Can you believe that we posted our first podcast episode Wake Up, It’s Podcast Time 2 years ago today? So it’s only fitting that we post our last episode today. Our last Julie and the Podcasters episode that is, we’re not stopping podcasting all together, we just don’t know exactly when and what we’ll do next. As soon as we figure it out, we will let you know though.

julie and the phantoms lives on. they win grammys. julie and luke's private but obvious will they/won't they moments are viral on tiktok after every concert, every interview, every concert. the music video for perfect harmony fuels rumors. julie, on a podcast, refers to the joy she has to work with her boyfriend - the internet goes wild. reggie and alex post a cryptic tiktok about third and fourth wheeling when two of your bandmates are dating. their next album single is the luke-penned wicked beauty, which describes julie to a t. before anybody knows it, they've gotten married before the start of their next tour. months after the tour wraps, a video of a pregnant julie recording new music in the studio is posted from jatp social media accounts. so many funny videos follow over the next couple of years of the band members trying to teach julie and luke's kids to play instruments. the four of them have bets on which instrument the two children are going to choose. in their teens, the siblings discreetly release an ep under a pen name that their parents don't know about, and one of the songs lands on the president's annual playlist. they blow up. nobody knows it's the children of julie molina and luke patterson until two years later, after they've released an album, and they appear at the grammys because they've been nominated for best new artist. they perform at their parents induction to the rock and roll hall of fame.

I’m so used to writing Julie and the Phantoms characters and pairings but I think my favorite that I’ve written this year is actually Caleb/Adam from The Bright Sessions podcast 😂 they were a nice change of pace from the JatP and also THEY’RE SO IN LOVE

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

I wrote a Carlos-centric one shot earlier this year for my angst-off with Kira and honestly I think it was Carlos because 1) I discovered I’m horrible at writing children and 2) it was an introspective fic, which I’m used to writing from the POV of an older character (and, also, I’m older) so I feel like there’s a more… mature way of thinking involved. and I couldn’t really carry that over to a 12-year-old lol

A new Julie and the Podcasters episode? 

Yes! We’re back with a new episode and we’re really sorry it took us so long. This is definitely not our most organised or planed. We took the very vague idea of a band competition with no idea where to go from there and started recording. We had a lot of fun with it and ended up basically coming up with enough plot bits to fill an entire season including a crossover. And of course we ranted about Netflix, would it be an episode of Julie and the Podcasters otherwise?

We hope you have as much fun with this episode as we did, if you think of any plotpoints that should be in the battle of the band season, please share them with us.  The JatP fandom is sadly dwindling a bit, let’s fight that together by coming up with fun plotlines together.

do you guys know how madly blindingly angry I am that there is not going to be another julie and the phantoms series. them fuckers at netflix cancelling all the good fucking shows. no more fucking jatp and babysitters club is ended as well. i’m literally crying about these kids shows. we never got to see alex x willie become real. it ended on a cliffhanger. i’m so tired. it was so good as well.

EDIT: at least we have heartstopper. thank fuck. I feel like we deserve it after this. but equally like. this is tumblr. the demons on this hellsite deserve none of alice’s blessings. thank you Alice Oseman for making my live liveable btw :))

hi does anyone have queer book recommendations that are less… concrete. about who they’re representing.

I’m a queer person. I know this. I think i’m non binary but I don’t know. I might be a girl I might be a guy i don’t know. I’m with a guy, but I think I also like girls. I think ? I think i’m asexual but I could be wrong you never know.

I want a book that gets that. i’m not questioning. I just don’t particularly care. I think that the only characters I get who are like this in any way, are very bi coded. the ace spec vibes is the things that I never find. I don’t mean someone discovers that they are asexual, but someone that knows about the asexual labels, and partly relates to them and is okay with that. I really just don’t relate to that certainty, or that sort of. tortured confusion. I am not tortured. I simply vibe baby.
