Round 2, side A
Propaganda under the cut
Penderwicks propaganda:
I think they gain half siblings in later books
Oh, what I would have given to spend one wonderful summer with the Penderwicks. Childhood nostalgia at its finest. In the later books, they gain a step-brother (Ben) and a half-sister (Lydia), too, which are great additions to the family as well.
Maresh brothers propaganda:
Kell bound his life together with Rhy after bringing him back with Black Magic. Also the author said they're based on Ed and Al from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
I know they were given as an example, but like, look at them! The most precious of bonds - the bond of life connects them

A very obscure connection, but a cool "parallel" nonetheless—close, sibling duos that give off the same energy:
Skye Penderwick 🤝 Rafal Mistral
Jane Penderwick 🤝 Rhian Mistral
I highly recommend both The Penderwicks and the SGE series. They're two of my favorite childhood book series. Who else has read both?
The Penderwicks at Point Mouette is the third book and my favorite of the series; it's basically Rise in terms of dynamics, except The Penderwicks is a much quieter book series than SGE is, and the characterizations are top-notch, vivid and distinctive. Also, the books remind me of Beverly Cleary's Ramona series and Little Women.
If anyone would like further explanation:
Skye has a temper but also has somewhat rational, cool-headed, Rafal energy in some way. Even if they're in totally different genres/contexts, their characters intersect at some point, by a lot, I think. There's the anger issues, the obsession with order, the protectiveness, the exasperation with idiocy, colder viewpoints than others', and a fascination with retribution and justice, etc.
Jane and Rhian are the siblings that get crushes easily. Jane is a little out of the loop, innocent, susceptible to being taken advantage of, daydreamy, imaginative, and a hopeless romantic, so she's not entirely like Rhian, but her character drives her in a similar direction as the one Rhian in Rise tends toward.

i have so many feelings about jane and batty. they hardly have scenes together in the first four books (because they don’t need to! because jane has skye. and batty has rosy) but it’s so easy to see how much they love each other. jane lets batty help her with her play because she knows that batty likes to be included. she's put away her distress on multiple occasions for batty, like when she told batty a bedtime story even though she was worried about rosalind, or asked if batty had any anxieties even though she was concerned about claire's ankle. and batty repeatedly jumped in to help with lydia and ben during at last when it was clear that jane was overwhelmed.
and so much of that stems from the fact that jane never holds any resentment towards batty. she always understood that lizzy didn't chose between her life and batty's. she never felt like her childhood was taken because she didn't have to help raise batty more than any other sister did. and batty, maybe because of the way jane treats her, never feels like she's ruined jane's life.
and because of that, they have the simplest relationship out of any of the original for sisters. and i think that's just so sweet.

Batty: ppl who say "the wife" instead of "my wife" are... suspect at minimum
Tommy: Why? You jealous of the man with the superlative wife? The wife against which all others are measured?
Dusek: The definitive wife.
Jane: One wife to rule them all and in the darkness, bind them

Round 1, side A
Propaganda under the cut
Archeron siblings propaganda:
i feel their relationships are v realistic and fleshed out, and how their trauma throughout the series affects said relationships. also nesta is just so so so cool. i love her.
Look. These books are bad and their relationships with each other are terribly developed but complex sister relationships make me feral. Nesta went all the way to the wall to try and rescue Feyre! Feyre made an oath to her dying mother to protect her sisters! Elain is also there! The latest ACOTAR book did terrible things for their relationship but they are immortal fey and I believe that they can be better!

You know how in the past sometimes artists, philosophers, storytellers, etc. would find a rich patron to support them so they could do their work? I'm thinking about how after Jane stayed at the Arundel carriage house and talked about liking it Jeffrey got to thinking and he thought: Hey. I have more money than I know what to do with and Jane works a waitressing job and would probably love writing full-time.
So he decides to give his honorary sister a lift up and offers to become her patron. Jane would love the poetic-ness of it, but I can't decide whether she'd take it. She might want to be self-sustaining, but the chance to do nothing but write as a job? That'd be hard to resist.
Well, Penderwicks corner of Tumblr, what do you think?
(Maybe I'll make a fanfic outta this)

Quote
Do you think Mommy would be angry? (Rosalind) Angry at our plans and counterplans, with your father sneaking out in the middle of it all to read a book? No, Rosy. I think she'd be laughing herself into fits.
The Penderwicks on Gardam Street
I love how Elizabeth Penderwick is characterized in death. Loving and vivacious, yes, but we know from the bits of her that Skye embodies that she could be stubborn and hot-tempered. Human, in other words. Her family will think about her every day. There will be an empty seat for her at every wedding, every graduation, every heartbreak, but they will learn to love without her. They will know for certain that she would have been best friends with Iantha and fallen in love with Ben and Lydia, despite Lydia’s protests that they couldn’t both exist at the same time and Skye’s reassurances about parallel universes. I can only hope for a death this sweet.

“Jane, the bird isn’t dead, and don’t you dare try to resuscitate it.” (Rosalind to jane) i feel like this would be set 2 years after gardan street for some reason.
let it be known that i spent at least two minutes cackling at the idea of jane trying to revive a bird
"Jane, the bird isn't dead, and don't you dare try to resuscitate it," Rosalind says harshly as she turns around to find her younger sister hovering over a robin on the sidewalk.
Jane's in her soccer uniform, peering up at Rosalind dubiously. "Are we sure about that?" Jane looks back down at the robin, who seems to have been frozen by the shock of being chased by Hound, who is now safely eyeing the bird behind Tommy.
Rosalind waves her hands around in frustration. She just wanted one peaceful walk in the park after school but her siblings just won't let her. "It's wings are moving Jane. What dead bird moves its wings?"
"Chickens run around after they've been deheaditated," Batty offers up serenely, her hand clutching Ben's.
"Decapitated you birdbrain." This is Skye, standing apart from the group with her arms crossed over her chest. Her blonde hair is flying everywhere in the autumn breeze.
"Okay Jane-o I think it'll be okay. Let's just give it some space." Tommy pulls Jane up so she's standing. "If it's not better on our way home you can try to revive it."
This seems to pacify Jane, who promptly cartwheels down the street after Skye.
Thank you Rosalind mouths at Tommy. He winks back in response and lopes an arm around her shoulder.
