Summary:

Akiko can’t breathe

Akiko can’t breathe.

“Mitsumi, tie the datejime tighter.”

Akiko winces in pain, her young body constrained by the fabric that her grandmother is ordering the maid to tighten.

“Mother, I don’t think-”

Hiratsuka shuts her mouth under her mother’s harsh glare, and she can’t help but send Akiko an apologetic look.

Akiko hates odd weekend.

Sure, Tanjirou comes down from the mountains to spend time with her, but they’re confined within Higuchi’s small box. The idea that they must conform to fit her ideals and traditions.

“Tea at 12-”

“-and a walk in the gardens at 3 until supper,” Akiko mumbles under her breath. The same schedule since she can remember.

Higuchi nods her head as the orange kimono is draped over Akiko’s small body. It’s heavy and Akiko doesn’t like how her shoulders ache a little.

Obigae, obi, obijime, too many ropes and fabrics for Akiko to count. Her ribs trap her lungs and they start to crush under the pressure. So Akiko takes in small breaths, lifting her chin and trying to squeeze her body smaller than it already is.

Higuchi prides Akiko’s long and straight hair, silk to the touch and smoothly threading through her fingers like water. It shines thanks to the fact that Akiko was bathed not too long ago, but her skin feels raw and her scalp remembers the nails that scrubbed through it.

She can feel her hair being pulled every which way, clipped and pinned and tied and teased. Hiratsuka sees the pain in Akiko’s face but after a while it vanishes, and she’s used to the tugging. An elaborate hair piece is stuck into Akiko’s wildly arranged hair, but it’s heavy and Akiko’s neck strains under the weight.

“She’s done, Higuchi-sama,” Mitsumi says softly, taking a few steps back from her work and bowing lowly at Higuchi’s feet. Akiko can hear a satisfied hum from her grandmother as she’s inspected once again like a prized object.

“Higuchi-sama, the Kamados are here,” Kakera knocks behind the shoji and Akiko cats her head down. She hates the idea of Tanjirou looking at her on these days.

He says she’s pretty like a princess, and that he’s lucky to be her fiance. Akiko will strain to smile in thanks, but it just feels like Higuchi is playing with dolls.

Tanjirou is dressed up for these occasions as well. Or, well, as much as he can be dressed up. Akiko knows that she’s dressed far more elaborately than need be just so that Higuchi can remind the Kamados that their surname is ‘Tamura’.

That their family is rich and they aren’t.

It’s distasteful to say the least, and Akiko has come far too close to ripping every pin in her hair out or tearing all the ropes constricting her body to shreds.

Akiko’s steps are light and small, and it feels like forever before she arrives to the entrance of the house. Tanjirou smiles upon seeing how dressed up she always is, and her strained smile returns once again.

“Be good, alright?” Tanjuro says to his son, who nods his head with excitement. But Tanjuro can see how tired Akiko is, and the most he can do is offer her a gracious smile. Akiko bows her head as low as possible, hands tucked neatly in front of her and her hair ornament dangling in front of her face.

Akiko doesn’t want to believe that this is supposed to be how her married life will be.

Tea at 12 and a walk through the gardens from 3 till supper. Asleep by 10 and awake by 6, dressed by the maids by 8 for the day and repeat.

Sure, Tanjirou is by her side, but if Akiko is already so tired of this routine she worries for her future with her fiance.

Tanjirou notices that Akiko is far more quiet than usual today. Her movement is stiffer and she can’t keep the conversation going with he. Higuchi isn’t eating with the two for the day, so Tanjirou assumed that Akiko would be a bit more talkative, but that seems to be the opposite case.

“Are you alright, Akiko?” Tanjirou asks, watching as she mechanically takes a bite of her fish. Akiko nods her head, but Tanjirou can smell that she’s lying.

Rather, she’s lying to herself.

“Tanjirou, I’m not okay,” Akiko bitterly admits by his bedside.

It’s been a month since the upper six fight, and Tanjirou continues to sleep in the bed. All the IVs stuck into his arm and the wet towel on his forehead is painful to look at.

Years of lying to herself and she admits it to her coma induced fiance.

Akiko can’t breathe.

“She’s the doctor?”

Aoi glares at the patient, who points accusingly at Akiko. Akiko is in the midst of tugging some gloves on to clean her patient’s large gash on his right forearm, but judging by his tone the two can only assume that he’s going to refuse treatment.

“You’re kidding, right? Where’s the real doctor?!”

“She is the real doctor,” Aoi snaps.

“A doctor with a patient that hasn’t woken up in a half a month? Give me a break!” He points again at Tanjirou, who doesn’t even look to be breathing. Aoi glances over at Akiko in concern, but Akiko doesn’t even flinch under pressure.

“Sir, would you like me to treat you or not?” Akiko asks patiently.

“Where’s. The. Doctor.”

Akiko leaves the room right after, tossing her unused gloves into a bin with Aoi hot on her trail.

“Akiko, regardless of his poor attitude, we can’t just let a demon slayer bleed out!”

“I can’t force a patient to receive treatment. He’s on his own.”

Occurrences such as these have become much more common over time. And Akiko is far too tired to fight them on their decisions. She keeps her mouth shut and restrains her breathing.

As harsh as it sounds, Akiko would rather a demon slayer come to her unconscious. Because then, she wouldn’t have to fight them on why she’s a more than capable doctor.

Akiko doesn’t sound as soothing as Shinobu to convince the male demon slayers. And she’s not as stubborn as Aoi to induce treatment.

She’s tired of being shown off as a prize. Akiko refuses to alter herself in any way to show her worth, and if her services aren’t wanted, she’ll draw back and allow her patient to do as they please.

Who would have known that a baby would be the one to help Akiko to breath the least bit.

“Baby! Baby on the way!” Miruna crows right into Akiko’s ear, and she bolts up from her napping spot on the engawa. But with half her body hanging off, Akiko can’t help but to fall over the edge and land roughly on her side.

She hisses in pain, but there’s another thought in her mind that makes her heart pick up with speed.

“I’ve never helped deliver a baby.”

“The baby has a fever,” Aoi explains, hands on her hips as she rolls her eyes, and Akiko scrambles back over the engawa.

“Oh thank the gods.”

Regardless, Akiko changes into a fresh set of clothes. Babies are fragile, and their immune systems aren’t fully developed, so Akiko will have to be much more careful than usual when dealing with the baby.

Akiko walks into the medical ward, eyes barely brushing past Tanjirou as she settles her gaze on two others instead.

There’s a tall (tall) woman seated on one of the beds, her hair as pure a white and as soft looking as a cloud, with eyes so green they remind Akiko of moss. Her arms rival that of Genya’s and that alone is enough to impress Akiko.

But cradled within her arms is a bundle of blankets, and a baby red in the face.

“Oh my god are you the doctor? My baby sister is DYING!”

Akiko glances at the baby to see that their temperature is at a solid 100 degrees. The woman stuffs the baby into Akiko’s arms, and Akiko blinks in surprise.

“Here, is she dying?! I kill demons but I swear I dON’T KILL BABIES!” She’s a hysterical mess now and Akiko is trying her best to rock the baby, the sound of crying coming from both the demon slayer and the baby.

“Takenaka-san! Please get a hold of yourself!” Aoi scolds before taking the baby from Akiko’s arms, seeing the look of sheer panic in her face.

“You too Akiko! Don’t freeze up over a baby!” The baby calms down in Aoi’s arms instead, but she still fusses in her blanket.

Without the most knowledge on babies, Akiko still attempts to create a medicine to help, allowing the tall demon slayer into the lab so that she knows what’s going into the medicine.

“Your sister isn’t dying, Takenaka-san,” Akiko assures, finishing up with the medicine.

“She just has a fever.”

“You can just call me Chiyo. I’m the new forest pillar,” she laughs wearily, twirling around in the swivel chair as she patiently waits.

Akiko stops with her work to turn back around, “Tamura Akiko.”

“Oh! Oyakata-sama told me that you’re the official physician! Oh shit, sorry for going crazy. Ayame is super important to me!”

Akiko cracks a soft smile before Chiyo graciously accepts the bag of medicine.

“I would hope so, considering she’s your baby sister after all.”

Chiyo gapes at the medicine in her hands, “You’re done already? That’s so cool!”

“Please give your baby sister this medicine twice a day, morning and night. Make sure she’s drinking a bunch of fluids and sleeps as much as possible. I know she won’t want to sleep, but it’s important that she does,” Akiko quickly explains, filling out a piece of paper for Chiyo to remember what to do.

Chiyo nods her head thoughtfully at every word, and Akiko’s heart begins to mend.

Without needing to alter herself in any way, her services are accepted and she can breathe again.

“If you ever need anything else, let me know, alright?” Akiko folds her hands into her lap, and Chiyo smiles down at a seated Akiko.

“Me too! Just send a crow and I’ll zoom over to help you out, Doctor Tamura!”

Doctor.

Akiko is reminded to write a letter to her father to let him know that she’s a doctor now.

“There’s no way you’re the doctor!”

Akiko flinches as the tray of medicine is batted out of her hands, and the shattering of glass rings through her ears.

“You’re the doctor and you couldn’t save my leg! Are you fucking kidding me?!” The hunter rips the sheets off his body and Akiko looks at his amputated left leg. It’s the best she could do given that he arrived far too late to use it again.

Sumi rushes forward to collect pieces of the shattered cup, but Akiko holds an arm out to stop her.

“Your leg was already infected when you got here. I had no choice.”

“Bullshit! Where’s all your medicine huh?! Doctors know more than to just saw off someone’s goddamn leg!”

Sumi watches with worry as Akiko picks up the pieces of the cup, listening to every word of hate pouring out of the slayer’s mouth with nothing to say back. Once she’s done picking up the shattered shards, she folds them into a nearby cloth before throwing them out in a bin on her way out of the room.

“Akiko-san…” Sumi calls out weakly, tugging at her hakama. “Are you okay?”

“He’s in shock, Sumi. Let’s leave him be.”

Akiko hates herself for crying by Tanjirou’s bedside the night after the slayer leaves.

“Tanjirou, I’m not okay,” she cries silently, head buried into her arms near his side as she’s afraid to touch the multiple IVs.

“You’ve been asleep for a month, Tanjirou. I don’t know how you got through your day with Nezuko asleep for two years… Your heart stops at random times and you break out into a fever every other day.”

Akiko struggles to remember to breathe, hiccuping through her words with hands that shake when gripping the sheets.

“This is such a stupid war… Tanjirou, we’re kids and we fight this awful war and I hate it now. I’m so afraid I’ll lose you again. But this time, it’ll be my fault because you’re laying right in front of me and I won’t be able to do anything!”

Zenitsu returns to the estate later that night, and he hates how he can hear traces of Akiko’s crying. He finds her by Tanjirou’s bedside, her fingers barely wrapped Tanjirou’s own fingers.

He frowns at her sound, regretting not coming back to the estate for so long and leaving Akiko to fight a mental war by herself for a month.

So Zenitsu picks her up and carries her to her bed, tucking Akiko in and wiping the residue of tears from her face.

Hi, random readers that have stumbled upon this blog!

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?

Listen, do you know what the fuck I listen to when I write this stuff?

Normal people listen to music, right? Maybe a podcast?

I’m on youtube listening to things like “BRITAIN’S CRAZIEST SERIAL KILLER” or “ALASKAN TROOPERS” or some other show that’s kind of morbid and not exactly the right setting as this. OTL I don’t really listen to music when writing because I get distracted and I start singing along to it.

I don’t really have any recommendations either since y’know, serial killer shows and stuff. (And music in a kitchen setting is kinda…really distracting. Distracting in the slipping and falling down the stairs sort of way.) But listen to whatever you feel like. Something with a good beat, maybe. Or, hang on, let me dig something up.

The NieR soundtrack is pretty good. (I’m talking both the original NieR and Automata. I learned the entire Shadowlord song because someone actually had the phoentic lyrics somewhere.) I would maybe listen to some Fujita Maiko. Something like her “Unmei no Hito” song or “Nee” or “Mizufuusen”. (I was a fan of her’s way back when the Hiiro no Kakera series first came out and almost jumped on board to translate the game. But…scared and lazy.)

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

vagarious: erratic and unpredictable in behavior or direction

I just took out the “o” lol. It’s kind of ironic now bc I’m pretty predictable when it comes to fics...

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos)

Subscriptions: crumble; throw, which is one of my only multichap works and like the only one i’ve actually updated... still have to get out that last chapter though iT WILL HAPPEN

Hits: housework, a short kurokage fic which for some reason has 1711 hits

Kudos/Bookmarks: phones, which is my free/hq wrong-number crossover fic with 264 kudos and 42 bookmarks (it was a lot of fun to write)

3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?

N/A (oops)

4. Do you have any regular/ favorite commenters?

odoridango and bystander have commented on a lot of my hq!! fics (thank you!!!!!) and horchata has written me some of the sweetest comments ever. And all my boueibu fics tend to have the same few commenters @nardaviel @mystofthestars @thatlittledandere @angelluckovich kakera

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

There are quite a few, actually. Pretty much all of @fortune-maiden‘s boueibu fics bc they always make me smile, the vld fics Recoil/Release and Keith’s ‘Physical Contact’ Initiation Program, and all the gift fic people have written me and Distractions and Pliant by tastewithouttalent but they’re both enatsu smut and i’m embarrassed. I go back to pretty much all my bookmarks but sometimes I have to be in a certain mood to read them, I guess.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked?

24 subscriptions, 108 bookmarks

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

um... slice of life aus, I suppose? most of the stuff i write is loosely canon compliant now that i think about it...

27 user subscriptions and 477 total bookmarks (to works)

9. Is there something you’d like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

My more outlandish crossovers, I suppose. like dark!boueibu x vld

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.

I’d like to get better at writing fantasy/adventure. And actually writing longer fic. (I can usually plan it out but have trouble actually getting the words on paper when there’s just so much stuff and a majority of the time the fic veers off and i have to plan again...)

11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?

Rarepairs, I think. Or relatively popular ships in small fandoms :P

12. How many stories have you posted on AO3 to this day (finished and unfinished)?

48 (!!!)

13. How many stories do you have saved in/with your writing program?

oh god... too many... and they’re spread throughout three devices + an online drive

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I mostly jot down snippets and lines and other small ideas like that to incorporate/develop into a fic later on. And I’ll layout longer fic if I intend to write said fic. Though there’s some things (mostly AUs and crossovers) I don’t intend to write but keep in my head to keep my thoughts warm.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

No, but I have participated in collaborative things like the free! shipping relay and hqbb

16. How did you discover AO3?

I honestly don’t remember.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on AO3?

haha no

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

um, if ever asked, I just say “Elena,” which is my first name, so...

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

There wasn’t a specific author, but the fic catch a falling star by hoshruba is the fic that inspired me to really get into fic writing. I had written pjo/hoo fic on ffnet before then, but catch a falling star is when I started to get serious (for lack of a better term) about it

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Like what you write. Which is crappy advice, I know, but if you write what you want to read and are happy with it, then you’ll keep writing, and when you keep writing you’ll inevitably improve, even if it doesn’t feel like it. You’ll improve bc, at least for me, the more fic I published the more I wanted to publish, and the more I had to learn how to do to write things. Ideas burst out of me at the seams. So write those short drabbles and ramble-ly one-shots and just. Enjoy them. Like what you write.

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I typically plot out longer stories, but my planning stages tend to just be random bursts of ideas and lines in an unorganized list. On the other hand, there are quite a few fics of mine that I started and finished within one sitting - it felt like they wrote themselves.

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I haven’t gotten a bad comment that I remember (there are probs a few on my old fics but whatever), but I have gotten some weird/funny comments on said old fics on ffnet.

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

Action. Fantasy. Fantasy action. Most things outside of slice of life, now that i’m thinking about it...

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

Too many, omg. I still have that last part of crumble; throw, and I also have an iokin fic I want to finish but it’s gotten out of hand... also a long keith (vld) fic but we’ll see how that goes. Plus all my little ideas floating around in various electronic devices.

25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Um, the stories ideas kinda just... happen... and whichever I finish/start first are the ones I finish/start first.

26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

Not a daily one, but when I do sit down to write I try to go for at least 300-400 words (though if I really sit down to write it’ll typically go beyond that)

27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?

Definitely (hopefully)

28. What is your favorite story that you’ve written?

an endless start of april, probably

29. What is your least favorite story that you’ve written?

There’s no fic I’ve written that I actively dislike. If I posted it, I like it, at least a little.

30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Still writing fic, lol

31. What is the easiest thing about writing?

For me? Writing dialogue, probably.

32. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Starting.

33. Why do you write?

I first started writing because there was stuff I wanted to read but couldn’t find, so I wrote it myself. I don’t think that’s changed. I also think it’s fun to explore emotions and how they translate in to action (or lack of action).

favorite yuri & shoujo ai

man i’ve been sitting on this for a while now but it’s finally basically finished. I’ve written a short summary along with noted whether there is sexual content, general warnings about content, and length (it always annoys me when i read a good looking synopsis only to find out it’s just a one shot). My favs have asterisks next to them. happy reading!

20 Year Old Girl x 30 Year Old Maiden: a young girl falls in love with her former instructor. (short ish; COMPLETED)

Ano Musume ni Kiss to Shirayuri o: Girl who just wants to be number one challenges the girl who is naturally the best at everything. Nice development, cute art, interesting characters. Soft and sweet and engaging. (long; ONGOING)

Aoi Hana: A manga about girls in school who navigate their desires and lives as they age and the people around them change. One of my favorite authors who has other series that are definitely worth the read. Has sexual content but not gratuitous if i remember correctly?? (52 chapters; COMPLETED)

Apocalypse: Special items in a video game bring a girl and her crush closer together. No actual concrete relationship starts but definite cute and soft feelings that I liked. (three chapters; COMPLETED)

*Asagao to Kase-san: Girl meets another girl whole watering the morning glories and falls in love. suffers a little from “but we’re both girls!” in the beginning but is pretty temporary. Has sexual content. (longer; ONGOING, but definitely has a good chunk of story finished)

*Bright and Cheery Amnesia: girl loses all her memories and wakes up in the hospital to her girlfriend. Though she’s shocked, it seems that spending three years together and being in love transcends any difficulties. SUPER CUTE. Has some sexual content but not graphic. (medium length currently?; ONGOING)

*Chatting at the Amber Teahouse: A sweet and slow paced manga about a girl who works at a tea house and is in love with the owner. One of my absolute favorites for its atmosphere and pacing. (21 chapters counting extras and prologue; COMPLETED)

*Double House: Trans woman working at a bar and a girl who’s run away from her upper class family become neighbors. I really really like the art and atmosphere of this; it’s very lovely and softly engaging. (it’s by the same artist of pieta, my ultimate favorite) (3 chapters; COMPLETED)

*Ebisu-san and Hotei-san: When a woman transfers to her department, the main character feels antagonistic towards her aloof attitude and goes out of her way to make her feel unwelcome. This all changes when she receives insight into the other woman’s life and her feelings become very different. very cute and subtle with a sweet ending. ???????? (6 chapters plus extra; COMPLETED)

*Exciting Feelings (also Fluttering Feelings): girl becomes friends with a popular girl and they slowly develop feelings for eachother. (as of now i’m the translations they have not yet gotten together but the slow burn is realllll goood) (longer; ONGOING)

Girl Friends: A classmate approaches a girl who is generally alone in the class and invites her to join her friend group. They end up developing feelings for eachother. Pretty good, not my favorite but definitely worth the read when u can. (COMPLETED)

Hide in the Flowers - girls at a magic academy; cute but not story heavy (shorter; ONGOING)

Houro Musuko: About a trans girl who grows up and is both affected by and affects those around her. A little sensationalized imo but has such a great host of characters and that good soft art. Less romance more coming of age but is lesbian or at least girl loves a girl in the long term so .. Read It. Has sexual content but it’s conducive to character development so doesn’t count. (123 chapters; COMPLETED)

Irrational Us: About a lesbian office worker with a sort of off putting, twisted personality (as much as i hate to use that word lol). Super interesting main character. (10 chapters; ONGOING)

**Manga no Tsukurikata: A manga artist decides to date a girl she knows from work who has confessed to her in order to write yuri manga. Turns out the younger girl is also a manga artist, and one that she idolizes. Very sweet and slice of life & a relationship that develops slowly but sweetly into something very sincere. This has been one of my favorite series for a long time. (longer; COMPLETED)

Mars no Kiss: rebellious girl who has an older boyfriend and thinks of herself as emotionally and sexually more mature than those around her is seated near honors student and falls in love. does NOT end with mutual feelings, unfortunately, but DOES end on a happy note. has sexual content. * Renai Joshika: Office ladies romance!! Has prequels and sequels to stuff in a lapis lazuli blue dream. Has sexual content. (9 chapters plus extras; ONGOING?)

My Girlfriend’s Ex-Boyfriend: While sleeping after having sex, the main character’s girlfriend speaks in her sleep and causes the main character to feel uneasy in their relationship and leads to her investigating her girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend and a few misunderstandings. Has sexual content. (longer; ONGOING)

Nanashi no Asterism: Three girls who become friends but end up in a love triangle amongst themselves. No real relationship ever occurs but i think i liked this one for the characters and their friendship and the communication between them. Has a sweet but not romantic ending. (23 chapters; COMPLETED)

Octave: Former idol falls in love with a music composer. Not my favorite (a lot of focus on sex, girl cheats on her gf with a man at one point), but has some very good moments, well developed characters, and a heavier atmosphere that u might like if u can get thru the rest of it. I think the reason that it made my list despite its faults is because it’s actually long (which is so hard to find) and bc the relationship between the girls changes and develops a lot. Has a lot of sexual content. (36 chapters; COMPLETED)

*Omoi no Kakera: A lesbian school girl who works at a cafe navigates her life and identity while making friends and affecting the lives of other people in her own way. Has other stories that are connected to the main one in different ways that are also very interesting. (15 chapters ??? (too many extras to count lol); COMPLETED)

Partition: Girl who is obsessed with cute things seems to accidentally capture one of her coworker’s embarrassing moments. To get back at her, her coworker snaps a picture of them kissing for blackmail. After that, both of them gain a new awareness for eachother. Seems cute so far and the art is super lovely. **Pieta: About a girl with an abusive family who struggles with self harm and abandonment issues. She starts an odd sort of relationship with another girl, who also struggles with mental illness. They bond over this and other things and help eachother work through their issues. A little codependent imo but such a beautiful story with incredible contemplative aspects that had me in awe. Especially love bc their relationship is incredibly deep and emotional and only slightly romantic, with a happy ending and that at no point “but we’re both girls!” or homophobia of any sort plays a role is a great added bonus. *Plica: Lesbian woman navigates her (love) life after a close friend’s wedding and contemplates on hers and others sexualities. Really cute. Has sexual content. (132 SHORT chapters; COMPLETED)

*Poor Poor Lips: Poor girl comes to work at the power stones shop of a well off lesbian woman. Super super sweet and slow developing and definitely worth the read. Probably one of if not my favorite series on this list. ?????? (75 chapters; COMPLETED)

Pure Marionation: a robot girl going to school and making friends and navigating the life of a high school girl. The art style of this one is not… super choice, but has cute and original concepts that i enjoyed and let me mostly overlook those huge eyes and weirdly molded faces .. has some nudity and some slightly suggestive content but is overall not sexual. (18 chapters; COMPLETED)

*Renai Manga: An aspiring manga editor is in charge of the author whose work changed her life. However, she’s completely different from what she thought and, despite being a little dispirited due to that, she grows to respect and enjoy her personality and company. cute and lighthearted!! *Sasameki Koto: Girl in love with her lesbian best friend but unable to make a move bc her friend only likes “cute girls.” SO GOOD, very sweet, 100% recommend. great development, lots of sweet side characters, and overall a great manga. (53 chapters; COMPLETED)

Sayonara Folklore: At a girls school, there is a superstition that if you touch another girl on monday, you must recite a charm or else risk being cursed by two girls who committed a lovers suicide together. However, when a transfer student comes, she seems to disregard this and pull the main character along with her as they break the rules together. Cute art, great ending. There’s some “i’m in love with my sister!” stuff going on that is super misleading but that’s Not how it is. No sexual content. (9 chapters plus extras; COMPLETED)
