Some random thoughts about United SMP

It's weird. The timing, the fact that he called it "the first multi-language server"… but at the same time is a great opportunity for a bunch of creators. I'm glad that more and more communities are getting the spotlight, but still, it just rubs me on the wrong way. Sspecially since the qsmp has been running for less than 2 weeks!

And I guess as a bilingual person, for me there's a lack of … well that: being bilingual (Or multilingual). Having a translator would make everyone speak the same language and it would not require a deeper connection with the other memebers. The fact that Quackiy, a bilingual person, is the creator of the qsmp has a meaning. Not only from a linguistically point of view, but also culturally speaking... And also, what I enjoy the most about his server is that there is more than one bilingual person in it, and the rest make an effort to communicate. That's the beauty of it. The struggle, the laughs, and the satisfaction of making a connection with someone else who dosent speak the same language as you. I feel like the use of a live translator would just eliminates that "learning" factor.

Well this is my first post and really just want to scream about what happen today. First of all i'm aroace and just hours ago was talking about this with a couple of peoples and PLEASE, if someone tells you that is in the aro spectrum and you don’t know what that means. Don’t try to make them feel like they could have someone if they open their mind. I can understand that you don't get it but don’t push it, if i feel little or none atraction is not because i close the "door" to people who want to aproch me is just that i don’t feel like that or even i don’t want that. I'm happy just how i am now. If you want to know how it feel for me ask, and i'll be happy to tell you, but don’t make it like is my fault because i close every opportunity or don’t want to give an opportunity to someone.

I’ve thought about it, however Night 1 of Wrestlemania goes between Seth and Cody v Roman and Rock, Cody can’t win that belt. Without “The Story”, Cody’s going to get boring quick, fans already turn on a title reign fast enough, just look at Seth and his belt with people saying it’s getting stale. Cody needs to have the story of getting that belt go on for longer, maybe not another year, but at least until Summerslam. It doesn’t have to be him v Roman then though, let the Tribal Chief rest, he’s earned it ☝🏼

Night 2 of Wrestlemania, Roman and Cody wreck eachother, like close call who’ll win, both basically down and out. Cody wins (I don’t want the Tribal Chief to lose but let’s imagine he does), he’s happy, good for him. Then Priests music drops, Judgement Day keep at bay anyone Cody has with him, Priest steals the title. Cody gets to go on with “The Story”, he’s allowed to fight for the belt again (because it was only if he lost to Roman that he wouldn’t be able to have another chance at the title), the Money in the Bank finally is cashed in. Priest teased going after Seth’s title too many times now and didn’t/couldn’t, so he’s either going to go for that on Wrestlemania or shoot for the big guns and go all out and snatch the Undisputed title, go big or go home. Then we can have 6 months of the title being up for grabs, either Priest holds onto it, or there’s some title changes in between, but Cody gets his chance again at Summerslam.

This could set up some other stories too:

• jealousy amongst the JD and Finn maybe going for the title (it’s inevitable they’re going to either break completely or someone’s leaving, probably either Finn or Priest). Becky said something in an interview about Finn and JD having some loyalty to her aswell as Rhea, so they’re match at WM could also play into the JD split storyline.

• Seth turning on Cody and going for the title he lost out on, finally giving the match between Priest and Seth, because Seth is more then likely losing at WM

• Cody isn’t the only person with a story and want for the Undisputed title. Roman’s decimated everyone for years, they all could try and go again for the title in between WM and SS. The title could get passed around a little, give it Randy, Sami, even Jey. Let it get built back up as something to fight for

However it goes, I think Cody winning and taking the title would get boring real quick. Let the title become something fought over again

And at the end of Night 2, Roman needs a standing ovation and universal acknowledgment for the last few years. Say what you will about him being part time or using the Bloodline for help, there’s no denying he put in a great f***ing show, he was Final Boss, the Tribal Chief and did his job soooo well. Acknowledge the Tribal Chief ☝🏼☝🏼

Just to add on at the end, just in case anyone gets butthurt over opinions, these storylines are planned out ages in advance. What we as fans want or think should happen doesn’t really change the narrative unless completely necessary, so there’s no need for anything other then lighthearted discussion about where we individually think the story should or could go.

What is it about Grace that you hate?

No hate, she’s just not my favorite.

I think it started with me being really disappointed with how her character was fleshed-out (or lack-there-of) by the end of the first season, and then it just never felt like it got better through two and three. I remember thinking it was such a cool twist in the pilot when we found out she was a spy. Not only to see a female in law enforcement during that time, but to be trained in undercover work and having had a father who obviously had some kind of traumatic death that left her seeking vengeance — like, recipe for something really awesome, right? Especially pairing that with gangster boss, morally-gray Tommy. Spy who falls for her mission, I’m there for it!

But what we got… it just felt so boring and underwhelming, or even embarrassing at times (thinking about how in one breath she chastised Campbell for underestimating her and then in the next shot a man who had nothing to do with her mission in broad daylight).

I get that her character was ultimately supposed to represent the softness that Tommy longed to protect, or the posh-ness/legitimacy that he wanted to reach, or whatever. But it just felt like a lot of pining or “wanting what they couldn’t have” without any actual substance for them to fall in love to. And then the fact that she’d been a spy and ultimately lying about herself the entire time and we never really got to see them unpack that.

Idk. It felt like they were trying to make her fit these two roles that they needed to propel Tommy’s character on (the innocent flower and the heart-breaking betrayer), but after it was all mixed together it just didn’t work for me.

And that’s just season one! I hate when there’s a cheating plot for absolutely no reason. She didn’t need to be married! I get that it was the 20s and blah blah. But ugh. Just to then have the “sweet and kind” husband kill himself just so she can birth Tommy’s baby and marry him. And then the bulk of their actual relationship happens off screen, cut to them trying to have us sympathize with her because she was doing all this charity work and Tommy finally had the picture perfect life, just in time for her to get shot and forever be this idealized martyr in his heart and just again be another catalyst to Tommy’s character development and guilt.

She just never felt like a genuine, thought-out character — I never cared about her the same way I cared about the others. Again, there’s no hate, just apathy.

I did like her ghost scenes in the later seasons.

Actually offense. The Percy Jackson Tv show had no suspense. Everything was stated out right we never got to wonder or be suspicious/surprised because everything was stated. Some Examples Medusa, The fates, Furies, EVEN CRUSTY FOR GODS SAKES. There was no build up, even the Summer solstice failed. It was supposed to be a DEADLINE but they went passed it and brushed that off in one convo with Zeus. Hades complete mood switch???? Why was Athena so petty?? Like yes Athena is most likely petty but she wouldn’t take a risk like that its, NOT smart.

Dont get me started on the last episode Traitor reveal. NO SUSPENSE No dramatic drop just. “Your the lightning thief..” LIKE BRO WHAT WHERES MY 60 SECONDS.

Im sorry to say this but I wasn’t content or happy with the tv show. Even the Cgi was weird and the fighting was terrible. The sparing they did with Luke and Percy was the best fight scene in that while show… and that is just sad. Even the fight with ARES was underwhelming. Im hoping they’ll take this criticism and really change that for season two I want dramatic drops, build up, TIME TO BREATH. MAYBE EVEN A LONG FIGHT? They drop so much lore and so fast you don’t have time to digest.

Im pissed about the May lore drop WE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT HER UNTIL BOOK 5. ANNABETH WASN’T EVEN ALLOWED INSIDE (or it was just the kitchen I believe) BUT STILL. Annabeth was almost as clueless as Percy if I remember correctly. Even if she wasnt she doesn’t have the right to spill that secret of Lukes like girl what?? Luke shouldn’t have told about Thalia but still at least she was his friend as well but his trauma about his mom was not yours to share also guilt tripping Hermes??

May’s fate wasn’t even really Hermes fault. He tried to talk her out of it and it was Hades who cursed the oracle in the first place. Im just so upset about all the secrets that were revealed early.

The acting didn’t have much emotion or I felt they portrayed it wrong. For instance Percy reacted to almost everything with the same face. The show was way to dry for my liking. Percy jackson is supposed to be funny. Sally kind of seemed like a mean mom iykwim. I mean she just had no patience for Percy at all and it constantly felt like she was guilt tripping him… no just me??? I get that shes a struggling and single parent but Whattt???? She’s supposed to be supportive, kind and loving. If I met that sally I wouldn’t expect her to sit me down in her kitchen offering us a blanket and cookies.

THEY DID GABE FOWL. They did him so poorly that man did not deserve to die sure he was a dead beat but seriously?? Tartarus would not smell like him. They should have just let him get divorced it would have made sense but turning him to stone?? For what being a lazy, grouchy stepdad??

Gabe in the book was abusive manipulated just a straight up Piece of sewer gunk. He HIT them he abused them and manipulated them into staying quiet. The entire scene with the cops and everything. The guy in the show tho?? He looks like he’d fall over from the raise of a hand bro wouldn’t even be able to throw a punch. He doesn’t even have a job?? He looks like the worst he would do is yell and make fun of you because he’s probably projecting because he’s completely useless but deserving death?? He was more of a nuisance he didn’t deserve to die being divorced and alone forever I can’t understand but seriously??

Also the Percabeth slow burn… they’re pushing it they were just friends in the first book maybe in the second we start getting into it. But seriously the first season? She just started opening up to him in the first book. WE DIDN’T EVEN GET THEIR TALK LIKE UGH WHAT I wanted the Annabeth backstory about her dad but they didn’t have the convo about her going home for the summer we didn’t get into it. They’re overcooking my 5 book long slow burn.

They stuffed to much into too short of episodes that we didn’t get time to breath or get to know our characters. It was just a one minute battles here and there, a few conversations about impending doom and Percy being sad about his mom like. I know I’m being Petty but they should have split most of those episodes into two so we had more time to learn about our characters or digest the info dumps. The first episodes had me reeling I swear my head was swirling. The characters themselves didn’t have time to breath “Oh your claimed by poseidon now you have to go on a deadly quest to find the master bolt everyone thinks you stole but we think hades stole it also he probably has your mom.” Why are they shoving everything in our face. Percy in the books had 3 DAYS to come to terms with his parentage but show percy had like a day AT MOST.

I don’t know, they just could have done so well but they didn’t. I swear Mikey mouse must have tied Rick to a chair no way he said yeah this is amazing or a good script decision. THERE WERE SO MANY PLOT HOLES or decisions that didn’t make any sense.
