watched now you see me and it’s sequel back to back. thought the first one was amazing but the second one didn’t hit for me the way i wished it did

Just tried to watch Top Gun for the first time. Made it through the volleyball game.

This is definitely a movie that benefits from nostalgia glasses. It’s just not entertaining enough to overlook that’s it’s a product of its time.

It’s just meh? Like if it was better than meh I’d be willing to be distracted from the problematic nonsense?

Like Bloodsport is also a product of its time and is just so much more entertaining. Granted they also don’t try as hard to shove the romance sub plot down your throat.
