dick is constantly made to be the prime example of how dc is shit when it comes to male rape survivors and continues to either make them the but of the joke or hypersexualise them

i've already talked about how hbo changed the name in a gag they made abt tarantula raping nightwing - making him out to be whiny and implying no one cared about what happened

and now theyre continuing to hypersexualise him apparently making it a "major plot point" in season 4

was a fan of this show for how they changed ivys character from the sexualised female rapist to a chill, clothed, eco-terrorist activist that isnt a rapist (honestly one of the only iterations i can stand watching her in as it isnt insanely triggering like most of the dcau versions)

but whats the point if they continue to maintain the narrative that male survivors are constantly a joke? that theyre weak, whiny, annoying? that no one cares? honestly shame on dc- again

Talia is a horrible person

First point, she r***ed Bruce in Son of Batman, and everyone just glosses over it. It doesn’t matter how she did it, it’s the face she did it at all. What she did was wrong and she deserves to be called out for it. Men and women both get SA and it’s horrible. Her calling Bruce “Beloved” doesn’t change anything. I’m not even getting into how she groomed Jason in that one comic. And just in case anyone says anything about Poison Ivy, I don’t like her either.

Secondly, even if you take out the SA, saying it was just character assassination, she’s still a bad person. In my opinion, the League of Assassins is basically a cult, so it’s definitely not a good environment to be in. Even if Talia cares about Damian, she still didn’t treat him right by raising him as a weapon, not letting him be a kid. He’s the way his is because of his upbringing. She’s definitely manipulative too, with how she talks to people and the way she acts.

Now there is the fact she kills people, but honestly that’s not really the worst thing out there, so I’ll ignore that. (Especially because Jason is one of my favorite characters and he’s got a kill count-)

Overall, I think she’s a horrible human being, and I feel like people should treat her like the terrible person she is, and that she would not be a good mom or a part of the batfam. My personal hot take, thanks for hearing me out.

Don't get me wrong I love the Joker, he is one of the best villains ever made but I will never understand why movie makers choose to use him over and over again and do him so dirty at some point (just look at Suicide Squad) when Batman has so many great antagonists? Take Mr Freeze for example, he has a tragic yet simple backstory which would fit perfectly in a movie but no they think of weird stuff themselves instead of just taking the great material they already have, ugh it just makes me go, why?? How unfair that we never got to see a badass Poison Ivy on a cinema screen

It's LackaCrazy!! (The Lackadaisy Phenomenon Of 2 Million Dollars)

Last night, the Lackadaisy Backerkit for funding for Season 1 hit it's final goal of 2 MILLION DOLLARS, and ended up even surpassing it! With the help of 16,000+ backers, and everyone's support, we've done it. Thank you so much to everyone who backed it, and to everyone who gave the project their support.

Lackadaisy gives me faith in humanity, honestly. To see a heartfelt project get this much support that allows for it to be the best it can be makes me so happy. To see people worldwide get together to see something as silly as "Prohibition Era Gangsters But They're Cats" makes me smile so much.

Lackadaisy is a series that has made so many people happy, and it's been here since 2006. Long time fans that are not adults have seen the progress of the series as the years have gone by. Newer fans who joined because of the pilot tagging along for the ride. Friends and family of fans who have heard about it because of them. Everyone who has heard about and/or been a part of the Lackadaisy journey in some way, all of us make up a community of people coming together for something immaculate.

I hold Lackadaisy quite close to my heart. It's brought me great joy! I've met so many friends through Lackadaisy (I'm looking at yall- Star, Ari, Oddie, Roo, Sam, other Star, Wilma, everyone else there is so many of yall <3), and I've strengthened bonds with my current friends by telling them about Lackadaisy (Looking at yall- Remy, Leah, even some of my teacherz aha-)! It's a warm thing that brings people together, that's what Lackadaisy is.

There's so much passion that comes from Lackadaisy. Passion from Tracy, Fable, Newt, the whole team in their work. Passion from the fans with our fanart, fanfics, fan-ocs, words, and works of art in general. I've seen things and sides of humanity in Lackadaisy that I have never seen with many other things.

I am so proud to be a part of the Lackadaisy Fandom/Community/Family. It's a lifetime experience that has allowed me to have hope and see things that I never would have seen if I was not a part of this. There are a lot of little things that make Lackadaisy feel heartfelt. From the LackaLivestreams Tracy and the cast do, to how the Lackadaisy team keep up with the tag on multiple platforms, all these little efforts made make this fandom feel so seen.

The Lackadaisy Phenomenon of how 16,000+ people worldwide got together and raised 2 Million dollars for silly boozecat show is history, and we made it! This right here is the future of Indie Animation.

While Lackadaisy is definitely one of the silliest fandoms ever, I love it so much for that. We love to have fun here, and go LackaCrazy!!!!!!!

They would literally tie them all up to rockets and shoot them into the sun the moment they could. Harley has killed dozens if not hundreds of kids with exploding video games and did so without Joker’s influence. Ivy nearly killed Damien while teamed with Croc.

Both of these women hate Batman and his fucking kids, stop pretending that they’d be “cool wine aunts” and “parental figures” and “the safe rogues to go to for help”.

"You can live a normal life. Fall in love."

I think this scant piece of ranting says a LOT about how Bruce sees Batman. It's not just a duty. It's a curse. Your blessings are also your damnations. Bruce thinks that you cannot fall in love while you are a vigilante (despite COUNTLESS EVIDENCE THAT DISPROVES THIS - Dick and Babs, Clark and Lois, Ollie and Dinah, etc.)

But Bruce has a very myopic viewpoint that leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy. He hasn't had success in romance as Batman. It's Batman's fault. He can't give up Batman. Ergo, he cannot 'find love' in the nuclear family, heteronormative sense because of Batman.

Let's look at the three 'greatest loves' of Batman's life according to his and Ghostmaker's trip into his psyche.

Selina Kyle. Talia al Ghul. Poison Ivy.

I'll work backwards. Ivy is a placeholder because she was never really his. She never loved him, and his love for her was chemically induced. But he has her there, why? Maybe to say that it doesn't work out because she chose someone else.

Talia. The mother of his child who is also the Demon's Head. It would never work because of his strict code against killing and her ambivalence towards it. Ironically, they have the healthiest relationship imo that probably was born from necessary co-parenting. While they don't care for what the other does, they respect and care for each other and have deep history. He thinks if he can't make it work with the mother of his kid, who can he make it work with?

Selina Kyle. Probably the closest (at this point in canon) Bruce has ever come to having a relationship that works. But every time it looks like it'll be a sure hit, something gums up the works. Most of the time, it's each other as there are key aspects of their identity that neither are willing to compromise for. And usually, when there is a compromise, it's usually on Selina's part whereas Bruce can continue being Batman. That puts a huge power imbalance in the relationship. It doesn't work out because Selina will always be drawn back to crime, and Batman will have to stop her. Bruce supposes that's what you get for falling for a criminal.

In all three, Bruce creates logical reasons why Batman is incapable of having a relationship and uses that to justify why he cannot have romance in his life. Why having this duty is a curse. Why he is showing love by getting his kids 'out' of the life, through whatever means necessary.

However, with Selina taking a chunk out of crime through a grey method, she is pulling at a foundational aspect of his personality - I'd argue the safety net Bruce created for himself when he was that boy in the alley - and, in turn, making the Batman/Zur persona go nuts. Zur sees her methods not a way to help Gotham but as an attack on him since, if this can save Gotham what is the point of Batman? What was the point of Bruce's vow? What was it all for?

Zur is giving Bruce a reason to keep going, to keep putting on the mask, so he doesn't have to confront what's under the mask when there's no crime to fight. To deal with his personal life and relationships and mhi that need to be dealt with.

And Selina and the Batfamily are right, this shouldn't have turned into a war. They shouldn't be fighting. This is an unforseen side effect of them fulfilling Bruce's wish which is to make Gotham safe when, in reality, maybe thats not what Batman wants because what safe Gotham would need Batman?

Almost like when in Infinite Crisis, Superman of earth one asks his earth two counterpart: "if your earth was perfect, why did it need a superman?"

A safe Gotham doesn't need a Batman and, after all the stress and trauma Bruce has suffered since he put on that cowl, he is not ready to hang it up. It is his burden and his joy. As much as he grouses about the crime and how much work it is to keep Gotham 'clean' he hates sitting on his hands with nothing to do.

Ironically, Batman of Zur En Arrh reminds me of what happened to Robin in Teen Titans Go! in 'Uncle Jokes' when Starfire started acting like Cyborg and Beast Boy, breaking the natural order of how he saw the world and making him go cuckoo. The same thing is happening to Bruce.

He needs to realize that he can still be Batman but he can also not be in control. That Bruce is the one stopping him from finding 'love' in a traditional sense, not Batman. That he has love and a family and he does not need to keep pushing everyone away because he thinks it's better for them and he knows best.

Batman is Gotham's greatest hero, Bruce Wayne's love, but he's also Bruce's greatest rogue. Duality.

(Imma be talking about being depressed and a suicide attempts that deeply affected me here in a sec so be warned) Putting a cut for anyone who just scrolls my blog and doesn't want to see this stuff.

Can I just be mushy for five seconds? I love when y'all interact with me and I get to see how excited some people are just to see what I can cook up.

Like, last year was one of the worst years of my life. I lost friends last year after one of my ex-college friends attempted suicide TWICE. I drove HOURS to go see her and her family. After talking to her, she agreed to get help and was put away into a hospital to looked after while getting help.

I tried being as supportive and keeping in contact with her as much as I possibly could she broke our friendship off. (Which at the time I was angry about and I still am to an extent but I just hope she's still getting the help she clearly needed.)

That was almost a year ago...

I fell into a deep depression that made an episode come along (Started September last year) and I've gotten somewhat better but it's still touch and go some days. But I'm feeling better than I was thankfully.

Now I get to come on here and speak stupid shit about a fictional man who I think is hot to a bunch of strangers online. This year so far has been miles better than last year was.

So thanks for listening to my bullshit, it takes me a lot to actually want to be friends with people and I know it don't really know any of you that well but I still consider y'all my friends
