I was listening to a podcast recently and something that was said jumped right out of my 📱 and punched me right in the jaw. Here’s the message; If you’re not chasing your dreams, your visions, your deepest desires for your life, you’re neglecting yourself and it should be a crime. Furthermore, if you have children, you’re neglecting them 😳 I know! I get it! That’s a hard flipping right hand by Mike Tyson right there for some of us, but it’s true. Thanks to @hardworkpaysme I found out what I was really made of with his ab program. #justshowup makes a difference in all other aspects of life, keep plugging, you not get the desired results, or look like him! (My gawd) but I'm stronger cardiovascularly, and I have a tighter core to help with other exercises. This was this past Saturday, I might need another 30days of this to really be tight. Learning to cope.

Sometimes depression is just not doing anything. No motivation to get up. To eat. To move. To take out my contacts. To not take care of myself.

Sometimes I give in and I fall asleep right there. Just like that. Cause what’s the point. I didn’t do anything I wanted to tonight anyway.

On a rarity, I get up and try to accomplish as many things as I can in the time I have left.

So here it goes. I have two hours left in my night.

I have to get the laundry.

Fold it.

Put it away*

Exercise

Shower

Make dinner

I feel like the hardest part of fighting my depression is doing something even if it’s not everything. Get the momentum started and tackling as much as I can without giving back up and calling it quits. My anxiety and control issues tell me that if I can’t do it all, or if I procrastinated this long why even try? I don’t know where I developed this mentality but I’m trying to learn coping skills to combat that thought process.

Which starts with accepting that...

Dishes and groceries will have to wait.

Organizing my school stuff will have to wait.

Vacuuming.

Unpacking.

Itll have to wait, and that’s okay.

Hopefully that builds up and tomorrow will be be easier.

Maybe tomorrow I won’t want to sleep forever.

But for tonight. I talked myself into it.

I’m getting up.

I’m being productive with the time I have.

I’m showing up.
