A lot of people PREACH about diversifying your feed and “opening your mind” by following/tuning into POC, LGBT+, or female creators, yet DO NOT diversify their own feed by following/tuning into people with different opinions [i.e., Blaire White (trans woman), Jordan Peterson, Abby Shapiro (Jewish woman), Matt Walsh (father of 4-5 kids), etc].
WHICH, by doing so, you will open your mind further since you get to hear opinions or ideas that you, or anybody similar to you, probably won’t ever come up with. Sticking to what is comfortable, or what you know, is not diversity. Step out of your comfort zone. Practice what you preach and be inclusive of all people, maybe you’ll actually learn something.
I know I did. My eyes are more open than I ever thought they were thanks to tuning into content other than what is created solely by one community.
You’ll never grow as a person, or step closer to finding middle ground with others who think differently than you, if you never take the time to hear them out. Some people desperately want their opinions and “truths” to be heard and accepted, but isn’t that how everyone feels? Listen to people and you will be listened to.
If you keep pushing people away who have differing opinions/views, then you are part of the problem.
We are more alike than different.
It all starts with healthy discussions, focusing on middle ground, sticking to what is real, listening to concerns, finding where you agree, and going from there.

But no; that’s not the way it is! To do evil a human being must first of all believe that what he’s doing is good, or else that it’s a well-considered act in conformity with natural law.
|
Fortunately, it is in the nature of the human being to seek a justification for his actions.
|
Macbeth’s self-justifications were feeble—and his conscience devoured him. Yes, even Iago was a little lamb too. The imagination and the spiritual strength of Shakespeare’s evildoers stopped short at a dozen corpses. Because they had no ideology.
|
Ideology—that is what gives evildoing its long-sought justification and gives the evildoer the necessary steadfastness and determination.
|
That is the social theory which helps to make his acts seem good instead of bad in his own and others’ eyes, so that he won’t hear reproaches and curses but will receive praise and honors.
|
That was how the agents of the Inquisition fortified their wills: by invoking Christianity; the conquerors of foreign lands, by extolling the grandeur of their Motherland; the colonizers, by civilization; the Nazis, by race; and the Jacobins (early and late), by equality, brotherhood, and the happiness of future generations.
|
Thanks to ideology, the twentieth century was fated to experience evildoing on a scale calculated in the millions. This cannot be denied, nor passed over, nor suppressed.
|
How, then, do we dare insist that evildoers do not exist? And who was it that destroyed these millions?
|
Without evildoers there would have been no Archipelago.

Gosh it's really such a heart-sinking feeling when someone you love starts to fall deeper and deeper into conservative ideology, anti-trans, anti-lgbtq Ben Shapiro/Matt Walsh/Jordan Peterson vibes coupled with the Elon Musk and shitty capitalist neoliberal sentiments.
Someone you love and have grown up with and want in your life because they're immediate family or a dear friend and basically all their beliefs and values are opposite to yours (in my case i am a non-binary, asexual lesbian leftist atheist). I value people having the freedom to be themselves, as long as they aren't hurting anyone. And to have someone who i genuinely love and care about have such hateful beliefs is really difficult to reconcile with my values and who i want in my life. Cause in my case, it's my older brother. He's gonna have a kid. I am gonna be an aunt. And i'm so scared that that kid is going to be absorbing such insidiously hateful crap or is queer themselves and gets taught to hate themselves from an early age like i did, being raised by "well-meaning" bigots.
I dunno, just a ramble. And i know this might be a bit of a displacement of emotion and it's not all their fault or anything but right now idgaf, they've contributed: fuck Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh and Jordan Peterson for spreading their crap around, and doing this to my family. We're not even American or living in the West and we're getting their shitty fucking brainvomits. I'm so upset about this actually lol.

The Uses of History, 12 – Christmas, 1
The feast of Christmas as we generally know and observe it now in the West is a strange amalgam. Since the mid-1960s, in the name of inclusiveness and sensitivity, reinforced in the 1970s and 1980s by persistent lobbying and even legal action to remove the overtly Christian symbols and narrative around the feast from public view and even public discourse, a vaguely…

So I was joking around on this post about the lack of alignment in Baldur's gate when a shiver ran down my spine. My badtake senses were tingling, and lo and behold there was this waiting for me in my notifications:
Now this is fascinating because this user obviously has an axe to grind: We were specifically talking about a notoriously clunky and contentious ruleset in d&d that no one really likes, not even the current developers, and this person decided to go off like I was the architect of the modern godless age.
Checking their blog shows we're dealing with someone with some baggage, as what appears to at first be your bog-standard cocktail of conservative cottage-core and LOTR memes gives way to Jordan Peterson clips, antichoice rhetoric, and more than a few posts that veer into Q-Anon nonsense.
What leaks through most however (especially if you're like me and spend a lot of time examining the whys of ideological brainrot) is that despite how much this person wants a peaceful life in the country what they REALLY want is to die for a righteous cause: Their blog name is a biblical reference to mass death and the punishment of the wicked, they're WEIRDLY invested in the final charge of the Rohirrim, and simmering below the pretty pictures of forests and mountains and animals and guns is the sense that the world is an evil place and the only thing that's going to fix it is a cleansing wave of violence.
Normally I wouldn't go so in depth like this but I thought since we were talking about morality systems and where they might lead us it'd be a good idea to get a read on where this criticism is coming from.
Now onto my rebuttal: My desire to see the alignment chart left behind along with other clunky rpg systems like Thac0 has no bearing on my real life stance on morality. You shouldn't NEED a fantasy rolplaying game to tell you that you're objectively good in order to soothe your IRL moral anxieties and you going off like this when I suggested changing something tells me that this is a bit of a safety blanket for you.
The fact that you can't tell the difference between a story with no moral compass and one that allows for diverse opinions on what could be considered "moral" tells me that you're terrified of doing the wrong thing and that makes you easily exploited by people who cloak themselves in righteous authority and call you a good boy for wasting your life in their service. I was like that too once but let me tell you it's far better to question who decides what rightness is than to follow it blindly.
Lastly, on the topic of morality codes in rpgs, I'm not against characters or the stories they're in having morals, I just think it's silly for there to be only nine codified (though extremely contradictory) options for how those morals can be expressed. Why hold onto a system that's too flawed to be useful ?

Parental Trauma in a World of Gender Insanity | Miriam Grossman MD | EP 347
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Miriam Grossman discuss the grief and trauma associated with the Transgender movement, not just for those transitioning, but for the parents and families who now find themselves shunned and alienated if they refuse to affirm their own child's delusion. They also go into detail on the history of the ideology, the monstrosity of Dr. John Money, and his horrendous failed experiment on which he built his doctrines.
Miriam Grossman MD is a physician, author, and public speaker. Before gender ideology was on anyone’s radar, she warned parents about its dangers in her 2009 book, “You’re Teaching My Child WHAT?” Dr. Grossman has been vocal for many years about the capture of her profession by ideologues, leading to dangerous and experimental treatments on children and betrayal of parents. Dr. Grossman was featured in the Daily Wire’s hit documentary “What Is A Woman?” The author of four books, her work has been translated into eleven languages. After graduating with honors from Bryn Mawr College, Dr. Grossman attended New York University Medical School. She completed an internship in pediatrics at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, and a residency in psychiatry through Cornell University Medical College, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Grossman is board certified in psychiatry and in the sub-specialty of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Tucker Carlson's interview with misogynist, human trafficker and rapist Andrew Tate has been endorsed by Elon Musk, the man who brought Tate among many other reactionary and far-right commentators back to Twitter when he purchased the platform.
There is nothing spontaneous about Musk doing this, and if you're surprised then you're a fool. This has never been about upholding free speech - hence why you've never seen any of these men promote interesting left-wing thinkers.
The ‘SJW’/‘woke’/progressive Left, as unbearably annoying as so many of them are, just keep getting proven right.
They said Nick Fuentes and Kanye were Holocaust-denying anti-semites.
They said Jordan Peterson supported rapists, and didn't believe women should have legal equality.
They said Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh would use the gender critical movement to blame gay people and women for any and all degeneracies.
They said Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk's recent ‘free speech’ moves were about repositioning themselves so that they could more effectively elevate the voices of overt extremists.
Again and again, their accusations are ageing like fine wine. The reactionary right’s mask is well and fully off.
Andrew Tate, Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, Joe Rogan, Konstantin Kissin, Paul Joseph Watson, Ian Miles Cheong, Andy Ngo, Michael Malice, Elijah Schaffer, Zuby, Milo Yionnopoulous, Tommy Robinson, Nick Fuentes, Kanye West, Donald Trump… obviously some of these men could dislike each other, I can't imagine Shapiro and Fuentes at the same house party.
But their ideal societies don't look too different. None of these mens’ do. Because any racial, religious or ethnic prejudices they have against each other will come second to their common-ground.
The organised reaction against this brand of progressivism that has rapidly come to monopolise every sector of public life in the last 10 years, is well and truly underway. Musk, Carlson and Tate have given us the sign. And while I pretty heavily dislike the current ‘woke’ progressive ideology (and have a lot of questions about its top-down cultural spread), I'm scared of these guys way more. And if you're anything but a straight man who doesn’t care about any demographic besides straight men, you should be too.
The reason I say ‘straight men’ and not ‘straight white men’ is because, come on, the reactionary right is more racially diverse than most left-wing groups at this point. 😂😂 White nationalists the world over have bent the knee to a mixed-race man who admitted moving to an Eastern European country because of their more lax laws on sexual assault, and in turn, the ease he would have in exploiting the local women in the country’s already active sex-trafficking trade.
White nationalists (whose role in the reactionary right cannot be discarded any more, after Trump and Kanye had a personal dinner with Nick Fuentes) feel more of an affiliation with a non-white, human trafficking violent rapist, despite evidence of his crimes having been public for a while now, than they do with his WHITE victims.
Jordan Peterson, whose daughter has revolved her entire public image around him, who works with and for him, and whose lingerie photographs were retweeted by him, made a dogwhistle in May about women having their right to vote retracted.
Examples of men devaluing the contributions and rights of the women in their families, communities and wider societies are withstanding the test of time, over and over again, because no matter where in the world they are, and no matter what tensions the different religions, cultures, ethnicities and races of men have with each other, there are traits that unite them all. Misogyny is the most obvious one.
The men of these diverse, far-reaching societies, in many ways feel far more of a kinship to each other, than they do to any woman, girl, gay person, disabled person, mother, child, or any other demographic.
The pendulum always swings back, and now that we know these men have got the owner of the world's biggest social media platform on their side, that is a major sign it could be coming soon. Be on guard and look after each other gyns ❤️

Hi!, as a film student when I first found your content I was always curious on if you had watched 'The pervert's guide to ideology' by Slavoj Zizek, I know he's quite controversial, but i was always curious about your view because of your ties with philosophy and media creatio.
I have! Magnus Fiennes, who did the soundtrack to it, very kindly let me use some of his music for my video Jordan Peterson's Ideology

in summer of 2022 when i had nothing to do but sit around and work remotely i watched probably like 100 hours of jordan peterson and ben shapiro videos to learn about the arguments compared to my own beliefs and i was never “accidentally radicalized” by doing that...its not an accident no one is forcing you to believe in right wing ideology from watching a video...you are just weak minded and stupid...

Response To Post On Gender Ideology and Free Speech.
lily-on-the-fence
"You state that trans acceptance is an extreme point of view because it requires you to believe certain things about people or else you disrespect them. I'd argue it's more extreme to prevent someone from accessing healthcare because you personally don't agree that it's necessary, despite all the relevant scientific fields disagreeing with you."
Philosophicalconservatism
I am more interested in what the science says and what it doesn't say than I am in what opinions are popular amongst those who practice it.
Dr Jack Drescher one of the scientists responsible for the official decision by the DSM to no longer classify Gender Dysphoria as a disorder (and to rename it) stated outright that this call was more about a shift in cultural values than any groundbreaking new scientific insight.
"All psychiatric diagnoses occur within a cultural context. We know there is a whole community of people out there who are not seeking medical attention [to realign their thinking with their gender of birth ] and live between the two binary categories. We wanted to send the message that the therapist's job isn't to pathologize."
So the game is that the culture appeals to the science, while the scientists appeals to changes in the culture. It would be quite remarkable for science to go from still classifying Gender Dysphoria as a disorder in 2012 to having prescriptive knowledge about it within three or four years that is so absolutely certain it is unquestionable (the scandal with Jordan Peterson was just three years later in 2016 for example). And this is in psychology of all fields, a field with a notorious replicability and reproducibility problem; one of the softest of sciences.
Exactly how certain must we be in this discussion? There is a difference between identifying the latest credible scientific hypotheses, and having knowledge that is so certain that you are willing to irreversibly alter the life of a child over it. Knowledge of the latter type should be of the utmost certainty. But this is why advocates of Gender Ideology do proceed as though the use of hormones and surgery to "transition" individuals is science that is as firmly established as William Harvey's theory of the circulation of blood (It must not be questioned!). Yet almost any particular element of this treatment (much less the entire composite) is highly questionable. Human beings are still accumulating knowledge about the long term effects of consuming red meat, but we have the utmost confidence in our knowledge of the the long-term effects of the chemical and biochemical agents used in these treatments?
Higher risk of blood clots, heart attack, strokes, diabetes, and many other conditions have been connected to gender hormone replacement therapy. This is according to mainstream sources; I strongly encourage the readers to look it up. Can a minor child (whose brain is not even fully developed) make a decision with those kinds of ramifications? To be clear, Conservatives fully support the right of every adult to seek out such treatments, and this Conservative would certainly fight against any attempt to curtail that right. But that right has been in place for decades. Today we are talking about something quite different. We are talking about the violation of children. For children are violated anytime the adults around them attempt to make the kind of decisions for them which they can only make themselves as adults.
