Out on the Town

Title: Out on the Town Chapter: One-Shot Pairing: OC/OC Rating: T Fic Summary: Lily Barakat plans a night on the town with Kenadee Lucker and Copeland Quinn. Author’s Notes: I have no clue where this came from, but I wrote it pretty quickly.

Lily Barakat bustled around her room getting ready. She grabbed all that she would need for the night and stuff it in a bag. Her phone went off and a text message sat on her screen.

Ready? – Ken

Lily smiled and typed out a response, “Just gotta go make an excuse to the old man. ;P”. Lily ran down the stairs and grabbed her keys.

“Wait, where are you going?” her father asked her.

“Oh, Ken invited me and Copeland over for a girl’s night, since summer is ending soon. Aunt Jolie will be gone for the weekend and Kenadee doesn’t want to be home alone”.

“Very well. I guess I’ll see you on Sunday then”.

Lily hugged her father and said, “Thank you daddy”. She kissed his cheek and made her way out to her car. She drove over to Kenadee’s house.

Copeland was already there getting ready.

“That was almost too easy”, Lily said as she changed out of her Blink 182 shirt and into a short party dress. “

You’d think he’d be able to tell when you’re lying”, Copeland said.

“Oh, like our parents didn’t party when they were our age”, Kenadee said.

“Maybe we should call the terror twins”, Lily said.

Garrett Bruce and Cullen Worsnop were about as bad as their father’s when it came to partying and every time it ended in one of them getting arrested.

“That could prove to be interesting”, Copeland said smirking.

“Why not make it a band baby party?” Lily said.

Kenadee and Copeland got out their phones and started texting people.

They all agreed to meet at a club downtown that was vacant for the night. By the time they arrived, the place was packed.

“Don’t look, but Connor Carlile is staring at you”, Kenadee whispered to Lily.

Lily looked out of the corner of her eye and sure enough, he was staring at her.

“Just wait. He’ll be over here”, Fae Bruce told her.

She patiently waited for him to approach her.

“Hey Fae, Lily”, Connor said.

“Hey CC”, Fae said.

“Can I get you ladies a drink?”

“I’m good”, Fae said, holding up her drink.

“How about you, gorgeous?” Connor asked Lily.

“Sure”.

He wrapped an arm around her waist and led her to the bar.

The next thing Lily knew, she was waking up in a jail cell. She looked around and saw Kenadee, Fae, Connor, Cullen, and Garrett. She stumbled to her feet and grabbed her pounding head. “What the fuck happened last night?” she mumbled.

“You and Fae decided to dance on the bar. Connor got in between you two and you guys were practically having a threesome on the dance floor. Garrett saw and flipped out. He started punching Connor, then Cullen got in the middle trying to stop it. You basically got us kicked out last night”, Kenadee explained.

“I’m sorry Ken”, Lily said, “How’s Copeland?”

“At home. Her father was the first parent to show up, because Copeland called him crying and he told everyone”, Kenadee said.

“Kellin’s going to kill me the next time he sees me”, Lily said.

Danny and Ben were the next parents to show up.

Fae ran into her father’s arms crying and apologizing, while Danny glared at the boys.

It was a couple more hours before Austin and Alan showed up to take Connor and Kenadee home.

“Do you have any idea how worried sick your mother was?” Austin snapped at Kenadee. His eyes zeroed in on Lily. “You’ll be lucky if Jolie ever lets Kenadee hang around you again, Barakat”, Austin said, grabbing Kenadee by the arm and leading her out.

Connor approached Lily. “Your dad should be here soon”, he said, “I guess I’ll see you later”.

“Yeah, if my dad ever lets me out of the house again”, she said.

Connor leaned forward and pressed his lips to Lily’s.

“Connor, let’s go”, Alan said.

“Go, I’ll be fine”, she told him.

Connor kissed her one more time and then left with his uncle.

Finally, Lily’s father showed up but he wasn’t alone. Lily groaned when she saw he had brought her Uncle Alex. “Hey Lex”, she said smiling at him, but he wouldn’t smile back at her. Lily knew she was in trouble then. Her father walked up to the bars.

“You lied to me, Lilian”, he said, his voice deep with anger.

Lily actually cowered away from her father. “I didn’t completely lie…” she said.

“I WASN’T DONE TALKING!” her father yelled.

“Jack, c’mon. Can’t you do this later?” Alex asked him.

The police officer opened the door and her father grabbed her arm, leading her out of the police station. The ride home was surrounded in a stony silence.

When they arrived home, Lily was sat down on the couch as her father paced.

“Do you have any idea how I felt when I got the call in the middle of the night that my daughter was in jail? Do you know how worried we all were? Copeland was mess. I thought I raised you better than this”, Jack said.

That statement hit a nerve in Lily.

She glared at her father and stood up from the couch. “That’s rich coming from you! Do you know how many of your parties I witnessed as a child? How many times I woke up and found strangers in our house? The amount of times one of your band friends had to put me to bed, because you were too drunk to? You’re the reason mom’s dead! She drank herself to death to get away from you!” Before she knew it, her father’s hand had connected with her cheek.

“Oh my god. Lily, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to”, her father said. He wrapped her arms around him. “I’m so sorry. I just don’t want you to end up like her”.

That night was burned into each of their memories.

Jack had come home and found his daughter lying next to the body of his wife, who had overdosed on sleeping pills and alcohol.

“I won’t”, Lily told him, “I promise”.

“Why don’t you go get cleaned up and we’ll go out tonight? Just us three?” Alex said.

“I’d like that”, Lily said and headed up the stairs.
