Pairing: E!42 Miles x Spider-person!reader
Warnings: Protectiveness…if that triggers you.
Tumblr media
Outside of Miles’s window the streets buzzed with noise, from cars honking their horns to people yelling for their kids to come inside.
It was late at night as usual and Miles was sitting at his desk listening to music as he sketched out ideas for a creative writing paper that he couldn’t visualize properly.
knock knock…
That was unexpected.
Miles turned toward his bedroom window to see you standing out there with a excited smile. The boy smirked subconsciously wondering what you were doing here this late, especially without texting him first.
He opened the window and helping you crawl through.
“Don’t worry your mom knows i’m here,” you said landing on the hard wood floor of his bedroom.
“ho-”
“I texted her..anyways look!” you lifted your phone to his face showing him the disney plus app.
Miles squinted his eyes shielding them from the phones aggressive brightness, “What am I looking at?” he stifled a laugh.
You turned the phone back to your view, eye brows furrowed, “Are we not looking at the same thing? Little mermaid is on disney plus now so we can watch it!”
“You ran all the way here just to watch The little mermaid?”
The boy closed the window behind you and took your jacket off your back to hang in his closet.
“With you…” you stated with a smile kicking off your shoes.
With a sound understanding he turned back around to face you, “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I coulda gotten snacks and shit.” the question came with a concern glare.
“Number one…” You held up a book bag full of both your favorite snacks.
“And two you wouldn’t have let me walk over here myself,” you grumbled, sounding slightly annoyed, seated on his edge of his bed in your hello kitty pajama pants. “then I would’ve had to wait for you to get me…then walk here….then have you walk me back home, then wait for you to get back home and you like to take stops so-”
He rolled his eyes and joined you on the bed. “Well yeah ima walk wit you, you know where we live right?”
“You realize i’m the Spinner right?” said in a whisper, matter of factly.
Miles sighed not wanting to have this conversation for the 3rd time this month. “Yeah ok y/n…lemme see the bag….please.”
You snorted getting ready to chew the boy out for his lack of manners, “I was bout to say- here.” after digging into the bag you handed over a platter of caribbean food from the place down the block.
“Wha- this is food food…”
“I may have also stopped at Mrs. Kiyana’s shop…allegedly.”
Miles stifled a laugh and took the platter. As he opened it he noticed you got everything exactly the way he liked it, jerk chicken with Jamaican cabbage, and plantains.
He held back a smile, “Thank you..” said in a soft whisper like tone as he reached his hand into the platter.
“Of course,” you reached back in the bag pulling out two forks. “I know you not about to eat that with your hands-”
The boy stopped in his tracks and awkwardly took one of them out of your hand. “Right, my bad..”
Tumblr media
I might make a part two to this one as well. BUT I KIND OF LIKE THE WAY THIS CAME OUT!! YAY! Anyways thank you for reading<3

Music Genres
When I was kid, you would have probably heard me say something like “I don’t believe in genre labels”. To a degree, there is still something about that sentiment that I agree with; I don’t think you can really put music and styles of music in neat little boxes. But otherwise, I was pretty much wrong about everything else.
Let’s go over that.
Tumblr media
pictured: Mala, one of the godfathers of roots Dubstep
To be blunt, “genre” isn’t just about approximating what a song sounds like. If you say “I love pop music”, that honestly doesn’t mean much. The more specific you get, the more you will approach something someone can imagine like “I like experimental progressive noise pop music”. Ok, I can start to imagine things that likely approach what you're talking about, but even then it will usually not help someone fully understand what something truly is. In categorizing and approximating music styles, genres only go so far. So what makes them important then?
Well, not to say that approximating a style when describing an artist to someone is a bad thing or that doing so isn’t meant to be valued, but it’s hardly the only reason these labels exist. Importantly, “genre” helps establish culture, history, and a musical identity. So when you're trying to tell someone you're listening to a "progressive rock” project, you’re not just imagining odd time-signatures and complex riffs, you’re also meant to understand and consider that whatever is being described as to you has some sort of relevance or importance with regards to the history behind progressive rock; the culture of college bands in the UK, the sound that the punk movement revolted against, the progression of musical storytelling in rock music since the late 60’s and early 70’s, stuff like that. There’s a distinct culture and history you can pinpoint and understand when you describe something as being progressive rock and you can’t just go around calling any complex electric guitar oriented music "progressive rock" unless it has those specific ties as well as understanding and iteration of the roots.
Tumblr media
pictured: Genesis, because progressive rock mention
Genre labels help to clarify what kind of culture and histories a music project is being associated itself with and where a lot of its inspiration comes from. This is much more compelling reason for underlining the importance of genre labels and why they should be used correctly.
So, there is something I need to get off my chest then. There are a lot of misuses of genre labels all over the place, especially online. And I’m not talking about saying something is “Alternative Rock” when it’s clearly some kind of “Folk Rock” record instead. What I’m talking about is something like “Dubstep”.
Even as recent as a few years ago, I started personally reclaiming the term “Dubstep” as a genre label to describe any bass-adjacent music. At the time I did this, I thought it was cool, because the term Dubstep had been dubbed (pun intended) to be cringeworthy lexicon to some people. And while I feel that’s a noble reason to reclaim something like that, because some weirdos think it's cringe, in this case I actually think it’s wrong.
The term “Brostep” has been used to describe any non-roots bass-oriented music that originates from the proper roots Dubstep. It’s a term I didn’t like FOREVER, especially because the phrase was derived as a generalization of the kind of people who tend to listen to it. However, I actually think that Brostep is a title that people should be more comfortable and confident with labeling things as.
The original Dubstep came as a result of Jamaican immigrants bringing Dub music to the UK, which then fused with the remnants of 2-Step Garage which was prominent in the 90’s just years prior. Timbah.On.Toast made a great video called All My Homies Hate Skrillex and it is a really good breakdown of what separates roots Dubstep from the Americanized Brostep, which came after it. I think everyone knows by now that I have a deep, deep love for EDM based Broste and I am the biggest Skrillex fangirl alive. So being both a Brostep and Skrillex superfan, please understand that I think the video is one of the most important things you can watch as an EDM enjoyer.
Conflating the term Dubstep with things that aren’t actually Dubstep is honestly a slap in the face to all of the pioneers of Dub and Dubstep, which famously were both pretty much ENTIRELY invented by black people. I think it’s fair to say that incorrectly labeling music in this way has racist implications. It dishonours and twists the legacy of the music. You can find og Dubstep to listen to on the RYM Ultimate Box Set > Dubstep page. Check some of that out, then listen to some 2010, 2011 Skrillex and see how different things really went.
It confused me at first when I was a teenager, I didn't understand why so many people hated Skrillex back in the day. I came to realize so much of the hate wasn’t even really with regards music itself, but the total lack of understanding or care for the roots of the genre, which all of his work was founded upon and he then subsequently bastardized without caring at all. It was pure disrespect, it was practically cultural erasure and so many people will now only know of Dubstep as “that Skrillex transformer screech music”. Yeah. It actually fucking sucks.
But there is a LONG history of black music being erased from history and being undermined, whether entirely intentional or due to systemic unawareness.
I saw a post the other day talking about how it sucks that so much music is just lumped into being “video game music” when so much of this stuff has deep roots and cultural significance. The first example pointed how a lot of acid jazz music is just described as “Persona music” by the layperson now. Meanwhile, Acid Jazz as a genre is a huge development on things like roots jazz, disco, funk, and hip hop music. You know. All genres that were invented by black people. Fascinating, right?
Jungle music was also mentioned. And this one is very particular for me. Jungle music, when not being generalized as "PS1 Music", is often just called drum & bass or breakcore (also please Google the difference between breakbeat and breakcore, thanks) which are all fundamentally misunderstanding what Jungle music even is. Much of Jungle music, AS MANY THINGS DO, finds VERY prominent roots in Reggae, Dub, and sound system culture in Jamaica as well as countless other prominently black communities in the UK.
But it doesn’t stop there.
If you’re unfamiliar, there is a genre called “IDM”, otherwise known as Intelligent Dance Music. When I was a kid, and I first heard that word, I immediately was like “that is the most pretentious, stupid thing I’ve ever heard”. Eventually as I grew up, I just stopped thinking about that and started referring to more music as IDM. This style of music is generally characterized with “complexity” and being “not much danceable”. While I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the music that is called IDM, I do think there’s everything wrong with the term IDM, intelligent dance music.
When asked how he feels about being labeled as an IDM artist, Aphex Twin responded:
"I just think it's really funny to have terms like that. It's [basically] saying 'this is intelligent and everything else is STUPID.' It's really nasty to everyone else's music."
Tumblr media
pictured: Aphex Twin, the funnyman himself
I think most people would agree with this sentiment. It’s so strange to call one kind of music “intelligent”, out of the hundreds of thousands of genres out there. But let’s bring this back to Jungle music. The reality is that IDM started to become a term around the same time that Jungle music became prominent, in the 90's. Both styles of music are complex, introspective, skittery, and chaotic (but refined and often disciplined) genres. Except, of these two, Jungle music was the one pioneered primarily by black artists. IDM was a sort in competition with Jungle. To therefore call IDM “intelligent” in comparison to Jungle music ... well. I don’t feel like I really have to explain why that’s fucked up.
A lot of people have proposed different names for IDM. A quick look on reddit yields things like “Experimental Electronic” and “Brain Dance” (which was coined by Aphex Twin's label). Me personally, the term “Electro-Prog” comes to mind. Sounds cool.
Similar conversations are presently being had about the term “Riddim”. This brings us back to the dubstep side of this discussion again. Riddim, as an EDM genre, is an offshoot of Brostep music that focuses a lot on repetition over the downbeat, maintaining an insanely distorted sound design, a lot more than the average Brostep song. However, the term “riddim” originates — yet again — from the Jamaican Patois for “rhythm”. And Riddim as a musical style in Jamaica is actually more associated with things like dancehall and reggae, rather than the commercialized "Riddim" that is several hundred times removed from its own roots.
Last year, musician INFEKT proposed that what most EDM listeners call “riddim” should be referred to instead as “Trench” in an article on their website. This proposed name is derived from Getter’s use of the term on his 2014 record “Trenchlords Vol. 1”. I don’t personally know how much I resonate with the term, but whatever the consensus is, I don’t think we should be conflating a westernized, commercialized, and EDM-centric genre like this to Jamaican roots music. Over and over again, it seems that black music is constantly overwritten by developments like this, so I think more care needs to be taken in not allowing that to happen.
As a side note, a lot of people online seem very keen on appropriating Jamaican Patois quite often? There are so many examples of this. When the term “Bomboclaat” started making the rounds on Twitter a few years ago, so many white people were quick to either talk wildly about the term and trend or otherwise start saying it as well. There was a fucking article that sought to answer “The Bomboclaat >> Meme << Meaning Explained”, like they’re not dissecting an element of Jamaican slang lol. Then there was a period of time where people were constantly saying things like “On Jah?” as a stand-in for “On God?” even though this, again, is Jamaican Patois. And even now, you have tons and tons of non-black people going everywhere being like “what is blud waffling about?”, the phrase “blud” ONCE AGAIN also being Jamaican in origin.
I shouldn’t even have to explain what makes these kinds of appropriations weird and messed up. But black people lose jobs and are denied basic things in life over their hair styles, their expressions and slang, and so many other things that a white person can just appropriate and face zero consequences whatsoever for.
That aside, aside. Understanding and labeling genres correctly is such a big part of music history and highlighting and preserving cultures worldwide. When efforts are made to undermine the meaning of a genre label or otherwise use it incorrectly, so much damage is done to the communities and people groups that innovate and pioneer this art to begin with.
For these reasons, I will gladly use the term Brostep. I will happily call things Electro-Prog. And when you talk about genres like Jungle and Dubstep, say it with your whole chest. Be proud of the human race, show respect and love for the people who have forged the greatest parts of music with their bare hands. We will always stand on the shoulders of giants as musicians, so instead of pretending you yourself are the giant, build monuments and maintain the history of these people. You as an artist are nothing without them.
Tumblr media
pictured: Augustus Pablo, one of the most important innovators of Dub. Without him, and without many of his contemporaries, I would reckon that half or more of all modern music would simply not exist.
CONTENT WARNING FOR THIS FINAL SECTION, THERE ARE LIKE LOTS OF STRANGE SLURS AND RACIST VIBES.
One last thing I wanna mention, this is slightly tangential but I think it's relevant to this conversation. It's always weird how lots of websites categorize things like this:
Tumblr media
From Big Fish Audio... "G**sy*? "World/Ethnic Loops & Samples"? What the fuck are you talking about. Seems like racism to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Loopmasters they have a "World" section. Any Americanized genre gets its own category, but the entire continents of Africa and Asia as well as the country of India and region of the Middle East (which are part of Asia, hope this helps btw) and lastly South America are stuffed into the nebulous "World Label". Seems like racism to me. Are you telling me you weirdos can't figure out a better way to represent these things?
Tumblr media
But then Psy Trance gets its whole entire own category? Aren't there only like five people who listen to Psy Trance? /hj . But like come on.
Tumblr media
Shoutout to WA Productions for categorizing a universe of suspiciously mostly black music as """Urban"""". And this company is a dime a dozen, hundreds of corpos do this shit.
Tumblr media
East fucking West, what is this dude. There is a racism happening, I just know it. Please give me a count of how many poc are on payroll at your company, I am so curious.
Tumblr media
And while we're at it, East West, what is this. Tell me. Fucking tell me.
Thanks for reading.

SHURI X JAMAICAN READER
Summary: A night out at the club takes a bit of a turn when y/n’s favorite song comes on and she starts drunkenly singing it to shuri , it’s the songs unique lyrics that takes shuri over the edge…
Warnings: tipsy reader, high reader, high shuri, implies smut (I’m too scared I’ll ruin it if I write smut lol)
(A/N: post writing this I am just gonna say hats off to all the writers on this platform because it is so fucking hard to translate an idea into a flowing story and I think this is the first and last time I try to do so 😭)
Soooo I’ve been on tumblr for a while reading and interacting but I never dared to write anything..but THIS scenario played out so nice while I was driving and smoking. This song was playing and it started from there you can listen to it but idk if it’ll actually go with the story so the choice is yours. If this is shit tell me immediately I’ll take it down and stfu forever 😭🫶🏾
I don’t plan on translating the patois in the dialog but if it’s necessary pls lmk and I’ll add it !
…here we go🫣 *inhales*
-
1:00AM at the club was your favorite time because the normal DJ switched out for a Jamaican one. Who so happens to be your favorite cousin.
You and Shuri decided to go out together to get some drinks in a more social environment rather than staying in like you had for the last year. Getting tired of hearing the complaints that “ Y/N put a spell on our Queen” or better yet “The Queen is pussy whipped” This was the perfect place to show face and vibe discreetly.
You made the final lick to seal your third blunt of the night. The bass in the club going hard to ‘The Harder They Fall’ by Koffee.
“Perfect song to spark the blunt to.” Shuri your girlfriend of 3 years chuckled.
The first pull was harsh but the second was sweet. That’s how you earned the name sour patch from your stoner friends.
“Here baby” you passed the blunt over. When your eyes locked so did your knees, it was a good thing you were sitting.
“You know you look really good when you’re high.” You boldly said. Shuri chuckled in reply and took a hit.
“If you think I look good so good sthandwa , dance with me”
She abruptly got up and put the blunt out, which forced you as well since you rested on her chest . As you two made your way towards the dance floor you locked eyes with your cousin.
When you saw that dumbass look on her face from the DJ booth you knew she was about to troll you in some way. The previous song seamlessly began blending into an intro you knew too well.
(start playing song here)
*Flash Back*
“Y/N long time mi nuh see yuh up weh mi spin yuh kno!” Your cousin said over wine at her place.
“It haad fi lef yuh yaad when it hold suh much luv .” You chuckled. Shuri was by no means keeping you from going out. It was more so you kept each other inside.
“Suh it guh when yuh get a gyal wid a ten outta ten ehhhhh!” You couldn’t help but bust out at the song reference she made.
“Gyal yuh nuh easy!” You laughed .
*Flash Back Over*
As soon as the bass dropped in the song you turned your back to Shuri to whine your waist.
Gyal , your pussy good mi gi’ you
10 outta 10
Up inna mi bed mi want you spread out again
“Careful, this same waistline is how you got stuck in the house for a year.” Shuri whispered in your ear, her waist keeping up with yours as she caught everything you threw.
What a body good , like you mek
outta gem
Hot inna your clothes when you
Step out again
“I’m just showing appreciation for the song choice it’s a tribute to you My Queen.” It came out a lot more breathless than you would have liked but truth be told her waistline was now leading and it was making you dizzy.
A just 10 outta 10 outta 10
Outta 10
Open up your book and mek
Mi tek out mi pen
You turned around to sing the chorus directly to her and the more words you said the darker her eyes sets.
“Slow whine gyal, your so fine
Pussy mek mi cum in no time” you sang.
Even under the club lights you could see the desire swimming in her eyes at the vulgar words you sang to her in your native tongue.
Without you even noticing her hand slide up to house your throat . “ nkosazana uyayazi ukuba indenza ntoni?” (Princess, do you have any idea what that does to me ?) Shuri rasped in your ear over the music.
You couldn’t do anything but stare at her like she hung the stars in the sky herself. The same effect that patois had on her, Xhosa had on you.
It was an instant panty soaker.
“masigoduke ndizokwazi ukubuyisa imbeko sithandwa sam” (let’s go home so I can return the tribute my love.) she ghosted over your lips.
Eyes heavy from the blunts , drinks , and Shuri’s goal to have cum untouched by her voice alone . You closed the gap between you two . The kiss was slow and deep but by no means was it romantic.
Her tongue danced with yours aiming to fuck you in the filthiest reaches of your mind. You knew if you didn’t leave now you would absolutely let her take you where you stood and no one would dare to try and stop the Black Panther .
You reluctantly broke the kiss with a gasp “yes.home.now.come” you spoke all at once and out of order.
You heard her laughing behind you as you practically dragged her off the floor.
“So you think I’m a 10 out of 10 ehhh” she teased . You tried to keep a straight face but failed thinking you both knew that you were both the 10’ s that made up the highest score.

*nervous chuckle*😅

Bun and Cheese!
Miles would watch his mamí cook such delicious foods, his honey brown eyes landed on container that were meant for his boyfriend. It got him wanting to help her, since his mom would give him leftovers to Hobie.
"Mamí, yo puedo ayuda?" The eighteen year old asked.
"Oh, sí, mi amor." His mom happily smiles, "What got you wanting to cook?"
"Um... I see your making extras for Hobie, and..." Miles looks bashful as he went to help her chop some onions, "I... maybe you can help me make his some food for the week?"
Rio's eyes lit up with joy, "Oh mi bebé, of course I will! Besides, this will be great for you to learn when you live on your own." She kisses her son's cheek being so happy seeing her son wanting to bond with her through cooking, and to make food for someone he deeply loves.
"Waahhh," Baby Billie cries being awake from her nap through the baby monitor.
"This is also good for me. You can cook while I deal with mi otra bebé!" She let Miles' handle the stove with all those pans and pots, "Let me go feed her. I'll tell you what to do."
"Uhh, okay!" Miles said with a slight panic in his voice. When his mom came back holding his baby sister, who's teary eyes blooms at the sight go him. It looks like all her sadness were washed away.
Miles listens to his mom telling him how long each side of the chicken should be cooked, when to stir the habichuelas, and check on the rice. "Tu nova es parte Jamaiquino?"
"Yeah, his family is a mix between Jamaican and West African... I think part Haitian, too."
"Oh, él también podría ser en parte dominicano. Comparten la misma isla. Recuerden que el papá de tu prima Moni y primo Flaco es dominicano y tenía un poco de Haitiano." She switch to speaking English, "His family lives close to boarder with a ranch and everything."
"Well, I dunno if Hobie knows much on his family. They don't talk much on that, but maybe. He knows like four languages and Haitian Creole is one of them."
"Look at him y tu? You should already be fluent con tu Espanol!"
"Mamí, tu sabes que lo estoy- umm trying." Miles tries to speak in full Spanish from time to time, "I mean, at least I understand everything in Spanish. Good thing, I know Korean and Sign Language." He's fluent with Sign Language and he's so proud of that.
Rio giggles, "Remember summer we'll be going to Puerto Rico, and all your family would want to speak with you." She went to get a formula bottle to feed her daughter.
Miles could only give a sheepish smile, he needs to work on that.
The Next Day
Miles came by to his boyfriend's place to drop off some food, "Mi amor, you here?" He went inside to find his boyfriend being shirtless with his skinny jeans and thick red boots. Hobie turns his head making his wicks bounce, his whole body turning pink.
"Sunflower!" He looks so happy to see his boyfriend, he was busy washing his dishes finishing up his breakfast. "I didn't expect you to come by. I would've clean up." He took off his rubber washing gloves revealing his hands having rings and neatly painted black nails. The punker saw his Sunflower set two big bags on the small round table, then rushes over to hug and kiss him.
"Mmm-mwah!" Miles' arms tightly hug his Hobie's waist with his head looking up with so much love. "Mamí wanted me to give this to you as soon as possible. She made some grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, and bean stew."
"Mmm sounds delicious, luv." Hobie leans over for another kiss with his arms hugging his Sunflower. "But it looks like she made other dishes?"
"Oh yeah, I help her make tostones," Miles hums.
"Ohh, so you cook too." Hobie's eyes gleam with joy by this fact.
"Mmhmm. Hope you like it, baby." He kisses his boyfriend's lips again and again.
The Punker picks up his Sunflower, "I will always love everything you and your mother make, but right now, I think I want a treat." He took his boyfriend to the bedroom only the sounds of giggles came out of the room.
A week later on Earth 1610, Miles was preparing Hobie's lunch and the rest of his week meal plans. He started to make Bun and Cheese, a savory sweet sandwich that's very comforting for many Jamaicans. Heck, his dad is a huge fan of them, too.
So Miles spend his free Friday making Jamaican Spice Buns with dried fruit, it almost reminded him of a fruit cake. He took a small piece to try and like the sweet spices with the molasses taste of this dense bread. "Mmm." He quickly got his knife to make thick slices of bread.
The whole home smells off cinnamon and raisins, the teenager got some sharp cheddar cheese knowing his boyfriend likes eating it that type instead of regular cheddar. Maybe he should've got the Tastee Jamaican cheese, since he saw Hobie having in his cabinets. "I'll leave some slices for him." He softly said to himself.
Then the timer ring, making Miles go over to the stove to flip over his steak making Bistec Encebollao, and he made a batch of fried sweet plantains knowing his man loves them so much. Then a big batch of rice and peas, he smiles to himself at the view of his cooking.
"Look at me go!" He did a happy dance.
Jeff came through the front door smelling the house, "Whoo, something smells good!" The middle age man went over to the kitchen being surprised his son cooking, "Miles, son? Your cooking?"
"Hey, dad! Yup. I want to make Hobie some lunch." Miles happily said.
Jeff nodded, "Alright." he went over to look at the food, "Smells good. Ohh, is that bun and cheese?" He took one of the sandwiches to munch on being hungry.
Miles looks over to see his dad's reaction. Jeff took a big bite, then his eyes widen and went, "MMM." He always buy store bought spice bread, but the homemade one taste way better. "This is good! You added nutmeg?"
"Yup!" His son proudly said.
Rio came out of her room with little Billie in her arms, "Hola, mi amor! Ohh, something smells so good."
"I'm making Bistec Encebollao!" Miles happily said seeing how his parents like his cooking.
The next day, Miles had packed all of Hobie's meal plans and a special lunch. He made sure he added a cute note, and sweet treat with some homemade lemonade. He went to HQ knowing his boyfriend might be there trying to change the minds of new comers about Miguel's dictatorship, or start some drama like always.
When he took the large plastic bags filled with Hobie's meals for the week, he got so excited to see his reaction. Happily to find his boyfriend in the hallway with their friends, "Bae!" He happily rushes over.
Hobie turns pink by the sound of his Sunflower, he turns to find his beautiful boyfriend running to him. His arms open up to let him fall into his arms, "Sunflower!" His nose being buried into his Miles' hair, "Mm! What you got there?"
"I made you lunch and meal plans instead of mi mamí!" Miles happily said with a bright beaming smile.
Hobie felt a cupid's arrow dig into his heart falling in love with his Sunflower all over again! The bright blush pink covers his whole body with hearts, and 'I love yous' all over. Then, the biggest font over his forehead, "I'M GOING TO MARRY HIM!"
Pavtri and Gwen gawks at the font having to point at it. Then saw Miles looking bashful! "Bae, I hope you like it! I work so hard."
"Anything you make for me is never awful." Hobie happily took his lunch box, and his bags for the week. "Smells heavenly, darlin'."
"You don't believe in heaven, Hobie!" His boyfriend giggles.
Gwen and Pavtri being nosy had look at the bag smelling some good food. Hobie putting on his charming smile, "Luv, you're my heaven!" If Heaven does exist, he knows for sure Miles would be his true happiness, ever lasting peace and love.
That made Miles giggles a bit boyish then playfully shove his punker, "Bae, you're so damn cheesy!" Then hugs his boyfriend, "Anyway, I have to go home and watch Billie and study for a test! Text me, when you're trying the lunch I made you. Bye, love you, mi amor!"
Hobie saw his Sunflower leaving with a rush. "Ohh, Miles cook for you! Oh, we should eat lunch together. I wanna see what he made for you!"
"Alright." Hobie shrugs trying to play off being chill.
At the cafeteria, Gwen and Pavtri got their own lunch, they sat in front of their Punker friend, who's beginning to open his lunch bag. He took out containers of hot foods, then a sandwich wrapped in aluminum, a drink and some sweet bread with a little folded note. "Ohh, open the containers! What is it?"
Hobie open the large container to find his sweet Sunflower made him, his favorite fried plantains, habichuelas with rice, and some delicious steak with some onions with a hearty sauce. Then, he opens the aluminum wrap with his eyes gleaming at the Bun and Cheese.
"Ohh, that smells good. Is that bread homemade?" Gwen asked as she sniff the air of delicious spices of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Pavtri said, "Oh that looks like a really good lunch."
Hobie took a bite of his Bun and Cheese and fell in love, "MMM!" He groans at the sweet taste of the freshly baked bun, it's way better than store bought. Then, with the sharp cheddar cheese giving a savory taste- Man, he loves this snack! Then he opens his bottle to sip at the homemade lemonade.
Everything tasted so perfect and delicious, he couldn't help but shove his food like a beast! He chews with his dark eyes catching the note, picking it up to read it.
The Note:
Hey, Bae!
I love you, and hope you enjoy the food! Mi mamí helped me, and my dad was a food taster. Hehe, he wanted to give his opinion! Billie was drooling at the smell, she gave her approve. Hope you have a great day!
XOXOXO

Lady C Tea YouTube 1/25/24 (a few nuggets paraphrased by me)
Greetings from Castle Goring,
Lady C, the gruesome twosome made an appearance for the Bob Marley movie premiere in Jamaica. I am hoping you have something spicy to say about it. A friend of mine saw Harry and Meghan at the Half Moon hotel on Monday. They were being trailed by one photographer so I am sure we will see paparazzi photos of them. According to my friend who saw them, Harry had a scowl on his face and looked miserable. Meghan was loving everything and spoke to my friend. I don’t think Meghan knew who they were. My friend felt pity for Harry. Can you imagine….Harry has said many times he hates photographers yet everywhere they go, a photographer follows them. They were there for the Bob Marley biopic film which is backed by the Bob Marley estate. I hear the movie is very good and worth watching. This film is very important to Paramount Pictures. They had their CEO there, Brian Robbins and his wife, Tracy James. Brian is also the President of Nickelodeon. I understand Meghan was very eager to be photographed with them. Also there was Andrew Holness who is the Prime Minister of Jamaica, who we know was also photographed with Harry and Meghan. Shall we take the gloves off and discuss the nitty gritty? First of all, I was told she looked several shades darker than normal. Several people commented how fake tan she looked and felt she did this deliberately to showcase her African heritage. Many people were offended by their presence. Harry and Meghan were the President and Vice President of the Commonwealth Trust and felt Harry and Meghan could do nothing positive for the Commonwealth – only race bait. I have covered in a previous video how Meghan’s race baiting ruined William and Catherine’s trip to Jamaica. This placed Andrew Holness into a difficult position. Meghan and Harry only took a photograph. By the way, Meghan was not invited to the premiere. She was #6 on the call sheet for Suits. #1 on the call sheet for Suits would have been invited. Harry was invited. Anyway, people are up in arms about this visit – in Britain and Jamaica. People were wondering why there were there at all? They had nothing to do with the movie. Did you notice how Meghan was a good mother for her kids on the night of the Living Legends award? <parody begin> “I am not getting my closeup, you aren’t getting my presence. Just make sure you put John Travolta in his place for dining out on Mom’s memory. Who does he think he is? He is not a star. Saturday Night Fever? Grease? I was the star of Suits. <end of parody> I have spoken to a lot of people. Harry was invited to this premiere – not Meghan. Ironically, this is what the QEII wanted Harry to do. She wanted Harry to visit the Commonwealth and encourage racial inclusivity. The people in Jamaica used to really like Harry and they still consider him a member of the Royal Family. Harry was viewed as a member of the Royal Family attending the premiere. Meghan’s mixed race heritage is helpful for the Royal Family. So very oddly, this came off like a Royal visit. In the 1950’s, Jamaica has at the head of racial inclusivity. Andrew Holness is a politician and politicians like to be #1. He has to take the view that Jamaica should be a republic. He is a centrist and we don’t know what he really thinks about things privately. Most Jamaicans don’t care if the country is a republic or a monarchy because they will still be in the Commonwealth. And the Royal Family is very supportive of Jamaica either way.
This Redditors Note: Lady C went into tremendous detail about the people she knows in Jamaica, the politics, and Jamaican culture. She is very proud of her heritage so please watch the video if you would like to hear her entire remarks.
Lady C, there is a comment on Quora that Harry and Meghan are no longer living together. Well as I said, Harry was seen on Monday and he looked miserable. Meghan looked very happy. I don’t like to listen to gossip. I think they are two peas of the same pod. “They are bound by their failings and it’s not that easy to escape from them when HIS children are involved.”
Lady C, so a sick child did not stop them from flying to Jamaica? When will they realize people can see through their lies? People like them never learn. People with their disorders are incapable of learning, it is part of the sickness. People like Meghan think they are so clever and so able to hoodwink everybody. Harry and Meghan are an exhibition in dupes who think they are duping but really they are only duping themselves and each other.
Lady C, are Harry and Meghan trying to undermine King Charles with the visit to Jamaica? It seems they are trying to get work with Nickelodeon. Does think mean they are not able to get work from WME? I suspect Harry and Meghan would have open delight if they could damage the monarchy. I don’t think they could ever destroy the monarchy and I think what is happening is they are only destroying themselves. I don’t think they do anything unless there is something in it for them. They didn’t attend this premiere to hurt the King, they did it to enrich themselves in some way. William Morris Endeavor hasn’t been able to get Meghan anything have they? Nickelodeon knows they can’t turn nickel into platinum. It is a diminishing level for both of them. Don’t think they didn’t go to Jamaica without incentives. And the incentives are becoming less and less. The incentives they would have had 4 years ago would have been much higher.
Lady C, at the Living Legends dinner there is video of Harry being shown his table and you can clearly see him say, “I am expected to sit here?” Could it be that he acted out on the podium? Quite possibly. He was definitely off his demeanor and upset about something. We don’t know exactly why Harry was off that night. Could have been a combination of things including Meghan’s absence. <Parody Begin> H - I have to stay home and take care of the babies. You know the babies that I carried for 18 months a piece. I am a wonder of nature. I carried the babies for 18 months each and returned to the figure I had!!! <end of parody>
Lady C clarified a story that (on the night she danced with John Travolta) Princess Diana really wanted to dance with Mikhail Baryshnikov but he had surgery on his knee and could not dance. Nancy Reagan arranged for John Travolta to ask Diana to dance. She also danced with Clint Eastwood, Neil Diamond, Tom Selleck and President Reagan that same evening.
Lady C says Harry colludes with Meghan for publicity whether he likes it or not. And their appearance in Jamaica created publicity for the movie which is why they were invited. Their presence does not impact Jamaica positively or adversely. Harry and Meghan are all about publicity.
Toodles Sinners!

I said this in the tags on my reblogs but its sooooo annoying when white people pick up black words then deem it as annoying when its everywhere. When wagwan had a little burst in popularity over here i remember having an argument with this white girl who was complaining about people saying it to her because her WHITE boyfriend told her it meant something else and i was trying to explain like its just a greeting and she would not have it like who gave ur white boyfriend the authority on patois? Not me. Not my Jamaican family. Yet she would NOT listen at all -^- same with the word innit people complained about that being a popular word when it was popularised by south asian and jamacian immigrants. Sorry this is long white people just get so annoying when it comes languages like they own it
they literally think they own everything they can’t imagine a world where groups of ppl develop things not meant for them to be included in bc their inclusion is considered the default it’s infuriating

so.
bit of a pipeline of how this idea came to my mental doorstep: there's an au made by ruffwoof (think I spelled that right, but anxious about pinging) where all the turtles are different animals, with Mikey being a frog. now, a friend of ours (Angelo) posted a doodle of frog Mikey, originally in discord which is where a different friend (Daisy) said "rottmnt au but they're all frogs" and, thus, Kung Fu Frog AU was born.
In this au, basically everything is the same except the turtles are frogs and splinter is a cat. Cause why not.
So far, I've made a few concept sketches and had some ideas about characterization and stuff, so here we go:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To break it down a bit more (pronouns tbd, going with canon for now. also I'll be giving the bros frog legs, the pictures above are, again, just concept sketches):
Raph. 16 year old goliath frog, uses an axe for a weapon. Listens to Mitski and Mother Mother, and a little bit of girl in red. (The chonk man ever.)
Donnie. 15 year old poison dart frog, uses a halberd with some tech modifications. Listens to Baby Metal. (He has games on his phone.)
Leo. 14 year old red eyed tree frog, uses a scythe ("if I'm not straight, then my weapon shouldn't be either" -forg Leo). Listens to Black Eyed Peas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and similar and also Micheal Buble? (Skinniest mfer around, tallest of the whole group. Legs fo dayyzz.)
Mikey. 13 year old flying frog, uses a sun and moon pointed sword for a weapon. Listens to electronic music and video game soundtracks, definitely an ipad kid. (Bro got da pants.)
Splinter. 56 year old ginger cat, does not fight often but uses claws when he does. Listens to jazz and r&b, but will also listen to anything recommended to him by his sons and April. (He be a tall man, cause tall splinter is very funny to me. He got lost in his instincts once and tried to eat the bros but the Bonked him really good and now he's okay again. The bros also chomped on his whiskers sometimes.)
April. 22 year old human, tends not to fight but has several daggers and knives on her person at all times. Listens to all kinds of alternative music, though leans heavily towards goth to match her fashion. (Transfem goth girlie beloved. She's Jamaican and has lesbian parents. She's my favorite. :) [though any advice or info about how I should and could portray her ethnicity would be much appreciated, I know none of the things-])
Any other potential characters are yet to be thought about, though any ideas for anyone and anything are welcome.
Uh- yippee ig-

Reflections: Cillian Murphy’s Limited Edition
Season 3, episode 6
✨I think I’m sorta catching up 😊✨
———————————————————————
*I am a music prof (predominantly classical vocalist), and I LOVE listening to Cillian’s music choices! That being said, sometimes I won’t like a song simply because of a vocalist (it’s a professional hazard - sorry!) 👩‍🏫
** The following are my own observations/opinions. We may not agree, and that’s ok! That’s what makes music fun! 😊
*** I wouldn’t say I’m well-versed in Cillian’s music preferences, but I do enjoy them (for the most part). I always wind up adding to my own playlists after listening to Cillian’s recommendations.
———————————————————————
Let the show begin!
🎵Set 1 (Fading Stars II - Come And Play In The Milky Night)
Fading Stars II: sounds like film music. It uses the same motif over and over again, slowly filling out the texture
Come And Play In The Milky Night: this reminds me of 2010s pop music. It’s got that wistfulness that I associate with that decade! (Isn’t it horrifying to be talking about the 2010s as “old”? I just hurt my own feelings!)
🎤Talking Break:
Grand isn’t as good as tippety top. Noted.
Coltrane! ❤️
Wow! The last song is from the ‘90s!
“Sitting in cars that are moving”
“Scintillating observations”
🎵Set 2 (Over My Shoulder - Glass, Concrete & Stone)
Over My Shoulder: I am having so much fun with this one! 😎😆 I love the story of this song as well.
The Beggar: again, a very fun song! But so different from the other in this set. Rhythms are interesting.
Glass, Concrete & Stone: it’s cool that there are 3 predominant instruments, like the 3 materials mentioned in the title. Melody is strange and unexpected. I like it!
🎤Talking Break:
Cillian just wants a twin, specifically David Byrne. 😂
Every track on the album is in the same key, and it’s heard above the drone. I am intrigued.
🎵Set 3 (Ta Douleur - Hard-boiled Babe)
Ta Douleur: this is so urban, but I’ll be honest - some of the sound effects sound *ahem* rude? 😅 not offensive, just like someone ate something that didn’t agree 😂😂😂😂 and I’m afraid I’m not mature enough to move past that. 💨
Hard-boiled Babe: I didn’t expect the harmonica!
These French “girl pop” songs are a genre I didn’t expect him to be into! Goes to show you can’t pin this guy’s musical tastes down.
🎤Talking Break:
He’s forever better at French than me
🎵Set 4 (War Zone - Ethiopian Rock)
War Zone: another song featuring “sound effects” - I like how the war sounds get louder and louder, but also how the melody is just so “vacation vibe”. Good commentary!
Ethiopian Rock: melody is in the bass line. The echo is fun. It feels like a reinterpretation of protest rock, but I can’t explain why other than vague similarities.
🎤Talking Break:
Old Jamaican music! Cool!
🎵Set 5 (Hill & Gully Ride - Asa Branca)
Hill & Gully Ride: this is so fun! Had I not been told it’s Jamaican, I would’ve assumed Puerto Rico or Cuba. It reminds me of those dance rhythms that came to NYC in the ‘40s and ‘50s.
Ma Blonde Est Partie: this sounds so early country/country blues. Aka OLD American styles. And I find this amazing. This might honestly be my favorite song for this episode! I love the instrument mix (in ways it sounds Appalachian?), and the vocals are so fitting here!
Asa Branca: gorgeous! 😍 it’s got a little of everything to offer! The style keeps jumping around!
✨favorite set✨
🎤Talking Break:
Cajun! Now that makes sense why I’m hearing so many Appalachian sounds!
And a series about music in the US. I’m not going crazy for hearing all that! Phew! 😅
Ask a reasonable question - your question may not be reasonable or even adequately answered! But it’s not Brian Cox
Him trying to describe emojis is precious
“A mystery wrapped inside an anorak wrapped inside an enigma”
More Yorkshire Man
🎵Set 6 (See the Sky About to Rain - Big Pharma)
See the Sky About to Rain: Neil is a specific voice. It’s always jarring at the beginning, but then I settle in and can enjoy his vocals.
Your Name Is Snake Anthony: whoa! Talk about jarring - that segue was shocking! Quite atmospheric, and in some places the background is atonal or polytonal (no key or multiple keys).
Paralysed: so my autocorrect doesn’t like the way the title is spelled 😂😂😂😂 bless it’s American little heart. I suppose the bass line that plays the “short long” motif over and over is representing your heart beat. It also repeats notes over and over again, like it’s possibly paralyzed.
Big Pharma: interesting rhythms/punctuations. I don’t love it, but it definitely sticks with you. Will be honest, the “sniffing” sounds at the beginning was a little gross. Idk what it’s supposed to be, but it sounds like someone’s got a stuffy nose 🤧
🎤Talking Break:
Ah yes, the exclusive
A poetry reading!
🎵Set 7 (Geronimo Blues - Condition of Us)
Geronimo Blues: a pretty song (which I know is weird since the lyrics are pretty critical)! And Kae is good at this, but it always takes me a second to understand the lyrics. I guess my brain has a buffer with this accent 😅
Condition of Us: again- such a strong contrast! I love the vocals here! ❤️ I’m having fun!
🎤Talking Break:
I can’t even spell the verb for getting goosebumps. Dude. What even?! 😂
🎵Set 8 (I Walk on Guilded Splinters)
The archive footage - I have concerns about his speaking vocal quality.
I Walk On Guilded Splinters: honestly, this sounds like healthier vocal production than what I just heard. Yes - there’s a way to give a raspy sound without hurting yourself. ANYWAY. This is a cool song! I love the echos. 😎
🎤Talking Break:
Correct. No intro needed for Bill Withers
🎵Set 9 (Kissing My Love - Inside Straight)
Kissing My Love: 💃💃😍😍 ooh these vocals! The funk! The groove!
Inside Straight: gimme that jazz! 😎 and can we just talk about the subtle internal harmony changes in the piano chords? Like… that shouldn’t be that cool. BUT IT IS. And everything about this is fire! 🔥 although, the raspberry scat line was a little… special. Impressive, but … yeah. 😅
🎤Talking Break:
Miles played with everyone! He pioneered so many jazz styles it’s insane!
“Pugilistic kind of sound”
“He played with the Wombles!”
🎵Set 10 (Video Life)
Video Life: just getting flashbacks to the VHS era. 😅
🎤Talking Break:
Lots of pop
“One man Beatles” - I am intrigued!
🎵Set 11 (Somebody Made for Me - Every Night)
Somebody Made for Me: OMG HE DOES SOUND JUST LIKE PAUL MCCARTNEY!! 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀 even the scoring sounds like Paul! Like… 🤯
Every Night: I AM SINGING ALONG WITH A PAUL COVER AND JUST LIVING MY BEST LIFE 💃😎😆
🎤Talking Break
You are correct, Cillian. All roads lead to the Beatles!
🎵Set 12 (Single Pigeon)
Single Pigeon: IT’S PAUL!!!! 😍😍😍 🙌 the vocal line is kinda all over the place (awkward?) and that reminds me of pigeons just wandering around 😂
🎤Talking Break:
“Doesn’t outstay its welcome”
🎵Set 13 (I Want You to Love Me - She Walks In Beauty)
I Want You to Love Me: I like the driving, powerful left hand bass in the piano against the right hand melody. And the vocal drone! That’s not heard often! The drone isn’t even always in the “right” key as she’s going through, so that’s also a fun quirk!
Must Be Tears: I love the “old school” production aesthetics!
She Walks In Beauty: gorgeous! So ethereal, which is what I get from the title alone. It’s hard to make synth and electronic instruments not sound cheesy, so I really like this. And more poetry!
🎤Talking Break:
Byron!
No it’s over already???
Yay covers! And jazz!
Coltrane!!! Finally.
“Mind yourselves”
🎵Set 14 (Wonderful World - Nature Boy)
Wonderful World: I do like the jazz, but I’m not enjoying the vocals that much. Strings are an interesting addition, though!
All I Need: more layering effects. I like this a lot! It’s got a swanky nightclub vibe to it. The piano solo is so satisfying.
Nature Boy: yes! 😎 the bebop is popping! I loooooove bebop/hard bop so much. It’s INSANE and I have so much respect for the art form. This is a great way to end the show!
———————————————————————
Thanks so much for reading! And dare I say it, I’m proud of myself for catching up - I think I’m only a week and a half late with this one! Woohoo! 😂

🇳🇬 nigerian dorcas meadowes bc I'm nigerian and I say so: 🇳🇬
- was born (1960) and raised in nigeria until she and her family left to england due to the biafran war (1967).
- is fluent in igbo, and when she speaks english she still has a slight accent.
- incorporates old nigerian spirituality into her magic, making her magic stronger and unrecognizable to british wizards (maybe part of the reason voldemort was intimidated by her 👀)
- smuggles in/has her parents send nigerian foods (jollof rice, fried plantain, fufu, suya etc.) to hogwarts and has her friends try them to see their reactions. I think they'd all pretty much like everything that she brought in but evan ESPECIALLY loves it. like he always begs her to bring more food and when she does he always clears the plate in 2 seconds flat.
- on the topic of plantains, I also hc mary as jamaican and I imagine she and dorcas always get in heated debates on whether it's pronounced plan-TAYN (dorcas) or plan-TIN (mary).
- sometimes when she's in a good mood she'll play igbo highlife music and dance along, and marlene is absolutely smitten when she watches. if the song has words, dorcas translates them from igbo to english for anyone else listening who doesn't understand.

That is completely fine! I’m grateful that you took the time to respond! Thank you so much!!
I was wondering if you could do an African reader (maybe Jamaican) who is very hippie, is vegetarian, maybe does psychedelics or marijuana (but if you don’t want to include that, you don’t have to, for I do respect your requirements and your writing). They can also listen to reggae and artists like The Who, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, etc. They can also have dreadlocks as well. Is Le Comte an easy character for you? If not, that is completely fine! Again, I sincerely apologize if this is too much! You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.😅💕
First of all, I’m sorry it took so long! It was very difficult for me, HSIUEHUASIHEA. But I wanted to try to get out of my comfort zone. It’s in HC format, because it was easier. I’m sorry if it’s not for your liking, but I tried! 🥹
I couldn’t use all the characteristics, because they were really specific, HAIUEHAISUHEAS. And I didn’t want to write something stereotypical with the characteristics I’m not familiar with, so what I used: hippie (I hope I went to the right path with this), vegetarian and uses marijuana (let’s all thanks my husband for providing me what are the effects in an almost daily basis, HASIUEHAS), with Comte.
LESGO! 🤍
Tumblr media
A hippie, vegetarian and marijuana-user reader | Comte
Tags: title is self-explanatory, but... reader smokes weed (do you consider it as drug abuse or nsfw?); gn! reader
Tumblr media
You can’t tell me the weed wasn’t the main reason you ended up there. Your high-distracted mind thought it was a good idea to follow a handsome stranger.
You smell funny, but he doesn’t pry. The thought that you’re a smoker crosses his mind, but he can't figure out why it smells different from Leonardo. You have a scent more like herbs, and— oh… Oh!
“Ma chérie, why would you do that?” He's fine with cigarettes, but he doesn’t like that you smoke weed. However, he has an open mind and is willing to learn more when you tell him it’s not what he thinks. He'll be okay with it after you explain everything you’ve learned about it—how you use it for leisure, but in the future, it could have medical uses. I don’t think he’d try it, though; this is a moment you can share with Leonardo.
You try not to disturb him or anyone else though. You’re usually in your room or outside while smoking. He only knows you did it when sees you with a smile in your face and a lot of snacks in your hands.
You know how you wake up on the first night with a nightmare? Yeah, you were so drowsy that you didn’t even get up, so no one attacked you :D
You might have some trouble finding weed when you arrive, as it's illegal and not well seen. However, you manage to make some friends downtown, so you can buy it more easily now.
You tell him you’ll sleep on the couch on your first night. Comte practically drags you to the bedroom, insisting so much that you should sleep there. It's too fancy for your liking, and you might need to change some things.
He offers to pay for everything you need to redecorate. You scold him fiercely. Didn’t he think about the consequences of spending all his money on futile things? He didn’t. I mean, look at this mansion! Does he look like someone who cares about money and what it can cause?
Cue you starting your TED Talk about capitalism and sustainability. You still try to make him stop burning his money with you or futile things. He’s trying very hard not to buy you a new purse he saw downtown… It’s a work in progress.
You probably won’t even step a foot into a ballroom. Instead, you're outside with the rest of the townspeople, protesting about the nobles' lifestyle and how it’s the rotten core of the system. The whole protest was your idea.
He finds your lifestyle amusing. He always had anything he wanted without any effort, so he’ll try doing things your way. You start a garden in the backyard, saying you like having your seasonings and herbs in hand. “Oh, that’s nice! Sebastian will appreciate it!” He might even try to help you. Wait, that’s not— “Chérie, that’s not basil, is it?” It wasn’t.
The first night when he offered you dinner, you politely refused and said you didn’t eat meat. (Cue Mozart gasping). “Oh…” And then he didn’t know how to explain to you that they were all vampires… He has to do it though, and he’s relieved that you’re not as uncomfortable as he thought you would.
He’s probably the one who understands you better, being a vegetarian. I mean, he never directly drinks blood from a human, so it’s a start… right? … Right? You tell him it’s not the same, but it’s fine. You appreciate him not biting you or others (not without their contract with him, at least). He makes an effort to drink only blanc or eat human food when you’re around, not to make you uncomfortable — even though you’re okay with it. “Comte, I don’t eat meat, it doesn’t mean that you won’t eat it too.”
He has a refined taste, but I don’t think he’s a picky eater. He will try anything you like to eat, from plant-based alternatives to tofu.
Tumblr media
I’m not encouraging anyone to use weed! BUT be responsible if you want to try it, okay? Some studies suggest using it only when you’re 25 or older. And even though it’s legal in some countries, remember that it’s still smoke being blown into your lungs.

Some stuff regarding Angel/Arachne + ATSV
Unlike Miles and Gwen, Angel makes her voice higher when talking to her familiar cop. (Think Sophia from Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions).
Angel has only been through one canon event: Her “Uncle Ben” one. Her Uncle Brandon died in a robbery. (So creative, I know)
Her “Gwen Stacy” is a girl named Jordan Smith. Jordan is a lesbian Jamaican girl with dreads normally worn in a half up.
Hobie calls her Anarchy.
Although she’s generally soft spoken, she doesn’t take bullshit. She can get very fired up if you bring up certain issues (Racism, Homophobia, Bullying, injustices in courts, etc)
Her anger tends to get the better of her during battle, because she frustrates easily. If a villain starts badmouthing her she gets hella fired up and a bit reckless.
The buttons on her palm have multiple settings, including music, which she listens to when she’s on patrol, or sometimes during battle.
Likes to hang out at Pavi and Hobie’s dimension.
Her humor is mainly puns and smart assery. Grammar correction, random facts, etc.
Has ADHD. Despite this does pretty well in school, (A’s and B’s with the occasional C, usually in Math.) This is actually pretty helpful during battle though. Nothing like a Vulture attack to help expend all that energy after school.
Hobie tries to help her get out of her shell and keep her open minded (not that she isn’t). He’ll steal in front of her on purpose and give her mini talks about questioning everything. When she visibly doesn’t agree with something that’s been said he’ll say something like “I don’t think that’s right.” Or “What’s that Anarch????? You don’t agree?????” To kind of prod her into speaking her mind.
Also if she’s having trouble making conversation or jumping into an ongoing conversation he’ll get everyone attention or make breaks for her. “Oi, hush!…Go ahead duck.” “Thanks :)”
Margo is like her favorite person. She is honest, smart, fun, and all around a great friend. And since Angel does better with a small group of close friends she mainly talks to Margo, Pavi, Hobie, Gwen and the Lucky Charms.
Ummmm that’s all for now. Might Reblog this later with some pics.
Since I couldn’t find the post, the lucky charms include
Ansi (@spidey-bie ) Asa ( @suchholydebauchery ) and Angel. @the-cat-and-the-birdie was the one who coined the term :)

what i'm listening to 8/5/2023 (SKAUGUST SPECIAL) (song notes under cut)
spot. link⬛⬜⬛⬜⬛yt link
bonjour tout la monde :3 i see you're all working on that first course...... perhaps you'd like another? :3c
now. this is no ordinary WILT. bc as i've mentioned i have been absolutely INFECTED by the skaucous skanking energy of SKAUGUST!!!! i might do a mini-WILT later in the month with some other stuff i've been listening to, but for now this is an ENTIRELY SKA playlist ^w^ well...... almost entirely. there is one exception, of course....
Laura Les - Skaunted: it's skaunted. by laura les. i really did try to find a ska cover for this but as far as i can tell there is none. get on that, people.
Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Went Numb: very likely my favorite ska song i've ever heard, this one's been with me for a good few years now. there's just such a drama to it, lots of storytelling gravitas rather than just a fun pop song. and the HOOKS they cram into this thing, good lord. the rapid-fire lyrics and layered horn section and difference in dynamics all work so well together.... i always find myself running through the part "i don't wanna hear, i don't wanna be near, i do what i gotta do, just to keep my nose clean" over and over and over again. that and the quiet part "a little something like this, na na na na na na, na na na na na na na" i've never heard a band that made na na na's work as well as these guys, and you can take that as an insult to whichever pop punk band you like if you really want, but one way or another this is a fucking golden track and you HAVE(!!!) to listen to it at least once okay?
No Doubt - Just A Girl: probably one of the most if not just the absolute most commercially and culturally successful moments that ska has had..... and it's not hard to see why. this song is a fucking ALL TIME crusher, it's got hooks for days, the little synth part is all crunchy, it's a bona fide feminist pop anthem, and, if we can all take a second to be real with ourselves here, gwen stefani is an excellent performer for stuff like this. i have no trouble imagining young teen girls in 1995 seeing this shit on mtv for the first time and having their lives and brain chemistries irreversibly changed. this and spiderwebs but there's only so much room in the playlist, folks
Madness - One Step Beyond: considering what we still have yet to get to in this list, it's a real testament to how much i instantly loved this one that it's placed so high. it's goofy as shit but it represents so many things i love about 2 tone. first of all, the just intrusively obvious british lameness of it is quite charming, and also just really interesting from a historical perspective. as we'll see, a lot of 2nd wave ska bands hailed from the uk, likely bc of the genre's connections with new wave, which began largely as a british export. and then with third wave ska, the usa became the new hub of ska music, but i feel like that british influence remained a crucial part of the way ska presented itself even then. very interesting, if you're as big a nerd as me. i feel like this is also a tune where you can hear some of ska's jazz influences, which is awesome to think how this revival movement for jamaican dance music not only preserved its basic rhythm structure but also some of its influences. i ALSO like that it hardly has any words - they were just like here's some of the tastiest fucking riffs you've ever heard and a guy yelling "ONE STEP BEYOND" what else do you need? and i was like nothing 😌 you've given me all i need you bunch of goofy suited skanksters
Catch 22 - 9mm and a Three Piece Suit: i see this one as sort of a companion to everything went numb, which makes sense bc streetlight manifesto actually covered the entirety of keasbey nights at one point. 9mm predates streetlight's stuff by a good number of years, and i do prefer the roughness of the original version. it's more of that very fast-paced storytelling type of songwriting, and i've had this song with me for several years as well. not really much i can say about it that wouldn't be repetitious, but definitely love this one to death as well
Choking Victim - Crack Rock Steady: coming from a background of hardcore heavier music, it makes me so happy that people saw the rise of ska punk and said yeah man we need a way to make this all heavy and nasty too. and we'll sing about killing cops. and they did! ^w^ and so enter the creators of a genre named after this very song (though by my understanding of its influences it could have easily been called "crust ska" - but that wouldn't have been a fun pun now would it?). i just love that you could easily get up and skank to this song, it's very upbeat and lively, but it is also VERY about killing cops. like there is no mistaking that this is cop killing song from first lyric to last. so that's dope. or i guess it's crack
The Specials - A Message to You Rudy: the specials cover an enduring jamaican ska classic... it's a tale as old as time. i love the arrangement on this soooo much, and the pretty and subtle harmonizations. this is almost kind of a dreamy song to me, the way it just floats through the air. that has more to do with the base melody itself, but i do like the dandy livingstone original a lot as well! once again, only so much room on the playlist. the specials join madness as the two bands that i would deem most prominent and influential in the second wave, but i think the specials were a little less new wave and had some more of the original ska spirit in them. not a dis on madness, of course, i've already expressed my enjoyment of them. just an interesting difference between the two
Rancid - Time Bomb: just a girl might be ska's big moment for a lot of people, but for ME, it was time bomb. i heard this one on the radio as a kid, and it was one of the first ska songs i was exposed to, and i LOVE IT. it's definitely a little basic but it just epitomizes the phrase "ska punk" to me. so guitar-forward and with super rough vocals but also so fun and real and bouncy with an absolutely endlessly repeatable chorus. i love you time bomb
We Are The Union - Morbid Obsessions: oh, i'm sorry. did you think i was gonna make a list of my current ska favorites and NOT include a selection from we are the union's 2021 album ordinary life which documents the lead singer's journey and self-discovery? well you thought fucking wrong, dumdum!!!!!!!!!!! this was such a big album for me when i was. uh. how old was i in 2021. when i was like seventeen. i would almost go so far as to say that this album was my "transgender dysphoria blues" if not for the fact that i was also listening to that album a lot around the same time. there were some discoveries happening. but anyways this is such a great little album, i really recommend the whole thing. chewy tasty indie pop with a delightful ska base. and the band even has jer (of skatune network fame) on trombone!! how cool is that!!!! also AGAIN i kept it to only one song but if you only check out one other track from this record, listen to the closer "december." that shit makes me cry
Smash Mouth - Walkin' On The Sun: I'LL ADMIT IT. THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL TIMES THAT I'M GOING TO CHEAT ON THIS WILT. in the sense that this isn't really a ska song - it's a song by a ska band, and has some ska flavor in there as an influence. can you evar forgive me 🥺 but also like. look. it's fuckin smash mouth, okay. and this song is Loaded with them fucking HOOKS babeyyyyy. and it really is interesting, how smash mouth managed to be so commercially successful that they really existed as a goofy corporate pop rock band that had a couple big all-quadrants hits. but like you can feel that they have background in "The Scene." you can practically smell the punk on these guys, the same way you can smell the nu metal on sugar ray. these are always bands that used to be Something Else and that Something Else is undeniably cooler than what they are now, but what they are now is definitely catchier. so. walkin' on the sun! i like this better than all star, for the record, but it could also be a matter of overplay on the latter's part
The Selecter - On My Radio: this and one other song we'll get to are like the epitome to me of how second wave ska had huge crossover with new wave. the first time i heard this one i was kinda like ehhh yeah it's cool i guess. and then after a couple more listens i realized how well constructed of a song it is, and how great the performances are. the lead vocalist here is a real treat, apparently some people call her the "queen of ska" which is fucking awesome. also i love a good song about a radio, especially in retrospect now where it's like eh yeah you darned kids had better learn about what's what on the radio bc back in my day-
Operation Ivy - Sound System: this is like, the birthplace of ska punk/third wave. okay maybe not this particular album, but you could certainly make an argument for that early op ivy ep! point is, they were on the ground floor, and sound system is definitely the catchiest song i've heard from them. and, not dissimilar to songs about radios, i can get behind a song about a sound system! love it! honestly, despite being rough and punky, this song's almost... cute? like aw :) the sound system is the one thing he can depend on. i'm glad he has that kind of relationship in his life!
Less Than Jake - Nervous In The Alley: LTJ is the first ska band that i really became a fan of, probably bc of how accessible they are, particularly to the typical pop punk or skate punk enjoyer. they have three songs in this playlist that i have enough history with to warrant including but i don't have much to say about any of them. the fast part of this song is the best part, obviously
The (English) Beat - Mirror In the Bathroom: it's so funny to me that they're called the english beat but only sometimes. sometimes it's just the beat. i understand why but it amuses me. anyways THIS is the total new wave song i mentioned, and like with on my radio i didn't really "get it" at first. but man, what a track. not only does it have great composition and a delightful balance of new wave polish and ska beat, it's also just kind of a unique concept for a pop song. self-obsession pushed to the point of madness, framed entirely through the listing of different common objects one can look at themselves in while carrying out everyday business. just an interesting little chune :3
Less Than Jake - Bomb Drop: honestly this one could probably go higher i fucking love bomb drop. but once again i don't have much to say about it. i will say that i didn't realize until watching the music video while making this list that this is apparently about like, cyberbullying? the video's kind of lame honestly, but the intentions are good. i've had this song so long i forgot how recent it is, but i guess it's a testament to how consistent LTJ has stayed, and perhaps as a consequence, how little they've changed. you could send this song back to 1998 and apart from the slightly slicker production nobody would bat an eye
Derrick Morgan - Tougher Than Tough (Rudie in Court): had to get at least one first wave song that wasn't a 2 tone cover in here, right? this is another classic that earns the title of "rude boy anthem." without getting too serious, i do think there's something to be said about rude boys' existence as a subculture and the way that blends with the punk ethos later but also how the term exists more in isolation in jamaican ska. as the title suggests, there's definitely an element of getting into trouble here - was that something that inspired the revival of ska at the hands of rock bands later on? i can't say. but i think about it
The Aquabats! - The Shark Fighter!: if i'm 100% honest i don't tend to really like the aquabats. i wish i did but i don't. but this song is sooooo catchy. i did watch the full episode of the super show that the song appears in (which is in the youtube playlist btw) and it was some campy fun but not anything that made me want to watch more. what i will say is that not long ago i was rewatching robbydude's vods of reel fishing: road trip adventure, a vod series that contained a lot of ska references (not the least of which relate to the title and the continued botching of it to instead say "reel big fishing"). but one of the bits was that every time he went to catch a hammerhead he would play this song. so now it's lodged in my head forever. go make the same happen for yourself
Less Than Jake - Goodbye in Gasoline: some b-side action for you. the video for this one that i have in the youtube playlist is so funny, it's from SUPER early youtube and it's just a bunch of stupid random pictures over a low-quality mp3 of the song. there's only two comments and they're both people being like "this is dumb why did you make this." as far as i'm concerned this may as well be the official music video for goodbye in gasoline
Rancid - Hooligans: HOOLIGANS! rancid! RUDE BOYS! rancid! HOOLIGANS! rancid! RUDE BOYS! rancid! on a loop forever in my mind
Lazy Town - We Are Number One: once again i am super cheating bc this shouldn't count as a bonus track really, it's just not on spotify anymore. so whatever there's 20 songs, sue me. i don't need to introduce you to this song but what i do have to say is MAN is this a banger or what?! like yeah it's a kid's song and yeah it's a meme, but i really do love it! i've never seen an episode of lazy town in my life! i remember a tomska & friends video where they did a meme review of the 2010s and tom (who, as you may guess, is a noted ska fan) picked this song for 2018 or whatever fuckin year this blew up, but he noted that while he didn't really have very strong feelings about it one way or another, he had to take the opportunity to be excited that a ska song had become popular online. i can respect that. rest in peace of course to the actor who played robbie rotten, he seemed like a nice man and i'm glad we all are preserving something he worked on so passionately :)
wouaghhh. so that was the skaugust special!!!! thanks for reading, i hope your love of ska is improved by the work we've done here :3 i feel the need to give thanks to the wonderful violet of the gec (hi :3), fellow musicgirl and the creator of skaugust, because. oh man. i have not felt this energized to listen to and talk about music in MONTHS. in case you were confused about the thing i said about a first course earlier, go check out vi's batch of songs for some more certified bangers. do it NOW. okay thankies see you next month ^w^

THE PERSEVERANCE
Love is the man overstanding Peter Tosh
I wait outside The Perseverance. Just popping in here a minute. I’d heard him say it many times before like all kids with a drinking father watch him disappear into smoke and laughter.
There is no such thing as too much laughter, my father says, drinking in The Perseverance until everything disappears — I’m outside counting minutes, waiting for the man, my father to finish his shot and take me home before
it gets dark. We’ve been here before, no such thing as too much laughter unless you’re my mother without my father, working weekends while The Perseverance spits him out for a minute. He gives me 50p to make me disappear.
50p in my hand, I disappear like a coin in a parking meter before the time runs out. How many minutes will I lose listening to the laughter spilling from The Perseverance while strangers ask, where is your father?
I stare at the door and say, my father is working. Strangers who don’t disappear but hug me for my perseverance. Dad said this will be the last time before, while the TV spilled canned laughter, us, on the sofa in his council flat, knowing any minute
the yams will boil, any minute, I will eat again with my father, who cooks and serves laughter good as any Jamaican who disappeared from the Island I tasted before overstanding our heat and perseverance.
I still hear popping in for a minute, see him disappear. We lose our fathers before we know it. I am still outside The Perseverance, listening for the laughter.

Love a Rap Queen like Cardi, Nicky, Megan thee Stallion, and prefers listening to female rappers to male ones.
Soft spot for musicals including animated ones, so expect a whole playlist dedicated to the classics.
Also loves rock music, especially the ones that were popular during his teenage years like Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Blink-182, The Killers
CLASSIC PUNK - The Clash, Sex Pistols, Frenzal Rhomb
*we love headcanons, so if it's not something backed up in the game, it's a HC, also a lot of this info isn't available in the game, so we do have to go off of our own experiences and thoughts for a number of things*

Heyy! this is just a small(ish) rant that I though wouldn't nesseserily relate with, but you understand and could possibly give me some advice on.
so basically, I know your Colombian and so am I (well half because of my mum). my dad is Jamaican and I was born in Jamaica, then after of a year of me being there my family and me moved to England so I was raised there. but the problem is that my family was never ever practiced my Colombian side/culture.
dont get me wrong, I love the Jamaican culture and how strong and passionate Jamaicans are, but ive always wanted to embrace my Colombian side and im looking to do that more by my self now im a little over and I can make my own decisions.
I honestly have no idea about my Colombian side and surprisingly my mum had never really claimed it. so I know NOTHING about it. I really wanna learn more about it and wanna learn Spanish but I have no idea on where to start so im seeing if you maybe have any advice for me on what to do? I LOVE YOU!!!
Uhm well, first of all, bienvenida hermana colombiana... let's see, you can start by looking for what specific place your mom is from and from there see what traditions are specific to her place of birth, because in every region of Colombia, traditions are different. But uh, I'll make a small list of festivities that we do around here in the whole country…
We have Día de Velitas, we celebrate it on December 7th and it has a religious connotation, but you don't necessarily have to be catholic to celebrate it, you just get together with your family and light candles (each candle you light can be a wish or goal for the next year), there is food such as buñuelos and natilla.
Our Independence Day is July 20, not much is done on that day, it is a holiday and usually, at least in the capital, there is a parade of military aircraft.
We celebrate Christmas on December 24, or something like that, that day we wait until midnight to open the presents and have dinner with the family.
We have Holy Week too, usually in schools and universities they give all that week as a little vacation, everything is very religious, I personally do not celebrate that week but if you do it's ok.
Oh, we also have 18 to 20 holidays throughout the year, so those days we are not going to study or work, since Colombia is the country of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, all those holidays belong to saints or martyrs. As I mentioned, I don't believe in any of that, so those days are for resting hehe.
You mentioned that you want to learn Spanish, that's great, although I warn you that it can be a bit complicated language because it has too many grammatical rules, but if you want to start, listening to music in Spanish with subtitles helps a lot, you can also use Duolingo, it's a classic and if you can afford classes or get a tutor, it would be the best, but if not, learning empirically on your own also works, that's how I learned English.
I hope this is helpful, I was a little surprised when I saw your question and I wanted to answer as best as possible, if you have more questions, do not hesitate to write me on dm.
You know friend, if you need anything, text me :D
