NGL, I sincerely hope that the hiatus IDW sonic will go through means that it’s on its way out. I don’t want the IDW staff to lose their jobs, but it’s very apparent that IDW sonic isnt doing well, I genuinely hope that the IDW sonic staff can find work, but otherwise I won’t be losing sleep over “Mr principles” and sally sheeples
Yeah. I've never threatened violence on the crewmembers or demanded for them to be homeless or whatever. All I want is for them to simply fuck off elsewhere and let more competent and humble sorts handle the cast. I don't think that's unreasonable.
As for the comic itself, I'm not the kind to be all "Is this the end of IDW Sonic??? (Not Clickbait)" the moment anyone coughs, but for the main comic to just suddenly peace out for months while the Fang series goes underway would be a very strange thing for a healthy comic to do, no?

lets be clear here. its not about whether jews have an ancestral claim to the land. this isnt indigenous vs settler because jewish people have no history or ties to the region. the reason the state of israel and the ideology of zionism is not (and can never be) about jewish self determination is because the foundation of the zionism is, in the words of theodor herzl (regarded basically as the father/creator of zionism) himself, "a colonial project." as in its about coming to land already inhabited, forcibly removing the inhabitants, and settling there, and this is reinforced by his approach of england for help in this (not palestine! bc there is no interest in peace with palestinians, which is why nothing but the dismantling of israel wholesale will fix this) because "it is something colonial." (source 1, source 2, source 3)
the palestinians are not indigenous to the land of what is right now called israel purely because they have always, unwaveringly forever been there, its because they were living there when zionists came to implement the settler-colonial project of the state of israel. indigenity is not mystical claims to a land and ancestral ties that the settlers do not have and makes them inherently the morally correct owners of the land, its that they were literally the inhabitants of the land that people (settlers) forced them out of in order to live there themselves (to settle). the decolonize palestine project is correct:
If we reject the “we were there first” argument, and not treat it as a legitimizing factor for Israel’s creation, then we can focus on the real history, without any ideological agendas. We could trace how our pasts intersected throughout the centuries. After all, there is indeed Jewish history in Palestine. This history forms a part of the Palestinian past and heritage, just like every other group, kingdom or empire that settled there does. We must stop viewing Palestinian and Jewish histories as competing, mutually exclusive entities, because for most of history they have not been. These positions can be maintained while simultaneously rejecting Zionism and its colonialism. After all, this ideologically driven impulse to imagine our ancestors as some closed, well defined, unchanging homogenous group having exclusive ownership over lands corresponding to modern day borders has nothing to do with the actual history of the area, and everything to do with modern notions of ethnic nationalism and colonialism.
this is something i had trouble understanding for a long while, because i know of the jewish history in palestine, and i was thinking of indigenous as simply "the people who were there first" and settlers as the unconnected people coming into the land - because this is the common understanding pushed when it comes to indigenity and is echoed in much of the phrases im familiar with with native american activism ("we were here first" "land back" "first americans" "the originals" ..) especially in discussions of land and connection to land, where settlers have no history or ties to the land other than their colonial project. zionists may have ancestral history/ties to this land but that doesnt make them the indigenous people in this situation, they are still settlers despite their history with the land.
because its not about "who was here first" its about the violence needed to make settler-colonial projects happen. ethnic cleansing, apartheid, & genocide are natural components of a settler-colonial project. the violence of ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and genocide on the palestinian people is what this issue is about, and is what means israel should not and cannot exist. because the foundation of the state of israel and the foundations of zionism are predicated on violence - they depend on the expulsion of the palestinian people

thinking about. that yugioh pokemon fusion thats been rattling around in my head. its been a few days.
so like, i know that yugioh and pokemon games have just been a thing. who wouldnt match yugioh, a series about games, with one of the most popular game franchises in the world.
but like, there are very few fics where its yugioh characters who live in a pokemon world. the true pokemon au that yugioh dm deserves.
anyway im a puzzleshipping fiend (im not sorry) so things have been rattling around my brain for a while.
imagine:
atem, the undefeated pokemon champion, took the pokemon training and battling world by storm at a young age, his elite four are rumored to be the toughest that the pokemon world has seen in decades.
yuugi, a young man trying to popularize a new form of bonding/competing with your pokemon through collaborative games rather than head to head battle, who might also be atem’s childhood friend who then got yeeted to another region.
atem goes to visit another region for Pokemon Champ (TM) reasons and ends up running into yuugi’s grandpa’s shop. where yuugi happens to be hosting a demo or small competition for his new pokemon trainer games. idk what to call it. games where people compete with their pokemon but it isnt beating each other up. i think yuugi just doesnt like violence and ends up creating these games because he loves pokemon and bonding with them and games. i also think he should be able to keep his game designer roots in every au, he deserves it.
anyway, atem, who has been bored with pokemon battles lately, ends up joining. only to be faced with his old friend that he hasnt seen in years. and who he has been having a very very hard time forgetting (because pinning idk i just read romance not write it). but chooses to ignore that because yuugi also lowkey doesnt react to him at all. but he has fun! he has fun for the first time in a while! but then he has to leave because of Pokemon Champ Business (TM) and hes sad.
so cue his ace pokemon running away from him because atem has been Not Himself lately. as in being pokemon champion has changed him for the worse because pokemon politics ig??? im just pulling from my memories of “red being champion was not good for him so he runs away to a snowy mountain for years” fics because i feel like that applies. expect instead of running off to a mountain, atem just becomes really mean. and cruel. think s0 vibes. (ignore the fact that s0 atem was not that bad and hes honestly my favorite flavor of atem).
so atem’s ace pokemon have broken into the muoto family shop and yuugi is desperately trying to figure out how to contact atem to get them back. (yes he does rememebr atem, he just thought atem wouldnt care to be his friend again/forgot him, so he didnt really talk to atem during the day). cue um romance! and angst! and drama! and fluff!
idk i really like the canon yuugi-atem character arcs and dynamic. they build each other up and change each other for the better. i want that be come across in that au. even though i basically havent explained anything about it. i just really like the premise i set up for it. (no i probably will never write it, but i like sharing my thoughts). (feel free to write it if you want idk if people care enough for that tho lol).
atem is someone who has lost himself in the bitterness and cutthroat nature of the pokemon competitive battling circle, seeing people mistreat their pokemon and how there is so little of what made pokemon battling fun to him in the first place. and yuugi, who was lowkey ostracized for not being interested in the traditional pokemon battling culture even though he proved to be a really good pokemon trainer and battler, so he found solace in the games his grandpa would send him and share those with his pokemon. which then inspired him to create games that people could play with and along side pokemon, but he never had the confidence to introduce it to anyone past the small town he moved to after his parents’ divorce. (why am i putting all the yuugi backstory in here? idk hes just a kid with divorced parents, so his mom took him back to her home region to live with his maternal grandpa and changed his last name to his mother’s maiden name).
but then atem and yuugi meet again! different than they were as kids (i have more on that but idk where to put it), but nonetheless still them and they want to connect again but scared to reach out. until one stray ace pokemon forces them to connect again. atem is reminded of why he loved pokemon battling in the first place and sees it again in the games that yuugi creates. yuugi finds that confidence he needs to really spread his wings through atem’s influence and encouragement. theyre a dream team fr fr.
anyway final notes that i dont have a place to put:
atem’s elite four are his canon priests, idk how it would work but i think having mahad and mana on there would be hilairous
yuugi’s first pokemon and ace pokemon is a gengar nicknamed yami (as inspired by this post)
i like to think of it as baby yuugi being very lonely in a new region and ends up hanging around some of the more dusty corners of his grandpa’s shop, and then one night a stray ghastly pops by and used its smoke to copy his hair and theyve been inseparable since
yami is also insanely protective of yuugi and scared his bullies off for him, and was very very not happy about a powerful pokemon (atem’s ace pokemon) breaking into the shop to cuddle up with his partner
yami and yuugi definitely have a gengar megastone btw
also yuugi has a garchomp nicknamed gandora whose yami’s second in command. i just love gandora a lot pls understand i adore the idea of yuugi being a little guy who just casually summons Gandora The Dragon Of Destruction on his opponents
atem’s ace pokemon is a ghost type, idk im thinking cofagrigus, because, its fitting
he also has a legendary he can just call upon, it just likes him and atem gives it treats every time it shows up (idk which legendary tho, but giratina could be a fun choice)
the Gang (TM) are yuugi’s friends that he made after he moved to the new region and are fairly wary of atem at first, but like they warm up eventually because yuugi likes him
kaiba is there still, and very rich and techy at that, and also the yuugi’s region’s pokemon champion who constantly challenges atem to pokemon battles and lives in yuugi’s town
i like to think steven stone but kaiba, which is to say rich and still makes his incredibly advanced and insane tech, but also really good at pokemon battling
kaiba also really likes yuugi’s game btw, but he never participates because of his trauma (winning? winning in some lame game? no winning only counts if its in a pokemon battle, thats the only way i can show my worth and validate myself) (no kaiba-kun, you just need therapy and some friends, pls let me be your friend and we can play games together)
yuugi and atem were friends as kids and they bonded over their love of games and pokemon, really yuugi was the one who inspired atem to become a pokemon trainer and atem was the one who inspired yuugi to make games, but then the Divorce (TM) happened
no atem didnt go looking for yuugi, its been like 15 years, yuugi probably has his own life now and doesnt need a reminder from the past probably definitely yeah
i think that atem’s pokemon like yuugi more than they like atem
teehee yes im a sucker for that trope, sue me
yeah i like pokemon aus, so what. no but i think about this every now and then and it gives me serotonin, thus i share with you.

started reading chainsaw man (august 1st). here re my thoughts
what if denji / chainsaw man isnt actually super important or anything and shark fiend is the devil equivalent of your friend who gets Really Into local ska bands. denji isnt important sharkguy just really likes underground unimportant devils and when pochita WAS hanging around the devil scene he was super dope.
bomb devil (forgot her name) was so good. such a good character. i love her. i have the page where she says 'I've never gone to school either.' bookmarked because that's such. That's such a hard hitting line. Because the reason denji never went to school is because he was working around the clock constantly and never had a childhood. bomb devil never went to school because she was working around the clock constantly and never had a childhood. it makes me shake like a wet rat it's so . it means everything to me i think.
makima and everyone is just 'kishibe: i went to 'everybody fucking hates you and wants you dead' island and everybody who knows a single thing about you was there. denji: i wasnt there. power: tis my island! i have mine own seaside cottage there with cats! and hookers!'
speaking of makima. idk her deal but FUCK i love her. shes so good. whatevr the hell shes doing i love the way the author is doing it.
kobeni (pathetic girl) is like. almost fun. but she just doesnt hit it for me ig. i like it when shes competent though thats great. i loved her friendship with .. violence fiend? i think? that was really nice and sweet i liked it.
i'm loving it. the art style slaps and it has a bunch of women and it treats them like people and its just. its really good.

13 and 25 for star wars! (pretty sure we follow each other for sw dfgh)
hi yes we do!!!
13. worst blorbofication ok so this could be a bit predictable given my tag rant on your post the other day but. Fives. yep. its my boy. its worst blorbofication for me because everyone adores him and he is blorbo from their show but its NOT HIM. they have made him 2 dimensional. they have flattened my boy. he is a blorbo and nothing else.
for a bit more of an unexpected response i think maybe Tup? sort of? like. he often gets portrayed as peoples soft boy because hes one of the younger clones that gets any sort of focus but hes actually another one who becomes super competent really quite fast. he gets the blorbo treatment because hes a contrast to Dogma and they get introduced at the same time.
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing ok so. everyone always complains about Echo not being more emotional in tbb when Rex mentions Fives. but its not like this is immediately after either. i feel like if it had been a topic that came up in the bad batch arc of tcw then id be on board with the complaints, but a decent amount of time has passed, so of course Echo isnt going to be on the verge of tears when he hears Fives being brought up or anything. it may not be the smoothest dialogue out there but the problem isnt Echo not being upset enough.
tysm for the ask!
send a question choosing violence!

Not that I ever expected greatness but the FNAF movie sucked on multiple levels. Even if you try to squint and give some generosity to the production, i feel like the direction itself is just flawed to its base.
Most importantly I feel like all the charm and appeal of FNAF is entirely lost here. The movie simple isnt scary at ANY point and leans more as a suspense-comedy than anything else. There's no horror of basically any magnitude. The restaurant quickly loses any sense of creepiness as we get so accustomed with the limited set and rarely get to see anything that made the original restaurant in FNAF so unsettling; the animatronics look way too good and function way more like a regular robots to actually scare anyone, way too much emotion from them -- on top of the fact that we get very familiar with them as characters. They don't use compelling angles enough to sell the creepy-animatronic factor, and we dont see them in regular action to ever get that feeling of "oh god, these corpse robots are interacting with people."
There's basically no gore except cuts, only one James Bond-style death trap, and a VERY campy silhouette death. There is so much potential in this factor, all the gears and machinery that could be used to create horrible situations... but none of that is properly utilized. Violent engagements with the animatronics are just a matter of a guy in a suit pushing other people around. The most violence you get is the fucking cupcake toy, which is just a straight up ghoulie I guess, it's the only competent threat in the movie and is way overused.
But then on top of all this........... get this, there really isn't enough jumpscares in this movie. Which is so fucked up! It's normally too easy for movies to include too many jumpscares... but here, there's such a disappointing lack of them. Jumpscares is so much what FNAF is, if any movie was gonna have too many jumpscares and get away with it, this is the one!! And yet we only get three in the entire movie, including a mid-credits scene, and they're ALL THE SAME GAG. Ugh! The animatronics are supposed to be surprising and hard to see, not henchmen for a Batman villain.
And then the comedy, of which there is too much of, just doesnt normally hit. I giggled more at just the fact that I was watching a FNAF movie than I did at any intentional gag. And this sucks so much too because humor is also a key part to the FNAF feeling, how so many times it can surprise you with such a good joke, or refresh you after a scare by providing something funny in between. That just isnt present here, you just get regular old Hollywood humor, at best it's a "so bad its funny" kind of humor.
Finally, the movie tries too hard to cram in every good idea FNAF ever had into one plotline, and the result is a plotline that makes no sense -- not with the FNAF lore, and not even with its own self. You will be left with so many dumb questions that have no good answers, and even more if youre a fan of the series. Characters are completely different from their inspirations, their motivations are even more whack as hell. It's like the director read a summary of deep FNAF lore and just figured shoving every idea into one plot would be spooky and cover all their bases, but it just makes a jumbled mess of a plot with characters you never give a shit about, in a world that makes little sense and does little to draw you in.
Funny enough, I happened to watch Willy's Wonderland in the background at a party the night before, and even though I wasnt even watching it completely, I have to admit that movie just seemed more compelling than FNAF. It had a protagonist I wanted to learn about, mysteries that keep you wondering, humor that was ridiculous enough to make me laugh more sincerely, and animatronics that frankly had a spookier appeal to them, in a premise that was much more engaging. In some ways, Willy's is even truer to the spirit of FNAF, albeit with Nic Cage action sequences; there's at least a better attempt at conveying a complete story, and it does more to create spooks and frights with the setting. I really loved in Willy's the scenes where Nic Cage is cleaning the place, I love the attention to detail -- which gets you engrossed with the setting, makes you feel like youre there, convinces you it was indeed a happy place once before becoming tarnished. Im definitely thinking waaay more of Willy's than I am of FNAF lol.

for the violence ask game 8, 9, and 23! (also do I have to specify a fandom or?)
I mean if you don't put any fandom I'll just pick the first thing I think of lol, if you want me to do this again with a specific fandom just send another ask
8: common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
'Pokemon battles are unethical dogfights' ugh come ON. There is a REASON you are called a trainer. because you are a coach. you *train* the pokemon. pokemon duke it out CONSTANTLY in the wild. they see the pokemon that work with humans and how strong they are, and they wanna be stronger. and even if they're caught incidentally or they just hate us they respect you if you have a high level enough badge. because its a symbol of strength as a coach. and in turn they help us and hang out with us because they dont hate us. its symbiotic. making dogs compete in agility contests isnt abuse. come on
9: worst part of canon
therion's not explicitly trans :/
I'm not sure if Pokemon Generations is more canon to the games than Pokemon Masters but. I think its bogus that the only reason Silver hates his dad is because he relied on others like a WEAK WEAKLING but also hes like 11 and clearly working through a lot of shit
23: ship you've unwillingly come around to
idk man. i kinda stand my ground on ships i dont like.
...however. i DO see the appeal of todoroki/deku despite having zero intention to ever interact with that media or that fandom.

Hi this is “afab doesn't equal nonbinary” anon
I went to twitter to check what was being said and it’s apparent that two situations are being conflated here.
So I wanna start off by saying that I wrote my first ask thinking this discourse was about fanfiction headcannoning but it seems someone has brought real life discourse onto tumblr.
The emasculation comment now makes sense too.
To put it shortly, Jungkook in real life is being called a woman, she/her, and a lesbian. This asian male emascalization.
This is up there with calling real life black women “men”.
It’s disgusting and I don't stand by it even as a trans person.
It seems some people -unfortunately white queer people- can’t see how joking and imposing headcannons on real people is an issue.
The only time headcannons and characterization can be used is on fiction interpretation of people.
I’d like to think that most readers and authors have the literature competency to know that writing and reading original characterizations that have BTS’s faces slapped onto them doesn't give us the right to then project them onto the real life members.
This is one of the rules of IRL People fiction.
You don't present these projections as truth in the real world and you ABSOLUTELY DON'T send them said content.
The real Jungkook we know and love is a man who is secure in his masculinity to explore his femininity. But he can only do that if it’s done SOLELY by him. Sexuality and Gender Expression is a PERSONAL journey.
By even delving into his feminine side he is taking back his power as a asian man in a world where asian men have been historically emasculated. But this only works if he is the only one with the choice to do it. It has to be initiated by him or else its bigotry.
When we start imposing what and how we think he’s supposed to express himself then we are becoming proponents of white supremacy.
So just like a trans person doesn't have to tell the world they’re trans, cis people shouldn't either. Like I hope that’s a thing we all understand? Right?
By joking that “Jungkook is gender” or any other weird shit, we’re actively commodifying his identity and essentially playing into Orientalism which is racial violence.
And just like I stated about some nonbinary people reaffirming binaries, white queer people have this tendency to try and put expression into a binary and unfortantely alot of afab grapple onto asian men, especially ones in kpop as their “new gender expression just dropped” as of this isnt a real fucking person.
It comes off like those weird geisha or asian android holograms/advertisements in video games/movies like Cyberpunk and Blade Runner. It's Neo-Orientalism.
So yes FICTIONAL characters who have Jungkook’s name and face can be nonbinary but don’t assume IRL Jungkook’s gender identity until he says so himself.
Even then, if he does come out as trans, we shouldn’t make a spectacle out of it. We should treat Jungkook like before; like when we perceived them as cis.
So I stand by what I said in the first post when it comes to FICTION.
But this is my post to say that whats happening on twitter IS EMASCULATION as what the other anons have pointed out.
With the new context, they are absolutely correct but they’ve brought it to the wrong person which is the author of this blog.
I want to apologize to that anon cuz I essentially argued a VALID point that they weren't making but at the same time what they’re arguing in relation to twitter is not what’s happening on this blog.
We’re conflating two issues.
Essentially we’re both right:
Jungkook can be nonbinary with they/them pronouns in FICTION
Jungkook is a cis man who explores femininity in REAL LIFE AND IS BEING SUBJECTED TO EMASCULATION
And honestly I’m concerned about IRL and it should definitely be talked about.
that was sort of what i was trying to get across. in no way shape or form am i projecting fictional jungkook onto him in real life. they’re essentially 2 different entities, and nothing i’ve ever written about him, be it his gender identity or how he’s presented is me being like hey this is real life jungkook and this is how i feel about him, which i assumed was just a known fact from writer to reader.
me writing gender fluid jungkook isn’t there to emasculate jungkook as a person in real life and his own gender identity, because of course like everyone else i’m simply a fan who has surface level knowledge about his own person and obviously don’t know everything that he hasn’t shared with us
i don’t agree with everything that everyone says on twitter, and i know that what some people see as jokes can come off as more harmful than funny, especially within this context and how people view men or women, or just people in general based off race and problems that have been around for so long that no one apparently wants to talk about and solve
not only gender identity but i think sexuality plays into this too but i won’t go too deep into that because it’s a whole new conversation that we could talk about a lot.
what the anon said about what happens on twitter wasn’t wrong at all, but within the context of what i’ve written i personally don’t think it was fit within what they were trying to argue, especially with their first initial statement made which was me being disrespectful to nonbinary people and then bringing race into it.
yes, people on twitter have the tendency to say weird, harmful shit, and yes i don’t agree with all of it. but i’m talking a fictional story 🕺and nothing i’ve ever written is me saying that yes that’s exactly how i view the members of bts, because it’s not. and i’m not sitting here saying that junkook is this or that in real life. there’s two very different worlds, and i’m fully aware of my boundaries as a fan and my thoughts towards real life jungkook aren’t presented through fiction
i agree!! i think especially with what happens on twitter it’s an issue that needs to be brought up more otherwise we’re just gonna get no where and it’s like a constant cycle of people just projecting and being weird and kinda harmful and just sad 😭
it’s just the anon hadn’t brought it within the correct context. and i’d just assumed we all knew that just because i’ve written something, i’m aware that it’s not me thinking that real life jungkook is that way
and i hope that everyone who reads my stuff, or the fic if i evidently decide to upload it, know that i’m not projecting fictional jungkook onto real life jungkook. i’m very comfortable within myself as a fan, i know where to step and i know what’s wrong and never once would i want to purposefully subject jungkook to being emasculated when i’m aware it’s such a big issue for asian men and a topic that i personally think should be brought up more especially within the twitter community who have a tendency to say things without thinking about the underlying issue of what they’re posting about
anon wasn’t wrong about twitter but there were a few other points i wasn’t totally in agreement with, but i hope bringing up the topic is kinda a way for everyone to think about the issues the more.
and i apologise that if any moment it’s come across that i’ve tried to either emasculate or invalidated any of the members of bts through what i’ve said or written or what’s been posted on this page, because really that’s the the last thing i’d want

i hate pretty much every anti trans argument because there is always bigotry in it. some illogical belief of hatred they are trying to spin as genuine concern
“trans women can use women’s bathrooms because what if they attack cis women?” okay what if a cis woman attacks me in the bathroom? what if she calls me a dyke and a predator and bashes my face in? what if she peeps on me while im peeing and records me? what if she stands guard and harasses women of color for being too masculine to use the same bathroom as her?
“well what if men pretend to be trans women to use the lady’s room?” trans women being allowed or not allowed to use the bathroom in public will not stop predators. they will find another way to harass and assault women in public spaces. trans bathroom laws will not protect anyone from predators they will just increase violence to trans women
“but i dont feel safe using the same bathroom as a trans woman” why. you probably cant even tell most trans women are trans. at no point are you gonna be looking at a trans woman’s penis. you’re in your own stall, they are in their own stall. you will finish, pull up your pants/skirt, and both wash your hands and say nothing to each other and leave the bathroom. if you think trans women are gonna be doing anything else differently by virtue of being trans you are a bigot. end of discussion. you are no different than people getting mad disabled people are using the bathroom, or people of color are using the same bathroom. shut up. we all have to take a piss.
“well in sports its not fair--” sports arent fair. everyone has biological differences, and attacking trans women in sports means people are also going to attack CIS WOMEN in sports. particularly women of color. so no, you dont give a shit about things being “fair” for cis women, you care about upholding a standard of white womanhood and white women being inherent victims unable to fucking do anything the same as a big strong man, which isnt feminist at all. i see people saying trans women cant compete against cis women in fucking VIDEO GAMES because “being DMAB gives you an unfair advantage with bigger hands and faster reflexes--” shut up. you’re just making shit up now.
“well what about children who may regret transitioning?” most people detransition due to a lack of social support or when facing profound bigotry. and if they are young-young children still exploring their identity, delaying puberty isnt going to cause dramatic health conditions if they change their mind. because a lot of cis people have delayed puberty or even early puberty without all of us getting up in arms about how no, they need to do it at THIS SPECIFIC AGE or their entire body is RUINED. no one is doing major cosmetic surgery on 12 year olds, not just because they might change their mind but also because even if they dont their bodies arent done growing and they would need even more in the future. you are arguing against children being given more time to think about what puberty they want to go through and coming to terms with strange changes in their body and making informed decisions. maybe they end up being cis, but being on puberty blockers a few years and receiving love and support will do nothing to hinder their lives.

sooooo sillyyyy what a silly movie.

Said it in tags but yknow what it deserves its own the post. Bear with me a second, this might seem scattered but theresna throughline.
The difference between, as we paint things, cishet allo perisex etc men, and women
Or etc men and lesbians
Etc men and queers
What really boils down to toxicity compared to its healthy counterpart
I just reblogged an example of butch protectiveness. What makes it different from toxic protectiveness. What makes queer chivalry feel comforting and and cishet etc chivalry feel sexist and condescending. You see the pattern Im talking about?
Gender and sexuality arent actually the defining factors here. We use them as shorthand. Cishet etc people are capable of healthy dynamics and queer folks are capable of toxic dynamics.
Im not saying there isnt a correlation, queerness often breaks down cis etc. ideas and ideals and reforms them in healthier ways.
The difference is respect of autonomy and agency.
Why does it sometimes feel gross to women when a guy is protective but good when a butch is protective? The first has sexist history and implications. That because youre a woman you must be weaker, more fragile, incompetent, and the implications make one angry. With a butch, thats not there. They just see you as YOU, protect you because they care about you as an individual.
Difference between someone giving their kid sex ed including consent including what to do if youre uncomfortable, its cold out do you want a jacket, and you better be back by midnight i have a gun take your pepper spray wear this huge jacket. The difference isnt gender or sexuality or lifestyle, the difference is do you assume your kid is competent and equip them to make good safe choices, or do you try lock them away threaten their dates makes them dress covered up because theyre your fragile sweet helpless girl and you think threats or isolation and control is all that will keep them safe.
Men, cishets,[ insert population to hate on here] might be culturally programmed to behave a certain way, may benefit themselves behaving a certain way (eg upholding the patriarchy which is something people of any age and gender can do), but crucially, its not inherent theyre not stuck that way. People can learn and unlearn and grow.
On the other hand, someones queer identity doesnt inherently make them safe. Theres so much lateral violence just on this app. Thats also people buying into normalcy in an attempt for protection, becoming cops for normalcy. And its not the fault of aces or bis or trans fems or trans mascs or whoever the target is this month, every group has people trying to sell out to Big Normal in exchange for being allowed to live and maybe even thrive. Cultural power is real.
Thats my point. Certain groups of people are more likely to have rethought and relearned attitudes we ALL absorbed and are exposed to every day about who we're supposed to shame and which boxes we're supposed to fit and how badly we should hurt ourselves and each other to "get ahead".
Nothing is inherent to anyone of any identity. [X identity group*] are not a lost cause of awful people. We kind of all start out as awful people. We're all capable of growth. There is hope. Its so much work, but if hope isnt worth working for than what is?
*bi group I mean I gender or sexuality or disability (im looking at yall casually demonizing people with narcissism and schizophrenia and many other experiences). Something inherent to a person doesnt say anything about their morality or their choices.
Eg incels are pretty awful people by definition BUT its possible to become not-an-incel, to change ones mind, to leave a cult or a movement. Might be extraordinarily difficult but its possible. To be on that incel path and willingly going further down it, thats a kind of moral choice.

Any habits you like to share with the class?
OK welcome to the 7 deadly sins of my art farting career. Hopefully i will not get the punishments equal to these said sins in my life So buckle up cause were starting hot with lust.
Lust is a complicated one because im not twisting the anatomy to the point its not legit accurate. Looking at you superhero comics and games that are just boobs and ass mostly mortal kombat is a fall of this.. i just.. can't draw ugly people. Dont get me wrong i honestly am trying! Its just complicated. And dont worry i may write smut but i cant draw it either.. Ill try if im brave enough but i know better not to put it on my portfolio...or here..
ENVY ohhh boy do i have it. and i have ways to control this lil demon! Its okay to compare yourself to the masters/ other people BUT, not to the point where you think copying them 1000% will make you just like them! Mish mash your favorites to make your own style. Thats how i learned mine. Compete with yourself not with someone else. Take breaks from other peoples work if they make you the sads and focus on your end goals. ok now BACK IN THE CORNER ENVY!
Okay whos next *sees sloth playing animal crossing* Right. you.. I tend to get unmotivated by projects easily if im stressed the hell out or i dont like somthing in my sketchbook.. so i just put it away and go play some video games. IMHO this isnt 100% a bad thing.. we all need a break for a kit kat bar every now and then however HOWEVER!, Making excuses for weeks at a time effects your artwork later, So this is why you need to focus on the game but also allow yourself to take maybe 15 min breaks to do anything else besides video games. Water your plants, Play with your pets, Party in your room, EAT SOME FOOD!
Next is Gluttony and taking on too many things at once is a good and bad thing all at the same time. Welcome to the world of ADHD. This is mostly bad for me cause im a people pleaser and i want to please everyone except myself (yes my dad raised me as a doormat im slowly growing a spine.)
Now the biggest sin i have out of all of them...almost killed my chances of getting into this school.. PRIDE. Its okay to take pride in your work but, you have to learn when to step back and give what the client wanted..even if its in graphite form. Bite your lip and hold those words you were gonna say and just give what they wanted. You might just get in.
Next is greed and like i said before im a people pleaser not a greedy person so this one is off the table kind of however, i have seen people on my artstation and my linkdin accounts trying to work with me cause im going to this school and they gave off red flags. One was even a huhbot trying to sell me makeup. o
*looks at wrath* Okay buddy youre up! Now im not the 100% type to use blood, violence, and edgyness into my work. Its more i hate my own work and it drives me insane to where i wanna crumple it up, yeet it in the bin and start over..and this cycle can continue for a few days till i go into sloth mode. Dont be so harsh on yourself to where what your drawing is no fun! Try to think about it from another view if its not what you expected. You might be surprised on how it comes out.

bussyween, part two: halloween ii (1981)
im writing this about a week or so after actually watching it because i had attempted to start writing and didnt get more than half a paragraph in. ill follow it up with part three shortly since i watched the next one today. for now, heres part two of bussyween, covering halloween ii (1981), directed by rick rosenthal.
for starters im greatly impressed by the cinematography on several fronts. dean cundey outdid himself with a lot of the shots, and the hospital setting that most of the movie takes place in is shot with a beautifully claustrophobic feel. somehow they managed to make a tiny little hospital in the late 70s (more on that later) look good.
the other main reason im impressed with the cinematography is that while this was definitely shot and released three years after the original, it takes place literally on the exact same halloween night as the original. it picks up exactly where halloween leaves off and almost feels like more of a part two rather than just a sequel, and honestly aside from the obvious wig jamie lee curtis wears, it looks like it takes place on the exact same night. were it not for the wig and the drastically sonically different score i feel like you could edit these films together into one giant, 2.5 hour long cut, and someone who wasnt intimately familiar with these movies would probably be fooled into thinking it was one film.
speaking of the score, it leaves me with very mixed feelings. there arent a lot of particularly new compositions, most of it is comprised of newly recorded, much more synth heavy arrangements of the same themes composed for the original film. conceptually this doesnt bother me in the slightest but in terms of execution i think it could have been handled better. the classic theme sounds kinda goofy now that the piano has been replaced with a weirdly brassy sounding synth. its a sound design decision i dont really understand but if thats what carpenter and newcomer to the halloween series alan howarth (carpenters musical partner in the studio for most of the 80s) really wanted then good for them. the main exception is "the shape stalks again", which is a rearrangement of the stalking cue from the original, that is far more tense than its predecessor.
a notable difference between this film and the previous is that of the level of violence and gore featured. whereas the original is paced more like a thriller and uses that to its advantage instead of relying on extremely gory deaths, carpenter decided to reshoot some of the kills in this movie to make them more violent to compete with all of the clones that were popping up in the emerging slasher genre, most notably 1980s friday the 13th. i dont think this really detracts that much from the film, i think for the most part it ratchets up the tension nicely compared to the original. that said, i think some of them are somewhat unnecessary solely because of pacing reasons.
ive saved my thoughts on the films pacing and narrative for last because i wanted to get my more positive feelings out of the way up front. where i think this movie falls apart is in its pacing. scenes are drawn out far beyond where they need to be length wise and the whole film feels padded to hell. it isnt really until the last act that everything starts to flow really really well. the first act feels alright and sets things up well enough, even if i feel like the way they repeatedly have characters talk about how "that kid who killed his parents 15 years ago? yeah i heard he escaped" kinda cheapens things and just generally feels unnecessary.
the first act also sets up probably the least interesting part of the film: its new characters. mostly the trio of nurses who clearly only exist to pad out the films kill count. jimmy, the shy boy who develops a crush on laurie, is the only one with any real importance to the plot, and even he ends up being mostly irrelevant. the other two literally only exist to be killed off in admittedly a somewhat interesting and gruesome way.
the second act is easily the low point of the film, however. pointless scene after pointless scene attempting to flesh out characters that just arent anywhere near as interesting as the original films side cast. not to mention an arguably useless dr loomis, one of the standouts of the original, now reduced to wandering around town like an idiot looking for michael and giving exposition that leads to the eventual twist reveal in act three.
skip this paragraph if you dont want to be spoiled for a 40 year old movie, but this films main contribution to the series is the reveal that laurie is michaels long lost sister. i have to spoil this here because almost the entire rest of the series until the 2018 sequel is built off of this revelation, but i can imagine if youre reading this and have an interest in these movies already then you probably already know this. it is a central plot feature in seven other films including the two rob zombie-directed remake/reboot films, and is referenced extensively in those films, and it all started with this film when a bored john carpenter struggling with writers block decided "what if michael and laurie were siblings?"
aside from all these issues the last 40 or so minutes of the film improve drastically on the weaker middle, and from the moment laurie gets out of bed and starts running it is tense as fuck and i feel it almost outdoes the finale of the first film. the final few scenes are incredibly shot, and the last shot of the film in particular is such an effective shot to end a film on.
overall halloween ii is a good 60 minute part two to the original halloween, stretched out a bit too far to a 90 minute feature film. it clearly has almost as big a legacy as the original does, considering the only continuity in the series that does not acknowledge it in some way is the 2018 reboot timeline. were it tightened up just a bit i honestly think i might prefer it to the original as a standalone film, but as it stands i think the two work better together, as its sequel nature makes the less interesting parts marginally more tolerable.
join me next time on bussyween for a look at the franchises first and only attempt at branching out from the story of michael myers, halloween iii: season of the witch.

HOW HE'D MEET YOU ! arataki itto x male reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
notes: reader is a dude bcuz im a gay man that likes itto and theres not enough male readers so fuck u ill do it myself ig 😈 also this isnt proof read, eng isnt my first language, and i did this in like 2 hours pls dont kill me lmao 💀 OH AND THIS ISNT A STORY, ITS A STORY IN HEADCANON FORM 😭 i legitimately suck at writing stories in story form so have this half assed thing instead 😓
warnings: cursing, blood, injuries & violence. (but its all very brief, not detailed, and not severe so dw)
Tumblr media
arataki itto doesnt actually have a label for himself. hes never felt the need to do so, he just likes who he likes without much of a reason. if someone were to ask him which way he swings, he says: "i swing whichever way the wind will blow me to!"
you guys met through pure chance, and it was super cliche. as you were walking through the bustling streets of inazuma city after the disbanding of the vision hunt decree. he was also nearby, competing with the local children again.
after losing for the tenth time to the same child, he makes a loud groaning noise, which caught your attention (and the attention of everyone in a ten mile radius). while everyone else was looking at him with dislike, you were staring in pure interest, which he noticed.
his eyes widen as he looked at you. there was no way someone being so beautiful was legal, was there? he stared, and stared, and stared and st- "MISTER ITTO! HELLOOOO??"
one of the kids yelled, an annoyed look on his face as he just watched him stare at you for a good few seconds. itto finally snapped out of his trance, with a very clear blush on his face that he poorly tried to hide.
"oh uh- my bad, kid! was just a little tired- kind of spaced off for a little bit- but hey! im back on my A game, so lets go at it again!" he held out his closed fist, offering to play another round of rock, paper, scissors. the child bregudgingly accepted, knowing how this was going to end.
itto was hoping that he would win this time, specifically to impress the cute guy that was behind him. "rock, paper, scissors, shoot-!" the kid and itto chanted synanoumously, then revealed which of the three choices they picked at the shout of the last word.
itto held out a rock, and the young boy choose a paper. "DARN IT!" the oni yelled, once again catching the attention of everyone nearby. an adult all of a sudden snapped at him, condescendingly telling hin to stop bothering everyone, including the local kids.
"...did you really have to go and fight him?" you spoke as you patched up his wounds, caused by the tenryou commission trying to calm down the quirrel between the adult and itto. after they confronted the claymore user, he instantly started escalating the fight, straight up insulting them.
"well yeah! if they dare want to challenge arataki "the favorite of the kids" itto, then im gonna give 'em an ass whop- OW!" he winces as you dabble some alcohol solution to his face wound, caused by one of the tenryou guards punching him pretty hard.
"stop being a big baby, i've heard the stories of you and your adventures, you'll be fine." you spoke as you examined his wound, throwing away the cotton ball you used to clean his injuries, placing it on the top of the small bundle of blood red cotton balls next to you.
"yikes, thats probably gonna leave a bruise in the morning." you took a sharp breath in from sympathy for him, knowing its gonna hurt for awhile. "man, that sucks. i sleep on that side!" a small pout was put on his face as he complained. "don't worry, its not that bad, just some bruising and a bit of blood. it won't take that long to heal."
after a bit more checking, cleaning and bandaging, you finally stood up to stretch, while itto went to check out what he looked like with all the gauzes around most his wounds. "hm! i kinda like it." itto adjusted his hair a little while looking into his reflection, noticing a few hairs out of place. "kinda gives me the "badass, fighter boy" vibe."
after a long yawn, you looked at him to see what he was talking about. "woah- yeah you're kinda right." you nodded at the sight of your hard work. "right? anyways- sorry that you had to be the one to patch me up. my gang usually does it, but i gave the boys the day to rest since we didn't have anything to do today. my bad!" he gives a little nervous chuckle, shrugging his shoulders.
you smiled at him. "its fine, i don't really mind. i have some experience from needing to heal the other people in my adventure team, so its best i did it." a look of shock was suddenly on the other mans face. "woah- you have an adventure team?" "yup, we do alot of stuff all around teyvat. commissions, important bounties, peoples requests, all that stuff." "cool! if you ever need any help with missions, call my gang up! consider it compensation for the healing." he gave you a cheesy wink, which did make you laugh a bit.
"ill consider it, itto." was all you said, before you realize that your team was probably waiting for you, which made you quickly gather up your (somewhat) used first aid kit. you bid adieu to the oni very quickly, not even waiting for a response before heading back off to inazuma city to find your teammates.
"see you around, pretty boy!" he shouted while he watched you run away from his prephiral vision. it made him a little upset to know he couldn't banter with you anymore, but he knew that he would see you soon.
itto also starts to pack up his things, and head home to the camp his gang was staying at. he was excited to tell them about you, but after a bit of thinking, the oni decided to hold off on it for a little. when he sees you again, he'll definitely be sure to get you as a new recruit for the gang, and introduce you to them by then.
