Tarkovsky’s films are not for everyone. It’s not an easy cinema, his films are full of metaphors and hidden meanings in which you have to search and listen carefully to be focused to hear it, to notice it and to understand it. It’s poetic and yet philosophic. It’s not a cinema for „netflix and chill” it’s something more. His production were made to be called this is the „art” the masterpiece not just a film to watch in evening, but to turn your feelings on, to make a flame of mixed emotions.

It seems to make me return to the place, poignantly dear to my heart, where my grandfather's house used to be in which I was born 40 years ago right on the dinner table. Each time I try to enter it, something prevents me from doing that. I see this dream again and again. And when I see those walls made of logs and the dark entrance, even in my dream I become aware that I'm only dreaming it. And the overwhelming joy is clouded by anticipation of awakening. At times something happens and I stop dreaming of the house and the pine trees of my childhood around it. Then I get depressed. And I can't wait to see this dream in which I'l be a child again and feel happy again because everything will still be ahead, everything will be possible…
Solaris (1972) / Mirror (1975) / Nostalgia (1983) / The Sacrifice (1986) dir. Andrei Tarkovsky

pulling myself briefly out of the depression pit to say i don't think it's fair to say ivan is outright violent towards till or shows his affection through violence bc in every piece of media that shows them fighting ( that i can find at least ) till always turns things physical first
not that ivan doesn't instigate by doing or saying things that might provoke him ( intentionally or otherwise ) but aside from touching till's injury in one of the r6 flashbacks he doesn't seem to be physically hurting him for attention. i think the fight scene in r6 is also the only time we've even seen him retaliate

Nickolai Burlyaev as Ivan in Ivans Childhood (1962). Critic Ivor Montagu wrote in Sight and Sound "The film is not disfigured by the unnaturally cheery or the conventionally hysterical. With one blow it annuls a whole cinematheque of the war films of all lands."

Ivan's Childhood (Andrei Tarkovsky) vs Green Border (Agnieszka Holland)
not sure if the Tarkovsky scene was an inspiration, but there is an eery resemblence considering the subject and context of both films and the particular scenes having a powerful impact on the viewer

thinking about alien stage ace attorney au.....
it would be great to have mizi as a defense attorney and sua as the prosecutor methinks....... childhood friends who where torn apart after sua found mizi at a crime scene (sua erased all evidence and distanced herself)
ALSO IVAN AS THE DETECTIVE!!!!! hyuna would also make a great detective but ivan sua worst coworkers on earth save me
anyways so hyuna takes the place of mia (NOT DEAD) but here's the thing. who's the weird girl?!?!?!
its till. till would be the best weird girl companion ever. he makes funny comments about all the witnesses and tries to pick a fight with detective ivan. he stuck around after mizi saved him from being framed in the middle of his music competition (crushing on her rip)
i feel like luka is also a prosecutor (manfred von karma 100% guilty rate style) hyuna da and luka prosecuted is good....... throwing him in jail for the murder of hyun woo that hyuna has been unearthing for years........
