#o #there are a couple of scenes that are like. directly lifted from cloudy #and usually cloudy's are a bit tighter/more interesting/funny #just in terms of the overlapping elements like mitchells is still great #but when it comes to 'weird student presents something theyre interested in and their peers dont get it/bully them for it' #and 'climactic high stakes scene where dad struggles with basic technology' #cloudy pulled it off better #i wanna watch mitchells again and compare/contrast how it handles the 'dad doesnt get me' plot because i think both films have interesting #stuff going on there #anyway the secret good sony pictures animated films ie cloudy spiderverse and mitchells #all share a lot of dna and i hope people who loved mitchells will also look into cloudy! yous will love cloudy!!! #i will say cloudy loses a far bit of steam for me in the second half of the runtime #still has some excellent moments but i think they struggled a little keeping the tone/humour running throughout as the stakes amp up and #gets more dramatic #and i found mitchells (while prob being a bit too long) did a REALLY good job of maintaining its energy and tone all the way throughout #however cloudy has a REALLY GREAT opening 10 mins of the film meanwhile mitchells' is so so so so bad #ugh im so excited just to have thots anout an animated film again :) #omedia
