You know, if you think about it JGY is the only politician in MDZS. It's not that he's the only "capable" politician, however you chose to interpret what a "capable" mean for a politician or whether or not he meets the distinction but the only politician, period.

He's the only guy who pursues policies or strategic goals through policies.

JGS doesn't really do that - he "outsources" this labour to JGY. He does pursue strategical goal through manipulation of other people at power, but we've never saw him doing so to pursuing a policy.

WRH arguably tries to implement policies but he follows dictatorial model with little political legwork involved

NMJ doesn't unless you count going to a war as a policy (by that I mean he had been trying to rally the support for the cause not just declaring a war)

LXC at most supports JGY, he doesn't pursue anything on his own

NHS manipulates the opinions of other people for his own goals, but he doesn't do it through policies of for the sake of policies.

JC established internal policy for his sect to not send his cultivators unless someone already died, but there are no clear strategic goals he's trying to accomplish through it, nor had he do anything to implement it.

Same can be said about JFM, although his policies were different than JC. And also we don't even know if he established Jiang sect internal policies himself or simply followed traditions.

LQR used to meed Sect leaders but he's to know for any policies whatsoever.

QHJ doesn't even go here.

From what we've seen the sect leaders don't even think in terms of policies. They aren't politicians.

In contrast we know JGY is responsible for at least two policies he had to do the legwork for. He IS a politician. It's hard to tell how good he is because a guy who comes last at the local sporting event is probably still better than guys who never excise, but yeah, it's still to his credit.

In canon, there has always been a deep darkness within the Lan sect. If one believes that being Righteous justifies all things, no one can do more evil than a Righteous Sect. Calamity is the result.

straight was a path of gold (for him), the need of a world of men (for me) is a set of four connected stories that begins shortly after the events at the Guanyin temple. The final acts of Lan Wangji in the sullen wind are followed by a reckoning for Lan Xichen in perfectly pure and good.

What follows in and thus we sit together now is a tale of unexpected revenge. It leads into the final story all his heart's endeavour, in which all things are tied together.

These stories are bitter. There is no sugar-coating to make things seem better than they are. Be warned that the imagery is dark, yet powerful. It is not for the faint of heart. Read the tags and consider kicking them up a notch or two when deciding whether you want to read these stories.

There is a quiet resolution though. In most every part of the multiverse it is inescapable.

So anyway, my new laptop arrived - have a NieYao sketch to celebrate with me! (The idea is that Nie Mingjue gets courted and wooed by Meng Yao in a very Nie like manner. But because brute strength isn’t the way to beat Nie Mingjue in a sparring match, he is being cunning and clever to get him pinned down while Nie Mingjue loves every second of it.)

Also, I decided to at least try to make my sketches look somewhat decent so people won’t have their eyes burn from looking at my horrendous sketching colours. Good idea?

"My favourite brother got murdered." Nie Huaisang's voice cracks a little on the last word, as if the pain so true and raw he can't keep up the pretence he's been acting for the past ten years a moment more.

Jin Guangyao is used to Nie Huaisang's whimsy and wheedling so he doesn't care.

"Favourite?" He snorts, word straight out of his mouth before he dares think, but it doesn't matter what he says. Not really, not here, not with Nie Huaisang sitting opposite him in the dark, shields finally peeled back.

Nie Huaisang and Nie MIngjue had fought like nobody's business, besides-

"Mingjue was your only brother."

Nie Huaisang's eyes looking back at him are never ending pits of violent promise.
