Depends on who's writing, if you only take into account good batman writers then the answers a resounding yes, he may not be great at showing it at times but Bruce has stated multiple times that he cares and loves all his kids including Jason

alana said the new one is way more funky, I've noticed a lot of punk bands are piggy dippin in a funk/punk sound more than a pop/punk sound and honestly? I'm so obsessed.

#its only like half done but ive already had it on repeat for 2 months #truly a I love this song! oh yeah i added it ass playlist #ever since going public with the worm bikes i am more conscious of how incohesive these playlists are #i can have songs bordering on e boy trap music noise alongside what is basically a pop song alongside screamo #but the point was never to have a cohesive sound or vibe. it was to collect new music in one place #and it does that effectively for me even if not everyone who seeks them out has the same taste #also a seperate thought to make these tags extra long: some of them ARE more cohesive and that's the funny part #you can tell my moods of the time or what i was seeking in song. one of them is full of songs about cutting off abusive parents and #simultaneously songs about being happy having a good time healing and starting over #like in a convoluted way that is cohesive and poetic #idk just weird to look back and be able to identify periods of my life with the music i collected now that theres so much of it #wish i could hard copy it but some of these songs are so obscure i feel like it's unrealistic #but i do want to have copies of my VIP list #okay sorry for the long ass rambling tags byyyyeeee

Recently started collecting carnivorous plants and we got some fruitflies and so I moved em all up into the kitchen. My new favourite activity is watching them catch the fruitflies, HIGHLY recommended. I get SUCH a kick out of it, go buy some sundews people.

#the schadenfreude when they get caught by the sundews is so great im like YES! i know ive been complaining so much but can i catch one break like just one break im begging im pleading

#c shut up #my throat is still shot today super achey and talking is difficult #im having some aches in my incisions #also!! ever since i got out of surgery i've had a tapping/popping noise in my chest and its not followed by any pain in my chest but it #could mean anything from just gas trapped there from surgery to a partially collapsed lung #and i know googling things is not always the best but i needed to know what this popping noise was #because it just didnt feel right #it only happens when i switch from like laying down to sitting up or sitting up to standing #idk but my mom is taking me to the drs for my throat today bc shes worried it would impact my surgery recovery #im just really sad :( #and oh even better the house inspection didnt go well meaning its basically 5050 on if we even get this house #that we've put the past 2 months and some money into #and as im typing this our mortgage lender whos turned into an asshole is down our throats like when u closing when u closing #im in agony #can something go right can one thing go right #im so tired

Ok i was turning Peacemaker around in my head to cope at work again I do have to say quick apology to James Gunn I'm low-key a fool not realizing he was absolutely actually setting up Peacemaker having psychotic symptoms in season 2. The reason I thought he Might Not Have Been was bevause Like "character starts seeing a vision of someone they feel guilty about killing" is such a common trope but like.

1. The scene where Chris first sees August is fully treated as him hallucinating. He doesn't see August and start talking to him like he's a metaphor or like asking what's going on in a lampshadey way, August starts berating him and Chris immediately starts going for a weapon to kill him again, and then Harcourt sees him "talking to himself" and is visibly very concerned.

2. Definitely not a accident that the way Waller And Co planned to discredit Chris was by making him look like he experiences paranoid delusions and then at the end of the season Chris is hallucinating. (Also still convinced its a meta thing too, with the fake notebook clearly being a cariacture of a schizophrenic person the same way comics Chris often was)

Sorry everyone I once again convinced myself I'm reading too much into very obvious intention. If season 2 ever happens were getting Bridgette FOR SURE-

living like this is EXTREMELY sexy of him ngl. this set design deserves an award for completely understanding the character and for not being afraid to go All OUT. and i need to point out no other action movie guy could ever or will ever be able to carry this living space off without it looking like he's trying and failing at doing too much. but not maverick as played by tom cruise. with him and him alone does it look simply like getting a peek into the natural habitat of someone known for having jetfuel in their blood.

#jetfuel in his blood #jetfuel is his blood #top gun the movie and maverick the character were both part of pop culture in a huge way for 35 years before this sequel came out #and one thing they symbolise in popular memory is apparatus of locomotion by land air and sometimes sea that go very fast #and so does tom cruise #with any other action movie star this set would simply not mean anything to us the audience except that they were trying too hard #its only with tom cruise and this character in this sequel to this movie that a seet design like this actually holds #almost an emotional instinctual understanding for the audience #you look at the bigger pieces of this living space he's made for himself and you think of course he lives like this its maverick #you look at the smaller pieces and discover new depths new journeys hes been on for the 35 years since we last met him #this set is a perfect combination of tribute to the space this character has occupied in pop culture for 35 years #and an insight on the journey he's on in this movie #you're not even thinking they designed his home like this because he's a cool action hero in a cool action movie #even though both are true #but mostly it just makes sense like getting the reveal of the natural habitat of a legendary pokemon would #also masterful choices were made to portray the character in the way cruise did in this sequel #the wry tired genuine earnestness and compassion that transform the actiony trappings of the genre the character is in #from just shallow fun to a very warm emotionally resonant cultural phenomenon of a movie #with him as its steel spine #but that's a whole other post

Like, y’all know how in Venture Bros. the whole point of OSI vs the Guild of Calamitous Intent and the whole world being slave to this parodic, pastiche-laden game of “superheroes vs supervillains” is blatantly revealed to be so the villains don’t lose their minds and behave much worse? They’re locked in the games of their choosing, enabled and humored, so they don’t set the goddamn world on fire? That’s more of what Batman needs to blatantly be like. The pendulum swing of Westian camp and pop art to gory giallo, the kid fantasy of being Robin and being Batman’s best friend vs being a kid surrounded by dangerous, villainous egotists who see him as their nemesis. The villains are active threats that harm the innocent, but they wanna play games of death traps and capers and outsmarting their greatest foes, who happen to be Batman and a twelve-year-old. Bruce is just as much a scary, blood-soaked brute smashing these narcissists to pulp as he is reaching and begging “Please, let me help you.” Etc etc.
