Sometimes I think about how I first watched JatP once, loved it, played the soundtrack on repeat, but was mostly "normal" about it (what even is normal?).

And then I rewatched it because another show's season ended on a HORRIBLE cliffhanger and I needed a reset (prior to this I never really ever rewatched anything).

And THEN, sometime later, I got hooked on another show and was watching it on repeat a concerning amount so I arranged a JatP watch party with some friends so I could disrupt the obsession and... well, now here we are.

BTTMW2 Recap - Day 1:

Sorry if you are following me and were there too. Now you have to endure this again.

JATP / JATP cast:

I overheard Kenny saying that there was sth planned for today's panel. However, the panel didn't happen because the boys were too busy. Hopefully tomorrow. Also I can't say that's 100% true. I might have heard him wrong.

Jeremy confirmed that this was the first reunion for all four of them although he did meet Madison once in New York shortly after they filmed JATP

This cast is so incredibly nice. I thought the photos or the M&G would be awkward. But they weren't.

However it was kinda awkward/hilarious seeing Charlie and Owen's moms constantly supervising them all day. Even during the photos and the party. Charlie acting like a little child and yelling for her when he wanted to leave the party was a bonus

Fun fact: Carolynn did not know that there's a Disneyland in Paris 🤣

Even though he didn't get the role in the One Piece live action adaptation that he auditioned for, Jeremy still watches One Piece. His favorite anime is Attack on Titan. According to Carolynn, Jeremy watching anime is a regular Sunday morning thing.

For my last JATP group photo, Owen suddenly greeted me in German and I was completely confused. (Either he overheard me speaking German or Jeremy told him cause I had my 1 on 1 with him before)

Charlie was signing autographs until 9pm and then went straight to the party. He really wanted to make sure all got an autograph 🥺

Miscellanous:

Board games with the Descendants cast turned into 30 minutes of playing Jenga. I've never seen such an high tower before. It was so much fun!

Brenna called my party outfit gorgeous after I almost ran her over. (I know, she just wants to be nice but still ... 😊😍)

DreamIt has zero organisational skills. This con is such a mess. But the cast and the nice people make it worth it

Favorite Holidays: Christmas and New Years i love how crazy people go about decorations and seems like there's no end to imagination. Also it's that time of the year i have the most delicious food and share quality time with my family. And New Years's so special bc i get to celebrate with friends and usually the parties are lit.

Last Meal: A strawberry delight crepe as a 'well done' gift from me to me or not dying during my exams and finishing them all, yayyy

Last Movie Watched: me and one of my closest friends do this list of christmas movies every year bc we love christmas movies, no matter how awful and cringe they are. last night i watched 'exmas' with leighton meester and robbie amell and i was surprised that it wasn't the worst, so it's a win in my book.

Last TV Show Watched: it was this week's episode of fellow travelers. jonathan bailey and matt bomer are breaking my heart in a million little pieces, but i think it worth it?? it's so so so sad and tragic but they do such a great job portraying hawk and skippy's story.

Last Book/Fic Finished: i wanted distract myself from my daily problems so i reread 'remember me, remebering you' by amiera_saphire on ao3 last weekend.

Last Book/Fic Abandoned: i prefer the term 'hiatus'. i have a jatp fic that i never really finished and the thought of it hunts me.

Currently Reading: a very boring article on managerial finance i have to write on by friday (my last assignment of the year, yay!). i hated it, so i came here to get enough endorfins to go back to it.

Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: ships in the 1800's, also dresses of that time period so i can better my shitty description in my period fic. i only had an idea and a dream on that one.

Favorite Online Fandom Memory: uhh i think it was back in the cursed years (2020, eww) and after i watched julie and the phantoms i found some really good people here and on twitter. our day consisted in checking every news outlet about the show and pics, videos about them. also the fics were so incredibly good!! those were fun times.

Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: arrowverse when it was good, maybe? idk but olicity had a choke on me in a concerning way. but then it went bad, so bad, and i suffered through until arrow ended and stopped watching the shows.

Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: felicity. it's mainly bc it's such an old show and bc of that, no one is really talking about it anymore, but it was my shit when i 'discovered' back in college.

Tempting Project You're Trying to Rein In/Don't Have Time For: i'll quote @cruciomione about the multi chapter fics, i feel you! one shots are better for me bc i can just write my idea down.

i've been working on a multi chapter about a second chance/lovers-to-strangers-to-lovers. i love the angst i have panned out in my head lol maybe during the break it could revisit it.

Oooo okay anon, thanks for the ask! I'm fairly new to DnD but I shall do my best!

Julie is an eladrin(elvish) wizard(she prefers sorceress though), well known throughout the land for her skills in communing with the dead. Everyone knows her by that reputation, so they visit her tower expecting lots of gothic art and black, only to be surprised by all the plants growing around the space and how light and free the space feels. Her secret to connecting with the dead is to offer them a taste of life through her space and powerful aura.

Luke is a human bard, because of course he is. He met Julie while on a personal quest to 'find his soul' or something like that. After finishing the quest and gaining a new, magical lute, he couldn't get the bright, lively necromancer off his mind, so he went back. They became fast friends and make music together. And Luke maybe writes a lot of songs about Julie(hey he's a bard, it's his duty to praise those around him).

Reggie is a half-elf ranger. Like Luke, he first met Julie while on an adventure. He was assisting another party at the time. But they didn't appreciate his help and expertise and cast him off as soon as he was no longer of use. Alone and wounded, he found his way back to the only sanctuary he'd found on the journey: A tower that balanced between life and death. Julie nursed him back to health and they two became close during his recovery. He still adventures a lot, he's got a fair amount of wanderlust, but the tower and those who live there have become his home.

Alex and Willie found the tower while fleeing a mob that was determined to destroy their 'abominable' union. To be fair, an elven druid and a changeling rogue aren't exactly a common combination. However, the two cared deeply for each other and were willing to risk the wrath of their families to be together. Julie granted them shelter and sent their pursuers off in the wrong direction. The two stayed in the tower for a few weeks, then began constructing their own home nearby. They have a little cottage just a few minutes away from Julie's tower. They also adopted a baby griffin they found. It was hurt and alone, what else were they supposed to do?

Flynn is a human artificer who befriended Julie before she moved out into the middle of the woods. She comes by regularly to swap stories and hang out with her best friend. She is endlessly amused by all the strays Julie keeps collecting. But also she and Willie get along really well, and he starts teaching her some fancy combat stuff. It's not uncommon to come into Julie's clearing to see the pair of them sparring in the open space. Often Julie and Alex are in the garden nearby, working on the plants and chatting and watching them.

This was so fun!!! I'm way too invested in this AU now. I hope that was what you wanted, I... have no idea.

the rotten four bc any way you break it down it's fascinating whether you ship them together (i do) or not (i also don't). i am full of many layers, much like an onion. particular huge shoutout to jal (i have many thoughts about jal both platonically and romantically and if i wrote them all out it would be an entire essay).

mack/lela!!! bc like. mack thinks lela is so Like That(tm) but then realizes lela is like, an actualized person! who is her own actual person! and lela realizes that about herself too!!!

cyd/shelby bc they're just sOOOOOOOOO. i cannot express how i feel about them in words. or gifs bc i can't find an hq download. what if we had the power to time travel while we were touching each other and thinking about another time but also we were both girls 👉👈🥺

barry/naldo bc like. barry knows about science and other traditionally "smart" things but naldo knows about people and they complete each other.

harry/uma bc like. they had the MOST chemistry. and i think that's compelling. he would do anything for her and tell me that's not the most romantic thing a man has ever done on the disney channel. big gomez addams “i would die for her. i would kill for her. either way what bliss” energy of him.

audrey and jay but specifically the version of them that i made up in my head that's like ‘we made out a few times at parties but now we're besties about it’. lesbian and her emotional support himbo energy (jay isn't a himbo but that's the best way i can think of to simplify that dynamic)

not supported in canon at all i believe but everything natasha does with nate and mitchie in her camp rock fics fascinates and compels me. i need to watch camp rock again and it's all bc of their fics

the hero/villain kid pairings in descendants. not even as ships i just think i want all of them to meet and talk it out. god i think about that fic i did of amber and carlos SO much and the wip one of melody and uma. curses and hexes on disney for giving uma a sibling and killing her only child complex that i write her with 💔😔

Oops I accidentally made it Floggr-verse compatible.

It wasn't often that Ray came to Reggie's place. Well, he did, but not as just Reggie's boyfriend. He was invited to all their parties and family dinners, but then he was also Julie's Dad. And he never spent the night, because they didn't want to make the others uncomfortable. (Did Reggie sometimes leave with Ray to go back to his place? Yeah, sure.)

Today was different, though. Julie was staying over at Flynn's for a Girl's Weekend. Willie and Alex were out of town for a skateboarding thing, though he'd also seen Willie on google maps trying to find the best museums to go to. Or scream in. Who knew.

And Luke had muttered something about having a great idea for a song and had locked himself into the music studio at the end of their garden late in the afternoon. He'd be fine for a few days, there was a kitchenette and a couch that pulled out into a bed and even a shower, but Reggie was under strict orders to pull him out if he hadn't resurfaced Sunday evening.

Still, that left the big house empty, just him and Finn. And well, when else was he going to have the chance to invite Ray over and christen his new bed? And his shower. And maybe even the cozy armchair from his reading nook and his desk.

So he texted Ray, and maybe it was a little bit of a saucy text. With a picture. But that did mean he got a response straight away. Ray had been up to his ears in several projects at once, so honestly Reggie had half been expecting to be blown off, or at least asked if he could come over to Ray's instead. But Ray had seemed very happy to have an excuse to get away from his work for a while.

And they did get to christen the bed. Thoroughly. And then the shower in Reggie's bathroom. But then they also had dinner, cooking together, and went on a long walk with Finn. When they came back home, Finn immediately curled on his pillow, content, and Reggie turned to Ray, leaning up to kiss him just because he could. Ray smiled into the kiss, his hands finding Reggie's hips.

"Couch?" he asked. Julie would kill him if he christened the couch, but there were no rules against snuggling and kissing on it. Ray smiled and nodded, and they curled up together on the couch, finding something mindless to watch.

As the evening went on, he could feel Ray sagging against him. The poor guy had really been pushing himself. Reggie vowed that he was going to make Ray relax the entire weekend. Breakfast in bed, naps, the whole shebang. Starting with...

"C'mere," he said. "Lay down." Ray looked like he wanted to protest, but Reggie pouted at him until he did, his head in Reggie's lap. He gave a happy sigh when Reggie started playing with his hair, running his fingers through it. He kind of loved Ray's hair. Probably due to his whole 'silver fox' thing Alex always ragged on him for.

"That's nice," Ray murmured, and Reggie didn't say a thing when he saw his eyes drift shut. He made it another five minutes, and then he was out like a light. Reggie smiled, finishing the episode and watching the one after, keeping his fingers running through Ray's hair as he made happy noises.

Afterwards, he leaned over, pressing a kiss to Ray's nose just to see him scrunch it up. "Wakey-wakey," he whispered. Ray grumbled, but opened his eyes, blinking up in confusion when he saw Reggie hanging above him.

"Oh, sorry, did I doze off?" he said, sitting up with a groan. Reggie grinned.

"Yes, and it was adorable."

Ray rolled his eyes, but leaned over to kiss him. "Sorry, angel. I guess I was more tired than I thought."

"That's okay," Reggie said. "But let's get to bed, because I'm pretty sure we'll both regret it if we try to sleep on the couch." Between Ray's back, Luke coming inside in the middle of the night to get to the Good Snacks before disappearing into the studio again, and Finn's need to lick people awake at five in the morning for walkies if he got the chance, the couch was a minefield.

It was kind of weird, seeing Ray in his bed, and it sent a thrill down Reggie's spine. He slipped into bed with him, kissing him soundly. "Thanks for coming over."

"Thank you for inviting me," Ray murmured against his lips.

They may not always have the opportunity, but Reggie was very happy to have it now. This weekend was going to be amazing.

I have another little headcanon for you!!

Julie and Carlos like dancing together in the livingroom or in Julie's room and sometimes they dance to one of Rose's old songs♡

Also Ray likes watching them and it makes him incredibly happy <3

I know you probably imagine this in about their canon ages, but imagine like 9 year old Julie going up to 5 year old Carlos and getting him up to dance to their mom's old music, and they have little dance parties in the living room, and Ray and Rose have a bunch of old photos of them dancing.

And it's a tradition that continues until they're much older, and Rose dies, but the dancing doesn't stop. Like they still find time every once in a while to get together in the living room and have a little dance party together. And Ray is standing in the doorway watching them, taking a photo, and it almost feels a little bit like Rose is standing next to him, watching them too.

Here i go, making myself kinda sad rip

happy juke jeudi again!!! (I think maybe I'll make it a weekly thing if that's cool with you!)

xndigo over on TikTok (I believe it's just them, maybe some others, but that's who I got the info from) is doing a jatp streaming party. All you have to do is watch jatp or listen to the soundtrack from October 14-16. I know some people have given up hope on getting the show back, but I still think it's a fun thing! Even just for memories.

So, it just occurred to me that Carrie explaining Julie and her ‘hologram band’ to her dad in 1x09, pretty clearly for the first time, means:

He didn’t go to Eats ‘n Beats, which, I guess I knew, but it just kind of hit home that he should’ve been there to be supportive.  But at the very least, wouldn’t you have told your dad about it later?

She also didn’t tell him about being “upstaged” at the spirit rally.

She didn’t tell him where she was going when she went to Julie’s garage party.

She didn’t explain in any detail when she came home with a bunch of kids to throw an impromptu party the night of the dance.

So Carrie doesn’t go to her dad when she’s upset, doesn’t vent to him, and doesn’t even ask him for professional advice.  Like, does he have any idea what’s going on in her life?  Does he even care?  It’s just sad.
