Counter theory:
"My theory was always that Spock was the unhinged and wild one -- a rebel by Vulcan standards -- and he radicalized "stack of book with legs" Jim Kirk.😂
Spock was the one out there mind melding with every Horta, Nomad and V'Ger while Jim and Bones absolutely panicked in the background.

Then Jim usually ended up being the one to get Spock out of it, too. The Apple, Operation Annihilate, A Private Little War, The Infinite Vulcan, TMP . . . How many times did we see Kirk have to carry Spock body and limb and slightly on fire back to the ship after he got into it?

The amount of shit Jim has to do for Spock in Star Trek III alone.
Tumblr media
Spock is like the Enterprise housecat who stubbornly insists on being an outdoor cat and keeps escaping, later having to be carried back indoors. He keeps causing mischief but everybody loves his ass anyway.
Tumblr media
Kirk and Spock were chaotic messes who loved their frontier first contact work in TOS and onward -- they deserved each other.😂👌

Shit, cat got out again.

Pairing: McCoy x Fem!OC (Cara)
Rating: Teen

Have the courage to trust love one more time and always one more time. – Maya Angelou
Excerpt:
Cara’s shoulders inched down as tension ebbed from her body, she resettled her head on Leonard’s chest, pressing its left side into him. He deepened the embrace, tightening his arms around her. A soft sigh fell from her lips. One of his arms slid up her back, its hand cradled her neck, its thumb stroked her right cheek; his other arm encircled her waist, drawing their bodies closer. He tucked the crown of her head under his chin.
For him time ceased.
“Nothing distracts, sleep won’t come, it’s the dark you see,” her voice caught on the last word then whispered, “I’m scared.”

I want truthful, honest opinions on this. It’s the beginning of a fanfiction, and I don’t know whether I should keep at it. Also writing tips will help, and be as harsh as you want. I need it.
encounter(verb): to meet someone unexpectedly
Captain James T. Kirk sighed as he stumbled down the hallway, rubbing the sore spot on his shoulder where Bones injected the cure to the strange virus that had infected the ship. The medical team had distributed the antidote in record time before Doctor McCoy had forced the entire Bridge crew at the time to end their shift early, allowing the vaccinated Gamma shift to take over. Kirk stumbled again over his own feet, before a hand wrapped itself around his forearm to keep him from falling.
"Careful, Captain. As your energy is drained, it would do you no good to fall before we reach your quarters," Spock's voice told him as they continued walking to the captain's room, his hand still wrapped around the shorter man's forearm.
"You're, right, Mr. Spock." He sighed, leaning against the wall near his door to enter the code. "I'm afraid that we will be unable to play chess tonight, as I'm-" he cut himself off as he noticed his code pad ripped apart, hanging by a couple of loose wires in the wall. He instantly stood straight and completely silent, Spock doing the same. They glanced at each other before slowly creeping into the room, both men ready for a fight.
The completely dark room took a moment to adjust to, but both could make out the sight of a figure huddled in the corner near the bed, a couple of things that had fallen off the selves surrounding it.
"Lights, sixty percent," Kirk called out, the lights coming on immediately.
A young girl, no older than eighteen, lay there glaring at them with big, red eyes through dark, thick lashes. She had tanned skin, giving her the look of someone from the Middle East. Her dark brown hair was tied away from her face, a dark line of red strands pulled together into the ponytail. She had dark freckles spotted all over her face, along with scars over her face and hands, which was the only visible skin, the rest covered by her clothes. Tight, black pants, a dark sweater of sorts covering what seemed to be a white turtleneck. All of these things were interesting, but the thing that caught the men's attention was the girl's obviously broken leg and the large cut bleeding out on her side
Kirk took a step forward to help, before a hand from Spock and a noise from the girl stopped him. She had raised her upper lip into a snarl, her sharp teeth obviously not human. The noise emitting from her was a growl, sounding like one of an animal predator. The noise didn't stop until the two men took a step back, but they didn't stop there. Kirk continued to walk him and his first officer backwards, out of the room, never taking his eyes off of the girl. When they were in the doorway, Kirk forced them to stop.
"Spock, call Doctor McCoy, tell him to bring his bag and to get over here quickly. I'll watch the girl.”
Spock nodded and ran down the hallway to follow the orders, returning a moment later to help the Captain. They continued to stare at the girl until she started to stand, wincing visibly as she did.
"Wait, don't-" Kirk took a step forward, but the girl once again started to growl. Spock put a hand on the captain's shoulder, before moving towards the girl. The growling slowly got louder, and Spock took notice of the girl's nails growing into claws.
As soon as he got close enough to touch her, the girl crouched into a fighting stance and tilted her head, watching him intently. Spock reached a hand forward, and she lunged at him.
Bones finally entered, going wide eye at the sight of Spock wrestling with a young girl. "Jim! What the hell-"
"Not the time, Bones! You got a hypo to get her sedated?!" Kirk yelled at him as he watched Spock and the girl. She obviously wasn't human, as Spock was struggling to hold her down, even with the Vulcan strength that he possessed.
Bones grabbed a hypo out of his pack, quickly approaching the two. "Hold her down Spock, just...keep...her...still..." he muttered, pressing the hypo into her neck as she slowly calmed down, before slumping on the ground. Spock finally got up and Kirk approached the group, bending down to examine the girl.
“Bones, I’ll get her to sickbay. Spock-”
"You're gonna do nothing of the sort, Spock here can take her to the sickbay. You need rest, and if you don't I'm going to inject you with what I injected in her," Bones commanded, leaving the room and gesturing for Spock to follow with the girl.
"The doctor is right, Captain. You should rest. I will take the young girl to the sickbay, and then I will take my rest in my quarters. Good night, Captain," Spock said before picking up the girl gently and following Bones. Kirk sighed before deciding he might as well do as they say. As soon as he's up, he'll check on the girl.

*

The morning had come, and Kirk found himself in the sickbay, sitting beside the girl. Bones had fixed her leg and the gash in her side, and as she slept she looked younger than she was. Kirk was right with his first guess, the medical scans showed that she was under eighteen, but over fifteen, female, and half human. Everything else was a mystery. Her past, her name, the other half of her species. Kirk was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Spock take a seat right next to him.
"Our shift will begin soon. I am certain that the girl will be alright, Captain. Doctor McCoy gave her the cure, and her injures have been healed," he stated, his hands still in his lap. Kirk sighed and leaned back, about to speak, Bones cutting him off.
“Her vitals are off the charts. Runs hotter than you, Spock, and I can only hope that that’s due to her half we don’t know. She woke up sometime in the night, Jim. I had injected her with the antidote earlier, and when she awoke all she did was stare at me. I gave her some food, light stuff. Soup. She inhaled it like I was gonna take it from her before passing back out."
"Food is food," a voice chimed in.
Kirk stared at the girl slowly sat up, not meeting any of the men’s eyes other than Spock’s. Her back was ramrod straight as she spoke. "Du nam-tor Vuhlkansu." It wasn't a question. Kirk glanced at Spock, who had quirked up an eyebrow in very well concealed surprise.
"Ha, nash-veh Vuhlkansu. Uf tor du stariben nash?"
"Wuh Vuhlkansu ha-tor k' nash-veh, au saven-tor nash-veh." She avoided Kirk's and Bone's eyes, keeping hers focused on Spock.
"You speak Vulcan impressively. Whoever taught you taught you well," Spock said in Standard, allowing the two human men to understand the conversation.
"Thanks, I guess. Listen, I don’t want any trouble. I just needed a ride. At the next space port or civilization with transportation that you arrive at, I’ll be out of your hair," she said, staring at Kirk right in the eye. Authoritative hazel stared into fiery red.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. You're a stowaway, but if you give us some information, we can help you out. Just, simple things, like your name-"
"Call me El.”
"-your family,-"
"Don't have one,” she stated keeping her nonchalant tone.
"or, what species you are."
The girl snorted. "'Fraid I don't have an answer for that one, buddy. Don't know myself."
Kirk sighed and leaned forward slightly. “Well, El, how’s your leg? And your side?”
El furrowed her brow, tilting her head in thought. “It’s….alright, I guess. Not hurting anymore.” She grinned, turning to Bones. “But can I have a lollipop? Isn’t that something that earth doctors do, Bonsey?”
"Yeah, yeah. Hold your stowaway ass right here." Bones waved her away, heading into the second part of the sickbay.
"How do you know his nickname?" Kirk questioned, nodding towards the other room.
El sighed. "I've been on this ship a month, Kirk. I know everyone here, and the name of this beauty," she paused, looking both him and Spock up and down. "Gotta say, pretty impressed with the scraps you get yourself in and out of."
"Miss El, am I correct in assuming that you arrived at the ship two point five three months ago, when we had docked at the starbase Ares II?" Spock cut in, cocking his head slightly to the side.
El nodded. “Was stuck on that planet for a bit when I saw your ship, and the rest is history. Also, no ‘Miss El’. I don’t like it, just call me El.”
“How did you find yourself on that planet, El?”
El just shrugged in answer, crossing her arms.
“El, how did you get injured?” Kirk asked after a moment of silence.
El mumbled incoherently.
"Would you please repeat that, El?"
She mumbled again, and yet again Kirk asked her to repeat it.
Kirk glanced from her hand back to her face. "Fine. I won't tell. Captain's honor," he smiled tersely, putting his hand over his heart. "Spock, we need your honor too."
Spock raised a brow, before his shoulders slightly loosened in the form of a sigh. "I won't tell as well, El. Vulcan honor." He put his hand over his heart. El copied him, nodding at their promise.
"Good. Now, where's my-"
Bones had returned, a red lollipop in his hand. El took it from him- "perfect timing, Bonsey-" and popped it in her mouth before taking it out. "Look, I hate sickbays. Not your fault doc, just not a fan of them. I'm useful. I can fix things, help out some places, whatever you need. Or, if you want, I'll-“
The boatswain's whistle of the ships communications cut her off. "Captain, we are approaching the nearby planet now," Uhura's voice called out of it.
Kirk looked trouble, glancing back at the girl. "Listen, I'll stick by you, or Spock's side for now. I can earn my freedom, and I know enough about how nice it is to not abuse it. Just let me outta here, and I'll be good," she pleaded, both eyebrows raised.
"It would be the most logical thing to do, Captain. We may ‘keep an eye on her,’ as you humans say, and decide on what we must do with her.”
Kirk sighed. "Fine. No funny business, and you'll stick by me for now. Got it?" He said, standing.
“Roger that! No trouble caused, promise. It’ll be like you never found me.”
Kirk sighed and nodded. "Okay. But, again, you need to be by me or Mr. Spock at all times."
"Yes, sir!" The girl saluted and launched herself off of the bed, landing gracefully on her feet. "But first, could I have my clothes back? I'm not one for..this." She pulled at the clothes she was wearing, something akin to a baggy, blag jumpsuit.
Christine Chapel walked in as soon as she finished saying that, the mended clothes of the young girl folded neatly in her hand. "Captain, Dr. McCoy told me to bring these clothes for the girl..." she trailed off, seeing her standing.
"Thanks, blondie. Talk about good timing," she said, taking the clothes with a smirk. The four watched as she dropped the clothes on the bed, holding up her sweater. She turned it around, before nodding in satisfaction. “You guys only mended it, right? Didn’t touch anything in it?”
Bones raised an eyebrow and crossed his hands behind his back. “Is there stuff in it?”
“Nah,” she stated, undoing the buttons on the jumpsuit. “I’m sure you’ve already noticed that I run at a high temperature. This sweater has internal heaters, cause without ‘em I get super uncomfy. Can’t control my damp heat, so I gotta run ‘em high.” She stepped out of her jumpsuit, leaving her in her undergarments.
All four of the occupants to averted their eyes elsewhere as she dressed. She handed the rumple jumpsuit back to Bones, who took it with a glare. She simply winked at him.
"Thanks, guys. Pretty good at this healing stuff.”
Kirk and Spock calmly walked out of the door, El following them to the side. "Just so you know, you might want to inform Scotty that the food replicator thingy is broken. I fixed it, but it's kinda hanging on the edge," she said calmly, shoving the lollipop in her mouth.
Kirk's eyes widened in surprise, and he and Spock shared a glance. "Thank you. You didn't have to-"
"I wanted to." She bit into the candy with a loud crunch. "I've been on ship after ship and I've never seen a beauty like this one. You should be proud of yourself, Captain. I would. I also wouldn't want anything to happen to the crew of a beautiful ship like this, 'cause who would take care of her?"
Kirk softly smiled at her, puffing out his chest in pride. "Thank you. She is a truly beautiful ship, and I'm lucky to have her."
When they reached the ship’s lift, El stuttered for a second as the two men entered and grabbed the handles.
“No other way to get to the bridge?”
Spock shook his head.
El sighed, as she stuff the now empty lollipop stick in a small pocket on the side of her sweater. “Listen, I don’t do…lifts. Bad experience. I’m gonna need to ask you something, if you could.”
“What do you need?” Kirk tilted his head, smiling confusedly.
“A lift on one of your guy’s back.”
There was silence as the two processed the request, before El sighed. “Look, it’s dumb, I know, and I guess I can just try. You know what, never mind, I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it.” She took a step forward, grimacing as she grabbed a handle, her knuckles turning pale aw she gripped it as hard as she could.
“El.” Kirk let go of the handle and turned his back towards her. Not a moment later he felt her weight as she wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his torso. A face buried itself into his shoulder.
“Thanks,” came her muffled reply.
Kirk just grabbed the handle and called out, “Bridge.” He met Spock’s gaze, who had a small upturn of the lips.
“El, next time I suggest that I will carry you, as I have three times more the strength than the average human.”
El just turned her head to the sighed and nodded, before shoving her face back in Kirk’s shoulder. “I hate lifts,” she muttered. Both men caught it, and could only wonder what had happened that caused her to despise something every ship had.

Star Trek: Alternate Original Series/Complete/Chapters: 2 Words: 38,704
'You feel nothing! It must not even compute for you! You never loved her!'
He regrets the words the moment they come out of his mouth. But that other, older Spock said that he needed to get command of the ship, and to do so, must get his younger counterpart to acknowledge his emotions. Spock is not the first Vulcan Jim has had dealings with, and he can think of few things that would get T’pri as riled up as quickly as insinuating that she doesn’t love him.
He gambles that Spock is the same about his mother, and it pays off.
(Or, the one where Jim has a Vulcan daughter, and it leads to all sorts of emotions.)
update: now with a chapter two from Spock’s perspective!
//
This fic combines so many of my favorite tropes and plot points in Star Trek AOS fics: Jim’s experience on Tarsus IV, Jim with a personal connection to Vulcan, and references to Star Trek TOS episodes. It’s written in a really neat format that carries the story perfectly–you have context for the present plot presented via flashbacks and memories interspersed between scenes.

Line Without Hook- Spock x OC
Lol not me disappearing the fuck off Tumblr, just to come back and post fanfiction.
NOTE: This is an updated rewritten version of the first chapter :)
Read on FF.NET: Read on AO3
CHAPTER 2
Summary: Six years ago, Yeoman Serena Zuriñe embarrassed herself by giving a drunken confession to her mentor, none other than one Commander Spock. Now she finds herself face to face with the Vulcan man she had planned on avoiding the rest of her life. What could possibly go wrong? slow burn. Fake marriage. Spock/OC
Chapter 1:
In precisely seventeen minutes, the USS Enterprise would be docking. Serena almost felt nauseous enough to show it. She had done her research on the ship well enough to know that her past would be coming up to haunt her. She dusted off her blue uniform dress and adjusted her black hair to hide her Vulcan ears.
“Nervous?” the human woman next to her asked.
“Annaleigh, that is illogical,” Serena replied.
“I’d be nervous too if my hunky advisor turned into my hunky commanding officer,” Annaleigh said.
Serena’s lip twitched. “You do not even think Commander Spock is attractive.”
“No, but you do. And so does a good quarter of the galaxy.”
“Hush you,” Serena said.
“Nah. Besides, I want to say hello to my Uncle Scotty, and you’re my only way on the ship.”
Serena raised a brow and looked at the thirty-year-old woman next to her. “That is a blatant lie. You are desperate to see the medical facilities.”
Annaleigh gasped in false shock, putting a hand over her chest. “Serena Zuriñe, take that back!”
“I fail to see how I can and should retract my statement when it is both true and already spoken.”
“You Vulcan witch!” Annaleigh accused with a laugh.
“You are as lively as ever.” Serena rolled her eyes.
“And you’re so tense. Listen, I know you embarrassed yourself so hard your human instincts kicked in, but I am sure the dude does not care.”
“Your grammar is atrocious.”
“There’s my computer!”
Serena rolled her eyes, watching the landing bay once more from the hanger. At twenty-eight, she still felt like a child, barely navigating through murky waters and mud. She was grateful for her friend’s presence; Annaleigh’s presence was the only thing that kept her from being with her thoughts for too long.
“Hey, Sere?” Annaleigh asked after a few minutes.
“Yes, Anna?” Serena replied, still watching the docking bay.
“Did you ever see Commander Spock Shirtless?” Annaleigh asked with a wolfish grin.
“I should nerve pinch you where you stand.”
“That’s not a no.”
“It’s not a yes either.”
Serena wondered if giving Annaleigh a light nerve pinch would ease their nerves. Still, she knew what Annaleigh was doing. She was trying to ease her nerves about seeing Commander Spock again. Of course, Annaleigh was—probably—the only person, aside from herself and said commander, who knew her embarrassing history with Spock.
Annaleigh was also the only person who understood why Serena had done what she did. And Serena would be grateful for that.
“Now docking. USS Enterprise. Docking station twenty-two.”
Serena looked up at the speaker before looking at Annaleigh. “Time to report to the Captain.” She said.
“I’ll go with you.”
Serena nodded and began walking to docking station twenty-two.
****
Spock watched the docking station with intensity, glancing down at his PADD and reading the name on it over and over again. He wondered what had happened to the young woman whose file he was looking through.
She looked the same, less mousy and more like a proud Vulcan woman. He let out a breath and looked over the picture again. She still had those piercing blue eyes and that perfectly human face and redness. Yet her ears gave away her heritage.
“She’s pretty,” Jim commented. “Is she Vulcan?”
“Yes,” Spock replied blankly.
“What do you think, Spock, a Vulcan girl like her and a cad like me.”
“I think she’d have your head on a platter.” He replied briskly.
Jim looked at Spock curiously.  Spock ignored the look, mentally centering himself. He could not let his emotions get the better of him.
“Let me see her file,” Jim said, taking the PADD out of Spock’s hand.
Spock felt a wave of irritation flow through him as he watched Jim look through the PADD. Jim’s brow raised, and he glanced back at Spock.
“It says you were her primary advisor through her first four years in Starfleet Academy,” Jim said.
“Yes,” Spock confirmed.
“Interesting.” Jim handed the PADD back to Spock. “I look forward to meeting your student.”
“She is a friend, Sir.” Spock corrected.
***
Serena sat in the lobby of the docking bay. Annaleigh was sitting right across the way from her. They stared silently at each other as they waited for the announcement that the crew had officially landed.
Serena could feel the dread building in her as the intercom blasted again.
“All Personnel Landed. All Personnel Landed. Report for Launch at 1500 hours.” the intercom announcer said.
Serena stood, taking another deep breath. “Anna, let's go find your uncle.”
“Gonna avoid commander hot stuff?”
“Like the plague.”
Annaleigh laughed and nodded. “I'm fairly certain I know where we can find him.”
“Lead the way.” Serena nodded as she waited for Annaleigh to stand.
***
Serena was all too grateful when they found Annaleigh’s uncle. Scotty was just as lively as Annaleigh. The two began to chat animatedly as soon as they saw each other.
“Scotty!” A blonde woman with a red uniform dress called.
“Janice!” Scotty called, waving her over. “Come meet my niece and her friend.”
The woman—Janice— walked over. “Hello, ladies!” She greeted.
“Janice, this is my niece Annaleigh. She’s a doctor.” He said proudly before looking at Serena. “And this is Serena. A poison specialist.”
“A pleasure!” Janice stuck out her hand.
“Serena’s part Vulcan, so she doesn’t touch people.” Annaliegh, as she took Janice’s hand.
“Oh, like Mr. Spock!” Janice gave an understanding nod.
“He’ll be happy to have someone on his level.” Scotty teased.
Serena nodded awkwardly.
“Wait. You’re the poison expert that is going to be joining us!” Janice looked at Serena excitedly.
“Yes. I will be boarding when it is time for lift-off.” Serena confirmed, feeling anxious again. The Enterprise was large; she could communicate by holo-texts for the rest of the voyage and never see Spock. Yes, that would be perfect.
“I want to meet this, Mr. Spock!” Annaleigh said. “And Captain Kirk. And Dr. McCoy. Those three are the trifecta of popularity right now, and frankly, the other girls will be disappointed if I come back from dropping off our precious Vulcan without having met the men.”
“Annaleigh, I am sure they are perhaps busy. It would be best to leave them be.” Serena said, shooting a glare at Annaleigh.
“Oh, they’re waiting on me,” Scotty said. “You ladies can follow me!”
Serena’s glare got harsher as Annaleigh shot her a winning grin. “I suppose this is acceptable. Thank you for your kindness.”
Scotty laughed. “Any time. If you need anything, let me know! Any friend of my Annie is a friend of mine.” He told Serena.
“Thank you, Mr. Scotty.” Serena nodded, offering an awkward smile.
***
Spock found himself tense as he waited with Jim for Bones to show up with the Saurian Brandy he insisted on for a successful landing. Of course, the landing was successful, and the ship was operational.
He glanced at the door watching as it opened to reveal Scotty, Janice, an unfamiliar woman, and the most familiar faces.
Serena walked in last, Spock noted. His eyes traveled to her neck. He could see the slight shimmer of Vulcan rubies. He felt pleased that she kept the necklace despite their awkward state.
“Scotty! Janice!” Kirk said, snapping Spock out of his thought.
“Captain, Mr. Spock,” Scotty greeted. “This is my niece, Annaleigh Scott, and—”
“Science Officer Serena Zuriñe.” Jim finished, much to Spock’s annoyance. “Miss Zuriñe, your profile pictures do not do you justice.”
Spock smirked a bit as Serena looked at Jim with irritation. “It is for informational purposes. Logically it should serve as a way to recognize and identify me.”
“Ah, there’s that Vulcan briskness,” Jim said, shooting an almost goading glance as he walked over to Serena.
Spock stood almost immediately. “Captain.” He said tersely.
“Just going to check if Bones is coming,” Jim said innocently.
Serena moved significantly further, glancing at Spock; for a moment, whatever awkward history and six years of no contact instantly disappeared as she raised her brow and glanced at Jim before glancing back at him.
Spock shrugged.
“I won’t hesitate to nerve pinch him if he comes on to me.”
“Not if I do it first.”
“Oh, what did you two say?” Jim asked, looking at them curiously.
“Old Vulcan greeting,” Spock said quickly.
“Just saying hello.” Serena agreed.
****
Serena ignored the almost wolfish grin from Annaleigh. She glanced over at Spock, catching his gaze once again. She offered a smile before pretending to listen to Scotty.
“I hope you don’t take this the wrong way,” Janice said, looking at Serena curiously. “You smile a lot for a Vulcan.”
“That’s what I said when I met her,” Annaleigh said.
“I am only part Vulcan. Hence my livelier disposition. My father was half Vulcan; my mother was fully human.” Serena explained. “I can see why my actions cause curiosity.”
“You should see her when she cusses. She puts my ancestors to shame.” Annaleigh said with a proud look that could rival a mother’s.
Serena laughed a bit. “I will hope not to show an unprofessional disposition,” she said, bringing her hand to her necklace.
“Oh, but you’re so fun,” Annaleigh said.
“You say that until you’re on the receiving end,” Serena said.
“Bones!” The captain called, snapping the conversation to him. “Hurry up.”
“I’m a doctor, Jim. Not a track star.” the doctor called. He walked in and looked at all of them. “We’re gonna need a few more cups.”
“None for me, Leonard,” Janice said. “Nyota and Christine are waiting for me.”
“Give the Lieutenant and nurse my regards.”
Serena watched as Janice waved, looking at the captain curiously as he watched her leave. She would have thought him more serious about his earlier flirtations if the man’s gaze did not constantly shift to Janice. She assumed that perhaps that gaze was unrequited—an unfortunate feeling she was all too familiar with.
She glanced at Spock, meeting his gaze before quickly shifting her gaze back to the others, gripping her necklace.
****
“So, who are these lovely ladies?” Bones asked, causing Spock to tense up.
“Why Doctor, you’re too kind.” the human woman said, flipping her brown hair back. “I’m Annaleigh Scott. I’m this engineering genius’ niece. And this lovely lady is Serena Zuriñe, your new science officer.”
“Greetings.” Serena nodded.
“Isn’t my Serena pretty?” Annaleigh cooed. “Her Vulcan ears make her look like an elven princess.”
“You’re Vulcan?” Bones said, looking at Serena. “You’re awful lovely for a Vulcan.”
“Isn’t she?” Annaleigh nodded.
“Thank you for the backhanded compliment,” Serena said.
“My apologies. It's just. Well, you’re very pretty.”
“I know,” Serena nodded.
“Miss Zuriñe,” Spock said, deciding both he and Serena had endured enough of this strange need his friends had to flirt with her. “I have a few things I'd like to go over with you regarding the toxicology labs..”
“Of course.” She nodded, shooting him a grateful glance.
He began walking, and she followed him almost immediately.
“It seems whenever we meet, you’re usually saving me,” Serena said as soon as they were far from the others.
“It would seem so.” He nodded. “It has been six years—-”
“11 months, one week, two days, and seven hours.” She nodded.
“You still have lively acquaintances.”
“I should say the same about you.”
***
“Oh, I wouldn’t be surprised if he took her out to ravish her,” Annaleigh teased. Though she very much doubted it.
“That’ll be the day.” Dr. McCoy said with a laugh as he offered her a glass.
“Charming,” Annaleigh said with a flirtatious smile.
“Oh, I try, Miss Annaleigh.” Bones replied.
“Dr. McCoy, you’re a bit of a scoundrel, aren’t you?” She said as she took a drink. “Oh, this is good.”
“Only towards pretty ladies.” He replied with a chuckle.
“I’ve never seen him so tame.” Captain Kirk said with a laugh.
“He’ll stay tame if he knows what’s good for him.” Scotty huffed.
“Oh, Uncle, please,” Annaleigh said. “It is a great pleasure to meet the Great Captain, James Kirk, and the Good Doctor Leonard McCoy.”
“Jim is fine, Annaleigh,” Jim said.
“Bones will do, Miss Annaleigh.” Bones said with a flirtatious grin.
“The girls will be so excited to hear about this.” Annaleigh giggled.
“I hope we don’t disappoint the girls.” Jim smiled.
“I doubt it. Mind if I take a seat?”
“Not at all; I’ll escort you myself.” Bones said.
“A true gentleman,” Annaleigh said as Bones led her to the couch.
“So, Miss Annaleigh. What do you do for a living that has you hanging out with a Vulcan?” Bones asked in a teasing tone as they sat.
“She’s a doctor,” Scotty said.
“My uncle’s right,” she replied.
“We could always use more doctors on the enterprise, don’t you think, captain.” Bones asked.
“One more couldn’t hurt.” Jim laughed.
“Don’t joke with me, boys; I might take you up on that offer,” Annaleigh said.
“Well, we do have six hours.” Bones looked at Kirk with a grin
“Ay, what have I done?” Scotty muttered while Annaleigh grinned all too excitedly.
***
Serena stood awkwardly next to Spock as they watched the ship be repaired.
“I see you are a certified toxicologist,” Spock said after a moment.
“It took a bit, but yes.” She said. “Commander. That is quite a level up.”
“Someone has to keep the captain in line.” He replied. “His flirtations might get us all killed.”
Serena snorted a bit. “He sounds no better than Annaleigh.”
“She is quite a character.” Spock nodded.
“She was my roommate when I started the academy.”
“The loud one who kept experimenting with food?”
“The very one.”
“I recall you saying you were quite close.”
“She is somehow the sister and mother I never had.”
She could feel Spock’s gaze on her covered ears. “Whatever happened with your mother and step-sister.”
“They’re in jail,” she replied.
“And your ear?”
“Completely healed save for a visible scar.”
She could hear Spock hum in response.
“Does she know about the issue with your—”
“Yes. I assume your friends know about your wife.”
“Ex-wife. I rejected her about ten months ago.”
“I am sure T’Pring was ecstatic.”
“She has already remarried.”
Serena nodded, tilting her head and scratching at her neck.
“You still wear the necklace.”
“It was a gift and still precious to me.” She said.
“I do not understand why you left that morning,” Spock said. “Though I do have my theories.”
“It was shameful.” She said, looking at the floor.
“I did not think less of you. It was more hurtful to lose your friendship suddenly.”
“I did it for my own sake more than anything. It was not my wisest moment.”
Spock nodded. “It was illogical and emotion-fueled.”
“I know.” She sighed and turned to face him. “Spock, I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to apologize for.” He assured, turning to face her. She studied his face, surprised to find no disdain.
“Still. I owe you an apology for putting you in an awkward situation. And for completely disappearing. You were my friend and did not deserve any of that.”
“I still am your friend.” he corrected. “And frankly, it will be nice to have a friend who isn’t going to get themselves killed.”
“You give me too much credit.”
“I do. You have a history of being fascinated with anything that can kill you.”
“I’ve made my name off it, so I don’t think I’ve done too bad.”
“No, you have not. Your father would be proud.”
“He’d be annoyed that I’m a scientist.”
“He’d be proud all the same. You are still a member of clan V’los and you represent them well.”
She smiled, turning back to continue watching the repairs. She hoped against all hope that Annaleigh was not getting herself into trouble.

Stark Trek AOS: James T. 'Jim' Kirk, Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, Artemis Archer (OC), Captain Christopher Pike Word Count: 660 (T)W: Bar Fight, taunting, dare, uneasy flyer Request: No A/N: Sutoritaimu archive transfer
Pt.2
Sitting in a bar in Iowa with Jim, it was comfortable.  It was normal for you and Jim to spend time in this little dive bar.  What was more normal was Jim to grab another round from the bar and ‘getting lost’ also known as him forgetting to return with said drinks.  What was less common, but not entirely out of the norm, was for Jim to end up in some form of bar or fist fight.  You and Jim had grown up together and, normally, you would leave him to his own devices, especially when it came to him getting into fights, but he seemed rather intoxicated and pretty much outnumbered.  Not that any of that was stopping him from holding his ground.  Just as you finished your drink and prepared to help Jim, a deafening whistle resounded around the small bar and, after a thud from Jim hitting a table, the entire room went still.  Those involved in the bar were ordered to clear out, which they did surprisingly quickly, you walked up to Jim with his nose bloody and looked at him with a smirk, “Alright there, princess?”  Jim’s only response was to snort and roll his eyes at you.
“Y’know, when the bar tender told me who you were, I couldn’t believe it.”  The older whistle guy, Pike, said to Jim as you sipped your drink.  Then you let your attention waver, finally re-joining the conversation when you heard George Kirk be mentioned.  “He didn’t believe in ‘no win’ scenarios,” Pike was saying.  Jim’s response was to snort again and retort with “Sure learned his lesson.” Before taking a sip of his drink.  Pike just gave an exasperated laugh and gave Jim the address for where the next shuttle filled with Starfleet cadets was departing from the next day and the time of departure before leaving you both to finish your drinks.
The sound of Jim’s motorcycle felt loud in your ears the closer you both got to shuttle of Starfleet cadets.  You slid off the back of the bike and took off your helmet, placing it in the empty space under your seat and looked up to see Jim throwing his keys towards a guy who just so happened to compliment his bike and telling him to ‘keep it’.  You jogged a little to catch up with him, staying close to his side as he scoured the shuttle or two seats together, walking past people from the bar the previous night.  You were just starting to feel a little out of place being the only two people on the shuttle without a Starfleet uniform on when Jim found three empty seats and led you to them.  Just as you were about to express your concerns to Jim about being on the same flight as those he fought with, and being the only two not in Starfleet uniform, a rather scruffy looking guy was being escorted to the seat next to yours, his southern accent was distinct and grabbed your attention with his negative views and clearly hypochondriac statements.
Honestly, you were an uneasy flyer at the best of times and this guy was most definitely not helping, that didn’t stop you from taking a sip of the liquor he offered you and Jim.  When the ship started to move you automatically gripped for Jim and McCoy’s hands, not caring that you had just met the guy not even 10 minutes prior, however, you were grateful that he didn’t pull his hand away.  Jim was aware of your uneasiness at take-offs and stroked the back of your hand with his thumb reassuringly, you were extremely surprised when you noticed that McCoy was doing the same.  You looked to his hand then up to his face and was reassured by his closed eyes and the small smirk on his face.  Once the shuttle levelled out you let go of both men’s hands and relaxed a little more.

CHAPTER FIVE
Have you ever woken up from a fever dream and not really understood the entirety of what happened? Like you could remember faintly being sick and the fever but everything else is a blur. Coming too in a medbay cot, surrounded by Vulcan’s and feeling like you’d been run over is not a fun way to wake up. All I remembered was the feel of Len’s hands on my check and then the feeling of free falling. Everything else was locked away by a curtain of black. The only comfort I really had was the news that I had been one of the lucky ones. Len had been promoted to Chief Medical Officer because Puree and several other staff members were dead. Another foot to the left and I would have been just like Puree.
I was glad I didn’t remember it.
"Nell, are you sure you don't want me to get Dr. McCoy?" I had been adamant since I woke up that no one bother Len. I didn’t want to see the pain, I didn’t want to see the worry and I certainly didn’t want to see the relief.Because right now I was operating off of the blood transfusion, the sealed wounds and the haunting image of our almost kiss.I didn’t want to confront those feelings right now. Especially not since Nurse Harper had all but confirmed that Len hadn’t left her side until she was on the mend, and even then he left only to help Jim and Spock who had gone to rescue the Vulcan’s as quickly as they could before the planet had been consumed.
What’s worse, Nurse Harper hadn’t left my side. Always fretting over her, always making sure that she was okay and that her broken ankle or fractured wrist weren’t acting up. Especially since she had seen Nurse Harper rest a hand on Len’s shoulder almost in comfort. I didn’t like it, it was petty, and I knew it was because I was clinging onto hope that he felt for me what I felt for him. I would know of course If i would grow a pair, let Nurse Harper call Len over so we could talk about what had almost happened before we’d warped to the rescue. A part of me worried he would call it a mistake, so I didn’t call him over. I wouldn’t.
I also knew the only way I was going to be cleared was to give one of the battered Vulcan’s a clear bed, was if I was checked over. Apparently losing your planet and nearly being crushed was second priority to my own wounds which were mostly nonexistent now. The fatigue was still present as well as the muscle weakness, add on the broken ankle and fractured wrist and even if I wanted to get up to clear a bed and help, I wouldn’t be able to. I would be sent to the bridge to take over one of the Linguists stations. I wasn’t ready for that.
"I'm really fine Nurse Harper. Go away please." Harper gave me a sad look before moving away from my bedside. Settling myself against the bed a little more comfortably I picked up my patient Padd from the table by the bed where Harper had left it. Quickly unlocking it I thoroughly read through the medical report. Three broken bones, one broken leg, a fractured wrist, several muscle tears and a deep long laceration down my back from landing on the broken rubble from Deck 6. Not that bad compared to what it could have been, but definitely bad if I hadn’t been found when I was. I was more than grateful for the stitches and skin regrowth that had been treated on the cut.
"How you feelin' Doll?" Dropping the padd onto my bruised stomach and I flinched a little. Leonard quickly picked it up, moving it far out of my reach before settling at the end of the bed.
"McCoy, I'm fine. I promise. Don't you have other patients?"
"None that are as badly beat up as you are. Nell, I was terrified that I’d found you too late. That you were just like Puree, that I would have to tell Jim I’d failed and you were gone." Despite how touching his worry was, and how much I liked how much the thought of my death burned him (selfishly clinging onto the idea it burned because he cared for me more than a friend) I forced myself to roll my eyes.
"If I had, I'm sure you would have been fine after a while. Besides, you've got Nurse Harper and Jim’s got you and mom and our brother Goerge." Leo grabbed my hand tenderly, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Lonnie's nice enough but she doesn't have the spirit and sass my favorite girl does." I quirked an eyebrow.
"You would still have Jim, who is literally just like me when he cuts the ego off. I don't see how my passing would make a difference."
"I was talking about you Nell, you aren’t a thing like your brother, you never have been. You were the one who helped the most after my divorce and I've come to really depend on you." Blushing, I looked away trying to keep from showing how much his words meant to me.
"Get some sleep okay. When you wake up you should be healed enough to get up and walk around. I think you’re needed on the bridge anyway." With a kiss to my hairline Leonard brushed his thumb across my cheek before pushed off of her bed and walked over to Nurse Harper before leaving med bay entirely. Avoiding probing looks from the Vulcan’s gathered around in the medical space, I rolled over and attempted to get some actual rest and not the dark and dangerous unconsciousness I was plagued with only a few hours ago.
When you’re told to take a nap to feel better, you don’t expect the moment you wake up to receive news that makes you want to go on a homicidal killing spree. Which is probably why Len had dragged me into an isolated room to inform me that my brother had attempted to ‘Mutant’ and had been Vulcan nerve pinched and chucked off board. To say I was pissed was putting it mildly.
"What the hell do you mean my brother is no longer aboard McCoy!" My eyes were burning dangerously, my weight being held on my good foot didn’t deter me any as I advanced on the handsome doctor before me. Her blue eyes squinted in anger. Leonard raised his hands and surprised, clearly trying to keep me from doing anything that might potentially get me kicked off because he was now required to report any behavior not fitting a Starship.
"I mean Spock went all crazy Vulcan and sent him off the ship. Jim didn't agree with him on something and wouldn’t back down. I am supposed to go talk to him now and I was hoping you’d be calm enough to come with me so that I don't get out of hand. Now i’m not so sure that’s a good idea."
"Disagree or not, Vulcan’s run on logic Len. Logically kicking a cadet off of a starship outside of where we’re supposed to be isn’t logic. So it’s not me you need to worry about. Besides, aren’t I supposed to be headed up to the bridge anyway?" Leonard rolled his eyes but wrapped an arm around my waist supporting me as we walked out of the med bay and to the lift. Just like when we had arrived from the shuttles, it didn’t take long to reach the bridge.
Spock was wandering around looking almost lost, separated from the usual frey of the bridge activity. Len led us both over, gently releasing me to support myself so as to be taken seriously by the Vulcan acting-captain in front of us.
     "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes, Doctor. I'm aware that James Kirk is a friend of yours. Supporting me, as you did, must have been difficult."
     "Are you thanking me?"
     "I'm simply acknowledging your difficulties."
     "Permission to speak freely, sir."
     "I welcome it."
"Do you. Okay then: Are you out of your Vulcan Mind? Were you doing the logical thing? Maybe and Nell don't give me that look. the Right one? Debatable. But one thing's for damn sure- that kid doesn't know how to lose. Just isn't in his DNA. Back home we have a saying: "If you're gonna ride in the Kentucky Derby, don't leave your prize stallion in the stable."
"He's got a point, Spock. My brother has an incredibly high IQ and he thinks differently than you. He is an advantage not a disadvantage." For the first time Spock focused his dark gaze on me. Something untouchable was in his gaze, something I couldn’t make out or read.
"A curious metaphor, Doctor. As a stallion must first be broken before it can reach its potential as for what your were saying Nurse Kirk, your IQ and thought process are nearly identical to your brothers therefore even if it was needed I have you on board therefore your brother would remain unneeded." I raised an eyebrow and smirked a little. That was where he was wrong. Jim and I might have the same sense of humor, share the same level of sarcasm, and look the same but that is where our similarities differ greatly.
"Jim has the mind of a Captain, I have the mind of a Doctor. He knows the protocol and the thought process necessary to get out of touch situations. He doesn’t use it all the time but it’s there. I have the mind of a healer, a diplomat, a helper. We are different. There is a difference Captain." I didn’t stay to hear his response, it wouldn’t matter. Jim was gone, stranded on a planet alone and likely with nothing more than a communicator. If I wanted to prevent myself from landing in trouble just like him I had to watch my tone. So without the help of my best friend, I limped back through the bridge.
The pain from my wounds was beginning to peak their head up, which meant it was time to get off my feet. Still, something about Spock, Jim and Len was bothering me. Something I should have seen but wasn’t. Whatever it was, I hoped it wasn’t important.

Fic Writer Interview
Tumblr media
So I decided to snag this from @sparklepocalypse and fill it out because I'm cozy on my couch on New Year's Eve and fighting off a nap like a grumpy toddler. I'm actually fairly certain I've done this one before, now that I think about it, but oh well. The numbers are different since last time, so...
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
60, apparently! 61 being posted later today!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
178,579
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ghosts
Do we still have forever
Volume Control
Retaliation
Modification to the map of you
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond to each and every comment that I receive. I try very hard to leave a personalized message for each person, but no matter what, even if it's just a "thank you," I will always respond! Even if it takes me some time!
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
To this day, the angstiest ending is Darkest before the dawn, which ends with hope, even if it doesn't end with an actual resolution. It's during canon, so the reader know what happens next.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
I think my most recent Christmas fic, Oh what a laugh it would have been, has probably now overtaken one of my previous fics for overall happiest ending!
7. Do you write crossovers?
I haven't yet, but I'm absolutely open to it given the write parameters!
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I haven't yet, and I hope I never do, although I know that the internet can be a wild place.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
If you'd asked me back in July of this year, I would have said that I primarily write fade to black. Since then, I've written ridiculous amounts of smut. I'm still learning about various kinks I'd like to write about, because I don't want to just write without knowledge of the act itself, but I'm wading into the smut-verse now. I'd say the water's up to my knees, at this point. Got a ways to go.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, not that I've been made aware of, but I think it would be so neat.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't but catch me and @thinkof-england cowriting something amazing now that the new year has arrived.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Y'all are gonna need to sit down for this. I don't think you're ready. Deep breath in. Hold it. Now let it out slowly. Calm your mind. Are you ready? Okay because I know this is going to come as a shock to you when I say that it's FirstPrince.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
A Star Trek fic with Jim Kirk x an OC. I started it back in the spring and then RWRB happened and now it's just languishing away in my docs at just shy of 18,000 words.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told that I have realistic dialogue, so I'll count that as a strength. I also think I'm pretty skilled at metaphors. Love a good metaphor.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
The description of surroundings, including clothing and scenery. I feel like I don't do enough of this sometimes, and I'm trying to better at painting a proper picture.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I've done so! Lots and lots of research and consultation with native speakers to confirm accuracy.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Pirates of the Caribbean, apparently.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
There isn't really one out there. I'm super content with the permanent campsite I've built in FP land. Hopefully I'm allowed to hang out there for quite some time.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
How am I supposed to pick a favorite out over 60 fics?!
I suppose if I absolutely HAD to pick right now, right this second, I'd say Ghosts, because the prompt for it as my first ever reader-submitted prompt on a comment from another fic. The reader enjoyed my fic so much that they asked if I'd write another, and Ghosts it what came of that interaction. I loved writing it and sharing it not just with that reader but with the fandom as a whole.
Gonna post my tag list for anyone who wants to participate!

Heads Up 7 Up
I was tagged by the lovely @chickensarentcheap and @themaradaniels
Would love to hear from (in other words soft tagging) @emilie786 @myenterpriseisparked @hammerbacks @darknightfrombeyond @bardic-tales
From the upcoming chapter of Trust Love One More Time to be posted this afternoon:
After an eye roll Cara continued her conversation with the ensign, “And he included an antipasti for the il ragazzino prodigio of Starfleet.”
“Wonder boy?” McCoy called out.
“So you speak Italian?” she shot back. “And who was just grousing about a lack of Federation standard and needing a universal translator?”
“Italian is the language of …” at the last second McCoy pivoted away from uttering amore and substituted, “Italians.”
Three pairs of eyes stared at him.
The physician busied himself with carefully peeling anchovies off his pizza.
“Want a scalpel?” Nick asked.

My Spidey mail is back open (asks) if anyone wants to request any artworks they want me to do. I don't charge anything bc I just genuinely enjoy drawing. Asks can also be used for RP 🧑🏻‍🏭
Hi I'm Cas but most of my friends either call me red, patch, spider man or toe fungus. My pronouns are he/they, I'm an intj (5w6 Sanguine-Melancholic), Indigenous aus and Irish :) demi + biromantic (mostly mlm leaning) ♋♏♓I mostly post multifandom content, waffle about what's on my brain and support creators and mutuals in the ways that I can. I also post bits of my writing and art here AND the MANY silly playlists I make on YouTube. I also rp my spidersona Mer and Their husband ponderosa.
To gauge my personality easier, I relate deeply with the following characters: Cicero, Miguel O'Hara, Sasuke Uchiha, Dustfinger, Pearl, Steven, Vilkas, Web Slinger (Patrick O'Hara/Ponderosa parker), Spider Noir, Guillermo, little misfortune & Jim Hawkins.
To gauge even better, characters my friends say I'm like: Miguel O'Hara, Kaine (nier replicant), Darby (murder at the end of the world), Eddie Brock, Tim the enchanter, nappa (dbz parody), Patrick O'Hara (web slinger) & Bruno (Encanto).
Characters I would say I relate to the most are definitely Cicero and Miguel though. Like in a gothic mirror being held up to me kinda way.
You may see the name 'todd' (@toddwest69) pop up a lot in my posts, he's my best friend. Characters I often compare him to are: Peter B Parker, The Spot, Majima, Deadpool & Loki. He's an intp but mf acts like an entp. His big 3 are ♏♓♌.
Some of my many interests that you can expect to see me posting about include: Skyrim (and tes in general), Spider-Man, both marvel and DC, the dark crystal, goth stuff, memes, video games (red dead redemption, Minecraft, ESO and we happy few are the few of MANY), psychology, MBTI, astrology(mainly for the fun of it I don't really deeply believe in it), artists I love, comics, literature I enjoy, the occasional politics, trans stuff aaannddd music stuff because I love music.
Ocs (please don't steal them or trace my art of them): Mer Osborn (and his alternate Mer G Osborn), Noah O'hara, Kirk Connelly (and his alternate Kirkpool), Pat B O'Hara (an alternate of Marvel's web slinger), Nadia Osborn, Peter N Taylor, Nelly Hlaalu, Styx Winterborn, Sil Hlaalu, Morphel Greylock, Ferrinar Greylock, Thanatos Aretino, Una gro shub, Achilles Honeyed tongue, Seldrine, Fleenwrake, Ravenous, Morwynnlo, Aephig & Cornelius.
Ships I love and am feral for (mostly crackships): Sasusaku, tempest X Miguel, Miguel X Peter B (and MJ), Miguel X Jessica drew, Cicero X the listener ships go hard, mild fan of skano bc of moots getting me into mk, Gwen X Miles, Farengar X the dragon stone of bleak falls barrow, jarl ballin X ireleth 🤌🏻 Skully X Mulder, guillermo X nandoor, Harley Quinn X poison ivy, Deadpool X Spider man.

I try to keep my page as safe for all ages as I possibly can but I am prone to spouting my mind freely without thinking on here, I do also try to use trigger warnings/ warnings in general when I'm venting about topics or writing about things that may be traumatic or inappropriate for some age groups.
Things I believe in/support before you hit follow: Land back, BLM, the freeing of Palestine, Ukraine and the congo (+ any other countries being oppressed), Trans and LGBTQ+ rights, Intersectional feminism, Equity, general leftism although I'm not overboard about it, healthy masculinity, the idea that you can do what you want when you want as long as it isn't actually harming anyone and makes you happy.
I hope you enjoy my page and find some semblance of entertainment from it.
