The Safehouse, pt. 17
CW: for institutionalized slavery, mentions of abuse, treatment of people as things, medical procedures (x-rays, IV placement), hospital setting, brainwashing
Advice from the Box Boy Liberation Movement:
The type of conditioning rescuees undergo is impossible to shake off lightly. Do not worry, and above all do not take it personally, when they are unable to believe your reassurances. While you should attempt to defer to rescuees' choices, if they are able to make them known, there will be times that it is in their best interest to continue a course of action against their preference. [2] Use your best judgement in deciding whether to proceed in such an event.
[2] One common form of this is the decision to pursue necessary medical treatment for a frightened or reluctant rescuee.
Mikey's breath hitched as Angie eased the car over a speed bump and she couldn't help sneaking a look at him to make sure he was alright. She was trying to be careful, but it was hard on some of these older roads. Angie reminded herself that the ordeal was almost over and next time Mikey got in a car, his injuries would be repaired and braced and he wouldn't be so vulnerable to the condition of the roads. She reminded herself how it had been with Nathan, how badly he had suffered during the ride to the hospital but how much easier the drive home had been, once his leg was set and wrapped and the painkillers had kicked in.
It was hard to tell if Mikey noticed when the ride was rough, although he had obviously reacted; he was staring, wide-eyed, out the window as the neighborhood passed them by. Angie smiled at him and reached over to pat his knee. He looked at her with that owlish gaze, as if he was seeing everything for the first time. Maybe, in a sense, he was.
"We'll be there in about ten minutes," she said, just to fill the silence. "We'll park and then I'll text our contact and she'll come get us. Should be easy." Mikey nodded and went back to staring out the window. Angie debated turning on some music, but she looked over again, taking in the rigid set of his back, his clenched teeth, the nervous movement of his eyes, and decided against it.
When they finally arrived, Angie parked and texted the number she had been given. Here, spot 27 in front of door 2. She hit send and reached over to help Mikey remove his seatbelt.
"Okay," she said, "there you go. Watch your arm- you always do, but still- and the other one- and there you go!" She was trying to sound cheerful, in hopes that he would relax, but it didn't seem to be helping much.
"It really is going to be okay," she went on, in what she hoped was a reassuring voice. "And I promise I'll be there the whole time. I won't let anything bad happen to you. Okay?" He looked in her direction, almost meeting her eyes, and nodded. It was hard to tell whether he believed her or believed that this was the reaction she wanted. Angie tried not to sigh.
They hadn't been waiting more than a few minutes when Angie's phone buzzed with a text and then a woman in scrubs pushing a wheelchair appeared behind the car.
"Here we go," Angie said, still with that determinedly cheerful tone. She hopped out and waved to the woman. "Ready for us?"
"I sure am. I'm Wanda, I work with Dr. Silva- and we have a number of other colleagues in common, obviously." She winked at Angie, who couldn't help but smile.
"This is Mikey," Angie added, bending down to help Mikey out. It wasn't easy, but by holding him around the waist and supporting his right elbow, they managed.
"Nice to meet you, Mikey," Wanda said. She patted the back of the wheelchair. "Have a seat and we'll get you right in there. The story we're telling is that you were in a car accident- I don't think that'll be too hard to believe and it'll give us an excuse to get you right through the doors and into somewhere with a little more privacy. Okay?"
Mikey nodded. He shuffled around and lowered himself into the chair, placing his right hand carefully in his lap. Angie wondered if she should bring the pillow and then decided to leave it.
"Here we go," Wanda said, and pushed Mikey across the parking lot.
The closer they got to the door, the more obvious it was that Mikey was struggling. Angie could see it first in the way he hunched his right shoulder, as if he was trying to curl up and make himself smaller. He began to tremble and when she saw his face, his lips were pressed tightly together and his eyes were closed. Angie reached over and ruffled his hair, just to remind him that she hadn't left, but he didn't respond.
"Poor kid," Wanda said sympathetically. "Been with you long?" With another glance down at her patient, she added, "For his sake, I hope not." Then she seemed to hear herself. "Not because of you, of course- just that if he's been with you and waiting for an appointment- Oh, sugar, you know what I meant!"
"I know exactly what you meant," Angie replied, laughing. "And he's been with us for a couple of weeks already. It was tough to get him scheduled."
"It can be. I'm glad they found time, though."
"Me too. And he will be, too- or at least he will once it's over, anyway."
Angie had been in emergency rooms a handful of times in her life, but never had she gone back to a private room so quickly. There wasn't a wait at all; Wanda paused only long enough to tell the nurse at the desk that she would take the patient's vitals herself and they kept walking. At a big pair of double doors, Wanda pushed a button and steered Mikey quickly around a corner, down another long hall, and through a second set of doors. Angie hoped she wouldn't have to find her way back alone.
At last they came to a room with the door shut and Wanda nodded to it. "Will you get that for us?" Angie did, and pulled it shut once they were inside.
"Here's home, sweet home for today," Wanda told Mikey. He finally opened his eyes and looked around at the white walls, the curtain, the bright light above, and Angie watched his face go pale- or perhaps, more pale.
"It's okay," she said. "I'm going to be right here, remember?" Mikey looked up at her with big eyes and nodded as if he didn't quite believe her.
"Let's get you into a gown and we'll head out for x-rays," Wanda went on. "The sooner we get this done, the sooner you go home and start to feel better, hmm? Angie, will you help him get undressed while I find him a hospital gown?"
She bustled out and Angie helped Mikey out of his clothes, just as she did at home when it was time to sleep, and then folded his things and set them neatly aside where he could see them and be reminded that they were not being taken away.
"Here," Angie said, "Let's close the curtain so you can have some privacy." She started to pull it shut and then realized that Mikey's eyes had gone very wide and he was shaking his head vehemently.
"No?" Angie asked. "You want the curtain open?" He nodded hesitantly. "Okay, we'll leave it. It's up to you." He nodded again, shaky but clearly grateful.
Mikey sat on the edge of the bed in his undershorts, shivering from nerves and cold. He had understood when Mistress explained to him about the surgery, and he knew he ought to believe her but... something in his brain, more deeply rooted than her promises, could not shake the certain knowledge that he was back at a WRU facility.
It looked too much like one, for one thing, although the crowd of people in the first room had been comforting, for a moment. But maybe this was the wing where they housed the bad pets, the ones who needed so much work done that they couldn't be kept. The walls were the same shade of blank white, easy to clean because stains showed up so well. The light was bright and made to be shined in his eyes while they did whatever it was they intended to do. And the curtain would keep anyone passing by from seeing what happened to him. That was why he hadn't wanted Mistress to close it.
But when the nurse came back and she and Mistress helped him into a thin gown that barely covered all of him, Mikey tried to take heart. The presence of the two women was comforting and up until now, Mistress hadn't hurt him even once. Mostly, she helped him. She made sure he got enough to eat and talked to him and let him follow her around the house when he felt restless. He hoped she really would stay, like she had promised.
Once the gown was on, it was back into the wheelchair for x-rays, a concept with which Mikey was not familiar. Maybe he had been, once. He wondered vaguely, as he sometimes did when he let his mind go off wherever it wanted, if he had ever been in a real, for-people hospital before. Mistress tucked a blanket around his bare legs and off they went, all three of them. He wished he could have brought his clothes. He hoped they would still be in the room if he got to go back there.
The x-ray room was terrifying. There was a big table in the middle with some kind of machine over it and a booth in the corner. Mikey did not want to get on the table, did not want the machine to do whatever it was going to do, did not want to know what was in the booth.
"I promise it'll be quick," Mistress said. "Just climb up on the table and we'll help you lay down and we can get it over with. We're just taking pictures, it won't hurt."
He did not believe her, but an order was an order and Mikey climbed, shaking, out of his safe wheelchair with the warm blanket and got up on the table. Mistress helped him lie down and then the difficult part began.
It turned out that they wanted pictures of his arms and shoulders and to get them, they had to pose him just so. They began with his right arm, laying his hand flat on the bed and then turning it over for another angle. It hurt, but no worse than his hands usually hurt.
But then, the nurse took his left arm and moved it, something nobody had done to him since he was last in a facility for unwanted Pets. Mikey knew better than to twist away from her, but his stomach turned over at the movement and he could feel the blood drain from his face. Mistress had promised this wouldn't hurt, he thought.
"I know, honey," said the nurse, although he was sure she did not. "We'll hurry. Poor kid." She went back into the booth in the corner.
"I'm right here," Mistress added. She was holding his right elbow, very gently. "Almost done."
There was a pause during which none of them moved, and Mikey felt, as much as saw, darkness closing in around the edges of his vision. He was afraid he was going to throw up.
And then it was all over and they were sitting him up and he could curl up around his left arm and rock himself, the way he did when he needed to calm down. When they tried to set him on his feet, it turned out that his legs would not hold him. Mikey felt himself begin to panic at the idea of falling again, but Mistress grabbed the wheelchair and shoved it behind him, and when he fell, it was a controlled fall onto the seat with the nurse's arm around his back to help him down. They had to pick his feet up for him and put them on the foot rests, but at last they were leaving that horrible place.
"That was the worst part," the nurse was saying when Mikey's hearing came back properly. "I'm so sorry, honey. Nothing worse than an IV left, though."
Mikey was pleased to find that they went back to the room where his clothes were, where Mistress was kind enough not to shut the curtain. They put him back on the bed and this time the nurse went to his right arm.
"We're going to get an IV started," she told him, but she was looking at Mistress, too, as she spoke. Maybe she needed permission for each step. "Get you some fluids and painkillers, too."
He didn't know what that meant until she came over with a bag of something and a needle. Mikey stared at it and felt like he couldn't breathe. Every time he thought he knew what was going on here, they came and did- something like that to him. He knew where that needle went and he knew what happened when they put it in a Pet's arm.
But he couldn't get away. The nurse inserted the needle and clicked open a little piece of plastic and Mikey began to cry. He shook his head, wishing desperately that he could talk, plead, beg them not to take his mind away again. He would promise to be good, do whatever they wanted, even with his arms bad. If only they would just...
As he had known it would, the world went soft around the edges. Somehow, impossibly, he could feel the pain in his arms melting away. The world was quieter now and slower. He closed his eyes and sniffled and waited for his life at the Safehouse to disappear. It would have been nice to say goodbye to Nathan and Francis, even if he would forget them soon.
Mikey couldn't feel time passing, but when he opened his eyes, there was less liquid in the bag hanging next to him, so he knew it had. The soft feeling was still there and the pain in his arms was... not gone, but so much less that he sighed with pleasure. Mistress was stroking his hair and he wondered if it was all over and he would be allowed to go home, to see Nathan and Francis and sleep in his own bed.
Then his eyes flew open. He remembered them. Whatever was in the bag, even though it made him feel sleepy and light, he still had his memories. He looked down at himself and found that his hands and arms looked no different. He went to lift his left arm, which hurt but somehow not as much as it usually did, and Mistress gently pressed his arm back down to the bed.
"Not quite yet," she said and smiled at him. "They'll come get you soon, though."
Mikey slept again and woke when the door opened and a tall woman with dark skin and dark hair in a bun and wearing a long, white coat came in. She was holding a clipboard and she shook Mistress's hand and she smiled at Mikey. He heard her say, "His shoulder is badly dislocated. The dislocation wasn't reduced properly, if at all, so we'll take care of that while he's under. His left arm is broken in several places and his right hand is completely smashed- that's the technical term." She and Mistress laughed, but they didn't sound like it was really funny.
"Hi Mikey," she said to him, and he tried to look attentive. "I'm Dr. Silva. I'm going to perform your surgery. Okay?"
He tried to nod, but nothing happened. "Sorry," Mistress said, grinning. "He's a little loopy."
"Perfectly okay. We'll just get you asleep, Mikey, and then head to the OR. It'd usually be the other way around, but I think this will be less upsetting for you." She looked over at Mistress, who nodded.
Then they did something with the needle in his arm and the doctor said, "Can you count to ten?" He couldn't, but it made no difference, because he was asleep before he knew what was happening.
At home, Francis and Nathan were in their usual positions on the sofa while Tim bustled about the kitchen getting lunch ready.
"You doing okay?" Nathan asked. Francis clearly was not. His face was still sweaty and he kept sighing and shifting uncomfortably.
"Francis is in working order," was all he said, however.
"I don't think he is." Nathan's voice was teasing, but sympathetic. "You feel pretty bad?"
"Francis is anxious. Perhaps it is the fever."
"Perhaps it's worrying about Mikey."
Finally Francis pushed himself up on shaky arms and turned to look at Nathan. "Francis is worried that Mikey will not be himself when he comes back," he said quietly.
"Like- what do you mean?"
"Francis is worried they will erase him again."
Nathan nodded understanding. "I know, man. But they went to the same place they took me and I promise you, it's just a normal hospital. For people. They don't erase anyone there, not even pets. I'm sure of it."
"Are you really sure?"
"Really sure."
"Then Francis will try to believe it."
Next time: Mikey wakes up after surgery.

Word Count: 758
Main Masterlist
The sound of a door being kicked open can be heard from the front of the home as Y/N stands across from the vampire she has been pursuing.
"I told you to come alone," Vampire snarls at hunter.
"I did come alone!" She glares at him and grips her machete even tighter as she braces herself for a fight. "How can I be certain that it isn't one of your thugs?"
"Because they don't know I'm here," he sneers back at her before turning his back to her to leave.
As soon as he approached the doorway, a machete that wasn't hers cleanly sliced through his neck, decapitating him.
Her eyes widen in disbelief at what has just occurred. She was confident that no other hunter was pursuing this vampire and that no one was following her. She made sure of it. Every time a hunter neared, she diverted their focus to a different case she knew would keep them busy enough for her to move onward.
"No, no, no." she shakes her head, her disbelief giving way to a feeling of helplessness and dread as she paces the room trying not to cry out in anger and despair.
"Are you okay?" A quiet voice calls from the doorway.
Her focus is drawn to two men standing in the doorway, the headless vampire at their feet. They were both well over six feet tall. One has short mousey blonde hair, the other has long, dark hair. She gives them both a death glare and tightens her grip on the machete as she is overcome with rage. She would give everything she had to kick their asses all the way to the next town.
"What have you done?" She yells at them.
"We saved you from being that vamp's next meal," the shorter of the two, the blonde one, said, his voice deep and rough. "You're welcome."
"You did not save me! You idiots just got my sister killed!" her voice shouts louder and angrier. She begins to pace the room once again as she tries to come up with a new plan. "What am I going to do now?"
"Did they take your sister?" The taller of the two men asks, his face suddenly taking on a guilty expression. The other maintained a stony attitude, but there was a hint of guilt in his eyes.
She pauses pacing and turns to face them. "You just killed the only way I had left to getting her back. He was helping me."
"You were counting on a vamp to bring your sister back?" The shorter one spoke while looking at her as though she was the idiot in this scenario.
She continues glaring at the blonde, "I know that seems ridiculous but he loved my sister.
"Before he was turned against his will, they were married. He left a note telling that her that he had to leave. She refused to accept it and went to look for him."
"She found him," the taller one adds, realizing where she was headed with her narrative. She nods her head confirming his theory . "We can help find her. It's the least we can do for you."
"How can I trust you?" She inquires, looking between the two men.
The shorter one remarks, "You trusted the vamp.
"He was family," she says, glaring at him.
"My name is Sam, this is my brother Dean," Sam introduces them. "It's not safe taking on a vamps nest alone so please, let us help."
"Why do you talk like I haven't taken on vampires before?" She asks a little offended by his words. "How do you think I found my brother-in-law?"
"Well then, good luck finding your sister," Dean spoke as he turns on his heel to leave.
"Dean!" Sam frowns in frustration at his older brother.
"Wait, your last name wouldn't happen to be Winchester, would it?" She asks them.
"Yeah, it is," Sam answers as Dean turns back around to face her.
"If you're going to help me, don't fuck it up anymore than you already have. And you're telling my sister you killed her husband." She tells them leaving no room for argument or negotiation.
"Of course," Sam agrees for the both of them.
"Also this is your mess," she says looking between the brothers. Both of them looked at her confused. "You have to clean this us. You did cause it after all." She pushes past them and walks out of the abandoned house missing the glare Dean throws his brother.

Explicit Pt. 4
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Jack become official
Content Warning: 17+ Sexual Themes and Topics. Eventual Smut
A/N: Enjoyed writing this part, and can’t wait for your guys to read it. Pretty sure part 5 will be the last so brace yourselves.
“Being a cam girl.” You stood in shock, eyes wide.
“What..? I don’t know-“ Jack snickered.
“You don’t have to lie to me, pretty girl.” You shook your head trying to think straight.
“How’d you find out??”
“It’s a funny story actually, my best friend showed me one of your streams. Then I happened to run into you days later.” Jack studied your body language. You seemed to have a shameful expression on your face. He stepped away from his car and walked towards you.
“It’s not something to be ashamed of.”
“I’m not ashamed, just a little embarrassed. That probably just ruined the chances of this going anywhere.” Jack’s eyebrows lifted in confusion.
“Who said that?” You looked up at him.
“It doesn’t bother you?” Out of all outcomes you imagined this was not one of them.
“Who am I to judge someone’s job? Besides, I’ve been a consumer of your content so it would be hypocritical.” You sighed and Jack reached out to hold your hand.
“Y/N I like you, and this doesn’t change anything. If anything it makes things easier when we get to that point in our relationship.” Your eyes widened and your cheeks flushed.
“Wait, that means you’ve seen-“ Immediately your hands covered your face, making Jack laugh.
“Once again, nothing to be ashamed of.” You looked up to meet his smirk. Your hands reached out to push him.
“Oh my god, I hate you.”
Jack held his chest.
“Damn it’s like that?” You sighed.
“No for real though, if you don’t feel comfortable with me watching I won’t.” Thoughts raced through your head for a couple of seconds.
“Nah I gotta get you to spend money on me somehow.” Jack shook his head as he snickered.
“Baby I’ll gladly spend money on you.” He got closer to your ear making you shift. “But who knows, maybe I’ll get to see it for free one day.”
You walked back into your apartment and then leaned against the closed door.
“That was an awfully long convo for just picking up your chapstick.” You looked up at your friend standing next to the window. You sighed and walked to your kitchen island as she followed.
“So what were ya’ll talking about?“
“Well, he knows about me.” You looked up to meet her shocked gaze.
“Like about your-“ She made a sarcastic pornographic face, making you push her arm.
“Yes about that, Jesus.”
“I take it he reacted well since you’re not crying.”
“Long story short, his friend showed him my profile, he watched me and then we met. But he said he still wants to pursue something with me.” Her eyes squinted and a smile appeared on her face.
“Look at you, all giddy and shit.” You tried to hide your smile.
“I’m not giddy.”
“Mhm.”
For the next couple of months, you and Jack were inseparable but made sure to take things at a natural pace. You were always at his house, and he eventually introduced you to Urban. Making sure to keep your profession on the down-low.
The nice part about Jack is he never pressured you for sex, in fact, he didn’t ask for it at all. (Probably because he was still watching your content) But it wasn’t too long before he asked you to be his girlfriend after multiple short-lived kisses. It was quite romantic and just happened to be a date in the coffee shop where you two first met.
“I knew you brought me here for a reason.” You looked up from your drink and smiled at him.
“It’s special.”
“What makes it so special hm?”
“It’s where I met my girl.” His eyebrows lifted as his eyes connected with yours.
“Your girl?” Obliviously you had to tease him a little. “Not sure I’m following.”
“You’re gonna make me spell it out, pretty girl?” You nodded with a sly smile.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes, obviously. I mean I already claimed you, so it’s about time.”
“Claimed me?” His face was filled with intrigue as he took a sip of his drink.
“Yeah I mean, I’m the one making you cum every night so it seems fitting.” You whispered loud enough for him to hear as he almost choked on his coffee.
That night you finally took Jack back to your apartment and showed him The already familiarly set. The dark red LEDs added to the sexual tension in the room.
He stood in awe watching your delicate frame lay on your bed, draped in your underwear. Your eyes moved from the expression on his face to the obvious tent in his pants.
“God, you look better in person baby.” His hands were itching to touch you.
“All you hoped for?”
“Shit, and more.” You bit your lip and suddenly an idea popped in your head.
“Are you really gonna let me sit here by myself?” You looked down, feeling shy.
His head shook and he immediately began removing his clothes, making you giggle.
His body moved to sit on the bed and you noticed he left his boxers on, you figured because you were still in your underwear.
You moved closer and placed your hand on his exposed thigh. He pushed himself forward, allowing his lips to press against yours. Within seconds the kiss got sloppier and more intense, you moved to straddle him. He let out a low groan against your lips after feeling your weight against his hard-on. Your hips moved against him at a regular pace.
“Wait.”
You looked down at him confused as his arm stretched towards your camera. You smirked, instantly getting more turned on by the idea. Jack laid back against your bed and held the camera on top of his lower abdomen after pressing the record button. The angle allowed a perfect shot of your clothed sex above his hard-on.
You pressed yourself down against him and moved back and forth as the camera captured the action. His free hand moved to hold your thigh and his lip tucked under his teeth. This already was enough to push him over the edge. The wetness of his precum mixed with your slick on top of the fabric. You continued to move against him as your wetness seeped through your underwear and onto his boxers. The wet stain becoming more and more visible on your cloth panties.
You bit your lip, preventing yourself from moaning out Jack’s name. Groans of pleasure could be heard from his side of the camera. The feeling of his shaft against your clit, cause your whimper.
“Mm Fuck I’m gonna cum.”
You pressed yourself harder against him, the head of his dick continuing to rub against your bundle of nerves. Within a few more movements both of you found yourselves climaxing. Jack stopped the recording and heavy breaths filled the room.
“This might be your best vid yet.” He set the camera on your nightstand and you leaned down to kiss him.
That was just the first of many recordings you did together. It became an almost daily thing and Jack practically lived at your apartment. The vids got more and more graphic as time went on. Started with dry humping then turned into full-blown faceless sex tapes. Surprisingly your audience was fine with the added person, some were even ecstatic. And with the addition of Jack came the surplus of fans, your profile and income was at a all time high. You had managed to keep your identity a secret, that was until one night.
You stirred in your sleep while Jack softly caressed your hair and the soft glow of the LEDs lit up your skin. The two of you had just finished making some content and you immediately fell asleep afterwards.
Jack admired you, this was more than he could have ever asked for. The girl of his dreams, beautiful, sexy, and an amazing personality. Being a cam girl was just the icing on top. He wanted to show you off, show the world what a fine catch he managed to bag. So he did. He reached over to your nightstand and grabbed his phone. His arm lifted above the two of you and he snapped a pic of you sleeping. The sheet barely covering your body, and your face clear as day.
“I’ll only leave it up for a minute.” He thought to himself.
His fingers moved to type the caption: “I fuck the girl y’all jerk off to.”
Sleep started to take over Jack and he cuddled up to you.
As the two of you slept, notifications rang from both of your phones. The constant noise caused you to wake up angrily. Jack sat up due to your movement. His tired eyes looked at you briefly before getting up and going towards your bathroom. You rubbed your eyes and read over all your notifications. Messages mixed with social media and phone calls from your best friend. Immediately your expression dropped and your eyes widened.
Tears began to breach through your vision. Jack walked back into the bedroom and stood still, taking in your distressed expression. You turned to look at him the tears now streaming down your face.
“What did you do?”

Small
A tiny little ficlet
Or read on AO3
“I’m sorry,” Jack said, holding onto his stick and not quite meeting Bitty’s eyes. “Shitty said it was small of me to say that.”
Bitty straightened up at that, almost feeling his hackles rise.
“Small?” he said. “Shitty said? What the fuck, Jack?”
Jack’s eyes widened at the curse word.
“I mean, he was right,” Jack amended. “I shouldn’t have said it, and I am sorry.”
“Fine,” Bitty said, deciding that getting into an argument with his captain – his captain who was being generous in helping Bitty with his checking problem, even if Bitty hated every minute of it – was not worth it.
But as he skated to take up his position near the boards, the better for Jack to ram him into them, he couldn’t help thinking about how much he hated that word. Small.
He started skating, since Jack said it was important to skate through the contact, and tightened his core as he braced himself. Jack plowed across the ice towards him. Somehow, he knew no one had ever called Jack small. At least, not until Shitty.
“You did good today,” Jack said, leaning against his locker stall while Bitty pulled a clean T-shirt over his head. Jack, who didn’t gear up for checking practice, didn’t come out of them needing a shower to avoid smelling like funky hockey pads all day.
No, Jack could make do with a helmet, skates, gloves and a stick. Bitty hoped Jack had at least washed his hands while Bitty was cleaning up.
“What was different?” Jack pursued, when Bitty didn’t respond. “Did it help to be pissed off at me?”
Bitty looked Jack full in the face, mouth almost open in disbelief.
“Well, did it help?” Jack persisted.
Bitty swallowed a snort and shook his head. “If I say yes, you gonna tell me every goal I score is a lucky shot?”
“How many goals are you going to score?” Jack said. “If you score enough to make it an issue …”
Jack’s voice trailed off.
“Wait,” Jack said. “I meant to apologize today —“
“Because Shitty told you to,” Bitty interjected.
“Yes, but he was right,” Jack said. “But I said something wrong. You got mad again. I mean, it seemed to help with the checking, but … I don’t know what I said wrong. Is it just that I talked to Shitty about it?”
“You talked to Shitty, or Shitty talked to you?” Bitty said, as his head emerged from his crewneck sweater.
“Does it matter?” Jack asked. “Is it just … that we were talking about you that you don’t like? Because it really was more about me.”
Bitty muttered, “Of course it was,” under his breath.
But Jack was standing in front of him, looking confused and earnest and almost pleading.
Lord, why did Bitty have to be the grownup in this conversation and explain it to his captain, who was a whole five years older than him?
“I’m going to go buy myself a fancy coffee,” Bitty finally said. “I think I deserve it. And I will not entertain anyone complaining about the sugar content. But if you want to come, be my guest.”
Jack held the door and Bitty tucked his hands in his jacket pockets as they stepped out into the crisp morning.
“What’s different about me, Jack?” Bitty asked. “I mean, compared to the rest of the team?”
“You’re from the south?” Jack said, glancing at the scarf Bitty had wound around his neck.
“Try again.”
“You didn’t grow up playing hockey?”
“One more try, Jack. I’ll give you a hint. It’s a physical characteristic.”
“You’re small?”
“Got it in three,” Bitty said. “And what did Shitty say about your comment to me?”
“That it was …small?” Jack said, like he saw the connection, but still didn’t really get it.
“So why is the word that is usually applied to me also the word that describes what you did when you wanted to hurt me?”
“I didn’t –”
“You did,” Bitty said. “I guess maybe because you thought you should have scored, and because your dad was there and he complimented me and … I know how it feels to disappoint your dad, Jack. But I don’t think he was disappointed in you. You played a good game.”
Bitty scuffed his way down the walk a little ways further.
“I dunno,” he said. “It’s silly. But everyone around here can’t stop telling me how small I am – they based my nickname on it. And I try to tell myself that it’s not bad to be small, it’s just different. And then when you apologize, it’s for being small.”
“I didn’t mean physically small,” Jack said, “I meant, like, petty. Which I guess is like petit, now that I think about it.”
“Which even I know means small,” Bitty said, trying to smile. Petits-fours were good for something. “You could have said you were mean, or cutting, or rude, or ungenerous, or … you get the idea.”
“I just said what Shitty said,” Jack said.
“That doesn’t make it better,” Bitty said, pulling open the door to Annie’s. “How did he even know what you said?”
“I told him,” Jack said, following Bitty inside.. “I … felt bad for what I said. Even though …”
“Even though it was true?” Bitty said. “It was a lucky shot. I know that. Your dad knows that. Maybe even my mama knows that. But you tried to make me feel bad about it instead of celebrating our luck.”
Bitty paused to order a pumpkin spice latte with extra whip. Before he could pay, Jack had stepped up next to him, wallet out, and said “Black coffee. We’re together.”
“You don’t have to –”
Jack shrugged. “I want to. Let me?”
“This your way of making it up to me?” Bitty said. “I guess it’ll do. I know I overreacted, but I’m tired of always being seen as just the small one.”
“Not just the small one,” Jack said. “You’re a lot more than that. The lucky one, too.”
“That you trying to get me mad again?” Bitty said. “Save it for the ice.”

You're gonna delete them? D: I wanted to hear more about when Legend fell into a Canyon!
(And also learn from me you might regret deleting them, may I suggest simply dropping them in an "abandoned" folder and either keep it on a cloud or zip the file etc? Sometimes I find old fics and see "hey I like this particular thing I can reuse it" or simply to see "damn I've improved a lot")
I am seriously considering it, yes. I’ve been caught deep in the throes of writer’s block, or something of the sort, and as a result each of these stories are not only unlikely to get finished, they’re also rooted in the bitterness and desperation of getting stuck time and time again. You will notice there are two documents about the canyon. That is because I tried once, I got stuck, and I tried again, and am stuck. Truly I believe these stories may never come to life unless I get out of this rut, and then when I do I may discover I never liked those ideas to begin with. Ah, I’m rambling—long story short, seeing all these stories that are a bit like symbols of my failure makes me a bit heartsick. That, and I am not a fan of clutter. You can still ask about them, that’s why I put them out there!!
For you, I’ll keep all these documents, even if they never become real stories. Now, onto the document of your curiosity: Legend falls into a Canyon.
This story was going to be set in Wild’s Hyrule, in the Hebra area. You know that huge canyon with the forgotten temple? Around there. A portal drops our chain into Wild’s Hyrule: Time, Warriors, Twilight, Sky, Wild, Hyrule, Four, and Wind are all deposited near the Tabantha Snowfield Stable (can’t remember if that’s its name but oh well). Legend, on the other hand, is dropped into this canyon—and none too gently. With some injuries to speak of, and pursued by monsters, Legend limps through the canyon for a way out—but alas, arrives cornered at a dead end, with his only choice being to turn and face the monsters chasing him.
Now, I abandoned “The One Where Legend Falls Into A Canyon” due to some inconsistencies that made me sick and picked it up in “Another Canyon Thing”:
As it turns out, Legend is not being pursued by just any monsters; rather by a group of five lizalfos, headed by Lizal-Dink himself. Legend fights them off successfully, but does sustain several injuries. His prospects are grim, and, unable to walk and out of potions, he sits down to rest and await his fate.
The rest of the chain has been searching for Legend, and as they arrive at one side of the canyon, they spot Dink crawling up the wall and over the other side, running away. They’re unable to pursue him, obviously, but the less eager members direct everyone’s focus to the spatters of black blood Dink left behind—he’s injured, and there’s only one person aside from themselves with the ability to inflict such damage on the lizalfos. With that, they drop down into the canyon and follow the blood trail, correctly suspecting it will lead them back to Legend.
I didn’t have a plan for what would happen beyond this point. I wrote about them finding Legend, but no further. That being said, I think it’s only fair to offer a bit of what I have written as an apology. Without further ado, I present to you a paragraph of “Another Canyon Thing.”
There are two parts, the beginning and then the end of the middle, sort of.
The Beginning:
Dusk blankets the canyon softly when Legend wakes up, cold, in pain, and alone. He blinks, licking his dry lips and trying to gauge the extent of the damage to his body. All he finds is a cold pin-and-needles feeling. That will undoubtedly change when he moves, so he braces himself to sit up, and slowly adjusts his arms to push himself off the ground. Almost as soon as he does, searing pain spreads through his chest, banishing the pins and needles and causing to inhale sharply. He exhales a string of curses, forcing himself to breathe normally until the searing seeps into a steady throb, with sharp stabs every time he breathes in.
He very painstakingly sits the rest of the way up, discovering along the way the remainder of his injuries. Overall, he lists broken ribs, broken ankle, violently bruised shoulder, and he tacks on a concussion, judging from the position he woke up in, and the location of his wounds.
And here is the End of the Middle:
It hurts to breathe, as little as he can, he can’t feel his extremities and the warmth that’s making them numb is beginning to seep into the rest of his body. Otherwise, it’s cold, and his body is growing heavier with every second that passes. He grips his sword a little tighter. He knows what Twilight meant, now.
“This pain…This fire burning in my blood…I can feel it.”
“It’s killing me.”
It’s killing me.
I’m not afraid to die.

I apologize for the sudden disappearance, I had to take some time away from social media. Nothing aimed at me personally, I just get stressed out with it trying to get my attention. I already have to deal with people doing this offline.
Its a new year and I'm being hit up again for knowledge about precious stones around the region. Naturally I'm wary about what I say and to whom, especially after a past incident, so I demand some kind of offering in exchange. Not monetary. The person has to do their research and get to know me first. It's the only way I can be sure I won't get taken advantage of again. I've rejected about three offers now, my gut and past experiences told me they were less than trustworthy.
The one offer I did approve of was a very young kid. Well..they're probably 20, but compared to MY age, that's practically a child. They're the first that young to seek me out, which they said wasn't an easy task. All the info they had on me was a link through a professor in Soccoro, but the information about my whereabouts was outdated, so they had to track down my brother to the local space museum, get a bit of his time, convince him to contact me, agree on a meeting place, then hunt me down up north, got lost going to said meeting spot, but eventually I met with them halfway.
Lol I felt so bad for them. Unlike the other other three, they went about it the long way around. I'm a very private person, made even more elusive since my extended family chooses to ignore my existence being the black sheep, and I've since cut ties with them long ago. So very few know where I am anymore. Top this off, my guard duties are strictly at night, so you can imagine this poor child being a bit apprehensive of meeting me nearly before dawn, since I'm asleep during the day.
But I made it up to them by treating them to the best coffee spot I know, and explained how I operate. We've since been keeping touch, and a few dats ago, they presented me an assortment of high quality tea ordered directly from India, and a beautiful pair of copper bracelets, which I felt was sufficient enough to tell them where they could find fire opal. I'd even take them there if they wish. It's a tad tricky as the road there is completely dirt with many switchbacks. It's very easy to get lost out there, if you know anything about a desert, is that everywhere looks the same. Last thing you want is to waste gas out there trying to find a way out. And there isn't a gas station for miles, or really any civilization.
We'll be going to that location once the snow clears, which might be around March. In the meantime, we'll keep in touch, and I might try to contact that professor they talked to. I know her. I haven't spoken to her in some time, not since her brother was caught up pursuing me. Heh. He was cute, I admit. I have a thing for redheads. Sadly it wouldn't have worked out at the time, I was going through hell with my mom's dysfunctional family drama. That's why I hate large families. Everyone fighting over territory, who's in charge of what, and petty grudges over things that happened centuries ago. I ain't about that shit.
But yeah, that's been going on as well as doing some spring cleaning, looking for paint to renew my room this summer, planting things indoors, cultivating dinoflagellates, and bracing for another winter storm from Colorado. I'm waiting for a shipment of henna as well, been wanting to decorate myself again.

Writer Asks! 11, 15, 30, 49
Thanks agains Ash!! <3 (Long answer is long, so I'll put a read more after the first one. On that note I'll link the question list here: questions for fic writers)
11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?
I am very partial to Reggie (82 of my 99 fics are tagged with him, granted a lot of those are prompts but STILL. Plus I don't know if it's because other picked up on that too or not but like almost every time I open up prompts Reggie is almost always the top requested character)
I adore adorkable, rays of sunshine. Like I have 3 go to charcter types (two personality based ones, and then dark haired/light eyed characters) and like my wife picked up on Reggie being my fav before I even said anything to her, because he fits 2 out of the three.
It's at the point where if Reggie's Jam(or Now or Never) comes on in the car and the GPS interrupts the song, she just automatically restarts it knowing I'm going to anyway because HOW DARE.
He's a Star Wars fan with musical chops, he's a little airheaded bt he's got a heart of gold. And there is so much you COULD theorize and speculate about his character just because of what's been revealed and how he was played and I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!
15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?
AAAAAAH! OMG!! but I have so many!!
I love my Supernatural Romance AU's (Feats of Crimson, We Run Together(it may only have the one fic but that is the verse name), Closest to Heaven, and Devil Searching For Redemption)
So those are definitley my top 4 but I don't know if I can rank them beyond that! They're all so good for different reasons!!!
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
Sink Your Teeth was out of my comfort zone regarding the intimacy. I am bad at writing action and being intimate is a type of action I hadn't really attempted before. (In fact prior to Slices of Summer-Fireworks I hadn't written that much in the way of kissing scenes, I think I'd only written one other kiss before then and it practically amounted to 'and they kissed')
I had a similar issue with I Could be the Monster with the Alex POV section because that one had a lot of action (It originally was supposed to have more and be MUCH more detailed but I think it flows fairly well with how it ended up.)
In each of those cases I struggled and wrote and worried and ended up sharing/posting thinking this will surely be hated/flop because all I could see was all the ways I could improve, or how it was envisioned in my head. And every single time the almost exact opposite happened.
Which just keeps reminding me A: to stop doubting myself, B: it's ok to take risks with my writing(I won't improve otherwise), C: Allowed me to sort of mentally give myself to pursue MORE stories like that.
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
Right now I am actively working on a few things atm, The next chapters of While You're in the World, Can't Get You (Out of my Mind), and I'm almost always slowly pecking away at my rulie fake/convenience marriage fic. Here's a few lines from each of those!:
.
R: luke
R: I’m serious
R: if ur not up I’m leaving ur ass
L: you wouldn’t
L: but don’t worry
L: I’ll be up
Luke was absolutely right, Reggie didn’t leave him behind when he wasn’t awake the next morning. However, the dark haired boy had no qualms against pummeling Luke with a pillow until he did wake up and got dressed.
.
“That’s a bit of a story.” Luke’s voice sounded over his shoulder, where Julie’s eyes drifted to. Reggie hadn’t thought this part of their plan through. He’d so quickly become accustomed to Luke’s vibrancy he almost entirely forgot he was dead, and very much looked it.
He braced himself as he watched the shock overtake Julie’s face, at this point he had almost been screaming. Reggie’d also forgotten how much Julie liked to unknowingly defy his expectations.
“I’m dreaming,” She exhaled as she turned away from Luke and himself.
.
WTF!?
JULES IS THIS YOU?!
Julie squints down at her phone, as a tension pulls inside her chest. The thoughts that had been swarming around her head like a beehive clear away only slightly as she tries to piece together what Flynn is going on about. She clicks the link to the video that was sent and immediately her stomach drops to her feet.
It’s not a very long video nor is it very clear, shaky and obviously taken by someone at a bit of a distance. However, she recognizes the building in the shot, the very same chapel she and Reggie had been at earlier that day-yesterday? What time was it?
Julie doesn’t care about the time soon enough as the video zooms in and focuses on Reggie, his broad smile only briefly obscured by what must be the back of her head, her dark braids falling into cascading curls. Julie forgets how to breathe as her chest collapses in on itself.
She remembers this exact moment and watches in a sort of distant horror, nausea building in the pit of her stomach, as Reggie laughs before linking arms with her. There is no denying she and Reggie very clearly, very soberly, very deliberately, walk arm in arm into the chapel.

If stancy were endgame I can't even imagine how they'd handle Jonathan, unless they did it by doing a big time jump at the end where jancy had spent years together but amicably split and she reconciled with Steve later. In the current timeline, if jancy were endgame, I think Steve would move on much easier. He's already acknowledged he's a better person now, is moving forward slowly, has good friends and support in robin and Dustin and could go on and make something of himself if he pushed himself to. Jonathan is a little trickier. He has trust issues which wouldn't be helped by his girlfriend going back to the ex they said they didn't love. It would probably make him question if their relationship had ever been genuine. Would he resign himself to just staying with his family because he's so loyal and maybe because he can't afford a decent college? Does he become a loner again if argyle goes back to Cali? Would he go back to Cali with argyle to community college which I think would be a big disservice to his character.
The only good ending I would like to see for his character if jancy isn't endgame and off at college together would be for him to go to NYU but do they even remember that? I just hope they don't resolve the love triangle by killing Jonathan off ( I don't think they'll ever kill Steve, especially after Dustin's grief with Eddie) and having stancy endgame because she retreats back to Steve with Jonathan gone thinking he deserved another chance with her.
Hmmm that’s a good point about what would they do with Jonathan in the event Jancy isn’t endgame (this is just a hypothetical—they could be endgame). I mean yeah it would affect his trust issues a lot, but the bigger problem there is they don’t let him address his trust issues that come from being abused and co-parenting since the age of 12. It’s not like a relationship can fix his trust issues, even if it made him come out of his shell more.
Yeah idk—I think either he’d be devastated but expect it bc he’s already doing a ‘push them away before they push you away’ thing. Or because he’s braced for it and is really concerned for her happiness to the point he didn’t tell her about Lenora CC so she wouldn’t set her dreams aside (I still don’t get why he thinks she would), that he would accept it for the sake of her happiness, maybe?
But his self esteem is so fragile rn it seems, it makes you wonder how he’d do with his future plans—which imo is unfair to his character, a character who in s1 had problems, but was independent and had dreams in spite of hardships in his life. But now they’ve made him sort of losing sight of his dreams bc of his relationship problems which I don’t find sweet, I find unhealthy. He should be able to stand alone as a character. It also makes a lot of sense they finally showed him having all the pressure really get to him so he was basically self-medicating.
I do think Hopper becoming his father and Jonathan no longer feeling like he has to take care of his family in the same way (though he will always love and be very caring to them) would help him out whether Jancy stays together or not. He’d feel more free to pursue whatever dreams he has, even if those take him far away from home. Again, would love to see that addressed though in s5, like in a scene between Joyce and Jonathan. I do think the financial issues are still there though. And we don’t know if the show just forgot about NYU or what.
I am a little worried they could kill off Jonathan in s5 for a few reasons. But if stancy got together after that, that would look a mess.

Hi!
Stole this from another anon, but how would the ROs react if they were arguing with the mc and accidentally said something that really hurt the mc and the mc just turns around and leaves?
Yes I am in an angst mood, it’s not my fault, the there was only one bed scenario put me there 😭
(Absolutely adore your game by the way, keep up the utterly amazing work!! ❤️)
Oh my goodness you stole it? Your guild would be proud! Thank you so much for your kind words and I'll try to deliver a nice fresh batch of angst, just for you! No because hurtful confrontations are definitely going to happen, I won't include what hurtful thing they say and just focus on the pain!
Merikh:
He knows it's more than cruel, it's foul.
But he says it anyway and braces for your reaction.
Everything in him wants to apologize but he just can't. Instead, while the shreds of decency left in him scream that he didn't he just stands there behind his desk, hands gripping the edge hard enough to make his knuckles turn white. He expects you to quip something equally hurtful at him, maybe even lash out and strike him, he could take either of those. But he wasn't prepared for the look of pure hurt that you gave him.
You look at him for barely a moment before you simply turn your back on him and begin to leave.
"Where—where are you going?" his voice almost cracks with emotion but he steadies it. But you might as well have not heard him because you're already opening the door. "I asked where you're going!"
The door slams behind you and he stands there stunned.
He practically spends the rest of the night rooted in place. Both waiting for you to return and restraining himself from pursuing you, an apology still at the tip of his tongue.
Laverna:
As soon as she said it she quickly covers her mouth, eyes wide in shock. She doesn't know where that came from or even why she said it. Slowly she removes her hands from her mouth and looks at you beseechingly, even grabbing onto your arm.
"I didn't mean that. Not a single word of it! I—really didn't and I am so sorry!"
She feels you pull away and the tears that had already begun to well up in her eyes begin to pour. They obstruct her view of you as you turn and walk out the door and in that moment she wishes that she was blind, or better yet mute.
She roughly wipes her tears with her sleeves and tries to go after you, but you've already vanished. She has to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from calling out to you, knowing that doing that could put you in danger.
That night she must have penned a hundred messages to you, begging for your forgiveness, but all ended up in the fire instead of your hands. She watches flames consume them and sobs, because if you truly turned your back on her for this, then those flames might as well be engulfing her future.
Sutek:
He knew that he could hurt you, but he never thought it would be his words that did it. You avoid his eyes as you move to the door, but he still saw that look and he needed to get rid of it.
"Wait." he barely get's it out before he has to move to get between you and the door. You open it and he closes it this time letting out a louder and a bit more desperate, "Wait! Please just— I know that I say the wrong things," He hits the door with a clenched fist, his eyes downcast but he still continues, "I know I do the wrong things but please."
He thinks it might be a question but he doesn't even know what he's asking for. Is it for forgiveness? For you to stay? He feels your hand on his arm and for a brief second, he thinks that the answer to whatever it is might be yes.
Then you move his arm off of the door and open it. And he watches you walk away, not even sparing him a second glance.
He let's his head rest against the door with a thud for long after you leave, trying to make peace with the fact that the answer must be 'no'.
Desma:
She knows she shouldn't but she tries to laugh it off. "Come on, maybe we both got a bit carried away, right?" You're quiet and she doesn't like what she's sure the silence holds. "You know I didn't mean it, right? Come on, I didn't mean it!" She can hear herself getting louder but she can't help it, she needs to fix it. But you're already walking away.
She doesn't hesitate to grab your hand and her insistence is bordering on begging, but you're still trying to keep walking.
"Why are you trying to leave? You don't have to leave—I," he eyes are darting around as if the solution is somewhere in the room and her mouth is running like it has some chance of catching you. "I take it back! How about that?"
You simply pull your arm out of her grip and leave. The last think she manages before the door closes is a shaky, "Please don't leave."
Nari:
She searches your eyes for any indication that these new words of hers have overruled the other ones but all she can find is hurt. She has to do something but this isn't something she can fight her way out of and talking is what got her into this, but still she has to try. She swallows thickly and begins to speak with more precision than she's even spoken in her entire life.
"You know that I have a crude and clumsy tongue and that I would never want to hurt you." She hesitantly reaches out and places a rough and calloused hand on yours before continuing. "You can pretend I never said anything. Please! Can we pretend I never said anything?" She tries to tamp down her panic but it still flares at the end of her words.
You pull your hand out of hers without a word and she closes it around nothing and as she watches you walk away and disappear into the crowd, she feels like that's all she will ever have.
Aretas:
He knew it was low, and now that he's said it, he feels all of his anger abandon him, leaving only fatigue and the desire for you both to go back to how you were before this argument. He rubs his hands over his tightly twisted hair and let's out a heavy sigh. "Let's just move past this." And he was sure that you both could, until he looks up and sees the look on your face.
"Don't make that kind of face."
He hated the look on your face, but he wouldn't have to see it for long as you quickly turned on your heels and began taking long strides, headed towards the door.
"Stop." he would sound intimidating if his voice wasn't wavering.
You didn't even act like you heard him and he knows he doesn't want to lose you over this.
He runs and hugs you from behind, holding on for dear life. "Are you expecting me to beg?" You move to pull away and he tightens his grip and hurriedly continues, "Because I will—I will! So please just stay with me."
You don't
He watches you slip out of his grasp, one step at a time, disappearing into the halls of the palace.
Sarai:
She was right. She knows she was right but as she sees the flash of pain on your face, she certainly doesn't feel right. Maybe an apology would make that look on your face disappear. Maybe it would put you both back in each other's arms like nothing had ever happened.
But why should she? She meant every word she said and she was right.
When you begin to leave she doesn't stop you, no she simply stands there, her clenched fist perfectly hidden in the fold of her gown.
"Leaving, are you?" her face is impassive, her voice almost mocking as she calls out to your retreating figure.
Turn around. Turn around.
She hates the part of her that wills it but still as she stands there she knows that if you turn around she'll give in and say the words. That she's sorry and wants you to stay. But you don't turn around, "I knew you'd leave. Sooner or later." her voice is soft and you're already gone.
Heka:
"I spoke from a place of anger and it's not just against my vows, it's also not fair to you. I'm sorry." his voice is solemn and his shame palpable.
The hurt on your face only just confirmed what he already knew as soon as the spiteful words clawed their way out of his throat.
He tries to look at you, but you've already turned away and he knows you'll leave him here. That you can't bare to look at him. In desperation he calls after you.
"I know I've driven you away and as much as I want you to stay with me, I understand if you can't!"
You don't stop, your footprints echoing in the quiet of the temple and even if it's futile he calls out to you before you round the corner.
"Next time I'll come see you and I'll make it right."
He can't sleep that night and and as his tears fall he looks at them in disbelief.
When did I become so out of control?

My Friend’s Father (Part Five)
Pairing: Cillian Murphy x Reader
Warning: Age Gap, Mild Sexual References
Words: 1,848
Notes:
I have decided to make this into a series.
Alright, no judgment. This was a dream of mine and I felt like I had to write it down. Everyone in this Fic is over the age of 18 and this Fic is in no way based on Cillian’s real family life. It’s pure filth.
 *************************
YOUR POV
Two weeks had passed since you visited your friend Denise in Dublin and it was time for the annual Galway Arts Festival.
Denise had been working on a photography project for the past year and had been nominated for a student award in Galway as part of which ten of her photographs were being displayed during the Arts Festival.
Whilst, as you had expected, Cillian didn’t contact you, you knew that he would be there to support his daughter. Being an artist himself, he was very proud of her and her work and he supported her projects not only mentally but also financially with the caveat that she would finish her degree at Trinity College.
Unlike him, he didn’t want her to drop out of university even though she hated it and you certainly understood his reasoning.
Contrary to Denise, you had no creative bone in your body. You enjoyed art and theatre, but weren’t an artist or performer yourself. Instead, you were an A Grade Law Student who had become rather bored in Galway and had recently applied for a scholarship to Oxford University.
Reading was your passion and you had always been known as a geek. In school, you were the girl that no one liked, nerdy, not interested in fashion or social media and wearing braces, which, luckily, had been removed three years ago.
You were shy and it was only for Denise that you came out of your shell. She was popular in school, mostly due to her name, but also because she was generally confident and, over the years, she helped you gain confidence especially after you had left high school.
But, today, you knew you would be questioning your gained confidence once again since, first of all, you would be seeing Cillian again and the truth was that you couldn’t stop thinking about him in an intimate way and, secondly, you were featured completely naked on some of Denise’s photographs.
Whilst the photographs were artistic and not sexual in any way and your most intimate part wasn’t visible on them, it bothered you knowing that people you disliked would see you so vulnerable and you couldn’t remember why you had agreed to being photographed like that.
The other woman who Denise chose to photograph was Amalie. She was 23 and had been Denise’s friend for a while as well but, unlike you, she began modelling professionally when she was just 16. You all went to the same private school together and, clearly, her lifestyle had been largely financed by her parents. She always wore expensive clothes and had no interest in pursuing a career other than modelling, which barely sustained her lifestyle considering the few small jobs she got.
***
Just as you served your last cup of coffee to an elderly lady sitting in the corner of the café you were working at, you saw Denise, Amalie and two other friends of Denise walk in.
‘Hey guys, take a seat. I will be right with you. I am just about to finish my shift’ you said as you hung up your apron.
‘Please tell me you will get changed before the Gallery opening tonight?’ Amalie asked somewhat weirdly and you couldn’t help but roll your eyes as you sat down at the table with her, Denise and the others before ordering some coffees for yourselves.
‘No, I thought I would go like this’ you said sarcastically, looking down at your coffee-stained clothes.
‘I bought a dress for tonight’ you then said, after Amalie didn’t seem to sense your sarcasm.
‘Right’ she then said as she flicked through Instagram and you simply looked at Denise who shrug her shoulders.
‘What are you looking for?’ you asked curiously as her eyes seemed to be glued to her phone.
‘She is looking to find more photos of my dad and Laura Jennings’ Denise said, rolling her eyes.
‘Laura Jennings, as in the actress?’ you asked, causing Amalie to nod.
‘Yes, apparently they have been dating’ Amalie then confirmed, causing you to swallow harshly. You knew that you shouldn’t care but you couldn’t help it. Knowing that Cillian was seeing someone made you feel ill.
‘And you care about that why?’ you then asked Amalie after an uncomfortable shiver ran down your spine.
‘Apparently, just like you, Amalie thinks my dad is a DILF’ Denise huffed out before telling you how disgusting you all were.
‘Well, he is though…he is super hot’ Amalie then joked before carrying on. ‘And I don’t understand how you don’t know about Laura Jennings and whether this is true or not. You need to find out’ Amalie then said but Denise simply shook her head.
‘My father doesn’t share this sort of stuff with me and I certainly don’t want to know about his sex life, thank you very much. In so far as I am concerned, he doesn’t have sex, ever…yuck! Also, I would appreciate if you could not talk about my dad anymore, please. It grosses me out’ Denise said and you knew that, all of this had become a common occurrence ever since the day the first episode of Peaky Blinders aired on BBC, a show which Denise refuses to watch herself because of the heavy sexual content and a show which you, only a week ago, had begun to binge watch.
Cillian’s POV
When Cillian walked into the basement after you had left, he immediately saw the small folded up note you had left him but, reading it, made him somewhat uncomfortable.
He was torn about what to do with it and certainly knew that he should ignore it. He couldn’t see you again even if he wanted to.
The fact that you were 23 years younger than him and that you were his daughter’s best friend made it all wrong and highly inappropriate and he didn’t know what had gotten into him in the first place when he gave into you.
He had never felt attracted towards you in any sort of way until that last visit which was the first time had seen you since you and your family had moved away.
You changed in many ways and he wasn’t sure what it was that he liked about you. But what he knew was that it was more than just sexual attraction, which was usually something he knew how to supress.
With that in mind, he placed your note into his wallet and decided to ignore it for now. But he couldn’t quite bring himself to throw it out.
***
With his bags packed it was time for him to return to Manchester and resume filming of the final season of Peaky Blinders.
The first week of filming went well and Cillian decided to spend the weekend with his friend, fellow actress Laura Jennings. Cillian and her had developed a friend with benefits sort of relationship. No strings attached and no feelings involved. After his divorce from Denise’s mother, he wasn’t ready for anything else and Laura would certainly not have been the type of woman he would have wanted a relationship with in the first place.
Unlike him, she wasn’t press shy and, whilst they kept their arrangement a secret as best as they could, she was otherwise quite active on social media.
Cillian, on the other hand, only maintained a private Instagram account with the sole purpose of being able to check on his children. Whilst they were adults, he was still worried about them, especially Denise who had recently gotten herself in a lot of trouble after distancing herself from this Jeremy boy.
***
‘Another wine?’ Laura asked as Cillian was relaxing on top of the doonas, wearing nothing but his black Calvin Klein briefs, after they had spent the last hour doing exactly what friends with benefits would do after not having seen each other for over two weeks due to busy filming schedules.
‘Yes please…thanks’ he responded as he reached for his phone after a notification had popped up.
It was his daughter Denise who had posted on Instagram and, since she hadn’t posted for a while, he decided to check it out, hoping that she wasn’t with Jeremy again.
To his surprise, three new pictures of Denise and her friends showed up when he opened the APP and, one of them, there was you.
In the picture, you were wearing accompanied by a man in his late twenties, wearing a suit while you were wearing a dark blue dress and he couldn’t help but wonder who the man by your side was.
You looked simply stunning, with your hair long and open and your shoulders exposed. You were wearing only a little bit of make up and showed your beautiful smile.
‘There you go Mr Murphy’ Laura then said as she returned to the bedroom with another glass of wine, pulling Cillian’s phone out of his hand and climbing on top of him.
‘Round Two?’ she then asked eagerly as she reached for another condom, but Cillian’s thoughts were elsewhere entirely.
‘Maybe tomorrow, I am tired. It has been a long week, sorry’ he explained, causing Laura to pout with disappointment.
But the second round never eventuated as Cillian left Laura’s house the following morning to drive back to Manchester to resume filming.
On his way back to Manchester, he called his daughter Denise to check on her and while he did, he enquired about your companion on the Instagram posts.
‘Why do you want to know?’ Denise asked somewhat confused but Cillian played it cool.
‘He looks familiar, that’s all. Didn’t he go to your school?’ he then asked, playing dumb.
‘Oh god no, he is 29. His name is Connor and he is an accountant. Y/N wouldn’t date anyone our age. You know she isn’t a normal 21-year-old’ Denise joked, referring to your nerdiness and intellect.
‘Apparently not’ Cillian chuckled before asking another question about the stranger on the picture. ‘So, they are dating?’ he asked.
‘I think they went on two or three dates or something. Why do you care?’ Denise asked.
‘No reason. I was just wondering’ Cillian confirmed before changing the topic.

Castiel has been able to see Glimpses of people’s future when he meets them for the first time—specifically when he first makes eye contact. It’s the big family secret and Castiel hates that he’s the one stuck with it. It’s infuriating—Gabriel asks if Castiel could make eye contact with some hot guy or girl to see if he’ll get lucky, and Castiel ignores him every time.
He doesn’t see the person’s entire life when he looks like them. It’s more like…a tsunami of information. Sometimes it’s images or feelings or sounds. Usually, Castiel can’t make heads or tails of what he experienced, so he stopped trying to interpret them a long time ago.
At this point, the flood of information is an annoyance, and he’s done his best to just avoid eye contact altogether.
Maybe that’s why Castiel is so quiet and keeps to himself. He doesn’t like meeting new people if only to avoid the data dump of another person’s future. He’s thankful he doesn’t get Glimpses when he looks at anyone he’s already Glimpsed, because he’s never be able to look Gabriel in the face. And anyone who Castiel had accidentally Glimpsed before have long since disappeared from his life, and Castiel is such a recluse that he hasn’t had a new friend in years.
Until Gabriel was an annoying asshole.
His older brother practically wrestled Castiel out of the house they shared to go clubbing. It had been a close fight and Castiel had gotten damn well near to biting Gabriel’s arm—but he eventually lost because Gabriel threatened to trample Castiel’s carefully cultivated garden in the backyard.
For the sake of his plants, Castiel reluctantly ducked into Gabriel’s obnoxiously bright red Camero.
“This is a stupid idea.” He grumbled, crossing his arms and keeping his hands tucked firmly against himself. “I’m just going to be standing there staring at the floor like an idiot.”
“No, you’re gonna keep that chin up and meet some people, Cassie.” Gabriel said briskly as they drove to Downtown. “Glimpsing a few people isn’t gonna change your life. You need friends, my bumbling, weirdo brother.”
“I can live my life just fine without friends, Gabriel.” Castiel snapped. “I have you, my cat, and my garden. I work from home and can support myself if needs be. What else do I need?”
Gabriel sighed.
“You’ll always have me, Cassie.” He said. “But have you ever thought about what you want?”
No. Of course he hadn’t. Castiel hadn’t had the luxury of knowing what he wanted since he first discovered the Glimpses.
“Your Glimpses shouldn’t be what stops you from having a life, little bro.” Gabriel continued firmly. They were in Downtown now, string lights lighting the two way street and neon signs making the air gleam in multicolor. Castiel’s chest clenched with anxiety, carefully avoiding the stream of bodies moving up and down the sidewalks in case he made eye contact with as passers by.
Gabriel pulled into the VIP spot of his nightclub, Sugar+Spice and grinned at Castiel.
“C’mon, brosky, time to swim amongst the fishes.” To complete Gabriel’s inspiring speech, he slapped two condoms into Castiel’s hand and ducked out of the car before he could throw them back.
Grumbling under his breath about invasive brothers, Castiel begrudgingly followed Gabriel through the back entrance of the club.
It was loud, hot, and chaotic. Despite not having made eye contact with anyone yet, Castiel’s senses were immediately overloaded with noise and light. He could barely hear Gabriel over the din, risking a glance up in an effort to read his lips.
This way. He seemed to be shouting. Gabriel grabbed his hand and tugged him along anyway. Castiel allowed himself to be dragged, bumping through a crowd of people with his eyes fixed on their passing feet.
Gabriel took him up to a slightly quieter, less crowded second floor and sat him down at the bar.
“Alfie!” Gabriel called to the bartender, rapping his knuckles on the glass bar top. “Dirty Shirley for my fruity brother!”
“Gabriel!” Castiel hissed. He didn’t necessarily care if people knew he was gay, but he didn’t want Gabriel going on trying to get him laid.
“Coming up, boss.” Alfie called, already moving nonstop and smoothly as he tended to the other patrons lining his bar top.
“See ya, Cassie.” Gabriel clapped his shoulder. Castiel’s heart seized with terror.
“Gabriel, don’t you dare—“
“Sorry little bro, I’ve got club owner responsibilities to attend to.”
And then, Castiel was alone. Alfie’s slim hand set a red-pink colored drink in front of him and moved on before Castiel could think he would wait a second for a thanks. He was probably too busy to care for social expectations like please and thank you.
Castiel didn’t know how long he had sat there, hunched over his drink and staring at the bar top resolutely. Gabriel could drag his ass into public, but he couldn’t make him talk to people.
People seemed to catch the hint to leave him alone, or maybe Alfie had warned them against it before Castiel could sense their presence. Some tried, though, but Castiel just shook his head. That was usually enough to leave him be.
It was well after 1 AM when he’d finally had enough sitting around and staring at his drink to ward off horny one nighters. He stood, determined to find Gabriel and force him to take him home. He was tired, anxious, and terrified of this place and of people. He didn’t like Glimpsing—it was like intruding into their privacy and instead of doing it intentionally like how a burglar would invade a home, it was hurled at him when he didn’t want it. The last time Castiel had Glimpsed, the images and noises had been too much. It had overloaded his mind and nearly made him pass out from the onslaught.
The last time he had Glimpsed was the first time he’d met a future serial killer. One could imagine why Castiel didn’t like Glimpsing anymore.
He pushed his way through the crowd, trying to find Gabriel’s recognizable white dress shoes amongst the writhing sea of legs and lower bodies.
Castiel finally reached the stairs, the door swinging shut and blessedly blocking out the din of the dance floor. The peaceful silent lasted for only a moment, though.
“Whoa, Jesus!”
Castiel slammed into a very solid form and went tumbling backwards, his back hitting the bottom staircase with a painful thud before he toppled back onto the concrete floor.
“Shit, shit, shit! I’m so sorry! Jesus fuck, here, lemme help—“
The person he collided into was scrabbling down the last few stairs, kneeling over him and grabbing his arms.
“Hey, man, you okay?”
Castiel’s entire body was ringing with the aftershock of his fall. His back throbbed painfully, already promising a nice purpling welt.
Maybe it was the pain, or maybe the ringing in his head muted out higher reason, or maybe just fate, but Castiel drifted his gaze to stare at the person who had run into him.
The moment he met the pair of green eyes the color of matcha and wild grass, he was assaulted with an onslaught of Glimpses.
Warm, comforting yellow and orange, the color that light up a home on a cozy, winter night.
The sizzle, pop and bang of fireworks in a dewy field, ringing with a pair of laughter. Bursting, bright colors lighting up a starry sky.
Metallic, greasy smell of an auto shop, the sharp chemical scent of acrylic paint, the words Winchester Auto in neon lights on the top of a busy garage and art studio.
But the main image, the one that always came through crystal clear when he had a Glimpse—
was Castiel himself.
He couldn’t force the image away, or what followed after.
It was Castiel, looming over the man’s point of view with his arms braced on either of his vision. His own face was slack with pleasure as his entire body moved up and down in a very obvious thrusting motion. His eyes were bright and wide and so full of something warm and gentle and careful that Castiel didn’t believe he could ever really do that.
He closed his eyes, willing the main image and surrounding flashes of senses to fade.
“Dude, please tell me you’re okay.” The man fretted, his hands now cupping Castiel’s face and shaking slightly. The way the man was leaning over him looked so much like how Castiel was leaning in the Glimpse that it brought him back to himself.
He sat bolt upright, smacking foreheads with the man and immediately making himself dizzy again.
“Ow.” They both mumbled. The guy scrambled back to give Castiel some space.
“You okay, man?” The guy asked again, staring at him with wide eyes. Castiel’s first reaction was to advert his eyes, but this time for an entirely different reason than the Glimpse. His cheeks burned with the embarrassment of what he had just witnessed.
“Yes.” He managed, but it sounded strained. The man, apparently took that strain as pain instead of mortification.
“Oh shit, you’re probably all banged up, shit. Did the stair hit your back? Did it break the skin?” Suddenly, warm hands were gingerly touching his lower back, feeling for the welt already swelling. Electrical shocks rippled under his skin despite the layers of clothes between him and the hand, but Castiel hissed sharply when the pressure of his fingers hit the welt.
“Sorry, hang on. Don’t move too much, not until I can be sure you didn’t break anything.” The guy was completely unfazed by touching Castiel. It was a gentle touch, but definitely clinical. Was this guy a nurse? Doctor?
“I used to be a paramedic.” The guy answered Castiel’s unspoken speculation. He gently pressed around the welt. “Anything hurt?”
“No.” Castiel managed faintly, his brain already providing unhelpful scenarios where the man’s hand drifted lower and suddenly his last Glimpse was coming true right then and there—
“Okay, I don’t think anything’s broken.” The guy said, sounding relieved. “Can you stand?”
“Yes. It’s just a bruise.” Castiel said, his defenses rising with the determination to never allow that last Glimpse to come true. There were too many risks, too many dangers associated with having friends, let alone pursue a romantic relationship. For this man’s sake and for Castiel’s sanity, he would do everything in his power to stop that Glimpse from happening.
“I’m alright, thank you.” He said quickly, stepping back to allow an acceptable amount of space between him and the man.
“Okay, uh, good.” The guy said, ducking his head sheepishly.
Please don’t. Castiel begged helplessly, staring as the man glanced up at him through his lashes. He was undeniably gorgeous. Light brown hair styled lightly and freckled, tanned skin. Those enrapturing green eyes that made Castiel want to smother himself in that very shade, framed by long lashes. Plush pink lips and a little scruff that Castiel wanted to feel on his skin. Broad shoulders filled a worn leather jacket over a flannel and Henley. Oil-stained jeans and scuffed boots. Rugged and beautiful.
What the hell did future Castiel do to secure a night with this man? How did an awkward, nobody with a fear of people manage to have sex with this perfect, gorgeous man who could get anyone he wanted?
“Sorry about that, man. I swear I don’t go running into hot guys as a pick up line.”
Castiel’s jaw dropped, and the man went very red when he realized what he’d said.
“Ah, fuck. I-I didn’t mean, that’s n-not—shit, I didn’t mean for it to come out like that—“
“It’s alright.” Castiel cut him off hastily. “I’ve actually got to go. I’m supposed to meet my brother and he’s probably worried that I haven’t shown up.”
The man looked embarrassed but startled by Castiel’s hasty retreat. But he moved to let him up the stairs.
He was already a few steps up when the man spoke again.
“Sorry again, man.”
It was a mistake to turn back around, but Castiel did, perhaps selfish enough to indulge in the man’s beauty one more time.
Then something happened that never happened before. Castiel had another Glimpse when he met his eyes.
It was gentler than the first, like an aftershock after an A-bomb.
Deep, sweet spices mixed with buttery pie dough and tangy apple.
A warm, soft red that enveloping his entire body like an embrace to protect and cherish.
The man’s deep, rough voice murmuring “Cas” with such profound affection and care.
Then, Castiel’s voice answering in the same low, gentle caress of soft happiness—“Dean”.
This could not be happening.

Day 03: Watersports Title: Desperation Pairing: Shigaraki x Reader Word Count: 2k Warnings: Noncon, omorashi, watersports (both pissing AND being pissed on), humiliation, degradation (like, seriously A LOT), choking, yandere Note: I have reasonable friends who talked me out of the yellow water banner I was going to use because I am clearly a mature adult. But I will not be persuaded on my yellow dripping piss font.

“Alright guys, I’ll be right back,” you tell your friends, having to raise your voice to be heard above the booming techno music of the club. “Gotta go to the bathroom.”
“I guess someone drank a bit too much,” your friend giggles a bit as she sways on her feet. Several people from your hero agency have all come to celebrate the successful capture of a villain you’ve all been pursuing for months, a member of the notorious League of Villains. Things got just a bit out of hand, and you’ve all had too much to drink.
You stand up, grabbing briefly onto the bar before you right yourself and head to the bathroom. The bathroom is hard to find, far away from the main dance floor, and in the time it takes you to find it, your need becomes much more urgent as all the alcohol catches up with you.
If you were less drunk and more alert, you would have already noticed the red eyed, blue haired man who has been watching you the whole night. But you’ve barely been paying attention to anything but drinking and dancing, and so nothing seems amiss as you enter the bathroom, being closely pursued by the man who finally sees the opportunity to get you alone.
It isn’t until you enter the women’s bathroom that you realize there’s a problem. The door abruptly closes behind you, lock clicking loudly through the close quarters of the room. You whirl around, just a bit unsteady on your feet and meet the eyes of the man blocking the door.
You recognize him immediately. After all, you’re a pro-hero, and he’s been in the news for multiple attacks as Japan’s most wanted criminal. The leader of the villain you just helped to capture and arrest
Although you’re in absolutely no shape to fight him off, you don’t intend to go down without at least trying. You stand up straight, waiting for him to rush you, preparing every muscle to spring into attack the second he moves. But even being prepared for an attack doesn’t do you any good. You’ve always heard how fast Shigaraki moves, but you’re still taken by surprise as he crosses the length of the bathroom so quickly that you can barely see him, pinning you roughly against the wall.
“Little hero, it’s really not smart to be this drunk, you know,” he snorts derisively. “Especially not as a hero who just captured one of my members.”
Shit, shit shit, you curse to yourself, he knows that you’re responsible. Although you knew it was a long shot, you were still hoping this was a chance meeting, a complete accident. But now you realize that Shigaraki has probably been stalking you for a while.
He sees the realization on your face and laughs at you. “Yeah, I know exactly who you are, hero,” he spits the word hero out like it’s a curse. “And I decided to follow you and teach you a bit of a lesson on what happens when you fuck with the League of Villains.”
And with that, he wraps a hand around your neck, pinky raised barely above your skin as he begins to tighten his grip. You grab at his wrist as you try to pry him away, but it’s no use. You’re too drunk and he’s too strong, and you accomplish nothing but beating your fists uselessly against his arm.
Just when you’re beginning to see stars, about to pass out from the lack of oxygen, he releases you. You take gulping gasps of air as you steady yourself against the wall, hand flying up to touch your neck gently. You wince a bit at the burning sensation where his fingers dug deep into your skin and left marks.
Your eyes snap to his in confusion as to why he let you go, and you ask the question you’re afraid to know the answer to. “Are you - going to kill me?” You try to sound more confident, like the hero that you are. But you fall short, and Shigaraki smirks at your worried tone.
“No, I don’t think so,” he murmurs as his eyes roam down your body with a look of pure lust. “I’ve thought of something so much better than that.”
You instantly try to make a break for it while he’s not holding you in place, but he simply uses his hips to shove you back, grinding what is a quickly hardening erection against you before he pulls you in for a heated kiss. The kiss is more of a battle of dominance than anything else, one that you quickly lose as he overpowers you. His hand tangles into your hair, pulling you closer as he uses teeth to bite into your lip while his hand runs down your body. He grabs your dress in one hand, all five fingers touching the material, and you let out a sharp gasp as you watch the fabric turn into ash, leaving you in nothing but a bra.
“No panties? Fucking hero slut, were you expecting to get some cock tonight?
You shake your head back and forth, your confidence as a hero quickly failing you with every single thing this villain does and says. “N-no, of course not,” you stumble over your words. “I just -”
“Just what? Just wanted to show this pretty little pussy off to everyone?” He reaches down to cup you between your legs, finger dipping down below your slit to gently graze his finger over your clit. You buck a bit, trying to get out of his grasp, but he forces you roughly back against the wall. “Because I certainly saw it when you were sitting at that bar, presenting yourself to every person who walked through like a bitch in heat.”
Your bra is the next to go as he decays it like he did your dress. You feel the burning rush of shame as you stand completely naked in front of him.
You’re trembling now, both from his words and the fact that he’s continuing to graze your clit every so often, enough that you feel a brief stab of pleasure but not enough for anything else. You keep shaking your head, unable to find the words to refute his statements.
“Just admit it, hero,” he murmurs almost gently into your ear, “you wanted something like this to happen.”
“I - no, please stop, I don’t want this,” you plead, but you know that it’s not going to stop him from doing what he wants to you.
His finger goes slightly lower to slide into your entrance, curling up to hit a sensitive spot on your inner walls. You can’t contain the moan that slips out, pussy involuntarily clenching down around his finger.
“Shit, you’re fucking soaked and I haven’t even done anything to you. You really are a bitch in heat, aren’t you?”
He begins to aim for the spot that had you moaning, and once he finds it again, he doesn’t relent. You try to grab his hand and pull him away, but he grabs your wrist and slams it against the cold wall, causing you to whimper at the pain shooting out. It was then that you realized something horrible.
You still have to pee, and every movement he makes inside of you only causes it to get stronger. You begin to writhe even harder, crossing your legs as tightly as you can as you desperately try to hold it.
“What’s the matter, hero?” He mocks you in a cruel tone. “You’ve been drinking a lot tonight, and I bet you’re starting to feel it.”
“No no, please, please just let me go,” you whimper as you clamp your inner muscles down, squirming away to try and relieve the pressure.
But in your distraction, Shigaraki has unzipped his pants, and he forces you to bend over the counter as he strokes his cock in one hand. Your nipples are pressed against the cold surface, causing them to quickly harden as you shiver from the cold.
Something thick and hard prods against your entrance, and you try to brace yourself for what you know is about to happen.
It’s not as if there’s a damned thing you can do about it.
When he begins to push inside, a groan tears from both of your throats as he slides in inch by inch. You’re embarrassed to realize that he was right when he said how wet you are, as there’s not even any pain as his thick cock bottoms out inside of you.
The desperate need to pee is even more intense now, causing tears to run down your face as you throw away what little pride you have left.
“Please, I have to -” you trail off, too embarrassed to finish your sentence.
“Have to what? I can’t help if you won’t tell me,” his malicious tone contrasting with the soft words.
I have to pee,” you whimper pathetically, “please let me pee.”
“Then go,” he chuckles darkly, “I’m not stopping you. In fact -”
He reaches around to press down on your bladder, causing you to squeal as a small trickle of pee dribbles out. “I’ll even help you. Aren’t I so nice, hero?”
He begins to pound into your pussy, pushing down on your bladder in time with every thrust. Your crying does nothing but encourage him to go faster and press down even harder on your stomach.
Finally, you can’t hold it anymore, and you let out a choked sob as your bladder releases, hot piss running down your legs and drenching Shigaraki’s pants. He lets out a low groan at you pissing all over his cock, reaching down into the stream to get his hand wet.
He begins to increase his pace, reaching down with the hand covered in your own urine to rub tight circles against your clit.
He grabs your hair, keeping one finger far away as he forces your back to arch and stare into the mirror at yourself.
“See how ruined you look?” He growls as he makes you look into the mirror at yourself. Your makeup is smeared from your crying, eyeliner running down your face. Your hair is an absolute mess, and there’s a four fingered handprint around your neck where he choked you.
“Please please please, don’t, I don’t want this, please,” you babble the words almost incoherently as his fingers grind hard against your swollen bead, cock continuing to hit your g spot with every thrust.
The pleasure finally overwhelms you and you cum with a strangled wail, pussy fluttering wildly around his cock. Your orgasm sends him over the edge, barely able to pull out of you before he’s shooting ropes of cum against your back. He strokes himself through his orgasm, milking his cock out all over your skin.
“Aww, it’s okay, hero,” he coos maliciously at you, “don’t you feel better now?”
His gaze turns contemplative as he seems to think of something, his eyes lighting up with amusement. “You know, since I helped you, don’t you think you should help me?”
You’re too out of it to realize what he means until you feel hot liquid splashing against your back. You meet his eyes in horror, only for him to smirk at you. “It’s only fair, isn’t it?”
He grabs you and flips you to your front as he also covers your tits, waiting until he’s completely finished before he tucks his cock back into his pants.
You have never felt as humiliated as you do right now, bent over a bathroom counter by a villain, shivering and covered in piss and cum. Your look of utter defeat causes Shigaraki to laugh.
“This is what you get when a pathetic level 1 hero goes against someone like me,” he sneers at you as he begins to walk to the door. “If you decide to try something like that again, I’ll just have to come back for you.”
He gives a dark chuckle as he glances back at you one last time.
“Or maybe I will anyway.”

Mr. Kent comes in to shake that way of thinking up and its all with your best interest at heart (well his best interest at heart){Cheesy, am I right?}
"For the weekend's assignment. Something very simple, almost high school level. Don't complicate it." Mr. Kent said dragging his feet to tell you all what the stupid assignment was.
"Get to the point." You thought out loud as you rested your head in your hand. He glared at you for moment before continuing. You felt your face flush, because-'no way he heard me' you thought.
"I want you all to write me a paper on...one thing you like about yourself and why." He rushed out. "I want you all to be as genuine as possible, if you're going to be journalists you have to capture your audience. If you can sell yourself, then you can sell a story. If you're a snooze fest......I honestly don't know what to tell you" He chuckled
Everyone groaned because why???
"Due next Monday on the dot. NO EXCEPTIONS!" He belted. "If you don't have your paper on Monday, you will stand up and give a 5 minute speech on said topic."
'What kind of teenage topic is this?' You thought.
"Don't give me lip guys, you signed up for this. I didn't make you do anything." He said pointing at all of you. "No complaining. Monday! Class dismissed." He announced causing everyone to scatter. You were just about out the door when he stopped you.
"Y/n, can you stay back for bit?"
"Yeah sure." You immediately got nervous. You weren't used to being singled out, you always managed to stay below the radar. You'd figured out ways to stay out of sight out of mind after always being criticized by your family, so getting asked to stay back wasn't a normal thing. You braced yourself for the "you can do better speech" and hoped it wouldn't take too long. You watched as the room emptied and he gathered his stuff.
"Come on, lets step into my office." He said leading the way with his hands full. "Have a seat." he said motioning to the chair in front of his desk. you sat feeling butterflies in the pit of your stomach. Literally everyone would've given anything to be where you were. Mr. Kent was almost mythical. You didn't know a day where you didn't think 'DAMN that man know he fine!' And you knew he knew it.
"Bet you think I'm gonna talk about your grades." he chuckled. "While I do require your improvement,"
'Require?' you thought hoping your face didn't covey your attitude.
"I wanted to talk about something else."
"O-kay?"
"I've notice, you're very um...to yourself, is everything-"
'Oh there it is.'
"Mr. Kent, please don't analyze me. I am a whole different breed of human. I don't do people."
"I'm sorry?" he asked tilting his head.
"I just value my alone time. You can't have that with people."
"You can still have space with other people in your life." he said shaking his head at you.
"I didn't say space, I said alone time, and that's not the same. That's still with people. Like, no." you said crossing you arms.
He stared at your for a second, the he began to laugh, and rub his eyes. "You really are something."
"Mm-hmm its true."
"I'm just saying its healthy to get out and socialize every once and awhile, not all the time, I mean-don't you get lonely sometimes?
"No, not really. I mean don't give me wrong I'm human. I get the urge to hang out, then I do, then I remember why I didn't want to do it in the first place." you said realizing you were almost ranting. He eyed you as if he didn't believe you.
"I tell you what, I know you say you're fine, but for my sanity, can we be friends? You know just someone to check on you, make sure you're okay? If-if you hate it by the end of the week then I'll let it go."
"Mr. Kent, no offense, but why do you care? I mean, you have your own life, I'm sure you got a nice family you should be there for, so like....I'm gonna need a it all to make sense."
"Its mean, don't get me wrong I enjoy solitude too, and its not because I don't like people," he chuckled, "but I know what its like to sometimes need someone I could just talk to when I really needed it most and not having it. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Its funny because it would always lead me home."
"Well that's the difference between you and me, there is no going back." you sighed. You contemplated it 'It couldn't hurt could it?' "Okay."
"Okay?"
"We can be friends." you resigned.
"Great!" he said clapping his hands together.
"Only til the end of the week." You said standing stretching. "So we good? Can I go?"
"Actually, what are you doing tonight? I mean, my ma is cooking dinner and-"
"Okay anything food related, I'm down." You cut him off.
"Good, well I'll pick you up at 6?"
"Yeah sure." You said trying to get away.
"Uh, Y/n?"
"Yes?" You asked sweetly.
"I'm going to need your address." He said knowing you knew he needed it.
You gave you your information and booked it out of there. You immediately went home and took a nap. The whole ordeal was a bit draining for you.
It was your phones constant vibrating that woke you out of a deep sleep. You let it ring a few more times before picking it up.
"What?" You groaned into the phone.
"Y/n are ready? I'm like 15 minutes away." Mr. Kent asked.
"Ready for what?"
"Food?"
"Food? Food! Oh shit!" You said jumping up remembering dinner plans. "I'll be ready when you get here." You said quickly hanging up and rushing to get ready. By the time you felt you looked decent enough, he called and told he was there. When you walked out to meet him, you saw his girlfriend was with him and you put on a small smile. 'Of course he has a girlfriend, why wouldn't he. Still a bummer though, oh well.' you thought to yourself as you walked toward them.
"Y/n this is Lois, Lois this is Y/n. Lois is one of the top editors at the Daily Planet." He bragged, and you immediately got nervous. You'd read her work and you'd give to be as good, even better at writing.
"It really is nice to meet you, Clark speaks very highly of you and your writing." she said smiling.
"Really? I mean writing is my passion, I'm aspiring to get at least in the door. I'm not an editor or professor, but I think I'm okay." You said realizing you were babbling on because of your anxiety.
"Be confident in your work. It shows when you really mean what you're writing about. It also shows when you're doubting yourself." She said smiling at you. You immediately liked her and hoped to get to know her for advice sometime. You all got in and they fell into easy chatter along the way. Every now and again they'd touch on a topic you'd find interesting or be excited about, and you'd really get into it, smiling and being expressive. You'd catch Clark staring at you, a bit shocked at how much you had to say after months of being so quiet, and you'd retreat like a turtle back into your shell. You tried to not enjoy being around them, but every now and again, you liked talking to people on your level. Every now and again, you'd get lost in the breeze of the night air. You'd look out and get lost looking at the stars and the moon out of the open window of the moving car. You get so lost you forgot the other two people in the car and you'd miss the glances Clark took at you through the rearview mirror. When you all arrived at his moms farm you practically gawked at all the land around. You driven by open field and corn fields, you'd never actually gotten to see it up close.
As you all got out, his mom stepped out and waved at you.
"Well, looks like we got extra family tonight." she said smiling. You immediately felt a bit awkward. "Oh dear don't be shy, any friend of Clark is family." She said pulling you into a big hug.
"Thank you for having me Mrs. Kent." You said smiling.
"No go on now you just call me Martha." she said smiling and leading you inside. "You two come along, you know the routine." She said waving Lois and Clark inside. Dinner was great, you even found yourself laughing out loud. It exhilarated you and scared you to have such a good time around other people. You almost, ALMOST, didn't want the night to end, but you missed your bed. As if reading your mind, Clark announced it was time to leave.
"Looks like someone is ready for bed." He chuckled.
"Yep, I miss my solitude." You said stretching. Clark shook his head at you.
"What?" You asked innocently.
You said your final farewells and got in the car heading home. The ride home was peaceful, there was a calm silence between you three and you smiled watching the love exchanges between the two. You could see how much he loved her and you could understand why, Lois was beautiful woman. Your mind jumped from reasons you weren't in a relationship, to the assignment Clark had given you for the weekend. One thing you like about yourself? That topic was always hard for you and you couldn't even begin to find the words to start. Over the years you'd tried hard to accept yourself, love yourself, and be who you were unapologetically, but the moment you got to the threshold of truly giving yourself a chance, all of the criticism, judgment, and years of being invalidated filled you with fear and dread and you'd go back to your shell and do what you did best. Stay in your own bubble. Tears stung your eyes as you tried to stomp down the voices of doubt and resentment, 'It's okay, I'm good, I do what I have to and I'm happy with it. I'm at peace.' you thought to yourself over and over.
"You okay?" Clarks deep voice full of concerned pulled you from your thoughts and you shook you head to bring yourself back to reality.
"Yeah, just trying to stay awake." you said avoiding his gaze. The ride continued in silence and you couldn't help but drift off. One moment you were letting the ride soothe you to sleep and the next you heard a voice cooing you to sleep.
"Shh shh shh it's okay" Clark whispered. You couldn't help but cover your eyes. You were in Clark's arms as he carried you to the apartment.
"Woah," you said trying to get out of his arms. He gently placed you on your feet like a flower.
"Hey, its okay, calm down." He said gently rubbing your arms.
"S-sorry, I've just never-"
"Had anyone carry you before." He said finishing your sentence. You shifted feeling a bit awkward.
"Well, thanks for dinner. Thanks Lois!" You waved at her before going to your door. "Goodnight." you said one last time as you got inside. During the weekend you were extremely restless and was finding it hard to concentrate long enough to work on your assignment. Even when you sat waiting for words to form in your mind you eventually got busy doing something different. The night before class, you had an idea pop in your head, and you decided to go for it. You just hoped it would all make sense, it was the only think your mind focused on.

Benny Weir x Reader
Request:  hey i hope ur doing well! would u be able to do a benny x fem!reader where she’s really popular and has a crush on him and isn’t shy about it. benny likes her a lot too but he’s scared that she’ll just end up leaving him for another popular kid. so she makes multiple public declarations as well as takes him on a string of extravagant dates to show him how much she truly likes him.
Warning(s): none. A lot of star wars references. Like. A LOT.
Notes: I am doing fine thank you! Sorry for taking so long with this one. This was cute. I got a little side tracked from the main request and just went all in with the star wars theme, I’m so sorry.
Tumblr media
Y/N L/N was one of the most popular girls in school. That was undoubtable. She was a cheerleader, head of the prom committee, former homecoming queen, and her parents were one of the richest people in town.
But the fact that she had the biggest crush on Benny Weir, resident star wars lover, science wiz, and all around huge geek? Unbelievable.
Extremely unbelievable in Benny’s opinion, even if she had grown up in the house across the street from him.
And Y/N wasn’t shy about her crush on him. In fact, she was very unsubtle about it.
She left him hoards of candy in his locker, hung a bouquet of roses for valentine’s day, and stood on a cafeteria table to wish him the grandest of happy birthdays.
“Benny!” She cooed as she walked down the hallway with some of her other friends, who were currently rolling their eyes so far into the back of their heads that the nerd squad thought they might get stuck.
“Oh, no,” Benny said, a blush spreading across his cheeks as she approached him, Ethan, and Rory, leaving her posse behind.
“Benny, I rented out the entire movie theater for a star wars marathon this weekend, if you’re free?” She asked.
Benny could barely concentrate on what she said because of how close she was. He could smell her sugary perfume and see the school fluorescents shining in her pretty (e/c) eyes.
He stumbled over his words for a minute before spitting out, “Can’t! Already got plans with Ethan, can’t back out, been planning it for months, years, a whole decade. Can’t miss it.”
“We have?”
Benny elbowed Ethan in the ribs.
“Oh. Right, those plans. Yeah.”
You frowned, looking disappointed. “Oh. Okay.”
Your smile returned for a minute. “Can we reschedule then? Is tonight good for you?”
“Ah, well, you know what-”
The screech of the school bell interrupted him and he looked relieved.
“Well, look at that, saved by the bell! Sorry, Y/N, gotta get to class.” He took off down the hallway. It was the fastest Ethan had ever seen Benny run.
You turned to Ethan, looking more devastated than ever. “He hates me, doesn’t he?”
“Who? Benny?” he replied. “No. No, he doesn’t hate you.”
“Then why does he keep giving me excuses? The old Benny would straight up turn me down...” You said, crossing your arms and staring at the floor.
Ethan put a hand on your shoulder. “Hey, Benny absolutely doesn’t hate you. He’s just...nervous, I guess.”
“Nervous?” You echoed. “About what?”
“Well, you’re really popular and he’s...well, he’s Benny. He’s just afraid that you’re gonna leave him for someone like David Stachowski.”
You pulled a face. “Hairy Dave? No thanks. He’s dog.”
“You don’t know the half of it,” Ethan muttered.
“And you guys know I’m the same Y/N, right? Just because I run with a more popular crowd doesn’t mean I stopped liking nerdy things and stopped thinking about my nerdy friends.”
Ethan laughed. “It’s just a big change from how it used to be. You don’t have braces and a star wars backpack anymore.”
You returned the laugh, remembering how you used to be. “Well, I’ll just have to prove it to him. Will you help me?”
Ethan’s face contorted. “Ah, I don’t know...”
“Come on! Help me, Ethan Skywalker! You’re my only hope!”
Ethan sighed. You got him.
“Fine.”
“Yes!” You wrapped him in a hug. “Now let’s get to class!”
***
“Is everything ready?” You asked Ethan over the phone.
“Yeah, good on your end?” He replied.
“Yep. Movie theater is set. All up to you now.”
“On it.” He said before hanging up and shoving the phone in his pocket. He took a deep breath before bursting into Benny’s house and running up the stairs frantically.
“Benny!” Ethan shouted slamming his bedroom door open.
Benny let out a high pitched scream, falling from his desk chair onto the floor.
“They’ve got Y/N!”
“What?!” Benny bolted upright. “Who’s got Y/N?”
“A couple vampires out for revenge. They must have seen us talking at school the other day. They’ve got her trapped at the movie theater-”
“What are we waiting for?” Benny said, bolting out the door passed Ethan. “Let’s go! Grandma I’m taking the car!”
Ethan waved to Benny’s grandmother as he ran passed her, following Benny out the door.
He hoped this worked.
***
Benny parked the car and was about to run into the theater, guns blazing, but Ethan caught his elbow.
“Wait, wait, we can’t just burst in there! Look!” He said, pointing to the sign that read ‘Star Wars Original Trilogy Marathon - Tonight Only!’ People stood in a line out of the theater, dressed to impress in various Star Wars get ups.
Benny cursed. “Of course, the one time we need to get in there quickly they’re having a special screening.”
“We can use the side door,” Ethan said. “And here” - he handed Benny a storm trooper helmet - “we’ve gotta blend in or they’ll see us coming.”
Benny groaned. “They could be sucking her dry right now!”
“They want us, not her. And Y/N is not helpless. And I’ve got Erica and Sarah already in there scoping the place.”
“You called them before me!”
“They’re vampires!”
Benny just grumbled and put the helmet on, crossing his arms.
Ethan rolled his eyes. “Put on the costume and let’s go.”
***
Ethan and Benny snuck through the side door, dressed fully in storm trooper get up.
“This sucks, E. I can’t see a thing in this helmet.”
“What do you want from me, B?” Ethan retorted.
He suddenly let out a gasp and turned to Ethan. “Oh my god, E. This is a New Hope. I’m Han, you’re Luke, and Y/N is Leia. Yes! This is like my perfect dream.”
Ethan groaned. “I wish I could argue with you.”
“Ethan, Benny!”
The two turned to see Sarah and Erica running their way.
“What’re you guys doing here?” Ethan asked.
“What?” Benny turned to Ethan. “You called them, right?”
“Uh-”
“There’s a bunch of vampires here. Some of Jesse’s old friends that want revenge for his death.” Sarah explained.
“They’ve got the whole place on lockdown. They’re planning on locking all the star wars nerds in here and feasting.” Erica said.
“Oh my god, this is exactly like Star Wars!” Benny gushed.
“Yeah, okay, Han Solo, chill.” Ethan said. “But that does give me an idea. Where are they hiding?”
***
Erica scowled as Ethan and Benny led them up the stairs like prisoners. “I never agreed to being Chewbacca.”
“Shh. No choice.” Ethan retorted before pushing open the door to the control room.
There were three vampires sitting in there, they were staring out the small window, watching the movie before turning to the now open door.
“Who are you? And what have you here?” One of them sneered.
“We’re with you. Had to dress up to blend in. Caught these two trying to pull the fire alarm. Thought you might want to deal with them.”
Erica hissed at them and the leader, grabbed her by the chin. “Such a pretty face. Shame we’ll have to kill you.”
Erica kneed him in the crotch, making him groan.
“Look out! They’re loose!” Benny quoted, letting go of Sarah’s arms so that she could assist in beating the crap out of the three of them.
It was a good thing that Star Wars was a rather loud movie or the crowd might have been alarmed by all of the noise.
“All right, you scum,” Benny said, grabbing one that was barely conscious. “Where’s Y/N?”
“Benny-”
“Tell me!”
“Benny!”
“What?” Benny yelled at Ethan.
“They don’t have her. This was supposed to be a surprise for you. We were gonna find her in one of the empty rooms in the theater and then she was gonna take you to an empty theater and you two were gonna watch the marathon together. But now she’s alone in a room with a bunch of vampires around.”
“What?” Benny shouted. “For the love of- You go and get her, we’ll hold them here.”
“You mean we” - Erica gestured between her and Sarah - “will hold them.”
“Yeah, whatever, just go her!”
Benny pulled off the helmet and sighed.
“She really likes you, you know.” Sarah said.
“Come on,” Benny said with a bitter laugh. “Maybe right now, but once she gets me she’ll be off to the next guy in a week. That’s how they all are.”
“Not Y/N.” Erica replied. “She doesn’t get around. Never has. Her last boyfriend was a dick so if she’s pursuing you, she must really like you.”
Benny sighed. “Yeah, I know. I’m just scared. We kinda run in two different circles now, you know?”
“And you can’t overlap? According to what? The rules of high school? The world isn’t so black and white, Benny.” Sarah encouraged.
****
Ethan rushed down the hallway, looking on the door numbers for 2187 (a number you had modified for the surprise).
“Yes!” Ethan said, reaching the door. He quickly pulled it open to find you laying there on a table, decked out in an impressive Princess Leia costume. It looked like you’d fallen asleep.
“Y/N!” He called and you sat up.
“Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper?” You said cheekily. “Where’s Benny?”
Ethan rolled his eyes, pulling off his helmet. “No time!”
“Come on, say the line!”
“What? No, you don’t understand-”
“Ethan! Say the line!” You whined.
He sighed. “I’m Ethan Skywalker, I’m here to rescue you.”
You grinned broadly. “Thank you.”
“But seriously, I’m rescuing you. There are vampires here, and we need to get back to Benny, Sarah, and Erica.
“What?” You shouted, processing the information.
“Sarah and Erica are vampires. Good ones. But there are evil ones here that are planning on sucking the souls out of everyone in the theater and we’ve got to get them and you out of here.”
“What? Where’s Benny?”
“Come on!” Ethan encouraged and, just like the movie, you ran out first despite not knowing where you were going.
***
You met back up with Benny, Sarah, and Erica in the hallway, as they were backed against the wall with more vampires on the way.
“Where are they all coming from?” Sarah said, spraying a holy water gun and knocking one down.
“I don’t know but I know for sure we can’t get out that way.” Benny said.
“Looks like you cut off our only escape route. All the doors are that way!” You replied.
“Oh, I’m sorry, perhaps you'd like it back in your cell, Princess Leia!” Benny bit back at you sarcastically.
“Ethan, are the sprinklers still lined with holy water?”
“I don’t know. I never did anything to take it out.”
“Let’s give it a try!” Erica said, pulling out her lighter and holding it up to the sprinkler above her head, covering herself with her leather jacket and Sarah holding up an umbrella she had been using as a weapon.
The water almost immediately started spraying out, setting off the fire alarm and soaking the vampires attacking you, burning and hissing all the way down.
“What is your problem?” You hissed at Benny.
“Well, we wouldn’t be cornered if you hadn’t lured me here! And by using Ethan! I feel betrayed!”
“Oh, I’m sorry for trying to prove to you that I like you!”
“Ha! If you really liked me you wouldn’t have become so popular! Leaving your real friends to rot in geek town!”
“That wasn’t my fault! I did what I liked! You guys are the ones who thought I needed to change just because I did similar activities to the other rich kids!”
“Guys!” Ethan interrupted. “Not the time! We need a way out. Now.”
“Oh for the love of-” You rolled your eyes and opened up the trash cute. “Everybody in!”
“Ew. Do we have to go full star wars?” Sarah asked.
“Would you rather chance the holy water river?” You replied, pointing to the floor that was slowly filling up with more water.
“Good point. Let’s go!”
Sarah entered first, followed by Erica, then Ethan, then you, then Benny.
You all were spit out into the dumpster that was full of candy wrappers, old popcorn, and soda cups.
Erica toppled into Sarah and Ethan rammed into her. You managed to avoid their collision only to have Benny slam into you from behind.
You all groaned at the impact and rolled around for a minute, picking popcorn and sticky candy out of your hair and clothes.
“Oh, I’m gonna need a shower.” Ethan groaned.
“After this I think you all deserve a spa.” You said. “I’ll buy.”
“You better.”
“Well, that was not how I foresaw this night going,” You said, standing up with the others and pulling a candy wrapper out of your hair.
Benny stood up, picking garbage off his clothes, and let out a chuckle. “What? Did you think that I was gonna give in just because of your big gesture?”
You turned on him with fiery eyes. “Would you just get it through your thick skull? I like you, okay? I’m not gonna break up with you in a week, I’m not gonna cheat on you, I’m not gonna try to convert you to a jock. Benny I’ve liked you since third grade! I just got enough confidence to tell you and you keep avoiding me every chance you get! If you don’t like me would you just tell me? It would save me a lot of time and money!”
“Not that that would be a problem for you, rich girl!”
“Well, I’m sorry my parents are wealthy! I’m sorry you live with your grandmother and not in a mansion! We’re different but quit painting me as the villain in your pathetic hero story!”
You both were fuming at each other. Erica, Sarah, and Ethan were standing with wide eyes watching this go down.
“Well, maybe if you had just stuck with your real friends we wouldn’t be in this situation!”
“I did! You guys are the ones who treated me like I’d been converted to a cult!”
“Not much different!”
“What is your problem with popular people? You have some sort of nerd code that says you can’t get along with them? Weren’t you the one who was friends with David Stachowski?”
“That’s a different story! He chose us!”
“So did I!”
“No. You didn’t choose us, you chose to have sleepovers with the cheerleaders and go to country club parties and be homecoming queen!”
“I can have more than one group of friends, you know? But do you know who I had hoped would be there for me when I needed it? You guys. Ethan was. You’re the one who keeps running away from me!”
“Well, I’m sorry I think I’m not good enough for you!”
“You’ve always been good enough for me!”
“Well, then I guess I’m saying yes!”
“To what?”
“Everything. All of it. Every date you’ve asked me on, every invitation to a dance, every declaration of love. Yes. I love you. Yes.”
Tears were in your eyes now and you threw yourself into his arms, burying your face into his neck.
Benny hugged you back, as tightly as he could without hurting you.
“You smell like garbage,” you whispered.
He laughed. “So do you.”
Suddenly there was clapping from behind you.
You turned to see Erica slow-clapping. “Well, as much fun and as that rom-com moment was. Can we get out of the dumpster now?”
And you did.
It was safe to say your Leia dress was probably ruined, but you would probably keep it anyway.
Benny held your hand all the way to the car.
You hoped this was the start of something wonderful.

𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐎𝐧 𝐈𝐭 - 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
Summary: You were more than satisfied with your academic career, but there was one aspect of it you absolutely couldn't stand: Chris Beck.
W/C: 1.3k-ish
Warnings: talk of exams, some language, Beck is a bit of a jerk, one Brooklyn Nine-Nine reference.
A/N: hi! Thank you @natlovesu for requesting this piece, I hope you like it! I am not really used to writing for Chris Beck so this was a first! It turned into some sort of college au, but if this is not what you had in mind I'm happy to redo it :)

You loved studying; you loved learning new things every day. You absolutely adored being able to pursue your interests in an academic setting, and luckily, you were also good at it. Not without sacrifices, all-nighters full of coffee, sweat and tears, of course.
But there was only one thing that you couldn’t stand: Chris Beck.
More precisely, his smirk. Right now you wanted to rip it off his annoyingly cute face.
Because of course, as much as you couldn’t stand him when he was all presumptuous about his academic career, you had to have a crush on him, and you had it since the first year of your degree course, two years ago.
You two had been introduced by a mutual friend, Mark Watney, the first week of classes, and you had been in pretty much the same friend group ever since. You’d usually study all together at a diner next to your university, revising between a hamburger and a smoothie.
Chris was reading his notes out loud, editing them and lecturing your group, and you weren’t really listening. You instead were playing with some fries on your plate, while looking at him and fantasizing about ripping that smirk you hated so much off of his annoyingly cute face.
Yes, because, ever since you met him, you had developed a crush on him, and you desperately wanted to forget about it. But he had such charisma to him, it was almost impossible.
“Earth to Y/N, Earth to Y/N!” Watney interrupted your fantasies, dangling a hand in front of you.
“What Mark?” you glared at him.
“Were you listening to me or do i need to explain it again?”
Chris always did this. There was this rivalry between the two of you, about who was better, and you both were brilliant students. But he always got that one mark more than you, and you couldn’t bear it anymore. You had to do something.
“Oh shut up, like you wouldn’t like it. And then bitch about it forever,” you joked. But seriously, you wouldn’t hear the end of it. It had always been like this. There was this rivalry between the two of you, on who was better, and you both were brilliant students, but he always somehow scored that one mark more than you, and you couldn’t bear it anymore. You had to do something.
“Hey, Beck! I have a proposal for you,” you called him, tossing your fry on the plate. “Next week’s exam. Let’s make a bet.”
“I’m listening”, he put his notebook down, curious about what you were saying.
“If I beat you, and I will beat you, you’ll stop making fun of me. No comments, no remarks. Nothing.”
“And what if I win?” he paused a bit, thinking, and then you saw a lightbulb go off in his head. “You and me. One day, together. You can’t complain about anything.” he smirked at you, extending his hand.
And this certainly would not help you forget your crush about him. But if this is what it took to finally get him to stop boasting about him being smarter than you, then you gladly took the risk.
“Let’s shake on it” you said, nodding. You hoped this deal wouldn’t make things worse, but you didn’t have to worry, because you were so going to win it.
****
One week later, you found yourself scouring between the results of your exam. You had studied day and night all week, and you were absolutely sure you were going to pass it with the highest mark. Beck next to you, having your same thoughts.
Your heart was thumping in your ears while looking for your ID number, and then you saw your mark: 99/100. That wasn't bad. You were certain Beck couldn’t have done better. You smiled, proud of yourself. You were so going to win this bet.
“Not too fast, Y/L/N,” Beck caught your attention, and you turned to him. He smirked, pointing to his mark., and you followed his gaze on the paper sheet in front of you.
No.
No. No. No.
He got 100.
“See, I told you. I’m the best human-slash-genius” he pointed at himself, all mighty and proud. Ugh, you hated him.
“Brace yourself, Y/L/N. Twenty-four hours starting from” he paused, looking at his watch, “ now. And I'm gonna make sure to be extra-pretentious.” he winked at you.
Oh, you were so fucked.
********
“So how are we gonna do this?” he asked you. .
“I don’t know. This was your idea. To kidnap me,” you let your bag fall to the ground, while letting yourself plop on the bed.
He brought you back to his dorm room, which he shared with Watney. Unfortunately, Mark had to visit a relative back home, and he would not be back for a couple of days at least.
Leaving you all alone with Mr-Know-It-All over there.
“And what a great idea it was. I’m brilliant!” he put particular emphasis on the last word, observing you to get your reaction.
“Yeah right,” you rolled your eyes “Well, if you excuse me, your highness” you hinted a bow at him, “I need to study” you started taking your notes out of your bag.
“Relax a bit. We still have a month before the next exam.” he sit at his desk in front of you.
“Nope” you popped the p, “I need to get ahead of you because next time, I’m going to make you pay for it. ”
“Oh, come on Y/N/N, let’s go do something fun.”
*******
Turns out, Beck wasn’t that much of an asshole that you thought he was. Yes, he still was a pretentious idiot, but you know he did it on purpose, just to get on your nerves.
In the entire day, you spent together, you actually had fun.
You spent the day at the park, basking in the sun, which was much needed. You didn’t think you’d enjoy this.
Now the both of you were hanging out on a bench. He had even got you an ice cream as a thank you for agreeing to this whole thing with him.
"You could have made these 24 hours a hell for me, but you didn’t. And I really had fun. So thank you”
“Come on, you think that I'm that bad of a person? Man, you really must hate me,” he joked
“I don’t, actually. You just get on my nerves sometimes. Most of the time. But, you know, I don’t hate you.” which was actually true.
“Good, because I don’t hate you, either.” he smiled. You were glad, you were happy to be friends with him, even if sometimes he was a pretentious asshole.
"Actually, that's kinda the whole point," Chris chuckled nervously, playing with his hands. What was going on?
"Uh?"
"Yeah, uhm," He mumbled, turning all red.
"What, the cat got your tongue?" you teased him. You had never seen him this flustered, and you were going to take your sweet time with it.
"Oh please,” he composed himself. “The thing is, Y/N, I- I like you,” he confessed, looking at you.
“What?” you couldn’t believe this was happening, he’d always been picking on you.
“Yeah, I have for a while actually, and I just wanted a chance to show you I’m not that mean, a-and I’m sorry if I seemed-”
“Shut up,” you mumbled, and then you kissed him. It was a soft kiss, you could taste the strawberry ice cream he had on his lips.
“So, I get it you like me too?” he asked, smiling at you.
“Mh, what do you say, genius, it's you that knows everything!” you chuckled.
He laughed, but then kissed you again. His kisses were so sweet and intoxicating, and you mentally bashed yourself for not having confessed before.
Chris pulled away, looking at you in the eyes, the smirk you hated so much appearing again on his face.
"So… you want to bet on the next exam, Y/L/N?" he whispered.
Asshole.

find me in your memory
Tumblr media
member: sangyeon genre: angst word count: 10,200 synopsis: when you return to korea in hopes of recovering your lost memories, one of your new housemates seems oddly familiar. warning(s): inaccurate depiction of amnesia
Prologue:
You had locked yourself in a bathroom stall to run away from everyone’s obvious trying-not-to-stare glances. Your hand clenched around your phone as you stared at the top trending news article. Your father had officially announced his plans to advance his political career and alongside his name were the names of the rest of your family. Your mother, a renown actress. Your brother, a retired swimmer and a rising musician. And you, a rookie model who already walked in various fashion shows.
You were annoyed that your father chose today of all days to release the news. Today was White Day, meaning that boys were throwing you sweets left and right. You hated the extra attention and hated that you had to maintain elegance through it all. It was already bad enough that tonight was some fancy party your father arranged for the purpose of publicity and networking. You would be hiding under a mask all day and night now.
You sighed at the sound of the bell ringing to notify the students that lunch time was over. You dragged yourself out of the bathroom and braced yourself before you returned to your classroom.
People had already whispered about you in the hallways but your classroom erupted into full blown gossip. You heard guys discussing the news and girls expressing their jealousy.
“I guess the princess might actually become a princess now.” one girl said rather loudly. “Look at her. Pretending not to hear all of us. She must think we’re too lowly to even converse with.”
Her friend’s eyes widened at her bold outburst and tried to shush her.
“What? I’m not saying anything that isn’t true.” the girl freed herself from her friend’s grasp and blatantly stood in front of your desk. “Tell me, Y/n, am I wrong?”
You looked up to meet her eyes with a neutral expression. You wanted nothing more than to grab the opportunity to pick a fight with her. But you knew you would face repercussions with your parents so all you could do was force a small smile.
Before the girl could say something more, your homeroom teacher entered the room. Everyone quickly dispersed and found their seats.
“Y/n? Your father’s secretary is here to pick you up. You’ll be leaving school early today.” he said.
The statement prompted more hushed whispers as your classmates speculated the reason why you were being pulled out of class. Without a word, you grabbed your backpack and left. The secretary led you out of the building and into a black car.
You pulled out your phone and earbuds to accompany you for the ride. Closing your eyes, you rested your head on the window and increased the volume of your music. Your brother had sent you the guide for the song he was working on and asked for your opinion. You had grumpily agreed, slightly irked that he only contacted you for things like this.
You hated Younghoon for leaving you alone in this family. He was your father’s pride and joy when he was a national athlete. Granted, he was miserable his whole life pursuing swimming when all he wanted to do was sing. But still, you never expected him to suddenly retire and switch careers without confronting your parents. He simply packed up and left. Without a warning or explanation, he just moved out. By himself. Without you.
Now, all the burden of maintaining the family’s image was on you. You had been pushed into the modeling industry so your father could have a pretty face to marry off later on. However, with Younghoon leaving the sports scene, your father was furious that your entire family were all entertainers without higher aspirations. It was too late for you to learn a sport so now you were to get accepted into Seoul University’s business school. Your father insisted on having at least one socially respectable child.
Your brother spent the last couple of years cutting contact with the family. He refused to attend events or partake in promotional photoshoots. The only time you could ever see him was when he came to take the annual family portrait. That was the only duty he would now fulfill as the eldest son of the Kim family.
You hated him but you also couldn’t despise him. If your affection for him were to turn sour, you’d truly be alone in this world. Yet you were still upset every time your calls went to his voicemail and he replied with a text hours later to apologize. You knew he was busy making up for lost time but it still hurt that he was able to enjoy his freedom while you remained suffocated.
“Miss, we’ve arrived.” the secretary spoke.
You opened your eyes and saw that the car pulled up in front of a beauty salon. You sighed, realizing you would have to get your hair and makeup done. So you went, sitting in front of a mirror for hours as people hovered around you to make you presentable for the reporters that would welcome you with endless camera flashes. By the time they finished, you were given a white silky dress to wear. It was as if your parents wanted to send you off to get married right away.
Keeping your complaints to yourself, you got dressed and were rushed to the party. Your parents were already inside, meaning you had to face the cameras alone. Reporters shouted questions at you; the topics ranged from your outfit to your father’s political plans to your brother’s absence. Ignoring them all, you put on your capitalistic smile and posed. You then bid them goodbye and entered the venue.
It was packed with politicians and businessmen. You walked around, looking for the protagonist of this event. Your father had organized tonight under the guise of celebrating your mother’s upcoming film but the true celebration was the release of today’s news. He was here to garner support for his political campaign and he sure had a flamboyant way of doing it.
“My daughter!” you heard your mother’s voice call out.
You turned around and saw your mother beckoning you over. You put on another smile as you approached your parents. Your father pulled you in for a light hug and introduced you to the man in front of him.
“Y/n, this is Assemblyman Lee. We’ve grown quite close this past year. Assemblyman Lee, this is the daughter I’ve been bragging to you about. She’s even prettier in person, right?” he let out a hearty laugh.
You respectfully bowed and personally introduced yourself to the assemblyman.
“Yes, she is very beautiful indeed.” Assemblyman Lee agreed, joining his laughter. He then presented the tall male next to him. “This is my son, Juyeon. I believe he is the same age as you, Y/n.”
“He plays basketball and even modeled for Seoul Fashion Week.” your father mentioned. “Perhaps you’ve seen or heard of him before?”
“I think we may have passed by each other once or twice that day.” you smiled. To be honest, it was your first time meeting him.
“Assemblyman Lee and I get along like family and we were talking about becoming an actual family once you graduate college.” your father beamed.
Those words made your stomach drop. You knew you’d never get to choose your own partner but now that it was actually happening, you froze. Reality suddenly hit you like a truck. You were never going to have control over anything in your life. You were nothing but a pawn in your father’s journey to the Blue House.
You looked over at Juyeon who looked just as uncomfortable as you. This was the man who you were probably going to spend the rest of your life with and you had no idea what he was like. For all you knew, he could end up hating your guts. You felt panic taking over and excused yourself for an urgent visit to the bathroom.
Your vision was blurred as you quickly exited the ballroom and desperately searched for a private room. All you could think about was your brother.
Younghoon.
Younghoon.
Younghoon.
You needed him. His name was the only thing your brain could think of. You needed him to tell you that everything would be okay. That he would come save you. You knew it would be a lie but you needed to hear it anyway.
Once you found an unlocked storage room, your knees buckled and you fell to the floor. With trembling hands, you dialed your brother’s number and waited for him to pick up. You called him five times but only heard the line ring. Fighting back tears, you cursed him in your head.
You spent the next half hour trying to calm yourself down. Squatting down, you rocked back and forth with your hands covering your ears to block out the noise outside. Your hyperventilation was slowing and you weren’t struck by the fear of dying anymore. By the time you settled down, you felt numb.
With a solemn expression, you stepped out of the storage room. Avoiding the crowd, you wandered around until you found a back exit. Before you opened the door, however, you realized how much you’d stand out in your current attire. You called for the secretary and asked for one of your spare school uniforms. You changed into the blouse and skirt but left out the tie and jacket. Not having sneakers to change into, you kept your heels on.
You insisted that he return to the party and not follow you. You promised you’d be home by evening and shooed him away.
Now that you were finally free, you didn’t know where to go. School was already dismissed but the sun had yet to set. Without any plans, you just started walking. As you kept walking, you found yourself in front of your school.
You laughed in disbelief. Apparently this was the only place other than home that you knew. Finding yourself pathetic, you continued to walk up the path to the building.
The soccer team was still on the field practicing. You sat on a bench, watching them run and kick the ball around. You didn’t know a thing about the sport but found it oddly soothing to mindlessly stare.
After a while, you got tired of it and got up. You let your feet decide where to go next and ended up on the rooftop. The sky was now a golden color. You didn’t remember when you last saw such a view.
At that moment, your phone rang. It was Younghoon finally returning your missed calls. You stared at the screen, debating whether to pick up or not. By his second call, you decided to answer.
“Y/n! Is something wrong? Are you okay?” he asked as soon as you clicked “accept”.
You honestly didn’t know how to reply to his question. Looking back, you wondered if you had ever been “okay” in your life. Was this living or was this just enduring?
“I’m so sorry I missed your calls. I was at the recording studio.” he apologized. “What happened?”
“Nothing.” you lied. “I just missed you. A lot.”
You heard him let out a sigh of relief. Then his guilty voice.
“I miss you too.” he paused. “Listen, I’m extremely sorry for leaving you to deal with Father. I just… I couldn’t handle it anymore. I felt like I was gonna go insane. I could put up with everything but his demand to quit music. That was the last straw. It was the only bit of freedom I ever enjoyed and I couldn’t have that taken away from me as well.”
“But what about my freedom?” you wanted to ask.
“I know I’m a terrible brother. And an even worse son.” he admitted.
Not wanting him to feel sorry, you muttered a soft “whatever”.
“Once I finish recording this song, I promise I’ll do whatever it takes to sneak you out for a sibling date.” he said.
This was the seventh time he made this promise. Either he was always too busy or you could never escape the tight schedule set for you. But like the six other times before, you pretended to believe it.
The call ended soon after and you were left alone in silence. The tranquility on the roof contrasted the storm inside your head. You had spent your entire life striving to achieve your parents’ impossible standards. You were never enough. Never smart enough. Never pretty enough. Never social enough.
Everyone at school saw you as little miss perfect. It brought you both unwanted attention and hatred. People saw you as unapproachable and snobby. Some even expressed their disgust at how fake you seemed. At the same time, there were those who wanted to use you and your connections. There was always someone who wanted something from you.
You felt trapped.
The edge of the roof seemed to call and entice you. As if in a trance, you walked over to the wall and climbed on top of it. You sat on the ledge and took in a deep breath. You stared at the sight in front of you. Most of the soccer team had left school grounds by now. You only heard scattered voices here and there. It was probably the remaining students hollering at each other across the field.
The rest of the world seemed so peaceful. It felt like you were the only one unable to escape chaos. You swung your legs, enjoying the evening breeze. You didn’t want to ever leave this spot.
Your phone vibrated, notifying you of a new message.
“You’ll be meeting Juyeon this weekend. I expect it to go better than tonight.” it read.
Your grip on the device tightened. Without giving you a break, another message from your father arrived.
“Also, your exam scores came out. Your ranking dropped to fourth place. We’ll talk at home.”
You wanted to scream. You wanted to pull your hair out and cry. Instead, you stood up and glared at the phone in your hand. Your hand was now trembling because of how tightly you were holding it.
By now, emotions were beyond you. Feeling pity for yourself was nothing but a waste of time. It didn’t fix things and it surely didn’t make you feel any better. You were just tired of it all.
Allowing yourself one last angry outburst, you threw your phone down. You didn’t watch it fall from the roof and hit the ground. It instantly broke on contact. Unbeknownst to you, the fall startled a male student passing by.
“What the heck?” Sangyeon exclaimed out loud. He had stuck around after school to watch Sunwoo’s soccer practice. They were about to head out for dinner when he remembered that he left his wallet in his locker. He had sent his friend ahead first as he ran back inside to grab it.
He took a closer look at what almost hit his head and was puzzled to see a phone. Looking for the lunatic who nearly killed him, he lifted his head to see where it came from. After his eyes adjusted to the sunlight, he gasped when he saw you standing on the ledge of the rooftop. Getting a bad feeling, he found himself running up the steps. The whole time, “please don’t die” raced through his head.
By the time he made it up to the roof, he was sweaty and out of breath. He wanted to collapse in exhaustion but his eyes widened as you began to inch towards the edge. His body reacted before his mind and he ran to pull you off.
The sudden grip on your wrist spun you around and you fell in what felt like slow motion. You landed on the boy’s chest that was breathing hard. You could hear his heart pump like crazy and his eyes were still closed in fright.
Realizing what just happened, you quickly got off him and dusted yourself off.
“What was that for?” you asked in a hostile tone.
Finally catching his breath, he opened his eyes and jumped up. His eyes almost bulged when he recognized your face.
“Are you crazy?” he yelled, pretending not to know who you were.
“You’re the crazy one butting into other people’s business.” you frowned.
For someone who was about to jump off a building, you looked eerily calm. Sangyeon searched for any signs of distress in your eyes but could only spot annoyance. Still, his gut told him that something was wrong. The empty look on your face scared him.
“Well while we’re in the middle of crazy anyway, why don’t you tell me what pushed you this far?” he bravely inquired. “Bottling everything inside alone will only make things worse. It’s better to just spill everything to a complete stranger you won’t ever see again.”
It was out of character for him to be so nosy but he strangely felt a strong desire to help you. As for you, you normally would have walked away from this situation minutes ago. Yet you still stood in front of this odd boy who demanded to be your impromptu diary.
He intrigued you. He was knocking at the stone wall you put up years ago. He seemed so bright and innocent. It bothered you.
Despite your irritation, something about his eyes made yours water. The way his eyes softened as he looked at you made you feel vulnerable. It seemed as if he could read you like an open book. It brought a wave of emotions you had suppressed for so long.
He stepped closer and offered you a comforting pat on the shoulder. The second his hand made contact, your tears finally escaped and ran down your face. You hadn’t felt the warmth of another human since you last saw your brother. The sudden consolation broke you. Then, like the domino effect, your sobs turned into bawling as your facade crumbled at last.
Sangyeon was shocked to say the least. He never would have thought the Y/n would be crying in his arms. In fact, he never expected to ever cross paths with you. He had only ever heard of you through other students’ gossip. They painted you out to be cold-hearted but the sight in front of him said otherwise.
Hesitantly, he pulled you in for a hug. Recalling how his mom used to comfort him, he tried to soothe you by slowly patting your back. The two of you stayed like that until your cries eventually faded out. Embarrassment belatedly hit you and awkward silence hung in the air. You felt like you owed him an explanation but you couldn’t even pinpoint the exact reason for your actions.
“Thank you.” you muttered softly while sniffling.
Sangyeon smiled in response and rummaged through his pocket to find something. He pulled out a lollipop and handed it to you.
“Even being sad takes energy. You should recharge your blood sugar.” he said as he placed it in your own pocket when you didn’t move to accept it. “Let it all out from time to time. It’s not healthy to always keep negativity inside you.”
You dwelled on his words for a moment. No one had ever told you that before. Everyone was always telling you to tolerate things. You weren’t allowed to disagree with your parents. You had to accept and deal with Younghoon’s departure without expressing how upset you were. You were expected to quietly receive criticism and never retaliate. You figured it was only a matter of time before the pressure eventually set off the bomb inside you. Like today.
Up until now, you thought the only solution for the explosion would be to just end it all. It never occurred to you that you could begin to disobey everything you were taught.
“Thank you.” you repeated. With that, you got up to leave.
“W-Wait!” he called out, causing you to pause. “Where are you going?”
“To eat dinner. You said it takes energy to be sad, right?” you smiled.

Sangyeon didn’t expect to see you again the next day. Cramming last minute for a test, he opted to skip lunch and study at the library instead. After he settled down, he looked up to see across the table. He had to fight the urge to gape.
Feeling someone’s gaze on you, you lifted your head to see the boy in front of you. Recognizing his face, you quickly shut your book closed and got up to leave. He was left flabbergasted at your blatant avoidance of him.
Meanwhile, you were cursing in your head. You chastised yourself for not realizing that he also went to your school. Stupidly, you hadn’t made the connection the day before on the rooftop. Of course he was only there at that hour because he was a student there. Now you were extremely humiliated. And afraid that rumors would spread.
“Hey, wait up!” he called out as he chased after you, earning him a stern glare from the librarian. You didn’t listen and only quickened your pace.
Unfortunately for you, his long legs easily caught up with you. He gently grabbed your wrist to stop you from running away. You scowled when you realized he wouldn’t just ignore you.
“Why are you pretending that you don’t know me?” he asked, crossing his arms.
“I don’t know who you are,” you deadpanned. Your words rendered him speechless and after a few seconds of silence, you turned around to leave.
“Well, my name is Sangyeon,” he persisted, pointing at his name tag.
He spent the next couple of weeks following you around. At first, you found him annoying. He reminded you of your lowest point in life. But slowly, he wormed his way into your heart and established a place for himself there.
He would greet you each morning with a cheeky smile and a carton of banana milk. To be honest, you didn’t even like banana milk. Yet, you found yourself looking forward to it every day.
Eventually, you two formed an unbreakable bond. He was your only friend and all your free time was spent with him. Every time you felt suffocated by your parents, you reached out to Sangyeon for comfort. You never disclosed anything to him but his presence alone cheered you up. He made you focus on him and forget about everything else. You should’ve known that it was inevitable for you to fall for him.
He was that upperclassman that all the younger female students fawned over. You hated to admit it but you were also among the many who thought he was charming. You felt a pang of jealousy whenever you saw other girls swoon over him as he passed by.
Gradually, your personality began to shift into becoming more lively. You were grateful to have him show you the little things in life. You grew to like yourself and the world a little more.

Present:
You stared at the house in front of you. Twelve years ago, you left this house and town to attend school in Seoul. Seven years ago, you left Korea to move to California. Now, you were back as an adult. It felt strange.
Feeling the winter breeze chill your bones, you shuddered at the cold temperature and hurried inside. You were surprised at how neat the place was; you assumed that someone had been sent to save you from the hassle of cleaning.
Trudging up the stairs, you struggled with your large suitcase. You found your old childhood bedroom and roughly unpacked. Having only less than twelve hours until your new housemates moved in, you felt rushed to get the house ready to meet them. You decided to just wash up and sleep tonight and wake up early in the morning to go grocery shopping.
So you slipped into unconsciousness and spent a relatively quiet night. It wasn’t until morning that you were awoken by a dream. It was the same dream that haunted you for the past seven years. Ever since the accident, the same recurring scene appeared to you in your sleep. To be honest, the exact events were fuzzy but it always left you with the same nostalgic and longing feelings. It bothered you how uneasy it made you feel.
You groaned, noting that your alarm clock hadn’t even rung yet. With a loud sigh, you got up and got dressed. With over a decade between your last visit and the present, you relied on the GPS to navigate your way around the unfamiliar neighborhood.
As you walked around the quiet streets, you took the time to enjoy the scenery. You came back to this town to escape the city life but appreciated that it wasn’t entirely in the middle of nowhere.
Luckily, there was a supermarket nearby. There, you picked out a bunch of ingredients you figured would be used often. You didn’t cook much but wanted to change that.
The trip took longer than expected and you picked up your speed to make it back home before your housemates arrived. You let out a breath of relief when you returned and saw that no one was stuck outside waiting. Humming to a song you didn’t remember the title of, your steps were light as you put away the groceries. When you finished, you took a proper look at the house and were displeased at how bare it was. You made a mental note to buy decorations later to fill your new place with signs of human habitation.
At that moment, the bell rang. Suddenly feeling a bit nervous, you ran to the door. When you opened it, you were greeted by four males who seemed surprised at your appearance.
“Hello! Are you the tenants moving in today?” you asked.
“Yes, I believe we spoke with your… brother? On the phone,” one answered.
“It was probably my father’s secretary that you’ve been in contact with,” you said as you opened the door wider to let them inside. “Please, come in.”
They followed you into the house and dragged their luggage behind them. Once they were all inside, you extended your hand towards them.
“My name is Y/n and I will be the one living here with you all,” you introduced.
“My name is Jacob! I hope we get along well,” the one who first spoke grinned as he shook your hand.
You went down the line, greeting and shaking hands with Changmin and Jaehyun. By the time you got to the last person, however, your hand was left hanging. He stared at you with an expression you couldn’t decipher.
“I’m Sangyeon. Lee Sangyeon,” he finally said, taking your hand.
“Nice to meet you, Sangyeon,” you smiled.
You offered them a tour of the house and showed them their respective rooms. While they unpacked, you offered to order food. It was approaching noon and you still hadn’t eaten breakfast. They declined at first but gave in when you insisted on treating them.
By the time the food was delivered, the five of you gathered in the kitchen. You were pouring water for everyone and Jacob began to take out the bowls.
“Jajangmyun is fitting for today, right?” you commented on the Korean tradition of eating Chinese food on moving days.
After everyone was seated, you gestured for them to dig in and began eating. You let out a sigh of happiness at the taste you had missed in the United States. Korean food there just wasn’t the same as Korean food back at home.
“So, Y/n, how did you end up in this town?” Sangyeon asked. Something about his eyes felt intimate yet you still couldn’t pinpoint the reason why.
“I actually just arrived in Korea last night,” you chuckled. “I’ve been living abroad for a while.”
“Abroad? Really?” Jacob perked. “I used to live overseas as well! Toronto, to be exact.”
“I stayed in California for the most part,” you clarified.
“Oh really? California? Los Angeles?” Changmin asked in English. You giggled at his slight accent, finding it cute.
“Yes, I lived in L.A. for 7 years,” you said in English, laughing when Jaehyun’s eyes widened at your pronunciation.
While the four of you chatted, Sangyeon stayed quiet. He watched as Jaehyun asked you about life in America and Changmin told you about the time he visited New York City. He felt a twinge of jealousy when Jacob conversed with you in English.
“It’s definitely Y/n. It has to be. She looks exactly like her and has the same name. But why is she acting like she doesn’t know me? There’s no way she doesn’t remember me,” Sangyeon thought.
Tumblr media
The next morning, you woke up early again due to jet lag. Throwing a robe over your pajamas, you headed downstairs to start making breakfast. You rummaged through the fridge, pondering on what to cook. Lost in your thoughts, you didn’t notice someone else enter the kitchen.
“Good morning,” he said, startling you.
With a slight jump, you turned around to see Sangyeon. Embarrassed, you cleared your throat and exchanged greetings with him. He spotted the gleam of a necklace hidden under your robe and furrowed his brows.
“That’s the necklace I got her. It’s Y/n for sure,” he thought.
Again, you felt his piercing gaze on you. Still unable to understand why he kept staring at you, you awkwardly turned back around. Sangyeon walked towards the kettle to make himself a cup of tea, still conscious of your presence. With that, he went back up to his room, leaving you alone once again.
Eyeing the bag of sliced bread, you decided to just settle for toast. After the simple meal, you went back to your room to get ready. It was the weekend and you planned on shopping for little trinkets to furnish the house with.
When you came back, you found your new cohabitants watching TV in the living room. You politely refused their help with the bags, setting them down on the table. You pulled out a few small photo frames and held them out to show them.
“Aren’t these adorable?” you beamed. “I was thinking of decorating the place with photos. You know, to add some warmth and humanity. Feel free to take a couple and add your own pictures.”
You placed a handful of the frames in front of them, encouraging them to take some. After excusing yourself for a second, you quickly ran up to your room to grab the printed photos on your desk. When you rejoined the group in the living room, you began to insert them into the picture frames.
“Is this from your high school entrance day?” Jaehyun asked, holding a photograph up.
“Yup,” you nodded. “To be honest, though, I don’t really remember much from high school.”
Changmin, finding a photo of you in front of the Hollywood sign, asked if it was taken during your college years.
“Ah, yes that’s when I first began my life in America. I was both anxious and eager to leave Korea behind,” you said, unaware of Sangyeon's wince at your words.
“Oh… Would it be okay for me to ask why?” Jacob asked.
“Of course. It’s all in the past,” you laughed. “I had some bad memories in Seoul and left abruptly at the end of my last year of high school. That was when I moved to L.A. to start anew.”
Sangyeon recalled the day you disappeared. He had texted you, asking to meet at the playground. After finding out about a misunderstanding you had, he wanted to resolve it as soon as possible. He waited there for hours but you never showed. You missed school for a week before your teacher suddenly announced that you would not be returning.
And that was the end of his friendship with you. You left without a warning or farewell. Now, you stood in front of him again. After seven years, he was reunited with you as an adult. He was both excited and confused. When he first saw you at the door, he wanted to blurt your name out and catch up on all the missed time. But when you introduced yourself to him as if it was your first meeting, he found himself doing the same.
At every encounter, you acted as if he was a stranger. At first, he thought you forgot about him and it hurt. But now, he supposed that you just wanted to forget about him. When you mentioned that you had bad memories of Seoul and that you were glad to start fresh in Los Angeles, he realized that he was nothing but a painful past to you.
So he put on a poker face and went along with your little act. For a month, he kept his distance from you and made sure to stay within the strict boundaries of a landlord and a tenant. While his friends grew close to you, he remained reserved.
“Why are you so cold to Y/n?” Changmin once asked him. Sangyeon never answered the question and continued to keep his facade up.
Meanwhile, you were clueless as to why Sangyeon was so standoffish. You had asked his friends, who were a lot more pleasant, if he was normally inhospitable to new people. At their unnatural attempts to change the subject, you figured it was just you that he disliked.
Still, Sangyeon couldn’t hide his innate desire to take care of you in his own ways. Every time your favorite snack ran low in the pantry, he would stack up on it next time he went to the mart. Knowing you hated the cold, he would make sure to keep the house temperature high—even when Jaehyun went to lower it, complaining that he was hot. When you fell asleep on the couch, he would cover you with the blanket you kicked to the floor.

The boy in front of you was extremely close as he reached behind your shoulders to put the necklace on for you. You held your breath and felt your heart race.
“There,” he grinned proudly. “How pretty.”
“Me or the necklace?” you asked, half joking and half serious. He shrugged, prompting you to playfully punch his arm.
“Now you’re forever indebted to me, Y/n. That’s a one of a kind necklace you can’t find anywhere else. Be honored I made it for you,” he declared. You rolled your eyes at his arrogance but still smiled nonetheless.
“Since I gave you this, you can’t ever forget me, okay?” he made you promise.
Your eyes opened, waking you up from your dream. Finding it odd how vivid it was, you frowned and sat up. You wondered if it was a part of your missing memory.
The view outside your window revealed a white wonderland, reminding you that the weather forecast predicted a snowstorm today. You groaned, remembering that today was also the day that you would be alone with Sangyeon. Jacob was on a business trip whereas Changmin and Jaehyun went to their hometowns to visit their parents.
“The snow just has to lock us inside this house today of all days,” you mumbled as you snuggled back into your blanket.
You closed your eyes, wanting to sleep a little more. After half an hour of trying to fall back asleep, you gave up with an exasperated sigh. You changed into a sweatshirt and went downstairs to make yourself some hot chocolate.
To your surprise, Sangyeon was already in the kitchen with a cup of hot chocolate. You both froze, not knowing how to interact without at least one of the other three guys.
“Here, you can have this one. I’ll make myself another one,” he finally spoke, handing you the cup topped with marshmallows.
You muttered a word of thanks as you wrapped your hands around the warm drink. Looking at the window, you saw that the snow was piling up a lot already. In an attempt to break through the walls Sangyeon had built around you, you mustered up the courage to ask if he wanted to watch a movie together. Taken aback, he nodded before he even fully processed your question.
That’s how the two of you ended up on the coach with a randomly chosen film playing on the TV screen. The movie was better than you thought it’d be. The subtle love line brought a comedic relief in such an action-packed plot. You enjoyed it until the main character ended up with amnesia; it made you uncomfortable as it reminded you of your own accident. Noticing that you weren’t focusing on the movie anymore, Sangyeon paused it and asked if you wanted to stop watching.
Not wanting to ruin the mood, you shook your head. He stared at you for a bit before turning it off. Although you were relieved, you felt bad because he seemed to be enjoying the film.
Trying to make up for it, you offered to make lunch. At his reluctance, you insisted since you both had to eat and delivery would take a long time. He followed you into the kitchen, watching as you surfed the internet for recipes.
You managed to keep the conversation flowing as you cooked. You asked about his job and he asked about your experience as a college student in another country. You were happy that he was finally opening up to you. By the end of the meal, you felt comfortable enough to share a little more about yourself.
“To be honest, I was very hesitant about coming back to Korea. When I left seven years ago, I left behind a lot,” you began.
“Yeah, you left me behind,” Sangyeon wanted to say. Instead, he kept his thoughts to himself.
“I mentioned before that I don’t remember much of my high school years. The only memories I have of back then are whatever my parents told me. Which isn’t much. They were always too busy to know what went on in my life,” you stated.
Trying to piece the information together, he carefully asked what you meant by that.
“I got into a car accident seven years ago,” you sheepishly revealed, making his eyes widen. “Apparently I was in a coma for about a week. When I woke up, I was told that I was suffering from amnesia. I was hospitalized for another few weeks to recover and then sent to California to be with my cousin, Eric. There, I went through physical therapy and attended university. I was hoping to leave behind my trauma in Korea.”
“O-Oh, I didn’t know you went through all that,” he stammered, embarrassed.
“I feel like there’s a part of my life that I’m missing and I hate it,” you confessed. “I get these dreams sometimes and I think it might be my missing memories but I’m not too sure.”
The two of you fell into silence. Sangyeon despised himself for not knowing what happened. He had been too busy pitying himself to stop and think from your perspective. He didn’t deserve to have you remember him. He figured it was best that you forgot him. There was no point in disclosing everything now anyway.
After that day, you thought you had gotten closer to Sangyeon. Contrary to your expectations, however, you grew even more distant. At first, you thought you were overthinking. But as the week went on, it became obvious that he was indeed avoiding you.
Eventually, Jacob confronted him about it. He trapped his best friend and demanded an explanation.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Sangyeon lied with a straight face. Sighing, Jacob let it go. He knew that he couldn’t force anything out of him.
Despite Sangyeon’s efforts to keep away from you, he still continued to quietly do little things for you. Luckily for him, you didn’t notice. You didn’t think twice about the pot of coffee that was always prepared every morning or your shoes that were neatly put away after you left them scattered at the entrance.
You didn’t know why you felt so disappointed. You didn’t realize that you had grown attached to him as time passed by. Something about him felt familiar and comfortable. Yet, at the same time, he felt like a challenge. He was aloof but occasionally had moments that showed his soft side. He intrigued you.

“Y/n, you can’t keep associating yourself with that boy. Imagine how shocked we were when we heard those rumors about you two dating! You know your father has plans for you and Juyeon,” your mother chided.
“It’s the 21st century! I am not getting into an arranged marriage. Especially not just for the sake of father’s political ambitions,” you yelled.
A slap was delivered to your face. The sound was loud and you felt your cheek throb in pain. Bewildered, you glared at the woman in front of you. Deeming your action as disrespectful, your mother slapped you once again.
“You don’t even deserve to be called a mother,” you spat.
With that, you stormed out of the house. The boy your mother demanded you to stay away from wasn’t even your boyfriend. You had hoped that he would be one day but that hope dissipated when you saw another girl in his arms earlier that day. Tears blinded your vision as you fumbled for your phone. You called Eric, praying that he would pick up despite the time difference. To your relief, he did and his voice caused you to sob.
“Y/n? Y/n, what’s wrong?” Eric asked, concerned.
You barely managed to tell him what was going on in between your cries. He tried to calm you down but it was futile. You weren’t listening. You were too busy running away. Too busy to notice the car that was speeding towards you.
You woke up gasping for air. Your heart was beating fast as you checked your surroundings. Once you realized that you were in your room and not on the streets, you relaxed.
“Was that just a dream? Or a flashback?” you murmured. You brushed it off, blaming your return to Korea for these weird dreams.
Eric was landing in Korea today and you were thrilled. You missed him greatly and couldn’t wait to see him again. You glanced at the clock to check the time. You had to leave soon to greet him at the airport. Quickly getting dressed, you hummed in excitement.
On your way down, you heard the doorbell ring. You cocked your head, wondering if one of the guys had invited a guest. You shouted out that you’d get the door and ran to open it.
“Surprise!” Eric yelled, holding a bouquet of flowers.
It took you a moment to process the scene in front of you. You blinked a few times before you squealed and jumped into his arms. He laughed, dropping the flowers to hold onto you. The noise brought your housemates downstairs with curiosity. You quickly introduced everyone to each other and pulled your cousin inside once they finished exchanging greetings.
“I thought your plane was landing in an hour!” you exclaimed.
“I told you the wrong time so I could come surprise you instead,” he winked.
You didn’t notice Eric staring Sangyeon down but Sangyeon definitely did. He tried to ignore it, assuming that your cousin just wasn’t happy with the fact that you were living with four males.
You spent the rest of the day catching up with Eric and exploring your neighborhood together. You showed him your favorite cafe and feasted on the waffles there. He filled you in on how his parents—your aunt and uncle—were doing. They drilled him to make sure he told you how much they missed you, making you giggle. As proof of his completed mission, he took a selfie with you to send to them.
“I miss them too,” you pouted. “I better video call them soon. It’s hard trying to match the time zone and their work schedule.”
“Or,” he dragged out the word expectantly. “You could just move back to L.A.”
“Eric, you know why I came back. And what it took for me to do so.”
“I know, I know. But I honestly don’t know how I feel about you trying to retrieve your memory. Maybe some things are better left forgotten?”
“For the past seven years, something in the corner of my brain has been irking me. I know I’m forgetting something important. I feel it.”
He sighed and put his hands up as a sign of defeat.
“Just remember that if you don’t find what you’re looking for or if you aren’t happy with what you find, you can always go back to join me in L.A.” he said softly.
It was a hard secret to keep from you for almost a decade. In exchange for calling off your arranged marriage, your parents made him promise to never tell you about what happened the day of the accident. You moving to Los Angeles was the solution your parents came up with to keep you away from that past.
Seeing Sangyeon at your house gave him a bad feeling. He didn’t know what he told you and was scared that it was only a matter of time before your memories returned after seeing him so often.
Before Eric left for Seoul, he pulled Sangyeon aside to give him a warning.
“I don’t know why you’re lingering around my cousin but I know who you are,” Eric glared. “I obviously don’t know the whole story of what happened back when you two were in high school but I don’t quite like you. If you’re simply here for a place to live, keep it that way. Don’t put anything in Y/n’s head. She doesn’t need to remember what you did to her.”
“What I did to her?” Sangyeon repeated, confused. “But I didn’t- wait, are you talking about-”
“You know what I’m talking about,” Eric interrupted. “You led her on and then hugged another girl right in front of her.”
“The girl she saw me with wasn’t my girlfriend. She suddenly came up to me and confessed. That hug was initiated by her and was one sided. I found out about that misunderstanding and was trying to clear it up the day she disappeared.”
“Does it matter anymore after all these years?” Eric sighed. “Listen, you have no idea what Y/n went through back then and what was sacrificed to let her live the way she wanted to.”
“If there’s something you want to tell me, don’t beat around the bush,” Sangyeon frowned. Eric let out an exasperated sigh, conflicted. He wasn’t sure if it was his place to reveal details to him but he felt that it was necessary.
“That day. Y/n’s parents found out about how you two had a thing. There were rumors going around and it reached their ears. I don’t know if Y/n ever told you but they already had a guy in mind for her. Some stupid politics shit. Obviously, she said that was ridiculous but what power does a teenager have over their parents? She was fighting so hard for you but it was all in vain. You broke her heart.”
Sangyeon’s face crumbled at his words. You had never told him about the struggles you had in your home but he should have caught on from the day he first met you.
“That accident took away her memory. For better or for worse. She forgot all about the guy her parents pushed her towards and she forgot about the pain you caused her. And to be quite frank, I want it to stay that way. She came back to Korea to recover her memories but she deserves peace and happiness. She doesn’t need any more dramatic twists in her life. If you still truly care for her, you would agree,” your cousin said before he left.

A figure stood in front of you. You couldn’t see the face but there was a sense of familiarity. It was the same boy from your previous dreams.
“How could you not remember me, Y/n?” he asked.
You wanted to hold his hand and try to recall who he was. You wanted to hug him and tell him that you didn’t intentionally forget him. But your body would not move according to your will.
You awoke to a pounding head and sore throat. Feeling your nose run, you reached out for a tissue. You moaned in pain, realizing you had a bodyache as well. You couldn’t bear to get up and pulled the blanket closer to your body to keep warm. Closing your eyes, you allowed yourself to fall back asleep.
Downstairs, the guys were eating lunch together. Jaehyun looked at his watch and verbally noted that you still hadn’t woken up.
“Do you think we should wake her up to eat?” Changmin asked, to which Jacob shook his head, saying that they should leave you to rest.
“I wonder if she’s sick? I heard her coughing in the middle of the night when I got up to go to the bathroom,” Jaehyun said.
On the outside, Sangyeon pretended not to care. On the inside, however, he was extremely worried. You always got sick at least twice each winter. After quickly finishing his meal, he grabbed his coat and headed out to the pharmacy. He asked for any and every medicine to help with colds and kept the bag in his pocket when he came back.
He stopped in front of your door with his hand hovering mid-knock. He decided against knocking and left the bag of medicines hanging on your handle.
When evening came around, Jacob went up to your room with a bowl of porridge. Seeing the bag still on the door, he knocked and entered with it.
“So you are sick,” he commented when he saw your disheveled image.
“Jacob, you are an angel,” you gasped at the sight of the food.
“Actually, the medicine isn’t from me. I think that might have been Jaehyun. It was left on your door handle,” he said as he set the tray down on your desk.
You thanked him for the porridge and made a mental note to thank Jaehyun later. Too tired to do anything else, you took the medicine and fell into another deep sleep.
The next day, you felt better enough to get out of bed. Wrapping a blanket around your shoulders, you trudged downstairs. You saw Jaehyun in the kitchen pouring himself a cup of coffee and said good morning.
“Oh! I didn’t get the chance to tell you yesterday but thanks for the medicine,” you smiled.
“Huh? What medicine?” he tilted his head in confusion.
“You weren’t the one who left medicine for me outside my door?” you blinked. He shook his head and you assumed that it had been Changmin.
However, when you asked Changmin about it, he was clueless as well. It left you with only one other possibility and your heart skipped a beat at the thought. Wanting to express your gratitude, you went out and bought ingredients to make him some kimbap. You spent the rest of the morning working hard in the kitchen, persevering through multiple mistakes.
You groaned the third time the kimbap popped while you tried to roll it. You considered giving up for a brief moment but shook your head. With a determined sigh, you pulled out another sheet of dried seaweed and began your fourth attempt.
Finally, you managed to decently succeed. You grinned in triumph at your slightly deformed roll. After cleaning up the mess you made, you looked out the window to see Sangyeon reading in the yard with a beanie on and a scarf wrapped around his neck. Hoping to keep him warm, you poured a cup of hot coffee and walked towards him with the food nicely plated.
“Hey Sangyeon,” you said as you held out the plate. “I made you some kimbap for you to munch on as you read.”
“No thanks,” he said coldly. You blinked, not expecting such an answer.
“O-Oh… do you not like kimbap?” you awkwardly laughed. “Here, have some coffee then.”
“It’s okay. You don’t need to mind me,” he closed his book and stood up to leave. You frowned at his rudeness, ticked off.
“You could at least take the coffee if you don’t want the food,” you said, making him pause. “Or at the very least politely decline considering the effort I put in.”
“I never asked you to put in any effort towards me.”
You scoffed and put the cup and plate down to fold your arms. His harsh words were so different from his kind actions. It constantly felt like he was trying so hard to push you out and you didn’t understand why.
“Then what’s with the medicine you left for me yesterday?” you confronted him. He froze, not knowing how he got caught. He then noticed that you came outside with no outerwear, making him sigh. Trying to avoid an argument, he silently took his scarf off and put it on you before turning around to leave.
“What the hell, Lee Sangyeon?” you blurted. You placed yourself in front of him to stop him from leaving.
“What is with you? Literally one day you’re taking care of me behind my back and the next you’re avoiding me like the plague. Is this your tsundere concept or what?” you huffed.
You waited for him to say something back but he kept his lips pursed. Exasperated, you ripped the scarf off and stormed back inside.
Sangyeon cursed at himself in his mind. He could’ve handled that a lot better. Sighing, he bent down to pick up the scarf thrown on the ground. At a closer glance, he saw your necklace buried in the fabric. He held it up and stared at the jewelry in his palm. With a conflicted expression, his grip tightened around it, enclosing it in his fist.
Tumblr media
You decided that you were over Sangyeon once and for all. You didn’t care how tired he came home looking every night or if was eating properly. You officially gave up on getting closer to him. If he wanted to push you away with his stupid tsundere ways, then that was his problem and not yours.
Grumbling, you climbed into bed to comfort yourself by watching Netflix. You very much rather preferred having your mind occupied with fictional characters than your own issues.
By the time evening rolled around, you grabbed your clothes and headed to the bathroom to shower. Your hands reached up to your neck to take your necklace off but were met with bare skin. Your eyes widened as you looked in the mirror, realizing that the necklace was gone.
You didn’t remember when or where you got it but you always had a feeling that it was important to you. You felt anxious without it.
You rushed to the kitchen to find it. Changmin was staring at you, perplexed, as you crawled across the floor to check every nook and cranny.
“Are you looking for something?” he asked.
“My necklace,” you tensed. “I can’t find it anywhere. Have you seen it here?”
He shook his head as he apologized, saying he hadn’t. Fretting, you checked the living room hoping it was hidden somewhere on the couch. When it still didn’t turn up, you ran outside to check the yard.
At that moment, Jacob and Sangyeon came down and saw Changmin looking out the window. Curious to see what he was watching, they followed his gaze to see you examining the grass.
“What’s Y/n doing?” Jacob asked.
“I think she lost her necklace,” Changmin answered as he took another bite of his apple. “It must be really important to her. She’s been searching for a while now.”
“I hope she finds it soon. It’s cold out at night,” Jacob said with a concerned look on his face.
Sangyeon stiffened, feeling the necklace in his pocket. He brushed it off, thinking you would give up soon. After pouring himself a cup of tea, he returned to his room. The sky rumbled, warning of incoming rain.
“I’m sure she’ll come back in now,” he mumbled.
Half an hour passed as Sangyeon continued reading his book. It was now pouring outside and the raindrops tapped violently against the windows. He reached out for his tea, only to notice be met with an empty cup. He placed the book down and went to the kitchen for a refill.
He was shocked to see you still in the yard, crouched down with a flashlight. Anger bubbled up inside him and he found himself grabbing an umbrella and joining you outside. Holding your wrist, he lifted you up to face him. The rain ceaselessly attacked the umbrella over your heads and his heart broke at the sight of you. You were drenched and your hair stuck to the sides of your face.
“Let go of me. I need to find something,” you freed yourself from his grasp and went back to shifting through the grass.
“It’s late and it’s raining. You can look for it later,” he said as he pulled you back up.
“No, I have to find it now,” you insisted.
“Y/n, you’re sick!” he exploded. “What’s more important than your health right now?”
“My necklace!” you yelled back. “I can’t remember who gave it to me but I know it was a gift. I can’t lose it. I just know that it’s from someone important. It’s the missing memory I came back to Korea to find!”
His chest clenched as your tears blended in with the rain. He never thought that the necklace would mean so much to you. Hesitantly, he pulled it out from his pocket and handed it to you.
“I’m the one who gave it to you, Y/n,” he sighed, closing his eyes. “Seven years ago, I was the one who made this necklace and gave it to you. This isn’t what I meant when I said that you were indebted to me.”
Puzzled, you stared at the chain hanging from your clasp. You were beyond confused. If you had known Sangyeon, why did he never act like it? Then, the pieces started to come together and his behavior started to make sense. Those eyes that seemed to recognize you from day one. The endless supply of the snacks you never expressed your love for in front of the guys. The dreams that you suddenly understood now.
“You knew who I was the entire time… and you didn’t say anything?” your voice cracked. “You knew I was out here looking for the necklace that you had and you still didn’t say anything?”
“I-”
“Forget it,” you cut him off. You shoved the umbrella away from you and slowly walked towards the house.
“Now you’re forever indebted to me, Y/n. That’s a one of a kind necklace you can’t find anywhere else. Be honored I made it for you.”
You winced at the sudden flashback.
“Y/n, you can’t keep associating yourself with that boy.”
You shook your head as if the memories would shake out of your mind.
“You don’t even deserve to be called a mother.”
You stumbled, causing you to flinch. Sangyeon ran to hold onto you and caught you just in time before your knees went weak. You felt your lungs tighten as the world spun around you and his voice became muffled. Then, everything went black.
Tumblr media
“We gave her a fever reducer so her temperature should be coming down soon,” the doctor said as he looked through your patient chart. “She can be discharged once she wakes up and finishes the IV treatment. As long as she rests well at home, she’ll be okay.”
Sangyeon profusely thanked the doctor before he felt to continue his rounds. Sitting down next to you, he sighed. This wasn’t what he intended at all. All he ever wanted was for you to be happy. Back then and even now, his priority had always been you. Even if it meant giving up his own desires. Even if it meant giving you up.
It was taking longer than expected for you to awaken. Sangyeon began to worry but the nurses assured him that there was no problem. He restlessly paced around your bed, praying that you were okay.
When you finally came to, it took you a moment to register your surroundings. In what felt like a long sleep, all of your lost memories came flooding back. Still overwhelmed by the sudden anamnesis, you grasped for the only thing that brought you a sense of familiarity and comfort—Sangyeon’s hand.
“Don’t leave me,” you croaked.
“I won’t. I promise I won’t let you go again,” he whispered, holding your hand tighter.
