Tumblr media
Kava is a beverage or extract made from the Piper methysticum plant. In the South Pacific, it's a popular drink that is used in ceremonies for relaxation. What is kava?
Kava is also known as kava kava, and it comes from the root of the Piper methysticum plant.
Pacific Islanders have used this pepper plant for centuries for ritual and medicinal purposes to treat pain, anxiety, and insomnia. Its consumption is considered a way to strengthen the bonds between people while helping them communicate with the spirit.
Its active ingredient is kavalactone. They act as muscle relaxants and have similar effects to alcohol. They can cause babbling, relaxation, and euphoria but have not been reported to affect mental clarity increase directly.
There are many forms of Kava, including:

Reasons to use kava for Health
Insomnia
Although not the preferred treatment for insomnia, kava has been shown to help people fall asleep faster and provide better quality sleep.
The calming effect of the kava also helps relieve insomnia and improve sleep quality. It reduced stress and improved sleep quality in many patients with stress-induced insomnia. Patients suffering from sleep disorders with anxiety, tension, and restlessness are also effectively treated with kava extract.
The potential sedative effects of kava are due to blockade of sodium and calcium ion channels, increased neurotransmitter binding to GABA-A receptors, inhibition of monoamine oxidase B, and increased neurotransmitter norepinephrine and dopamine.

well, you deserve this baby
take you up to glory just to push you right down
young enough to know
that every girl goes through it once she does
did somebody run you dry like i did baby?
i felt so clean for once, didn't want you crying on my shoulder
but it gets so cold out here
it gets so cold out here

been looking for good music to meditate to bc i personally can't clear my mind in complete silence and honestly i've found the Between the Rings EP by Stellardrone is really good for that. it's just got such calming celestial vibes, and despite the somewhat short length, it can be looped very seamlessly, without feeling repetitive. haven't listened to anything else by Stellardrone yet but i'm a big fan of this EP tbh
