Would I be weird for making a prototype sketch of an idea I have for a jellycat plush? Would I be even weirder if I emailed it to jellycat themselves?

#listen. I'm not looking to do this to get money if they were to make the design (not that it wouldn't be nice) #I literally just want to see my idea become real #I think at the most I'd ask to receive a free plush that'd be inspired from my design or maybe ask for the prototype of the plush #even then I don't think I'd go that far even tho it'd be nice #I just want to see this become real #for anybody curious I want jellycat to add to their line of element/sitting dragons #yknow the moonlight dragon the forest dragon and the ruby dragon. those guys #I'm dying for them to make a sky dragon to go with the set #and/or an ice dragon. but I'm more focused on the sky dragon #I have a clear vision of it on my head #ik I've spoken about it before #I just really love this line of dragons and would be excited to see more in a similar style #a sunlight dragon to go with the moonlight dragon would be cool too #don't mind me Im just fixated on this idea rn #if I do create a sketch for a prototype I'll post it here first to gauge others reactions #before deciding if I'd legitimately want to send to to jellycat #not that I think they'd actually use it or even look at it. Im sure they get tons of fan ideas submitted to them #but it might be fun to try yknow? #even tho Im literally not seeking anything for doing it. I just want it to be real and official #I could commission something to replicate my vision but it wouldn't be the same at all #I need there to be silver embroidery used. the faux white leather for the horns. a perfectly shaped snooter. #idk if anybody but jellycat themselves could fulfill my vision #unless I could find somebody who's really good at mimicking their style #I doubt I'll ever look into it tho #viti shoosh

Corrigendum

To avoid a Plushgate in this very police-minded environment, I looked again. And noticed the toy's nose was pink:

... whereas the Jellycat's leopard is brown. Plus it looks like a tiger, upon further inspection, #silly me.

Still, not the WWF's official plushie (and thank you again, @luhafraser - you immediately solved the Panda case and I wasn't expecting any less from you! Brava!).

This is WWF's official tiger plushie, since Bengal tigers are, indeed, endangered species:

Not the same at all. And yes, I have been looking and looking and looking - no stone unturned, if at all possible -, even at the Fund's vintage models, because that toy surely looked uh.. preloved (LOL). Nope, nothing of the sort.

Jellycat Bashful Thylacine… but not really! This isn’t an official Jellycat, but a custom plush I made in April 2023 by heavily modifying a bashful golden bunny. I did my best to make it look as close to official as I could!

I would absolutely love if Jellycat produced a thylacine for real, but until then, this one will do!

Just in case you can’t believe it’s not a real Jellycat, here are a couple of WIP photos!

No walkthrough this time because it was very experimental and messy and honestly a little graphic lol.

Haven’t decided which herb or spice to name this one after yet!

hi! if it wouldn't be a hassle, could you give me some recs on some good highland cow plushies? (good is subjective - just whatever ones you think look cute!)

good request!!! yes of course :) i tried to keep it to currently available, non-overpriced plush. there are some other ones like jellycat’s highland cows but they are discontinued and super expensive secondhand.

one of my absolute favorites is douglas’ Wallace Dlux highland cow, the dlux line is super well made and large and soft!

Living Nature makes a very cute smooth one (L) and fluffy one with sound (R):

honorable mentions to douglas scottie highland cow and the aurora miyoni highland cow, the latter of which always looks better in real photos and not in the official product photos!

Bought January 24 in a closing down sale. I actually wanted him for Christmas but didn’t ask for him in the end, so when I saw him in the sale I was like “hell yeah £5 off”. He’s so silly and cute. Bird plushies go hard

Maple - Wrendale Designs Fox

Bought April 2023. Honestly it was love at first sight with her. She’s really soft and has got a lil pudgy tummy. Also her fur actually looks like the artists, Hannah Dale’s, art style?? If you know who I’m talking about then you’ll know what I mean. My fave fox related item, and I have a lot of fox things lmao (also her name is officially Autumn but like that’s my cats name, it’s gonna get confusing, so I call her maple)

Sebastian - JellyCat Bashful Tiger (Medium)

Bought June 2022 as a reward for finishing my A Levels. He’s usually the plush I take with me on holiday to sleep with, since Cookie Dough is a bit too big. He’s very soft and I love his long tail. A handsome boy :)

BASTARD aka Toon Link Plush (Wind Waker HD edition)

The absolute creature of creatures. A Christmas present from 2022. His peak moment was when I put the tip of my pride flag under his tunic and carried him around at the local Pride Parade. I hate him, I want to cherish him. Also my cat hates him for some reason it’s so funny

KWEEBLY - JellyCat Fabulous Fruit Kiwi

The smallest here, but he’s had the biggest impact on my life. I bought him on a whim around the 28th August 2021 and he proceeded to be the biggest comfort I could have ever asked for. I carried him around in my bag for most of Year 13 when my mental health hit rock bottom. He’s been squeezed, thrown at walls, bitten etc etc but I love him dearly. I don’t need his assistance as much now, as I’m in a better place, but he still sits in my bag just in case. Any of my irls mutuals on here know the absolute icon that is Kweebly, dude was a mini celebrity in the sixth form common room. Also my acnh island is named after him

I love my plushies smh and obviously I have more but these are the ones I usually cuddle or take with me to places

Jellycat Autumn/Winter Collection 2022

Hey fellow Jellycat enthusiasts! It’s no secret that the new collection has been released by stockists as of yesterday. We probably won’t get an official catalogue on the Jellycat website until September/October, so I did everyone a favor and put together a catalogue myself using Google Slides! Now no one has to scroll through blurry photos! These photos are not blurred and have the names for each design listed! I have also included a few IRL and fun catalogue photos at the end of the slideshow.

Knox Bear captured my heart the moment I saw him, he will definitely join my Jellycat family when he’s available.

Pongo Orangutan has always been one of my favorite designs, but I saw him in a store one time and his tummy was WAY too stiff. When I saw they were releasing a Huge Pongo, my hopes went up a bit, though I won’t buy him unless I see him in a store and can feel his tummy before buying him. 

Bashful Mineral Blue Bunny caught my eye; what a beautiful blue! I will be adding this lovely bunny to my bunny family!

Little Tiger is SO cute. I probably wouldn’t cuddle him bc of texture and size, but he’s a tiger so I’m very tempted. His face is very bear like too.

That’s the whole comic pile. But there’s a twist!

Regrettably, I also fell in love with the precious menace. So much so I’ve wanted an evil little bat bastard (batstard) of my own to hug and/or throttle. But looking up the usual bat plush options only gives you choices between hyper-realistic, overdone edgelord Hot Topicish, or boring emoji-looking versions. Nothing that looked like the sweetly sinister little Count Batcula.

Except for one.

And guess who came in the mail the other day?

He’s real! And very soft, cuddly, and well-made (for an unholy undead terror of the night). 

I know it’s probably silly to add something like this to the Dracula Daily post pile in the midst of all the horror, tragedy, and literary meta, but if anyone else out there wants a wee malicious flying bloodsucking jerk of their own that’s like the conniving cutie of the above comics, this is the closest lookalike around: the Bewitching Bat Plush by Jellycat. The official website is currently sold out, but I got mine from Little here.

Piper’s 5 Picks for Agere Gear

if you’re an age/pet regressor, you’ve probably searched [online] stores for the things you like and may or may not have gotten what you wanted. here are my personal picks for agere and petre gear from plushies to stationary.

5. Target

I could have chosen pretty much any other retail store but I instead chose this one in particular cause of course I did (maybe it’s the overall aesthetic and nostalgic feeling I get when I enter the place…) Anyways, there are some adorable animal based security blankets and some teethers, my favorite one is a mushroom pal teether.

4. Hot Topic

again, another questionable place to get agere gear but bear with me. this store has practically any fandom related thing you’re into, including tons of sanrio and studio ghibli merch. as i’m typing this post, hot topic has tons of back to school stuff like backpacks and stationary.

3. Marshall’s

marshall’s has a whole lot of cute stationary stuff, which is where i got my agere journal and glitter pens. there’s also some soft dog toys for puppy regressors, I think the best ones in my opinion are the halloween themed stuffies.

2. Amazon

Pretty self explanatory. You can find anything agere related. You can even find official pages from Build a Bear and Jellycat!

1. Etsy

I’ve never used Etsy, but you can find fellow regressors who sell things like customized pacis and weighted stuffies. It’s good to support small artists, especially other kiddos n critters like you.

An honorable mention goes to Petco. The reason is because there are lots of cute sensory based plushies for pups.

The Jellycat Diner at FAO Schwarz NYC is now officially open!

I am so excited about this and my biggest wish is to visit with my best friend @fortheloveofjellycats!

As seen in the pictures, you will get to choose one of the Jellycat Amuseable Fast Foods (Burger, Taco, Slice Of Pizza and Hot Dog) which you can then personalize with the help of a diner staff member. Finally, you will receive special goodies including but not limited to: An enamel pin, a sticker sheet and special diner-style packaging. I know this may sound silly to lots of people but I am super excited about this and couldn't wait to share it with you. This is only a preview and I'm sure many more surprises await.

And if you're worried you won't get there in time to visit, it was confirmed by the CEO that it will remain there until at least the holidays and even better, he said it was his understanding that it is here to stay!

WWF it is

Just watched S live from GLA (Marple got it wrong again, I can't believe it, this is beyond disappointing, what happened? how could that be?), in conversation with Dr. Advani from the WWF and I found it flawless.

I especially loved to hear all the good things Dr. Advani had to say about S and the MPC - they sounded completely organic, not perfunctory at all.

Who is Dr. Advani, you might ask?

Born in Kenya, educated in Texas. WWF's Senior Director for Wildlife and Climate Resilience. 10 years experience at the charity's HQ in DC.

Not exactly a joker. But sure, let the Social Zeroes Chorus hate away - nothing will deter those women. Nothing.

Still, this is not the most interesting detail I spotted in this live. Because before S appeared, we met these guys, nonchalantly sitting on a couch, in GLA:

I thought they were the WWF's official plushies. I mean the panda must be and I should know - and yet, I (the Panda Freak) am not sure at all.

Panda's little friend is not a tiger, as I thought mindlessly. It's a leopard. Mind you, not the Fund's official plush either.
