I want to be a teacher as my career path.. but like... it's not even a problem of the state of education but like. Of fear. My experience in school has been pretty good but also sheltered - I hadn't even seen a vape until my senior year. But all of the things I hear in my country, even just my county- it's terrifying. Like how do I go into a profession where children could bring a gun to school and shoot me. How do I go into work when my student was stabbed by another one, to death? How do I begin to deal with the threat of a bomb, mostly sure it's not a reality, but not quite certain enough to turn the lights back on?

This is the thing that I love, that I am drawn to, that I know is meant for me and a worthwhile hardship on my own. But how do I reconcile with the growing harshness of the world we live in? I can grade papers, I can deal with attitude, I can console a crying student, but I cannot look the barrel of a gun in the face. Gun violence is the main reason we have a teaching crisis in America. Wages need to be increased, for SURE, the pay is abysmal, but what is keeping people away more than anything is the cold reality that we shouldn't have to face.

first of all, watching every season through, you are an absolute madman but i respect you. o7

and as for who you should watch, that depends on what you like. personally, i prioritize grian. i'm a builder myself, and i really appreciate what he does, his style is very appealing to me. i also LOVE his mischevious little personality. every episode is interesting with that guy. grian started in season six, so you'd only have three seasons to watch plus the current one.

i also watch mumbo. he's a redstoner and i dont understand a single thing he's talking about, Ever. but i still enjoy his content because he manages to make everything really funny just by virtue of being mumbo jumbo. i can't describe it, you've got to watch him at work to understand what's so endearing about him.

scar is an absolutely wonderful man, a godsend really. he's super positive and cheerful. his videos are always warm and welcoming, and super fun. he's a fantastic builder, and his specialty is trees, one of which he's currently living in this season. he dies a lot. its pretty funny. he's also friends with grian, which combined with his accident-prone nature, means he suffers, lol.

doc is another that i watch sometimes. he breaks the game on a technical level and is usually in an arms race with mojang themselves, as every time he releases a video exploiting a part of their code it's patched by the time the next video comes out. he's a super chill kind of guy in the way he speaks, but he has absolutely no chill when it comes to being the most insane game-breaker. his skin includes a lab coat for a reason; he's the minecraft equivalent of a mad scientist.

i've also been watching tango lately. i really love the music for his intro, and how much fun he has! he recently made a piglin trading farm that was a ferris wheel (an actual moving one!) even though it was super inefficient... and he's also currently making the server's nether hub, and it looks AWESOME. he also accidentally released a bunch of withers from his wither farm, which was chaos. if there's a surplus of nether stars/beacons on the server, thats just because of the insanity that is tango's wither farm.

uhhh honestly, i think the best way to choose a hermit to watch is to just watch a video or two from each! check out the current season and see who appeals to you. i'm not the best source of information since i only watch a few hermits. these are just my personal favorites, but there are tons more that could be your hermit ^^

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).

Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

I just think that 'animals are living intelligent creatures that have feelings and deserve to be respected' and 'when done properly farming is beneficial to both people and animals and there's nothing wrong with raising and killing animals for food, clothing, and other products' are concepts that very much can and should coexist

This isn't about how many languages you speak, but how many youre able to count up to at least 10 in, since basic numbers are some of the first words you learn in a foreign language and sometimes you catch them without having studied the language at all
