Soooo....it's amazing to me how people think🥴. I've had some time to reflect on this, and it kind of bothers me. This morning at church, one gentleman leaned up and said, "Whoever he is, sure is keeping a smile on your face." A few months ago, another guy asked, "Who you getting all skinny for?" I thought about Tamia's song with my reply, "Her name is Me!" I started my health journey a few years ago, and I'm finally reaping the results. And when I talk about my health journey, it's not just physical. I began working on myself mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. A few years ago, yes, I decided that I was FINALLY ready to begin dating again. And I realized that you date at the level of your self-esteem. Realizing that my self-esteem had been completely destroyed after my marriage, I began to work on finding Dorothy again. I went back to therapy. I began falling in love with God again and falling in love with the woman He had created me to be again, flaws and all. I began to accept my awkwardness and that I'm perfectly imperfect. And with getting my inside together, I began to work on the outside. So, yes, maybe now my glow reflects the woman that I'm becoming! AND when God blesses me with that man to match the woman that He's designed me to be, then it will be a GLORIOUS occasion!! So, basically, I've said all of that to say that when you see a woman happy and living her best life, you don't automatically have to assume it's because of a man. That's almost offensive.🥴 Why not just compliment her? Tell her you're rooting for her? Congratulate her on her journey? You making assumptions about why, is really only telling more about yourself and your thinking than hers. So, to my fellow sisters on this journey, hang in there! Keep it up! Congratulations!
