The Shenanigans are never-ending as the winter break draws to it's conclusion before everyone regroups in the spring:
Vol was so happy to spend time with Pazu they learned to tinker a bit over the winter. Thankfully with their natural armor they don't need thimbles.
They also tried to shoot their shot with Kasimir but one thembo and a nat twenty is not enough for a depressed for a 300+ year old depressed Elf. They had some quality floor time though.
Ya man Blinski has a whole bunch of new toys some of them look... familiar.
Milan and Guillaume have decided to spend a little quality time together.
Mirabel, Sonya, and Alenka owners of the Blood of the Vine decide to have a little fun with our dear Mortimer. Mortimer learns some EXCITING new things. Irina is very busy but finds amusement in catching up.
I guess Lythander digs it because he has DIRECTLY blessed his favorite boy.
Garland takes up smiting, much to the enjoyment of the general male-interested population of Kresk.
Garland finds out some stuff about his cursed sword (his dead husband, Creed, is in it) and has some quality time with him.
Garland and Osry check out the Abby. It's sus as fuck but they have shit to do so we'll just worry about that later.
Osry found something VERY INTERESTING in the library though...
Nothing bad better happen to Siegfried.
Getting down from the Abby proved tricky for these two. Thankfully the bard has featherfall
Next week... we'll see! Who knows what will happen in Curse of Strahd: Off the Shits - apologies to our DM @ankoku-jin

After the Foundry
I know they went to Foundry #5 after the big fight (hence the lack of outerwear), but then in mere hours, they find themselves on the train to end all things. They must be exhausted.

I'm still in a deep funk regarding the amount of time I spent rendering that didn't get me the result I wanted. But (and this is not advice to anyone else) what has worked for me is to run as far as I can in the other direction. Then, when I can turn around and see it without feeling sore, I can approach it again. Like so:
"I'm sad about not being able to make smooth, airbrushed portraits."
"Grab your most textured brushes and get in the car, bitch. It's time to get weird."

Husband's D&D 5E (sort of - homebrew universe and races) wild magic barbarian oni, Kasimir. I love drawing in this style.

Some things pay off in very unexpected ways. Sessions  ago Ferret got a Sending to Kasimir on Paelias’s behalf to ask when he’d join us... only she did it mimicing Paelias’s voice to have some fun, then Kasimir figured out it wasn’t Paelias speaking and got suspicious, leading to Ferret spending all her remaining spell slots for the evening on several Sendings.
A fun little moment that got even more hilarious now that we found out that Kasimir was sitting in the dungeons of Ravenloft while that entire thing happened... oops

Continuing to figure out what’s going on around Lake Zarovich involving a shit-ton of dead fish and a mad mage, this whole crew had quite the day:
- In the morning, Vol rustles up a dead sturgeon off the bottom of the lake (where it’s very cold and little decay is occurring.)  Pazu and Milan have two very different opinions on the matter and the group had fish for breakfast.
- After running in circles for a bit, Izel chatted with a local for more info.  Pulled a full on Kronk, and ms. squirrel was very helpful with directing us to a suspicious (and to her, very scary) elk.  (Semechki from Milan’s pack, was offered in compensation, of course.)
-  We found the remains of a family’s homestead, Mortimer is Mortimer (he surely didn’t mean to say that out loud.)  Jedidiah Devorak lived his homestead dreams until things went bad - a little story in the scope of Zorovia’s woes, but still a hard one.
- Vol, who’s tracking sucked all day, finally got the memo on what we were looking for and immediately spotted the suspicious elk, which turned out to be the Mad Mage himself.
- Pazuzu does a frightening amount of damage.
- Maverick uses an animal summons for some delicious irony.
- With the group’s usual luck (thank the morning lord - or we could have been toast), we managed to incapacitate the Mad Mage, tie him up, and are now holding on to him with the hopes we can get him back to Valaki and better sorted out after his mind got a bit scrambled.  Milan, contemplating the situation, tries to think of who this very powerful mage could even be, and comes to a terrifying conclusion (Milan is fine, he just talks like this.)
- This leads to shaving the old man (while he’s still unconscious) to see if he is truly is Mordenkainen.  Izel and Vol are awakened in the middle of the night to... this.
Bonus, poor Kasimir took a face full of cone of cold in the fight with the Mad Mage (Vol and Izel took a bit of it, but shrugged most of it off):

(He’s ok, but looked forward to a good night’s rest.)
... I hope these D&D posts are coherent - I’m condensing a lot of info into one spot, some of it a bit out of order or missing a lot of detail or nuance because, well, we cover a lot of ground in a single session.  I just aim for these to be funny and to show off our characters and problem solving, because I love them, and the care our DM has put into the campaign always shows.

The latest Oxventure Blades episode was probably one of their best. Just packed full of great moments, great jokes (I fucking LOVE a Mambo No. 5 reference, me) and excellent character work. Kasimir getting the ghost bird was awesome, Edvard slipping into a guarded room and ending the fight with the threat of a frag grenade was incredibly satisfying, and seeing Zillah taking people down with an industrial sized chain was just *chef's kiss*
I'll admit I was kinda hoping Edvard would just back out of the room and quickly huck the frag grenade before the door closed. Ah well.
