Rezension: “Tagebuch der Apokalypse 1″ von J. L. Bourne
Tagebuch der Apokalypse 1 by J.L. Bourne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Der Niedergang der Menschheit - und ein Haufen Zombies. Willkommen in der Apokalypse!
Der Roman wird von David Nathan gelesen und allein deswegen mag ich ihn zumindest mal, lol. Kleiner Scherz am Rande, denn bei einem Roman soll es ja um die Geschichte gehen und weniger darum, wie es sich so anhört. Der Titel ist hier also zunächst Programm: Ein Soldat führt ein Tagebuch der Apokalypse. Das bringt ein paar Aspekte mit sich, die man sich eigentlich schon vorher hätte denken bzw. erwarten können.
1. Soldaten stelle ich mir in der Regel eher so wie einen Typen vor, der "auf Zack ist", sich nicht mit Überflüssigen Krempel abgibt, aufs Wesentliche fokussiert bleibt. Dementsprechend kompakt und nüchtern gestalten sich die Tagebucheinträge des Protagonisten.
2. Bei einer solche Zombie-Apokalypse erwarte ich - gerade in Bezug auf die Zombies! - viel Blut, Gewalt, persönliche Ängste und den Kampf ums pure Überleben - kurzum: Spannung und blutige Action von vorne bis hinten.
Nun scheint es klar zu werden, dass diese beiden Faktoren nicht so ganz miteinander harmonieren können: Wer nüchterne Tagesberichte abliefert, lässt eine ganze Menge aus, das liegt in der Natur der Sache. Deshalb fand ich den Roman letzten Endes zwar recht nett und durchaus mit interessanten Stellen gespickt. Aber ganz überzeugt hat mich das Gesamtkonzept nicht - trotz tollem Sprecher und einer interessanten Umsetzungsidee mit dem Tagebuch. Ich glaube nicht, dass ich die Reihe fortsetzen werde.

The chaos and absurdity of the beat on “Comfort of my Car”--my #1 rap pick--always brings to mind my continuing, frantic attempt at navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. But DJ Lucas sounds in control; undaunted, exuberant, hopeful? Makes me feel good. The only times I really remember forgetting about the pandemic involved smoking weed and listening to Lucas and Papo2oo4′s Dirty Designer. Babyface Ray, Yeat, and Veeze seem to be the best rappers right now, although Veeze didn’t release much this year. Mach-Hommy’s record was phenomenal. Big Wan in the 50th spot because it seems so senseless to “rank” his music. So much death this year, but his hit me harder than most.
