anyway here’s my two cents on who’s making the cut for these 10 shadowhunter romance stories!! (See Cassandra Clare’s latest announcement about better in black)

tid: idk i feel like this could be a rogue Sophie/gideon or cecily/Gabriel moment. or wessa with jem existing too. who really knows but all of the above i would enjoy <3

tlh: um maybe hopefully plz thomas and Alastair we barely got to see them actually be a couple I feel like so that would be fun. I would also love a luciejesse or herondaisy moment <3

tmi: um well OBVIOUSLY this is what I’m most excited for because i have a normal attatchment to the characters of the mortal instruments. ANYWAY i want sizzys proposal in full detail. we got the clace and the malec ones give them the lovely proposal that i deserve to read. pay them RESPECT. i would also looooove a clace story like any at all. i love and miss them dearly. I would also love a malec story with the kids bc we have literally hardly seen into their family life after they got Rafael but maybe that’s what tec3 is for idk cassandra doesn’t acknowledge its existence. but also if they’ve had two books I’m not exactly sure if she’s writing more about them. DO NOT GET ME WRONG!!! I would loooooove more malec content im not an IDIOT but like idk. but also they’re fan favorites so i just don’t know. im trying to see into cassandra’s mind and it’s not working. i would also actually drop dead to the floor and cease to exist if it was centered around the tmi gang as a whole going on a date night all together triple date moment!!! THATS what i want but i think that’s a bit idk it’s j not gonna happen. unfortunately for me. whatever ill take what i can get and reread the brunch story. I love the brunch story.

tda: well Cassandra’s use of the word throuple makes me assume it’s a safe bet to think one of them will be kierarktina but there’s also the delusional thought that she’s talking about herongraystairs. so idk abt that but yeah kierartina. a Diana and Gwyn moment would also be like somewhat shocking but fun and fresh. idk there’s not that many tda couples tbh. emma and Julian already got their moment in sobh and i don’t wanna read about them so I’m hoping it’s not them. idk

misc: the thing is i feel like this project is very ambiguous bc the theme is just live and romance so it could be anything like people who were never officially couples. unrequited love is fun. kit and ty moment. but also they’re the focus of twp so im just not gonna go there and Cassie may not either. i was also thinking abt this and a malcolm and annabelle story would be reallyyy interesting. also they don’t really fit into one specific series but they’re around in tec,tmi and tda bc they’re awesome i would LOVE a Helen and aline centered story like tell me about their time on wrangel island because we know next to nothing about that seemingly important place and what the hell goes on there. and helen and aline get fuck all in these books. anyway. that’d be a good time. also like. she said there may be some spice . but like i want love confessions and silly goofy character moments and actual stories not just characters going at it yk. so liek what are the vibes here cassandra…

if you haven’t, i recommend reading the novella books:

- the bane chronicles is fun especially if you like magnus.

- tftsa was so cute i loved her (read nothing but shadows before you read tlh)!!

- ghosts of the shadow market is definitely super important for world building for tlh and twp, so i strongly recommend reading it before them (it could be a little boring at times, i admit. but jessa is adorable). read cast long shadows and every exquisite thing before you read tlh. the rest is a lot of world building for kit’s background and jessa.

- OH OH also read the tec series if you haven’t (it follows malec) and i think it’ll eventually connect to twp.

- i believe cassie has these short stories about the tlh cast set before chain of gold. i remember reading them every month on her newsletter before the book came out. i think you can find them on her website? they’re not super important but they do get referenced once in a while in tlh

you probably know all of this and i probably mansplained (can you do that if you’re a girl?) everything 😭 but it’s better to be safe than sorry!! i hope you had fun reading everything and def let me know if you have any questions!

I'm gonna do my best to answer this in a comprehensive manner (let's see how long that lasts lol). You're my fave! (feel free to pop into my messages if you ever wanna chat or anything)

Okay I'm gonna start by saying that I had a strange relationship w TDA. I mentioned some of this in my initial post but I'm just gonna go through everything for continuity sake, if you will. Last summer I intended to finish the 3 series before my semester started. I got through all of TMI and TID but finished only LM and 150-ish pages of LoS. I waited till this summer to pick back up. I remember feeling bitter when I started LM because it was strange to have a modern-set book that didn't focus on my fave TMI gang (I watched the CoB movie religiously when I was younger and, before I knew better, watched the show weekly). It took me a while for Emma to grow on me and I initially had a hard time keeping track of all of the Blackthorns because there were so many of them. What kept me going were all of the connections to Mr. Poe (yes, I just called him that. deal with it.) I've started rambling so let me summarize this portion by saying that TDA didn't snatch me up until mid-LoS. okay, onward.

QoAaD was so reminiscent of CoHF and I loved it very much. WARNING SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO MAY READ THIS FOR SOME UNGODLY REASON. I appreciate the importance of the Thule portion and know the book would be shit without it, but, despite it still being fantastical, the apocalyptic vibe was not my fave. It was nice to get Livvy back for a bit (can I just say how shocking it was to have her death right after Robert? cause I feel like cc v rarely kills important characters so I thought Robert was fulfilling the death requirement yk?) and I LOVE to hate Sebastian. I'm gonna say something crazy here. I love Kit and Kieran more than I love a majority of the Blackthorns. Kit has been my fave character from this trilogy and I am not ashamed to admit it. The entire Ty Livvy spell shit was crazy because I completely felt Kit and wasn't angry at him for not outright saying that it was a bad idea, especially given the situation. I just can't believe cc had me expecting them to be fully in love with each other by then end, ONLY FOR THEM TO NOT EVEN BE ON SPEAKING TERMS (yes I know I need to be up to date w SoBH, I just need business day or two to marinate in my TDA emotions). The battle was epic, Julien's meeting was genius, Kieran is a great king, and the Malec wedding nearly had me sobbing. I'm gonna stop here w my thoughts on QoAaD cause it's getting out of hand. I am so sorry I am typing you up a full essay.

Predictions:

watch cc give us a 3rd plot that gets crazy because of some questionable heavenly fire incident (I mean, technically all three series plots that I've read have involved it if you count Jace's affect on Jem).

I'm super worried about a main character death because I think it would shatter me but it's also probably necessary? idk I dont wanna think about it

I also feel like something crazy is gonna happen to Aline and Helen because although they were literally exiled, nothing too traumatic happened to them in the main line of the story that the reader got to directly experience

not a prediction but truly me BEGGING ON MY KNEES for Jace and Kit content. I need them to be drama Herondales together. Also, Jace literally told him to come to him for personal advice so Jace helping Kit deal w his relationship w/feelings for Ty would be ideal (I really don't know how that would happen but let a person dream)

Final Segment:

Don't worry about mansplaining, youre good bae. I'm in the loop but I'm also not at the same time, if that makes any sense at all (there goes my promise of writing in a comprehensive manner). The only reason I haven't purchased the novellas is solely because it's more efficient for me to purchase a box set of a trilogy. (I do have the Codex and The Denizens of the Downworld books though). CC has done her best to make her world make sense but that woman writes up a storm and no matter what I'm always behind lol.

So honestly, I'd thought of giving my other fic-- "the things we cannot say" more angst and gangster vibes along these lines lol, though there may be opportunity to include that 😅

That's beside the point sorry. Tangents are my specialty. But some of that desire of gang relations did bleed into “Just a thought”...

Which is how we start off:

Feyre is working for the Hale family at their small business in downtown Velaris.  It’s not what she wants to be doing, but hey, she gets to work with her somewhat-but-not-really-boyfriend Isaac, too so that’s a plus.

She’s trying to save up for college, which is harder than she thought it would be thanks to her father’s gambling debts--they are BROKE.  But she does what she can.

Until she starts noticing things are off in the book keeping.  Now, admittedly, Feyre’s never been the best scholastically.  At least, that’s what everyone (especially Isaac) have told her.  But she does have a thing for numbers.  So she decides to take the notebooks and accounts home with her.

She spends the weekend pouring over them.  And slowly, she notices discrepancies.  And she realizes what is happening.

Now she has no idea what to do.  This is way, way out of her league.  But she goes to the local PD station and meets with the stupidly handsome police captain Helion who tells her to sit tight.

That Monday who walks in but two of the most beautiful men she’s ever seen.  Rhysand Nox and Azriel Torres.  They start chatting up Isaac and his dad and soon Feyre hears about a deal going down for laundered money and she is freaking out.  What the actual hell is going on.

And then the one names Rhys turns to her and winks, flirts outrageously and then is gone.

Isaac isn’t please, but Feyre’s a little mad at him so she tells him to take her out on a real date and then he can talk.

Flash forward a few days (though, maybe more to give some forbidden romance/tension vibes between feysand here?? hmmm)

 and Feyre is forced to meet Isaac in some disgusting alley with a suit case, because oops, she didn’t hide her tracks very well and the Hales know that she knows they’re laundering money and working with some pretty nasty people.  

Seriously, is it too much to ask for a nice, simple job so that she can go to college?

While she and Isaac are arguing and she’s trying to dial the cops from her pocket, Rhysand and Azriel make an appearance.  They strike a deal with Isaac and pull a briefcase of fresh money into their custody.  When they ask about Feyre, Isaac says “accidents happen.”

In a matter of seconds they go from sleek and dangerous gangster footmen to pulling out guns and badges.  Lights blare and Feyre is shoved to the ground when Isaac tries to make a run for it.

Later that night, after Feyre gives her statement, she’s sitting in the precinct waiting for her sisters to come and pick her up.

Rhys gives her a cup of tea that is disgusting, but the warms bleeding through the cup is nice so she holds it in her hands.  They talk for a bit about what had happened and why Feyre came forward.

She almost tells him about her dad and how she wishes someone had intervened with him sooner and she thought that stopping the Hales might do Isaac some good, fat chance.  But she keeps that tid bit to herself for a while longer.

In the end, she and Rhys strike up something sort of special between them and it blossoms from there--between coffee at 2 am, strange meetings by street vendors, and then a date to the local art museum.

Their entire first meeting and getting to the actual dating could basically be a full fic if i’m not careful, lol.  But yeah, that’s the general idea I was thinking of while writing.  And now that I have this headcanon list, I may be able to turn it into something a little longer....

My beloved, my absolute bestie I LOVE THIS MAN. He's so funny, and I love his friendship with Jem so much. Also goes without saying I am completely in love with him I just want him to give me a hug, and also to give him a hug cause he needs it. I just couldn't understand him at the start of tid when he was being mean (couldn't help but love him even then tho), and then finding out the reason why he was pushing everyone away was heartbreaking, and then to discover that it was all a trick was just... there's something so tragic about his childhood and how much he lost because of what happened, and it just like... I could cry I'm not even-

Personally I don't ship him romantically with Jem (obviously full respect for those who would disagree with me, no hate at all), I absolutely love their friendship and again it's so tragic how little time they got to properly spend together. Also his relationship with Magnus!! I love them as a duo it's so good 😂

I just like... I can't express how much I love him. Also he's Welsh, so that immediately scores points with me 😌 if they make a TV show of tid and make Will English I will actually riot

Also him sort of living on in the tmi gang, with Jace's general vibes (and fear of ducks ofc) and Alec's appearance makes me happy :)

In conclusion: 10/10, if he had a booktok I would follow it and turn notifications on for his posts, he's definitely one of my favourites I just love himmmmmm ugh

I think technically my least favorite series would be The Eldest Curses. Trosm was a fun romp in my memory (I did read it back when it came out so) but like 3 details stuck with me and I very recently read The Lost Book of the White and thought it was just okay. Generally the things I liked most in these books/what made them worthwhile were side plots of other chars that had little to nothing to do with Malec… would say The Lost Book of the White is my least favorite book too rn if there’s a tmi book I dislike more then it’s been too long for me to say, and I definitely enjoy all the other main books and each short story collection more than it.

Of just the four primary series my instinct would be to say TMI is my least favorite but also it has admittedly been a while so maybe if I revisited the nostalgia would kick in and I wouldn’t feel that way anymore… both TMI and TLH have elements I really like and elements that are frustrating to me I’d say but in very different ways but the overall cast of chars and vibe in TLH is more appealing to me I think. (again my documented preference as a TID&TDA stan when it comes to this verse is Strong obviously lol)

TDA is the series where I love all of the mains/major chars I’m meant to like so none of them are candidates TDA gang you will always be loved by me <3 but in terms of minor chars I’m meant to like Jaime Rosales gives me bad vibes.

TLH it’s not nearly to the extent of hate or even real dislike but I’m not a fan of Jesse or James they both mostly bore me, but I do enjoy James in the context of Jordelia whereas Lucie x Jesse leaves me cold (I’m firm in my Lucie should be a lesbian stance <3) so Jesse.

in TDA again I love all the primary couples for this series I’m supposed to root for but the tease of something with Dru/Jaime in TWP makes me uncomfortable tbh but I know I’m not the only one who feels that way and Judith has become more reactive to criticism over the years so I can only hope she snipes the idea.

in TLH again Lucie x Jesse like the concept of their romance is so good but the actual thing fell flat to me and again Lucie should have been a lesbian and her and Grace should have kissed peace and love <3

Tsc & Hogwarts Houses

If you really think about it, each tsc series is its own Hogwarts house.

TMI is without doubt Gryffindor. The gang is brave, bold and reckless. From the little girl stopping the big war, to the shadowhunter kissing the warlock in the accords hall, to the teenage vampire summoning Raziel - they are a bunch of fearless idiots. They literally have visited hell more than once and have been involved in every major war. You also cannot deny that they were a little arrogant and hotheaded too. The story itself focuses on fighting and facing danger valiantly. It talks about fighting your own demons and fight for what is good. Finally, TMI revolves around defeating Valentine, Sebastian and the Endarkened - who are all shadowhunters too.  As Dumbledore said, courage is not just about standing up to enemies, but to our friends as well. 

TID is Hufflepuff. While the gang definitely is quite intelligent, I feel like their defining traits are kindness, loyalty and hardwork. I have always felt that the TID gang has been more empathetic and understanding towards each other than the rest of them. From Charlotte who took care of the abandoned children to Sophie who is fiercely loyal to her friends and of course we have the Lightwood brothers who gave up their family to support what is just snd good. Every TID member is about fairness and goodness. Despite the early era, they all treated downworlders with respect and empathy. They treated women like equals and not inferiors. And don’t forget that TID has the most hufflepuffest-babe in tsc history - James Carstairs himself. It also has Herongraystairs who are epitome of sacrifice, understanding and kindness. The story also focuses on core Hufflepuff traits. It teaches us about being humble and accepting our flaws. Most importantly, it teaches about acceptance - that we are all people looking for love and comfort. 

TDA gives massive Slytherin vibes. And it ain’t just because of my son Julian Blackthorn. From the continuously mind blowing plot twists to the necromancy to the parabatai curse to the secrets in the seelie courts to the rise of the cohort, everything about TDA screams ambition. The story itself revolves around heavily motivated individuals who are all on their personal journeys to achieve certain goals - while straying between the line which separates which is right and wrong. We cannot also deny that the characters aren’t afraid to blindly destroy what is in their path to save what they love. It talks about doing whatever it takes to protect what is yours - whether we are talking about the cohort or the blackthorns. There is so much cunning, trickery and strategy involved - teaching us that these are not bad traits, especially if we use it for the right purpose.  The story of TDA ultimately teaches us about being smart and resourceful, about using the right strategy and making the right decisions.  

TLH so far is Ravenclaw. Every character is extremely intelligent in their own way. Whether we are talking about Lucie and her writing or Christopher and his chemistry or Charles and his politics or Cordelia and Cortana or Anna and her style or James and his books or Thomas and his languages or Alastair and his mundane knowledge, they are all individually talented and they very much know it. This gang is creative, original and very much cultured. They enjoy mixing with the mundane culture and learning from them. They are not afraid to step out of the status quo and be different, be bold, be unique.

valentine morgenstern: 100% would be a unionist, this man hates downworlders and irish mythology is extremely important to this day (my old family farm has a fairy tree that every owner of the land has refused to disrespect for the past 100 years, it’s still just standing there in the middle of an empty field lmao) so a culture respecting the fae? immediate enemies

horace and zara dearborn: exact same reasoning as valentine smh

sebastian morgenstern: this man does not give a shit. just. absolutely does not care.

axel mortmain: i dont think so he gives me “fuck the state” vibes, he supports overturning oppresive power 

church: church is above the whims of mortals, he has no care for our wars and nations. not neutral, just simply above

the seelie and unseelie courts: they dont particularly give a shit about mortal affairs but ireland respects them so they support the independence.

i think you're right! it could still ride the TID wave of Shadowhunters euphoria the book community was going through. now everyone seems to have moved on to the TDA gang, and it really feels like CC is just writing TLH because she signed a damn contract, and I don't really see it changing

for some reason the tda gang and overall vibe managed to not only resurrect but magnify TSC hype, and though I personally don't understand the appeal, CC is unfortunately the kind of author to follow that instead of her own heart :c

The Episode of Lost Opportunities AKA 2x16

SO I wrote this before watching the promo, then I did and now I know most of us are just FREAKING out about next week (and I’m freaking out the most because ummm they’remakingmyfanficintoanactual EPISODE!!! How does one deal with this????)  but if you want a break from freaking out, here are some thoughts on last night’s episode!

So even though 2x16 was perfectly enjoyable, I’m going to have to officially re-name it “The Episode of Lost Opportunities” because there were so many plots and just tid-bits they could have done great things with.

So yeah not really a review today, instead I’m going to (in true Jenny Nicholson fashion) make a numbered list of things I think they should have added /done something with, in no particular order.

Miss nr. 1. Not having Higgy tease Magnum back with British pet names. I’m honestly devastated by this. Like what would a little sarcastic “come on luv” or a “Dearie, come here” from Juliet have cost them? The closest we got was Babe take our selfie.

Nr. 2. Not having Mr. Dorky Helpful But Cute guy ask Higgy out. I really thought this was where it was going with him being all “it’s just our second date, we met online” and yeah even though he looked about 12, it would have fit the episode. 

Plus they could have had Magnum standing to the side gesturing like “go for it” and her either saying yes or no and later her and Magnum having a little chat about it. The Yes with him being all “I convinced you to do it” proud and also mildly jealous. The No, with her being all “he’s a suspect” or “he went on a love bus tour!” or “I’m not ready, bc of the dead fiance, remember him?”

Nr. 3. Which takes us neatly to - drowned guy should be bringing up some feelings for Juliet as I’m fairly certain back in Day of The Viper they mention something about how Richard washed up on the shores of something-something (I mean obvs he was shot before but I’d still imagine some associations there).

Also her own almost drowning in 1x19 (even if this episode’s dude wasn’t drowned, it did seem so at first and he was still in the water). I just feel maybe there could have been some feelings here that our favorite duo actually talked about. Just a nice little call back to either one of those would have been great. One line! Is that too much to ask for?

Nr. 4 on the list of missed opportunities is for me going to be Theresa (Teresa?). TC’s old flame. And this is a big one! 

I honestly would have loved it if they went with this - as in have him not be so damned noble and let the childhood sweetheart go. Like, why not have them actually try to make a go at it?

Maybe she could have been there with just her boyfriend rather than husband to make it less of a thing and then maybe give it an episode or two and have them talk over the internet before she comes back and they get back together! Because why can’t anyone have a girlfriend? Like why do all of the guys need to be such lone wolves? 

I mean, I get it, because they are a family/brothers, but having even just one more minor female recurring would be interesting and would add dimension to the gang and characters!

Now this is like one of those random side plots that don’t really do much because in the end nothing has changed. Other than us learning a little more about TC, which is nice, but it doesn't seem like it will actually impact future episodes and didn’t really connect a whole lot with the episode. TC is just off getting closure to a relationship we never knew he needed closure for. Which means we’re not super invested.

I feel like this is a bit of a problem with the show in general. We get really nice and moving and character developing stuff for characters we haven’t been shown to need, as with Kumu last week and now TC. Rick and his dying “dad” Ice-Pick and even Shammie with his lying army buddy. Even Gordon and his son. Jin and his sisters and that’s why he steals.

These things could all have had 100 times more impact if they’d established these problems/ relationships earlier. Like if we had learned Kumu's husband had cheated on her and had a child with another woman (or maybe that Kumu is a bit sad she never had kids on her own) sometime before - over the past 30 episodes, wouldn’t last week’s episode, where she finally reaches out to the husband’s kid, would have been so much more emotionally satisfying? 

Same if Theresa had been mentioned as TC’s great love and maybe him being sad some episodes ago (or even back in 1x19 when his dad doesn't come to visit - that could have been about him seeing a post about her getting married and him being upset about it and connecting with Rick about that.) 

Like I get that maybe sometimes they just throw random things in there but at the same time why do they need to do that? Want to do that? Isn’t there someone keeping track of the big picture? Giving characters long running story arcs over a season or even multiple ones should be someone’s job.

Nr. 5 Not having Gordon comment something on the fact that he’s been called to a murder scene on a Island Love tour bus site by his favorite PI duo. Like yeah they’d have told him why they were there but he still should have teased them about it! Like “What were you two doing here anyways? Something going on?” and both of them giving a horrified “NO!”.

Nr. 6 when the guy says “is he crazy?” after Magnum jumped into the waterfall pool thing, not having Higgy be all “Yes, he is”, then jumping in after him, was a huge miss. That would have been so funny and shown how much alike they are (even if Higgy will always be the sane one...)

Nr. 7. Not having Magnum and Higgins try to pretend to be together when the bus driver catches them. I mean come on! At least some more hand holding! Snuggling? I’m not saying to just kiss already okay maybe I am saying that.

Nr. 8. Not one real Miggy moment in this episode? I mean lots of bickering and maybe for a moment with her being all “well done” when he tells the cheating a-hole he’s an idiot for having an affair. And if the camera had stayed on him for a few seconds more when they’re toasting at the end we know we’d have gotten a Mangum looks had Higgy soft heart eyes moment. But we didn’t. But other than that, not really much feel-y moments even if we got plenty of cute stuff.

Nr. 9.  Sandy and how they find out Sandy is the killer! Like what? She cut the bus’s fuel line  which makes no sense, she’d wouldn’t want to trap herself right?  Sandy if you’d just not cut the fuel line and stayed with the group, you’d have been taken back to civilization and no one would have figured you out! Or you should have left right away on car/4-wheeler you must have prepared for escape, not stayed around! You could have left down long before the cops got there or the autopsy revealed anything. Same for why does she give her knife to her date? Why not just throw the knife away? She’s in the jungle, big chance it will be found. Not.

And why kill someone in the middle of nowhere, making yourself one of the, like, 8 suspects? Like come on girl, for a hit woman you’re not that clever. Also if you had a gun, why strangle a guy 2x your size? That’s not a smart plan either. Just get a silencer and shoot the guy when he’s on his morning jog back in the city or something! I feel like the only reason they had her be the baddie was so Magnum/ Higgins could say “Shot through the heart” // “How is that for poetic” all dramatically after Gordon took her down.

Problem nr. 10. Tied in with this I just think Sandy as the killer should have not happened. 

In fact, I think having the sweet loving wife as the killer would have been wonderful. 

It would have been a much better twist! Dead guy could have been poisoned (traditional how wive’s kill their husbands… just saying) and then he fell off the cliff. They could surely have found some weird clue to that, like maybe his throat is all swollen and stuff to make them think foul play and then when they’re moving the body towards the end, Magnum realizes it’s poison.

But Higgy stayed back with the ‘grieving’ asthmatic widow and oh no! Must rush back to save my one true love platonic partner. 

We could have had some sort emotional moment where the Wife got Higgy with a knife at her throat and is all “He was supposed to be my best friend, my partner, my everything and he did X” and Magnum being all “Well that woman you’re holding a knife to is my (best) friend, my partner and she didn’t do anything so please put the knife down!” Or something. 

I mean I know that sounds like I’m off in Miggy fanfiction land but honestly I think they could have made it work (this is hilarious when re-reading after watching next weeks trailer). She could have teased him about the best friend bit but then she could have been all soft, “Thomas. Thank you. I’m glad you're my friend.” And the episode could have ended with how love just never seems to end well for anyone which would have been way more on theme for the vibes in this episode (and frankly whole show because no one gets to have a romantic relationship for more than, like, 3 episodes).

Nr. 11. Higgins hair. Not putting it in the fluffy “Blood In the Water” style was a big miss because that hair made her look so freaking adorable. Just saying. I mean both my babies are always adorable I just love the poofy fluff hair from that ep!

Anyways, those were my 11 missed opportunities for episode sixteen!

My fave bits were Magnum and Higgins fake couple thing at the start. Magnum being all like “While we’re up here we might as well take a selfie!” and then when talking to the old couple his, *I’m just gonna keep my hand here, on your waist! I’m real smooth* move. 

I enjoyed the fast action pack-ed-ness of the whole ep and the pretty Hawaii scenery we got. The more I watch Magnum PI the more I want to visit Hawaii (one day when there is no Corona, I’m much richer and 20h airplane rides are suddenly comfortable, I will!) and just enjoying all the amazing natural beauty and stuff.

The Rick and TC’s interactions were also highlights, I loved the whole “just pretend to walk by”. Like so middle-school yet so relatable because who hasn’t done that when we’re like, is that Lisa from second grade? And just we walked down the cat food aisle perusing cat food (when we most def. don’t have a cat), just to check if it is indeed Lisa.

Also this made me crack up so hard.

Magnum: Muffin? 

Higgy: Could you please not refer to me as a breakfast pastry.

That’s just so on point for Higgy I can’t even!

KXNG Crooked - Earth Day N Tha Hood -

Selv om avvisningen ikke kom som noen bombe, så var det likevel noe i dagens avgjørelse som ga meg frysninger. I dokumentet med tittelen «kongelig resolusjon» konkluderes det med disse to setningene: «Tiltaket vil kunne ha negative konsekvenser for reindrift og samisk kulturutøvelse og for natur og miljø. Departementet finner likevel at de positive samfunnsøkonomiske virkningene av tiltaket sammenholdt med de vilkår som er satt for driften tilsier at konsesjon gis.».

I dag vil jeg takke vår elendige regjering for kampen, men også takke for det siste sparket de ga oss i baken. Kampen er på ingen måte over, selv om regjeringen nok en gang ga oss et slag i trynet i dag. Overraskende nok er jeg mer optimistisk enn noen gang for at vi kommer til å vinne. I dag har vår regjering innrømmet at de gir totalt faen i samisk kultur og natur og miljø. Jeg er sikker på at det fikk Elsa Laula Renberg til å snu seg i grava, men om ikke det vekker kampånden i oss alle, så vet ikke jeg. Vi er klare til å mobilisere til det jeg tror blir vår tids Alta-aksjon.

Dagen i dag vil for alltid være en samisk flaggdag, men fra nå av og til vi har vunnet kampen om Repparfjord, vil jeg heise flagget på halv stang.
