Digital Marketing: Types, Strategy, and Benefits
Tumblr media
There are many ways to grow a business with the help of digital marketing. But first, we start With What is Digital Marketing
Tumblr media
What is Digital Marketing?
Let's Start With what is digital marketing. Digital marketing is the process of using digital technologies to promote or market products or services. It can be done through a variety of channels, including email, social media, search engines, and website advertising.
Digital marketing is a broad term that covers a wide range of marketing activities. It can be as simple as creating a post on social media or as complex as developing a new website. However, all digital marketing efforts share one common goal: to reach and engage customers through the use of digital channels.
There are many advantages to using digital marketing, including the ability to reach a large audience with minimal effort, the ability to track and measure results, and the ability to target specific demographics. Additionally, digital marketing is often more cost effective than traditional marketing methods.
Despite the advantages of digital marketing, there are also some challenges that should be considered. These include the need to keep up with rapidly changing technology, the risk of being impersonal, and the potential for reaching too large of an audience.
Digital marketing is a powerful tool that can be used to promote products or services. However, it is important to consider the challenges and advantages before using this type of marketing.
Digital Marketing refers to utilizing a wide range of marketing techniques, both online and offline, to reach potential customers and influence their purchasing decisions. This includes email marketing, search engine optimization, social media marketing, and more.
Types of Digital Marketing
Tumblr media
There are a variety of digital marketing tools and strategies that businesses can use to reach their target audience. Some of the most common types of digital marketing include search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, content marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing.

Content marketing is a digital marketing technique that involves creating and sharing valuable content in order to attract and retain customers. Social media marketing is a digital marketing strategy that involves using social media platforms to build relationships and interact with potential and current customers. Email marketing is a digital marketing tactic that involves sending promotional emails to customers in order to generate leads and convert sales and many others.
Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility and ranking of a website or web page in search engine results pages (SERPs). SEO can be done on-page (i.e., within the website or web page itself) or off-page (i.e., outside of the website or web page).
On-page SEO includes optimizing the website or web page content, structure, and code, as well as optimizing the website or web page for local search. Off-page SEO includes building backlinks, getting social media mentions, and creating online directories.
SEO is important for businesses and organizations of all sizes, in all industries, in all parts of the world. A well-optimized website or web page can help a business or organization to attract more visitors, leads, and customers.
There are a number of ways to increase Search Engine Optimization efficiency. One way is to focus on key SEO activities that are most likely to result in success. These activities include keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and content marketing. Another way to increase SEO efficiency is to make use of tools and technologies that can help automate and streamline SEO tasks. Examples of such tools include SEO analysis tools, keyword research tools, and link-building tools. Finally, it is also important to keep up with the latest SEO trends and developments to ensure that your SEO efforts are as effective as possible.
Content Marketing
Content Marketing is a type of marketing that focuses on creating and distributing content that is relevant to a target audience. The goal of Content Marketing is to attract and retain customers by providing them with valuable and relevant information. Content Marketing can be used to promote products and services, build brand awareness, and generate leads. It is an effective way to reach and engage customers and can be used in conjunction with other marketing channels such as paid advertising, social media, and email marketing.
There are a few key things to keep in mind when doing content marketing:
1) know your audience.
2) produce quality content.
3) promote your content.
4) measure your results.
Knowing your audience is critical to content marketing success. You need to understand whom you are trying to reach and what they are interested in. This will help you produce content that is relevant and engaging.
Quality content is also essential. Your audience will quickly lose interest if your content is poorly written or not relevant to their interests. Make sure to proofread your content and have someone else review it before you publish it.
Once you have quality content, you need to promote it. This can be done through social media, email marketing, and other online channels. The more people that see your content, the more likely it is that they will engage with it.
Finally, measure your results. Keep track of how many people are viewing and sharing your content. This will help you gauge its effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
Social Media Marketing
Social media marketing is one of the most efficient and effective ways to connect with customers and promote your brand. It allows customers and customers’ friends and followers to connect with your company or product in a variety of ways. Additionally, social media marketing can help to build brand awareness and create an audience for promoting your brand or product.
Social media marketing is the process of using online platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to build relationships and interact with potential and current customers. By creating and sharing engaging content, businesses can attract attention, generate leads, and build brand awareness.
To be effective, social media marketing requires a strategic approach. businesses need to identify their goals and objectives, understand their target audience, and create content that resonates with them. They also need to be active on social media, engaging with their audience and responding to comments and questions in a timely manner.
There are a number of ways to increase social media marketing efficiency. One is to use social media management tools like Hootsuite or Sprout Social to help schedule and publish content, track engagement, and measure results. Another is to partner with influencers and thought leaders in your industry to amplify your reach and create more impactful content. Finally, staying up to date with the latest social media trends and best practices will help ensure that your efforts are effective.
Pay-per-click (PPC)
Pay-per-click (PPC) is an advertising model in which advertisers pay a fee each time one of their ads is clicked. Essentially, it's a way of buying visits to your site, rather than attempting to "earn" those visits organically.
PPC is a popular and effective way to drive traffic to your website, especially in the early stages of your business when you may not be as visible in the organic search results. It can be a great way to supplement your SEO efforts and get your site in front of more potential customers.
That said, Pay-Per-Click can be a very expensive way to drive traffic, and it's important to have a clear understanding of your goals and target audience before you dive in. Otherwise, you could end up wasting a lot of money on clicks that don't convert to sales.
There are many factors to consider when running a PPC campaign, from choosing the right keywords to setting a budget. Here are some tips on how to make your PPC campaign more efficient:
Do your research. Before you start your campaign, take the time to research your target market and understand what keywords they are using to search for your products or services.
Set a budget. Make sure you set a realistic budget for your campaign and stick to it.
Monitor your results. Keep an eye on your campaign results and make adjustments as needed. Regularly monitor your click-through rate (CTR), conversion rate, and cost per conversion to ensure your campaign is performing well.
Test, test, test. Always be testing different aspects of your campaign to see what works best. Try different ad copy, landing pages, and keywords to see what gets the best results.
By following these tips, you can make your PPC campaign more efficient and effective.
Mobile Marketing
Mobile Marketing is the process of reaching out to potential customers through the use of mobile devices, such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops. This type of marketing can be done through a variety of means, such as text messaging, apps, social media, and website optimization. The goal of Mobile Marketing is to reach potential customers where they are and to provide them with the information they need when they need it.
With the vast majority of people now owning some form of mobile device, mobile marketing has become an incredibly important tool for businesses of all sizes. By reaching out to potential customers through their mobile devices, businesses can stay connected with them, and provide them with timely and relevant information. Mobile marketing can be used to promote special offers, announce new products or services, and keep customers up-to-date on the latest news from the company.
Done correctly, mobile marketing can be an extremely effective way to reach potential customers and build and maintain a strong relationship with them.
Mobile marketing is one of the most efficient and effective ways to reach your target audience. It allows you to communicate with them directly, and it gives you the ability to track and measure your results.
There are a few things you can do to increase your mobile marketing efficiency:
1. Use a mobile-friendly website.
Make sure your website is designed for mobile devices. This will make it easier for your target audience to view and navigate.
2. Use mobile-specific content.
Your target audience is using their mobile devices to access the internet, so it's important to create content that is specifically designed for this platform. This means using shorter paragraphs, easy-to-read fonts, and large buttons or links.
3. Use SMS marketing.
SMS marketing is a great way to reach your target audience with a direct and personal message. You can use it to send coupons, announcements, or reminders.
4. Use mobile apps.
Mobile apps are a great way to engage your target audience. You can use them to provide content, games, or even just information about your brand.
5. Use social media.
Social media is a great way to connect with your target audience. You can use it to share content, engage in conversations, and even run contests or promotions.
Email Marketing
Email Marketing is a great way to reach out to potential customers and build relationships with them. It allows you to stay in touch with your customers and keep them updated on your latest products and services. Email Marketing is also a great way to build brand awareness and build trust with your customers.
Email marketing is a form of direct marketing that uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. However, the term is usually used to refer to:
Sending emails with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers, encouraging customer loyalty and repeat business,
Acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately,
Sending emails with the purpose of persuading the recipient to take some action, such as visiting a website, registering for a free trial, or making a purchase.
Email marketing can be very effective when done correctly, but there are a few things you should keep in mind to make sure your email marketing campaign is as effective as possible:
Keep your audience in mind - whom are you trying to reach with your email marketing campaign? segment your email list accordingly to make sure you are sending the right message to the right people.
Make sure your email is well-designed and easy to read - no one wants to read a long, convoluted email. Keep your message clear and to the point, and make sure your email design is clean and professional.
Pay attention to your subject line - your subject line is the first thing your recipients will see, so make sure it's attention-grabbing and relevant to your message.
Timing is everything - send your email at a time when your recipients are likely to be able to read and act on it.
Test, test, test - before you send out your email to your entire list, test it out on a small group first to make sure everything is working as it should.
By following these tips, you can make sure your email marketing campaign is as effective as possible.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketing is a type of online marketing in which businesses promote and sell products or services on behalf of other companies. In return for promoting these products or services, businesses receive a commission on any sales that they generate.
Affiliate Marketing can be an effective way for businesses to reach a larger audience and to generate sales. However, it is important for businesses to carefully select the products or services that they promote, as well as the companies that they partner with. Otherwise, they may end up promoting products or services that are not aligned with their brand or that do not have a good reputation.
Marketing Automation
Marketing automation is a process whereby marketing tasks are automated through the use of the software. This can include tasks such as email marketing, social media marketing, and targeted ads. Marketing automation can be a great way to improve efficiency and effectiveness in your marketing campaigns. It can also help to free up time so that you can focus on other aspects of your business.

Digital Marketing Strategy for B2B -
A digital marketing strategy for B2B businesses can be very different from that of B2C businesses. The main difference is that B2B businesses are usually more complex, with longer sales cycles and more decision-makers involved. As such, a successful digital marketing strategy for B2B businesses needs to be more targeted and focused on the specific needs of the business.
Some key elements of a successful digital marketing strategy for B2B businesses include:
Identifying the key decision-makers within the target market and tailoring the marketing message to them
Developing a strong online presence through a corporate website and social media
Creating targeted content that speaks to the specific needs of the business
Engaging in lead generation activities to generate quality leads
Using data and analytics to track results and optimize the strategy
Digital marketing is one of the most efficient and effective ways to connect with customers and promote your business. However, when it comes to B2B marketing, the strategies can be quite different from those used in B2C marketing. Here are some tips for developing a successful digital marketing strategy for a B2B business:
Define your target audience: When it comes to B2B marketing, it is essential to first define your target audience. This can be done by identifying the key decision-makers within your target companies. Once you know whom you are targeting, you can tailor your marketing messages and strategies to appeal to them.
Use content marketing: Content is king when it comes to digital marketing. This is especially true for B2B businesses, as decision-makers are often looking for informative, helpful content that will help them make better decisions. Utilize content marketing to provide your target audience with the information they need, when they need it.
Incorporate SEO: Search engine optimization should be a key part of your digital marketing strategy. B2B decision-makers often use search engines to research potential vendors, so it is important that your website and content are optimized for relevant keywords.
Utilize social media: Social media is a powerful tool for connecting with customers and promoting your business. However, it is important to use social media wisely, as it can be easy to alienate your target audience if you are not careful. When using social media for B2B marketing, focus on providing valuable content and engaging with your target audience, rather than selling them your product or service.
By following these tips, you can develop a successful digital marketing strategy for your B2B business.

Henry held your hand tight as you guided him to the elevator.
JJ had just gotten back from a trip to Michigan for a case. She ended up sleeping for a couple hours before she had to go back into work again, all before little Henry woke up for the day. Since she hadn’t seen her son in almost three weeks, you thought it would be nice to bring Henry to her with some lunch as a surprise.
You had been JJ and Will’s nanny for almost 8 months now. Since Will had returned to work and JJ’s job was still incredibly demanding, they started looking for a nanny for their 3-year-old son. You just so happened to be looking for a job and to finally put your experience as a nursery assistant back home to good use.
“You excited to see mummy?” You asked Henry as you stood in the elevator, his little FBI visitor badge far too big on his little body.
“Yeah!” He replied excitedly, jumping up and down while still holding your hand. You had taken Henry to pick up some lunch at JJ’s favourite place then let Henry pick out a pastry for each of you to have for dessert.
“Alright, remember, you have to hold on tight to my hand, okay? There are lots of people around,” you reminded the young boy, crouching down to his level.
“Uh huh,” Henry nodded, his tiny hand squeezing yours.
The elevator dinged and you gently guided Henry toward the bullpen, silently searching for JJ’s office. Henry stayed close to you as you swerved through the busy agents. You decided to ask someone who you thought looked vaguely familiar.
“Uh, Emily, right?” You gestured toward the dark haired woman sitting at her desk.
She glanced up at you, seeming to recognise you and little Henry almost instantly, “Oh hey! You’re Y/N, right?”
“Yeah, I was just wondering if you could point me in the direction of JJ’s office-”
“Did you know the Australian mainland extends from west to east for nearly 2,500 miles?” someone behind you said, obviously hearing your Australian accent.
Emily rolled her eyes and looked at you, “don’t mind, Reid.”
You turned around to look at ‘Reid’, he was cute, probably the young doctor JJ told you about. You pointed at him, “Dr. Spencer Reid, right?”
He ignored you, “And most of the rocks forming the foundation of Australia are from the Precambrian and Paleozoic time… about 4.6 billion and 252 million years ago respectively,” he looked up at you, “yes, I’m Dr. Reid.”
“Mm,” you hummed.
“I’ll go get JJ for you,” Emily sighed, frowning disapprovingly at Reid. You sat down next to Emily’s desk, picking up Henry to sit him in your lap.
“Where are you from?” Another man asked, “I’m Derek Morgan, you must be Henry’s nanny?”
“Yeah, I am… I’m from Melbourne,” you smiled.
Spencer interjected, “Melbourne isn’t said like that. The spelling negates that.”
“Kid… she’s from there, I think she knows how it’s said,” Morgan retorted.
You just chuckled softly, “I’d love to hear you mansplain my country to me, Dr. Reid.”
“I’m not mansplaining,” Spencer replied, seeming offended.
“You kind of are,” Morgan added, leaning back in his chair.
“Mansplaining!” Henry exclaimed, making both you and Morgan laugh. Henry bolted from your lap the moment he saw his mum. You stood up to greet JJ as little Henry tackled her in a hug.
“What are you guys doing here?” JJ asked, cuddling Henry close to her.
“We thought we would surprise you for lunch,” you smiled, “Henry picked some pastries out for us too, for dessert… I hope it’s okay?”
“No, it’s perfect,” JJ replied, “it’s just what I needed honestly,” she sighed, giving you a side hug as she guided you to her office.
Henry sat on the floor playing with a few toys you brought along for him while you and JJ talked, “so, that Dr. Reid? He’s a character.”
“You met him, huh?” she leans back in her chair with a laugh.
“Oh yeah,” you replied, “he seems…” you trailed off.
JJ nodded knowingly, “Yeah, he’s like that.”
“He’s cute though,” you shrugged with a small laugh.
“Mm, I’ll make sure to tell him that,” JJ teased.
“Don’t you dare,” you retorted quickly.
You spent the last half an hour of JJ’s break sitting with her and Henry on the floor helping him do a puzzle he had left from the last time he was here. It was nice for JJ to see her son, she missed him terribly but she knew he was in good hands with you.
JJ had to get back to work shortly after and she squeezed Henry in a tight hug, reminding you she might be late again tonight, which you didn’t mind.
“Say ‘bye-bye’, mummy!” You held Henry’s hand, waving at JJ.
“Bye-bye, mommy!” Henry called, waving his little hand around.
You spun around, guiding Henry through the bullpen again before an idea popped into your head. You turned on your heel at the side of Spencer’s desk.
“Hey, Dr. Reid?” You asked softly.
“Yes?” He peered up at you.
“Ever heard of drop bears?”

i LOVED those chuckler headcanons - he's my absolute fave in the pacific and there's so little writing about him! could i request some more, maybe chuckler with a medic reader during wartime?
Chuckler Dating a Medic
Chuckler Juergens x Medic!Reader
Masterlist
A/N: Hi anon! Thanks for the request!! Love this gif (peep my baby hoosier 🫶) this is about the fictional portrayal of the H company boys on the show. nothing but love and respect for veterans on this blog!
Tumblr media
Being assigned to H company, you meet the boys on the ship over.
The first time Lew sees you, he has to do a complete double-take.
At first he's like, "That's a woman," and then he takes a good look at you..." Wow. that's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," type vibes.
He immediately gets a crush on you, and by the time y'all deploy to Guadalcanal, the poor fella is hopelessly in love, despite not knowing you for long.
Bill and Leckie's teasing is unending, and it's the only time you see Lew clam up and get embarrassed.
When the company first encounters the Japs at Tenaru, Lew's heart is in his throat every time he sees you dart from foxhole to foxhole, responding to the call for a corpsman.
He tried to keep tabs on you, but amongst the smoke and bullets in the air, he lost you. Even though he wanted to go searching for you, Lew knew you were good at your job and that he had his own to do, but it didn't stop him from worrying.
When morning came and the dust settled, he saw you sitting in a hole, staring off into space, your dungarees covered in blood (it's not yours). He freaks out and slides next to you, asking you a million questions.
Lew cups your cheeks gently to get you to look at him, and instinctually, you lean forward and connect your lips. It was s short kiss (really like a peck), but it shut Chuckler up, and he stared at you dumbfounded.
"You just kissed me," he says, his eyes wide.
You smile, your teeth a contrast to the dirt and blood on your face. "I did."
Then...boom, he asks you to be his girlfriend, and you ofc say yes. You've gotta keep it on the DL, but the boys know and joke about it constantly, but you also know they would take the secret to the grave if they had to.
Any time Lew would get even the slightest bit hurt, and I mean like a tiny cut on his finger or something, you'd go in full medic mode.
"I need to disinfect it," and "Let me see, hon."
Deep down, you're absolutely terrified of losing him, so you kind of go crazy making sure you do everything in your power to keep him healthy.
You're probably the mom friend of the group and always make sure they're all doing okay. In turn, Chuckler is always there for you if you want to talk about anything.
Being a medic is draining, and there are some days that you just lay in his arms at night, trying to forget the blood and death you'd witnessed that day.
By the time you got to Melbourne, you were almost to your breaking point. Seeing boys blown to bits and crying for their mothers day after day became too much.
Instead of going out and exploring, you stayed in the stadium and slept like Hoosier. You told Chuckler to go have fun, but he insisted on staying with you. He sat propped against the legs of your cot, rubbing your hand gently, trying to coax you to sleep.
As the months went on in the Australian city, everything seemed to get better, and you took advantage of the time you had with Lew.
You went to the beach, learned how to play cricket, and went on a million picnic dates.
When your orders came that you were going to ship out again, Lew went out, bought a ring, and proposed.
You say yes, and he puts the ring on a chain for you to wear.
On Cape Gloucester, you were often caught up in the medic tent treating infections and other illnesses like the enuresis that Bob ended up developing.
Pavuvu was even worse when it came to sickness. Runner was badly sick with malaria, and you and Lew were tending to him the best you could, but there wasn't much you could do.
You'd stay up all night beside his bedside, keeping tabs on his fever and making sure he didn't need anything. After a few days of this, you were dead on your feet, and Chuckler had to step in.
He'd gently urge you to bed and sit beside your cot, running his hand through your hair. Within seconds, soft snores escaped your mouth and you were out like a light.
From Pavuvu, you went to Peleliu, and nothing could ever prepare you for what you saw there. It was the bloodiest, most horrifying thing you'd witnessed so far. By the time the Marines took the airfield, Leckie, Bill, and Runner had been hit, and you had no idea where Lew was.
When you found him, you almost cried, and he engulfed you in a HUGE hug, lifting you off your feet for a moment.
The pair of you stick side by side through the campaign on Peleliu until he gets hit, and when he does, you patch him up as you try not to fall apart.
Finally, you're called back off the line, and you're by Lew's side the whole time as he's carried on the stretcher to the medical ship. You couldn't go with him, no matter how much you wanted to, so you said a tearful goodbye and kissed him softly, promising you'd see him soon.
You wrote him as you made your way through Okinawa, and you burst into tears when the news of the war's end reached you.
Lew was waiting for you when you finally got to come home. The first thing y'all do is go to the courthouse and get married!
The two of you spend the rest of your lives living outside Chicago in a small town that was quiet and peaceful, except for the trouble your kids caused when became teenagers!

Besties, we have a story time....
So.. when I left Australia, I left kind of quickly and without a lot of very important documents I needed and NAB doesn't make it easy to recover anything if you don't have those documents. So I've just been getting emails for ten years about my bank account in Australia that I cannot access and cannot recover anything for because I don't have the account numbers or the phone associated with the account any longer, it's just been all so fun.
Besties, I was cleaning the other day and I was looking through my important documents folder for my birth certificate information and out fluttered a singular bank statement with my account number on it. And today I have been on the phone with hospitals and the cops and childline all day so I was like, "I'm already drained. What's a little call to Melbourne gonna do to me?"
This wonderful woman picked up and she helped me but she said she couldn't do anything without my Australian phone number which I don't know anymore. So then she went really quiet and I thought she hung up and then she said, "Could it be in your email? Like you emailed your mum or a job with that number attached." So I looked!! AND IT WAS THERE!!
But it wasn't the right one!!
And I was so close to tears. I was like, "I left an unsafe relationship I don't know anything else, are you telling me I'm just stuck with this account for the rest of my life?"
So she goes, "I'll give you a hint, it ends in [REDACTED]. Does that sound familiar?" Yes. Yes it does, that's my ex's number. So she goes, "Search your email for those three numbers and go back to the time you lived here and see if you ever used that in a resume or application."
BESTIES, I COULD KISS HER.
This was the number. She logged in. She deleted that number out and changed it to my American number. She got me all the log in information so that I could get to the account on the internet and she stayed on the phone until I had finished it all.
I logged in and I had money in it!!! And I was like, "Honestly, it's going to be very ridiculous to transfer this back to my US bank account." And she was like, "So I can send you a new debit card to your American address or you can donate the money and I can close the account."
Donated to Disaster Relief Australia because I will always love this big scary place full of big scary things that welcomed me and put me in the path of people who literally saved my life and I will always want the best for it. Closed that account. I am officially done with that man. No more bank account, every cell in my body has renewed to something he has never touched and I am living my best life while he is bald.

MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING FOR EXPLICIT DESCRIPTIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ABUSE
My name is Jaime. At 15, I left home due to the abuse going on there and I became a homeless runaway living on the streets of Melbourne, Australia…
Within days I met apparently friendly older men around the age of 20 or so, who offered me a hotel room to stay in if I helped them sell newspapers on the corner. At the time I thought they were being kind. It was soon made very evident that there was an extra price for this roof over my head. There began a steady stream of strangers coming to my room and expecting all kinds of sex from me. It was a tiny room with just a single bed and a bedside table. I was not allowed to leave it for any reason other than to use the bathroom down the hall.
All I can really recall from those days are the smell of bad breath, body odour and fresh cum as the faces and ages of these men all intermingle in my nightmares. I cannot even tell you how long I was trapped in that hotel, as each day and night blurred into the next.
One night I was bundled in a car and driven to a house just outside the CBD. I was instructed to stay with the man at that house. It was made clear to me that I was expected to have sex with him. The fact he spoke English and had a lovely looking home made it seem not so bad compared to where I had been. I lied and gave him a false name and said I was 17, almost 18.
A couple of days later, he drove me back to the city hotel so I could gather the clothes and things I’d left behind. It was empty and I had nothing left to my name but the clothes on my back. So I accepted his offer to stay with him as it seemed like a better option than trying to survive on the streets.
I tried to live a normal life of getting a job at Coles and leaving my past behind. One day, my lies about my age and name caught up with me and I was put back into the government foster care system as a ward of the state. I was put in a home with much older residents and was again raped and abused, so my sense of worth was zero. I felt it was all I deserved.
At 16, I was allowed to move out of the system and back to the “home life” I knew. That is where I really began joining in with the full-on drugs, alcohol and porn/sex trade scene. Surrounded by adults who, for them, it was normal, by 17, I was stripping and nude modelling and quickly became addicted to the money. My face and my body were the only assets I had to sell.
Not long after my 18th birthday I began work for an insurance company. Another attempt at a normal life. I was subjected to sleazy bosses and customers who didn’t want the insurance I was selling. They wanted my mouth, my tits and what was between my legs.
Months went by and suddenly the homicide squad from Sydney NSW were knocking on my door. They were unsure if I was dead or alive as they had photos of me on the same roll of film as a young woman who had gone missing from the streets of St Kilda and was presumed murdered. It turned out she had been kidnapped, drugged, tortured and photographed naked and then killed by a man, who had come to the studio I worked at months earlier.
To this day I’m grateful I said no to his offer of more money to leave the studio to go to the beach with him for further photos – or my story would have ended there. Except as a google search for murdered sex workers in Australia.
Because of my lack of confidence that I could do anything else, I spent months stripping around the pubs and clubs of Melbourne. Private gigs were always the worst as there were more expectations of the acts we were asked to perform. Live sex acts with bucks party men. Lesbian acts were expected, condoms were not. Drugs and alcohol were a standard part of my life.
By 21, I was a single mother struggling to pay my rent. One morning, after dropping my child off at day care where I knew they would care for my child better than I could at the time, I came home in tears and picked up the paper and looked for a job. Every one of them wanted qualifications and an education level I didn’t have.
I then saw an ad for massage girls. Due to my past experiences of nude modelling and stripping, I knew what the ad meant. They were offering an immediate start. So, with my pride pushed aside, I called and arranged to go to a legal brothel in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
My idea of legal brothel work was a nice clean place, nice men who would pay good money to have sex with me, and a safe working environment because it was all legal, right? I’d been having sex with men I didn’t like for years so why not get paid for it in a legitimate business?
A friendly lady met me and took me inside and showed me around the nice-looking spa rooms and explained I could earn a lot of money being a fresh face and so pretty. At $80-90 an hour, I thought how hard could it be? I had arrived just before lunch time and was told I could start immediately as they were expecting to be busy.
I quickly learned that there was such a thing as a 15-minute booking for $50 cost to the punter – of which I received $25. There was no nice spa room for that. Instead, I was put in a tiny little room with a huge two-way mirror. My first john was a scrawny elderly man who, as a regular, was given first choice of me being fresh meat. Reeking of garlic, and with very long fingernails, he demanded I get naked and get on my knees to suck his dick. His nails dug into my head as he fucked my face and I tried not to gag at the smell of him. It was over within five minutes and he left me to clean up.
For the next two hours, I was in and out of that room faster than a swinging saloon door as men on their lunch break came in to get their rocks off as fast as they could. Sucking and fucking till I was feeling dizzy and sore. The other girls assured me it was normal for the lunch time rush and I would get used to it in a day or two and don’t forget to use as much lube as I needed.
As I walked out of there with just over a couple of hundred dollars cash, I said I’d be back tomorrow. I had two weeks rent in my pocket and I could feed my child that night. That first week I went home with enough to take my child shopping for winter clothes and shoes. I filled my fridge and pantry and, for the first time, I was a month ahead in rent and my bills were paid on time. I had a new addiction. Money of my own.
I bought new clothes, lingerie, gowns, shoes, make up and jewellery to make sure I was the prettiest girl on shift so I would earn the most money. I also bought lots of alcohol and weed to numb myself after work. I was given a work name – so I became her and she became me and we were strong empowered women earning our own money in a legitimate business, not relying on a man to pay our bills or way through life… From legal brothels to escort services, I was doing it all, except where it was illegal: on the streets.
Meanwhile the rest of my life was falling apart. I had sex with old men. Ugly men. Savage men, who would pin me down and grind their hips into my thighs till I felt like they would dislocate. Drunk men who would get angry and demand a refund because they couldn’t cum after an hour of sucking and fucking. Entitled men who felt they had paid for the right to use my body in any way shape or form they wanted to. Perverted men who paid me more to wear a school girl uniform and call them daddy. Strange men who paid extra for me to fuck them anally with large dildos while they masturbated. Bastard men who only wanted it doggy style so they could attempt to slip the condom off. Men coming straight from a factory job covered in grease and dirt with filthy hands and nails wanting to shove as many dirty fingers into my vagina as they could. Men who were offended when I told them I needed to perform a visual STD check for crabs or herpes before the booking could go ahead. Men who were even more offended when I refused to service them due to suspicious looking critters or lesions on their dicks and told them they could return when they could supply a doctor’s certificate.
I was booked to go to men’s homes, workplaces or wherever they were. My driver I hear you ask? Surely, I was safe with a driver waiting outside? More often than not, I drove myself as the escort company’s one driver can’t drive six women to different parts of the city or suburbs all booked at different times or lengths of booking.
So off I went. Never knowing if tonight was going to be my last night alive if I displeased the john with no-one to intervene. Would my child be left growing up to discover Mum was a dead prostitute? I learned how to negotiate enough to get myself out of some pretty scary situations with johns who were drunk or high. I guess that’s one good life skill. What I use it for these days is not much, but hey, at the time, I was an expert…
Especially with the guy high on crack who was holding a large Crocodile Dundee size knife when I came back from doing a safety check of the hotel bathroom. Thankfully, he was only using it to cut the TV cord for the copper in it. But I swear in that moment, I thought I was dead and I prayed…. To Everything… Then I spent three hours fucking him so I could walk out without further incident as the image of that knife constantly flashed before me.
Every month I went to my doctor for STD tests to prove to my bosses I was fit for work, and every three months, a blood test to hopefully prove I had not contracted HIV from a john. The anxious wait for the all clear still sits in the hallowed hell of my memory bank.
I was in and out of legalised prostitution from the ages of 21 to 32. Do you know that the only kind of promotion I got in all those years was to go from the rooms to behind the counter, helping to sell other women like myself. I hate myself for that. To me, I was no better than the pimps and thugs who trade in women and children for profit.  But it was all I knew and there was no real tangible support to help me turn my life around.
There was so much shame and fear associated with coming forward even to a GP, because they all seemed to think it was my choice to work as a prostitute. In some ways, it was the only choice. I knew nobody wanted to employ a woman who puts “sex worker” on their resume to fill in the 11-year gap in their working life when they attempt to reclaim some semblance of a “normal life”.
Almost none of the helping professionals I have seen over years of therapy has ever asked how this job has affected me. Even today after all these years. Instead, they try and diagnose me with borderline personality disorders or schizophrenia or bipolar and put me on medication – which never worked, by the way. If anything, they made things much worse as I was bounced from one medication to another as doctors tried to squeeze me in a neat box and tick me off as cured.
Only one got it right – in 2004. I live with Complex Post Traumatic Stress (CPTSD) and Dissociative Identity Disorder, and chronic lifelong back injuries, and vagina and rectal trauma. I’m not crazy. I’m not mental. My name is Jaime and I am the hidden result of the real horror behind the closed red doors of the sex trade industry here in Australia.
It is my lived experience that gives me the right to say that sex work is not a job like any other job and nor should it ever be seen as such. The deaths and long term mental and physical illnesses caused by this industry are ever growing and uncountable in monetary terms for society as a whole.
There is a minute percentage of people who may come out unscathed from their time in it, but I’m here to tell you an unpopular truth: I’ve personally met well over a hundred women over the years who will never have a normal life again. Beaten, bashed, raped, killed – and that’s just me.
I can’t help but think of the thousands of stories women tell each other every day as they wait in some dingy waiting room hoping to pay their rent, bills, school fees, etc. And I haven’t even started on interviewing the men/boys/trans people who have similar life stories to mine.
I don’t even know how to try and get a “normal job” – because I’ve tried – only to have to deal with men who trigger all my old memories with their sexist misogynistic views on women, their “boys will be boys” attitudes, and their locker room jokes.
After over 20 years of quietening my voice, hiding my life in shame and being frightened that no one would believe how damaging this was to me and the loved ones around me, thanks to the love, support and empathy shown towards me/us from Wahine Toa Rising’s founder, Ally Marie, I now feel safe and have the courage to speak out publicly.
Decriminalizing prostitution in countries that I know, like Australia and New Zealand, has sent the message that it’s OK to buy and sell people like pieces of meat at market. My observations of it since leaving 20 years ago, is that it’s caused an explosion in men or women with large amounts of money, mostly obtained through illegal activities, to invest in the creation and building of more brothels to fill the demand of men who want the freedom to abuse and commit violence towards people. I’m saying people as a whole because it’s not only women who are caught in the sex trade.
They target the most vulnerable ones in our societies and exploit them for profit that fills their wallets and, I promise you, the tax man barely sees a cent from them due to the front cover businesses they run at a loss.
Our elected officials are tasked with a duty of care towards the population they represent and to work in the best interests of a happy and healthy society. But they are allowing the sex slave industry to flourish unchecked. This beggars belief to someone like me and others I speak to.
As I stand here today, I implore you to look within your hearts and ask yourself, is this what you would want for your family, children and grandchildren?
To be lied to, tricked, coerced, sold, kidnapped and trafficked to strangers, numerous times a day. To be abused, raped, develop substance abuse issues, be beaten or at worst murdered, by a society that accepts this as a risk of the job that is deemed legal despite overwhelming evidence of the long-term negative ramifications.
Would you feed your family asbestos? Would you advise they take up cigarettes or drink DDT? No. Why not? Because time eventually proved the sickness and death tolls are too high.
In closing, I also ask which side of history will you want to be known for standing on? The one that ultimately destroys humanity or with the ones who did whatever they could to save it.
I know where I’ll be. For I was once taught, that if you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.
Thank you for your time. I pray you choose right from wrong.

The mob lunged towards me, screeching and grabbing, and I knew that if I fell I would never get up. I’ve stopped expecting mercy from anyone whose motto is ‘Be kind’ but the event last week was terrifying. I was sure in that moment, on the New Zealand leg of my ‘Let Women Speak’ tour, that the trans activists who surrounded me would trample me to death if they could. They gather in menacing groups to intimidate us and hurt us if they can, just to prevent us speaking a simple truth: that women don’t have penises, men don’t have vaginas, there is no such thing as non-binary and transitioning children is abuse.
We started these talks at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park, London and have now taken them around the UK and across the USA. The format of the event is a gathering with a microphone and amplification, livestreamed to my ‘Kellie-Jay Keen’ YouTube channel. Women can finally say what they want, protected by the group. It’s a genuine free speech event. Sydney, Brisbane and Perth events saw a few hundred women in total attend and speak about the impact transgender ideology is having upon their lives. They were afraid and yet defiant – they’ve had enough. There were tears and a triumphant resolve to bring our society back to a place where the truth has more value than virtue-signalling.
The turn towards violence came in Melbourne at our largest gathering. The police had done a pretty fine job of protecting women with buffer zones between us and the rabid trans activists. But this gathering included competing groups of woman-hating losers: trans incels to the left of me and Nazis to the right, and here we were stuck in the middle and blamed by the media and politicians for the Nazi salute that occurred. I’ve been asked following that incident whether I have sympathies with the far right, but seriously, who does? It’s a vile ideology and frankly anyone convinced by it in 2023 is pathetic. John Pesutto, the leader of the Liberals in Victoria, repeated dangerous lies about me and suspended Moira Deeming MP from his party for her association with me.
The Tasmanian event was pretty horrifying. The women who spoke were visibly terrified and an angry mob drowned out their voices with hysterical screams and cult-like mantras. Following the event, I was called ‘a Terd’ – a play on ‘Terf’ – in the Tasmanian parliament. This storm gathered pace and in New Zealand it was magnified a hundredfold. There was a case brought to the high court to try to stop me entering the country and their media started a constant spew of lies, insisting I was a dangerous anti-trans Nazi. At the border I had a two-hour interrogation and search, one hotel cancelled my reservation, and in another a threatening note was slid under my door while I slept. I had been told I would be protected by the police. That couldn’t have been further from the truth.
The big event, the one that has been in the news, was in Auckland, and the minute I arrived I felt rising fear. As the car pulled up I could see the thousands gathered to oppose me. My security gathered around me and we pushed through the hateful mob to the centre, where the local organisers and attendees were who had come to speak. Where were the police? Not one officer was in that crowd; not one officer was there to protect the brave women who turned up. Within seconds a man had tipped tomato soup all over my head. I continued to live-stream. But over the next few minutes the mob took on a life of its own. A frenzy grew until it was a deafening swell, a modern-day ‘Burn the witch’. Men started ripping down the barriers and charging forward. ‘The police aren’t coming,’ said my head of security. ‘We have to get you out.’ This meant placing me in the centre of my security and some stewards, women who had volunteered to help, pushed through the baying mob. As we moved, we stumbled. I knew that a body on a floor is fair game and ripe for stomping and kicking. When we eventually got to the outer edge of the park, the police did step in and helped get me to a car. They took me to the nearest police station where I was guarded for six hours before I had an escort of three officers to the airport. They didn’t leave until my plane took off.
That day I was told emphatically by each police officer and security that had I fallen I would have been killed. Women were injured that day, women who you may never hear about. You will never know their names. They didn’t get to hop on a plane and leave; they have to stay and live in a country that has told them their lives are not worth protecting.

THE PROMISE (2023, THAILAND)
Episode 6 (after month long hiatus)
I have a lot to say about this series...so without further ado let the ramble begin.
I fell in love with these characters because of the 2 mini series last year PHUPHA (August 2022) then NANFAH (November 2022) before the series was announced. For the mini series it was a more serious tone to it. Phu was ready to confess to Nan after Nan set Phu up on a date with Dina. You could see the life force drain from Phu as Nan brought him to a restaurant then made up an excuse to leave so Dina could confess to Phu that she liked him. Phu told Dina he was in love with Nan and she convinced him to tell Nan. So Phu decided to do that on the last day of university. He says to Nan I have something to tell you so come straight home after your final exams. Nan agrees. Phu comes to Nan's faculty and hears him talking to friends about going out. Now Nan told his friends he needed to go see Phu. Then Phu sees Nan walk up to Gigi and hug her as she gives him a rose. Thinking Nan has chosen Gigi, Phu goes home and packs and leaves a note saying he's moving to Melbourne to be with his mother.
Now in Nanfah, Nan has a chat with his landlady where she reveals the story of Phu leaving after ordering a flower bouquet with a meaning but he came home crying and brokenhearted and left. Nan figures out Phu's feelings and for 10 years searches for Nan. Going to Melbourne every year looking for Phu. Emailing him. Video messaging him.
Now the series cuts a lot of that out. So we start with Phu orchestrating his way back into Nan's life.
So in Episode 5 of the series Nan finds out Phu lied to him and says he never wants to see him again.
So in Episode 6 one expects Phu to grovel to get back in Nan's good graces but NO.. Nan starts the whole process over again when he finds Phu has run away again (this time he thought his grandmother needed him) but Nan again runs after Phu. Yes, he's angry but not as angry as he should be.
So my theory is Nan is just as much into Phu as Phu is into Nan but for different reasons neither wants to say the words. I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU.
Nan is like a zombie after he learns Phu has once again ran off. He can barely function. When the series started Nan couldn't even sleep without prescription drugs. He wrote unanswered emails for 10 years.
Is there a codependency between these two? An obsession? Or is it an unspoken love? Or all of the above.
Nan is always very affectionate with Phu. Cheek kissing, face holding and hugging. Remember that look of jealousy when he saw Phu with Dina in Phu's bedroom?
Anybody else would have put Phu on the back burner and moved on. But Nan can't let go.
Our Dating Sim did this very thing (but better) Lee Wan confessed but felt rejected before disappearing for 7 Years while Ki Tae searched and brought Lee Wan back into his universe via a job.
Plus even after all this during Phu's dream of losing Nan after confessing. Nan says I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU. DAMN GUYS JUST SAY IT ALREADY!!!
Now you gonna tell me Nan was so drunk that he forgot that kiss with Phu?
I think that kiss was Phu's confession because he was so serious about it. He wanted Nan to raise the question. What happened? Why? Because Phu can't say the words. He can't confess. It terrifies him for some reason. He wants Nan SO BAD but he can't say it. So instead he runs away. But quite honestly Phu has been a good friend to Nan and vice versa. From the minis to the series. But his constant running away makes it seem like the opposite is true. I hope this series picks it up soon from being an ad to being a BL.
RANT OVER.

Brisbane, Canberra and Perth seem to have people split 50/50 on whether or not to skip.
Everyone says Sydney is full of cunts but I can't skip that.
Adelaide seems to get the thumbs up all round, as does cairns, Tasmania in general and Wollongong. Alice springs too but same with Sydney, you kind of have to.
I'm enjoying Melbourne so far, if it wasn't for constant job searching I'd be enjoying it far more.

Exclusive Guide to Finding the Best House for Sale in Melbourne
Tumblr media
So you have decided to buy your dream house in the most liveable city on earth—Melbourne?
Did you know that it is often referred to as the “world’s sporting capital”?
Besides having graffiti laneways, cultural diversities, a bayside location, and mouth-watering coffee, this is a good place to live for many reasons.
It has multiple public transportation options, plenty of job opportunities, low crime rates, an immense arts and culture scene, and, in short, an easy lifestyle. Buying your dream house is a big decision, and it must be backed with solid research to get the best deal.
To help you out, we have come up with an extensive guide to finding the best house for sale in Melbourne. Now buckle up and start reading this article to get a vivid image of the buying process.
Tips to Find the Best House for Sale in Melbourne
There are numerous things to consider while checking homes for sale. To ensure you make the buying process a streamlined one, check out the following things.
Fix your budget
You visit a house for sale in Melbourne. It’s alluring, stands tall, and even beats all your expectations. You excitedly enquire about the price and get disappointed to learn it is way beyond your budget.
This hurts badly. To avoid such unpleasant things, first, fix your budget. Once you have a budget fixed, you can filter the market and visit the houses with the confidence that you can buy one if it meets your necessities.
This is why, when it comes to buying a house for sale, having enough funds is critical. From the down payment to closing costs, you must adhere to strict financial commitments. But it’s not always about the money; it’s about the security and freedom that come with owning your dream house, where you can dwell with your loved ones. First, decide on the budget and finances, and set realistic goals.
What are the must-haves in your dream house?
Now take a pen and paper, sit down with your family, and list the must-haves of the house in Melbourne. This might be a big list, but you need patience to curate it. Because acknowledging your needs helps narrow down your search and find the ideal place to live.
Buying your house starts with one simple decision: finding the ideal location to call home. You have already decided that it’s Melbourne.
But did you know that Melbourne is a diverse city with many suburbs to choose from?
The next thing you must fixate on is the size of the house, including the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the style, outdoor space, safety, storage, energy efficiency, and parking.
On top of that, while checking out the Melbourne house for sale, don’t forget to consider the proximity to work, schools, and other amenities.
When tailoring your list, ensure it meets your needs and preferences because you are investing big, and it must be worthy and close to your heart.
Thoroughly investigate home loans
Skipping mortgage pre-approval is one of the biggest mistakes you can make.
If you have decided to get a loan, first learn how much your bank will offer. Remember, what the bank says you can afford is different from what you know you can afford.
On the other hand, what you think you can afford to buy a house in Melbourne is different from what the bank is willing to lend you. Your chances of getting a loan can be affected if you have poor credit or an unstable income.
So, ensure that you are pre-approved for a loan before placing an offer on a home or even before you start house-hunting.
Note: Even if you are pre-approved for a mortgage, your loan can be denied at the last minute if you alter your credit score by financing a car purchase, etc. So be extra careful of the things you plan to buy or lend using your card.
Inspect a property before purchasing it.
Usually, the houses for sale in Melbourne will be presented for inspection by potential buyers at different time slots. Some houses are available for private inspection and can be visited with the real estate agent’s help.
You get 30 to 45 minutes for open home inspections. To make the most of the inspection during this time, make a checklist of what to check.
Use the checklist while inspecting properties.
Take pictures and notes of the property, including the exterior features and if any damage or issues are present. You can make a note of your likes and dislikes for that property.
Ask questions to the concerned person, i.e., the real estate agent there.
If it is a new house, you can ask about
The warranty or guarantee and what it covers
Are upgrades or customizations available?
What are the energy-efficiency features the house has?
If it is an old house, you can enquire.
When was the house last renovated?
Why is the vendor selling it?
What’s included in the property?
How long have they lived there?
What were the past maintenance or repairs done?
Are there any known issues with the house?
By asking questions relevant to your situation, you can better understand the advantages and potential challenges of buying a new house versus an old house and make an informed decision.
This process can seem daunting, and you may lack the experience to deal with it. Get professional help from real estate agents to handle it. Professionals can spot hidden problems and ensure that it’s worth investing in the house.
Don’t ignore the neighborhood.
While checking out the houses for sale in Melbourne, you will naturally be more focused on the house and may overlook the neighborhood.
We understand that it’s not possible to predict the future of your selected neighborhood. But asking about its past can help you avoid unpleasant surprises down the road.
If there is any undeveloped land around, enquire about what is likely to get built there.
Is the home value in the neighborhood rising or declining?
What are the zoning laws in the area?
Check the crime rate and safety. Visit the local houses and neighbors to clear up these doubts.
If you are happy with the answers to these questions, you can show a green signal.
Check the property titles.
Check if the property titles are correct because they are the birth certificate of your property. Homebuyers hire a title company to perform title searches on their behalf.
Here, a real estate attorney can also help find out if any legal issues are present and if the property has been legally transferred to you. In addition, ensure the property boundaries are clearly defined and that there are no boundary disputes.
Check with the local council.
Before you seal the deal, check with the local council to enjoy a worry-free home-buying experience.
The local council is in charge of managing, planning, and developing the area, so they know the ins and outs of it.
So, we can safely call the local council the guardian angel because they can give you insider information that your seller or real estate agent might hide from you.
With their expert knowledge, you can know if the house for sale in Melbourne abides by zoning laws and building codes and is in full compliance with regulations.
Or any future development in the area could affect your property value or quality of life.
Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it sure can buy you a roof over your head!
Make an offer and close the deal.
Making an offer to the households is of huge importance. Before you make an offer, determine your budget and strictly stick to it. Also, consider the additional expenses, including the inspection fees and closing costs.
Next, research recent sales of similar houses in the same neighborhood to determine if the asking price is fair. Your real estate agent can aid you in negotiating and sealing the best deal.
Before sending the proposal, consider contingencies. The contingencies in your offer can save you from unfortunate circumstances such as the inability to secure financing, etc. But ensure you don’t mention too much of it, as it can create a bad impression.
Lastly, write a personal letter. Well, this unique idea can make you stand out from other buyers and create an impression. Be genuine and authentic, and explain why you want to buy the property.
Remember, making an offer is just the beginning of the negotiation process. The stronger the offer, the more chances you have of securing your dream home.
Final Words
And to conclude, an important point to remember is: Don’t overthink signing the deal. We understand that buying your dream house is huge. But again, you must have done ample research before throwing an anchor on one.
There are cases where buyers lose the best deal because someone else takes the swift decision and buys it. And importantly, negotiation is important, but overdoing it can ruin the deal. When the house for sale in Melbourne ticks most of the boxes on your checklist, go for it.
Buying your house can be thrilling, but it can also be overwhelming if you put everything in your head. So, hire a real estate agent to hold your hand in the right direction.
RIC Realty is a full-service real estate agency where we are passionate about helping people realize their dreams and aspirations through property. Why Is It Vital To Consolidate Curtains  And Blinds?
Draperies and blinds are two distinct things yet in any case, many actually get befuddled on which of the two is best for their windows. Essentially, one enjoys an alternate upper hand over the other as well as the other way around. Thus, why not join the two?
Many individuals find it unfeasible to introduce both, particularly, if they simply need to make it as straightforward as could be expected. Here are a few elements for what reason is it vital to consider the two Curtains Melbourne and blinds instead of picking one over the other.
1. Security
Shades and blinds are comprised of various materials. The draperies have great cloths while blinds have manufactured materials. On the off chance that you will depend on shades alone, you could find it not adequate to get your security, particularly, assuming the room is excessively splendid. Individuals outside the house can in any case see what is inside the room. The blinds, then again, are essentially made to safeguard security of individuals. On account of the engineered materials used to make it, anybody outside will always be unable to see what was happening inside.
2. Astonishing Appearance
Despite the fact that draperies are not the most ideal decision with regards to security, it stays the best with regards to appearance. Straightforwardness is the word for blinds while wonder is the expression of shades. All in all, individuals can recognize the presence of drapes more than the presence of blinds. This is the reason on the off chance that you esteem the excellence and vibe of the room so a lot, adding the two drapes and blinds over the windows will get the job done. The plain shade of blinds can go with the jazzy looks of draperies. For example, a grimy white droning windows blind is most certainly the ideal ally for the Venetian drape. This blend will guarantee you that guests will wonderment upon the class and style of your lounge.

3. Balance
Picking shades alone are excessively delicate while picking the blinds alone are excessively engineered. The absolute best and most adjusted mood in a room is to pick the two draperies and blinds. This is the motivation behind why formal cafés like to pick shades over blinds while workplaces favor blinds over drapes. Essentially, your house is unique in relation to eateries and workplaces. The vast majority need security while they additionally need warm atmosphere in their home, particularly, in the room where they acknowledge guests. Without a decent feel, guests might find it dull to visit you frequently. They won't ever feel that they are welcome in your home. An excessive amount of warmth, going against the norm, may cause them to feel incredibly good to the point that they would rather not leave the room. In basic terms, consolidating both will give a room the ideal feeling for anybody.
In the event that you might want to search for the best blend of draperies and blinds, then, Effect Shades and Blinds is the ideal spot to begin. Beside a decent mix of plans, styles, and materials, you might try and track down the most ideal arrangements that anyone could hope to find in the market today.

Okay, okay, so I know I have already posted this video way too many times with completely unnecessary details, but I’ve found another one! Since the first time I found it, it’s bothered me that I didn’t know what Adam Hills was talking about in some of it. He mentions that there was a fire at the Gilded Balloon (the venue where they are), which is a pretty easy lyric to untangle, since it’s just a reference to the fact that eight months earlier, there was in fact a fire at the Gilded Balloon, the venue where this takes place. It burned down (along with much of its neighbourhood, which was called Cowgate, which I’ve decided should be the name for this whole incident) and was rebuilt. Adam then suggests that they’ll have to burn down the rebuilt version if they don’t do well enough.
There’s another bit where he says to take the cow out the front and up the Royal Mile, which is also pretty simple. The Royal Mile is the bit of Edinburgh that I’ve gone through on Google Earth 200 times in the last two years, because I think it seems like it’s probably the coolest place in the world even in months that aren’t August. I think they may, in fact, have actually taken the cow up the Royal Mile.
However, there was another bit I did not get. “Erin Coren, she’s outside, she’s got petrol dripping down her eyes.” A lot of the old Edinburgh video clips are very self-referential, they’ll mention some other comedian or other type of act who’s at the festival, whether or not they’re at that actual show. Or they’ll just reference someone who’d be known to Scottish audiences. If I don’t recognize the name, I can usually work it out by Googling. So I’d tried Googling this one, but got nothing. I did not understand who Erin Coren was, or why she’d be outside with petrol on her face.
Today, I’m watching Rock ‘n’ Roll Nerd, a very good documentary about Tim Minchin. I’ve spent the last week watching all of Tim Minchin’s old DVD shows before watching his show that was just released last month, and decided to put on the documentary at the end. Rockumentary-type things can be hit and miss, but this one’s pretty cool because it was made by a friend of his who started filming before he got famous. They didn’t just use old footage or have him tell stories about what he was doing in his early career; they had stuff filmed for this documentary from that time.
I’m only part of the way through the documentary at the moment, but I have to stop and say I’ve found it! This documentary shows Tim Minchin doing his first show at the Melbourne Festival, when he was still trying to emerge in music/comedy. The filmmaker interviewed various audience members outside the venue after the show, including one who said she runs one of the biggest venues in Edinburgh, and this show is clearly ready for Edinburgh, he should take it there. Her name is Karen Koren, and in the next scene we see Tim Minchin taking her up on the offer to call her and bring his show to her theatre, which is called the Gilded Balloon.
That’s why I didn’t find it by Googling – her name is Karen Koren, not what I’d heard Adam say, which is Erin Coren. And I’d been searching with terms that assumed she was a comedian or musician, not the club owner. When I search the correct name accompanied by the correct job title, I find plenty of results.
So that’s that line explained. I think Adam Hills was saying that Karen Koren was waiting outside the Gilded Balloon with petrol because if their shows didn’t make enough money for her venue that year, she’d have to pour petrol on it and set it on fire, presumably for the insurance money. Possibly also implying that that’s how the first fire happened.
Actually, the whole thing gets more coherent with that information. I thought Adam Hills, who was so drunk he forgot which Eminem song he was supposed to be singing, was just throwing out lines. But in this context they make sense in order. "There was a fire at the Gilded Balloon, the police said no one else was to blame. If this season doesn't go well, this fucking venue's going up in flames... Karen Koren, she's outside, she's got petrol dripping down her eyes." He's saying the police were wrong about the fire being no one's fault, it is in fact the club owner burning down her own building when it doesn't make enough money, and she's ready to do it again if they're not impressive enough with this cow.
It is wildly disproportionate - completely out of proportion to how much this actually matters - how satisfying I find it to have finally tied up that end, and when I wasn’t even looking for the answer! Cowgate is a mystery that reveals itself to me a little at a time. I am so fucking pleased to now have the context required to get this joke that Adam Hills made in 2003. Someday I will solve the central mystery of where the cow came from and why they took it apart (so far, efforts to find that have led me down some strange paths of learning that apparently facsimile cows are not uncommon features to just find strewn about Edinburgh), but in the meantime, I’m quite pleased with this.

It only took a few more days for Ally to take her final decision. She loved Australia, she loved the landscape, the sea, the culture. But she always felt like a stranger. The kid that was born from an American man, raised by a single woman. Without her mother, she couldn’t really call Melbourne her home.
Since she arrived in California, everybody has been so nice with her. More than that, everybody welcomed her and gave her a place in their life.
Maverick found his mark as a father and shared with her their commun passion for mechanics, letting her work on his cars and even in his plane. He even took her flying.
Penny always took care of her, ensuring that she felt comfortable and didn't miss anything. Amelia gossiping with her, talking with her about everything, she always looked happy to see her at home when she was back from school.
Kat got this kind of sister’s aura, kind, always asking her to go out at night, introducing her to new people. Even if they spent a little less time these last few days. Indeed, Kat will soon be deployed again. She got at least a week with her boyfriend before they separated again. So Kat and Jake spent the most of their time together, enjoying long lazy mornings under the sheets… or long lazy days to be honest. They missed each other so much that even when they hang out with their friend, they need to go home rapidly under the whistles of everybody.
And there was Bradley. The timidity that she felt about him at their first meeting had soon disappeared. It was hard to stay uncomfortable with him. He was warm and kind, always got something to make you laugh. He asked her a lot of questions about Australia, about her childhood. He never looked bored by everything she was telling him, he always looked fully concerne, asking some questions to deepen the subject of their conversation.
So she made her decision : she was going to live in California. She told her father during one of their mechanic sessions. She was so nervous. “Don’t worry ! I don’t intend to stay forever at your house. I'm gonna find a job and a place. I am very independent and I don't want to…”
“Slow down, slow down Sunshine.” Maverick stopped her with a smile. He had already noticed that Ally always speaks incredibly fast when she's nervous. He searched for her eyes. The same green eyes as his.
“Look at me. You do not bother me. Since the day you arrived in California, I dread the day when you will leave, going back to Australia. You have no idea how much I’m happy to hear you telling me that you want to stay."
Tears welled up in Ally’s eyes. Her heart was full of Gratefulness. For once, the young lady was speechless. So she jumped in her father’s arms. He squeezes her against him. Hiding his own tears in her hairs.
They announced the news the same evening in the Hard Deck. Everybody cheers, genuinely happy as if they just learned one of the most wonderful news of their life. Ally got a lot of hugs, not that she would complain, she loved that.
When Kat took Ally in her arms, squeezing tighter than usual, she whispered in her hair : “I’m so happy to know that you will still be here when I will come back.” Ally smiled at her with a little laught.
Before she could catch one’s breath, she felt a broad torso behind her and a pair of big arms wrapped around her waist. Bradley's breath was warm in her neck. “Game over Australia, we’re keeping Lilly.” When he let her down and moved away, Ally felt like a cold air flow and her heart was beating fast. They celebrated until the open stage began.
With all these emotions, Ally almost forgot that she had to sing tonight. It’s gonna be the first time she's gonna sing in public. A stage had been improvised next to the piano. Maverick, Amelia, Ally and all the Dagger Squad sat down at a table in the front row.
Singers followed one after the other. They were all talented.
Ally became more and more nervous. Her leg twitches frantically under the table. Then she felt a gentle hand in her left thigh, which made her stop immediately. She looked at the man on her left. Pete was looking at her with such similar eyes. “You’re gonna be great. I don’t doubt it. We’re all here for you. If you feel too nervous you’ll just have to look at me ok ? I’ll always be here.”
Ally nods silently and Penny calls her on stage, she was the last one. She stood up, her legs shaking, walking towards the stage under the cheers of the room. She held her guitar so tight that her knuckles turned white.
She carefully settled in the stool in the center of the stage and whispered a shy “hello”.
She searched for her father in public. When she found him she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She remembered when she was sitting on the beach, with her mother, playing guitar and singing for her. Claudia was laughing and clapping in her hand, swinging at the rhythm of the music. She would hear her voice again “You are my little Nightingale.”
So she decided to sing for her, just as if they were the two of them.
She let her fingers find their way on the guitar strings. The acoustic sound of “Isn’t She Lovely” echoed in the silent bar. Soon, a lot of people began to swing in their chairs and clapped in their hands. Ally opened her eyes to see all the people she cares about enjoying her song.
At the end of the song, everybody stood up and a wave of cheers invaded the room, asking for another song. She looked at Penny who nodded from behind the bar. Ally wasn't nervous at all when she came to play and sing “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)". The crowd didn’t sit and they all danced from their table.
At the end, a new wave of cheers. She came down from the stage. Fanboy and Payback barely jumped at her side, congratulating her and telling her how talented she was. Even Bob was excited about the little show.
Pete makes his way through the crown and takes her in his arms. “I told you that you're gonna be great.” Ally thighs him. They separated so Ally could have the congratulation from Kat, Jake and Bradley.
Maverick was so happy that he paid for his tour for everyone, which he regretted when he saw the bill.
Ally felt so lighter that she thought she could fly. This place was her new home. She has never been so sure about something in all her life.

Top Gun Fightertown, two years ago
The sound of the gun salute still rings in Blizzard’s ears when she emptied her locker. The Navy assessed that she was not able to continue her mission in Top Gun. They doubt her psychological stability since Iceman’s death.
It was unfair. She was an instructor during her father’s diseases and no one doubted her. But they didn’t know. Now they do. It’s the only difference.
She didn’t turn her head when she heard the door open then close. She did either when she heard the heavy footsteps come closer. She thought it was Rooster or Hondo. Maybe Warlock. But she didn’t expect to hear a southern drawl echo in the lady’s room.
“I’m sorry, Blizzard.” She turned around and looked at the blond pilot, with an ice cold gaze. She has been wearing this Ice mask since her father’s death. It was the only way she found to stand up.
“Thank you”, she replied with a frozen voice. Hangman took a deep breath and he continued.
“I’m not only sorry for your loss. I’m sorry for everything. For having been a true dickhead with you.” Kat raised an eyebrow but let him continue.
“I thought… I thought you fucked up and were afraid to fly. I was pissed off to know that one of our best pilots could be grounded. I wanted to push you, give you the will to show others your value. To show you that you deserve to be on this mission, to be the leader of the mission. I didn’t think there could be another reason for your layoff. I didn’t think it was because the Admiral… Whatever. I know my apology will not gonna change the world and that I’m still an asshole. Above all after what I said to Rooster about his old man.”
Blizzard looked at Hangman. He leant on the locker in front of her, his hand in his pocket, all his body was tense. He clenched his jaw. There was no humour, no smirk, no cockyness in his attitude. He was an open book, without a mask. A part of Blizzard would like to give him the same privilege. Let him see her as she really was. But she couldn't. If she pulled down the wall, she would break down.
She took her bag and headed for the door. When she came near Hangman, she stopped and looked at him.
“Sorry Jake, I’m not in the mood to forgive you for now. But do your best to come back alive, okay ?” With her frozen ton it was hard to know if it was a beg or an order. Jake looked at her. He was feeling weird about the way his name - his real name - felt from her lips. He nodded.
Blizzard left, without knowing if she was gonna see the blond hair man again. She didn’t know why her heart ached so much at this idea. But she didn’t pay attention. She couldn’t for now.
