Lanier doesn’t even like the term artificial intelligence, objecting to the idea that it is actually intelligent, and that we could be in competition with it. “This idea of surpassing human ability is silly because it’s made of human abilities.” He says comparing ourselves with AI is the equivalent of comparing ourselves with a car. “It’s like saying a car can go faster than a human runner. So I log into Tumblr....

...and the feed is full of people bitching about Twitter's new post lockdown. Whinewhinewhine. Tumblr has its own problems. Hypocrites.

Jaron Lanier is one of the prime "digerati". When he says "There is no AI" we are expected to take him seriously. No one is, of course---crypto is dying out as a "trendy investment" so now the swells are pumping AI developers instead. Suckers.

YouTube shit: a few words about "fake rednecks" on YT. I've already complained about the "cream" of that crapcrew, like "Cleetus McFarland" and "Goonzsquad". It turns out that Vice Grip Garage, as fake a redneck car-hacker as you can find (he used to be a sheriff's deputy), has joined the "top tier". His stupid videos, of trying to get assorted junkyard carbuncles to run and roll away, routinely draw millions of views. He has a website with endorsement deals and merch. This indicates he's a "celebrity" lol. "But people LIKE him! He talks like Misterogers!" etc. On deck are endless wannabes: SuperspeedersRob, BoostedBoiz, Junkyard Digs and a thousand more. Hope you enjoy looking at rust.

Also, the popularity of Daily Woo is real ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to me. People who make "travelogues" should probably not be mouthy numbnuts who know very little about locations they go to. (He DOES NOT talk like Misterogers.) PS, is Omar Qazi still obsessively posting boring videos of his fucking Tesla driving itself? You betcha. Even when it almost runs over a pedestrian, Omar remains a blindly loyal Musk stan. And YT is now even more boring/stupid than "old TV".
