but was discontinued in 1971.

Then comes Stacie. Stacie was comparable in age to Skipper was at debut, though she didn't debut until 1992.

Kelly, who later changed her name to Chelsea, was next along. She was introduced officially in 1995, though had one random appearance in 1991. She changed her name in 2010. Depending on release she was anything from a toddler to about six or seven years old.

Krissy was the short-lived baby of the family - she was only in production for four years, from 1999 to 2003.

But here's the thing about the Roberts family.

What is the story with Todd?

Todd was Tutti's twin brother on release.

However after Tutti was discontinued for the crime of looking like the most haunted Barbie I've ever seen, Todd hung around.

But now he was paired with Kelly?

This is the mysterious Kelly debut in 1991, before she was officially released as a younger doll a few years later.

But what's this?

Todd and Stacie share a birthday now?

I demand answers, Mattel.

So after doing my detective work on Barbie's many siblings

I decided to draw one of them as a modern sibling

This is Kelly Roberts number 1, one of the older middle siblings

Since Stacie is known for wearing her hair in a ponytail, even back in her debuts, I decided that an updo would be good for her

Pink is apparently the girls' main color (of course it is lol) so I had to put something pink on her

I'm going to do the others and already have a look for Tutti

I'm gonna try to make Tutti, Kelly 1, and Stacie all look alike because of their status and my new personal headcanon that the 3 plus Todd or quadruplets

Wish me luck since consistency isn't one of my strong suits 😅
